Obama Launches Ad to Respond to ‘Born Alive’ Ad

With this.

A note to some of the anti-abortion activists who took issue with my post on the original ad: "Claim" does not mean "falsely claim." It means "assert as fact."

I am really impressed that the Obama Campaign has finally found there rhythm in the 7th round. This could be the turning point of the Presidential Rac.

GO BIG O!
Someone posted earlier that Palin drew a large crowd in Florida
But I also heard people thought they were seeing “The Last Comic Standing” auditions

Well, Palin does not want abortions either for rape or incest and her state of Alaska ranks top in rapes.
What scares the hell out of me is this: if they get into the whitehouse and McCain can not server due to mental defect, she will be in charge.
How scary is that folks?

Obama found the right word… Sleazy.
It truly is not enough to call McCain incompetent.
McCain’s sleaziness is unbecoming of a would-be president. Palin just adds to the sleaziness. Together they are a repuslive pair.
Good job on this ad.

I live in Ohio near an area just about 15 mins. from where Palin and McCain came to talk.
They listened to her and when McCain got up to talk, a lot of them went home.
They told me they went because it was like going to the circus sideshow to see what the new freak was about.
After that it was time to go.
Guess she is just a novelty and it’s wearing off.

Way to go Obama.
Call the Repubs on all their lies.
Don’t take anything for granted.
And remember that about 3% of voters who are lieing they will vote for you now to pollsters but they will actually not poll the lever for a you when they get behind the curtain.
The Obama campaign needs to know that because of the 3% racist factor, Obama must be 7-9 points ahead in the polls to be guranteed a win.

A lot of Catholics may be pro choice but they will never vote for someone who supports infanticide. 67 Million Catholics will say no.

Well, someone voted for Bush and he believes in free choice.
I believe in free choice as I sure do not want government in my uterus.
McCain wants to take that choice away from you and if that be the case, what do you do if you are raped or a victim of incest?
I am sorry but my body is mine and GODS and it is between HIM and I as to what happens in the afterlife, no man has that right to be my judge.

Don’t speak for Catholics.
I am a catholic. Unlike evangeligal zealots, Catholics are not monolithic in our vote.
Yes we do not support infanticide, we also do not support murder in form of the death penalty and we definitely do not support needless wars that kill innocent civilians and 4200 Americans.
Catholics are not hypocrites. When we say the Bible says “Thou shall not kill” we mean all forms of killing.

For those wondering where Joe Biden is, take heart. The Obama campaign has deployed him in much the same way the Clinton campaign deployed Bill… to smaller venues, off the usual trail. To communities where a visiting VP candidate would be treated as a big event.
It’s quite smart. Palin has to spend time in big venues winning over her base and trying to reach out to new supporters. John McCain has to cover the same ground. Obama can’t go to every community. So Joe Biden hops on a bus in Ohio and visits the smaller towns that, when taken collectively, make a big difference. It’s the kind of “ground game” that will make all the difference in the world once the debates are over and the small town undecideds start making up their minds.

Lord knows i am not the biggest bo fan, but I refuse to let the republicans who think there is too much government in the buisness of ordinary folks have a say in the most intimate decison a citizen can have. To sara palin and company you cant make me have go through pregnancy if I was raped. Also news flash its not poor people having abortions they cant afford it. Its the upper middle class and rich folks.

nat where the heck are you getting your information on all posts that obama has it in the bag? all r.c.p and the poll of polls gallup cnn etc show a virtual tie race. with obama leading in traditional dem states and mccain leading in red sates. and the battleground states still up for grabs. in today rcp poll obama has an average 2.2 lead collectively.
if anything in the last 24 hrs obama has lost some ground.
last week mccain had a bounce this week obama has one. neither have closed the deal.

