Obama and McCain Vie for Women

Our GMA report from this morning can be watched HERE.

How can McCain claim Palin is just like him?
As Governor of Alaska, Palin’s state is…
- #1 in taxes
- #1 in federal funding per citizen (despite being #18 in federal taxes)
- #1 in spending
- #1 in per citizen earmark requests
- Taxes oil companies and uses the money to give back to their citizens (just like Obama’s oil plan, but opposite McCain’s).
Palin herself raised the taxes on oil companies and gave each Alaskan an additional $1200 for gas. This is what Obama has supported, but McCain opposes.
Palin even filed expense reports when she was staying at her own home.
Palin spent thousands of Alaskan tax payer dollars flying her family around.
Does McCain realize Palin supports Obama’s proposals?

McCain picked Palin because she’s a young pretty woman, not because she’s qualified. And then they cry sexism and make her a damsel in distress. She doesn’t even know anything about the economy.
As a woman I am offended by this.

The media should vet Obama! He has been cuddled by the media as their God-child who must be protected from scrutiny! Now, the media wants blood from Palin! Draw some from Obama, get to his Harvard funding, his earmarks/pork barrell ($1million a day of taxpayer money for Obama)! Cha-Cha-Ching.. Change that you can believe in!

Read the polls you might not have brought it but the rest of them have Dems a screwed Palin is a real GOP woman of God!
She was put there by Rove!
McCain will not be President long!
Our pittbull will be the winner!

Women who supported Hillary knew that she understands fully what she is talking about.
The gaffe Palin made yesterday in Colorado about Fannie & Freddie showed a lack of understanding about one of the key economic issues.
You would like to think someone who is going to be VP and conceivable President would know Fannie & Freddie do!
To not having a clue, tells a lot how she will tackle the entire economy.
Slowly, slowly we are starting to know how much she is not capable of.

Pelosi, the DNC, Oprah and the MSM, have tried to convince us that Obama is God’s gift to all of us–to the world.
Obama yesterday said “Americans aren’t stupid”.
He’s right. Most of us are not stupid enough not to fall for his BS.

Mr Obama take note.
Sarah Palin did not have to spend 100 million dollars.
Sarah Palin did not have to stage big shows.
She actually showed up, worked and did her job she got paid to do.
That is why people respect her.
Not that she is a woman, Because she cares about the job she does.
She might have made a mistake here and their, but she learn quickly from it and worked to over come it.
Hillary is another Dedicated worker. Who took her job seriously.
It is not only woman who respect them.
The amount of men who voted for Hillary would astound you. Those still do not want Obama.

Posted by: seah | September 9, 2008, 12:02 pm 12:02 pm

I don’t care what the polls say. The only poll that counts is the one on election day.
You say Rove picked her? More evidence that McSameBush is not his own man. He made a propaganda film for the Vietnamese.

“For those who think that the swing towards Palin is just a women thing, well here is another surprise for Obama the rock star”
Go watch the video of Palin shooting with our troops overseas. She handles it like a pro. poor Obama or Biden would of been sent flying by the kickback.

Posted by: geevill | September 9, 2008, 12:03 pm 12:03 pm

Jenny as woman I, and all women should be offended by your comment. You sound like the person gossiping at the office water cooler that the new Latina manager got her job because of affirmative action.
If Palin is not qualified to be VP.Then Obama is certainly not qualified to be President. She is a governor of Alaska. I don’t care how big or small the state is. Like Hawaii where Obama was born, Alaska is a state . Obama was the SENATOR of Illinois. Bill Clinton was a Governor. Hillary is a senator. Eisenhower had a military career before running for president.
Your statement put women back. I don’t care if your are for Obama or McCain. You statement is not helping women.
For the sake of argument lets say she was chosen for those reasons of being “pretty” and young then I would suggest that she proves them wrong and goes in and KICKS BUTT by showing them she is not another pretty woman.

