ABC News’ Teddy Davis, Arnab Datta, and Rigel Anderson Report: During an interview with CBS News’ Katie Couric which aired Thursday evening, Sarah Palin called Barack Obama "beyond naïve" for wanting to talk "without preconditions" to rogue leaders.
"I think, with Ahmadinejad, personally, he is not one to negotiate with," said Palin, referring to Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. "You can’t just sit down with him with no preconditions being met."
"Barack Obama is so off base in his proclamation that he would meet with some of these leaders around our world who would seek to destroy America and that, and without preconditions being met," she continued. "That’s beyond naïve. And it’s beyond bad judgment."
Asked if she considers former Republican Secretary of State Henry Kissinger to be "naïve" for supporting talks without preconditions, Palin said, "I’ve never heard Henry Kissinger say, ‘Yeah, I’ll meet with these leaders without preconditions being met.’"
Palin was overlooking that Kissinger (with whom she met earlier this week) has backed negotiating directly with Iran over its nuclear program and other bilateral issues — a point which Couric reconfirmed at the closer of her interview.
"Incidentally," said Couric, "we confirmed Henry Kissinger’s position following our interview, he told us he supports talks if not with Ahmadinejad, than with high-level Iranian officials without preconditions."
When contacted by ABC News about the split in position with Kissinger, the McCain-Palin campaign had no immediate comment.

Post Turtle
While suturing a cut on the hand of a 75-year old Texas rancher whose
hand was caught in a gate while working cattle, the doctor struck up a
conversation with the old man. Eventually the topic got around to Sarah
Palin and her bid to be a heartbeat away from being President .
The old rancher said, ‘Well, ya know, Palin is a post turtle.’
Not being familiar with the term, the doctor asked him what a post
turtle was.
The old rancher said, ‘When you’re driving down a country road and you
come across a fence post with a turtle balanced on top, that’s a ‘post
turtle.’
The old rancher saw a puzzled look on the doctor’s face, so he continued
to explain. ‘You know she didn’t get up there by herself, she doesn’t
belong up there, she doesn’t know what to do while she is up there, and
you just wonder what kind of dumb ass put her up there to begin with.

Just imagine what Kissinger was thinking when he saw Palin “”"discuss”"”" foreign policy issues with Gibson and Couric.

Keep it up Katie. Is this the best you can do to get people to watch your show? Pretty pathetic. I would tell you you’re almost as bad as Charlie Gipson, but that wouldn’t be truthful. Unfortunately, you’re not that smart. So here’s the deal, the more you “pick on” Palin, the deeper you dig you’re own grave. Do you really think Perky Katie will ever be able to come back after appearing as a spiteful, vindictive, ankle biter. So, keep it up, I know I’ll never watch you again.

Seriously, how in the world does someone with absolutely NO KNOWLEDGE of anything become a VP candidate?
I hope people are listening to the rediculous and scary display of McCain’s judgement.

2- And who said: “I BEG TO DISAGREE WITH ANY CANDIDATE WHO WOULD SAY WE CAN’T DRILL OUR WAY OUT OF OUR PROBLEMS”
Choose your Answer:

B – Former Mayor of Wasila Against Alaska’s Governor
C – Brystol Palins Mom Against Willow Palin’s Mom
D – All of the Above

What arrogance and disrepect – I don’t think this woman “foreign policy expert” with her six year bachelor degree in journalism could carry Obama’s briefcase. Who is she to so publicly diss a man who has accomplished much academically and in his career? It shows her insecurity – competent people can disagree intelligently on complex subjects without such disdain. She should just continue to shut up and be thought stupid than to continue to open her mouth and remove all doubt. Go home before you completely embarrass yourself, your state and your family.

Ha ha ha!
Barack Obama is so ‘down to earth’ that the little minds like Sarah’s easily overlook the magnitude of the man.
Barack Obama is a Harvard Lawyer, a University professor, spent 11 years in State and National Legislatures, and has been given props by other experienced Senators on the Foreign Relations Committee; yet this little c-grade college grad, Sarah Falin, thinks such a HIGHLY INTELLIGENT & HIGHLY EDUCATED US Senator is ‘naive’? lol
Sarah Falin hardly knows what foreign policy issues are and she is trying to be snotty. Then the McCaint campaign gets defensive when this ‘green’ Falin is called out for her lack of national and international aptitude and experience? lol
Childishly and foolishly holding a foreign opponents in disdain is exactly the kind of narrow-mindedness why bush-McCaint got humiliated by Russians over Georgia!