Bev:
“Government in your uterus?”
Honey, when the baby is born, he’s out of your uterus.
Go to Jill Stanek for the truth, folks.
Just do a search. The truth will come up. Obama is inthe pocket of NARAL and NOW. If you’re okay with that – well, okay. But if you’re in the least uncomfortable with abortion, know that Obama will make it more available with fewer restrictons, at less cost – how do I know this? Because he’s promisd to sign the Freedom of Choice Act (again, Google it, learn what it is – no more parental consent, no nothing -) and tax-funded abortions are part of the Dem platform.
Don’t fool yourself. There is a difference.

How terribly sad our cruelty is. We cannot pretend to be compassionate because we remember the Holocaust, because we are indignant on behalf of the Tutsis, because we recogize the victims of sweatshops, because we understand the violations against innocent animals. When we condone ripping apart precious children all efforts at appearing, even to our private minds, compassionate are lost. Life starts when life starts, not when we are comfortable with life beginning. Life is constituted at it’s conception not at the point it presents apparent value to those who have lived awhile. It is not complex. It is spiritual and we are all indubitably aware of when life begins. It is dishonest to say otherwise. German doctors pondered the same such questions as they experimented on twins, the infirm, the un-Aryan. We know they were blowing smoke. We blow smoke when we pretend to have an intellectual impediment to admitting life beginning the instant it is begun. We teach new mothers to be peaceful when carrying their children. We tell them to talk to the children when they are in vitro. We rejoice with our neighbors and friends and families when they announce they are having children. When our bellies are full with a child who we want, we love the baby the minute the child is wanted. We love them with a human to human love, not a human to object love. These grande motions to sweep away our supernatural and scientific understanding of life when we are uncomfortable with life are cruelties to ourselves. Bearing a lie, no matter how much we yearn to make it true, is bitterness to the bearer. All lies are revealed. We certainly know why we are insisting that the world justify these acts of hatred and intolerance, manipulatively, frigidly referred to as abortions. We are insisting on justifying these human rights violations because we prefer service to ourselves to service to another when we anticipate inconvenience, financial strain. Many a death has been orchestrated in just like fashion. Sorrows and sorrows.

The original ad was not a McCain ad it was a 527 ad, to tie this ad to McCain is misleading. I’m tired of democrats trying to scare women and hold them hostage with their reproductive organs. If Roe vs Wade could be overturned it would have been under Bush. This ad is only showing that the Obama camp is worried about the women vote. I hate to tell team Obama but women aren’t going to vote for McCain just because Palin is on the ticket, we’re not that stupid. Most men and women will look at the issues and vote that way.

If anyone would pay attention to Palin’s ACTUAL record as an executive, they would see (just like she says when asked in interviews) that she does not attempt to foist her personal opinions into her executive decisions.
There was one report I read that showed she vetoed a legislative bill that was attempting to deny same-sex partners health care benefits. She refused to sign the legislature bill denying the benefits because it went against the state Constitution.
This is her actual record, and I wish people would at least be fair and pay attention to that instead of what the biased media tries to dredge up about her.
And at least she has been in a position to make executive decisions, which is more than can be said about the other candidates.

It is interesting that most “Pro-lifers” claim that every life is precious, even in the case of rape or incest.
Yet these same hypocrites fervently support the death penalty, and really have no problem with the hundreds of thousands of Iraqi citizens that have died in Iraq as a result of us invading under the false pretense of finding WMD.
I think that abortion should be reduced, but that it should be the choice of the woman. I believe in the death penalty, and I believe that we have not killed enough Taliban and Al Qaeda. Who are in Pakistan and Afghanistan. At least my positions are consistent and I am not a hypocrite!
As a veteran of the Navy and Coast Guard I look forward to celebrating the Obama/Biden victory on November 5th!

this issue hits home with many of us. my oldest child was born with serious disabilities (marfans syndrome). as a single mother i thought about an abortion-i changed my mind. instead of mooching off of disability she chose to go to college, got a job and completed her masters degree in special ed. today she works with special needs kids in phoenix, is gainfully employed, bought her first home this year and is the joy of my life. i am so thankful i did not go through with the abortion she is my pride and joy. she has life expectancy issues (due to aortic heart valve inoperable condition) but we live one day at a time.

