McCain’s New Line: “That’s Not Country First; That’s Obama First”
In Blaine, Minn., Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., hit his Democratic opponent for "gaming the system" instead of challenging it.
"That’s not country first, that’s Obama first," McCain said.

Interesting. Everyone already thinks picking Palin was putting McCain first over country, so this seems like desperate projection.

Report from the campaign field. I am in Wisconsin today which is now a toss up state. The McCain group I belong to left Chicago early this morning at 6am and now we are in Lacrosse area. We have registered 472 republicans so far and that is just the ones i am counting. I have been talking to people and no one is for Obama, most feel that he is full of bull. This is very encouraging. One voter said the polls are misleading the only people who answer them tend to be Obama supporters. She said that when Obama went down in the polls his camp sent more BOTS out. She feel that he may nit carry Wisconsin.

What’s amazing to me is how irrelevant McCain sounds already. Every time I hear the guy I immediately see G.W. Bush’s face feeding us the same rubbish we’ve seen over the last eight years. McCain is the quintessential “Ghost of Failings Past.” Just bizarre…

Let’s see. The Republicans have been responsible for making sure deregulation was the lay of the land, and it’s now Obama’s fault? I think we should look at McCain’s role in the Keating 5 scandal, and see who really put his country first.

McCain is consistent in one thing: putting short-term political gain (winning the election at any cost, including his honesty) ahead of the long-term good of the country.

Obama has always put himself first. Everything he has done has been to further his political career. Although a Democrat, who was open to his candidacy at the beginning of the primaries, I have been totally turned off by his blatant and insufferable arrogance, including his “presidential” seal, tour abroad, Mt. Olympus convention speech and especially his Messiah claims – “We are the ones you’ve been waiting for.” And all this from a man who has ties to criminals, domestic terrorists and a 20+ year relationship with a racist, anti-American minister, whose sermon inspired the title of Obama’s own book.
And yes, I’m a Hillary supporter who will vote for John McCain, a man who does put country first.

Samantha; funny, I’ve spent lots of weekends up in WI, Fox Valley, LaCrosse, Appleton – everyone I’ve been talking to is eager to hand McCain and his odious gang a big defeat. Also have a look at the new reg numbers for the Dems. These unverifiable anecdotes you and I tell actually mean nothing. And your polling idea is pure fantasy. The truth is, nobody has a good LV model.
But, welcome to the ground game – and maybe now you realize why the Obama campaign has invested so heavily in it. Have a look at Indiana, for example.

John McCain is a FRAUD. What more is there to say? I don’t want to hear any more about the past…American is failing today, and we cannot afford to have such a puppet as McCain, who cannot stand up to Steve Schmidt, et al, and run the kind of honorable, issues oriented campaign that he promised the American people. It’s become apparent that McCain has spent all the currency he’s going to get on his POW history, etc. The American people are good people, but they do not like being played for fools. They do remember the whispers about the details of his POW times, the Keating 5 scandal, and the in your face lies his campaign is telling at each juncture of his current campaign. They know his campaign openly speaks to the media about this election not being about issues, as if the American people are not paying attention. We obviously are not as stupid as they think or pray that we are.

“Country First” is not a slogan and it is not a brand of cereal to be marketed. Firefighters, soldiers, teachers, nurses Red Cross volunteers, Community organizers, steel workers and most who post here on the blog all make personal sacrifices and commitments that put their country first in their daily lives.

How, in any way, are people not laughing at John McCain? He is standing there, a 26 year Washington veteran and self proclaimed messiah for deregulation, with the lobbyists and architects of the current economic philosophy and policy on his staff claiming that the current economic mess is squarely Obama’s fault? Not 6 years of reckless deregulation from a republican President and congress that rewarded the rich and megacorps with tax cuts and told the middle class and poor you are just not working hard enough. Not 35 years of screaming “FREE MARKET” at that top of their lungs which has left us bereft of industry and an economy based on revolving debt.
Sarah Palin’s appeal is that she is a typical American voter and Republican. She has just enough education and information to be dangerous. She, and most other people in this country think because they can repeat a few sound bites they hear on the news actually know and understand what is going on and that they have a relevant opinion regarding it. This Republican President has just requested the largest socialization program in the history of our nation. Where is the republican outrage? Where is the ranting about the death of capitalism? Strangely there is none. We can’t socialize health care because that would be wrong, we can put the necessary money we need to make schools and social security successful because we can’t afford to subsidize those lazy bastards out there with our valuable tax dollars. You uber rich guys though, we will take on your debt, no problem. Keep your multi-BILLION dollar bonuses and the tax cuts that let you hang on to an even larger portion of them. Hey even keep your profits that you keep out of the country in order to avoid paying taxes on them. We got your back.
This is the problem with that trickle down theory of economics IT DOESN’T, AND IT NEVER HAS WORKED!!!!! Businesses are about profit. The simplest way to increase that profit is to keep wages and benefits low.
GOP fanatics and faithful, remember this the next time you start screaming socialist and marxist (as if any of you actually understand what those terms mean)for those of us that want to use some tax dollars to help level the playing field for our fellow citizens so every one has a chance to lift themselves up to their potential. You just saddles me and my kids with a debt to support a group of people that are the most financially affluent, and elite. A 700 Billion, to 1 Trillion dollar bailout to the smallest minority in the country, the top 5% of wage earners (I use the term earner loosely)
You GOP’ers are not against social programs or against providing entitlements, you are just against using them for people that might vote against you.
BTW 1 Trillion dollars, pays for health care for everyone in the country, shores up Social security, hires 200,000 new teachers, builds 25,000 new schools, provides the first two years college for every HS graduate, subsidizes the necessary shift from fossil fuels to solar, wind and nuclear power and made us the largest manufacturer of non-gasoline powered automobiles. In less than 20 years with that 1 Trillion dollars things could be significantly better for the 400,000,000+ people that will be living here by then.
Instead, we are spending that trillion dollars to insure that less than 5 million people that make more than 10 million dollars a year already, will keep making that money for themselves, in the hopes they will drop some crumbs on the floor for the rest of us.
John McCain, this debacle is the child of your and your party’s core philosophy. Rules are for other people.

Do you people understand that McCain is assuming you are stupid? that this line of his is nothing more than a slogan to make you ignore the fact that this crises was the inevitable conclusion to the GOP philosophy of deregulation? The GOP philosophy towards business is equivalent to removing the brakes from a car but claiming that it is still safe because you have an air bag and a seat belt.

Putting country first could be an apt description of Barack Obama’s whole career. He was on the ground, helping people laid off from the steel mill shutdowns while director of the Developing Communities project (June 1985 to May 1988), “a church-based community organization originally comprising eight Catholic parishes in Greater Roseland (Roseland, West Pullman, and Riverdale) on Chicago’s far South Side” [ Wikipedia]
Do we want John McCain, a captive to and creature of Washington DC, someone who calls the Washington lobbyists “his staff”? Or do we want someone who give up high paying opportunities (as a magnum cum laud grad of Harvard university and president of the Harvard law review) to work for laid off workers?

It took nearly 12 years of a Republican led Congress and eight years of Republican led White House to destroy America’s once booming economy. McCain’s solution is to fired the head of the SEC and blame Wall Street, ifnoring the fact that his chief economic advisor (Phil Gram) was the root cause of the problem. Obama takes a day to talk with the leading financial wizards alive today and he gets slammed. Personally, I would rather have someone informed making decisions than someone who admits now knowing anything about economics.