What is it with you Palin supporters? Any time this woman is asked a simple question, she makes a stupid answer. Then you complain she’s being “picked on”?
The truth is she IS NOT PREPARED TO LEAD OUR NATION!
ANYONE. I mean anyone could do and say exactly what she is doing and saying. But this is not the “WHO WANTS TO BE VICE PRESIDENT” show.
Some of us want the BEST MINDS for our leadership – not some mediocre minded prom queen who can only read a sarcastic speech and a guy who keeps reciting life events from 40 years ago.
You folks probably think the Hannity infomercial was a “real” interview.

“Seriously, how in the world does someone with absolutely NO KNOWLEDGE of anything become a VP candidate?”
By having:
• Executive experience being a change agent as a Governor, fighting corruption and gov’t waste.
• Executive experience with budgeting and running a government.
• Experience with energy issues – we have an energy crisis that is threatening our national security.
• Life experience that has taught her to value the core values that have made America a great nation:
o Free Market/Pro-growth economic policies
o Strong national defense to stand up to evil regimes rather than appease them
o A gov’t that promotes traditional values, in a non-coercive way.

Know what; I only read the commentaries on bush’s and Falin’s speeches. lol
The breadth of their thinking is so narrow; it is very very hard to watch and listen to the shallow baby of such intellectually challenged individuals who are supposed to be leaders.
US badly needs to upgrade the educational system. In this way, we won’t have a majority of mis-educated citizens voting fellow fools into office.
That is one of the huge down sides of democracy; fools get to vote for their own kind. And if they have the numbers, the nation perishes!

How much Bank scandel actually follows McCain? Well, He was investigated and largely exonerated in a political influence scandal of the 1980s as a member of the ‘Keating Five’. His connection to Rick Davis, who imbezzeled money from Fannie Mae, as early as last Month. And one of McCains sons, who was a bank auditor, mysteriously left his job , two months before the bank went bankrupt. Even another Senator from an earlier speech, connected McCain to the scandel in the 1980′s. The ‘Keats five’. McCain has told us, he has been in contact with the Senate, but even the Senators said, they had not spoken to him. He just heard of the plan two days ago. McCain has lost Touch. Being touched by CORUPTION, must make him feel a little numb. If he can still feel at all.
I have a question, about any other organizations, he may be a part of.
Americans may be curious to know which one. I suggest transparency be implemented. At least that is McCains platform. It still is, Right?

Kissinger kept communism alive in the Soviet Union about 10 years longer than it should have lasted by supporting payments to the Soviets. Many scholars look at Kissinger as a naive idealist. Now Obama follows the same policies as Kissinger. To say you agree with Kissinger is not flattering at all.

If Sarah Palin is so arrogant and thinks she’s such an expert, why isn’t she forcing McCain’s hand to speak out, take dozens of interviews, and meet with the big bad press? Does she really think people look at her credentials and then Obama’s and think she has the constitutional knowledge to go around ridiculing other politicians? This isn’t Wasilla, where you only have to be smarter than a few thousand other people. I am a professional woman with an advanced degree and certification, and I am so ashamed when I see her embarrass all of us. She is the epitome of what I have fought against my whole career – a token female brought in to a situation to be used as a means to an end. Women have struggled for so long to be treated fairly, and recognized for their education and accomplishments. She seems to be the only one who cannot recognize she is being used. Does she have no dignity to be gagged like the crazy grandma and not allowed out in public on her own? At some level, since she goes along with this treatment, even she must acknowledge deep down that she is woefully out of her league.

The Republicans can not even agree with each other. Some have been on news stating they agree with the Dems, and some do not. Even Richard Shelby said the Rebuplicans, may not be able, to stop the vote. But then the Republicans, say they can not agree with each other. Bill O’Reilly just played a recording attacking Jews. O’Reilly is a sick man. Why has he not called out McCains coruption. Because he is ‘Fair and McCained.’ Why hasn’t he played McCains Pastor on his show? Here are some words for Obama supporters:
Obama’s own words
“Just this past week, we passed out of the US Senate Banking Cmte, which is my Cmte a bill…” on 7/23/2008 The promblem is he is NOT on this Cmte.
It’s just words!
“My father served in WWII, and when he came home, he got the services that he needed.” on 6/28/2008. remark at the NALEO conference in DC. The only probem is that his father NEVER served.
It’s just words!
“I’m NOT favor of SAME sex marriage, but favor civil UNION” in Zaneville, OH on 7/1/2008.
It’s just words!
“Because, you know, it is just wonderful to be back in Oregon, and over the last 15 months we’ve traveled to every corner of US. I’ve now been in 57 States, I think one left to go. One left to go, Alaska AND Hawaii I was not allowed to go even though I really wanted to visit, but my staff would not justify it.” at Beaverton, OR on 5/9/2008
It’s just words!
There are MORE, these are just a few highlights.
Now, who is the DUMBASS? What say you Obama supporters?
I’ll take Palin’s comment “I can Russia..” any time. At least, I know it’s ACCURATE!