Posted by: Samantha | September 9, 2008, 12:03 pm 12:03 pm

Obama had his chance to get a huge majority of the women voters…
Arrogance and Michelle kept him from making the right choice for VP…
Now, women voters are making Obama pay for his poor choices…

18 million people voted for Clinton
Brack Obama chose Biden (9,000 votes).
Do you have a comment on that?

Posted by: geevill | September 9, 2008, 12:07 pm 12:07 pm

Sarah Palin is energizing much more than the women voters…
For example…
As an independent voter, I am leaning towards McCain/Palin…
As a registered Republican, my wife will vote McCain/Palin…
As a registered Democrat, my daughter will vote McCain/Palin…
As a registered Republican (veteran), my son-in-law will vote McCain/Palin…
Obama, can you feel it slipping away?

Here’s what most of you don’t get. Independents like Palin b/c she actually did something few politicians do. She took on the political machine, replaced the network of corruption and put the people of Alaska first. No speeches, no rhetoric, just hard work and good deeds.
What has Obama given us. More speeches, more rhetoric and his only hard work is running for something.
That is why Palin is winning over voters.
That is why Palin is exciting to the political mess we have in Washington.
If she can do it in Alaska, she can do it in Washington and she’ll have a President who’ll be on her side.
She didn’t run for office b/c it was “her time” or b/c she wanted the adulation, she did it b/c she saw corruption and wanted to change it. Now compare that to Obama…there is no comparison that’s why Palin will help McCain win the white house. We’re all sick and tired of the promises. She the only politician that actually delivers and puts the taxpayers first.
Obama should have chosen Hillary, put the party and country first, but he chose to ignore his best chance and 18 million voters who now have someone else to rally for.
Sorry, but Obama is just plain dumb for that historic mistake and he’ll pay the price by losing an election the dems should have won and should be leading to win.
Hillary 2012!!!

From the time Barack Obama was sworn in as a United State Senator, to the time he announced he was forming a Presidential exploratory committee, he logged 143 days of experience in the Senate…
That’s 143 days…
And, that just represents how many days the Senate was actually in session and working.
After 143 days of “work experience,” Obama believed he was ready to be Commander In Chief, Leader of the Free World, and fill the shoes of Abraham Lincoln, FDR, JFK and Ronald Reagan. 143 days.
Not hardly…

Sarah- I am an Obama supporter and think your comments on Palin are classless. Speak to the issues to prove your point.

Posted by: Paige | September 9, 2008, 12:24 pm 12:24 pm

Obama is talking about education now. I can just forsee McCain camp strike back with Obama’s chicago education reform failure. $400 million spent, under the sight of Obama and Ayers, no any benefits received. Also, there are controversial findings that the MSM has yet to report: Obama and Ayers prioritize funds for programs teaching Maoist and socialist over programs for science. If education is something that Obama wants to talk, he is going to loose again.
Then there is housing policies — millions of tax payer dollars spent, the result? 39 defunct public housing projects and 11 of them in Obama’s own district. And people like Rezko with fattened wallets.
Is there anything that Obama can really say I am for and I have done to prove my record? Nothing.

How come when ever you refer to the women voters, you only interview white women? They are NOT the only race of women who votes and frankly why should we care about their opinon over anyone else? I am sick and tire of every time the woman vote story comes up you put on your screen some grinning face white woman to speak for all us. And why do you have a poll just them? Are you assuming you know how the rest of us are going to vote? Or are we suppose to see the polls and say gee since that what the white women think, I guess they are right. Robin perhaps you can answer.

___________________________________________________
There is enough ammunition in Palin’s record of anti-science; anti-choice; pro-lobby; pro-earmark, etc. that we can use that. No one knows what kind of mother she is and I don’t believe it is our place to judge. Dr. Laura, super-conservative, really took Palin to task. If you want to challenge her staunch opposition to sex education, you can, but hyper-personal attacks directly against her does no one any good. It does the McCain campaign no good when people from his side spew similiar filth regarding racism.

