Palin Speaks to Reporters for First Time at Ground Zero
ABC’s Imtiyaz Delawala reports: Gov. Sarah Palin made an unscheduled stop at Ground Zero in lower Manhattan today, and for the first time since she joined the Republican ticket in August, she took questions from the reporters traveling with her.
Palin endorsed the handling of the war on terror by the Bush Administration. "I agree with the Bush administration that we take the fight to them, we never again let them come onto our soil and try to destroy not only our democracy but communities like, the community of New York, never again. So, yes I do agree with taking the fight to the terrorists and stopping them over there," Palin said.
She added: "I think our presence in Iraq and Afghanistan will lead to further security over our nation again because the mission is to keep the fight over there, do not let them come over here and attempt again what they accomplished here and that was some destruction, terrible destruction on that day. But, since September 11th, Americans uniting and rebuilding and committing to never letting that happen again."
Speaking to today’s negotiations over the $700 billion bailout bill, she said she didn’t think the legislation should be passed until Sen. John McCain’s provisions are included. "I don’t support that until the provisions that Sen. McCain has offered are implemented in that, in Paulson’s proposal," she said.
Palin stopped in at the Tribute to World Trader Center Visitor Center on Liberty Street, adjacent to Ground Zero. Palin got a tour from the curator of the gallery and a firefighter named John Morabito who survived the collapse of one of the towers.
Regarding Ground Zero, Palin said, "I wish every American would come through here, I wish every world leader would come through here and understand what it is that took place here and more importantly how America came together united to commit to never allowing this to happen again."
Palin proceeded to the family viewing area overlooking Ground Zero. Reporters were not allowed to accompany her to that point.
While she was apart from reporters, some of the members press chatted with Morabito, the firefighter. He said he told Palin about some of his colleagues who died there.
He said Palin was "sincere, friendly. Actually a decent person."
He said "she seems to be up to date on the events surrounding 9/11."

So the media complains and complains about Palin not giving them access and now she does and this is not as headline news as it is here in other places. Also, guaranteed some Democratic operative will complain that she did this at the WTC site even though she did not allow the press to be with her at certain points.

How much Bank scandel actually follows McCain? Well, He was investigated and largely exonerated in a political influence scandal of the 1980s as a member of the ‘Keating Five’. His connection to Rick Davis, who imbezzeled money from Fannie Mae, as early as last Month. And was one of his sons, who was a bank auditor, mysteriously left his job , two months before going bankrupt.
I have a question, about any other organizations, he may be a part of.
Americans may be curious to know which one. I suggest transparency be implemented. At least that is McCains platform. It still is, Right?
And guess what, about Todd Palin?
:)
Of course, Sarah could not join. But she could speak at a group meeting. She’s a Female. Only Men join this group. Women join the OTHER ONE. :)

Charlie Gibson dry humps Barack Obama’s leg when interviewing him, then turns into a condescending, dishonest jerk when interviewing Sarah Palin.
I have greater respect for Palin that she didn’t punch Gibson’s teeth in. Showed far greater Presidential demeanor than the smarmy Obama giving the finger to Hillary or calling Palin a pig .. then running scared afterward insisting he didn’t. What a worm.

No, at the President’s request he is meeting at the Whitehouse.
McCain and Obama have had little part in doing the work on this bill – it’s not in their area of expertise or committees. But McCain thundered in for photo-ops (and to duck a debate if he’s lucky), while Obama waited until his advice and presence was actually needed and requested by the President.

That is the problem – they have been standing in their blown up streets, where their family members died, watched their loved ones suffer. They have not just watched it once – but they have watched it many many times – for decades on end.

“Yeah! BTW – Which state are you the Governor of?”
I am not a governor of any state, just a normal citizen that holds a PHD specializing on international terrorism. I am not in any way qualified to be a VP or perhaps a President of the US. I do not think that this woman is prepared to take on this responsibility. I do not think it has anything to do with her education (Bush went to Yale and he is an idiot and I know people that have not even gone to college and are brilliant). Using research and common sense I see that bombing things do not address this issue and I seriously worry about a person that clearly has never really thought (or studied) this in detail and that will have access to nuclear weapons. Do I think it is great that she is a woman that went from PTA to Governor and took on the “good old boys”, yes! Do I think that she has shown that despite her extreme personal views she can govern from the center based on her record in Alaska? yes! Do I think this is the best person to be VP of the (still) most powerful country in the world given the economic crisis and global security situation? NO.

Please wake up and vote the democratic ticket this time around – at least they’re making sense and have been consistent (mostly). This is all coming from an independent voter, so I’m urging you to please get behind the Dem ticket this time around. This woman clearly doesn’t have any credentials.

“Do you feel that Obama is ready to lead?”
I do not need to answer this carefully since I am an independent voter and I see good things and bad things from both parties. I disagree with McCain on his Realist view of the world (in terms of international studies–that military force is the way to lead) but I admire that he thinks for himself (although he frankly lost me with the Palin pick. I was disappointed since there are many other women Republican that I find more qualified right now, even if again, I disagree with them in many issues).
I try to use rationality and common sense to see the good and bad things of both sides. As you can imagine, I favor people that show that they think about issues, listen to facts and advice and then make a decision (in other words, people that blink). So given Obama’s VP pick (and yes, Biden says some dumb things, like everyone else, but he really is an expert in international issues), the thought behind his responses to some international issues and the current economic crisis I would be comfortable having him making decisions as the President and leading the country. Do I think he is good at everything and do I agree with all his policies? NO. Would I feel more comfortable if he had more “experience” showing examples of his leadership? yes.
Look I am not here to say you are wrong and I am right. They are all politicians and humans. I just really honestly have trouble with people like Palin, Bush and Cheney and favor people like Obama, Biden, Collen Powell and Condoleezza Rice that do not seem to see the world as black and white. It is just clear to me that of all the candidates, Palin has never thought really about global issues and the economy at this scale and that is really dangerous when I see that she is willing to act so radically on her lack of knowledge to seem like a “doer”.

Nice to know that Sarah Palin is “up to date” on an event that happened 7 years ago. Nice to know that it only took 3 weeks of being shielded from the media to prepare for answers to questions that might be asked.
Did you not notice that the liklihood of being asked a question about the Iraq war & 9/11 was pretty high considering she was standing on ground zero? She only had to memorize a couple of answers – a lame attempt by the McCain campaign to make it appear that she was willing to answer questions from the national media on any topic.
Pretty scary to think this is the person that could possibly be our next VP, or worse, President if McCain keels over, which will probably happen if he’s elected because her Pastor would have put on a curse on him and prayed that she would be the next President. According to Ms. Palin….the Pastor’s blessing worked to make her Alaska’s Governor.

If McCain is soooo important that he has to leave his campaign to go back to DC to fix the crisis then let the VP candidates have their debate. Isn’t one of the requirement of the VP is to be able to step in at a moment notices and lead?

Goodbye Kitty,
You, as well as McCain, have gotten your milkshake taken and drank by Obama!
I guess I would feel bad too if a biracial man who was raised by two All American White women from middle America produced a cynic killer who has revolutionized the game of politics. On top of that, he’s going to be POTUS TOO!
You Just Can’t Make This Stuff Up!!!!
Whine about the insignificant as you wish. The Endgame Holds Firm. You continue to whine. Obama continues to WIN, and WIN BIG he will.

“I agree with the Bush administration that we take the fight to them, we never again let them come onto our soil and try to destroy not only our democracy but communities like, the community of New York, never again. So, yes I do agree with taking the fight to the terrorists and stopping them over there,” Palin said.
She does realize there’s a lot of “over theres,” doesn’t she? And the Iraq “over there” didn’t really have anything to do with what happened at Ground Zero – she knows that, right?