“Opening up the health insurance market to more vigorous nationwide competition, as we have done over the last decade in banking, would provide more choices of innovative products less burdened by the worst excesses of state-based regulation.”
Now tell me, Senator McCain, after the garbage you have spewed these last few weeks, why on Earth should I believe a word coming out of your mouth?

Most definitely, John McCain puts “McCain First!”
McCain certainly was not putting country first when he picked Sarah Palin as his VP. She was chosen so that McCain could throw a “smokescreen” over ignorant voters and help make him President.
Palin has no national experience, no foreign policy experience, holds ultra-Conservative views contrary to most Americans, is being investigated by the courts in Alaska for her handling of Troopergate, and just got her first passport last year. She’s the most ignorant and unprepared candidate for VP ever, and a heartbeat away from being President. And, she’s not answering most questions from the media or public.
Obama is putting “Country First” in his decisions.

Looking at the history of Obama’s campaigns and the way in which this one was conducted, the smears of Clinton, and now the smears of Palin, the thuggery in the caucuses and now sending his supporters out to ‘get in the face of neighbors’, the protestations “families are off limits” but evidently that only includes Michelle, it’s easy to see Obama’s values put Obama first. His supporters bought into it and that has promoted an atmosphere of ‘anything to win’ including thuggery and breaking Federal law. Obama says nothing.
It’s just too easy to see but people see what they want and if he is it, he will be POTUS. Then we’ll pay the piper.

My fellow Liberals and Democrats there’s alot of blame to go around in Washington and I can start with Democrats Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid for they are the CURRENT leaders of Congress, we are talking about leaders who are not leading but who care less about the american people, because Democrats are more concern on how to make political points for power and taking vacations and DOING NOTHING about financial and economic matters as they should. When Bear Sterns went down last spring what did Congress do?, Pelosi asked everybody to go home and take a vacation and literaly made Congress go without DOING NOTHING about the collapse of Bear Sterns and about the National Security bill. Like I said before Obama’s liberal friends have the DO NOTHING attitude and WAIT AND SEE actions like OBAMA then that’s the CHANGE you calmore. OBAMA is full of empty words and has the DO NOTHING CONGRESS(DNC) syndrome. so Pelosi, Reid and Obama don’t deserve to be leaders but maybe organizers of a small town…. somewhere in Europe?!

john michael…
since when does having “national” experience mean anything when it comes to being a nominee for president or v.p?! most presidents in history were govenors of state. just in case you werent aware of that. that being said, what experience in foreign policy does ANY govenor have? none. nothing out of the ordinary, thats why they have ADVISORS and cabinet members with that kind of experience. also, what “ultra” conservative views does she hold that is contrary to most of america?! she is not a far right canidate by any means. just because she believes in God and is against abortion?! im not sure what you are basing that statement on, but its flat out wrong. troopergate.. wow. ok, all the evidence(if you were to actually look into it and not just jump on the bashing bandwagon) points to her doing anything wrong, and actually had her looking out for the citizens best interests. any proof that you have that she was acting illegally would be great if you have. finally, a passport?! you’re using the grounds that she just got er first passport a while back as a voting stance?! wow…

Comments suggesting that McCain is desperate or panicked are amusing. The fact is–this race is incredibly close and no one has any idea who is going to win on November 4th. That is not where it should be. With the credit and housing market collapse, Bush’s rock bottom ratings and an unpopular war, the Democrats should be ahead by double digits. Yet the RCP poll of polls has the race within a couple of points. If Obama can’t pull ahead after the news this week, his prospects are not great. I suspect McCain is far from panicked at this point. He too has got to be surprised at how strong his prospects are looking at this point. Remember, this was supposed to be a blowout….

There are only a few questions Americans will never have to ask themselves about John Mccain:
Who is this man?
Can you trust him with the Presidency.
Furthermore, WHo would you rather have managed your money? John Mccain or Barack Obama?
Those are the questions many AMericans must ask themselves this November.
WHo would you trust to handle your money in these times of Geo Political and economic crisis?

Belle, I don’t know what plane of existance that you live on that first you accept whole hog (lipstick or no) that Obama is somehow responsible for the current fiscal crisis, and now are pointing the finger at Biden for Iraq/Afghanistan and Pakistan. Truth08 Who caused the current geopolitical and economic crises? Bush/McCain. I question deeply John McCain’s ability to recognize the Constitution on sight, let alone promise to defend it. Which is what the President swears to do. Put the Constitution first. I would wager John McCain has not read the Constitution outside of a classroom. I’m guessing Sarah Palin has not read more than the preamble and maybe the bill of rights once or twice.

Do you want to vote for the man who opposed JUSTICE for women who can prove they were intentionally discriminated against? They go right ahead and vote for John McCain!
From the New York Times editorial:
“Hillary Clinton got most of the attention on Tuesday, but another woman who spoke at the Democratic convention that night also brought the delegates — especially the women delegates — to their feet.
Her name is Lilly Ledbetter.
Ms. Ledbetter does not have Senator Clinton’s star power, but she could end up being an important force in driving votes to Mr. Obama.
Last year, Ms. Ledbetter was the losing party in Ledbetter v. Goodyear Tire.
Ms. Ledbetter was a manager in a Goodyear plant in Gasden, Alabama. A jury found that Goodyear discriminated against her in pay, giving her smaller raises than the male managers, and awarded her $3 million in damages. The Supreme Court, by a 5-4 vote, threw out that award, ruling that Ms. Ledbetter had filed her complaint too late.
It was an ideologically driven decision — one that tossed aside precedent and logic.
After the ruling, Democrats in Congress tried to change how deadlines in equal pay cases are calculated. The House passed the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, but Republicans blocked it in the Senate.
Senator Obama supported the Ledbetter bill. John McCain argued that it was not needed.
Independent and moderate Republican women are likely to be a key swing voting block in November.
The Obama campaign’s top strategists said Thursday that they intend to make at least two special appeals to them.
One is about reproductive choice. Polls show that many women do not know that Senator McCain is strongly anti-abortion. According to a recent report in the Wall Street Journal, Senator McCain will not fight to include exceptions for rape and incest in the Republican Party platform’s call for an abortion ban.
The other issue is equal pay. Ms. Ledbetter, who lost by one vote in the Supreme Court last year, could play a major role in deciding who gets to fill the next vacancies on the court.”

Putting our country first could mean not exporting domestic energy. Could someone like Belle explain what Sarah Palin meant when she was asked if she supported such a ban and gave this answer (it’s on CNN) “Of course, it’s a fungible commodity and they don’t flag, you know, the molecules, where it’s going and where it’s not. But in the sense of the Congress today, they know that there are very, very hungry domestic markets that need that oil first. So, I believe that what Congress is going to do also, is not to allow the export bans to such a degree that it’s Americans who get stuck holding the bag without the energy source that is produced here, pumped here. It’s got to flow into our domestic markets first.”

“equal rights for women” laws have nothing to do with hating women… lol all of you liberals can quit that argument, nobody is falling for it. it has to do with if you put things like this into law, you are opening a whole can of worms for lawsuits and trial lawyers all over the country to do what they do best: whine, file ridiculous lawsuits, and slow the progression of all those with nothing but good intentions in the workforce. its like affirmative action. it sounds good to some, but just creates chaos for the workforce. so if you honestly believe that mccain dislikes women, then go ahead, run out in the street and burn your bra, and vote for obama. sidenote.. its kind of funny how the left has fought for decades for womens rights, and while at the same time they are saying mccain hates them, they bash a woman govenor for trying to run for v.p…. lol just LITTLE bit hypocritical.. ahhhh too funny

Todd Palin, who participates in state business in person or by e-mail, was among 13 people subpoenaed by the Alaska Legislature. Palin’s lawyer sent a letter to the lead investigator saying Palin objected to the probe and would not appear to testify on Friday. . . .
Ignoring a legislative subpoena is punishable by a fine up to $500 and up to six months in jail under Alaska law.

