Obama: The ‘Ol’ Boys Network’ Just Another McCain Staff Meeting

ABC News’ Sunlen Miller reports: Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama opened up a new line of criticism against his Republican rival Sen. John McCain’s response to the economic crisis this week capitalizing on McCain and his running mate Sarah Palin’s recent campaign pledge that they will take on the "ol’ boys network" in Washington DC.

“This is somebody who’s been in Congress for twenty-six years, who put seven of the most powerful Washington lobbyists in charge of his campaign, and now he tells us that he’s the one who will take on the ol’ boy network,”Obama said before a crowd in Elko, Nev.

"The ol’ boy network? In the McCain campaign, that’s called a staff meeting," Obama said.

Obama blasted the changing responses McCain had this week to the economic crisis pointing out that he began the week saying the "fundamentals of the economy are strong.

" Now his campaign must have realized that probably this wasn’t the smartest thing to say on the day of a financial meltdown, so they sent him out a few hours later to clean up his remark," Obama said.

Obama continued, “John McCain went on to say how angry he is at the greedy corporate interests on Wall Street. He’s so angry he wants to punish them with $200 billion in tax cuts. And if they’re not careful, he’ll give them even more tax cuts for shipping our jobs overseas. “

An exasperated Obama questioned, “Where is he getting these lines? The lobbyists running his campaign?”

The Illinois senator also hit McCain on his suggestion of forming a panel similar to the 9/11 Commission to look into the financial crisis.

"That’s Washington-speak for ‘we’ll get back to you later.’" Obama said.

Obama then offered up his own forecast for what the McCain response would be by the end of the week.

“At this rate, by the end of the week John McCain will be telling us how he and Phil Gramm and the seven lobbyists [working for his campaign] are planning to storm the Treasury Department with torches and pitchforks. Come on!” Obama said.

Obama missed the biggest one tapped for Mccain’s transition team should he win. Uber lobbyist, William Timmons This lobbyist in so tight with McCain has registered to work on bills that deal with the regulations of troubled mortgage lenders Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae and bills that regulate domestic oil-drilling. How is McCain going to serve two masters?

McCain DOESNT CARE, he’s just a rich guy who wants to be president. He just wants you to vote for him, and shut up and be quiet.

Come on guys…this is where we get on here and spout out a whole a bunch of meaningless dribble about how Obama or McCain will save us! How one of the parties is at at fault and how the other party has all the answers!
lololololol
Good Luck.

That staff meeting quote is not only excellent but accurate and in accordance with the McCain’s cynical truth as well.
Bravo, Barack. Get them. Expose them.

Maybe when they investigate they will figure out that banks being forced to give 1 trillion dollars in marginal loans to minority and low income people is partly to blame for this crisis. Maybe while they are looking at that they can examine Obama’s connection to ACORN which was allowed to stop banks from selling loans, etc if they they didn’t have enough minority loans, affirmative action in the housing industry. Obama can say whatever he wants about how he is going to fix the economy, maybe we need to think about his involvement in breaking it.

This is how you hit back! How does Mccain justify giving them more tax credits. Its there fault and PHil gramms fault that we are in this mess. How does Mccain respond to this. Is this good government and strait talk? I do not think so, strait talk stopped when he choose Palin and he’s been getting worse since.

McCain tried to stop this in 2005. The Dems prevented it.
Obama got the most political donations from the Mort. group to stop regulations from happening.

Obama got more money form freddie and fannie Mae than any other senator or congressman but one (another dem)
He got more money from Lehman and Merrill lynch (10) than any other senator or congressman
he’s been bought.

oops, did Obama forget to mention that the head of economic team was in charge of freddie mac, and gave himself a 100 million dollar salary?
oops,

Posted by: trettione | September 17, 2008, 4:10 pm 4:10 pm

Biden’s son was a lobbyist who pushed to stop regulating the mort. businesses.
Biden and Obama were one of the top 3 to get donations from the mort. groups.
This is Obama’s fault not McCain!

Obama may not fix any problems with economy but neither will McCain. His plans will simply make the problem worse. Having Republicans manage problems with the economy equates to having oil company executives manage energy policy.

