Palin Says She’s Ready To Rumble
ABC News’ Ron Claiborne reports: Seemingly brimming with confidence, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin says she is ready to go head-to-head with Democratic Sen. Joe Biden in the vice presidential debate this week.
"I guess it’s my turn now and I do look forward to Thursday and debating Senator Biden," she told a roaring crowd at a joint campaign rally Monday in Columbus, Ohio with Republican presidential candidate Sen. John McCain.
Palin told the audience "I’ll do my part in St. Louis this week” in her debate against Sen. Biden, while mocking his age and experience, and his sports prognostication skills to the Ohio State Buckeye-friendly audience.
"I’m looking forward to meeting him too," Palin said. "I’ve never met him before. But, I’ve been hearing about his senate speeches since I was in like second grade. I have to admit though he is a great debater and looks pretty doggone confident like he’s sure he’s gonna win. But, then again this is the same Senator Biden who said the other day that the University of Delaware would trounce the Ohio State Buckeyes. Wrong!"
The allusion to Biden’s 36 years in the U.S. Senate was an odd remark coming from the running mate of McCain, 72, a man who has been in Congress for the past 26 years and whose age has been cited as a concern of many voters, according to the latest ABC News/Washington Post poll.
Palin, 44, has been facing criticism in recent days for seeming unsteady and halting answering questions in an interview with CBS Evening News anchor Katie Couric.
Palin will reportedly spend Tuesday and Wednesday in intense preparation for the debate.
McCain’s top advisers, Steve Schmidt and campaign manager Rick Davis, are working with her to get her ready for a debate at which some political analysts say she must do well to dispel questions about her experience and familiarity with national and international policy.

I was starting to feel sorry for her but guess her sharp tongue is out again.
BTW , I thought the Tina Fey spoof on SNL was just a joke. I didn’t realize she said those words verbatim. As a life-long republican I am highly disappointed. I also understand that during a brief QA on Sat after the debates, she agreed with Obama’s position on Pakistan rather than McCain’s such that he had to correct her statement on ABC. This is just too much!
I watched Obama during the debate and was very impressed by his intellect, composure and forward thinking ideas. This republican will be voting for the democrat this year.

I just don’t like this woman. She’s rude. I don’t see the charisma. I definitely don’t see the readiness…but with all those advisors working on her, I’ve no doubt she’ll cross the low standard bar everyone has set for her (talk about double standard)…but even then I will not be fooled by her.

Palin comes across as the popular girl who got off on being rude to others just because she was hot. But never had the brains. Got the breaks because people kissed her as*, but never had anything good to offer.
I can’t put someone like that in the White House…sorry. She’s just so mean.

Ha ha…funny coming from a dumb!@#ss whose running mate is ancient. But then again, she didn’t know what his foreign policy leadership was, so why would she remember his age? Where is all of this “confidence” and sharp tongue when she’s getting interviewed? Why is she always sitting there saying “uh, huh, I dont know, I’ll get back to ya?” She’s going to be toast on Thursday (and then she’ll scream sexism) and I cannot wait for her to crawl back under her redneck hole. This woman is a disgrace, a disgust, a lier, a cheater, and an idiot on and off paper. She deserves every bit of the media scrutiny she’s going to get after her “debate.” And by the way…if she was so confident, why did McCain’s camp have the “alter” the format of the debate to make it shorter/easier on her?

“I’m looking forward to meeting him too,” Palin said. “I’ve never met him before. But, I’ve been hearing about his senate speeches since I was in like second grade.”
Ok 1, I don’t know a lot of 7 or 8 year olds whose ears perk up when they hear about senate speeches. I also doubt seriously that her parents or likely any adult she associated with at that age was terribly intersted in what a democratic senator from the east coast was saying.
2. No matter how well prepared she is she has three points she will hit, she will refer to McCain’s position, she will try to be charming, she will fluff facts. Joe, you have to call her on thsi crap. This is big time politics. Make it clear you know John McCain better than she does, don’t let her get away with not answering questions, and call her on the facts time and again. Ther are any number of more qualified women McCain could have selected, be sure to remind her of that as well. She is out of her depth.

Palin does, indeed, have a sharp tongue & wit when it comes to pointing out what she thinks is deficiencies in others. But I don’t see much substance or depth beyond that. What an absolute cretin she is. She better be careful with her jabs at Biden – she will not fare well by going that route. She is msking fun of his experience and age? Give me a break. Her running mate is a lot older and less healthy than Joe Biden AND, more importantly, Biden does have the necessary experience – certainly more than being a mayor and first term governor of a state that is one-sixth the size of Chicago, and who believes that her experience is because she lives close to Russia? She is one step removed from having been a “Special Needs” child herself if she believes she can stand up to Biden. Any of you that side with her are definitely morons.

Two decades ago, Biden brought his first presidential campaign down with a colossal faux pas in a debate at the Iowa State Fair…
Biden proved to be a live wire in the primary debates of this season, though that didn’t get him far — he dropped his second presidential bid after the opening contest in Iowa…

And, now, Old Joe wants to be Obama’s hatchet man.
Perhaps the Democrats should substitute Alcee Hastings for Old Joe Biden.

Bombem, can you state specific reasons as to HOW Palin is going to govern this country and be an asset in foreign policy (yes, lets not go over the absurd answers about Russia that she’s stated, I can’t start laughing that hard again), education (since she barely got one herself), domestic policy, terrorism (does she know where Pakistan is on a map for starters), etc? And I wouldn’t call my 1.5 million dollar house, an MD/PhD education, travelling, dining, etc exactly “living in the sewer.” Aside from money though, I would call some people’s lives exactly that who blindly support a candidate without INTELLIGENTLY stating their argument for BOTH SIDES living in a vapid sewer.