I don’t think Obama contradicted himself when chosing Biden. People can call Biden a Washington insider but judging from his lifestyle that’s not what pops into my mind when I think of Biden.
Biden’s one of the “poorest” seating Senators. His wife was a teacher until he decided to accept the VP nomination. I can’t remember whom in his family works as a waitress at this moment. He had to take a second loan on his house to pay for his daughters college loan. He takes the train home for working in the Senate.
This is a real guy. He nor his wife owns 7+ homes while wearing 3,000 suits. Jill Biden does not war an outfit with a price tag of 300,000.

He knew early on the war with Iraq was a bad idea and all of the bad things he predicted would result from it have indeed happened. Reason # 2. I am voting for Obama because he has the ability to think and analyze before shooting from the hip. We don’t need another impulsive leader like George W. Bush. (see Palin pick, see the “fundamentals of the ecconomy are strong”).
I am voting for Obama because he understands that government should play a role in certain aspects of the democracy such as regulation of financial institutions. McCain has supported the deregulation that has brought this county to a near melt down.
I’m advocating for Obama because of people like you who support their party blindly regardless of the outcome or current state of affairs.

Country first over here is seen as code for white guy first is that how its taken over there ????
This new spin:
“That’s Not Country First; That’s Obama First”
on it makes it seem even more like thats what it means.
Country first would be to vote for the man who’s campaign is paid for by the people. For the guy offering tax cuts to middle America..
Good luck to all the Obama supporters the world is on your side.
Vote on the issues not on the BS.
Good luck people vote smart!
Be the good country you guys used to be.

tim,
I am voting for Obama because he has the ability to think and analyze before shooting from the hip. We don’t need another impulsive leader like George W. Bush. (see Palin pick, see the “fundamentals of the ecconomy are strong”). When he was “thinking and analyzing this week,” others were solving the Wall Street problems that his Fannie Mae supporters created.
I am voting for Obama because he understands that government should play a role in certain aspects of the democracy such as regulation of financial institutions. McCain has supported the deregulation that has brought this county to a near melt down. In 2005 McCain tried to get regulations passed … guess which group said “NO?”
I’m advocating for Obama because of people like you who support their party blindly regardless of the outcome or current state of affairs. I would tell you what group I think you are blindly supporting, but that’s a whole different subject.

wow. ok, joe biden, along with john mccain, are washington insiders.. lol you can spin it anyway you want, but if you have been there as long as the two of them have been, you are an insider. im voting for mccain, and im fully admitting he is an insider. thats just washington. you cant survive there that long without playing the game. and playing the game means, doing things that you dont want to do sometimes. plain and simple. that being said, joe biden just happens to be a far left insider and mccain isnt. thas the only reason im voting for mccain. im a conservative, and i will ALWAYS vote for the closest thing to a conservative when it comes to election time. but dont be fooled and think that joe biden is “above” washington. he’s not. comparing how many houses you have is not justifiable. you cant use the “Real guy” analogy for biden and then not say that sarah palin isnt “more real” because she is a hockey mom who is relatively new on the scene. it just dosent work both ways. we have to vote on how they feel about the issues and not for these petty, media driven issues.

I am voting for Barack Obama because he will have fiscally sound economic priciples and restore our financial institutions. The Republicans have had control for the last eight years. Are you better off than you were eight years ago? How about four years ago?
I am voting for Barack Obama because he will restore our international standing in the world.
I am voting for Barack Obama because he will carefully remove our troops from Iraq and put them into Afghanistan where Al Qaeda is regrouping.
I am voting for Barack Obama because he will help us have affordable health care that will actually help our financial burdens and free up our money for other things.
I am voting for Barack Obama because he will empower young people that want to go to college and work for the United States and their communities for money towards their education.
Why are you voting for McCain? Tell me what he will do for us. Don’t tell me why you won’t vote for Barack Obama, tell me why you are voting for John McCain.

McCain campaign manager Rick Davis paid several hundred thousand dollars to lobby for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac against federal regulation
What did Rick Davis know and when did he know it? Actually, we already know. Wasn’t so relevant in February when it was written. It is now. McCain’s campaign manager’s previous job was ensuring that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac didn’t get regulated by the feds:
Davis, was president of the Homeownership Alliance, a Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac-led advocacy group which has tried to fend off regulation sought by large private banks and mortgage lenders.

It is worth pointing out the following excerpt from Senator McCain’s Book
“Worth the Fighting For: A Memoir” (2002):
“I didn’t decide to run for President to start a national crusade for the political reforms I believed in or to run a campaign as if it were some grand act of patriotism. In truth, I wanted to be President because it had become my ambition to be President. I was sixty-two years old when I made the decision and I thought it was my one shot at the prize.”

ok. at least you had the balls to speak up. first off, why do you say mccain shoots from the hip?! you instantly make the typical comparison to bush which is sooo old already. mccain warned 3 years ago of the ineviteble downfall of freddie and fannie. there is a difference between regulaton and government intervention. dont automatically assume that mccain is against any government regulation, its just not true. the case that obama “thinks and analyzes” before he speaks is pointless. its WHAT COMES OUT OF HIS MOUTH that is important. and, typically, because i come in here speaking against obama, you automatically assume that im a republican. im not. im a conservative. im sickenedby the republicans as of late as well. ill point out their downfalls as quick as a democrats. you lump it all together with the “blinded” supporter comment like you actually believe it is all one party or the others fault!!! THEY ARE BOTH TO BLAME. its just that i still hold my conservative values and thus i will still lean towards voting republican (even if they arent doing the best job lately) and i definately dont agree with most democrats view on the issues. but i have enough common sense, and information that i would NEVER blame just one party or the other. this democratic controlled congress has had over 2 years to show me and PROVE to me they have leadersgip that i could vote for. they have actually found a way to go backwards and make me hate them even more. they have done nothing to advance our government in a positive way. no real ideas. no new ideas. and alot of politcs in order to get votes. they have slowed progress with ridiculous bills that have no chance (intentionally) of getting passed to make it look like the other sides fault. they have shut the lights off and taken vacations while we the people are going through crisis after crisis. a vote for obama will only worsen that. i cant vote for “more of the same”.

The American Public has been deceived!
Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the House, just perpetrated an unbelievable deception on the American people. On Monday, she submitted H.R. Bill 6899 to Congress and demanded a vote take place within 24 hours. On Tuesday evening, 221 Democrats and 15 Republicans passed this bill “the Comprehensive American Energy Security and Consumer Protection Act”. This allows drilling in those areas where there is no oil and extends the moratorium on domestic drilling where there is oil.
I don’t know about you but I’ve had it with Democratic Nancy Pelosi and Barack Obama. They are trying to perpetuate “changes” that will hurt Americans without the approval of the people of this country. Obama took huge amounts of money from Fannie Mae, Obama’s close friend Jim Johnson, CEO, of Fannie May was selected as his advisor to determine the next Vice President of the US. Obama has received 9.9 million from securities and investment firms. Obama has looked the other way at the entire sub-prime mortgage lending problems all the while taking money, and just took more money, money and money. Now Obama expresses grief to home owners—maybe he just didn’t know what was going on. Maybe his judgment is blind when it comes to truthfulness.