Posted by: indy_voter | September 17, 2008, 4:11 pm 4:11 pm

Is Obama referring to the “good old boys” at Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, who have filled his coffers to the tune of more than $120,000 in just three years????
Talk about the “good old boys” network.

McCain lied when he said the regulatory commissions had not been changed since the 1930′s. McCain and Phil Gramm and other Republicans voted in 1999 to de-regulate the financial services business.

The next thing he should do is re-introduce the American people to Phil Graham in a new attack ad.
Announcer:Meet Phil Graham
(picture of him picking his nose or something)
Announcer: Yeah that Phil Graham, the one that called you a whiner and said that this is just a mental recession.
(video of former Lehman Brothers employees walking out w/ boxes in their hands)
Announcer:When Phil was in Congress he was the one that spearheaded the fight to De-Regulate the banking and securites industries so that he and his banking buddies could cash in at the American people’s expense. It was phil Graham and his cohorts that caused this economic mess we find oursleves in.
(video of gas prices and food prices rising and people on the unemployment line)
Announcer: So when John McCain wanted someone to write his Economic platform, who did he get to do it…..thats right Phil (your a bunch of whiners) Graham.
(Picture of McCain and Phil Graham hugging or something)
Announcer. We can’t afford four more years of the same.
Obama: I’m Barack Obama and I approve this message.
Or something like that.
Obama/Biden’08—our last best hope.

One who wants to look at an old boys network peer toward to Chicago and Chicago politics. High taxes, lousy schools and a murder rate in comparison to Iraq. Wanna blame someone for banks failing, look to pandering politicians who made “No job, no credit, No money down, no problem” a theme for folks who had no business getting a loan for”affordable housing”. Crooks who drove fannie mae and mac into the ground, lined their pockets and wind up on the campaign staff of politicians.
Good old boys? Obama surely must be blind or he would have noticed more than a few hanging around him.

WOW – Obama is STUPIDER than I thought
he is criticizing McCain
What about Raines and Johnson who are his chief ECONOMIC advisors
DID HE NOT GET THE MEMO?
They were both riding the Fannie Mae gravy train to hell
oh and yeah
Johnson was ALSO an exec at LEHMAN Brothers
McCain is GONNA have a field day repsonding to these Obama lines –
How much further can this guy open mouth before inserting foot?
I look forward to the McCain ads tying Obama and his CHIEF ECONOMIC advisors to the FM and Lehamn debacles.

Few,
I pray Mccain will unleash that Friday Sept 26 at the first debate. A little history of Obama’s good old boys

Posted by: geevill | September 17, 2008, 4:30 pm 4:30 pm

Whew, Obama seems just a mite desperate. Instead of focusing on the issues, he is focusing on two things: John McCain and Sarah Palin. He’s gone from being the “change” guy to being the “attack” guy who seems much more like the good ‘ol boys than McCain does at this point.
Funnily enough, he points to McCain’s experience as a strike against him, yet he chose a running mate who has been in Washington longer than John McCain. Seems a bit like a mixed message to me.
This seems very similar to the primaries when Hillary Clinton started making gains on him – out came the attacks and suddenly the Clintons (who have championed all races so fervently) were racists, she was “more of the same,” she had bad judgment, etc.
Instead of trying to point out how bad John McCain is, Obama – why don’t you FINALLY answer the difficult questions and tell us what you’ll do for us and for our country? (Oh, and psst – as we are on our way through recession and into a potential depression, your promise to give us a tax cut WILL NOT WORK. Maybe you can sell that to the “believers,” but it doesn’t work to those of us who are really trying to look at what is best for our country and not just interested in electing a “historic” candidate.

You are LYING if you posted about Obama receiving more from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. HOW STUPID CAN YOU BE TO REPEAT SOMETHING SO WRONG! Herbert Allison, Jr., CEO of Fannie Mae, was McCain’s campaign advisor in 2000. He donated $2,300 to Obama, the max allowed by law. BUT ALLISON – FANNIE MAE CEO – DONATED MORE THAN $10,000 TO McCAIN’S STRAIGHT TALK PAC. Wise up, people – it’s just our economic survival we’re talking about here.

