Obama Takes His Daughters Back to School
ABC News’ Sunlen Miller Reports: Barack Obama dropped his two daughters off at school Monday — in a motorcade complete with a Secret Service detail — for their first day back to school in Chicago.
The Democratic nominee, dressed in work out clothes and a baseball hat, held the hands of his daughters, Malia, 10, and Sasha, seven, as they walked, toting backpacks, into the University of Chicago Laboratory School.
The elite charter school costs between $15,000 to $20,000 a year in tuition. Michelle Obama currently sits on the board.
Obama’s eldest daughter, Malia, is going into 5th grade, and his youngest is going into the 2nd grade. If Obama wins the White House, his daughters would be the youngest kids in the White House since President Jimmy Carter’s daughter, Amy.
After dropping his kids off at school, Obama hit the gym and then flew off to Michigan for a day of campaigning.
"My kids started school today," Obama told the Flint crowd. "Took my 5th grader and my 2nd grader to class. The 5th grader didn’t really want me to go up to the classroom but I went. She’s still Daddy’s girl."

History teaches us that empires rise but they also fall at some point. A lot of people outside the US really like Obama and believe that he can lead America back to the position it was during the Clinton years of prosperity and global respect.
However, some of us dont want him to win because the world is tired of America’s dominance. Hence, John McCain will better serve the purpose of finally putting to rest the American dream…ha! ha! ha!
Please vote for the dullard and unintelligent JOHN McCAIN and SARAH PALIN who believes that the world is just 5,000 years old!
It is only in America that there would even be a contest between Obama and McCain. How on earth did Palin end up becoming a Governor? Someone that believes global warming is not man made? Believes that creationism should be taught in schools in the 21st century? Only in America can such a person contest for the office of the vice presidency
A people deserve the type of leader they get.

“Reasons why you should not vote for Obama”
Caucus Fraud committed by Obama supporters (primaries)
• Intimidation
• Voting multiple times
• Busing people into other towns and states to vote
• Votes exceeding the number of registered voters
• Paying for votes
http://www.lynettelong.com/caucusfraud
http://wewillnotbesilenced2008.com/video/index.htm
Lack of Experience
• 143 days in the United States Senate
• No Foreign policy experience
• No Executive experience (hasn’t run a business, town, or state, nothing, nada)
• Community organizing (going door to door to register voters for ACORN)
Has NEVER stood his ground when it wasn’t politically expedient.
• Obama gave an Anti-war speech to gain the support of the big money people in Chicago
Poor Record
• Voted “present” 129 times in Senate, not taking a stand on controversial issues. (indecisive)
• Worked to remove asbestos with limited success, still remains uncompleted to this day.
• Claims credit for welfare reform in Chicago that helped to put steel workers back to work, but it was a Republican bill that President Bill Clinton signed into law and that Obama voted against!
• Asked for a million dollar earmark for his wife’s employer (she received a $200,000 raise)
• Secured 100’s of millions of dollars in earmarks for private developers like Rezko resulting in failed housing projects that were rat infested, no electricity, sewerage and crime ridden, and uninhabitable forcing the government to take them over. (boston globe grim beginnings link)
• Voted in the state senate for gun control and refused to crack down on gangs. Obama helped create the situations where crime in 2008 escalated to about 30 shootings in a week requiring a special task force to be formed to stem the violence in the streets.
• Chairman of the Foreign Relations subcommittee on European affairs, which he has neglected, not having once held a meeting. Countries like Georgia were his responsibility.
• Most liberal Democratic voting record. Voted 97% of the time with his party.
Broken campaign promises
• Fisa (fourth amendment rights)
• Public campaign financing
• Undivided Jerusalem
Highly questionable religious connections
• Former pastor Rev. Wright “God D*mn America! America caused 9/11 and AIDs.
• Black Liberation Theology (black supremacy)
Connections to corrupt politicians, and Anti-American Organizations
• William Ayers – Terrorist – Bombed NY police station, Pentagon, Capital building in 70,71,72. People died. (He got off on technicality caused by FBI procedural mistake)
• Tony Rezko – Arab developer convicted in Chicago for fraud, money laundering and bribes of government officials. Rezko helped Obama find his Chicago Mansion and bought a piece of the property through his wife, whom subsequently sold a piece back to Obama.
Best selling books about Obama
• “The Obama Nation” by Jerome Corsi (Some minor factual mistakes but theme is credible)
• “The Case Against Obama “ by David Freddoso (Very revealing about Chicago background)
Impending Economic disasters
• Increase in capital gains tax – 28% targets most people’s largest asset, the sale of their house. Retirement plans, and funding for college are hurt when you stand to lose more money than the cost of a college education. His $500 or $1,000 tax credit called a “tax cut for 95% of the people” is a “gimmick” to get your vote so he can fleece you out of your life’s work?
• Doubling foreign aid to other countries. Doubling our commitment to funding the U.N.
Campaign Gaffes
• Said he campaigned in 57 states, thought for a moment, and said he was going on to the 58th state
• Called the Great Lakes, the Great Lake of Oregon??
• Confused Iraq with Iran when talking to General Petreaus.
• Referenced using a “pistol” to go duck hunting.
• Captured in a photo not saluting the flag with his hand over his heart while everyone else was.
• “Israel is a friend of Israel”. “His banking committee” – but he isn’t on the banking committee.
• Obama slips in ABC interview and says “My muslim faith”
http://therealbarackobama.wordpress.com/2008/09/07/oopsies-my-muslim-faith”
Failure to support American “wounded” soldiers in Germany
• On his excellent adventure, European tour, Senator Obama was scheduled to visit our “wounded soldiers” in Germany. After Obama was told that he could not bring cameras or his campaign manager inside with him and he would just be visiting officially as a senator, he decided not to visit our “wounded soldiers”. He went to workout at the Ritz Carlton gym instead. His lame excuses were not supported by the Pentagon.
Accomplishments raise doubts
• Highlights that he worked “across the aisle” on Nuclear Proliferation legislation with Republican Senator Lugar. Senator. However, in an interview, Senator Lugar said the Obama had “overstated his involvement”. He explained that Obama had expressed an interest in joining his committee (which makes him a co-sponsor) shortly before the bill was introduced, and recalled that he had attended one or possibly two meetings. (It looks nice on his resume, but hardly qualifies as “working across the aisle on a controversial issue” when consensus was against the spread of nuclear weapons around the world