She is so full of herself… but if she is so tough and confident, why has she and McCain used the coward card so many times by crying sexism?
She needs to take control of herself and get down to business and learn about the last 7yrs of economic and foreign policy and retain all of it in that mile high bun she wears…
McCain will say she won the debate because she showed up and didn’t fall before getting to the podium.

I refuse to make a final decision on Governor Palin until the debate. She defeated some long term entrenched powers in Alaska, I think the McCain campaign has totally mismanaged her and completely ruined her authenticity by trying to make her a Bushbot. Just let her go out and do her own thing, if the American people reject it so be it.
Anyway, all the people who think the Democrats will bring Utopia are a bunch of schmucks, they just FAILED to force the biggest theft in US Congressional history, proving they will save their campaign contribution interests against the protests of the American people, the ones they claim they represent, while never once calling a national emergency on any of their pet projects. Democrats love chaos in America and exploiting it to win an election, they never have held a 10 day all night work week session on health care, or education, or municipal development, only on their Wall Street crooked friends in Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac covering Barney Frank’s butt, not an easy task, and Dodd’s corruption in the process. Pelosi is the dumbest woman in Washington, she couldn’t even strongarm her own party into supporting this defamation of the public trust, there is no way Palin who enjoys an 85% approval rating compared to Pelosi’s 18% could be anywhere near as bad. Let Sarah be Sarah, and the libs can hang their head in shame when America continues to die should they win a fraudulent election. Party politics over principle everytime, with $700 billion we could save almost every social program in the country. Wake up, Bush is a liberal because its the Democrats who keep voting on his pet projects like this ignorant bailout and amnesty. Take him with you back to San Francisco!

Palin can fake all the confidence she wants. The truth will come out on Thursday when she is unable to recall the cliff notes version of what a Vice President should know. They’ve only given her two days to study, clearly that’s not enough. She couldn’t remember McCain’s stance on invading Pakistan the day after she watched the debate. I read a report on Huffington Post that the media is now shying away from doing their job in ensuring they keep on Palin to answer their questions. If that is true, how sad for the American people!! The media needs to continue to be responsible & that means the voters having the right to learn what the candidates stands on the major issues are. It also notes in the same article that Maureen Dowd has been banned from the McCain plane…how outrageous….the U.S. is still a democracy is it not? And that means the media should not be impeded from doing its job!!

“The dems have the “dumbest, rudest kid on the block for their candidate so now, they pick on someone they are totally jealous of -Sarah Palin.”
Think you mixed up your candidates: it was McCainiac who was fifth lowest of his graduating class; and Sarah who apparently had to go to six different colleges to finally get her degree.
I think it’s your side, Ann, who is jealous because Obama was head of Harvard’s Law Review and a professor to boot. So please reserve “dumb and rude” for your candidates, not the Democrats.

Why would anyone be jealous of a woman who couldn’t intelligently answer basic questions during the interview with? Why would anyone be jealous of a woman who went to 5 different colleges before finally finishing? Why would anyone be jealous of a woman who can not string two coherent sentences together? Hmmm, think about it Ann. THINK about it. Use your brain for once, really.

God forbid McCain wins. He will not win, but just for argument sake, if by crooks and fruad he wins, he will likely spend more time in the hospital than in the whitehouse. Going by McCain’s age and cancer problems, he will likely die in office. This will leave poor Sara Palin alone in the office with the neocons launching unending wars against, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Syria, Iran, N.Korea, Somalia, Sudan, Libya, Venezuela, Bolivia, Argentina, Mexico, Ecuedor, Nicargua, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Kenya, Colombia, China, Belarus and Russia with impunity. Afterall Palin said it was God’s will to invade Iraq and she threatened attacking Russia from her first interview.

As a lifelong Democrat, I have to admit that Sarah Palin has an impressive and compelling story of personal achievement, similar to that of Senator Obama’s. Both are pretty inexperienced and their running mates are both very experienced, so it’s a tough decision.
At the end of the day, I’ll be voting for McCain-Palin because they have more to offer the country then Obama-Biden.

Here are three questions I would like to see Palin have to answer (what are yours?):
1. Do you believe people lived at the same time as dinosaurs, and if so, should Americans be concerned about having a vice-president whose views aren’t consistent with scientific evidence?
2. John McCain is a 72 year old cancer survivor, and insurance company statistics put his odds of surviving four years in office at approximately 65%. Do you think McCain’s age and health are legitimate subjects for people to consider before casting their vote?
3. Freedom of choice guarantees American women the right to terminate a pregnancy, but it also guarantees them the right to carry a desired pregnancy to term. You chose to bear a child that many women would not have. Would you have preferred not to have had that choice – to have been obligated by law to have that child instead of being free to make that decision for yourself?