Five former U.S. secretaries of state on Monday announced their support for talks with Iran, with all five saying the United States should not wait to launch diplomatic engagements with the Islamic Republic.
The former chief diplomats, Madeleine K. Albright; James A. Baker, III; Warren Christopher; Henry A. Kissinger; and Colin L. Powell issued their support for talks during a roundtable discussion entitled “The Next President: A World of Challenges,” held at Washington D.C.’s George Washington University.

Sarah Palin employed a lobbyist who also worked for Jack Abramoff to secure $27 million in pork spending for Wasilla – more than $4,000 per resident.
In her two years as governor, requested $453 MILLION in earmarks.
Alaska ranks first in the nation for pork, taking in SEVEN TIMES the national average.

Palin understands that you cannot negotiate or try to reason with a crazy person. It’s just makes them more unstable. Iranians are certifiable, just ask one of their citizens if they think the justice system is fair. They inprison and torture their people for no logical reason. An American FBI agent went there to investigate cigarette smuggling in 2007 and hasn’t been seen since.
Why do we want to appease and negotiate with the unstable, illogical leaders in Iran? No matter what we say or do, they will always hate us for just being who we are. They think U.S. is a sinful country because we tolerate homesexuality, women are not required to wear head coverings, we do not stone people to death for adultery or for speaking out against our country’s leaders. Young girls are required to marry older men who are abusive. If the women have children and decide to divorce, she is an outcast and doesn’t even have rights to her children. Women can be inprisoned for being alone with a male unrelated to her. They hate all our music, TV shows and arts.
Ahmadenjad has absolutely no respect for the U.S. and mocks us to our face. Yet, the far left feels it necessary to honor him with a banquet, and Larry King feels it necessary to have a little pow-wow with him on his show when he visits here.
Until Iran shows some humanity towards their people, Israel and the U.S. we do not owe them a sit down, negotiation, handshake or a kiss-my-@ss.

I don’t recall that Kissinger is particularly wise or successful. He was mediocre, at best.
Let’s see him obtain verifiably successful cooperation with A-hole-dine-jihad before we praise him any more.
I’d rather see Palin squeeze that Little Monkey’s peanuts, anyway.

And guess what, about Todd Palin?
:)
Of course, Sarah could not join. But she could speak at a group meeting. She’s a Female. Only Men join this group. Women join the OTHER ONE.
Who is Senator Richard Shelby…
Who wants the answers?
So McCain sides with FOREIGN CAPITOLIST NAZIS. The Far Right Republican have voiced their opinions, about America. The Do want it to fall. And the said IRAN was bad. CAPITOL TERRORISTS ARE ALREADY IN AMERICA. They are just waiting for Middle America, to kill eachother, trying to get to them. A ‘CHEMICAL WEDDING’, is the story of Republicans.

What has the Bush administration accomplished with its foriegn policies? Nothing! Heck, It can’t get any worse by sitting down with our enemies and at least trying to accomplish something.
Pointing out how much they hate everything western doesn’t make the nuclear threat just go away. Taking the high and mighty road and saying “we don’t owe them” is just BS. Obviously you don’t see our enemies as human. And for that you have already lost the battle of diplomacy. Had Ronald Reagan not sat with Gorbey where would Russia be today? Better off? Nevermind, I just realized that you shouldn’t argue with an Idiot.
I’m all for diplomacy and if that fails you go to step 2. That is simply all that Obama is saying. How is that so hard to understand?

“I BEG TO DISAGREE WITH ANY CANDIDATE WHO WOULD SAY WE CAN’T DRILL OUR WAY OUT OF OUR PROBLEMS”
and my favorite:
“we began a nearly $40 BILLION natural gas pipeline to help lead America to energy independance”
IT HAS NOT BEEN APPROVED!!
Wtih federal approval YEARS AWAY, not a single section of teh pipeline has been laid. and thanks to Sarah BRILLIANT negotiation, the State could end up paying the pipeline’s contractor $500 Million EVEN IF IT NEVER BREAKS GROUND ON THE PROJECT.