Party identification difference down to one point!
According to the internals of the Gallup survey, McCain’s ascension to the leadership of the GOP may have healed the brand. Democrats now lead Republicans in party identification by just a single point.
In the new survey 48% say they’re Democrats or lean to the Democratic Party; 47% say they’re Republicans or lean to the GOP.
What’s more, voters by 48%-45% support the Democratic candidate in their congressional district, the party’s narrowest advantage this year.

I am so excited majority of Americans are going to contribute to its downfall as a global super power by voting for the unintelligent duo of McCain and Palin.
Its about time another country rises to become the next super power. Did I hear someone say Russia or China?
On a serious note, those of you planning to vote for McCain-Palin ticket are only contributing to the downfall of your country.
No objective observer, at least outside America, thinks that McCain will be a better President than Obama.
A lot of we Europeans have finally come to terms that two terms of Bush was not a one off mistake by Americans.
Without been funny, I have to honestly say that majority of your electorate are really really stipud and that of course includes “geevil”.

Dear HP Boston, have you read the other posts before you set to work on this encyclopedia of innuendo? Really, community organizing is something more than “going door to door to register voters for ACORN” (that ‘s just plain ridiculous and insulting), community organizing is a tough job with great responsibilies, real, individual responsibilies, instead of those ceremonial positions that mayors and governors hold. And I would much rather have a president who does not care about photo opportunities when saluting a flag, than one who brings strange ideas about creationism and guns to the job.

I almost cried when I saw pictures of Bristol Palin on the internet. An underaged girl surrounded by empty liquor bottles. She looked so sad. Where was her mother?
Then I think of Joe Biden who traveled from Washington to DE every night to take care of his sons.
The truth is Sarah Palin is a poor mother and as a Christian woman, my heart breaks for her children. IT is absolutely relevant. CHARACTER is RELEVANT.

Obama will be more diplomatic, more fair to the rights of American citizens, better at fixing the economy, more honest about policies, and therfore better for MOST of American people.
If you make +$250k a year, hate abortion more then losing your job, like sending jobs out of the country, like drilling for more oil company profits, or do not beleive in global warming you should vote for McCain.
If you like reducing taxes on the families that need it, reducing taxes on companies that are starting new, increasing taxes on companies that use loopholes to pay nothing, increasing taxes on the wealthy who used the last 8 years to rape America and its economy, or think renewable energy is the way to erase dependency on foreigners you should vote for Obama.
Also:
If you like Unions, vote Obama.
If you like freedom, vote Obama.
If you like healthcare, vote Obama.
If you like intellegent debates, vote Obama.
If you like smearing, vote McCain.
If you like attacks instead of facts, vote McCain.
If you like taxing poor people, vote McCain.
If you like corporate loopholes that caused Enron/Fannie,Freddie/houseing crisis, vote McCain.
If you like war, vote McCain.
If guns and religion mean more to you then jobs and homes, vote McCain.

questions for Palin
Without mentioning her supervision of the Alaskan National Guard (a task all governors have), her state’s proximity to Russia, and her son’s military service, what qualifies her to be commander-in-chief in such turbulent times? How does she reconcile being a “reform” candidate with being under ethical investigation in her home state? Why did she originally back the infamous Bridge to Nowhere? Does she support Alaska not receiving a single additional earmark under a McCain Administration? (And if so, what would that mean economically for her home state?) Does she now agree with McCain’s opposition to drilling in ANWR? Does she believe that the war in Iraq is “a task from God”? Does she support converting homosexuals into heterosexuals, as her church in Alaska promotes? And has her own personal family situation changed her views on family planning and sex education?

From there, he’ll head to the gym to workout, but he’s not an elitist, he’s like you and me. The rest of us go to work, and he goes to workout. What? Work for a living, not for the Prophet!