I am amazed that Republicans can create their own reality by just saying what’s not true over and over again until it somehow becomes true. Or they take something that they are bad at and just say the other guy is bad at that. It’s worse than the traditional ” I know you are but what am I ” school yard taunt.
But it seems to work with some people.
I live in New York, so it’s rare to actually interact with Republicans, for me, but I’m waiting for the opportunity to lay into anybody who actually tries to tell me that McCain Plain would be better than Obama/Biden. It’s impossible. They are AWFUL, in almost every way.
I think Republicans just want to win, it’s a football mentality. They just want to be right, they can’t stand to be wrong. And anyone that says, ” Well, I don’t like either party, so I just might not vote..” is an idiot.
We HAVE TO VOTE FOR OBAMA BEFORE IT”S TOO LATE. This is no joke, people. I hope every Republican on this board reads this post and remembers it if their ticket wins and in 2 years the US is unrecognizable.
I won’t lie and say Obama is the best candidate ever and he will fix everything. I’m just saying McCain Palin will ruin the country, ESPECIALLY if something happens to McCain. Palin is an idiot, a mean spirited one at that, and she will screw it up for all of us, MARK MY WORDS.
Republicans, vote for Obama now, because when MCain destroys the country and possibly the world, you won’t get to say ” I told you so.” You might not even be around to be able to say anything.

This country is going to hell in a handbag because of him and the Iraq war!! He can`t even speak good, and many countries have a very bad opinion of us now. McCain is Bush and that`s the truth. I voted for Bush`s father, and I am a Democrat, but this regime has got to end this November. McCain is too old, and if something happens to him, Sara Palin would be president and then I would move to Canada for sure. God help us all. She is just not qualified for the job, and that`s it. For all the women who are voting for McCain — he just set women’s right back 20 years. Instead of picking someone intelligent — he picked a “hick” that his team could manipulate. As Rush said “with Sarah, we have the babies, gun and a babe”. What could be more insulting to women then that statement. McCain is from the old boys’ club that no respect for women. Besides, he is on medication. Look how flat his expression is; there’s nothing there, he shows no emotion. This guy is really a medical emergency waiting to happen.

I have a husband who is about to lose his job. Come Oct 1 I will be carring the family insurance etc with my job.We need something in this country that McCain and Palin cannot provide. Help and hope. She isn’t a big fan of doing interviews and the one’s that she did manage to participate in weren’t really much to give her a gold medal for anyway. I’d prefer someone who has more to offer on foreign policy other than the notion that they can see Russia from their house. I know that the Bush Doctrine isn’t something that a lot of people know about but when you are running for VICE PRESIDENT you’d think she would at the least have had a clue.

I think the bigger issue that MUST be brought to light is the fact that the bastards on the left rejected an opportunity to control the secondary subprime market more than 3 years ago when Republicans first proposed S.190.
Instead the pack of thieves with “D’s” behind their names stuffed their pockets full of “campaign contributions” from the Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae fan club. Dodd along took $165,000.

Research results founded by your own efforts will ring more true to you than any suggestion I could make. I have no reason to make false accusations towards anyone. I try to say only what I have found to be true. I try to base my decisions on my own research not what the media tells me or what I hear in a campaign speech. The safest thing to do is to learn by your own research. Then make a decision. Its good to do research on all candidates, democrats and Repulicans alike. All voters should not be persuaded by trivial information reported by all forms of the media. READ IT FOR YOURSELF. Pick that spoon up for yourself and feed yourself the facts.

Going political means you have to take sides, which I seldom do. I need to give my opinion on Governor Palin however, because she deserves more credit that what others have given her. She does not need to be expert on everything. I like her because she has this unique spirit of wanting to do the right thing, irrespective of what other people say. In today’s political landscape, that is unique. MCCAIN and
PALIN are rare breed of politician, they don’t need to be loyal to their party, they are loyal to American people and that’s what we need right now. I have nothing against OBAMA, but in this campaign, it is very obvious he is being dictated by his party and he follows because he wants to win. I am worried once he wins that he would owe a lot of favors from his party, he will forget about the people who matter most.

Robert Campbell says that the Senator from Countrywide Mortgage, who got a sweetheart mortgage from the CountryWide Chairman, got the most money from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. But Fauxbama was the second pig snout in the political contribution trough.
Senator Obama got more money from Fannie/Freddie in his little time in the US Senate, than most politicians received over the last ten years.
Fauxbama’s head of his VP selection team was a former executive with Fannie, and according to the Washington POst, Franklin Raines who presided over the cooking of the Fannie books while the Chairman of Fannie advises fauxbama on the economy.

To excuse Palin’s recent performances by invoking Biden’s gaffes misses the point entirely. If only Palin’s troubles were claiming that Roosevelt went on TV to address the Great Depression. We could have a SNL skit and be done with it. If Palin’s problem were only a lack of experience. The deeper issue, most unfortunately, is more profound than that. It is the obvious fact that she simply cannot intellectually frame her positions on current issues. She is either terribly nervous and simply cannot enunciate her position. But, I find this difficult to believe given her great performance at the RNC (but, who knows? sans a teleprompter…). More likely, however, it is impossible to learn one’s position on a full range of issues by simply cramming. If it were multiple choice, perhaps one could pull it off. Unfortunately, this is an essay test (or the oral equivalent, in front of millions to boot). And, one needs to frame together his/her ideas and respond. Random sentences and phrases cannot simply be spewed out in incoherent order. The only way to perform well in a debate is to know what you believe in and then express them! The problem is she doesn’t know what she believes, either because she has not thought about these issues (likely) or the set of positions that are being laid out for her make no coherent sense (equally likely). Would it be a surprise that there is no unifying set of ideas that the McCain campaign is trying to coach into Palin? No rubric. No structure. Just a random set of facts about which there is some detailed, arcane and internally inconsistent position. It’s hard for a student to learn if on day (1) Economy is fundamentally strong, then day (2) we’ve got the deepest economic crisis since the Great Depression. On Day (1), regulation is bad. On Day (2), we’ve got to fire the regulator and draw up new tighter restrictions. Can you imagine being a student? Sure, we can. We’re the voters that have had to digest this erratic non-sense. It’s all a blur. Palin’s responses during an interview are merely a reflection of McCain’s campaign. They’ve taken a candidate who (according to their own words) is quick on the uptake, and reduced her to a bunch of gibberish. She’s just got the worst trainers. Time to transfer?