mccain the great leader
blaims obama for the crisis, after months and months of saying he hasnt been in washington long enough, now hes to blame for this? LOL
Mccain says obama is getting advised by Reins, but according to everyone except the mccain camp that is an all out lie.
Now whats really funny is that Mccain calls obama out for this, and it turns out to not be true, but there mccain is
hanging with
PHIL GRAMM = the guy who wrote the deregulation laws, that mccain supported that has caused this crisis
RICK DAVIS = Mccains campaign manager lobbied on behalf of freddie and fannie to side step federal regulation
CHARLIE BLACK = mccain top policy advisor was a lobbyist for freddie for ten years
so, lets see mccain accuses obama for having a tie to freddie and fannie and it turns out to be false
and mccain is the one with the ties
and mccain claims its obamas fault for the deregulation
when in fact its mccain who has touted his status as a deregulator and championed phil gramm and his economic views
yea, right, obamas the reason for this mess

First his plan is to lower the costs of health care thus rates will be lowered.
Health It investment to reduce the unnecessary and wasteful spending in the Health Care system. Examples include extra hospital stays because of preventable medical errors and dulpications of expensive procedures and tests.
Improving prevention and management of chronic conditions.
Increasing insurance industry competition and reining in the abusive practices of monopoly insurance and drug companies.
Providing reinsurance for catostrphic cases which will reduce premiums and
Ensuring every American will reduce spending on the uncompensated care of uninsuredpeople who end up in teh emergency rooms and whos care is picked up by institutions and then passed on to their insured individuals.
This plan will realize tremendous savings within the health care system to help finance the plan. The additional revenue needed for the up-front investments to fund the technology and to help people that an not afford health care is more than covered by allowing ther Bush tax cuts to expire for people making more than 250,000 dollars a year.

And America better be smart enough to KNOW that OBAMA is NOT the PERSON who will fix any of these economic problems we face today. OBAMA KNOWS NOTHING OF THE ECONOMY AND IS TAKING THE PRESENT VOTE even at this time … NOT WANTING TO DETAIL HIS APPROACH CAUSE HE KNOWS NOTHING ABOUT HOW TO APPROACH THE PROBLEM. CLINTON IS RIGHT … HILLARY WOULD HAVE BEEN SO MUCH BETTER TO HANDLE THIS PROBLEM THAN OBAMA CAN EVER HOPE TO BE.
I WILL CAST MY VOTE WITH THE MCCAIN/PALIN TICKET … AT LEAST PALIN HAS GOVERNED A STATE WITH A 80% APPROVAL RATING . SHE HAS BALANCED BUDGETS, SUPERVISE DEPARTMENTS … AND SHE IS JUST THE VP CANDIDATE …
OBAMA HAS DONE NOTHING NEAR TO THAT AND HE WANTS TO BE YOUR PRESIDENT??

McCain is hardly in the position to declare Obama is putting the country second. Look at his choice of VP…He couldn’t win with what he brings to the country, so he brings in Palin knowing that the American public has less interest in issues and more interest in entertainment. I doubt McCain even knows enough about his running mate who has taken to saying “Palin-McCain adimistration”. Why then, are people not taking a closer look at what Palin brings to Washington.
As his “energy expert” Palin proposes to ban the export of oil from the US. WHAT. I thought the extent to which we bring oil into the country is the problem. If banning exports is the way to solve this problem…why worry about drill…drill…drill?
And how about Palin attacking Biden for saying paying taxes is patriotic. I suppose it is ok for China, Russia, and oil exporting nations (Alaska is not included in this since they have not seceded yet) own 30.1% of the national debt as of July 2008.. I hate to think what they will own after we borrow to pay for last weeks market meltdown.
And let’s not forget Palin’s values on women and children issues. As the McCain campaign stated…it was because the Commissioner of Public Safety was seeking more money to deal with the child sexual abuse and rape problems in Alaska. Rape in Alaska is 2.3 times the national average and child sexual abuse is reported to be 6 times the national average. I guess McCain thought Palin’s action was great because Palin to bold action on pork barrel spending. This is just an outrage and the Republican Party should be ashamed for permitting Palin on the ticket for this action alone.
And let’s think about Palin’s fiscal responsibility. Palin comes into the mayor’s office in a city that starts with a budget surplus and leaves the city MILLIONS of dollar in debt. That is a city with a population, of what, 6700. Just think of what the Palin administration can do with the US population of 280 million plus. This transition from surplus to debt sounds familiar.
Now combine that with Palin’s running mate (John McCain). McCain has always considered himself an advocate of deregulation and has acted on deregulation. His name is on numerous bills that deregulated the banking industry. He has reformed and reformed and reformed during his so many years in the Senate. So it is true he is a reformer..but, it seems he has helped reform America into fiscal disaster.
Combine his foreign expertise (bomb..bomb Iran – did he really think the loss of life associated with that was funny…) along with Palin’s (I can see Russia from my window) and we have a winning combination of arrogance and incompetence that will deal with the global problems that surround us.. Sound familiar?
So with the Palin-McCain admisinistration (Palin’s words not mine), we will solve energy by banning exports of what we import, let rape and child molestation run rampant because trying to solve it is pork barrel spending, get the fox into the hen house as a solution to solving the problems with deregulation, and let China, Russia, and those oil exporting nations own more of us because Americans paying for what they want is not patriotic.
…And as the Palin-McCain administration takes the oath of office in January 2009…we can all proudly wave those small American flags blind to the fact they were made in China as surely as the fireworks we shoot off on the 4th of July.
To paraphrase a famous comic strip character “We have met the enemy..and it is us”.

Emily I don’t know where you get your facts, but per capita cost for full medical, prescription, dental and vision coverage, without seeking profit for the insurance, is $3300 per year, per person. The high cost of premiums is to insure profits for the insurance companies, not to provide coverage. Set a decent margin for profit for medical procedures and then the health care industry becomes one of providing top service to draw in patients. A single payer system is the best answer to health care.

I love polls outside the .US . I compare their view to a bad relationship.
When you’re in a bad relationship you are blind to what’s going on inside it. It’s your friends that see you in this relationship and have to open your eyes up to what’s really going on. Then when you finally break it off you see everything they saw that was bad.
Bush/GOP = Bad Relationship
Everyone outside the USA looking in = Our friends trying to open our eyes
No wonder they like Obama, they’ve seen how badly the GOP has screwed us the past 8 years.

Health Insurance
For every dollar spent on private healthcare only 44 cents is spent on actual care. Rest goes to shareholders, Higher paid CEOs and Admin
Public system Health Care
For every Dollar spent 94 cents spent on actual Health Care. Government admin would cost 6 cents per dollar!
While Barack healthcare is better than McCains giving you the same care as a senators gets. If you guys really cared youd go public and allow people to buy top up private health care like Australia, Canada and the UK.

McCain helped de-regulate the banks, and they went crazy with greed. Just like when they de-regulated the telephone companys and my bill went from $9.00 a month to $40.00 a month. We don’t need any more of Republican and Grandpa McCain de-regulation so the rich can get richer.

There are only a few questions Americans will never have to ask themselves about John Mccain:
Who is this man?
Can you trust him with the Presidency?
Furthermore, WHo would you rather have managed your money – John Mccain or BArack Obama?
Those are the questions many Americans must ask themselves this November.
WHo would you trust to handle your money in these times of Geo Political and economic crises. A man who has already lived his life and is successful or a man who is looking to enrich himself and his alllies and who wasted $66 million working on the Annenberg project.
When you can answer those questiosn honestly, you will know who to vote for this election.

We know McCain puts Country First so last Sunday he took in a Nascar race the day after Hurricane Ike hit.
Today, the day after the announcement of a $700 billion government bailout, “he’s attending his 50th reunion and taking in a football game with his son at the Naval Academy”, according to Politico’s Jonathan Martin.