If McCain’s network in the Senate is an old boys’ network, then by virtue of selecting Biden Obama’s network is an older boys’ network. If McCain’s meeting with his network is a staff meeting, then Obama’s meeting with his is an orgy.

Don’t you know that AIG, Lehman Brothers, and Fannie Mae, and Freddie Mac are just having a MENTAL RECESSIONS! We are just a nation of WHINERS! (According to McCAIN’s economic advisor Phil Gramm).
I don’t think the people at Morgan Stanley are going to be comforted by this on their way home, jobless.

“Obama blasted the changing responses McCain had this week”, Boy, Obama is one to question changing responses. He was opposed to the surge, now he admits it was a success. He was for Jeremiah Wright, his “Uncle”, now he has repudiated him, then there’s Father Pfleger, Tony Rezko, and William Ayers. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black, no pun intended. I’ve checked, Obama changes positions more often than he changes underwear. That’s why I’ve decided to vote McCain.

It is not that I don’t blame Greenspan for the debacle, but he did warn that the blanket tax cuts is not the way to go. But he should have done it forcefully and should have stepped down as Fed Chairman when Bush did not listen to him.

Sarah Palin is a dumb woman, who got lucky, put her friends in high places, became governer of alaska and isnt worth the valentino someone draped on her for the RNC convention.
OBAMA and BIDEN – c’mon guys, toughen up your acts, go for the left upper hook and knock out McCain…he aint the same guy he used to be a decade ago.

tell the people in Chicago about the old boys network Barack.

mccain may have tried to stop it back then when he was still trying to be a maverick, but as you see it failed
and he never brought it back up because he realized he had to please the old boy network if he wanted to be president
mccain isnt about stopping naything, unless you mean troopergate, he wants that stopped and he wants to stop talking about the economy

Franklin Raines should be in Jail. He along with several democrates, none more than Obama where in his pocket. When you start doing the math: William Ayers, The racist Reverend Wright, the Slum Lord and felon Mike Ryzko, Franklin Raines, Chicago Thug politcs, His failure to talk about any of his drug dealing and smoking days at Columbia, His choice of Joe Biden for VP, his team playing the race card now that they are tied when they should be 12-15 points ahead. This guy has a history of poor decisions and has surrounded himself with the worst of the worst kind of people. As a Liberal you should be outraged. These are the very people fleecing all of us!!!
Contrary to poluar belief, this race is not as close as many of you think. I looked deeper into the pools and you will see a 60-40 split in polling. Where 60% of those polled are democrates and 40% republicans: CNN, MSNBC, Gallup USA, Rassmussen were nearly identical. Not not accusing them of being in the tank for Obama, I’m just pointing a fact. Off the record, most of the pollers will tell you that if the factor in the variances between dems and repubs, Statistically McCain would have around 8 point lead. When factoring in the Bradly factor, 11-12% lead for McCain. This is why the Dems are in full panic mode because they know that Obama better go into the last week of the election with at minimum a 10% point lead overall and a bettern than 7% lead in the key battle ground states. this is why his campaign is in panic mode and why the dems in general are worried.

And TRACI – Maybe you are just TOO LAZY to read the 288 PAGE BOOK where Obama lays out his economic plan. McCain supporters take their clues from the old man himself – don’t check facts, lie, distort, play the race, gender, POW cards, whatever lowdown sleazy thing it takes to try to steal the election from an INTELLIGENT, ORGANIZED, candidate who UNDERSTANDS what America needs to get back on track. How anyone can believe McCain’s drivel without reading his record and understanding that HE DOES NOT SUPPORT ECONOMIC MEASURES THAT WILL HELP THE MIDDLE CLASS and that his TRICKLE DOWN and opposition to regulation are EXACTLY WHAT IS BRINGING OUR ECONOMY TOPPING DOWN as we sit here.