Palin’s “bridge to nowhere”:
She worked hard to get the 200 million dollars needed to get the “bridge to nowhere.” When american was shown what a waste this was, she immediately started saying that she is against it, for fear that she would look bad. SHE NEVER GAVE THE TAX MONEY BACK TO AMERICAN TAX PAYERS. Basicly, she asked for a bridge, got the money, and kept it. I guess she just flat out lied.
The jet on ebay:
Sure she tried to sell in on ebay. It never sold on ebay, it sold to a private citizen AT A LOSS. Funny how this is not, “Sold the jet on ebay at a profit” like the republicans are touting. I guess they are flat out lying to you.
So add these lies to the lies that McCain says daily about Obama, and you get a political party THAT IS BASED COMPLETELY OF LYING TO AMERICANS.
Lies:
Drilling will help reduce dependency on foreign oil
Gas tax holiday will help save americans money
Obama wants to raise taxes on everyone

Since 1930 (the first year decent data is available), GDP growth was 5.4 percent for Democratic presidents and 1.6 percent for Republicans.
Looking at the 72-year period between 1927 and 1999, the study shows that a broad stock index, similar to the S&P 500, returned approximately 11 percent more a year on average under a Democratic president versus safer, three-month Treasurys. By comparison, the index only returned 2 percent more a year versus the T-bills when Republicans were in office.
Democrats are better for the economy. Period.

Speaking of the press NBC caved into the Republicans. Cowed by the Party, wonder what happened that ABC gets the interview with Palin? I do not expect a hard interview, especially being that Charlie Gibson is not a journalist to begin with.
The 4th Estate does not exist.
Huffington Post, Daily Kos, TPM are not balanced enough to be viable, mostly dribble from them, and are as bad as the Republican Party when it comes to slant.
This situation is not good for America, but this what happens when the majors are owned by big corporate concerns. It becomes all about ratings, not subtance.

Name one tax code in the Mccain plan that you know you’ll benefit from? do you have kids? what about their education? Actually they were bagged to be picked up and used by the Democrats, but it seems that the Republicans stole them. They were not in the trash. From the pictures I saw they were neatly bagged, carefully rolled up on their polls etc.

It just goes to show you why there is a great divide in America today. It shows why the politicans are the ones in charge. Remember “WE THE PEOPLE”? Read all these comments from people on the left, people on the right. They talk like its a game. They talk like they are children in the sand box fighting over toys! Adults are kids with bills! Well, some of us are.

What is the number one issue for the next President?
Abortion NO
Religion NO
Gay rights NO
Terrorism NO
Energy NO
Enviroment NO
ITS THE ECONOMY, STUPID!
So who is better for the American economy, McCain or Obama?
McCain’s policies will continue the “trickle down” effect that has been in place for 8 years. The idea is to give more money to the rich, and HOPE they spend some. Ask yourself, “Is it working? Do I still have a job? Do I still have a home? Do I know people who are suffering? Am I paying more for food/gas/interest then I did 8 years ago?” If the answer is “YES” to any of these questions, then the policies that McCain plans to put into place WILL NOT WORK.
Obama’s plan will tax the rich who have had it wasy the last 8 years, and use the money to create jobs that make renewable energy devices that will be used to reduce spending outside of the US. Ask yourself, “Will creating more jobs, while trading more products outside of the US, and reducing trade into the US, be good for the economy?” If you say “YES” then you agree with EVERY ECONOMIC ADVISOR(not payed by McCain) that compares the budget plans of McCain and Obama.

WHO CARES? There are 12 children, some grown and some not between McCain and Palin. McCain three he adopted, one baby Mother Theresa gave Cindy, a baby from Bangaledesh who had a cleft palet and would have died, so Cindy flew home with the baby in her arms(Bridgette) and said to John, “meet our new daughter”…making 7 for them. And we all know Palin’s baby son has Downs, but her sister has a 13 year old special needs child too, so it wasn’t even a question whether to bring this baby into the world. I LOVED LOOKING AT ALL THE KIDS ON STAGE…3 BOYS SERVING THIS COUNTRY (more than BO ever did). I pray they all stay safe over in Iraq. Watching these 12 young people and their parents is a hell of a lot more interesting than watching the Obama’s and their girls.

Thinking..
from the photos I saw, the flags were in with TRASH, not recycle bins. Dems blew this one, and a nice Republican comes along and wants to reuse them, so Boy Scouts and Vets gather them up to hand out at a McCain rally. Get over it…the crowd was told TO TAKE THEM HOME OR LEAVE THEM TO BE DISTRIBUTED TO MEMORIAL SITES.
Axlerod didn’t think this one through at the Greecian rock festival that was Obama’s big speech (to fit ego).
Thank God, McCain campaign didn’t spend 6 mill for him to give his straight talk, real deal speech. McCain got higher ratings, because those of us who know BO’s speeches and would never vote for him DIDN’T TUNE IN….history or not.

Other countries are jealous of the most powerful nation in the world that gives more aid to others than any country….they want us TO FALL FROM OUR STANDING/PLACE OF NUMERO UNO! Of course they want us to vote Bozo.

Two of McCain’s sons went to Brophy Prep in Phoenix which is a Catholic (Jesuit) school and not cheap either. His high school Episcopal in Alexandria probably costs well over $20,000 a year. Parents should be entitled to send their children to qualified schools of their choice and if private, to pay for the same. Secret Service protection is required in a candidate is there and we are talking about a relatively short distance from the Obama home
Posted by: bhciapol | September 8, 2008, 11:48 am 11:48 am
It seems like an overdo to me that Obama would make his kids’ first day of school highlighting traffic back ups, extra law enforcement required on duty and all the publicity on his children. Didn’t he say he wanted to connect with the “regular folks” I realize he’s not one of the regulars now but this seems all about getting himself in the news. Many parents take their children to school on the first day. I hope his kids are having a fun first day at school and the other candidates children as well.