Please Katie, what you people don’t understand we like Sarah Palins wrappings, just the way she was presented to us. We don’t want you disturbing that picture we have of her. We don’t want to look inside the package, we don’t care what is inside.
We don’t care if she is shallow and not a deep thinker or even not very knowledgable, so stop trying to point it out to us.
That is why you have a liberal bias, you are always looking for facts and truth, not things that we care anything about.
I know you probably think you are just trying to have an adult conversation with Sarah, but she clearly can’t handle her, so treat her like you would a fragile 6 year old.
We don’t want to get to really know her. We like what we see and we dont’ want to know anymore about it.
We only want what will reinforce what we already think and believe.

Kissinger may support unconditional subordinate-level talks with the Iranians, but that is a far cry from Obama’s statement that he would be willing to go directly into talks at the presidential level. It is naive to do so without first laying a framework by subordinates. Katie is mixing apples and oranges when she suggests that Palin disagrees with Kissinger.
If you want VP gaffs, go no further than Katie’s interview with Biden in which he said FDR went on TV to calm Americans after the 1929 crash, even though Hoover was president at the time and it was pre-TV era. To quote one of the postings above: “Seriously, how in the world does someone with absolutely NO KNOWLEDGE of anything become a VP candidate?” Instead of casting stones at each misstatement of some arcane fact, look instead at the character and judgment of the person. The “gotcha” game being played by the media doesn’t serve our republic well. After all, we are selecting leaders, not Jeopardy contestants.

ABC — Help!!!
Sarah Palin needs a tutorial in US History. Does anyone recall that during the height of the Cold War with the former USSR, Dr. Kissinger was Secretary of State in the Nixon Administration.
Russia war our archenemy, and providing active military aid to the NVC, and otherwise taking every conceivable position to harm our troops and interests around the world. Pres. Nixon and SS Kissinger continued negotiations with the former USSR, and despite the bad blood, threat of war, MAD, etc., we (the US) still participated in a joint space venture with the Soviets.
Yes. We talk to enemies. Yes. We work on projects together. Yes. We do small things to hopefully use diplomacy to build the goodwill essential to getting something, anything, done in our Nation’s self-interest.
Sarah Palin is so naive, so scripted, so uneducated, that only people as intellectually inferior to her could possibly believe she has any business participating in these discussions. She could not win a high school debate on foreign policy and history. What a pathetic joke she is.
So, I guess if Sen Obama proposed negotiations with Iran, diplomatic sit downs, and even a joint space mission with Iran for peace, he would be only a naive fool according to Palin, despite that this would be a diplomatic play right of out of one of the most successful diplomatic teams (Nixon/Kissinger) in the history of the US. Many mistakes were made, obviously, but nobody can dispute the progress they (Nixon/Kissinger) made viz China, the USSR, SALT, etc. Somehow the name Palin just does not have the gravitas of some of our country’s other major players, Kennedy, Nixon, Kissinger, Truman, Johnson, etc. She is a joke!

This article fails to point out that Kissinger said that to be successful, lower level parties should meet before heads of state. He is essentially saying the same things as Palin. Hillary Clinton debated these same points with Obama, and he then started backtracking.
If Katie Couric is also trying to find a gotha moment with Palin, I am a little surprised and disappointed. Obama, who is running for the top spot, has less experience than Palin. Going to Harvard for two years of law school does not make him a deep brain. There are many deeper brains coming from universities all over this country. Obama is full of himself. Palin is intelligent, educated, has a lot of experience in leading, and she has integrity with a fighting spirit. That is what we need now in facing our huge problems–not someone who is solely interested in his own agenda. Debates can wait, or we can even do without them. We have, so far. Let the lofty rhetoric guy read his soundbites from his teleprompter. Let McCain continue to answer questions on his own two feet at town hall meetings. We see the substance, or lack of it at any venue.

You guys are incredibly naive if you think it is perfectly okay for the U.S. to meet with foreign aggressors without any preconditions. The United States Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice (the expert in foreign affairs) said that the United States would and should never go into a meeting with Iran or North Korea without preconditions or leverage. She is the one who really has foreign policy experience and she stays out of politics when it comes to people campaigning. I’ll believe her and go with what she says. I’ll also go with the number of other countries (including European countries) that refuse to meet aggressors without preconditions.