She added: “I think our presence in Iraq and Afghanistan will lead to further security over our nation again because the mission is to keep the fight over there, do not let them come over here and attempt again what they accomplished here and that was some destruction, terrible destruction on that day. But, since September 11th, Americans uniting and rebuilding and committing to never letting that happen again.”
Well, I’ll be. I guess she doesn’t know that.

Yes, I should hope someday to be as mature as you. You are reeking in common sense and exposing your level of intelligence with your constant LOL, name calling and inability to debate a topic like an adult. Actually, I’m always glad when someone like you continually posts on these comment boards in support of McCain/Palin, as you simply are helping the grown-ups encourage the intelligent voters to vote for the intelligent choice – Barack Obama and Joe Biden – so keep up the good work! ELECTION OVER??? – THE OBAMA JUNGLE DRUM GETS LOUDER – HOW CAN ANYONE VOTE FOR ANYONE WITH HUSSEIN IN HIS NAME???
I just heard BHO address the nation-AMERICAN FLAGS IN THE BACKGROUND-VERY OVAL OFFICE-LIKE…… He LOOKS so presidential – he speaks with such confidence, KINDA, and can read a teleprompter (other than that one GLITCH when he paused then had to repeated himself) He smiles at the end of his very PRESIDENTIAL speech into the camera like “LOOK MA – I DID IT!!!” Very Presidential….. Did I miss THE ELECTION?? The media is doing a wonderful job as portraying him as my President already. I am so excited that the media is all-knowing and has selected him as MY PRESIDENT long before I even may know that I want him for MY PRESIDENT. The MEDIA is also doing a GRAND job of using adjectives about Gov.PALIN that are unkind to SLANT my views about her intelligence, competence, experience,etc.-OH! the list just goes on and on…….if I do what the MEDIA says AND WISHES, I would surely NOT be so SILLY as to vote for the McCain/Palin ticket. I am so looking forward to THE SOCIALIST government disguised as freedom of choice OBAMA. OH! SUCH HAPPY DAYS AHEAD when BARRACK HUSSEIN OBAMA – THUG CONNECTED – GOTTEN RICH OFF FANNIE MAY AND FREDDIE MAC, PAY BACKS FROM FAVORS DONE HIM WAITING AT THE DOOR OF OUR WHITEHOUSE – rules over us with his elegant wife, WHO SLAMS OUR COUNTRY – jabbing him from HIS BACKSIDE. CAN’T WAIT!!! GOD BLESS US ALL! TERRORISTS MUSLIMS WILL CELEBRATE IN THE STREETS – THEY WILL HAVE A DIRECT LINE TO THE WHITEHOUSE. JUST WAIT! 9/11 REVISITED.

By the way, all this “Ayers is a terrorist” stuff brings up an interesting question.
Didn’t Republicans say they would hunt down terrorists in any country? Doesn’t our own count?
Because if Ayers is a terrorist, then we should have grabbed him and locked him away in Gitmo.
No wonder Republicans can’t find bin Laden in Pakistan! They can’t even find Ayers at the University of Chicago!

Hello Kitty: The best you can do is to call me a hypocrite and angry liberal? What part of my post was hypocritical and what part was angry? When I read your (numerous) posts, they are filled with name calling and insults (and childish LOLs after practically every sentance) towards anyone who dares disagrees with your position. I think I actually said I was happy you (and others like you) continued to post comments, as you are helping my cause. So yes, please, keep up the good work. I must say though, that all the other Republicans who are intelligent, decent and smart, must be very annoyed to be linked to you…. I know I would be if I were a Republican.
Now lets get back to the real issue on this comment section (if you can handle that) and discuss the fact that Ms. Palin finally took a question from the national media (ah hem…3 weeks a little late), and even in that prepared answer (probably memorized for days) she still managed to bungle it up by attributing the 9/11 attacks to the war in Iraq.

Searamblingonandon, you just proved you liberals have no commonsense judgement of how foreign affairs work. We are still in Japan, Korea, Some Western European cities from WW2. Do you know why? It’s because of what we learned in WW1 by not leaving our presence there, that financially and militarily, were better off to make our presence known that at a moments notice we are ready again. That is why the Soviets never moved further west into Europe, or the N. Koreans never attacked again. Vietnam is an example of what liberal political pressure can do to a nation after leaving with no presence, MILLIONS slaughtered for not accepting the communist regime, that is not commonsense, that’s stupid politics from the left.

Yes, I’m sure I remember now. The whole “no sanctuary” for terrorists thing.
So for seven years, you Republicans apparently didn’t think Ayers was a terrorist. I sure don’t recall anyone bringing him up, before Chicago became part of the Axis of Evil, that is. And then you read a Wikipedia article about how he blew up a police statue, and now he’s a terrorist?

You have to admit she was an unorthodox pick, and a relatively unknown entity before. I can see your point, and of course politics is politics – can you imagine Obama or Biden doing anything that Hannity wouldn’t complain about?
But when you are as unknown and unexpected as her, you have to expect a lot of journalists wanting some time with you.

Cindy, your point was made, you libs still don’t like her and still think she’s and idiot, and will find anything she says or does and tear her apart. Well, then it’s fair game on your candidates with the comments we make. She talked to the reporters, and that still doesn’t satisfy you nuts. I think she did fine. What was she supposed to do, she answered the reporters questions, and you libs still didn’t like her answers or the way she talks. So tell me who’s judgemental now.

Why hasn’t the main stream media showed viewers the video of Palin at her church getting blessed by a visiting pastor that just so happens to be a witch hunter. His voice alone will scare the bejesus out of a person. I mean, we all go to see and hear the Rev Wright over and over again. In fairness this video needs to be seen.

reddog: “she is an unorthodox and unknown and I think they should let her be her she cant be anymore harm to McCain Then biden is to obama with all the blunders”
Yeah, no kidding.
Well, she does do more harm, objectively speaking. Biden gaffes – he always has. But its also assumed he generally knows what he’s talking about, at least between the gaffes. He’s basically accepted as “ready” by most – I mean, the GOP would have a hard time arguing he wasn’t.
Everyone knows why Obama picked him. He has a lot of foreign policy experience, at least in terms of what a senator can have.
But Palin isn’t assumed to be anything, and if she’s uninformed, it raises questions about why McCain picked her. Was it a cynical pick based on gender? Was it because she’s attractive?
And, remember, McCain specifically said earlier this year he acknowledged the need to pick someone who was immediately ready because of his age.
McCain also raised the bar with all this “country first” stuff. You know, he’d rather lose an election, blah, blah. So if Palin is seen as someone who is more valuable on the campaign trail than she would be in office, it also contradicts that point.

Beck: STOP, please stop protecting Sara and McCain ? Are you serious can you really say that with a straight face? Sarah has taken more Crap from the media in one month than Obama has in 19. The media continues to hound her on tanning beds and trooper gate while giving Obama a free pass on Rev. Wright, Rezko, William Ayres and his involvement in the Freddie & Fannie collapse. Nine of the top 10 recipients of campaign donations from them have been to Democrats. Raines & Johnson both got rich cooking the books for these companies and both have ties to the Democratic Party and Obama. You want to talk experience what experience does Obama Bring to the table that Palin does not? He is a Senator who has spent most of his time in Washington running for President. I remember an Interview in 2004 where Obama said he would not run for President because he lacked Experience. His own words “I lack experience” just like on most statements he has made he had changed positions on that as well. Never in our history has there been such a liberal candidate with so Little experience! He has been given a free pass by all major Media outlets. Anybody who opposes him is instantly labeled a Racist. Wake up Beck and look at the facts Obama has no record to run on. At least Palin has been a Governor and has Executive Experience. She is a real American with real Experiences. A Mother of five one who is a special needs child and one who is serving his Country in Iraq. She should be admired for her dedication and work ethic. She made herself who she is with hard work and strong values. I look forward to seeing her in the debates against Biden and I think she is going to surprise a lot of you. She is not afraid of a fight, smart and articulate. She is going to make a great VP of The United States of America.