Get a grip on taxes, Obamabots,
An increase on taxes for the wealthy and business owners is an increase on taxes for you.
When the wealthy are hit with more taxes, they simply hire another CPA and find ways to avoid paying those taxes.
If they are actually forced to pay more, they will simply pass the cost on to the working class.
As for businesses, the tax equation is just about as simple.
Businesses do not absorb an increase in cost due to higher taxes, they simply pass that cost on to the consumers in the working class in the form of higher prices.
And, if the increased taxes are too great or cannot be avoided, they simply shut down and move the business elsewhere effetively eliminating jobs in this country altogether.
Any politician who claims to pay for additional government (socialism) with an increase in taxes on the wealthy and business is pandering to voters.
The answer is not more taxes. The answer is in less spending. Obama has promised more taxes and more spending. And, that, quite simply, will not work.

Christie,
How long do you think America can keep spending money and taxing the poor? Stop be so selfish. Besides, if you don’t like being taxed, then you should like the Iraq war, because that is why we will have to make up money in taxes.
The riches 5% made money because of the war, and now we should tax them to pay for it. Its simple.

And, when the Democrats are whining about the problems in Washington, they need to remember who has had control of the Senate and House for the last two years…
That would be Pelosi, Reid, Obama, Biden, Kennedy, and the rest of the far left, liberal do-nothings…
And, now, we are supposed to hand the Executive Branch over to the same bunch?
Anybody But Obama…

Today from the AP;
“…the bottom 20 percent of taxpayers, those with taxable income of roughly $19,000 per year or less, would see their taxes cut by an average of $567 under Obama’s program and $21 under McCain’s plan, the tax center estimates.
For the 20 percent of taxpayers right in the middle of the income scale, making roughly between $37,600 and $66,400, the tax break would be $1,118 under the Obama plan and $325 under the McCain plan in 2009, according to the analysis done by the tax center, a joint venture of the Urban Institute and the Brookings Institution, two Washington think tanks.”
Obama will cut taxes for the middle class, McCain would cut them for people like HIMSELF who are rich. How interesting, McCain’s tax plan cuts his own taxes, but not mine.

Jayhawk,
I disagree. Tax the rich and corporations. When they try to pass on the cost to us, simply buy from someone else.
With Obama’s plan for new businesses, and reduction in foreign labor, new companies can compete with old ones. So when walmart raises there prices because of corporate tax, buy from target.
It will balance out, and in the end we will have less monopoly and as a result less overall price.

Boston: Well said. Why is Obama not being accused of exploiting his children? Palin is getting attacked just for having children.
Dems just do not get it. The evil corporations supply jobs. They leave the coutry because it is too expensive to stay. If Obama increases their taxes as he says, more will leave taking more jobs. America should encourage companies to be in this country creating jobs. Job loss is the result of bad political decisions made by both parties. Since when is it a bad thing to succeed in this country. Isn’t that why people come here and we have 12-20 million people here illegally bleeding off the system?
Socialism does not work. The will to succeed is what makes this country great, not creating a welfare state. Swim or drown America. Take accountability for yourself and your actions.

The 24 hour news cycle, the internet, is the worst thing that could have happened to the American public, because the information contained in it is almost never validated by primary, secondary or any reputable authority. For guys like Ian who have the audacity to create a list of reasons not to vote for Obama and not come up with one, that surely exists, showing an equal reasons not to vote for McCain, is the highest intellectual insult to even consider his opinion worthy of conversation and a retreat of our duties as American citizens to protect each other’s right to disagree. Before it strikes, misfortune has a way of blinding the minds of most rational, articulate but ‘deprived’ people. Americans who would vote JMcCain/SPalin come November 4 obvioulsy prefer servitude to freedom; unemployment to employment; home foreclosure to peaceofmind home ownership. These citizens inevitably will find out that indeed had I known comes way after. Common sense dictates a different path at this time…

Vote for whomever you wish. The outcome will be the same. We are an increasingly smaller player on the World stage. We no longer control World events. Russia has money, China has labor, and India has brainpower. We are declining in all three. The government of your dreams cannot change these facts.

This is already a hallmark of Obama’s inner circle. At meetings, the Democratic presidential nominee invites disagreements. He often asks questions to shake things up, pushing and prodding, even when he thinks he knows the answers. His goal is to draw out his staffers and see if they can come up with new approaches he ought to consider.
Unlike President George W. Bush, who doesn’t like second-guessing after he makes a decision, Obama encourages his advisers to constantly re-evaluate what’s being done so he can adjust his thinking if circumstances change or if someone has a better idea

I swear, all these comments about Palin not being a good mom while Obama is… needs to be fair.
All I am asking for is to be fair.
Obama took his children to school… oh gosh..oh gosh…oh gosh, he’s a great father!! and this can’t be seen as an opportunity now can it… right!
Comment 1: She’s exploiting her son, she must not be a good mother.
Answer 1: Instead… think… she’s proud of her son, nothing to hide. Only those who sees that as problematic and reasons to hide needs to rethink their life.
Comment 2: Her daughter is pregnant, I can’t believe she’s doing this to her daughter. Her daughter made a choice and is living up to her responsibility as a soon to be mother. Palin is teaching her child strength and courage. LIFE happens, what are you going to do about it now? Hiding is OBVIOUSLY not good for any child’s look onto him/herself. Live in truth that is w/in you.
Women around the world would put us sensitive US citizen to shame. and women are capable of so much more than you give us credit for.
Support and strength, that’s what our kids need… after the fact. Teach them one thing, but if LIFE happens… what will you do w/the lemons given?
What a pessimistic group we have.
But… but… Obama took his kids to school! lol… I am not saying he’s not… but let’s:
Be fair!

