Concerned in Ohio,
Obama did the same thing with NAFTAGate..telling the American people one thing and then doing something different behind closed doors.
Obama is not what he appears to be. His talks behind closed doors in Iraq to try and thwart our troops nad convince the Iraqis to pushback against US troop withdrawls is disgusting!!
Excellent post here…
Obama today proved he doesn’t care about America. He spoke of depression and total failure – he didn’t give a rats ass what he was doing. Votes at all costs – not country first.
His doom and gloom speech was to get McCain.
Otherwise, his speech could easily have started a panic and run on the banks – we don’t need this idiot. He is totally disconnected to right and wrong.
He is not Presidential material. He blasted McCain for his comment on the economy – we need leaders to remain calm and assure the population – not to instill enough fear to start a panic.
Obama uses fear tactics against us – he has done it with Roe vs Wade and the Iraq war and now he the economy. He is dangerous.

Again the Republicans throw their lot in with a liar. Taheri reported in a column in Canada’s National Post in May 2006 that Iran had passed a law requiring the country’s Jews and other religious minorities to wear coloured badges identifying them as non-Muslims. The story was received wide play in conservative circles, but it was not true.
In addition, the McCain camp lied when they said that negotiations with foreign governments by a campaign is unprecedented. In fact, the Republican Party has a long history of doing so. Lucky for us, this time it only exists in the fevered imagination of an agent of Rupert Murdoch.
Where were you guys last week when Obama was talking about the issues? The media refuse to cover issues, instead they want a horse race.
Samantha – I guess you miss this in that article – - While in Iraq, Obama also tried to persuade the US commanders, including Gen. David Petraeus, to suggest a “realistic withdrawal date.” They declined.
Why is Patraeus and Bush keeping are troops in Iraq. Anyway the NYP is the trash newspaper. It only gets 1 in 100 stories right anyway.

Give the Post smear job a rest.
McCain & Palin are finally being called out for what they are: cheerleaders for failed economic policies running on little else than identity politics. They offer nothing substantial, and the Post follows the game plan to distract rather than be substantive on the issues (like the Wall St. nosedive) to help some of their own.
Do you honestly believe Obama to be that stupid? I thought elite people were the over-educated, snotty types who were really careful about what they said and did.
You can’t have it both ways.
Admit that McCain is simply a straw man for the failed Republican agenda and move on.
It’s time to get real. The U.S. is in serious trouble and in need of new, fresh, thoughtful leadership, not beaten-down platitudes and lies.

In 1975, the US Department of State, in considering similar complaints against Senators John Sparkmand and George McGovern, concluded as follows:
“Nothing in section 953 [Logan Act]…would appear to restrict members of the Congress from engaging in discussions with foreign officials in pursuance of their legislative duties under the Constitution.”
Obama has long said that any agreement governing the future of US forces must be reviewed by the US Congress, as it would tie a future administration’s hands on Iraq. This does not violate the Logan act.
Don’t try to distort and swiftboat anybody now. There is nothing wrong with having Congress review any plans for the future of US forces. It is part of Congress’s duty.