Paul: “Nah, her witch doctor cast a spell protecting her from any terrorists.”
Witch doctor? You should stop spending so much time over at the Dummy Underground or with the Kossacks because they’re making you stupid. Do you really want to compare a blessing for Palin by some visiting minister to 20+ years of God***n America and the hating of white people central to Black Liberation Theology? How do you feel about the blatant disrespect Obama has for the only person willing to raise him when everyone else abandoned him or the fact that Obama allows his half-brother to subsist in abject poverty in a 6×10′ hell hole of a home in some Kenyan ghetto when he made more than $4 million last year?
Well, at least Obama has the Wiccan vote sewn up.
“By the way, are you referring to Ayers? He didn’t actually kill cops – he just killed a statue of a cop.”
The Weather Underground never killed cops? Another product of our failed public system of education I see. You better get educated Paul, because when “The One” goes down in flames on November 4th, you’re going to be left wondering why the messiah was so thoroughly rejected. It won’t be because of racism. It’ll be because the American public isn’t ready to put an empty suit, unaccomplished Marxist in a position that’s way above his pay grade. So don’t be bitter and go do something silly like cling to religion or become xenophobic.
Maybe, by election day, we’ll be able to find out whatever happened to the $100 million+ Ayers and NObama spent on “education” for the south side with no apparent effect. Watch out Paul, he’ll be coming for your wallet too — no matter how little you may have in it. To everyone according to their needs from everyone according to their ability. Right, Paul?
Of course with 57 states he could still pull this election out by carrying states like Puerto Rico, Kenya, France, Germany, the old Soviet Union, Iran and his good buddies over at Hamas.
Arrogance by the accomplished is just arrogance. Arrogance by the unaccomplished is nothing more than buffoonery.
Now repeat after me: hope, change, hope, change, hope, change, hope, change, hope, change……

Hello Kitty,
Who is judgmental now? Perhaps when you say things like “still doesn’t satisfy you nuts” could come across as judgmental? Just something to think about as you reply to someone. But I do appreciate you choosing to engage in actual dialogue instead of nonsense, so I will answer the questions you put forth.
Yes, she answered the reporter’s questions, but the point that many are missing was that her answers were incorrect. She attributed the 9/11 attack to the Iraq war, which has been proven to not be true. You really can’t expect “us libs” to applaud someone who wants to be the next VP for saying something that is incorrect, do you? I agree with you – all candidates are fair game. My disagreement with you was your continual personal attacks towards anyone who said something you didn’t like. Let’s keep the statements and barbs (and hopefully stick with the facts) when discussing the candidates and their positions on policy, and engage in respectful conversation with those we disagree with. Fair enough?
Posted by: Cindy | September 25, 2008, 4:29 pm 4:29 pm
Let’s remember folks, what Liberals accomplished in this country. Liberals helped unions become established to earn a decent wage. Liberals got the eight-hour work day established. Liberals created the New Deal to get the nation rescued from the Great Depression. Liberals got women the right to vote. Liberals eliminated Jim Crow. Liberals got the Civil Rights Act passed. Liberals have helped make huge gains in eliminating pay discimination based on gender. So don’t use the term Liberal like it is some kind of swear word.

And, yes, lol – Palin’s anti-witch blessing makes Rev Wright look pretty mainstream.

He’s a Senator, a state legislator, a law school professor, a community activist and he has made it through the meat grinder of 19 months of primaries.

I have a question for Palin supporters. PLEASE know that this is not meant to attack at all, I am honestly curious and open minded. PLEASE do not respond with “Obama and Biden are idiots”. I already know what I do not like about them because well, they talk to the media and have had debates. From her all I have is her short record and her 3 interviews but even with all that I still do not feel like she has any knowledge about international issues or the economy:
Do you honestly feel that if she became VP (or President) she would be ready right now to understand wold issues and the economy? If so please give me specific reasons/examples.
I know she does not have foreign experience or much economic knowledge since she is a Governor and manages a state that does not have deficit problems and that is ok with me (many Presidents have been Governors). BUT, has she done/said anything that leads you to believe that she knows what she is talking about in terms of international issues and national/global economy? if so PLEASE point me to it so that I can consider this as I try to understand more about her.

If so, he was a persistent terrorist. Because I read after he blew up the statue, it was repaired, so he blew it up a second time.
So where’s the photos of him playing naked twister with attack dogs?

batesba74 – many of us believe a Vice President should be more than a spunky Mom, or that Alaska’s proximity to Russia grants international experience. But here’s my largest concern: I watched the videos of Palin addressing her church and came away with serious questions about how she defines “God’s plan” with governance. Iran’s President Mahmood Ahmadi-Najad says God is guiding him toward the end of days. It is terrifying to consider that Palin and Ahmadi-Najad could both agree the destruction of the earth has been prophesied as part of “God’s plan”. This woman should not be riding shotgun to the Commander in Chief.

I agree with you. She’s a governor and she’s most likely not as far away from being ready as Obama supporters like to say – or as the McCain campaign is making her look by tying her hands like they are.
I also agree that a McCain/Clinton ticket would have been extraordinary. I really don’t think Clinton would have done it as there’s just too much difference, issue by issue.
Same problem Obama would have had trying to get Hagel – sure on the war and foreign policy in general, they are a good match, but there’s too much distance between them on everything else.

Cindy, Iraq was tied to the attacks in the since that Saddam’s son’s were in contact with multiple terrorist group’s in the region, which one happen to be Al Qaeda, that is a fact. Now, was Saddam and Iraq themselves the aggressors, no, but what Saddam did is let his son’s run certain area’s of his government which led to the connection of terrorist in arm’s support and harboring. Bush said anyone who harbors or helps terrorist will be considered as terrorist themselves and will be subject to retaliation from the U.S.A. and It’s Allies on the war against terror. Saddam done messed his chance up by going against the U.N. sanctions, which gave the U.S. and It’s Allies the green light. What a lot of people don’t know is that when Saddam found out what his son’s were doing behind his back, he was scared and pissed at his son’s dealings with out even knowing, Iraqi Generals admitted to that. The Generals said that they were to scared to confront the son’s or even Saddam about the matter, because they were themselves worried how the three might actually react, which we all know how evil those three were anyway. So, the connections of terrorist is actually from Saddam’s son’s and not himself, but his son’s were still apart of the government.