As mayor of Wasilla a town that was so small it didn’t even have a police force Palin took it from a surplus and left it $33 million in debt!
Palin was a highly polarizing political figure who brought partisan politics and hot-button social issues like abortion and gun control into a mayoral race that had traditionally been contested like a friendly intramural contest among neighbors.

concerned in OH…actually you referred to sen. bidens son, lobbyist, actually palins son and bidens son will be in iraq at same time , if i read correctly, and at the dnc, his son said he was not a lobbyist anymore. One of mcains lobbyists is close friends with the georgian president, who started the war with ossettia, when he was elected, he swore to get back those territories and he attacked them first, russia defended them, since all these years, it was their preference never to be georgian again, so…..more proof to me that palin/mcain administration, as she billed herself, would represent more undeserved anger and unwise and unprovoked military action against people that we have no business messing with on the basis of what their freinds tell them.

Your attempts to make an issue of “Mcsame” is at least somewhat an exercise in distortion.

That’s one of the most breathtakingly dishonest and manipulative political speeches I’ve ever heard.
“I know,” said Sen. McCain, “that the events unfolding can be difficult for most people to understand.” Subtext: In fact, I’m counting on it.
He’s counting on people’s inability to understand that Obama did not move into the Senate two years ago with some cronies and engineer an economic crisis whose roots go back decades.
He’s counting on people not to know that the executive branch does not hold the purse strings, much less have the unilateral power to change fiscal policy “immediately.”
His grin at each applause line is not even good showmanship. A carnival huckster with as transparent a face would lose his job.
Ka-ching go the political points, and John McCain grins. That’s not country first, that’s McCain first.
Jake — some analysis of the lies and manipulation, please?

ed….if obama would have chosen hillary…. you are wrong…If obama would have chosen hillary as vp, i would not have wanted him, because we all want our politicians to be honest, his choice of biden was excellent, and shows he was thinking of america and what was best in case something should happen to him while pres….i did not want another clinton white house, but then again mcvain and failin, are not even close to having the honesty , qualifications, and deserved chances at the vp and presidency as much as hillary, i hope biden choses her (hillary) as a member of his cabinet.as for palin, my babysitters are more thoroughly checked out than palin was, and never would i leave my kids with someone like palin or mcvain. failin cannot even come close to representing me., she is an insult to all straight american women who put family values first.Every good american mother has executive experience because of balancing the budgets, crisis because of keeping peace in the family, etc, but a woman who has neglected her family for political aspirations shows up in the values her family exhibits from the values they saw everyday while growing up. as Jacqueline Kennedy once said, that if you fail instilling the right things in your children, she could not imagine that anything else you do with your life would mean very much, since i also believe children are a gift of god, and they require all the love and attention to help them stay straight and strong to avoid all the temptations of the world, especially in the teen years. I also believe that if raised right,by example, they would not have to chose between abortion or adoption or whatever. ..but i agree with jackie, fail with your children, and it is a pretty safe bet that you will fail in other capacities where your leadership is depended upon, I vote for obama/biden who have aready prove the great example of good judgement in their children.

Obama is the nation’s Number One Cheerleader for economic misery, despair and negativity. Just as he whined that his words were being twisted on himearlier in the year, he turns around and does the same to McCain this week. McCain said the economy’s fundamentals were strong. Excuse me people, do we not all agree that the economic principles which this country was founded on have weathered every severe crisis we could encounter. McCain stated the truth and then, like the leader he is and will be, noted the severe pain being fel by Americans. Still…the principles by which our economy is built are sound and resilent.
Obama hopes for a massive Great Depression and refuses to acknowledge anything positive about America.

Obama could respond by saying this about John McCain. It’s Not Country First, it’s Party First. With that ridiculous pick of Palin the so-called maverick caved in to his party instead of picking either Libermann or Ridge, who he really wanted. McCain didn’t have the guts to put America’s interest first otherwise he wouldn’t have chosen someone who would really put our national security at risk. What a joke. It’s obvious McCain is trying to pick a fight to try to distract from his major gaffe this week about the ecomony being fundamentally sound. Too late John you’ve already said it and no matter what you do from here on in no one is going to forget it and you’re going to lose a lot of votes because of it!

Was it the Obamabots who insisted on Friday night for the debate? That way they can control the reaction of either candidate’s performance for two days through the MSM. Also, It also means there will be fewer viewers. I seem to remember that the only agreement they could get on McCain’s proposal for joint town hall meetings was one (which never came about) on the 4th of July when, of course, nobody would have been watching. Obama’s a coward. Also, re the polls: let’s not forget the Bradley Effect. It could be significant.

Vote4peace– I know it is now an article of faith for Democrats to insist that McCain wanted to pick Lieberman or Ridge and caved in choosing Palin. Do you know McCain personally, that you can speak with such authority about his personal feelings on this matter? I do not recall seeing any public (or private) statement by McCain that supports that logic. I am quite sure he will put his friend Lieberman in his cabinet. I am also sure he considered him as a running mate.
However, I am also quite sure that in the end, McCain and his inner circle made the Palin choice for the right reasons– because she fit into his plans as a maverick, an outsider, and a reformer. She had the same positives as the other short-lister– Pawlenty– along with intangibles Pawlenty could not provide in terms of gender (yes, I’ll admit it) and charisma. It was a bold and a strong choice. It was NOT a choice dictates to John McCain. Who on earth in the Republic Party do you think has the ability to force McCain to do anything he didn’t want to do? His choice was Palin was anything but a ‘cave in to the party.’ What an odd notion.
I would also take strong exception to your characterization of her as “putting national security at risk.” What are you smoking? In what way would she do this? She’ll be fine, and in conjunction with the strong cabinet and team of advisors that McCain will assemble, she will support McCain well.

If you all want LESS government then vote for McCain, A vote for Obama is a vote in the wrong direction. People are beginning to see Obama for what he really is a fake and a person who doesn’t have a clue. Say what you want about McCain but HE WILL shake things up in D.C. and that needs to be done to have any change take place.

Gov. Palin is the perfect choice for McCain. Not only has he caused the Dems to scramble and reach for anytning no matter how bizarre to discredit Palin but choosing Palin will get him women votes, the NRA, the religious wing, pro lifers, those that WANT us to drill in Alaska among other voters. It was a brilliant move on McCains part. Watch stories of McCain years ago on what he stands for vs. now virtually a mirror image, so say what you want about him he hasn’t hedged on his beliefs, Obama, no one knows his because he keeps changing them to suit the public.

Kind of sad Obama has served what LESS then 2 years in the senate, voted Present over 60% of the time, has a 23 year association with a pastor that preaches hate and disharmony, doesn’t respect the flag of the U.S. Doesn’t value the principles this country was founded on and has a wife that has says she has been embarrassed to be an american until now. Do we really think he is the type person we need to lead this country. If so GOD help us, Obama sure won’t.

I wouldn’t say McCain caved in by picking Palin to be his VP on the contrary he would have “caved” in had he chosen either Ridge or Liberman. McCain showed his true maverick form by going outside the mainstream and choosing a virtual unknown but an unknown that you can’t deny has shaken the dems. I’m as far from a political follower as you can get and even I can see that had McCain chosen either Liberman or Ridge HE would have caved in to pressure from his own party and those around him. How can one think Palin is caving in. Did any of us outside of Alaske know who Palin was before McCain picked her.