Do John McCain or conservative republicans understand, or respect the moral foundations of this country? The U.S. Constitution is abused by conservative republicans at every turn.
U.S. Constitution: Amendment I – Freedom of Religion
Right now, for the first time ever, your tax dollars are funding religious groups you may not agree with. To add insult to injury, conservative appointed judges have ruled that you do not have a right to challenge this expenditure.
Amendment IV – Search and seizure
Under the guise of court action against abortion, Conservative republicans had John Ashcroft subpoena all the medical records of literally thousands of women like you and members of your family. Conservative republicans invade your privacy every day by browsing your email and phone records. Unfortunately for all of us, they don’t appear to care about our U.S. constitution, and they certainly don’t care about your privacy.
Amendment X – Powers of the States and People
John McCain and conservative republicans have tried consistently to overturn States Laws. They used your hard earned tax dollars to destroy the will of the people of Oregon, and the famous “Death with Dignity” law; they lost, but undoubtedly will try again. Conservative republicans and John McCain do not respect States Rights. If your state votes for something conservatives don’t agree with they will use federal powers to overturn it regardless of how you and your fellow voters feel.
Amendment VIII – Cruel and Unusual punishment
Would you rather die, or support a government which supported and sanctioned torture? The founding fathers would rather have died. The founding fathers were proud to fight and die for our government: A government which specifically outlaws cruel and unusual punishment. Conservatives don’t agree with this philosophy. Conservatives are at odds with our founding fathers on this score, and too many others to count.
John McCain and the conservative republicans have already gone a long way to destroying the moral foundations of our country. I urge you to keep this in mind in the coming election as we rebuild our nation together by voting Democrat.

I bet you think like GWBush, start a war today, and let the people of tomorrow pay for it.
I will gladely pay more taxes as soon as America uses the money to fix bridges, create renewable energy, fix roads, give everyone healthcare, protect our borders, and spur the economy. I do not want to pay higher taxes to bomb innocent people in a country I’ve never been too because it raise the stocks of the rich elite that control the strings.

dear tim , we know for sure that obama will raise taxes on the middle class without question —— because A) we can read – the payroll tax increase based upon total family income not individual income and ——– B) we can do math – the many new programs mean more spending not to mention OBAMA IS THE PRO-BIG CORPORATION CANDIDATE IN THIS RACE, HE IS TRYING TO BUY THE ELECTION BY BREAKING HIS CAMPAIGN FINANCE PROMISE AND HE WILL NOT ONLY HAVE TO PAY FOR ALL OF THIS INCREASED GOVERNMENT SPENDING (WHEN WE SHOULD BE DECREASING), BUT HE WILL ALSO HAVE TO PAY OFF HIS BIG CAMPAIGN SUPPORTERS WITH MORE PORK-BARREL SPENDING
YOU timmy ON THE OTHER HAND ARE ONE OF THOSE WHO KEEP BELIEVING EVERYTHING THE MAN SAYS EVEN AFTER HE HAS SHOWN HIS TRUE COLORS AND FALSEHOODS (like picking the most partisan bickering running mate of all time – so much for bipartisanship and being willing to take on your own party – obama is not a agent of change – he is just another in a long line of big spenders – how is that a change ? and I as an independent can see that – why can’t you?)
p.s. HE IS ALSO A HYPOCRITE TO TALK SO MUCH ABOUT PUBLIC EDUCATION AND NOT USE IT HIMSELF

I am an ‘independent’ and have been trying to follow all of this closely. I was leaning towards John McCain believing in his maverick image, but he really disappointed me with a V.P. pick that was obviously selected to appease his party’s base. I would have had much more faith in him and what he says if he had stuck to his guns and gone with his choice of Joe or Tom. Considering he is 72 years old, he doesn’t seem to have put country first by selecting a hockey mom whose biggest foreign policy plus is that her state borders Russia! I find her smarmy and sarcastic. Being a mom of two, I know plenty of baseball, soccer, hockey, football moms that are great…but not ready to become second in command of the United States of America. Her entire state holds less souls than most mid-size cities. They also seem to get per capita more earmarks than any other state…sounds like same ‘ol thing to me…I had so much more faith in John McCain than that. It is time for a change and McCain/Palin are not going to be those change agents.
P.S. Hope Charlie Gibson does a “real” interview and puts the voters first. He needs to ask questions that give the voters credit for having intelligence and not softball it…this is too important. I have faith Charlie will do that.