Obama’s contributions “from Fannie Mae” are not from the company, they are from individual citizens contributing on an indivudual basis. What – Obama is going to curry them some favors? Get real. Don’t be duped. McCain’s advisors, his would-be cabinet members, lobby for banks, foreign countries, etc. They are not ones who put America first. however, possibly the oldest president ever to be elected for first term who has had several bouts with cancer picked someone for a political stunt.

im glad you bring up this celebrity thing since mccain mocked obama yesterday…
its funny here we are in the middle of an economic crisis and mccains talking about celebrities…
you know its ok to criticize someone for doing soemthing, but you probably shouldnt be going to celebrity fundraisers yourself
McCain attended a fundraiser at the Beverly Hills Hilton Monday night, which included a number of Hollywood Republicans, capping off a $4.7 million, two-event day in the Golden State.
The presumptive GOP nominee made little in the way of news in his remarks though he joked about his afternoon taping at the Tonight Show.
“I just came from taping the Jay Leno show so those of you that are up late tonight and don’t wish to watch any re-runs of the Democratic convention,” McCain said to laughter from the nearly 1,200 donors in the hotel ballroom. “So naturally we had to have a few age jokes and I told him that my Social Security number is 8. I am that old.”
And while Barack Obama has the majority of Hollywood backing his candidacy, McCain had his own small cadre of celebs in attendance tonight. Among those that were spotted:
Stephen Baldwin
Pat Boone
Wilford Brimley
Dean Cain
Jon Cryer
Robert Duvall
Angie Harmon
Patricia Heaton
Lorenzo Lamas
Craig T. Nelson
Gail O’Grady
Jason Sehorn
Gary Sinise

Women’s Rights Groups Support Obama
Today my womanhood demands
That I conform to their commands
That I uphold the public heist
To elevate Hawaii’s Christ.
My duty as a democrat
Requires that I should vote like that
To disobey would cause a schism
In the domain of feminism!
But there’s one thing I’d like to know
Before off to the polls I go:
Where were these admirable dames
When Hillary was called bad names?
When women’s rights were under test,
When she was smeared, did they protest?
When media sexism became obscene,
How come they didn’t intervene?
While Sarah is torn up to shreds
They lie calmly in their Obama beds
From which they seek to rule my mind -
Please tell me, are they deaf and blind?

Poet: Politics is a rough-and-tumble trade. Not for the faint of heart. Hillary (and I am an admirer) was not subjected to any more harsh treatment then any of the male candidates in either party primaries. To suggest that she should have been treated somehow daintily because she is female is an insult to all women.

And, yes, Tapper, where is your insight and ability to assess qualifications of candidates? Try this: make a spreadsheet. In one column, record Palin’s educational, career and political accomplishments. In the other three columns, do the same for the other condidates. Then compare the accomplishments, just like in a resume.

And seriously now, John McCain is PART of the “good old boys” network, otherwise he could not have survived over two decades in Washington.
I like the guy, really. No I don’t. I USED to like him, but he’s not the same man. We all harden with age, get set in our ways, and most pointedly, we develop new versions of past memories.
I don’t doubt that McCain sincerely believes that he is ready to serve as president, but I worry that he is merely reliving the days when he actually had something to offer.
Those days are gone, and no pretty young woman is ever going to bring them back.

Obama’s attacks are already starting to get old and it’s only Wednesday. This McCain ‘out of tough’ Bush comparison isn’t working – all of national polls remain in the margin of error, while McCain continues to gain in the statewide polls.
Remember everyone, this is a chess match and we have 48 days to go. Obama might look good right now, but that will quickly change when the media tires of Obama’s same old attacks and McCain comes out with some new ones. Absent a McCain or Obama mega gaffe during the debates, it’s going to be a nail biter down to the end….but methings Obama is starting to peak too quickly. He can’t keep up this line of attack for 48 days straight. It won’t work.

Then, of course, there is always the Rev. Haage, the so-called man of God who endorsed McCain. The good reverend believes that God sent Katrina to punish N.O. for their sins; God sent Hitler to force the Jews to Israel; and called the Catholic Church the “Great Wh*re.” To my knowledge, McCain has yet to repudiate the endorsement.

Well kiddies, it’s crunch time. We’ve got to put aside the silly stuff and really look at who is going to do the best for us. Seriously. For me it’s simple. I’m voting for Obama. No question about it. And the funny thing is, Palin solidified my opinion. Republicans (and some democrats too) are going gaga over her but all I can see is a disaster waiting to happen. McCain let slip out a while ago that he really doesn’t know about the economy and he’s a fundamental de-regulator of the banking/investment industry. Well, here we are, and where we are is a direct result of his fundamental deregulation. So, again, it’s simple for me. The republicans had their chance and they blew it. Big time. VERY big time.