Paul: “To the best of my knowledge, Ayers never killed anyone.”
Yeah, he’s a saint. William Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn, members of the 1960s domestic terrorist group the Weather Underground bombed the Capitol, the Pentagon, and New York City police headquarters in the 1970′s, and Ayers claimed to have personally participated in the bombings.
“I don’t regret setting bombs,” Ayers said. “I feel we didn’t do enough.” Not enough? In 1969, Ayers and his wife convened a “War Council” in Flint Michigan, whose purpose was to launch a military front inside the United States with the purpose of helping Third World [Maoist-communist] revolutionaries conquer and destroy it. This is the guy who chose Obama to lead the Annenberg Challenge. This is the guy whose house Obama chose to launch his candidacy in 1995.
In 1970 Ayers summed up the Weatherman philosophy as: ”Kill all the rich people. Break up their cars and apartments. Bring the revolution home, kill your parents, that’s where it’s really at.”
He’s unrepentent to this day and inspired the future weathermen who killed two cops and a security guard in Nyack.
Ayers never denied his role in the Weather Underground and escaped jail because of a technicality. He should be in jail for what he did unless you think it’s leal to blow up government buildings and advocate for the violent overthrow of our constitutional government?
Obama is a Marxist. He admitted being one in college and has follwed and practiced the teachings of Marxists like Alinsky. The media send dozens of investigators to Wasilla to learn that Palin was concerned about a trooper who threatened to kill her family members, was drunk at work and even tasered his own 10 year old son. They even found out she had a tanning bed in her office. Imagine that? In Alaska of all places! Paid for with her own money.
Good thing they’re up there finding out about all this while the cover up of Obama’s relationship with Ayers, the domestic terrorist, the Annenberg Challenge and the looting of $100 million goes on unchallenged. Never mind the almost $1 billion in earmarks he’s fought for and the fact that a $1 million dollar award to Michelle’s hospital came just before she received and increase of $200k per year. Gotta be a coincidence, right?
“And, yes, lol – Palin’s anti-witch blessing makes Rev Wright look pretty mainstream”
Ummm, I don’t think all those bitter folks who cling to guns and religion are going to agree with you. This is why you’re going to lose. Most people can see Rev. Wright for what he is and won’t accept that Obama spent more than 20 years listening to that kind of hate while nodding his head in agreement.
Now tell us again how you’re really a conservative whose voting for a Marxist race baiter who has accomplished nothing in his years of public service and who wants to surrender in Iraq while negotiating with terrorist states unconditionally. That was funny. You may be able to define conservatism but you’ve never practiced it.
Try again?

batesba74: Even though others have answered your question, I wanted to ask you a question. If you are concerned that Sen. Obama is unqualified for the job of being President since he’s only served as a Senator, then I am assuming the same concerns could apply to John McCain. I realize that John McCain has served much longer in the Senate, but that could be looked upon as Sen. McCain as being part of the problem. I know he likes to take the title of “Maverick” and I do believe that John McCain has some qualities and experience that we should respect and honor, but I do question his decision-making abilities when he votes over 90% with Pres. Bush; as chairman of the Commerce Committee almost always voted for deregulation (which is a big part of our current economy crises and necessary bailout at taxpayers expense); chose Sarah Palin as a running mate; and only just realized this week that our economy is in crises.
Now to give additional answers to your question about Barack Obama’s qualifications, here are some facts:
In addition to Barack Obama being a current Senator, a professor who taught constitutional law, a community organizer, author and lecturer, he has served on the following committees: (taken from http://www.votesmart.org)
Foreign Relations, Member
Health, Education, Labor & Pensions, Member
Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, Member
Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, Member
Subcommittee on African Affairs, Member
Subcommittee on Children and Families, Member
Subcommittee on East Asian and Pacific Affairs, Member
Subcommittee on Employment and Workplace Safety, Member
Subcommittee on European Affairs, Chair
Subcommittee on Federal Financial Management, Government Information, Federal Services, and International Security , Member
Subcommittee on International Development and Foreign Assistance, Economic Affairs and International Environmental Protection, Member

So now you’re saying experience is bad. Or is it good when it comes to Biden and only bad when it comes to McCain?
Besides, since when does Bush vote? How could McCain “vote” with Bush when Bush doesn’t get a vote?
Of all the arguments the left attempts this is the most dishonest. If McCain was like Bush, conservatives would have supported him in the primaries. They didn’t. McCain spends most of his time making conservatives angry. But don’t let anything factual give you pause. Hello Kitty: I think if we all dug deep enough, we’d find terrorists linked to Al Qaida living all over the world (perhaps even in the US), and in government positions. After 9/11 President Bush told the US that Bin Laden (and guess who trained him?) and Al Qaida was responsible for the attacks. Prior to invading Iraq, President Bush told “we the people” that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction and for our own safety, we needed to invade Iraq, liberate their people and establish a new government. He did not say we were invading Iraq to atone for the 9/11 attacks –– that’s why we began a war with Afghanistan to hunt down and kill Bin Laden. The weapons of mass destruction claim proved to be lies, and we were engaged in a war that we started under false pretenses. This had nothing to with 9/11. I don’t doubt for a minute that Al Qaida is alive and well in Iraq, (among other countries we haven’t attacked or invaded) but that was not the reason for the Iraqi war. For Ms. Palin to say she supports Bush and the Iraq war because that will prevent another attack on US soil is ridiculous. It’s like me walking over to my neighbor and slapping him because he associates with my coworker who did something bad and saying that will prevent my neighbor from ever doing it again.

William J. LePetomaine: “Surely you right-wingnuts can come up with a way to equate Obama with Hitler, can’t you? C’mon! You can do it. You’ve got the venom in you. Let it fly!”
Just for fun let’s look at the Nazi part platform of 1920 that Hitler co-wrote. It called for socialized medicine, universal health care, universal education, guaranteed wages, the appropriation of the wealth of the rich and the redistribution to the poor. They were anti big business, environmentalists and everything they offered was filled with populism. They were avid defenders of the little guy.
Now, which party of today does that sound like? The progressive cause of today’s Democratic Party isn’t all that dissimilar to the feel good unity of Hitler’s fascism.
Conservatives, on the other hand, hold a deep dislike and mistrust of the federal government and believe that private industry can do almost everything better than government.
“Everything for the state, nothing outside the state and nothing against the state” doesn’t sound like something that would be compatible with conservatism.
But you go ahead and believe what they taught, er, I mean indoctrinated, you with in school. You’ll even hear the same nonsense parroted by the MSM. But by all means vote Democrat: It’s much easier than thinking.
Posted by: MarkM | September 25, 2008, 5:36 pm 5:36 pm
Paul, you should actually educate yourself,
William Ayers was the founding member of the Weather Underground – The group was a violent anti war organization who’s charter was the overthrow of the United States government. They bombed the Pentagon, the US Capitol and a number of NY City police stations.
William Ayers own girlfriend and 2 other members of the group were killed by a bomb they were building to use against military recruiters at Fort Dix. The group also killed 2 police officers and a security guard during a botched bank robbery-the purpose of which was to gain funds to further their terrorist activities.
William Ayers has never renounced his actions and to this day defends them and laments that the group had not done more. Look it up.
Obama knew exactly who this man was and yet chose to nurture a personal and professional relationship with him. I’m sorry, but someone aspiring to the Presidency of the US does not do that.

MarkM: I have to give you that one about Hitler! good one.
Here is an example of the opposite though:
During the Cold War, the United States established a diplomatic alliance with Franco, due to his strong anti-Communist policy. American President Richard Nixon toasted Franco, [2] and, after Franco’s death, stated: “General Franco was a loyal friend and ally of the United States[3].”
Look these are different times and I just resent that you say that people that like Obama don’t think. I think it is just a matter of personal preferences. I do not think “socialist” Spain, France, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Scandinavian nations, etc. are doing so bad. Do you?

Center One, I never said they were involved with 9/11! Saddam’s son’s were tied to harboring and arm’s support in the region with other terrorist groups including Al Qaeda. Harboring and supporting terrorist groups has nothing to do with 9/11 other than Al Qaeda itself! Saddam’s son’s had hands in that support on attacks against Israel from Hezbollah and other terrorist groups, but helped Al Qaeda in attacks in Saudi Arabia and other countries around the region. Once again, ANYONE WHO HARBORS OR SUPPORTS TERRORIST ACTIVITES AROUND THE WORLD WILL BE SUBJECT TO RETAILIATION FROM THE U.S.A. AND IT’S ALLIES ABROAD. Why is it that Muammar Qaddafi understood that but you must not?

Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin met Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai Sept. 23, 2008, in New York. There has been some contention between the McCain-Palin campaign and the media over access to Palin’s meeting with foreign leaders. When the media threatened not to cover Palin, the campaign caved in only to give very brief photo opportunities. The media were told to leave 30 seconds into Palin’s meeting with Karzai.”