Other than left wing bloggers at the dailychaos, the DUmp, or the puffingtons, are there any bigger irrational, racist nutball than Ray? Ray’s hero said in his book “Dreams of my Father,” that “white folks greed runs a world in need.”
Obama is just as big a racist as his spiiritual mentor and pastor, J.Wright and the mentally challenged Ray posting on this thread.

Smug,
People don’t like Palin because she is incredibly cocky and yet, so far, has only proven to be dangerously unknowledable.
Let’s face it, governor of Alaska is not even as involved as mayor of Indianapolis – which has more people than the whole state and doesn’t get to fall back on tremendous oil profits.
Palin TALKS conservative, but hasn’t walked the walk. Which governor had more earmarks per capita than every other governor in the US?
HINT: It rhymes with Nailin.

Palin couldn’t even answer a “nice” question from Katie Couric. Biden will cream here. MAKE HER CRY LIKE A BABY!!! Look below:
COURIC: Why isn’t it better, Governor Palin, to spend $700 billion helping middle-class families who are struggling with health care, housing, gas and groceries; allow them to spend more and put more money into the economy instead of helping these big financial institutions that played a role in creating this mess?
PALIN: That’s why I say I, like every American I’m speaking with, were ill about this position that we have been put in where it is the taxpayers looking to bail out. But ultimately, what the bailout does is help those who are concerned about the health-care reform that is needed to help shore up our economy, helping the—it’s got to be all about job creation, too, shoring up our economy and putting it back on the right track. So health-care reform and reducing taxes and reining in spending has got to accompany tax reductions and tax relief for Americans. And trade, we’ve got to see trade as opportunity, not as a competitive, scary thing. But one in five jobs being created in the trade sector today, we’ve got to look at that as more opportunity. All those things under the umbrella of job creation. This bailout is a part of that.

Don’t let the media get away with this again.
Obama is a snake who can sell ocean front property in Arizona.. don’t buy into his lies. In these times of crisis and financial meltdown, the United States of America needs a real man for President, not a teleprompt reader.

She has been on the campaign trail for 1 month. Everyone else has been campaigning for 19 months (longer for Joe Biden/off and on). It’s funny how everyone can be so forgiving of Joe’s gaffes, and Obama’s stuttering/rambling answers. Give her a chance to get the information she needs and process it.
If the shoe was on the other foot, she would probably put everyone away when it comes to her knowledge/information on the state that she lives in and has governed for the past 2 years, which is an important part of this republic;vast resources, diverse population, geographic location (close to Russia, therefore first line of defense), and don’t think she doesn’t know what the defense plans are, because she does have that knowledge and she does have executive experience. She can learn everything else she needs to know as she goes, which is exactly what Obama has been doing; on the job training as he goes, meeting foreign leaders as he goes, and learning domestic and foreign policy as he goes. He has just had a huge headstart, and she has only had a month. I don’t think any of you people who are bashing her, could hold up to the criticism that you shower on her, and glaringly hold back for your own players.
Bash me! Trash me! I don’t care!

Why?
Her fans see her with rose-colored glasses- she can scream, shout, faint, leave the room or just plain talk– the latter move will be seen as brilliant; the other moves will be someone else’s fault.
Biden, on the other hand, is the experience guy (read ‘elder’).. so he has to be 50 paces behind her. Biden already lost this one.. folks.

jennylynn. I apologize to no one. Remember the old saying, “If the shoe fits, wear it”. Only you Know that. The liberals have had hold of congress for a year and a half now and all they have done is complain about the Bush admin. instead of presenting some viable alternatives to this lousy state of affairs we find our selves in. They have no leadership values at all. You say that you don’t want your children going to the middle east and I agree with that. But when you have a fool like Harry Reid saying the war is lost with men in the field, (which I was) I consider this a treasonus act. Those kind of remarks give aid and compfort to the enemy. Hope and change are wonderful words but thats all they are, words. By electing Barrak Hussein Obama you get the fire instead of the frying pan. Like it or not he is a Muslim sympathizer and we will pay the price if he is elected. Believe me I understand your plight, I’ve been there several times in my life. But ask your self, with all the people in the Dem party the best they can afford us is a community organizer with a radical past, I’ll tell you why, quoting Harry Reid, (“WE DON’T KNOW WHAT TO DO”) Thats your leadership jennylynn. You should be concerned for your family as I am but be very careful what you wish for.

Wow. The Obamamaniacs are out in force. Could you not at least have waited until halloween. Why does the major media always love to portray the leftists as the greatest intellects among us. If I hear Barney Frank described as one of the greatest intellects in Washington one more time, I will lose my Reagan jelly beans. The poor Clinton’s, they had no clue that they were about to get sent packing by a leftist who could look straight into a camera and lie with even more sincerity than they could.
The obvious reason that the leftists and their media cronies hate Sarah Palin so much is that she is their worst nightmare. A woman who opposes their most coveted agenda items: abortion of the innocent and the radical gay agenda.
Mrs. Palin is very smart and very tough. Joe Biden should be shaking in his wingtips.