Tim….HE???? I am a SHE…Just like a Democrat too assume all INTELLIGENT LIFE IS MALE AS PROVEN BY BLOGS AGAINST PALIN…
Facts? Ok let’s talk facts about the candidates tax plans..According to the non-partisan Tax Policy Center: Neither candidate’s plan would significantly increase economic growth unless offset by spending cuts or tax increases that the campaigns have not specified.”
With this in mind, it is a well known fact that Obama wishes to increase spending on socialized programs as well as increase taxes on small businesses, investment taxes etc. McCain wishes to cut taxes.
Further the TPC estimates the Obama plan would cut taxes by 2.9 trillion over the 2009-2018 period and McCain would reduce taxes by nearly 4.2 trillion.
Tim…you want to argue on an informed level…don’t use insulting words such as, “idiot” or “stupid” or use all caps, as this is an indication you are yelling shows juvenile behavior….And I would not refer to ABC News as a authority on the candidates Tax Plans.

The issue here is not a moral one when it comes to Palin’s daughter’s pregnancy, but rather one of safety if in face of the reality that abstinence doesn’t work, there obviously was not enough communication to consider the safety factors in having unprotected sex, and that normally indicates a break down in family communications and or a refusal by either parent to deal with the realities of life.
P.S. I would like to know when her Bo became her fiancé, before or after the pregnancy became public?
Posted by: CurtisJ | September 8, 2008, 12:47 pm 12:47 pm
Jack’s parable,
You obviously have not done any research because you are wrong.
Here is something that your comment lacks, Proof:
Middle class taxes:
Under Obama’s Plan The Middle Of The Middle Class Would See Taxes Cut By $1,042 A Year; McCain’s Tax Plan Would Give Them Only A $319 Tax Cut. According to the non partisan Tax Policy Center’s computations, “under Mr. Obama’s plan, the middle of the middle class, or those earning $37,595 to $66,354, would see taxes cut by $1,042 a year. Under Mr. McCain’s plan, taxes for people in that category would also fall, but by $319; the largest chunk of the benefits would go to those making $2.8 million a year or more.” [New York Times, 6/13/08]
Paying for Policies:
New York Times: McCain’s Budget Will Add $150 to $250 Billion More To The Deficit Per Year Than the Obama Plan. “The Obama campaign claims it can pay for all this, and even reduce the deficit, through tax increases and spending cuts. I think a more skeptical look at its budget leaves you worried it may add something like $50 billion a year to the deficit. But applying the same arched brow to Mr. McCain’s stated plans leaves you worried that he will add $200 billion or $300 billion or, depending on his voluntary tax system, even more.” [New York Times, 6/18/08]
AND
Obama: Committed To Specific, Credible Spending Cuts: “Obama’s spending cuts include responsibly ending the war in Iraq, limiting payments to high income farmers, cutting subsidies for private plans in Medicare, reforming student loans, cutting earmarks to at least the level they were in 1994, ending no-bid contracting, and phasing out unnecessary and duplicative programs. He will also support pay-as-you-go budget rules and a constitutionally acceptable line-item veto to cut pork-barrel spending. Overall, Barack Obama’s budget will reduce the deficit relative its current level and its realistic future trajectory. [Obama Tax Plan, Accessed 8/20/08]
Life Savings
Politifact: According To The Obama Plan Capital Gains And Dividends Would Remain The Same For People Making $250,000 Or Less. “The ‘life savings’ statement, according to the McCain campaign, applies to Obama’s plan to raise taxes on dividend and capital gains. We’ve looked at similar claims before. Increases to dividends and capital gains taxes will affect people in upper income brackets who have investments in the stock market or mutual funds. But those taxes do not apply to tax-deferred investments like 401(k)s, individual retirement accounts (IRAs) and some tax-deferred college savings plans. Capital gains and dividends taxes would stay the same for people in lower income brackets of $250,000 or less, according to the Obama plan.” [Politifact, 8/8/08]
So the people can take you for your word, and think that Obama will ruin the economy, or they can read what actually paid economist have to say.
I hope they are smart enough to realize that you are just some guy commenting on a website and you backup your statments with nothing.

The Senate Ethics Committee dismissed two of those five of any wrong doing, John Glenn (D) and John McCain (R)(wikipedia the keating five.) As far as the “warmonger’ charge goes, guess you will have to cite your source on that one because most do not understand what you are alluding to unless you are talking about the “surge” in Iraq which your Obama has already admitted to as working…McCain voted for and Obama against (ABCnews.) Guess instead of blaming those who do not agree to your agenda thus not doing research, you sound like a person who has a control issue to me, you should try doing a little research yourself and cite your sources from another venue besides known liberal publications and people may take you a little more seriously. And my message to Obama is;
Dear Senator Obama:
I was enthusiastically impressed with you when I heard you at the 2004 Democratic convention. I thought to myself that one day you might be president. Obviously you thought so too.
My problem is that you let your overwhelming desire to be the first black President overide your good sense. You became more obsessed with your personal potential legacy than with the good of this country.
Now, I know that everyone who runs for President must have an ego. However, in your case, you allowed your ego to actually destroy friends and enemies alike.
Instead of being the ideal President to heal racial division, the county is now more racially divided than in decades. Instead of embracing the cause of women, which was the most significant group of your base, you went out of your way to demean and disparage them. You also helped set back feminists by decades.
Because of this, we now have historic Democrats flocking to the GOP.
Senator, you could have had it all. All you had to do was have a little patience. Had you “allowed” Hillary to become President, and thus attain the position she deserves, you could have had the VP slot which would have positioned you perfectly for the Presidential run in 2016. We would then have had the first woman and the first AA Presidents in our history. A monumentous milestone. Not to mention 16 years of Democratic rule.
But you couldn’t wait. And all of America will be suffering the consequences.
Well, Senator, the tide is turning. In words you can understand: The chickens are coming home to roost.
And the cluck stops here.