Palin’s speech on Monday? IN THE SAME SPEECH!! Does she even know what she is saying when she flip-flops IN THE SAME SPEECH? At least McCain waited 12 hours before he flip-flopped. and she has the cred to be president !!!!!! These Deregulations are the same ones that John McCain and the Keating 5 got in so much trouble for and the GOP pushed thru in the 90′s and up to 2004 in the Mort, stocks, energy, and banking fields they push for NO oversight and now in the same speech she says she wants and doesn’t want Gov. regulations ?!?

If your name is Barack you’re a radical, unpatriotic Muslim.
Name your kids Willow, Trig and Track, you’re a maverick.
Graduate from Harvard law School and you are unstable.
Attend 5 different small colleges before graduating, you’re well grounded.
If you spend 3 years as a brilliant community organizer, become the first black President of the Harvard Law Review, create a voter registration drive that registers 150,000 new voters, spend 2 years as a Constitutional Law professor, spend 8 years as a State Senator representing a district with over 750,000 people, become chairman of the state Senate’s Health and Human Services committee, spend 4 years in the United States Senate representing a state of 13 million people while sponsoring 131 bills and serving on the Foreign Affairs, Environment and Public Works and Veteran’s Affairs committees, you don’t have any real leadership experience.
If your total resume is: local weather girl, 4 years on the city council and 6 years as the mayor of a town with less than 7,000 people, 20 months as the governor of a state with only 650,000 people, then you’re qualified to become the country’s second highest ranking executive.
If you have been married to the same woman for 19 years while raising 2 beautiful daughters, all within Protestant churches, you’re not a real Christian.
If you cheated on your first wife with a rich heiress, and left your disfigured wife and married the heiress the next month, you’re a Christian.
If you teach responsible, age appropriate sex education, including the proper use of birth control, you are eroding the fiber of society.
If , while governor, you staunchly advocate abstinence only, with no other option in sex education in your state’s school system while your unwed teen daughter ends up pregnant , you’re very responsible.
If your wife is a Harvard graduate lawyer who gave up a position in a prestigious law firm to work for the betterment of her inner city community, then gave that up to raise a family, your family’s values don’t represent America’s.
If you’re husband is nicknamed ‘First Dude’, with at least one DWI conviction and no college education, who didn’t register to vote until age 25 and once was a member of a group that advocated the secession of Alaska from the USA, your family
is extremely admirable.

who has ever heard of the fundamentals of our economy being workers?
thsi isnt verbiage this was a lack of knowledge, you can listen to his speech hes not talking about workers
and now hes trying to use workers to cover up his error…
its pathetic really
oh, and here is a video of the 18 times this year that mccain has said the fundamentals have been strong
http://thinkprogress.org/2008/09/17/mccain-channels-hoover/
was he talking about workers all those times?
lol i dont think so

ok tim, you can go back to your cave now. and JKIR – McCain was WEAK for picking Palin. He wanted Lieberman but was afraid to alienate his “base” even more than they were already. So he picked a party line person. The only other possibility was Romney but McCain doesn’t like him. Everyone else was pro-choice. McCain caved. And as for Obama – the easy thing for him to do would have been to pick Hillary because he knew she’d bring along the women’s votes (as Palin seems to be doing for McCain) but you can be sure HE would have been perceived as weak if he had done so. So for me, Obama’s the strong, independent candidate. Funny how that works out, isn’t it?

brandon…
first off, dont just assume im a republican, im not. secondly, did i say that i agreed with how much the republicans attack him on the issue of ayers? right, i dont think i did. BOTH parties attack too much. all i need to do as a concerned, informed citizen is hear the story in it entirety, from different sources, and make a decisin on it. i know what the keating five scandal was 8 years ago (im only 30 years old) i know what role john mccain was proved to have in it. so, i still take this into consideration when i vote for the president or anyone else. i dont need it shoved down my throat day after day. plus, it has nothing to do with the economy today and mccains ability to lead the nation.

anyone with the screen name “nomorerepublicans” is obviously one of the mindless who, for some reason, believe the countries economic problems are due to one party or the other. the most dangerous voter is one who believes their party does no wrong.