I think we should wake up and at least use this opportunity to change our destiny. Americans are at the moment not accepted because of what this government had done for the past 8years. McCain and Palin are the same liars who are not really ready to face reality.
I will give at least Obama chance to repair the foundation of The American Dream. The last hope for the hopeless. At least we can be accepted again in the world.War against Terrorist is not the Job of Americans alone. Obama can organised the NATO and UN to fight that together.

Rex,
I constantly watch bloggers claim that this candidate or that candidate is on the ropes, and is about history. The pollster.com electoral map, which has proven highly reliable for the past year, is displaying a slight lead by McCain over Obama for the past week. You sound like you are hoping what you are saying is true. You’ll have to keep hoping because the facts don’t back you yet. Of course, that could always change with new polls, and the economic shifts. Not because you said so, though.

Posted by: WestCoastMessenger | September 22, 2008, 1:05 am 1:05 am

I think Americans have wised up. They don’t believe anything either candidate says in their ads. (BTW, there are two lies in the ad above) We Americans are doing our own research on each candidate’s voting record, and we will be fully informed BEFORE casting our votes in November. Most people have very little trust in the MSM these days, and we won’t rely on them for all of our news. The MSM (most, not all) have given Obama a pretty easy time of it, which is surprising considering his background and association with some shady characters (Rezko, Ayers, etc.) McCain would have been crucified for having similar friends. But Obama has gotten a pass by the MSM. While the MSM has been reporting on “lipstick”, bloggers and citizen journalists are doing the real investigative work on the candidates, and we Americans are seeking it out and reading it. The MSM has lost all credibilty with the American people because EVERY candidate running for POTUS should get the full investigative treatment, but they haven’t. We want facts, not all opinion pieces. But since you MSM guys and gals are afraid to do your jobs (or so it seems) we’ll do it for you and post it to blogs everywhere.

I am a Pro-life woman that will vote for a pro-choice alternative.
I will not let A WOMAN GO TO JAIL because she has decided to stop a pregnancy.
This is something to decide between a woman and God, and between a woman, her partner and God. No else’s business.
2,000 years ago, Jesus saw a woman being stoned because she had cheated on her husband. He stopped the killing and said, “who among us is free of sin to throw the first stone?”
2,000 years ago Jesus protected and made Mary the prostitute his student. He forgave her sins.
Jesus was for women because there was abuse against women.
NOW ANTI-CHOICE WANT TO SEND WOMEN TO JAIL…they want to send us all back to the Middle Ages.
I say women go pro-choice. Don’t allow anti-choice to send us to jail for excercising our rights.

So many people believe life is precious and should be protected. They are fiercely against abortion because life is from God. (Actually I agree)
From the other side they say not any control on my guns because is my right.
I am sorry I don’ think so! Guns end life.
Christianity is about love life is against violence. (Use of guns)
Christianity is about accepting others believe, not to impose my values on your decisions, and if you are not agreeing with me we are in war!