“Palins first major Gaffe”
Gov. Sarah Palin made her first potentially major gaffe during her time on the national scene while discussing the developments of the perilous housing market this past weekend.
Speaking before voters in Colorado Springs, the Republican vice presidential nominee claimed that lending giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac had “gotten too big and too expensive to the taxpayers.” The companies, as McClatchy reported, “aren’t taxpayer funded but operate as private companies. The takeover may result in a taxpayer bailout during reorganization.”
Economists and analysts pounced on the misstatement, saying it demonstrated a lack of understanding about one of the key economic issues likely to face the next administration.
“You would like to think that someone who is going to be vice president and conceivable president would know what Fannie and Freddie do,” said Dean Baker, co-director of the Center for Economic and Policy Research. “These are huge institutions and they are absolutely central to our country’s mortgage debt. To not have a clue what they do doesn’t speak well for her, I’d say.”

I am glad to see that Hillary Democrats, and Independents, and GOPer’s are flocking to McCain. Everything the Obamabots tried to push on us during the primary season is what we knew it was back then – a crock! This will be a traditional Dem vs. Rep state by state election with all of the regular blue vs red state showdowns in play with one exception – Obama won red states in the primary season mostly, and those states are going to go McCain in the GE like we all knew they would – plus Obama must now try to compete in the traditional swing states that Hillary won, and where his BS phony baloney is not very popular. All polls indicate, McCain will win, as we all knew he would if the Dems nominated Obama. Sorry Obamabots, not buying your hope mantra. Hillary was the real hope, and McCain will be more effective at dealing with the change the world is going through now. Don’t worry. Obama still has some more multi-million dollar book deals in his future, I am sure.

From CNN Poll analysis: Another factor may be gender. “Although Sarah Palin is the first woman on a GOP ticket, women nationwide are sticking with Obama — 52 percent of women are planning to vote Democratic”

Let’s see…
Obama’s kids go to a private school. ALL of McCain’s kids went to private school and Bridget still does….
Obama takes his kids to their first day of school and is attached for using the Secreti Service as protection … the rules of the road are that if Michelle took them, the Secret Service would go along – would you prefer that a stranger take them? How would you criticize that? He has Secret Service protection because he is the Dem nominee AND because his life has been threatened.
McCain also has Secret Service protection – they are with him where he goes… can you criticize that?
Obama is interested in his kids and escorts them to their first day back at school… is one of the Palin parents with Trig at his Developmental Therapy session today? (Please note I am not asking whether the Governor is, just whether one of them is) – oh, and they now get Secret Service protection – is it okay if they are escorted to Trig’s sessions? Is it okay if they escort Willow to school?

Let’s be frank here, the honest reality
is that after 8 years of Bush and Cheney, or rather, Cheney/Bush, the next leader whoever it may be has a rather large international cleanup/repairing of foreign policy to do. I live in Europe where there is a huge Obama fan base, and even experts in foreign and economic policy have agreed that Obamas policies stand to be much more effective then Mr McCains.
There are many talented female governors out there, including in Arizona (McCains home state) and in
Kansas who are much better qualified then Mrs Palin. While I applaud her devotion to her family, this is not the time or the place to play Russian Roulette with America’s global reputation. So please, America, vote with common sense and vote Obama/Biden

Some insights on the other “family man” in this election…
“The joke did appear in McCain’s hometown paper, the Arizona Republic, and the Associated Press did report the joke in full, so everyone in the press had access to McCain’s words. But by censoring themselves, the Post, the Times and others helped McCain deflect flak and preserved his status as a Republican presidential contender.
Though no tape of McCain’s quip has yet emerged, this is what he reportedly said:
“Why is Chelsea Clinton so ugly?
Because her father is Janet Reno.”
The joke may be crude, but it pales in comparison with the published details surrounding the presidential sex scandal.
McCain’s two-liner conveys some interesting insights into what he considers humorous (lesbianism, a young woman’s physical appearance), particularly since it was delivered to a Republican crowd. Remember, this is the party that champions pro-family values.”

Obama’s version of change
“Change means a tax code that doesn’t reward the lobbyists who wrote it, but the American workers and small businesses who deserve it.
Unlike John McCain, I will stop giving tax breaks to corporations that ship jobs overseas, and I will start giving them to companies that create good jobs right here in America.
I will eliminate capital gains taxes for the small businesses and the start-ups that will create the high-wage, high-tech jobs of tomorrow.
I will cut taxes – cut taxes – for 95% of all working families. Because in an economy like this, the last thing we should do is raise taxes on the middle-class.
And for the sake of our economy, our security, and the future of our planet, I will set a clear goal as President: in ten years, we will finally end our dependence on oil from the Middle East.
Washington’s been talking about our oil addiction for the last thirty years, and John McCain has been there for twenty-six of them. In that time, he’s said no to higher fuel-efficiency standards for cars, no to investments in renewable energy, no to renewable fuels. And today, we import triple the amount of oil as the day that Senator McCain took office.
Now is the time to end this addiction, and to understand that drilling is a stop-gap measure, not a long-term solution. Not even close.
As President, I will tap our natural gas reserves, invest in clean coal technology, and find ways to safely harness nuclear power. I’ll help our auto companies re-tool, so that the fuel-efficient cars of the future are built right here in America. I’ll make it easier for the American people to afford these new cars. And I’ll invest 150 billion dollars over the next decade in affordable, renewable sources of energy – wind power and solar power and the next generation of biofuels; an investment that will lead to new industries and five million new jobs that pay well and can’t ever be outsourced.
America, now is not the time for small plans.”