It is very obvious that Mccain did make mistake picking wrong VP who he believes can make so many mistakes and showing herself who she is by saying funny things if being questioned by medias, for his career. Not country first. That is why Mccain keeps her out of medias and reporters. Mccain has rights to prevent what he spends and invests for his pesidential campaigns. His racist rant was similar to little Rays. Many of zerobamas supporters are david dukes in blackface. If zerobamas preacher the wrong reverend wright had his way he’d put all the whites in cattle cars and send them to death camps. Yet these white liberals imbued in their white guilt will vote for the very people that will kill them and their families.

Sarah Palin has more executive experience than does zerobama. Biden has experience but if the truth be told he is wrong on just about everything. Biden opposed Ronald Reagans defense buildup, Biden opposed Ronald Reagans Strategic Defense Initiative deriding it as Star Wars. Thank God that Biden and his ilk were defeated otherwise we would be defenseless before the dear leaders nuclear arsenal and the mad ayattolahs missle technology. Biden also opposed the first Gulf war and he recently voted against the successful surge. America doesn’t need that kind of faulty judgement no matter how much experience Biden has. He has the experience of someone with flawed judgement. And if you like Bidens judgement, you’re going to love the little corrupt chicago poll with his racist associations.

Okay. Let me get this straight.
The fact that Sarah is considered to be some pacifying substitute for Hillary is like comparing water to chocolate. I’m insulted as a woman that she supposedly represents our sex. She’s a past-prime Harper Valley prom queen with the ability to be manipulated by McCain because she lacks the intelligence to question reason. Other than that, I considered her a waste of my time. But today, I heard a comment from Sarah Palin about Biden’s age. Come on! Is she that much of a dumb ass? What kind of air is she breathing? She said that she remembered his speech when she was in the second grade. Hell, did she see McCain in the textbook when she studied neanderthals? What about dinosaurs?
She must be off her rocker. Maybe it’s the mercury in the salmon up there in her foreign country surrounded state. Speaking of foreign country, since when did American’s really view neighborly Canada as a foreign country? Or rather, when did lil’ ol’ Alaska start handling trade agreements with Dmitry Medvedev? Must be the chemicals in that lipstick. Either way, McCain would have been better of with Paris, at least she knows the extent of her abilities.

We are anxious to hear her speak and be herself. I hope she is revved up enough to stand Biden on his ear. Hilary can’t touch Palin in her charisma. Hilary is so evilish and sharp tongued am so glad she is off the ticket. I think Bill will be voting Repub this year!
Given all the rhetoric from the Democrats on this bill failure blaming Republicans needs to come back and slap them in the face. They have had the majority of the house for 2 years yet they blame Republicans for not being able to pass the bill… all they needed was 10 votes from their side. Typical Democrat not taking responsibility for their own actions. Not even the 5 of the National Committee Democratic Chairmen voted for it: Homeland, Agriculture, Ethics, Judiciary, Vetrans — what does this say about the Democratic party?
What about Polosi’s closest friends and allies voting no??? Sanchez Sisters – CA, Lynn Woolsey, Barbara Lee
Are you all living in Disneyland? Can’t anyone see the Democrats are using our own economy crisis to get a president elected? They are our worst enemy and must be stopped. We CANNOT afford more spending or the raising of taxes that Obama will do. I’m looking for an electrified and passionate response from Palin & McCain…. it needs to be heard!

If Hillary would have known that Chelsea was afflicted with down’s syndrome, she would have probably had an abortion. Web Hubbel would have probably breathed a sigh of relief because Chelsea looks just like him, even down to the same lips. After reading every blog on here (beginning to end) am surprised and amused by many of the contributors. I had thought of voting for McCain even though I do like Sen Obama as well, but after listening and watching Sarah on the recent interviews I have to take a second look at her lack of qualifications. She could not coherently answer any question without stringing together sentences with no content. She is clearly in over her head and all the cramming by McCain’s advisors will not be able to help her on Thursday. When you talk about your taxes going up if Obama wins, you must make more than 250K a year, they will be getting the tax hike, not middle America who has supported this country for the last 8 years under the Bush administration.
I think my vote just went to Barack (who by the way is no Muslim than John Mcain is…) way too scary to think people make statements like that!

Why is the newsmedium not “mocking” Obama for trying to project “foreign policy experience” by virtue of giving a speech in Germany?
The American people are going to see past this lopsided media treatment and coverage, designed to put their multiculturalist poster child in the White House.
And speaking of Obama changing things, like the Presidential seal, do you suppose he plans to repaint the President’s home ebony, and call it the Black House?

That is the most pathetic excuse for experience since, uh, uh, uh, uh, you libs said a Governor or mayor has none. Tell me something? How long do you have to be a Mayor or Governor to have executive experience? Try the first day in office you idiot! Which Obama has none, and a committee doesn’t mean crap unless you actually do something, which he hasn’t. You and you’re buddy obama are a joke.

There is no such thing as “foreign policy experience.” That the media
talks as if there is, simply shows the
degree to which liberalism has
corrupted the English language.
We could legitimately speak
of “negotiating experience”,
because “negotiate” is a verb – something one DOES. On the other hand “policy” is a noun, and you don’t DO nouns. And in order to gain EXPERIENCE in something, you have to be able to DO that something. You cannot gain experience in anything that does not involve DOING something. One can have KNOWLEDGE of policy – historical knowledge, or knowledge of the current policies of a particular administration. But it makes no sense to talk about “policy experience”, foreign or otherwise.
As the brilliant black economist Thomas Sowell has pointed out, the only people who could acquire negotiating experience are the President and the Secretary of State. A senator or governor visiting foreign countries, or giving speeches in foreign countries, or meeting with the heads of foreign countries, does not give that person any negotiating experience whatsoever. He or she has no authority to negotiate.
Politicians like Obama, who take these kind of junkets at taxpayer expense, are doing so simply for show, trying to build up phoney foreign
policy “experience” “credentials that will help to convince a dumbed down electorate that they are “seasoned” and thus “qualified” for more lucrative governmental positions.