Xhater, so stating facts makes me a racist, not voting for Obama makes me a racist…hmmm, ok, but just don’t tell my husband, cause he’s a minority. Same ole story from you Obamabots, racism, racism, racism…if you all would get off your high horses and research the man instead of falling for pretty speeches, y’all might learn something not so pretty about Obama.

McCain ‘ole boy’s network’ a staff meeting!
McCain has intimate personal experience with greed and mismanagement!
Remember the Savings and Loan scandal? Greed and mismanagement and McCain one of the original Keating Five!
He talks about fixing corruption! What a freaking hypocrit! Both he and Palin – corrupt liars!
A huge cause for where we are today!
No thanks McCain; we’re not taking your Bridge to Nowhere! Take Palin and your 83 Wall Street Lobbyists working on your campaign and jump off the bridge!
Shame on McCain

Wm. J. LePetomaine
Just want to make sure you get me right. My apologies for the name calling.
Not that this has to do with the discussion but while the Koran may speak of universal peace…It is also Islamic ideology that the world is divided into two: The Islamic “Dar e-Salaam” or House of Islam or House of Peace. Opposing this “Dar e-Salaam” is the “Dar e-Harb” or House of War into which all infidels fall. There can be no peace for Islam until the entire “Dar e-Harb” falls to the “Dar e-Salaam”.
If Obama does get elected I don’t think it matters one bit what his faith is because he clearly doesn’t hold to either Christian or Muslim tenets.

In a few weeks we will make a choice that will decide our future.
This time the stakes are much higher then most people could imagine
I would like to point out some things You may already know with a new perspective.
I follow a economist named bob proctor who has called the top and bottom of every market crash since the 70s correctly.
He perfectly predicted the current real estate market meltdown ,and the picture he paints about what will happen in the next couple years
Is terrifying. He thinks it could get worse then the great depression.
Banks in the US are going under one after the other. Country wide the largest morgage bank in the world
Bear Stearns and Lehman brothers , and Merrill Lynch which are 3 out of the top 5 wall street firms.
And now Fanny and Freddy which hold 50 percent of the home loans in the United States.
The goverment took them over because they are essentially bankrupt.
If they didn’t the entire financially system would virtually shut down, the stock market would crash
And we would suffer beyond what any of us have seen before
The future of these companies will fall into the hands of our next president
And all of our economic future depends on them reorganizing these companies right.
Lehman, Merill Lynch, and Bear Sterns have survived for over 150 years and survived even the great depression
They are important because the are the biggest engines of growth in america and
they are connected to almost everything.
The last time the real estate market numbers looked this bad was during
The great depression and real estate often leads the way into major economic recessions.
One out of 10 Americans is somewhere in the foreclosure process.
During the last 8 years the average person saw there salary drop instead
Of increase. These are all facts no one will argue with.
The truth is we are only in the start of the worst economy we have seen in our generation
and a very real possibility of another depression.
Bush just like Mcain doesn’t understand the economy.
That not just my opinion its his own words. Not only does he not understand how to fix it
He does not understand exactly what is broken. Its no surprise that he doesnt. The people that make up these
securities use complex math models very few people understand.
They are basically bundles of thousand of loans some good and some bad that are then given rules based on quantitiative
math. It will take the best and brightest minds in the world to get us out of this, and the same things bush and mcain have done for the last 8 years
Have not worked so far and wont work in the future.
If you do what you have always done then you will do get what you have always __________
90 percent of the time they have voted the same.
Please don’t just take my word for it Start to read up on some of this yourself. MSN money, elliot wave and, bloomberg
Have tons of articles That prove we are in the heading into one of the worst economies any one has ever seen.
So why are the polls even close then ?
The chairman of mcains campaign recently said that people don’t vote on issues
they vote on a personality composite which means. He is trying to sell personality instead
of results.
He believes people will vote against there own self interests.
Lets teach him we are smarter then that and elect the ticket that can
bring us back from the brink of a economic abyss.
If you think i am kidding do your own home work you will find
We are at the start of this mess not the end.
Mcain admits in the year 2008 he cannot use a computer even to send email
Its almost impossible then he will understand the complex securities such as cdos that are destroying wall street
and the home values on your street.
We are not bulletproof america it time to wake up and hold these people accountable.
How many people that you go out and have drinks with would you really want running the country?
Lets stand up and fight for our country now while it will still make a difference
Lets elect Obama Biden 08