Electoral Votes Final:
300-312 – OBAMA
226-238 – MCCAIN
For those who prefer facts over fantasy, the preliminary electoral numbers are clear in that this will be a massive landslide by Obama.
The states that Obama already has securely within his grasp give him a preliminary total today of 223 electoral votes, and that doesn’t include CO, NEV, OH, MI, VA, PA or FL. Considering the reality of this, it’s quite likely that he will win FL, CO, VA and either MI or OH. Nevada is clearly leaning towards Obama, but it’s only 5 electoral votes and he doesn’t really need the state. All Obama really needs is 3 out of the 10 battleground states to win the election and it looks like he’ll win at least 6 of the 10 EASY. Virginia? Obama. Colorado? Obama. Florida? Obama. Michigan? Obama. The reality is, Obama is very strong in all of these states and with McCain giving up a major gaff every other day, if not every day, he’s sealing an Obama victory.
McCain has to win 9 out of 10 battleground states to keep the race close, and even the GOP’s best spinster cheerleaders know that’s not going to happen. For starters, he NEEDS to win FL, OH, MI, CO, PA and VA WITHOUT QUESTION, but the grim reality is that he’ll only win one. (Two with a miracle) I’ll be very nice and give McCain PA and OH, and even with those two states, he maxes out at 238 electoral votes. The facts show he’s not on solid ground in either one, so at best McCain can only acquire 245 electoral votes when 270 is the magic number. To top it off, start subtracting votes when Ron Paul pulls votes in Ohio and PA while Bob Barr pulls votes in GA from massive independent and Republican voters with at least 20%. Obama wins GA too? If so, this election will be a Republican embarrassment.
Now combine all of this with Democratic registration numbers increasing at a 4-1 rate over the Republicans in all battleground and current Red states. McCain might get 30% of the vote when this is over. It doesn’t look good for McCain at all, my friends.
THIS WILL BE A LANDSLIDE. That’s a fact.
OBAMA/BIDEN – ITS A LOCK

Colorado:
During the 2007 GOP primary debate, at Reagan library, May 3, 2007 , McCain was asked:
Q: Would the day that Roe v. Wade is repealed be a good day for America?
McCAIN:…. A repeal ……
in other places: (2005 story)
The Kansas Attorney General, Phill Kline, is seeking medical records of women—including their name, medical history, sexual history, birth control practices and psychological profiles—from two state abortion clinics as part of an alleged criminal investigation he claims is about sexual abuse of minors.
I don’t know about women being arrested for having an abortion, but, as you see from my comment about what was tried in Kansas, there are those who will go to any lengths to infringe on a women’s right to choose. Doctors and Pharmacists can deny treatment based on religious preference. No one is ‘pro-abortion’. It’s about women making their own decisions free from religious dogma. Think back to the whole Terry Schaivo incident where the christians in the federal and state government tried to pass laws to interfere in a personal family medical matter.
Republicans claim they want ‘less government’ unless it has to do with ‘choice’ issues.

That’s what I believe too. No matter who you are, pro-choice or pro-life, all of us have to remember that this is a very personal decision for women.
Similarly, as every person has the right to be pro-choice and pro-life, I believe are woman should have the choice to decide when it comes down to her own body- to decide FOR HERSELF, and not be forced to do one thing or another. Palin has to remember that America is a secular country, people are of different religions and beliefs and hold different points of view. It would be one thing if she said, ” I do not support abortion, even in the case of rape, I would think that the mother should carry the baby-BUT, ultimately, I know we have to recognise a woman’s right to her body.” Rather than, “I believe Roe vs Wade should be overturned.”

i grew up really believing that we the democrats were the purveyors of justice, and tolerance. but the way many have gone after hillary and now sarah lies exaggerations and distortions and flat out hatred has been a real issue for me.
this will likely result in my leaving the party and going independent.

Why did Obama think he could run from his Illinois State Senate record? If he’d been patient enough to put more time into the U.S. Senate, rather than deciding after just 143 days that he was ready to be President, he could have crafted whatever image he wanted to promote there and his IL years wouldn’t have been under such scrutiny.
The sad thing? His extremist abortion views are just the tip of the iceberg. What we do know of his record shows an extremist ivory tower liberal through and through.

If the countries with government financial surplus (i.e. China, Russia, etc) were to see the never-ending financial neglect in the US as a non-military way of taking over the world (or stealing money through too low interest rates compared to financial behaviour) – then the US would have kind of a problem.
When a normal customer has loans in a bank, and continously just borrows more and more money just to pay the interest on it, then sooner or later the bank will require much higher interest rates to even consider lending any more money.
When being such a huge customer as the US, the point of much higher requirements is further away – but it still must exist somewhere, right? Sooner or later the chinese must be thinking that their citizens have worked all their life, to then seeing the sub-prime borrowers living that luxury life instead, right?
How would any lender in their right mind EVER lend more money to the US government?
The US government would probably be the only government in the WORLD (except for in the 80′s Africa) where continously cutting taxes AND spending more is actually approved.
The US government now, is more and more looking like the kid who is playing shop with pretend currency, where it does not matter if throwing away a few hundred billion dollars here and there, everebody just wants to continue with the game – so no problem printing trillion dollar notes if so needed. Just for fun anyway. Well, at least untill daddy shouts about needing the paper for computer work-related printing instead… ;-)