Annoyedvoter:
“Both parties have dishonest attempts but I actually think the most dishonest attempt is from Republicans saying that Obama wants to increase taxes to the middle class.”
How do you define middle class? Since the bottom 50% of wage earners pay only about 3% of all federal income taxes how you define this will be important. Since more than half of all Americans own stock today Obama’s substantial increases in the capital gains tax will cause them an increase in taxes paid. Since employers pay FICA taxes at the expense of employees, Obama’s increased FICA taxes will inhibit wage growth. When he increases taxes on businesses, businesses will just pass along those increases in the price of their goods and services. Do you think that will impact the middle class? Can the middle class afford to pay higher prices? When the US economy slows, like it always does when the fedgov increases taxes, do you think the middle class will be impacted by the subsequent job cutbacks?
“That is outrageous.”
Allowing the Bush tax cuts to sunset in 2010, like Obama will, allows for the largest tax increase in our history. Just keep telling yourself that none of this will affect the middle class.
Not to mention that ad about sexual education for little kids. Come on!
Here’s what the old law said:
” Each class or course in comprehensive sex education offered in any of grades 6 through 12 shall include instruction on the prevention, transmission and spread of AIDS.”
Here’s what Senate Bill 99 that Obama supported said:
“Each class or course in comprehensive sex education in any of grades K through 12 shall include instruction on the prevention of sexually transmitted infections, including the prevention, transmission and spread of HIV.”
So McCain was right. The law requires “comprehensive” sex education for Kindergartners. Obama said this was “the right thing to do.”
The MSM are the liars in all this because if they told you the truth about Obama’s past, and what he really believes in, you’d have Hillary running for the top spot and then you might have a real chance of winning.

WOW MarkM calm down. I am not attacking you for your views. If you think the “free market economy” and “no government intervention” work best and that wealth does trickle down, that is great! I happen to think that while there are good things with this approach, there are many other issues (increase gap between rich and poor and crazy situations like the one we have today). There are also things that are good about a different approach to this, with its good and bad things. Since I have personally lived through a life changing economic crisis because of free market economics (believe me I went from pretty wealthy to no money to eat AT ALL), then I am a little more weary about this. Again I understand why you think that approach works, it does have its positives. However I resent that you think that I do not agree with you because I am “idiotic” and buy everything the media tells me.
I guess you define middle class as McCain does “5 million and above”.

The other countries that harbor and support terrorist activities receive our knowledge of terrorist activities giving to the countries government, if they do not cooperate with us through intelligence or military force they will be subject to retaliation, that does not mean just invading. An attack has to be placed on us directly for us to invade. Now, Iraq had many more problems with us before the Al Qaeda attacks on 9/11. Since there was a large presence of Al Qaeda militants in Iraq, that meant they were harboring and supporting terrorist activities in the region and the region ONLY, not 9/11. Now, since Al Qaeda were the aggressors in 9/11 and not Iraq, Iraq was still harboring and supporting terrorist activities in the REGION, and Al Qaeda was the main terrorist group we were going after, and they were in Iraq with support from factions of the government. Iraq did not need to know about plans of attacks, because they had nothing to do with 9/11, but other terrorist activities were being supported in the region by Iraq. Iraq had there chance to negotiate, but choose once again to deny U.N. inspectors and deny terrorist activities within their border. This really is easy to understand, but if you don’t, that tells me exactly what side of politics you vote, with no disrespect.

and btw about this:
“Each class or course in comprehensive sex education in any of grades K through 12 shall include instruction on the prevention of sexually transmitted infections, including the prevention, transmission and spread of HIV.”
I support this bill. Perhaps you want to continue to believe that just telling your kids “abstain” will lead to less infection and incidents of predators, etc. Again a matter of personal opinion of which you are entitled to disagree of course. HIV is a problem and it is a reality and kids are having sex VERY young these days…scary I know, but not teaching them anything and just taking them to church will not do. Besides, this would not be mandatory in schools.

Wow America!! John McCain is acting true to his nature! Remember when he came from vitenam as pow – and quickly suspended his marriage the crisis was the wife had suffered a stroke, cancer and been in an accident – and hes met a millionaire heiress.
America lets drop our hidden racism and vote for the best man for the job – and that certainly is not John Sidney McCain or Sarah Palin but Barack Obama
I’ve never had a black-friend in my life
but the future of America is much more important to me – I will therefore not allow my judgement and vote to be skewed by my natural dislike of something that isn’t like me – i love America too much to leave it in the hands of John McCain and Sarah Palin

Disgruntled, that’s a nice twist of propaganda saying that and saying your a republican. I may be wrong here, but yes, there are frustrated republicans with McCain, but they don’t sound like that. That sounds more like you changed your name and made a statement that sounds more like a frustrated liberal trying to sway votes to Obama from the undecided and independents that come on here looking for info.

As a feminist I am proud to say that I support McCain and Palin. I may not agree with them on every issue but I believe that they both will do what is best for the American people.
You can try to say that McCain is just a 3rd term Bush but history proves otherwise. Just like Obama had to move to the center from his far left extremes, McCain had to move to the right a bit to get the support of his party. McCain has always been independent and in the middle of the issues, like most Americans. He has fought both sides in the interest of the people.
Does anyone remember Lois Jenson? She was the woman who filed the first sexual harassment lawsuit. Well guess who she went to when she needed someone to fight for her… that is right, John McCain. And he did fight for her and he won.
I love Palin. Yes, she is pro-life, but she was also raised catholic so I can forgive her for her pro-life views. I love that she has stood up to the good old boys and fought corruption. She has proven that she will fight for the people.
I just ask that you all look at the propaganda and over marketing of Obama and his record (or lack of) before you vote. I hope as women and Americans, we can think for ourselves, not the way the media tells us to vote.
I am a feminist and ex-democrat and I approve this message

Hello Kitty: Given that the former Director of the CIA, George Tenent said “We could never verify that there was any Iraqi authority, direction and control, complicity with al-Qaeda for 9/11 or any operational act against America, period”. (Thank you Center One for providing the quote previously) How can you still believe and say that “Since there was a large presence of Al Qaeda militants in Iraq, that meant they were harboring and supporting terrorist activities in the region and the region ONLY..” Do you presume to be more of an expert and have more information than the former Director of the CIA?
You also said that “An attack has to be placed on us directly for us to invade.” However, Iraq DID NOT attack the US on 9/11 and we still invaded Iraq, overthrew their government, and engaged in war under false pretenses..(not to mention killed thousands of their citizens, killed thousands of our soldiers and has cost us billions of dollars each month). We were told by our President that were invading Iraq and engaging in war because our intelligence indicated they had “weapons of mass destruction”. This was incorrect. The UN Inspectors were allowed (eventually) to enter Iraq and check for weapons of mass destruction and came up empty handed. I recall that we urged them to hurry up and get out of there because by that time we were threatening to attack and could not guarantee their safety.
Sarah Palin, in her reply to the national media said: “I think our presence in Iraq and Afghanistan will lead to further security over our nation again because the mission is to keep the fight over there, do not let them come over here and attempt again what they accomplished here and that was some destruction, terrible destruction on that day. But, since September 11th, Americans uniting and rebuilding and committing to never letting that happen again.” Clearly she was linking the attacks on 9/11 to the war in Iraq, when she said “keep the fight over there, do not let them come over here and attempt again what they accomplished here”. All the experts have agreed that there was no link between the attacks and Iraq (although clearly some Americans still cling to that notion) and only gives the appearance that she is perpetuating myths upon the American people instead of sticking with the facts…and maybe the reason why she is doing this is because she can tell the difference between the two.