EXCELLENT response to Gloria Steinem’s editorial attacking Sara Palin
The X Factor
I have a choice. I can vote for my party and it’s candidates which have demonstrated a blatant disrespect for women and a fundamental lack of integrity or I can vote for the Republican ticket which has heard our concerns and put a woman on the ticket but with whom I fundamentally don’t agree on most issues. If Democratic women wait for the perfect woman to come along, we will never elect a woman. We have to seize opportunity where it presents itself. Besides, the Democratic Party is no longer my home. I have no home, but this election I will make my bed somewhere else.
I respect Gloria Steinem’s right to support the presidential ticket of her choice but she is openly trying to derail Sarah Palin’s historic candidacy. As Madeleine Albright said, “There is a special place in hell for women who don’t help other women.” I will vote for McCain-Palin. I urge other women to do the same. I might not personally agree with Palin on every issue and I promise to the first person knocking on her door, if Roe v. Wade, or any other legislation that goes against the rights of women is threatened. But in Governor Palin I find a woman of integrity, who not only talks the talk but walks the walk. I can work with that. I will work with that. When I walk down the street, I don’t have Democrat printed on my forehead, but my gender is obvious to everyone and impacts every interaction in my life. Since my country is far from gender neutral, right now for me gender trumps everything else. I urge other women to join me in this fight for equality. Sometimes opportunities occur where you least expect them.

Yes, I am a retired professional woman who supported Hillary Clinton. But I will never vote for Senator Obama for two reasons. He fails to tell the truth 90% of the time and I do not want my taxes to go up. Also, I never, in my lifetime expected Big Brother to support me, even in bad times. So many of his supporters are expecting more handouts. And yes, he is a sexist. He does not have the experience to be president. He brags and overstates his achievements.

You ARE in fact making a sexist remark in your attempts to prove that McCain is sexist.
The Obama camp cannot validly prove that she is unqualified without raising questions as to Barack Obama’s own qualifications. And frankly it is just backfiring on Obama.

Alaska Independence Party considers
Palin one of its own. Her husband

that doesn’t make much difference.
The man is a secessionist. So is
Sarah Palin.
How can she receive National
Security Agency clearance?
McCain the self-styled guardian

state. McCain himslef should be

Mary,
No one is looking for handouts. What they are looking for is fairness in the way big business is treating vs. working people. If think Republicans give a damn about working people you’re mistaken. They will continue to support policies that allows businesses to ship jobs overseas, hire illegal aliens at home, while skirting their tax responsibilities.

Samantha,
I was just using terms Republicans use….As far as MALE being chosen McCain doing the same thing….No, he wouldn’t because there is no MALE that would energize his base like Palin. McCain’s base is white men….pure and simple…..he hopes to attract white women with McCain, but that is not his base…As just for record….I am not an “Obambot” as you say…..I am anti-Republican….I just see more b.s. in that party than the Democrats.

I’m a former Hillary supporter who now intends to vote for McCain/Palin.
I like the idea of a split government (one controls White House, the other Congress) because I’m fed up with Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid’s leadership.
The democrat leadership in Washington has done a terrible job. The solution is not to give them more power, control, or oversight- when they can’t manage what they have already.
Pumas for Palin! Happy to help a woman break through the glass ceiling and I’m happy to have stick it to the dem leadership in the process.
Hillary 2012!

Obama is GREAT for women
* Supports equal pay for equal work
* Supports a woman’s right to choose
* Cosponsored reinstatement of Violence against Women bill
* Created assistance for women in need of day care
* Passed laws that increased cancer research
Vote Obama. Vote for change.

Margot 1:44:11,
Welcome aboard! Glad to have you!! McCain and Palin understand your values and concerns! You have made a wise decision! However, I must disagree with you on one fact…it will be President Sarah Palin in 2012…no doubt about it she will make us proud as first woman President of the United States of America!!!
Palin for Prez 2012!!!