Terry, The majority of people want freedom to choose. I dont know where your coming from. I think its prety natural to allow the mother to decide. You seem to want to stand between the mother and God. Its between them, its none of your business. You just seem to enjoy telling people what to do.

This is one of the wedge issues that helped win Mr. Rove and Mr. Schmidt the last election. Just enough voters are tired of these type of tactics by the spin masters that brought America two Bush terms and are now fighting for a third Bush Term. Now Palin who rallied their base has the debate adjusted in her favor with Biden because they now say she doesn’t have the experience to debate Biden. What Schmidt is saying is she is the 90 second VP candidate? Bush is also throwing his last scare tactic of his Presidency by the 700 billion dollar bail out of Wall Street which he knows will bog down the next administration for two years just in time for the 2010 elections? So Obama ads vs Mr.Rove and Mr. Schmidt negative spin are important as Obama showing hes is no Gore and Kerry.

NO Jo, what McCain said is he intends to install constitutional judges to the supreme court, so they and rule on the constitution. He never said he wanted to overturn Roe v Wade, he said that isn’t his decision, it is the decision of the supreme court. Unless of course you are a democrat, in which case you want to rule it from congress with the freedom of choice act, which will have powers to override the supreme court and anything local or state.

Mike Peterson, Um yeah Constitutional judges, thats conservative speak for those judges that see things McCains way. McCain considers himself the protector of the constitution, but hes actually destroyer of it. You actually think he will install any judges that dont believe the same as him, then you are truly drinking the kool-aid, full strength. McCain lies in every word he says.

And yes, most people do support freedom of choice. This country is about freedom and anybody who wants to curtail it is a low life yellow ant-iamerican nationalist. If you have a problem with abortions then dont have one. Its as simple as that. But oh no, you want to tell everybody else what they can do. People should mind their own lives instead of telling others how to live theirs. Remove the plank from your own eye, before removing the splinter from ours.

This issue came to light after a Chicago nurse was told to leave a baby who had survived an abortion in a closet to die without medical support.
Barack Obama voted several times, EVEN WHEN THE BILL CONTAINED IDENTICAL LANGUAGE TO THE UNANIMOUSLY PASSED FEDERAL BILL THAT BECAME LAW, against the state version of that bill.
Those are the facts. Obama himself said that he thought the bill would infringe on a womens right to choose. That puts him to the left of NARAL, NOW, and liberals like Barbara Boxer.
No matter where you stand on abortion, realize that Obama has supported abortions through all nine months, and is against parental notifications, and sets no age limits on abortion.
Anyone who’s held a premature baby, realize that Obama is ok with essentially murdering that child, who cries, blinks, and breathes the air you do.

The ad was entirely true and nothing is taken out of context. Obama was consumed with making sure the infant was not considered “viable” and having rights. He also made the argument that it was a “burden” to have to call in a second doctor to save a life.
I can cite all of this, and in Obama’s own words.
Obama is a liar.

Posted by: drjohn | September 22, 2008, 9:29 am 9:29 am

I’m tired of pro-lifers, and their scare and hate tactics. I knew a woman who served on a board to decide which woman got abortions. In the beginning, her self-righteousness declared most all abortions were wrong. Then she’d learn the stories. The woman who was raped by her brother-in-law, while her husband was at work. The wife was tormented her whole life, the boy looked like the brother, reminded her of the rape.Walk a mile in her shoes.. The disabled woman who was escorted in by her mother to have an abortion. It was of course accepted, but afterwards, it came to light the disabled woman wanted the baby. The board member to this day regrets ALL her decisions..How can others make decisions for a woman? Really? This is barberic. If you’re Christian, or conservative or whatever, you should know life should be respected, but that souls cannot be destroyed. Think of a miscarriage, a soul simply choses not to come. In abortion, the mother may carry a fetus, but the soul does not enter the body, it is not destroyed. A bit of a radical view, but so are all the other views out there..and aren’t Christians supposed to live by Jesus’s laws? Isn’t it a sin to hate or to judge others? mind yor own business. Go do your job, to love others, not influence politics, and screw up our founding father’s dream-which surprise..is NOT based on Christianity.