I have a bona fide question for my fellow feminists…
and the issue of course is new, we’ve never had this situation before. BUT I am THORN.
OBVIOUSLY Sarah Palin is addicted to pregnancy. Should it matter to us if she and her husband decide to have another child while she is in office?
Of course the normal procedure is you can’t fire or not employ someone because they might become pregnant, even if they already have five children, one with special needs and one that got knocked up by local self proclaimed redneck… but what about in THIS circumstance?
I hope I did not offend other women here, I am quite torn myself.

I have African-American, Hispanic, Vietnamese, and Russian family members to go along with my Caucasian Irish/British/German/Austrian/Native American by blood ancestry. So to call me a racist because you lied and I called you out, that’s just stupid! And then to call me a racist because you decided that I must be voting for McCain and not Obama, so that must make me a racist, that’s the most ignorant rant i ever heard! I typically don’t get involved in politico’s as I feel that all individuals have there own beliefs. So for me this is a first. I believe that Sarah Palin is probably one of the best things that has come around as long as I can remember. She is refreshing and her ideals are representative of the American people. We forget that the principals of this country are not based on Political ideas but on the people and what they believed in. Too bad that this has become noting more that Politics. It’s a shame that we the people no longer want whats best for the people, it’s whats best for the Republicans or Democrats. Sad, very sad

McCain is for equal pay. Those of you who claim he is not are just not educated. McCain opposed a bill that gave people the right to sue for past wages, because that would result in trillions of dollars that business would have to pay and would result in a depression. Do you think we need that in this economic crisis.
Think and research before you speak.

Gigi: In my last two sentences, I was referring to Bush Inc. trying to justify the war to the American people by morphing it from invading because threats of weapons of mass destruction, liberating the people and establishing a democratic government to preventing another 9/11 attack on US soil from Al Quaeda. Ms. Palin, with her remarks, is parroting the mentality of the reasons for the Iraqi war. Either she doesn’t have the facts, or is knowingly selling the myth of Bush, Inc. to justify starting this war.

Not that this matters at all for voting but… McCain loves women SO much that he left his crippled wife waiting for him for another more beautiful one 18 years younger (not before cheating many times). Oh, he also picked a VP that he has never met simply because she is a woman and won’t let her speak in public. Now that is awesome! I love John McCain!

Cindy, you with all due respect, are not understanding what I said whether you agree with the war or not. Which also means you don’t understand what the President and military officials meant by their statements and actions for why we went into Iraq, not surprising. We did not go into Iraq because of 9/11 connections with Al Qaeda. We went into Iraq because they were harboring and supporting other factions of Al Qaeda members in Iraq at the doing of Saddam’s son’s, nowhere did I say or was the invasion of Iraq because of 9/11. It was all based on Al Qaeda being there. The whole U.N. situation was to gain more support for the invasion through the U.N. and not just are allied friends. Pakistan has Al Qaeda there, but we are trying to work diplomatically due to the fact we are not enemies with them and they did cooperate to an extent which Iraq did not do. IF YOU HARBOR OR SUPPORT TERRORIST AND THIER ACTIVITES, YOU WILL BE CONSIDERD A TERRORIST YOURSELF, meaning Al Qaeda was there, Iraq did not cooperate diplomatically, so we invaded. It’s not that hard to understand. They had the capability to build wmd’s by which alot of the capabilities were hidden, and found. Then their were medium range missiles found with nerve gas in the head’s, those are still wmd’s. You say large stock piles were not found, but the evidence the DOD showed wmd’s were found and also Israeli intelligence showed hundreds of military trucks weeks before the invasion, that were seen crossing the Syrian border. I wonder what could have been in those trucks, umm? Saddam always had ties to the baathist regime in Syria. Saddam never got along with any of his neighbor’s other than Syria. It’s all strategic commonsense. Now, I agree war is bad and ugly, but at times in history, it’s a necessity and does not always go exactly to plan. Which means you improvise the situation to a different strategic move to better the outcome and as quickly as possible bring it to an end.

So “Beck”, put up or shut up – What lies are you speaking of? I’m not taking about changes in direction, which can be the prerogative of any public servant (Obama too) and is bound to make after getting the full, accurate details of any event. What lies specifically? Here’s just “some” of the notable lies that Obama has told over the years…all have been researched and coorborated.
• 145 Obama accuses McCain of lying about Biden being against clean coal; video proves Obama is lying
• 144 Obama claims McCain is opposed to abortion in cases of rape or incest; McCain has never held that position.
• 143 Obama accuses McCain of making an ad about Obama’s vote to approve leaving babies who survive abortion procedures to die; he’s lying as McCain did not make the ad
• 142 Obama’s ad on abortion claims BHO always supported medical care to protect infants; text of the Bill he supported shows he wanted babies born alive after abortions to be left to die
• 141 Obama’s ad on abortion uses quotes by journalists who made negative comments about a McCain ad; but Obama is misleading because both journalists have been proven to be incorrect
• 140 Obama’s lying when he says McCain’s ad misstated BHO’s Sex Ed for Kindergartners Bill: McCain’s ad was accurate; here’s the Sex Ed Bill text
• 139 Obama and Biden both truncate McCain’s comments on the strength of the economy’s fundamentals: deliberate distortion
• 138 Biden claims McCain tried to hurt our veterans by denying them educational benefits; NewsWeek confirms Biden is lying
• 137 Obama claims under McCain, Elderly would have had Social Security tied up in the Stock market; Newsweek cries BS
• 136 Obama claims his opponent will cut social security in half: NOT true; Obama guilty of scare-mongering aimed at Seniors
• 135 Biden claims McCain wouldn’t help small borrowers hurt by housing crisis; this is untrue according to Newsweek
• 134 Obama claimed during the primary he had more Ex President Clinton Foreign Policy advisers than Sen. Clinton; she had 70% more
• 133 Obama claimed his father served in World War 2: his Kenyan-born father never served
• 132 Obama grossly misquoted Sen.Clinton about her vote on a banking bill; BHO used the false quote to show why voters don’t trust Government
• 131 Obama claimed employers are more likely to be struck by lightning than be prosecuted for employing illegals; Gov stats prove he’s lying
• 130 Pushing his Green agenda Obama claimed Japanese Car average 45 mpg fuel efficiency; its actually around 29 mph
• 129 Obama disparaged the President saying he hadn’t met with auto makers until the sixth year of his presidency; GWB met automakers in April 2003
• 128 Obama disparaged the efficiency of our healthcare system saying the U.S. spends twice per capita than other countries: WaPo proves he’s lying

“Barack Obama is so off base in his proclamation that he would meet with some of these leaders around our world who would seek to destroy America and that, and without preconditions being met,” she continued. “That’s beyond naïve. And it’s beyond bad judgment.”
Asked if she considers former Republican Secretary of State Henry Kissinger to be “naïve” for supporting talks without preconditions, Palin said, “I’ve never heard Henry Kissinger say, ‘Yeah, I’ll meet with these leaders without preconditions being met.’”
Palin was overlooking that Kissinger (with whom she met earlier this week) has backed negotiating directly with Iran over its nuclear program and other bilateral issues — a point which Couric reconfirmed at the closer of her interview.
“Incidentally,” said Couric, “we confirmed Henry Kissinger’s position following our interview, he told us he supports talks if not with Ahmadinejad, than with high-level Iranian officials without preconditions.”