It is only natural that a Senator would have more knowledge of foreign affairs and world geography than a Governor would. U.S. Senator is a FEDERAL office, while Governor is a STATE office. Do State legislatures even have “foreign affairs committees”? Of course not.
The VP debate damn well better not turn out to be an irrelevant contest to see who knows the most about OTHER countries. Hell, there shouldn’t even BE a Vice Presidential debate, or for that matter, a Presidential one! There weren’t such media circuses in the past when we had some great Presidents.
Being a glib debater isn’t what I look for in a great leader. I look through those kind of superficial “qualities” and try to focus on a person’s CHARACTER. Basically, I would choose a gramatically challenged person of integrity and sound moral principles, over a slick talking charlatan any day. And on those terms McCain/Palin wins hands down over Obama/Biden.

palin (pā-lin) verb. 1.To prove so deficient as to be totally ineffective. 2.To be unsuccessful. 3.To disappoint or prove undependable.
synonym – see danquayle
usage – “I thought I had only danquayled the exam but infact it was far worse – I palined it!”

Richard wrote: “There is no such thing as “foreign policy experience.” That the media talks as if there is,”
I liked your post, but I would have to disagree. Foreign policy experience would relate to experience in the setting of policies related to how we interact with foreign nations, understanding those nations, and what would be best for the benefit of both. Granted, going around to what can at best be considered social events with foreign leaders is a stretch.
To that extent, Biden pretty much has more experience than anyone else in Congress. Obama, while perhaps not as much, did study international relations in college, is on the senate foreign relations committee and been involved in the policy making decisions, and in addition sits on several International subcommittees, and subcommittees on European, East Asian, Pacific and African affairs, as well as the Senate committees for Homeland Security and Governmental affairs. McCain on the other hand has primarily been involved with armed services, Indian affairs and other domestic issues. Palin is not even in the race when you consider federal policy decision making.
When considering the candidates, I would say the only one who has no real understanding of the international community or federal policy making would be Palin. Not a slam, just the facts.

Hey Liberal Guys,
Sarah actually has run a state government. And a mayor of a very small city. She actually did more than Obama did in his 140 days as a community organizer. Her approval rating in the State of Alaska is 80%. Name anyone whom has done this. One last thing tell your Obama not to speak on my behalf.
I was proud of my country when I first found out what we and the world did to beat the Nazis. Remember the holocast.
I do not need obama to run around the world to speak on my behalf on how perfect we are not as as Country. I can name many countries who are not perfect in unification. Sorry one last thing, do you think the liberal media could just once ask why obama says this admin failed its economic policies in the las t eight years. Could you ask how his buddies ran fannie mae and freddie mack and made millions from sub prime loans and the downfall of these these two enterprises. Now they are obamas economic advisors. I would not mind voting for someone lets be fair everyone is the blame in this mess, dont lie to me.

As I read Article I Section 8 on the powers of Congress, I do not see anything that envisions the setting of policies towards foreign countries beyond the peaceful regulation of commerce and making provisions for a DEFENSIVE military posture and actions.
In other words there is an implied limitation of policy setting involving foreign countries, such that it is only appropriate to even address such policies if it is necessary to do so because their is aome DIRECT threat to the DOMESTIC welfare.
Unfortunately the Legislature goes well beyond what the founders intended, when it attempts to set policies solely concerned with providing for the welfare of OTHER countries – promoting “democracy”, alleviating third world disease, hunger, etc., intervening in civil wars or other internal affairs, or getting involved in conflicts between other nations – all of which actually detract from the general domestic welfare.

Jim said: ” And a mayor of a very small city. She actually did more than Obama did in his 140 days as a community organizer.”
Let’s not forget that McCain has no experience running a tiny city or state either.
and I guess you have been running around the globe speaking on your behalf?
As for the economy thing.. that’s kind of obvious.. Dubba took a balanced budget and federal surplus, implemented reganomics and skyrocketed debt. It don’t take a math major to know that you can’t cut spending then turn around and perform the second largest government reorg since WWII, start an umprovoked war and cater to big oil without driving the country into the ground.

Ray– Obama had a black father and a white mother. The reason he is black is because GOD made the dark colors the DOMINANT gene. He is more culturally white than he is black. What ever happened to that line in our constitution that “all men are created equal”. What makes us different is what we do with our God given abilities and Obama has built himself into a man that I, as a white man, will be proud to call my president. I’m sure you will still have problems seeing through the darkness of Obama’s skin but God is a forgiving God even for racists.

AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST,
I’d like to remind you to keep praying for the prompt and safe return of GOvernor Sarah Palin.
We have reason to believe she is still alive, albeit enduring hardships that have left her with a strong disassociation between her brain and her mouth. A clear sign of mental abuse and physical deprivation (or is it the opposite? huh.. )
The reason we have is that we have been able to decode recent activities and have found that IF YOU LISTEN CAREFULLY, you can hear her screaming in the background:
TERRORIST BLONDE SHORT MAN DISGUISED AS FEMALE: “Why isn’t it better, Gov. Palin, to spend $700 billion helping middle-class families who are struggling?”
(hold on to something… this might be BUMPY!)
That’s why I say I, like every American I’m speaking with, we’re ill about this position that we have been put in where it is the taxpayers looking to bail out
AND JUMP
But ultimately, what the bailout does is help those who are concerned about the health-care reform
AND JUMP!
that is needed to help shore up our economy, helping the…
AAAND JUMP INTO A QUICK PARENTHESIS!
it’s got to be all about job creation, too
AND JUMP BACK!
shoring up our economy and putting it back on the right track
AAAND LETS TAKE IT FROM THE TOP!
So health-care reform and reducing taxes and reining in spending has got to accompany tax reductions and tax relief for Americans
AAAND JUMP! BRING IT IN SARAH!
And trade, we’ve got to see trade as opportunity, not as a competitive, scary thing
AAAAND TRY TO GLUE IT ALL IN:
But one in five jobs being created in the trade sector today, we’ve got to look at that as more opportunity
AAAND NOW QUOTE FAMOUS LINE FROM RESIDENT EVIL:
All those things under the umbrella of job creation. This bailout is a part of that.
two words:
actuarial odds

Senator Obama is a creation of the crooked, corrupt Dailey machine that has turned Chicago and Cook County into a political sewer. If you vote for somebody that you know is corrupt, it makes you corrupt on the inside. Liberals like to talk about good government, but that is just hot air, like an Obama speech, just words, and devoid of any meaning.
Liberals are only interested in power, so the ends justify the means. They will only be happy when they bring America the progressive fascism that Woodrow Wilson bequeathed to America. The real bookburners and intolerant fascists are the politically correct crowd that stiffles free speech, especially in academia.
They believe in diversity, but not a diversity of ideas.

I listened to his speech in Germany, and he is Bush Sr.’s New Word Order on steroids.

WOULD YOU be so kind as to leave the “canned answers” aside and give us a direct response to these issues?
I will ignore the attempt at an insult, I am not gay, and if you called me gay I would not be insulted.

Giggli,
Why do you insist on showing your hateful intolerance on this thread?
Making fun of people with mental handicaps by calling them “retarded” is not very liberal. You have all the people skills of a ferret, and it shows in your reasoning and debating skills.
You should be ashamed of yourself, however as a follower of Obama, your shame meter is probably at zero.

Giggli,
I suppose being a “good” Catholic girl you oppose partial birth abortion?
Right Giggli? How do you stand on that hideous barbaric practice that you humane liberals have supported over the years?
Should a baby born during the course of an abortion be allowed to live, or should it be discarded in the trash?
Senator Obama doesn’t think so, and I was wondering what a good Catholic girl like you Giggli thinks about that?

Betty,
some Christian you are.
I will treat you with the respect that I was taught. I don’t suppose I can ask the same of you.
Abortion is against my religion. the end. I do not vote for or against abortion; I vote on economic and social and structural issues. On Foreign Affairs, not personal affairs.
I suppose you believe in fighting to uphold one’s religious beliefs and impose them upon others. Sort of like, the Jihad? doesn’t that make you a terrorist?
Isn’t that what “them terrorist” do? impose their beliefs unto others?
How are you different??? because OURS is the ONE TRUE GOD? and the ONE TRUE DOCTRINE?
funny how things go in full circle sometimes.

You dodged the question I asked giggly.
Do you support partial birth abortion? Yes or no?

Betty,
thank you for bringin up attention to the point, this person blames 95 “dimocrat” negative votes and not 135 REPUBLICAN who voted against.
Ignoring that almost three times more Democrats voted in favor (than republicans)
I apologize once more, but if the insult comes from him for thinking we would swallow such nonsense.

I don’t believe in abortion. However I don’t decide political favouritism based on my religious beliefs.
I don’t believe I have ever answer bullyish “yes or no” questions my entire life, not even in High School.
Your Christianity surely is exposed here, I reckon you are nothing but a liberal disguised trying to make republicans look bad. to each his own.
Now would you have the decency to answer my question about Governor Palin’s ability or lack thereof to answer Katie Couric?
I don’t see how my stand on abortion can be as important as Sarah Palin.
Posted by: GIGI | September 30, 2008, 11:32 am 11:32 am
You have no clue… do you?
MOVING ALONG, I find it dishearting that evidently (thanks to un-aired portions of Sarah Palin’s interview with KC) She has never even heard of any Supreme Court case (other than Roe V Wade)
I think it is of utmost importance that CBS RELEASE those un-aired portions INMEDIATELY and that the McCain Campaign answers these questions head on. We are no longer talking about pregnant teens or family affairs!
THIS we need to know!

While I appreciate most of the comments, it does generally frighten me that this is what the American educational system is doing to the most politically aware among us.
Most of the Chinese professionals I work with have better grammatical and written skills better than this. What some of them lack in creativity and confidence they make up for in accuracy and incisiveness.

Betty: Your talking to an eletist liberal and your obviously wasting your time. GIGI has obviously been brainwashed some were over the rainbow and has’nt returned yet. And GIGI, stop with the Roman Catholic thing. You’re either a Christian or you’re not. I have read no where in any Catholic Dogma were accepting the act of murdering a child is justified. As a believer you should be supporting your belief’s at least for the sake of your soul. So Betty just let GIGI and her friend Deeva wollow in their own self righteousness and believe what they want. Last point: GIGI has chosen to follow a ticket that has at it’s head a leader who chooses to let a born child die alone in a closet, what a guy.

bombern
I was hoping that deeva and giggly would use their heads for something other than holding their hair in place, but alas, it was not to be.
I have been at a loss trying to understand how according to giggly and deeva, electing a woman to the VicePresidency is not a mortal blow against the glass ceiling. Thanks for reminding me that these two are elitist liberals living in their own parallel universe or alternative reality. They are so divorced from reality, that they make the JimJones kool-aid drinkers seem sensible by comparison.