Johnson,
Your post was refreshingly honest.
My beef with it is that these aren’t “scare tactics”. They are part of someone else’s value system, and how they view the world…
My point was that Obama is far to the left of feminists, and NARAL.
If you think outrage over aborting a child who’s about to be born at 9 months isn’t wrong, you truly don’t have a moral center.
Unfortunately, that’s what Obama believes, and why he’s to the left of the country on this.

re: McCain never said he wanted to overturn Roe v Wade, ..
yes….. he did……. on national TV
During the 2007 GOP primary debate, at Reagan library, May 3, 2007 ,
McCain was asked:
Q: Would the day that Roe v. Wade is repealed be a good day for America?
McCAIN:…. A repeal ……

Posted by: Rex | September 22, 2008, 10:41 am 10:41 am

Unfortuately, its a very tricky situation, with no quick answers. From the Christian Science Monitor: “Specifics from the candidates on abortion are hard to find. On Senator Obama’s website, his stance in favor of Roe is about a third of the way down an issue page devoted to “Women.” Senator McCain’s website says the candidate is committed to overturning Roe v. Wade, but hasn’t gone out of his way promote his views on the issue.” It is difficult to justify allowing a premature baby to die. A close friend was pregnant with a baby so severely deformed it wouldn’t survive. She decided she’d keep the baby, and not abort, which a majority of women in her case do..Very admirable. It also put her life, and the baby’s life in jeopardy. Was it worth it? The baby was born at 24 weeks, they decided not to resucitate, its organs were outside its body, and difficult to do so, so they let nature/God take its course. It was born with painful seizures, and took a few painful breaths. This innocent, wanted baby was tortured from being born. Its not easy to make judgements. The trouble is if a woman has a back alley abortion, she risks two lives. How do you justify killing children, adults in wars, executions, genocide, etc. If you don’t value older people, how can you value innocent babies, too? How do you know this innocent baby won’t become, God forbid, the next Hitler, or terrorist for lack of proper love and proper upbringing? Our world has a disposible mindset when it comes to life. Politics moderates women’s rights-but either way, its not going to solve the abortion debate. We want to preserve life, but simply put our bodies are vehicles for our souls-the body is destroyed, its life giving soul isn’t. Teach girls about self-respect, teach men to respect and not objectify women. How easy is that in our country?

Posted by: Johnson | September 22, 2008, 11:25 am 11:25 am

Why are all of the people posting ranting and raving pro and con about abortion when EVERY CONCEIVABLE METHOD OF BIRTH CONTROL IS AVAILABLE IN THIS COUNTRY (in many instances free of charge) & VASECTOMIES ARE AVAILABLE FOR MEN? Is it conceivable that ABORTION HAS BECOME A METHOD OF BIRTH CONTROL, & IF SO, WHY? I doubt I’ll receive any answers to this question, but one can hope, can’t one?

Posted by: Wade | September 22, 2008, 12:38 pm 12:38 pm

Carol:
There are those who are in the evangelical world who want their religious views on abortion and contraception to be federal law. These religious fundamentalists care little about women in the real world, and they are pretty much against any real sex education save for ‘abstinence’ programs.
If you don’t believe in god, why would you want anyone’s religious beliefs determining one’s personal choice.
There is the other side that believes women should make their own decisions on their medical care and reproductive rights.
I don’t believe anyone is ‘pro-abortion’. The question is who gets to decide, religious folk, doctors, women, politicians, men? Do doctors and pharmacists have a right to refuse treatment because of their religious views even though their decision might have adverse effects? Very difficult issues.