Disgruntled – 1 Great Great Uncle who served in the Army in WW1, Grandfather who served in the Army in WW2, then served in the Navy and retired with 35 yrs. military service. Two Great Uncles who served in WW2 in the Army. 1 uncle who served in the Army in Vietnam – My Father served in the Army but was stationed in Germany and was en route to Vietnam awaiting the dreaded words all soldiers feared. I have a brother in law who served in the Gulf War along with 3 other cousins. I now have 4 other cousins serving in Iraq and Afghanistan as we speak, plus a brother who just returned home 3 months ago from Iraq, which he was apart of the surge and said it did work. Now, you want me to go back more further in my families military history? Because I can If you want, and that would also include 3 more wars before my families pilgrimage to this Great Country.

Obama accused McCain of not being able to multi-task (referring to the postponement of the debate.) However, what has Obama been doing? He is neglecting his senatorial duties because he is more concerned about his campaigning? GIVE ME A BREAK! He hasn’t done much as senator since he was elected….except maybe vote “present.”
For the last 2 years he has been campaigning. And NOW when the country is facing this crisis (which he benefited from Freddie and Fannie, by the way)….all he can say is “if they need me, they can call me.” WHAT AN ARROGANT A**
By the way, I live in Illinois. Obama has connections with all the political crooks up in Chicago. This state’s economy is one of the worst, and our dear democratic governor is about to be indicted. He is a crook, as is Rezko and the rest of them. Oh yeah, Obama has connections with Rezko.
Better to have an imperfect Republican…than a perfect Socialist!

PRESENCE?????
Is that what she thinks, because its what SHE said, that we are simply present?!! are we there to just answer “here” when the Roll is called?
These are WARS that we are fighting!!
Our men and women are giving blood for us, and a politician calls it a “presence”!!!
SHAME!

Keepin track of the Mccain crisis, or DISTRACTIONS:
1) little cub Georgia irritates papa bear Russia, into swatting them. Mccain’s drinking buddy prostitutes his own country in order to allow Mccain to talk tough on Russia.
2) uses a hurricane to hopefully cancel his deflated convention.
3) manufactured financial crisis, hopes to cancel debates. hmmmm a crisis that not one expert saw coming.

Where’s Todd? Haven’t seen him on TV lately.
I think his removal from center stage is the signal that he is the guilty party in “troopergate”.

I feel sorry for Gov. Palin. Watching her interview with Catie tonight was a testament to how unqualified this poor woman is. Please America, as a Canadian neighbour, dont risk electing this woman to the office of V.P. What if something happened to McCain and this woman actually had to step in as President for even a brief period of time? I have faith that the American voters would never risk such a catastrophe. What on earth was McCain thinking…he showed the worst kind of judgement in choosing this woman as his running mate!! And I dont think it was fair to her to place her in this potiton that she is clearly unprepared for…how humiliating for her.

your critique of Palin sounded unbiased, gentle and accurate.
The question to me, is why does the VP Candidate, of either party have to work on such things.

You lefty loonies out there, Keep this in mind (Palin is on the right track): Sadam Hussein–same name as Obama’s middle name in case you haven’t heard–had two crazy sons who would be coming into power about now, Uday & Qusay. They were totally insane.
Uday Hussein bludgeoned to death, at a large party in front of dazed spectators, Sadam’s personal valet. He d Olympic athletes who didn’t win. He killed Iraqi beauty queens, feeding one alive to wild dogs and dropping another in a lake from a plane or helicoptor. These guys would definitely be building WMDs using oil money now, meaning we’d have to go in anyways. Sooner than later.
Also, Sadam did try in 1981 to begin building nuclear weapons. The Israelis bombed the Iraqi nuclear plant like they did recently in Syria and like they WILL DO to Iran any day now which will most likely start the Gog/Magog huge world war prophesied in Ezek 38-39 & preparing for 1 Thess 4:16-17. The Koran even twists this Gog/Magog prophecy where they become the victors over the infidels, but they will certainly lose.

beck: And what lies are you talking about? Name them. Let’s refer to Obama’s statement that he is a christian. What christian. He has never walked into a church where the pastor preaches the gospel. Only a pastor that preaches anti-american slogans. Get real. Obama doesn’t like this country and neither does Michelle. Both are racist and do not like whites, but Obama uses them for his own benefit. For your information all bets are on that Clinton votes for McCain.

AJ: One up on you is right because you don’t know anything about religion. Probably never stepped into a church in you life. Try talking to a pastor sometime and get educated.

AJ: So Biden has a son in Iraq. So does Palin. What’s the big deal. Many people have son’s in Iraq. Don’t try to protect Biden with his mouth he can protect himself. And it certainly got him in troubl twice with Obama. Aren’t you aware that Russia is on the border line of Alaska? Didn’t you go to school? Evidently you didn’t learn anything.

geevill: Biden and Obama are both failures in their speeches. For educated people they need to go back to college for four more years. A high school graduate knows more than some college graduates. No wonder there is so many college students dropping out, they can’t master the courses. 1929 was the depression and FDR wasn’t president at that time. Later he was and after he became president he formed the WPA. Of course what does Obama and Biden know neither one of them were born then and who knows what grades they got in school. I believe Obama was pushed thru Harvard because of his heavy drug and booze habit. No wonder he stutters at times before answer questions. He can’t think fast enough. And he wants to be president? The only reason he speaks good on the platform is because he studied some of RFK’s speeches. He doesn’t have any of his own. Even the words hope and change came from RFK. Voters should wake up to the fact if they think we are going into a depression now, if Obama is elected look out.

Nat Turner: I can see why Obama went to Chi-Town. He feels right at home with the minorities. He should sell his worn out mansion in Hyde Park and move there. Maybe he would be safer since they caught a man with a gun in his car near Obama’s house and he had a bullet proof vest on. This is the fourth time someone wants to kill him and this man wasn’t even white. But of course living in Hyde Park he’s also at home in the ghetto. What an area.

Order: I think your the idiot. There is nothing wrong with the economy. There is something wrong with the young people buying condos they cannot afford then dumping them because they can’t make the payments. They want to live like the rich with a beer pocket. This generation don’t have the brains to sit on or a window to throw them out of. 52% college students on drugs and booze and booze is a big problem in colleges today as the internet stated. Evidently young people don’t know how to budget their money that’s why they are at a loss. The banks should not give loans to young people without checking their credit rating and their income. This generation don’t care, in one door and out the other. No common sense only nonsense. They should stay renting. No doubt many of them are living common law because they can’t live on their own and pay the rent. What a disaster.

I think it’s very funny – that all blame goes to the Republicans (especially Bush) concerning the fall of the various banks?
Has everyone forgotten – that Democrats are in charge of both “Houses” and are sitting atop all the committees that govern these things?!
Bush has made many mistakes – but he isn’t guilty of ALL the mistakes! Makes me want to “puke” when I hear everyone laying ALL the blame on one side – when it is a fact that the Democrats had more control over it that the Republicans!

If all these mean spirited people represent the people who actually get up in the morning and go to work to provide for their families, then it’s true…POTUS OBAMA. Obama said the hard working folks are angry, clinging to their guns and religion. Hmmm.. These posts for Obama seem to be the angry ones.

Sarah Palin is shooting at their elephant- now John McCain is running around throwing Hail Marys on his way down, saying bringing her onboard was a big mistake. No wonder they won’t let her speak to the media- ” Putin is flying around over Alaska.” I don’t look to see much of Sarah Palin unscripted ever again. Yes, somewhere in Alaska there’s a village missing an idiot.

Palin has no clue about what’s going on . What is more scary is the thought of McCain and Palin taking over the whitehouse ….. another 4 years of idiots. Palin reminds me of this ,,, it’s like knowingly applying for a job that you know you can’t do. And by the way i’m a woman saying this .

At first I liked Palin, especially her speech at the Convention. Then I realized that her luster is severely diminshed by the absense of a teleprompter. But now, after watching the Couric interview, Ugghh! I feel pity and embarrassment for her.