OBAMA is NOT GREAT FOR WOMEN
Brack Obama has a history of being involved in bitter campaigns in which his female opponents are threatened with law suits and race baiting, sexist attacks on their characters.
1. In Chicago Obama ruined opponent Alice Palmer’s campaign for Illinois State Senator when he employed crony lawyers to claim signatures on her petition were falsified. Before this Alice Palmer was once Obama’s mentor and had actually aided him in his career. She did not support him during the DNC presidential primary. She supported Hillary Clinton and was later silenced by blacks in Chicago as being a traitor to the black community. I know I am a Chicagoan.
2. During the DNC primary Obama and his minions of Obamabots waged a nasty race baiting campaign against Hillary Clinton. They accused Hillary of “pimping out” her daughter Chelsea and called her a racist. Hillary lost the election. Obama did nothing to stop his followers from spreading rumors of Racism against HRC.
3. Now that Obama has passed over Hillary for the VP spot, He has the audacity to come after Sarah Palin’s experience and attacks her in his stump speeches even though she is not the Pres. Nominee but McCain is. His minions are calling Palin an unfit mother who was chosen by McCain for her attractive looks and youth.
Obama is NOT FOR WOMEN. HIS POLICIES MAY TELL YOU THAT BUT HIS ACTIONS SAY OTHERWISE.

Palin is unethical. First there was Trooper-Gate, now we learn that she billed the state over %16,000 for expenses supposedly incurred while she was at home in her own houes, expenses that are supposed to be for when she is away on state business. She is a CROOK!

Samantha,
“No way, not ever, no McCain”
Sen. Hillary Clinton

how McCain committed adultery and married the woman who was the the center of the affair, women will return to the Obama camp. After all..its McCain who is at the top of the ticket..not Palin..

McCain admitted his mistakes, and you know what? I’ve found that women like a man who admits when he was wrong.

Samanthta: I voted for Hillary, but I will not vote for a right wing wacko ticket just because one of the wackos is a woman. Palin is unqualified to be VP. She’s only on the ticket because she is young and pretty and McSameBush feels young standing next to her.
That’s not sexist. That’s the truth! And I don’t care if it offends you!
Most Clinton voters including myself don’t use terms like “right wing wacko”. and it is not believalbe you would not be offended by Obama snubbing Clinton for VP, yet are out of sorts by Plain.

Yes, and McCain not only admitted he was wrong regarding the end of his first marriage, he also took ALL of the blame on himself. An even more rare quality in a man.
I think people also like to overlook the fact that McCain has been married to his second wife for nearly 30 years, which clearly shows that he is capable of having a successful marriage and family life.
Had it been a character flaw on his part (and not just the circumstances of trying to find his way back to his slot in the real world after having spent six years in hell), he would probably be on wife #4 or #5 by now, just like the state trooper Palin’s sister was married to who tasered her child.

McCain does not respect women. Never has never will. He has shown this time and time again. Are people that blind?

Biden, on Palin being elected VP:
“that’s obviously a backward step for women.”
This ticket is imploding! You can’t make this stuff up!

Let’s see which one of them has the best pickup line.

People are AFRAID of the unknown. Palin’s just been introduced, and this many people know so much about her already – get real. Don’t be AFRAID to learn for yourself before you diss someone by just repeating all the usual divisive rhetoric. We are Americans, a FREE people – value the freedom you have to expand your knowledge, and think for yourselves. Don’t let someone else tell you what to think or what to say. To engage your mind in learning requires time and effort – to open your mouth and engage in mindless prattle requires little. We do not live in a totalitarian state where all opposing views are shut down before we even know what they are. The enemies of our country will succeed in dividing us if we allow ourselves to attack one another instead of being a judicious people, and we all know those famous words “united we stand, divided we fall.” Disagreement and hatred are two very different things. You can disagree, and still be united, but vicious hatred will destroy ALL of us, not just those we oppose. Our nation is at great risk at this time in history, and we must stop allowing the media, the political system, anyone or anything to divide the American people, and pit us against one another. Only we, the American people, can end the divisions that have been thrust upon us by pursuing knowledge of the candidates positions, their character (and yes, it DOES MATTER), and making an intelligent decision based on the facts, and not on “he said, she said” inuendos. TRUTH really can set us free.

I think Obama better get rid of Biden before he loses what’s left of the female swing-voters.