Posted by: Rex | September 22, 2008, 12:44 pm 12:44 pm

Wade, here’s the quote from Fact Check:
“Obama opposed the 2001 and 2002 “born alive” bills as backdoor attacks on a woman’s legal right to abortion, but he says he would have been “fully in support” of a similar federal bill that President Bush had signed in 2002, because it contained protections for Roe v. Wade.”
Obama refused to support a bill to protect the lives of living aborted babies. He can say his support for the most extreme position possible is for any number of reasons. As you know, he always has an unlimited number of explanations for everything he does.
But the FACT is that he came down on the side of allowing live babies to die.
And by the way, notice that I don’t claim he supports infanticide. But he IS willing to let babies born alive to die to pander to his abortion supporting base. That’s an extreme position by any standard.
But it’s not unusual for him. On this one, he has to lie. Usually, he just has to reference one of his 150 “present” votes, or the multiple positions he has taken on every issue, depending on the audience he is pandering to.

I would suggest to those persons who may disagree with you to read your writtings over and over again in the hope that maybe they’ll see some light shine thru the darkness of their selfish minds. I cannot imagine any thing being more selfish than to deny anyone the gift of life. Would they if the possibillity existed of having a choice was in the womb, would they have decided on the side of death to be aborted for the cause of some one else’s inconvenience? We all know the answer that question. The only one denied choice in this grizzly procedure is the fetus. I only wish Sir that I could express myself in the compasionate and feeling way that you have. “A note to some of the anti-abortion activists who took issue with my post on the original ad: ‘Claim’ does not mean ‘falsely claim.’ It means ‘assert as fact.’”
On the contrary, anyone who objected to the use of the word claim was right on the money. Here’s definition #3 for “claim” from dictionary (the other definitions aren’t relevant, such as “to demand”): “To state to be true, especially when open to question; assert or maintain.” Courses in journalism and any sort of writing where credibility is important will also teach you that using the word “claim” casts doubt on the one making the claim. For example, here is what editpros says in a list explaining how certain words are perceived: “claimed (asserted, often with an accusatory connotation or suggestive of skepticism).”

You can cover his butt all you want but “Obama refused to support a bill to protect the lives of living aborted babies.”
But the FACT is that he came down on the side of allowing live babies to die.
Now I’m pro choice up to 3 months but if a baby is alive when aborted then full medical care should be given to that baby.
I also think Roe vs Wade should be overturned and left up to the individual states to make their laws by the majority of the voters. I certainly don’t want to see back alley abortions come back, and can’t understand why the necessity for abortions anyway in this age of plenty of birth control and free birth control…Now you liberals keep this sick crap up and your ship is more than sunk………I refuse to tell the source of this filth.”One reporter asks: “What about the husband? You know he’s doing those daughters. I mean, come on. It’s Alaska.”
Guest host saying, “He very well could be. Admittedly, there is no evidence of that, but on the other hand, there is no convincing evidence to the contrary. And these are just some of the lingering questions about Governor Palin.”
“While No Direct Evidence of Incest in Palin Family Emerges, Counter Evidence Remains Agonizingly Elusive” and “In a Small Alaska Town, Doubts Still Linger.”
If this was meant as a joke, I don’t think many people but the sickos are laughing.

there is no anger in our discussions, sometimes many and very profound disagreements, but, we know the neither of us intends the other any harm, and all things being equal there is a fair amount of respect for each others position whether there is agreement or not. No one’s mind is changed but at least some understanding is achieved.

Obama’s rebuttal is a flat out lie. First of all, McCain didn’t put out the ad. Secondly, Obama said that the reason why he didn’t vote for the bill is because giving the babies medical care would go against the original wish of the mother and be burdensome to the doctors to try to save the babies lives. Look it up. There are audio’s online of Obama saying this.