Posted by: dave | September 17, 2008, 8:18 pm 8:18 pm

Dave
Try Jim Powell’s FDR’s Folly…it explains how we got here in the first place. Then read Thomas Sowell’s Basic Economics.
Once you have that understanding you will probably vote McCain Palin 08

Posted by: Bert | September 17, 2008, 8:47 pm 8:47 pm

Wow! The Community Organizer is pretty
sharp with the quips!
Maybe he should be running for
comedian of the year or Class Clown!
Instead of offering solutions to our
current economic problems Obama prefers
to hang out with his elist hollywood
friends!
Saying change over and over is Not Enough!
McCain/Palin 08!

Posted by: reaganfan | September 17, 2008, 9:24 pm 9:24 pm

Biden was the one that said “Obama would be a President in training”
Hillary said he could not answer the phone at 3AM and make executive decisions.
There is a reason they said this! because they believe it is true!!!

So what do you call Jimmy Carter’s adviser (Brezinski) and the former Clintonites (Albright, Holbrooke) pushing Obama. How many failed, old farts do these two canidates need? Would it kill them to get some new blood in their decision making process? It’s not “change” when the same ol’ tired, seasoned beuracratic old farts call the shots behind the scenes. Obama and McCain are puppets, pure and simple, with the policies being implemented from people you never get to see. The policy has already been set. No matter what happens in the election, you have no “choice.” And you never did. But feel free to think that you do. You make it much easier that way, when you don’t even bother to think why both parties mirror the same foreign and domestic policy. With the only difference being how much of YOUR money they get to take from you, and what corporate entity gets to profit off of your labor, while YOUR children are drafted and maimed and killed fighting THEIR illegal wars. Yeay! I just can’t wait til election day! How about you…

You and I may belong to a party such as Democratic or Republican or Girl Scout and someone in that party may have certain thoughts but, that does not mean you agree with that because you belong to the party. You have independant thought such as MC Cain does he is not Bush and disagrees with many of Bushes ideas however your channel makes it look as if MCCain is Bush and he is not. He has ideas Bush has not thought of so stop on your channel making MCCain a man who has not his own mind. Stop showing your favorite love of Obama and if you cannot give fair and equal coverage to both then get out the business. I am protesting your channel until you become fair.

To the person above who tried to compare Obama and Palin with leaning to Obama. Palin was poor as a child and still have to toil the family budget. She has not gone to the top colleg that Obama has but, that does not show your charater. Obama love a beautiful black woman in Chicago and praised her because she was letting him take over her seat when she moves up. However, her bid to move up did not work out and she wanted to remain in her seat Obama found some way to get rid of her. When it was to his advantage she was the best canidate but, when he was not getting what he wanted he found out that she had fake signatures for voter which she had before and he let it slide because he was getting what he wanted. He took her out to move up but, those you walk over will get you on your way down. Obama charater is no good he was listed as mixed race canidate until the black vote was needed for him to move up so he listed himself as an African AMerican canidate to use the blacks to get where he wants. But, he is a mixed race man and should support both sides of his race or does he hate himself. He uses his race to play to what ever groug or race he is talking too. Oh, he should have chosen a black VP if he really wanted to show he African American but, he chose a white to make sure he has both races covered.SAD

I do not like Palin views on Pro choice but she is the best one on either ticket. She is tuff and know what it important such as energy independance, economy, families, education and most of all she know what is it like to have everything questioned because you are a woman. Women raise men so their ideas come mostly for those who raised them since most father are not in the picture,

“The ol’ boy network? In the McCain campaign, that’s called a staff meeting” made me laugh out loud in my car when I heard it on NPR this afternoon.
You have to admit it’s a great line.