Palin was tapped to be the VP choice for 1 reason….because she has a Vagina. Being that I am a strong Hillary supporter, I find it very offensive that McShame would think that all it takes to get my vote is a Vagina. I was voting for Hillary because of the content of her Charecter not the content of her Panties. Because of the blatent disregard for my female vote I will vote for…
OBAMA/BIDEN

Ewwwww, mean and evil we democrats are.
You are describing your buddy McCain. He is so BUSH. (inside and out) He can’t even put a democratic sentence of his own together.
Every time Obama comes up with a suggestion, plan or a simple comment McCain comes up with the exact same thing and screams it’s his brainy Idea.
McCain is suffering. McCain is running around like a chicken with his head cut off.
What now? I see he’s on “Plan of action” # 256.” He’s gonna TRY being calm and play Presidential.
TOO LATE McCain. We all “look into your eyes” and see P-H-O-N-Y.
Your time is up McBRAIN, take your barbie doll and run, RUN with the wind…..LOL

Given the low intellectual quality of diana’s post, I can only conclude that giggly, deeva, and diana, are one in the same person, and a braindead elitist liberal at that.
bombern, you are right again, my friend. It is a naive fool who looks for reason, logic, and a modicum of intelligence sans paranoia, in the chambers of the liberal/leftist brain.

trh2008: What do you expect from a society that lowers it’s educational standards to accommodate a mix of social misfits. Just look at these future scholars on the way to school in the morning at the lower levels with their pants hanging down two feet below their ass. They can tell a teacher to go screw them selves in a class room with impunity and get away with it. You have teachers who strike up sexual relationships with their students and the punishment if any is a transfer. The American greatness is dying simply due to unfeathered liberalism, period.

Sen. Biden is a longtime resident of Delaware. His prediction regarding Delaware versus Ohio had more to do with loyalty and standing up for his home team, a concept that apparently escapes the sharp-tongued Gov. Palin.

Oh I can see we have some mental giants here. Personal attacks substituted for reasoned argument.
This whole Palin thing sounds like the first ten minutes of “City Confidential”.
I hope the debate comes off like the second ten minutes of the show. Where it all unravels.

Senator Obama was here a few weeks back and claimed he was a Nittally Lion fan.
And after visiting our state he also claimed that he had now visited all 57 states. I think he got mixed up. There are 57 Islamic states so one could see how he could become confused.

She handed all Alaskans $1200.oo This year for energy assistance, what did the people in Illinois get.? My cousin lives up there with a family of five. I would say that was very nice of.I ack him about her love at 80% is what he said.

I can’t stop laughing … The world can’t stop laughing. Palin is ready to rock and and roll … Oh yea … Can’t wait to see this ..
Got my chair all set up in front of the TV with a big box of Kleenex to wipe my eyes … Gut wrenching …
If Palin gets elected (based on her performance), y’all will get what you deserve. Remember the Daily Mirror on the DUBYA re-election, “How can 59,054,087 people be so DUMB”.
Glad I don’t live in the USA.

The Palin bashers just get more and more gross. I guess jealousy can do that to a person. Can’t believe how they call her dumb and mean. Seems like she has sure accomplished a lot in her 44 years, unlike so many of the envious bashers in the media and in the “ass” party….that’s a donkey for you dems. Most of the bashers are either of the feminist persuasion or men who must be afraid of intelligent women. Get over it and I’m sorry to you feminists, she can’t help it if she was born with more looks and brains then you were, get a life. Sarah has a life thank you, a very good one I might add…..an accomplished lady with a nice family who apparently just considers the source of all this uncouth blustering and name calling by a bunch of losers and ignores it. If it wouldn’t ruin this country I would wish Obama and his cohorts on all you garbage mouthed, hands out, followers of the socialist persuasion, you deserve them. Bet all of you that are knocking Sarah are followers of those two idiots on MSNBC, you know who I am talking about, and love the comedy of that sad excuse for a woman, you know the comedian from NY who has those friends she wants to sic on Sarah, guess she can’t get them interested in her…….but then I don’t blame them for the lack of interest in such a “dog”.

Dittos from flyover country…..we too are glad you’re
not here.
BTW sKerry(he got 3 Purple Hearts in 4 months and never visited a hospital) got the 59 million votes. So we can agree to agree, how could 59 million people be so dumb?

Posted by: bombem | September 30, 2008, 5:46 pm 5:46 pm
I was thinking a cave in the Paki tribal areas, but he seems far to wimpy for that; so I’ll say he is probably eurotrash metrosexual from a Scandinavian country.
Posted by: Obama Bin Biden | September 30, 2008, 6:01 pm 6:01 pm
hmmm, yea possibly Sweden? I kinda thought wimpy also.
Posted by: bombem | September 30, 2008, 6:14 pm 6:14 pm
He may be one of those limpwristed swedes that believes that the USA is to mean to the terrorists. He thinks that if sKerry had just been elected, he and the rest of the socialist oneworlders could have sat around a campfire and sang kumbaya with binladen zawahiri mullah omar and zarqawi. But for Paul and the other mindless zombies, it’s all Bush’s fault.