As a woman, I’m insulted by those Hillary supporters that will be voting Republicans. Be informed!! she is not Hillary!!!
I’m glad he took his girls to school–at least he is spending time with them.
Let me share with you my thoughts on Obama before my husbands layoff and full insurance coverage. As a Hispanic, I did not plan to vote for Obama, certain people around me had instilled a fear in me about a “black man” being president. I decided that I am an educated, middle class woman that needs to be informed-AND THAT’S WHAT I’VE DONE, I got informed and made my own decisions. I stopped listening to the racist remarks and ignorant people around me, who would rather have the same old politics. Please be informed and let got of that hate and fear in your heart. Our country cannot continue to be divided. What we saw last week at the GOP, is not our america.

Debra, please check your facts. Though there have been whoppers told about this story, Mother Teresa did not give Cindy that child. She did come from that orphanage, but Mother Teresa was not personally involved.
Since when do we elect based on the number of children and how many are adopted anyhow? This is so silly.

Cindy McCain is mostly responsible for their having 7 homes and a private jet because of her private business and skills. The Obama’s Sleaze Machine is out in full force today–their corrupt candidate is going down.
Obama took his girls to school today and so did 50 million other parents. The only difference, the other parents did not cost taxpayers thousands dollars for Secret Service people and a escort service.

All these ornery Baracky supporters today – looks like they have seen the latest polls – all of which show McCain SURGING!
If Obama wanted to win this election he would have selected Hillary (18 MILLION) as VP. This would have energized and unified the democrats.
But he didn’t and now he will suffer the consequences in November.

Barack Obama will not win in 2008…Here’s why…
1. Too many anti war nutjobs supporting his candidacys.
2. Will not do town hall meetings because he can not live without a teleprompter.
3.He picked Joe Biden,a well known Washington Insider,Hack who would not of had a long career if it was not for daddy buying his law degree from Syracuse.
4. Associates with ministers who hate white people and want to turn USA into Nazi Germany.
5. Wants to go negotiate with terrorists like Iran.
The list goes on and on but you get the idea. Obama has presented no facts and no good reasons to become President plus he is inexperienced.
McCain/Palin 2008…Vote for Country First.
Show the Anti War nutbags the door and dont let it hit you on the way out you maggots.

You people have to be kidding.Slamming someone because the can afford to send their children to private schools when they geta major discount,McCain sent his to private schools without a discount so who is out of touch. Many colleges and schools give discounts if you work for them both to you and your family that includes colleges. If we paid and trained our teachers better wer would have better schools. With McCains voucher system their go our public schools.Ever think he was the one at home at that time to take the children to school and come on Palin has been using her children as she campaigns across the US.At least Obamas children are in school

Posted by: John Luther | September 8, 2008, 6:10 pm 6:10 pm
kathy…the issue is not that he, Obama, is a good or bad father who is ABLE to afford private school for his kids. The issue is that most people who live in depressed areas are not able to do the same, and school vouchers may enable their kids equal footing in education..Obama does not believe in vouchers for private schools, McCain does..McCain sends or sent his kids to private schools and believes that parents have the right to do the same..Obama does not..for the sake of argument, why is Obama’s kids able to take advantage of a “discount” and most America’s kids are not afforded that same discount through vouchers..That is not very PC of Dems……….

This is yet another example of why the Flim Flam Obamaman better known as Barack Hussein Soetoro Obama cannot identify with the black community. A private school that cost $20,000 per year, per student? How many black families can enjoy that luxury for their children!

Apparently their education is important to him and if you had sold a couple of best sellers you could too– oh and by the way everywhere the Presidential candidate goes his secret service goes — hopefully this race will be based on the facts and policies and not personalities — Do you really want someone who gets upset if you go against her and cuts you off to be your vice president— a heartbeat away from the presidency– having a woman in the white house would be great – but not this one– there are more qualified women

FYI: public school educators, in greater numbers than any other profession, send their children to private schools.
If Obama wants people to vote for him because he really believes that public schools can really do a good job educating all the children, he needs to prove it by sending his own children there.
And the Dems are always talking about hypocrisy.

I WONDER HOW MUCH IT COST THE UNITED STATES IN TAX DOLLARS FOR OBOMA TO MAKE SUCH A BIG DEAL ABOUT TAKING HIS DAUGHTERS TO SCHOOL WITH SECRET SERVICE AGENTS AND A MOTORCADE. TEACHING HIS DAUGHTERS ALL THIS STUFF AND MAKING THEM THINK THIS IS THE WAY LIFE IS GOING TO BE, WOULD BE RATHER HUMILATING WHEN OBOMA LOOSES AND I DIDN’T SAY IF HE LOSSES.