Hey everyone listen up, Alot of people voted for change in 2006 by voting the Dems back into control of both houses, where are we are now as a country? High gas prices, high food prices, job less rate going up. Oh I forgot you all blame Bush even though BUSH doesn’t make laws or policy the DEMOCRATIC CONTROLLED CONGRESS AND SENATE DOES!! Guess you all don’t want to think about that huh? I do agree with the dems though yes WE DO NEED CHANGE, put the GOP back in power of both houses.
Posted by: Al | September 20, 2008, 11:26 pm 11:26 pm
Obama didn’t vote present 60% of the time. He sponsored and co-sponsored a total of nearly 700 bills.
And voting present is a tactic used by Senators when they agree with the bills intents but not with its specifications. This is to signal that they are not rejecting the bill but want some amendments.
If you’re patriotic, McCain, you don’t have to shout how loudly you are. People will be able to see that from your actions. And I don’t think you should be questioning Obama’s patriotism and insinuating that if people vote for Obama, they’re not being patriotic.

No, I know she said she wanted to use diplomacy, but the way she put it was quite undiplomatic.
Her understanding of the NATO alliance was like that of a gang “You beat one of ours, and we’ll beat the stuffing out of you,” or like “you shot one of our men! That’s it! Bring in the calvary!” NATO is mainly an alliance for DETERRENCE. The thing is that she didn’t seem to grasp how carefully she must craft her words when talking about sensitive issues such as the strained ties between Russia and the US.
She immediately said “Perhaps so,” to a war, instead of saying “We will do our best to resolve things peacefully, and I certainly hope no such situation will arise. However, if the situation calls for it, I think we should honour our NATO alliance.” Like you said, some people twisted it out of context even though she said some other stuff earlier.
PRECISELY the point. Imagine she is VP of the US. She says “Perhaps so” to a war, and the Russians cut off the rest and keep boradcasting her “perhaps so” so what would the other Russians think? Or even if they showed the whole thing, many people would preceive her as being aggressionist. Her phrasing and thinking is such that it makes it all-too easy for people to misconstrue her words on such serious issues.

Perception can be a powerful tool. If I was Mrs. Obama I would perceive myself that way too. As for Palin, I may approve of her as McCains running mate but that doesnt meant I approve or agree with everything she has done, I don’t know anyone who agrees with everything their elected official has done or sponsored or voted for.

And about Michelle Obama’s proud to be an American, what was she referring too?
She was ashamed, not of the American people, but the way the government had behaved in the past eight years. America’s standing had been dragged down, and many people have come to hate America and feel that America is an imperialist oppressor. Bush’s admin’s record of imprisoning people of other countries without trial, while we proclaim ourselves to be a shining beacon of human rights and freedom. The HR abuses in Iraq, by the private contractors hired by the govt.

the reason we disagree with you is because all those stuff is not true. If you disagreed with say, Obama’s take that we shouldn’t try to negotiate with Iran, that’s fine, you see it differently. But all these things such as whether he’s patriotic isn’t true. Obama spent time talking to the soldiers (not just the generals) in Iraq. You can find photographs. I am sure he could not go to all the trouble to doctor them without being called out on it.

Disgusting, as a politician Republican or Democrat you ALWAYS visit the ones in harms way and the generals very rarely ARE NOT in the front lines. Anybody can claim to be close to the issues if they back it up with reams of information.
That doesn’t mean the information is true.
The hard thing, and what most Americans are unwilling to take the time to do is
to find the truth for yourself. I’m not going to claim the Obama is a Saint,
but when the slander gets so deep that it is inconceivable someone could get where they are after 12 years of public scrutiny, well,.. it probably isn’t true.

That’s unfortunate indeed, Leonard Peltier.
If you insist on going by that, Al, what about McCain and the Keating 5? Or perhaps his moral character based on his having an affair with Cindy while his first wife was crippled in a car accident? Or Palin’s subjecting her pregnant daughter to the scrutiny of 300million people, and more from around the world?
Joe Biden’s first wife and daughter died in a car accident. His sons were critically injured too, all on the day he was supposed to be sworn in to the Senate. He stayed at the hospital, and was sworn in by their bedside. Obama insisted on taking his daughters to school on their first day to get settled in, because he knew he wouldn’t get to see them as often once the campaign got underway. His campaign says whenever they have their prayers, he never says “Pray for my campaign” but “Pray for Michelle and the girls”.

The fun is over. Like a good movie, and it comes to mind, sex in the city; the Mcain/Palin sensation should be worn out and totally washed out from our digestive system. Now it is time to have mercy on America. She has gone through tremendous traumas the past eight years. From mother nature direct hits to the current administration. A real civic act at this point would be to treat her with some TLC and we know the republican ticket does not have that in mind. This is a time of awakening, one should be assertive and agressive. She needs our help to recover. For so long she has been there for us, has stood by us, has made us proud. Today is the day when every American should ask themselves: “what can I do for America?” We have done the bailing out of the giants. That was great work. Now is time to set her free. I hope no American plans to hand her over in November to the republican ticket for another 4 years of trauma. Will she survive it? I know she has been singing “I will survive” for a long time. Please have mercy on her, let her catch her breath with the democratic ticket. Have mercy on America.

More and more middle Republicans are voting Obama, not because he is Democrat, but because McCain is being led by his Far Right Tycoons. Republicans, like me feel he is letting his lobbiest speak for him, which has been giving McCain a bad rep. He needs to come closer to middle America and fight for a long term American way, and not side with his ‘quick buck’ lobbiests. Even the unions are starting to look at a long term effect, McCain can not support. We are starting to discuss, his non support for education issues at a younger level. It starts when the children are at a young age. Not just in high school. Obama has a support of military families, that want to see their sons and daughters again. Thank you Obama, for giving us a ‘hope’, in America, again.

—————————————-
Um, I think if you dip your toe into history, you’ll find that more than a few blacks had voted for Clinton and likely a few other white men who failed to win the election.
Anyway, if that is your definition of racism then it isn’t something that you don’t understand. Make no mistake, I’m white, but I have seen what it is to be a non-white in our society and it involves a lot more than bigoted views on electoral alignment on the basis of race.

Honestly, is Palin really a reformer? Yes, she did expose some Republicans for corruption, but the Troopergate issue looks suspicious. Her husband and her stuff violated subpoenas issued by the Senate investigation team (which is bi-partisan, may I add). She has been trying to get her legislators to block the investigation as of late. What has she got to hide? It looks bad on her if she tries to hold up the investigation instead of cooperating.
And I don’t like how she keeps saying she opposed the Bridge to Nowhere even when she’s been called out on it by everyone.

By the way I am a white woman and I will be voting for Obama because he is the best candidate for our country hands down. Well, the US is a free country, right? So people can believe what they want, but if you’re in a position to make laws, you’ve got to RESPECT other people’s beliefs, and ensure that laws give them the freedom to practise that as much as it gives you yours.
This is where I am uncomfortable about Palin. She said she believed Roe vs Wade should be overturned. I mean, I understand if she’s pro-life, she has every right to express her opinion to a rape victim that she doesn’t believe they should kill the child or to advocate and write about her views, but she think such that her pro-life beliefs have the right to be ENFORCED on everyone.
No one is pro-abortion. They are just pro-choice. At least, with Roe vs Wade, you can be pro-life if you want- and mothers who have been assaulted perhaps, are given a choice as to whether they want to carry the child. Does she think about the kind of quality of life a child that is the product of a rape may face, if the mother did not willingly want to carry the baby to full term?
I don’t take too kindly to McCain’s dig that if you support Obama, you’re not being patriotic. I thought he said he wasn’t going to question Obama’s patriotism too? Seems like he has thrown that out of the window along with his maverick status and honor he used to possess. Sad.