Posted by: Filecabinet | September 18, 2008, 4:13 am 4:13 am

While yer all on the topic of “good old boy networks”, remember it’s the Democrats who incubated and nurturedthe current crisis in housing by forcing lenders to extend loans to unworthy credit risks. Freddie Mac and the fannie also gave money to Democrats, including Obama-as the top 3rd recipient, so that they would continue to support the disaster in making. How easy it is for these careerists to simply walk away from the monsters they create. Nanny Pelosi “will investigate”, providing the cloaking these Democrats need. In the meantime, Obama, who is clearly part of the problem, seeks to blame an individual-John McCain. Obama’s own hands are dirty. Govt. solutions often look like what we’re now facing-Failure. Obama promises more of it. His fellow Democrats are responsible, the same Democrats who will unify with Barack if he wins. If you like the Current House Of Rep, by all means vote Obama. If you like absolute Partisanship at all costs, vote for the cut-n-run Democrats. And if you want increased tax burdens placed on the economy, value taken from shareholders in Oil, force-feeding the economy “new”-energy that will destroy it, and continued division of America into more special self-interest segments, vote for the guy who promises it. Vote for the kid. He needs no real world experience, his inner god-like wisdom already has all the answers.

Posted by: bluecollarbytes | September 18, 2008, 7:09 am 7:09 am

His timing is off. Going negative and blaming does not feel like leadership. Problem-solving, solutions is what’s important. Blaming and taking names makes people angry and more afraid. There is plenty of time to investigate what happened. Maybe I am wrong, but I never saw Biden, Dodd, Pelosi and Reid holding press conferences in 2006 and 2007 when every one knew the bubble in the housing market was totally out of control. The average person on mainstreet knew the prices were crazy. Focus on solutions first.

hey, all you liberals wanna talk about a real issue, why don’t go to the the blog about dingy reid saying they don’t know what to do about the economic woes, are they not the one’s controlling legislation! you liberals need to stop talking so harsh about republicans when you own leader’s are saying WE DON’T KNOW WHAT TO DO! why don’t you liberal’s that think you know what to do start talking about what to do instead of saying let’s get rid of the republican and things well be fine, but your own democratic leaders are saying about themselves that WE DON’T KNOW WHAT TO DO, LOL!

I am writing this in response to the comments about minorities and the mortgage crisis being the result of the government forcing banks to give loans to minorities. I think that is BUNK… That has nothing to do with it. Stating that is very prejudicial… What only people of color defaulted on loans? Thats ridiculous! There are more people who defaulted on their loans who were NOT people of color. The shear number of white people in America would bear that out. As for me I have excellent credit as does my wife and we have a mortgage and we havent defaulted on it. BUT they took me through every kind of form or proof to prove that we were credit worthy… It took almost two months to get the loan. That was 16 years ago before Congress started leaning on banks to make their process equal as it should be. This crisis is the result of greedy people trying to capitalize on the ridiculous housing market as it was. Did anyone ever catch those comical shows on HGTV. There was one WHITE couple who were both teachers were buying a house that was priced at close to 1 million dollars in San Francisco… AND THEY GOT THE LOAN… ARe you kidding me…

tony: You’re dreaming!
Quinnipiac Never I mean Never shows
McCain with any kind of a lead if at
all so you can discount that poll!
The CBS/Times poll speaks for itself!
Both supposed news organizations
make up phony stories to suit their
political goals!
This election will be decided by the
independents and in the end they will not vote for someone whose resume is as
thin as the Community Organizer’s and
cannot name a single accomplishment
from his limited time as a U.S. Senator!
By the way you should know that the
liberal news organizations will report
that Barack Obama won all three debates!
They are probably writing their stories
now a little more than a week before the
first debate!
Obama will lose the election, Tony!
You can bet your house on it!

“The American economy is the envy of the world, and we need to keep it that way” “I’m not an economist” “The fundamentals of our economy are strong” George W Bush – Aug 9, 2007
“The issue of economics is not something I’ve understood as well as I should” John McCain – Dec 17. 2007
“Our economy, I think, still the fundamentals of our economy are strong” – John McCain – Sep 15. 2008
Does anyone see a pattern here? Are 50% of the American people really stupid enough to still support either of these two clueless idiots?