Palin is a joke and you right wing nuts need to stop your madness. American people have had enough of you lying nuts. Do, Say, Lie to get elected, but this year the American people will not be caught up in your traps. If Palin know what is good for her she would not bad mouth Obama because Biden just might not like that and that can spell trouble for you Palin. You all ready sound like a broken recorder that needs to be fixed.

leaders around our world who would seek to destroy America is becasue of Bush and people like McSame and Palin. They Love Obama more then the USA people and that should tell the American people something. War is not the answer peace is and Obama represent peace. McBush/McPalin represent WAR, WAR, AND MORE WAR. McPalin need not to speak becasue she is embrassing the USA.

So there was Obama in the white house with President Bush, John McCain, dingy harry, and stretch pelosi and he didn’t even say a single word. Why? He forgot to bring along his teleprompter. But all was not lost, on the way out he found a teleprompter on the White House steps and was thrilled to at say a few words – any words.

I’d rather have Palin for VP than Obama for President any day. Obama said that “Iran is a tiny country that doesn’t pose a serious threat.” If Iran is not a serious threat then why are so many members of the United Nations posing sanctions and trying to ensure that Iran does not get nuclear weapon capability? How can Iran not be a serious threat to the U.S. when it sends the Iranian Revolutionary Guard into Iraq to kill our soldiers? How can it not be a serious threat when Iran is giving 100 million dollars per year to the terrorist organization Hezbollah? How can Obama not see Iran as a serious threat?
Obama also wants to meet with foreign aggressors without any preconditions! The Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice (THE expert in foreign affairs) says the U.S. would be foolish to enter into negotiations with Iran, North Korea, etc without some leverage and preconditions. That doesn’t mean you don’t meet (we’ve been meeting with these countries for years), bur you handle the situation with caution and like you have a brain in your head!
Palin is inexperienced, but then so is Obama. Yet Obama has made hugely naïve statements, which if he carries through as President would prove dangerous.

Mark,
I am really tired of people who put their parties first.
>>>>>> OBAMA NEVER SAID IRAN WAS TINY<<<<<<<<<<<
Obama, May 18: Strong countries and strong presidents talk to their adversaries. That's what Kennedy did with Khrushchev. That's what Reagan did with Gorbachev. That's what Nixon did with Mao. I mean think about it. Iran, Cuba, Venezuela – these countries are tiny compared to the Soviet Union. They don't pose a serious threat to us the way the Soviet Union posed a threat to us. And yet we were willing to talk to the Soviet Union at the time when they were saying we're going to wipe you off the planet.

I can’t comment on Obama wanting to meet without preconditions because (UNLIKE PALIN) i don’t talk about things I don’t know for a fact.

You oughta try it sometime. Obama’s adviser CREATED Al-Qaeda on behalf of that “peaceful” Jimmy (incompertent) Carter. And McCain is a liberal Democrat with a death complex. (Enviromental heresy, WAR, financial adviser Gramm changed the law to make this banking theft possible!) THEY BOTH ARE HERE TO SCREW YOU!!! Hate to pee in your cheerios but it’s true. Obama isn’t running to help you, he’s running to be cheif spokesman for these bankers and multinational corporations that don’t even PAY taxes! GIGI: no the main point is that Obama does comment against all intelligence, facts, and reason. He will talk like he knows everything about Iraq without having ever spoken with Petraeus and then be forced to concede that he was wrong. He did not know the basic fundamentals of the Sunni awakening before he made a comment. Obama will agree to meet with aggressive foreign nations without preconditions, a concept that every foreign affairs expert will disagree with flat out and say it is beyond reason. The majority of his policies are founded upon his tax plan which Obama admitted he will have to put on hold if the economy gets worse. Guess what, the economy got worse. So I guess there is no plan now. There are a number of other things as well.

AND they are still trying!
With Federal approval YEARS AWAY not a single section of the pipeline has been laid. Alaska could end up paying the pipeliner’s contractor $500 million – even if it NEVER breaks ground on the project.
Posted by: GIGI | September 26, 2008, 12:20 am 12:20 am
Sorry, forgot to cite sources… these are not my sources, but I’ll use them for veracity’s sake:
Factcheck.org
Actually, construction hasn’t begun on the pipeline, and the project isn’t quite a done deal. Palin signed legislation just last week that authorizes the state to give a license in 90 days to TransCanada to start developing the project. The state also can provide $500 million as seed money. She gets credit for moving the pipeline closer to realization after many years of talks. Palin pushed for legislation that would allow a private company to build the 1,715-mile natural gas pipeline, instead of oil companies, which she said were moving too slowly on the issue.
In an Aug. 27 press release, Palin indicated that there was still work to be done before the project would become a reality:
Palin, press release, Aug. 27: After dreaming of a natural gas pipeline for more than 30 years, Alaskans have now created the framework for the project to advance. This legislation brings us closer than we’ve ever been to building a gas pipeline and finally accessing our gas that has been languishing for so many decades on the North Slope.
POLITIFACT.com
There is no agreement to build, and it’s not $40-billion
But I’m glad you bring it up, because I have now also learned that:
SHE OPPOSED THE PIPELINE IN THE PAST – now I just need to find out WHY she opposed it, maybe she’s got good reasons (LOL! weirder things HAVE happened)

