There’s a new sheriff in town, meaning another, more influential minority group: Hispanics. 44 years after the Civil Rights Act, African-Americans failed to fully consolidate their position in the American society, due in large part to nefarious leadership which continues to seek retribution instead of opportunity.
With Hispanics now outnumbering them, I feel African-Americans are in the most precarious position they have faced since 1964. Whites will still continue to kowtow to them, but I don’t think Latinos have any such qualms, and will be more than happy to kick them back to the rear of the bus. What’s more, I believe an Obama presidency will have little or no impact on this chain of events.
I hope that the window for African-American equality and justice hasn’t fully closed. If it has, then the cabal of dubious post-MLK black leaders (such as Rep. Hastings) must be held largely accountable.

Since we are heading down the slippery slope to socialism I’d like to offer up an alternative to the 700 billion dollar bailout plan you are currently considering.
If we have 700 billion dollars or insist upon printing it and plunging our country into deeper debt, I suggest we divide that number (700 billion) by the number of people in America (legal of course–approximately 300 million) and issue a check for that amount to each and every American (every, man, woman, and child).
Once those checks have been issued (direct deposit should be required to save the cost of paper and printing supplies) all social services should end (social security, disability, welfare, Medicaid/Medicare, student loans, grants, food stamps—every social program).
These checks should come with stipulations:
1) If the person receiving the check is mentally or physically unable to tend to their finances then a trust should be setup to care for their financial needs. If the person is a minor child a trust fund should be created with his/her parents as guardian of the fund to ensure that the child’s needs are met. There must be accountability and oversight for all trust accounts to insure that these funds are used in an appropriate manner.
2) One person from each family should be required to purchase some sort of housing (house, condo, villa, ranch—something)—outright without financing and/or mortgage. Taxes and adequate insurance will also be required to insure this asset against natural disasters or acts of terrorism. This asset is exempt from any liens including the IRS or any other debt—no one should be allowed to jeopardize his/her shelter regardless of the reason. Shelter should be available to everyone regardless of class or social status.
If a person chooses to purchase other real estate for investment purposes so be it. But if you choose not to insurance and protect your own assets you will not be reimbursed by the government for any loses. Investing is risky. If you gamble with your finances you need to be able to incur consequences.
3) If the families currently have or wish to purchase a vehicle–they should be required to purchase an alternative fuel vehicle such as electric, hybrid, hydrogen, etc. Upon the purchase of their new vehicle all old oil and gas vehicles should be recycled for scrap metal.
4) Each family should be required to open a medical savings account with two million dollars per family member. To clarify each person would have their own account or trust and those funds would follow them for their entire life. These accounts must be insured and guaranteed by our government so that everyone will be able to get the quality medical care they need. These accounts also need oversight and accountability. In the event of a catastrophic illness and the total depletion of this account–all health, medical, dental, mental healthcare, will be free to this individual for as long as he/she lives–quality healthcare not the substandard Medicaid and/or welfare provisions that we currently have. Any funds remaining in this account at death all remaining funds will be donated to government approved medical research and development facility to cure ALS, cancer, muscular dystrophy, and other life threatening illnesses that steal time and quality from us. Each person will elect a beneficiary for their own account at creation. Parents or guardians will elect a beneficiary for their children. When that child becomes of age they will have an opportunity to change their beneficiary.
5) All current bills and legislation for spending should be halted–no new spending for any reason. No more earmarks or special projects. All matching funds for government employees end. Our focus needs to shift to balancing the budget.
Imagine the money that we as a nation could save if we weren’t burdened with social programs and special interests. Companies will no longer be burdened with the cost of health and/or dental insurance since each person will be responsible for their own coverage. No more costs associated with social security, Medicare, Medicaid, welfare, or disaster recovery. We can eliminate those government entities entirely (social security, FEMA, etc). The only need would be a small staff to act as an oversight to insure that all American’s will receive quality health, dental, and mental healthcare.
I’m sure these seem like drastic measures but we live in drastic times. You are all right about one thing—we need to act now. I’m begging each of you to reconsider the path we are on and consider all other alternatives before you rush into making a decision that will change our country forever. Please do not apply a Band-Aid to the symptom of a much larger problem. Thank you for your time and your consideration.