McCain is desperate to be a President
Friday, September 19, 2008 John McCain, using his starkest language to date to define the election, told voters Friday that Americans have a simple choice when they cast their ballots in November.“Country first or Obama first,” he said, repeating a new rhetorical barb that he unveiled Thursday night. While the GOP presidential nominee has long made “country first” the motto of his campaign, he usually leaves unstated the implicit message that his rival Barack Obama is not putting national interests above his own ambition.
Who is John McCain?
Robert Mugabe, Zimbabwe!
You vote for me.
Or CHAOS!
He support deregulations and then argue about the circus of Wall Street .A person who talk against the Government but he favors the government interference .A person who pick the V-president nominee only after one meeting
What you can say about his judgment? Oh just a minute he said the fundamentals of the economy are strong .Probably he was thinking about the family Business.
Was hilarious to watch Cindy McCain, when Sen. McCain on his speech talks about the big salaries of the CEO’s, and how greedy they are.
What makes a President is the right Judgment. Be cool like cucumber in time of crisis. Not have 7 houses or family business valued at hundred of millions of dollars. Do not necessary have the temper to pick a fight but the temper to fight every day makes life of the community better.
I don’t have any problem in characterizing McCain .He is a Republican! According to his own campaign, Republicans are corrupt and incompetent.
Obviously he has inside information.

historyforgotten,
Yeah, right, you’re a “middle Republican” about like I’m a mermaid. Drop the act. It is clear from your numerous posts that you are NOT a republican in any way, shape, or form. Not that all Republicans think in lockstep– in fact, as a truly moderate Republican, one reason I have been a huge McCain fan for decades is that he is NOT a far right republican. I am anxious for those of us who are more economically-oriented, small-government Republicans to regain control of our party from the social right forces that have dominated in recent years. To suggest that MCCain is a product of the far right, rather than a pragmatic leader who does indeed have many socially conservative ideas including being against abortion, is simply not accurate.
Oh, and NO, Tony Rezko did not do major fundraising for john McCain. We’re not gonna share that mess with Sen. Obama.
STOP THE ASTROTURFING.

Foreclosure,
Urgh, the resemblance is similar, now that you pointed out. The other guy is SOMEONE who is NOT PATRIOTIC! He puts America LAST! He’ll do anything to satisfy his political ambitions! Don’t be fooled, he just wants power and will cause chaos!
You know, that’s what the Afrikaner govt would say about Nelson Mandela. The Africans were just power-hungry, they would do no good for the country, will throw the white men into the sea, blahblah. I think the Afrikaners are still living there, last I checked.
Not comparing Obama to Mandela, Mandela is a great man and his own person, but yeah. Just trying to show the comparison where people try to question their opponent’s patriotism. A truly patriotic person will not have to say such things to show how much he loves his country or how he is a better choice.

Mr McCain,
You have placed yourself first instead of our country. You brought in an unqualified small town religious idiot just to lure white hockey mums to vote for you.
Did you think of what she would do if you die before you complete your term? She would bring the US to global disaster and probably create a trend in teenage pregnancies.
Mr McCain, were you so desperate to get your way? You ditched your 1st wife when she was injured and in need. It seems like you are doing the same to your country. That saddens me and many other Americans.

FOreclosure,
Aren’t you guys tired of pushing that “John McCain says the fundamentals of the economy are strong” junk? You willfully ignore the rest of his statement on the matter, even the REST OF THAT SENTENCE. McCain made the point that we are having major problems at the moment, and that many in America are suffering because of the economic crisis. However, I agree with him that beneath it all, the bedrock fundamentals of our economic system are strong. We have a talented and skilled work force, innovative entrepreneurship, the most diverse economy in the world, etc. etc. In times of panic, American leaders have traditionally taken care to emphasize that, regardless of the current travails, the American economy is fundamentally strong and will right itself if handled properly. John McCain’s statements are in keeping with this tradition. I find his steadfast leadership reassuring and I know that when he is sworn in in January, he and his economic team will continue the good work being done by Paulson and Bernanke to fix the mess we are in.

Actually being a Republican doesn’t make one far conservitive. I have been more liberal these last 4 years. Bush failed me. I was for McCain until eight months ago, he started double talking. I was held in check until Palin came out. I thought she was interesting until I read Wasiles old newspapers, and say how she effected Alaska. America does not need a band aid. It needs a change. Palin seemed more like a bad dream. I do not agree with all of Obamas views, but lately McCain and Palin has not met my standards. Being a Republican does not make you a Tycoon wanna be. A Republican can wish for more green energy, for a step in the future. Being a Republican does not mean I have to live a ‘quick buck’ life. Reagan was a good man, but Nixon I disagreed with. Clinton, well, no comment. Bush was great in the beginning, then his star faded for me. Being a Republican does not mean I have to be a militant extremist. So, I am not a Right Winger. This year I am a more Liberal Republican. Sounds funny I know, but I understand what all the classifications are.

What the ostrich and the Republicans have in common.Let me guess
Both hide their head on the sand and pretend everything is fine
An ostrich bury its head in the sand and pretend everything is fine
Republicans do the same and follow McCain
America and the world is suffering with the blunders of Bush Administration
The economy have crumple and the prosperity of many people are under risk not only in America but also worldwide.
Because America doesn’t stand alone world have turn into a very small place and everything is linked
John McCain and Sarah Palin promise of change: Is a change to Nowhere
This election is not only about some bridge in Alaska it is about all the bridges and roads in all the o United States because they are all crying out for repairs and maintenance. This is because for the last 8 years the Bush and the Republicans havespent enormous amounts to build up Iraq and they have forgotten about the needs of their own country.

It came across to me as simply to shout something to appeal to people, to hell with whether it’s even feasible or possible.

It is really sad once analyze why McCain select Palin for running mate.
The only criterion was how he could win this election despite the best interest of the country and the American Remember ** Governor Romney spent the last year campaigning for the Republican presidential nomination and talking to the American people about the importance of strengthening our economy**
And we are listening Sarah Palin, overconfident untrained rigid and answering with out vacillation
Yes I am ready to be President like that job is similar to a manager position on the local Wall Mart shop.
The same person last month was saying if some can explain to me what the Vice President do?
The financial institutions are bankrupt. The dollar super weak
The military are stressed out dangerously. Factories and jobs move overseas.
Home owners become homeless. The allies are pushed away. The states in the Gulf of Mexico in pieces .The Saudis milking what wealth have left .And Jon McCain worry about the judgment of OBAMA?
The Republican ticket!
John McCain (We bomb everything)
Sarah Palin (I see Russia from my house)
His aged and ambitious
She is young and motivated.
For him is the last chance to be President
For her the last chance to be his cheerleader.
Their story SPIN, LIES and LIPSTICK

Yes. How can you NOT blink or even hesitate for a moment when someone asks you to possibly take up the job of he VP of the United States of America? Is she so impulsive that the thought of her pregnant daughter or newborn special needs child did not even flit once into her mind?
I am not saying she should being staying at home to raise her children. But as Governor, at least she could see her children in the evening after work. As VP, her youngest child could grow up not knowing his mother at all-a mother’s love and care cannot be replaced.

Remember also she told Sean Hannity, that she wanted to ask her children first, before saying ‘yes’ to VP. So did she lie to Gibson or did she lie to Hannity. Sean asked her a few ‘Gotcha’ questions. But I am not sure, if even he noticed.