I actually feel sorry for Mrs. Palin. Mr. McCain and the campaign are using her. They brought her in because their campaign was sagging, they have kept her under lock and key, and now for some reason they have more or less just dropped her out there and she is just making one blunder after another. How can anyone blame Katie Couric for the interview? This woman could be the next Pres of the U.S., isn’t anybody ever going to ask her a question? This would be funny if it weren’t so serious.

Three weeks ago you were dancing in the streets about McChicken’s pick of Palin for VP and how “great life was!”
At that time I had one thing to say, and it came to pass today. I said Palin was like a meteor flying across the night sky, shining so brightly!!
I also said within a month that meteor Palin would first sputter, then burn out completely and finally hit the ground with a big THUD!!
Well Republicans just after Palin’s interview on CBS today with Katie Couric, the meteor has landed – THUD!!!
This plus McChicken’s “suspension” of his campaign (what a joke) and him going to Washington today to MESS UP the negotiations on the bailout today, there is only one thing left to say…
Bye, bye McCain and hello President Obama!!

AC: Some Republican critics say, you don’t have the experience to handle a situation like this [Hurricane Gustav]. They’ve in fact said that Governor Palin has more executive experience as mayor of a small town and as governor of a big state like Alaska. What’s your response?
BO: Well, you know, my understanding is that, uh, Governor Palin’s town of Wasilly [sic] has, uh, 50 employees, uh, uh, we’ve got 2500, uh, in this campaign. I think their budget is maybe $12 million a year. Uh, uh, we have a budget of about three times that just for the month. Uh, so I think that, uh, our ability to manage large systems, uh, and to, uh, execute, uh, I think has been made clear over the last couple of years. Uh, and certainly, in terms of, uh, the legislation that I’ve passed just dealing with this issue post-Katrina, uh, of how we handle emergency management. The fact that, uh, many of my recommendations were adopted and are being put in place, uh, as we speak indicates to extent to which we can provide the kinds of support and good service that the American people expect.
Laughable. Obama: I’m going to completely ignore Palin’s experience as governor because I can’t compete. I know my campaign managers run my campaign, but this is the best I have.
Obama in this one statement you have just said that your best qualification to run for the executive position of President is your ability to run a campaign, the campaign your managers run for you.
As for the rest, I live in Louisiana, so does the majority of my family. Everything I’ve seen put into place were common sense and everyone was recommending them. My six-year old at the time said we needed stronger levees and all of us were wondering at the poor communications between government levels. I’ll also say that a lot of the problems were with the governor of the time. So I’m not buying Obama’s “I’m qualified”

NO, no no no no… don’t come in this board ignoring ALL THE REAL CONCERNS, ignoring the true story on top (that Palin is IGNORANT and claims whatever she does not SEE does not exist) and SPIN things around…
acknowledge the posts, yeah… those post that once there as you see, HOURS AND HOURS pass before your short term memory makes you come back to defend Palin!!

I also question whether you truly believe that Palin, the one person who actually got the construction of a natural gas pipeline to supply NG to the lower 48 is truly unqualified. This one project alone politicians have tried to pass for thirty years without success until Palin.

AND they are still trying!
With Federal approval YEARS AWAY not a single section of the pipeline has been laid. Alaska could end up paying the pipeliner’s contractor $500 million – even if it NEVER breaks ground on the project.

The “confirmation” CBS got (which wasn’t from Kissinger himself as they inplied) sounds like it confirms what Palin said about his position.

Former U.S. secretaries of state say they support talks with Iran
By Natasha Mozgovaya, Haaretz Correspondent and Haaretz Service

Five former U.S. secretaries of state on Monday announced their support for talks with Iran, with all five saying the United States should not wait to launch diplomatic engagements with the Islamic Republic.
The former chief diplomats, Madeleine K. Albright; James A. Baker, III; Warren Christopher; Henry A. Kissinger; and Colin L. Powell issued their support for talks during a roundtable discussion entitled “The Next President: A World of Challenges,” held at Washington D.C.’s George Washington University.

She’s beyond the “Post Turtle”. She’s dumb as the post. But she’s correct. I can’t remember when I’ve ever heard Henry say, “Yahhh . . .” preceding anything. She’s supposedly developed her views thru her “education” but that education hasn’t included grammar or pronunciation, much less elocution.

This woman is in so far over her head she is doing all women a disservice. When she just came on the scene I thought I would support her as a former Hillary girl. Now I hope they find some way of just easing her out. She is a total embarrassment. Even if Obama doesn’t have a lot of experience, at least he can think on his feet and he is intelligent. This woman’s answers are the kind you would expect from a someone who you wouldn’t consider for an executive role on the PTA.

I wished Katie and company would quite pickin’ on poor Sarah and askin’ difficult questions which have no relevance of being a leader. Why can’t she ask important questions which would qualify her for second in command like. How far is it to Anchorage give or take a few miles? And for security issues and such, how about what kind of shotgun would she use if she were attacked by a bunch of rabid wolves? And border security, what kind of fence would she use to keep foxes outta the hen house? These are the difficult and challenging questions we should be askin’ potential leaders of the free world. Now quit pickin’ on poor ole Sarah! Sincerely from GOPer down south

Well, doesn’t this just speak volumes…Dem’s and Libs thought they had the Rep’s beat. Relaxed and comfortable, hardly a peep from them in weeks. Along comes Palin…and they are like a nest of hornets disturbed on a quiet afternoon. Sarah Palin is someone many Americans can relate to, an ordinary person in a hardworking family, facing many of the same problems that the majority of Americans face. She is someone that has enormous executive experience with actual proof of what she has accomplished, with good conservative values and beliefs. (Of course that’s another problem with you lib’s, that she is pro-life…so I ask, what rights do babies have, it’s a sickening shame. God help your soul) What I’d like to know, is when will Obama have to answer detailed questions about his terrorist and racist associations? Or will he just “hmmmm and haaa…uhmmm and ahhh” through it like he does every other question he is asked. How can you libs put your blinders on to the fact that his associations are racists and terrorists…does this not matter to you? Do you care so little about what could become of our Country with Obama supporting these types of peoople? What in the world are you thinking???? It must be you don’t care who the democrat is running for office…you only care that a democat gets into office. That’s smart.

[It's not really the willingness to talk, it's so far the inability to define what we are trying to accomplish," Kissinger said. "The negotiations depend on a balance of incentives and penalties. Have we got those right at every point? Not at every point."]
Read the above carefully and then tell me that Kissinger advocates what was written in this article. NO. He doesn’t. He says,”…The negotiations depend on a balance of incentives and penalties”,…this statement and story linked in the above article.
Once again, skewing what is said to meet YOUR slant.
Shameful.

Nothing has ever been accomplished without talking about it first. You cannot begin to negotiate if you only want to talk about what you want, and are not willing to listen as well. So, what’s wrong with talking?

She answers questions with a bunch of words that put together don’t make much sense. You would think she was running for president so it shows she is only looking out for herself and the rest of us be dammed. Now some of us want her in an important job just how many people live in Alaska as compared to the whole USA. Her knowledge about anything would fit on the head of a common pin.

Palin is better than Kissinger then.
“Hawkish” Reagan & Thatcher who won the cold war against Russia – not the “naive” Presidents like Carter.
Obama is a traitor who wants to talk to IRAN without preconditions. SHAME!!.
Like it or not, Palin’s position is better for USA in this evil world where there are good and bad people.

mortimer snerd: You must be as old as that 75 year old man. And are you a doctor. If you were fixing his hand he’s the one that put the turtle on the post and got a splinter doing it. Serves him right He probably was so senile he didn’t know what he was putting up there.

SarahM: And may I ask do you have a high position yourself that you can talk against Palin. For your information when Couric was first hired, there were complaints against her and they almost fired her. The problem with the news media they want you to answer the questions the way they think you should answer them. That is not the case. And she is a bad interviewer. She is no Diane Sawyer or Robin Roberts. She needs to take lessons from them.

Rose S. And how much knowledge do you have and how come your not running for the senate, mayor or governor. Maybe you should run for the presidency since you know so much.

l: Well calling the kettle black are you talking about Obama. He matches that kettle. The only difference is you can clean the kettle with Brillo but you can’t change Obama. And what high paying job do you have. Are you in the political field? I don’t think so.

McCain said that Kissinger would not have a president of the U.S. sit down with Ahmadinejad without preconditions. He did not say that others like secretaries cant. In fact, he said they do and will. Get the facts straight.