John McCain and Sarah Palin want to be elected like Republicans but they are trying to avoid to discuss issues critical for the American families. And portraying themselves like reformers because they are embarrassed of the last 8 years of the Republicans –Bush Administration.
Is the Republican Party in the need of urgent reform because is out of touch with the everyday life of the American people.
Americans want answers to they problems they want better healthcare they want better pay they don’t want just change because that sounds good on election time, they want change from the Bush policies.
This election is not only about some bridge in Alaska it is about all the bridges and roads in all of United States because they are all crying out for repairs and maintenance. This is because for the last 8 years the Bush and the Republicans have spent enormous amounts to build up Iraq and they have forgotten about the needs of their own country.
Our libraries and schools should offer all the choices of books and facilities to give to our kids the tools not only to build a better future for them but also for this country.
John McCain and Sarah Palin promise of change: Is a change to Nowhere.
Nowhere near to help the American people with a real economic change
Nowhere near to bring troops home safely.
Nowhere near to build America’s independence from oil.
Nowhere near to help the 95% of the American families.
Nowhere near to help the entrepreneurs and working families to keep jobs in America.
Nowhere near to provide the medical care reform for the American people and the Veterans who they are not fought for the red and blue states of the electoral map
They fought against the terror and to keep America on the map.
Barack Obama and Joe Biden probably don’t have all the answers to the problems of the America’s working families or farmers or the people under the fear of loosing their homes. Because of the failing economic policies of the Bush administration.
But they are ready to answer to the Americans for their policies and take responsibility for their decisions if they are elected to the White House
Barack Obama is ready not only to lead Americans back to the American dream but also to be sure his family and your families and daughters and sons are part of this dream.America is a multi cultural, multi ethnic melting pot. Americas wealth was build also by African slaves Asian rail workers Latin Americans farm workers on the land of native Indians from white Europeans. Today this it is called THE AMERICAN DREAM!

I find Palin’s comment kind of fishy now that you mention it.
WHICH pregnant-out-of-wedlock seventeen year-old would want to have 300 million people scrutinising such a tough time for her?
Posted by: Grey Matter | September 21, 2008, 10:18 am 10:18 am
Has anyone heard about Palins ‘Road to No-Where’? She still supported a road that was to lead to the bridge, but with no bridge, the road is just there.:)
And she said ‘no’ to the Bridge. This is why I can not go along with her. McCain can still save face for me. Maybe.

historyforgotten,
“Remember also she told Sean Hannity, that she wanted to ask her children first, before saying ‘yes’ to VP. So did she lie to Gibson or did she lie to Hannity. Sean asked her a few ‘Gotcha’ questions. But I am not sure, if even he noticed.”
I had forgotten about that part. It stuck me as very odd that she asked only her girls and stated flatly that she did not seek her oldest son’s opinion. Men don’t count?!
Obama/Biden 08!

Hannity interview with Sarah Palin was full of charm and she looks so confident and savvy, because of so many rehearsals. (if you noticed before she answer the questions she was glance vaguely to the left0
But how effective can it be for independent voters .The program is mostly watched by “right wing conservatives” and fox news viewers they will be vote for McCain

foreclosure-I used to watch Fox news for years. Only for this election, have I been turned off towards their unfair, and unbalanced view. ABC has proven the most unbiased, bringing forth all candidates, and telling of their no-no’s.

Concerned in Ohio…Please stop with the BS! I am a homebuilder and I can guarantee you that the housing crisis has NOTHING TO DO with affirmative action mandates. It has everything to do with Corporate Greed by Mortgage lenders and some builders and appraisers. They loaned money to anyone with a pulse and many lenders falsified documents so they could do the loans. Families and our economy have been devastated by this greed not by fair housing regulations. The more I read your posts the more you sound like a racist. How sad that someone bases their views of a person by the color of their skin.

What McCain & the Republicans are trying to sell is a metaphor for an America that doesn’t really exist, or maybe one that could be found 60 years ago. They seem to say look, it’s America and everything will be OK… just by saying the word America. That may work in the movies but not in reality. There’s nothing wrong with ‘saluting he flag’ or being ‘patriotic’.. but,.that is not a cure for any of the problems that can be found in the U.S. today.
McCain will get near half the vote just by using the ‘we’re American’s’ slogan… and saying that he’s gonna ‘fix the problem’, ‘ fix the problem’….. next I can imagine him saying “2 chickens in every pot”.
This country needs some real updating and work, not version 2.0… but something around 6.0 Republicans can’t that, their mindset will not allow it to happen, and they’re claims of reform are bogus.
That’s not to say that nirvana will be achieved with the Dems, but it has a slightly better chance as the Democratic party is just more diverse and open in it’s vision.

If McCain and the rest of the Republicans do so well with their constituencies, why are the local banks in the red states failing? Could it be unemployment related? Isn’t that where cheap property was abundant (ripe for property flipping)?
“It’s not just giant Wall Street investment banks that are hitting the rocks. Federal authorities moved Friday to seize Ameribank, Inc., a small community bank with eight branches in West Virginia and Ohio.”

To Foreclosure:
Health Care was a hold over from the Clinton admisistration, Hillary couldn’t come thru, remember?
Bridges and roads are paid for by fuel taxes both federal and state, then maintained by state.
What is missing from schools is the 3 R’s and physical education. Physical education is no longer offered to the “nerds” therefore they are overweight (fat).
Mr.Obama tried to keep the troops in Iraq by asking the Iraqi’s to hold off troop realighment untill AFTER the U.S. elections. No congress or president has done a thing about oil dependancy PERIOD. If 95% of Americans need help then we must be a thirdworld country.
The clintom admisistration started the deregulaion problem in 1998 to “Make housing affordable to all Americans”. The financial oversight committees are all chaired by democrats, Sen Dodd (D)-Chair banking committee, Rep Waxman (D) House oversight committee, Rep Franks (D) House financial committee.
Sen Obama couldn’t give us his opinion or thoughts regarding this financial crisis because “HE DIDN’T HAVE ANY”.

Hey did you all see the new Obama/Biden flap???
Sen. Barack Obama better not mess with his running mate Joe Biden’s guns…or else.
In an out-of-nowhere attempt to re-assure a southwestern Virginia labor crowd about gun owners’ rights, Biden — who regularly scores “F” ratings from the National Rifle Association — warned Obama that if “he tries to fool with my Beretta, he’s got a problem.”
“I guarantee you Barack Obama ain’t taking my shotguns, so don’t buy that malarkey,” Biden said Saturday at the United Mine Workers of America’s annual fish fry in Castlewood, Virginia. “Don’t buy that malarkey. They’re going to start peddling that to you.”

Has everyone noticed that the republicans are so ashamed of their record since 2000 that you don’t see Bush & Cheney ever mentioned here or lauded by them as having a superior administration.
pretty revealing…

Rex,
They aren’t Republicans anymore.
They aren’t deregulators anymore.
They have left their uniforms on the battlefield and fled their own ideals.

Her political experience may not be excessive BUT:
Sarah Palin has worked as the successful adminstrator of large budgets and staff, and has mediated with big business (oil) in a way which was beneficial to her constituents.
She is also the Commander of the Alaska National Guard, a title which includes Palin overseeing military units whose duties encompass serving overseas, search-and-rescue missions across the state’s vast landscape and manning key elements of the U.S. missile defense system at Ft. Greely.
These responsibilities were handled so well that Sarah Palin received an overwhelming 80% favorable rating by her state.
Aside from doing an excellent job of raising… and spending…. money for
his campaign, what management positions has Obama undertaken and successfully completed?
Nada!
McCain and Palin!

Is anyone aware that Putin is discussing arming Venezuela with troops and missiles in response to our country’s quasi-support of Georgia’s
actions against Russia?
Be very careful who you put into office this November, or we might find ourselves with no money in the bank but a chicken in every pot….. and an atomic bomb in the middle of our lap!