Palin= Puppet. She has no idea what her camp supports. From not being aware of the Bush doctrine to not being able to name another regulation that McCain has supported/developed, she is clueless. It is amazing how people are trying to coddle her and throw the word sexism around. I am female and she is an embarrassment. Why even accept the offer when you have NO clue what you are signing on to?!?

I thought, at one time, that I was Democratic. However, I see that I am an Independent. What is up with the Democrats wanting to support every person out there in regards to medical insurance and income. What happened to the United States of America…..working hard everyday for support of yourself and your children. The Government doesn’t and shouldn’t have to support all citizens! I have made a choice to NOT have children. Why should I have to support the children of other citizens in the United States of America? I am not insensitive and understand the challenges that all parents face….I have family that are facing these same challenges. However, I have to say…..support the children that you have…..take the responsibility that you choose. My family has done so and continues to do so. We would be a better country if we encouraged SELF-SUFFICIENCY….not government dependence. America…..please rise up and take control of your own lives.

I SENT THIS LETTER TO MY REPRESENTATIVES IN CONGRESS:
We demand that Congress stops adding earmarks and pork within the contents of the “Bail Out Bill”. In addition we do not want a payout to ACORN — or any organization like ACORN.
We feel this is an egregious abuse of House and the Senate positions in Congress. Enough is enough.
We will no longer continue to vote or support any Representative or Senator who votes for bills with earmarks and pork or allots money to ACORN.
I BELIEVE THE PEOPLE WHO WALKED AWAY WITH TONS OF MONEY SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE BAIL OUT.
If the government agrees to pay off mortgages for people who bought homes they could not afford — then the government needs to pay off ALL mortgages for ALL legal American citizens.
I don’t want my tax payments used to pay off somebody else’s home!
I PERSONALLY AM AGAINST A WALL STREET BAILOUT BUT AT LEAST FORKING OVER A THIRD OF THE MONEY — WITH THE REST CONTINGENT ON EFFECTIVENESS — MAKES SENSE.
I AM TOTALLY AGAINST GIVING 10% TO ORGANIZATIONS LIKE “ACORN”. PEOPLE SHOULD NOT BUY HOMES THEY CAN’T AFFORD. DO NOT BAIL THEM OUT.
NORTH CAROLINA TAXPAYER

Barack Hussein Obama is campaigning tomorrow — promoting “himself”.
Why isn’t Obama going back to DC to work on our country’s crisis? If he can’t do his senate job — he surely can’t run this country! — OR maybe that’s above his pay grade!

Henry Kissinger says in this article that he does approve of direct talks with Iran. Below is an excerpt from the article and the Link is here: http://deseretnews.com/article/content/mobile/1,5620,695261802,00.html?printView=true
“One should be prepared to negotiate, and I think we should be prepared to negotiate about Iran,” Kissinger, who brokered the end of the 1973 Yom Kippur war and peace talks with the North Vietnamese, said in an interview with Bloomberg Television. Asked whether he meant the U.S. should hold direct talks, Kissinger, 84, responded: “Yes, I think we should.”

Marian P responds just like Ms Palin. Wide off the mark , trying to obfuscate the issue at hand. What does my having high or low office have to do with Palin being in over her head. For your information Ms P, I am just an ordinary citizen who has opinions and in this fair democracy of ours, last time I checked, so I am free to express them without being of high office. Next Katie Couric is not the issue either. I hold no brief for her but she asked easy elementary questions of Palin that the woman couldn’t answer. If I couldn’t answer such simple questions, I certainly wouldn’t consider running for such high office if I couldn’t.

Someone on another post wrote:
“What is Palin referring to when she is discussing National security with Russia? She states …”it”s from Alaska we send THOSE out” What in blazes is she talking about? Send WHAT out?….spy planes…polar bears…airial wolf hunting expedition? What?
Alaskans have to be embarrased by this woman.”

Now that Kissinger has clearly stated he would not have presidential discussions without preconditions, will ABC retract this story?
Who fact checks the fact checkers?
These are rhetorical questions of course.

Dan1967, he said he supported talks, but he never said with preconditions, and he never said the President should meet with Iran either. IN fact, he clearly stated it should be at a ‘non presidental level’
Before you try and argue about it, take a look at his response. There is video at CNN and he said McCain is correct.

Kissinger agrees with Palin and McCain. ABC News reported it wrong. Kissinger does NOT support talks by the US president – only at the lower levels. Palin and McCain agree with Kissinger.
Obama does not and ABC News covers it up.