I would be sympathetic about the idea of plain ol’ citizens like Sarah Palin holding the highest offices in the land IF we had not just lived through the past 8 years. Even John McCain says Bush has been inept. Some 80% of Americans say our country is on the wrong track. Clearly, governing our great nation is not an easy job – it requires skills and the ability to grasp a unique pattern as events unfold, to engage in complex deliberations, and to weigh which arguments are best. An experienced leader has the ability to absorb the daily avalanche of information and still cut to the essential choice. This means experience beyond Palin’s. Not just 6 years of transfer credits to an Agricultural university for a degree in broadcast journalism. Not just a few years working with an administrative manager as mayor in a tiny Alaska town. Not just Governor of a rural state gushing with oil money. Palin has not been engaged with America’s serious urban problems, our serious national or international issues. IMO, she’s simply unqualified to be next in line to the President.

Back in 2000 I would have voted for McCain. I’ve read he once told an intern, “If you won’t do what’s right because it will hurt your chances of becoming President, you don’t deserve to be President.” McCain’s selection of Sarah Palin shows something has gone wrong. Maybe it’s his age. Maybe he is not up to making tough decisions without being swayed by the extreme forces of the far right However Senator McCain reached this decision, Sarah Palin is by far, without question the most irresponsible and terrible choice for a running mate the US has EVER seen, and that includes Dan Quayle.

Why is it everyone forgot most Americans are moderate and middle class? The Rightwingers are a dying minority as are liberals. Though todays Rightwingers sound much like Hitler or a Taliban wannabe. The Rapture loving wingnuts are the worst and potentially the most dangerous and should be deported or sent to a rubber room, Sarah Palin included. Love that witch doctor though! Bugah bugah bugah!

The fact that the leader of Pakistan told Palin she was gorgeous and said he wants to hug her shows that she will not be taken seriously by world leaders if, heaven forbid, she becomes President. Palin should stick to local Alaska politics and let someone who understands national and world issues be VP.

If Obama is elected, get ready for suicide terror bombings in main street USA from Islamic radicals like what used to occur in Israel…you can call it the coming Obama-Trauma. Of course, Obama and Obamaholics and Obamawannabees will try to blame conservatives and Christians (Obama lies or believes incorrectly that he is one–he’s really a black liberation theology cult Christian with ties to Farrakhan) for upsetting the Mohammedans since basically they are really all loving and peaceful inside and if we would just tap into that new age inner love by giving them money & jobs & strange foot baths in airports and colleges & big mosques our world would be one Hippy Dory place. The Mortgage crisis is similar…lenders were just trying to tap into the new age inner prosperity, the inner intelligence, the inner entrepreneurialship, the inner hard work ethic of those who couldn’t afford a $300,000 home mortgage.

Palin did well at the Republican National Convention and showed confidence only because she was READING the speech that was prepared for her and she had rehearsed it. She falls apart during interviews because she obviously doesn’t know the subject well enough to discuss it with any clarity. Period. She is unprepared to debate or give interviews and totally unprepared to be Vice President of the United States and even Governor of Alaska. They should impeach her. Why isn’t the press still investigating and reporting Sara and Tod’s affilaition with the Alaska Independence Party. And, what kind of example is Tod Palin and the rest of Palin’s staff setting for not only Alaskans but all Americans by their ignoring their subpoenas. Are they above the law because of their affiliatin with McCain? What happens to average Americans who ignore subpeonas? And, why isn’t the time line with Sara’s water breaking and her 10 – 12 hour air travel after that being criticized by everyone especially the right to lifers and child endangerment authorities?

“If BS were currency, Palin could bail out Wall Street herself,” Parker writes. Prominent conservative columnist Kathleen Parker, an early supporter of Republican VP candidate Sarah Palin, said Friday recent interviews have shown the Alaska governor is “out of her league” and should leave the GOP presidential ticket for the good of the party.

J&J – where did you get your crystal ball readings into the future? “Get ready for suicide terror bombings in Main Street?” “Of course Obama will blame conservatives and Christians”? “Obama lies or believes he is” a Christian? Your version of Christianity sounds like fear and bigotry to me. Yes, the Times they are a-changin’, but it’s not “Hippy Dory”. Your ideologies, prejudices, and black-&-white world (democracy vs. “Mohammedans”) are left in the 20th century. This will be an election of change and Senator McCain is a couple of generations behind the curve.

Hello Kitty said: “…you don’t understand what the President and military officials meant by their statements and actions for why we went into Iraq,..”
Ok…well let’s see who “understands”…
Wikipedia – “According to the President of the United States George W. Bush and former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Tony Blair, the reasons for the invasion were “to disarm Iraq of weapons of mass destruction (WMD), to end Saddam Hussein’s support for terrorism, and to free the Iraqi people.”
I said: “President Bush told “we the people” that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction and for our own safety, we needed to invade Iraq, liberate their people and establish a new government.”
Sarah Palin said: “I think our presence in Iraq and Afghanistan will lead to further security over our nation again because the mission is to keep the fight over there, do not let them come over here and attempt again what they accomplished here and that was some destruction, terrible destruction on that day. But, since September 11th, Americans uniting and rebuilding and committing to never letting that happen again.”
I think this proves my point that I did “understand what the President and military officials meant by their statements and actions for why we went into Iraq. And I also think this proves my point that Sarah Palin doesn’t have a clue, or is repeating the talking points Bush/McCain have given her even though she knows they aren’t factual. Either way, she’s wrong.
Hello Kitty said: “We did not go into Iraq because of 9/11 connections with Al Qaeda.”
Good, I’m glad we agree what the facts are; hopefully we can help Ms. Palin understand these same facts, because her quote above clearly is linking 9/11 and the Iraqi war.
Hello Kitty said: “They had the capability to build wmd’s by which alot of the capabilities were hidden, and found. Then their were medium range missiles found with nerve gas in the head’s, those are still wmd’s.”
Hmm…it seems you have more inside information that Wikipedia & the CIA, which states:
“Although some remnants of pre-1991 production were found after the end of the war, U.S. government spokespeople confirmed that these were not the weapons for which the U.S. went to war.” In 2005, the Central Intelligence Agency released a report saying that no weapons of mass destruction had been found in Iraq.”
Hello Kitty said: “..it’s a necessity and does not always go exactly to plan. Which means you improvise the situation to a different strategic move to better the outcome…”
Again, we actually agree. This is exactly what happened. After discovering that the premise we invaded another country, overthrew their government, killed their civilians, killed our own soldiers, and costs billions of dollars each month, were completely false – Bush, Inc (and McCain/Palin) had to adopt a new position that we engaged in war with Iraq because of terrorism. Now I’ll grant you that Bush did say they wanted to end Saddam’s support for terrorism, and I think they accomplished that specific goal the day they found him and later executed him. BUT, do not be so foolish to think that Saddam was the only dictator who supported terrorism, as noted in the article by Robert Safe (link http://www.helium.com/items/671479-us-list-of-countries-that-support-terrorism) Here is an excerpt from the article:
“There are political reasons for being listed as a country sponsoring terrorism (North Korea, Cuba, Sudan, Iran and Syria). North Korea itself commits terrorist acts. Cuba encourages socialist, guerrilla movements and left-leaning governments in Latin America. The Sudan enables rebels to massacre civilians in Darfur. Iran and Syria support Hezbollah and Hamas, the most aggressive and violent opponents of Israel, which has occupied Palestine since 1967.
The most dangerous to America among these countries is North Korea, due to their possession of nuclear weapons and history of shooting down a civilian passenger jet and bombing the cabinet of South Korea on a state visit to Myanmar.”
My point has been all along regarding your defense of invading Iraq because they (your words) IF YOU HARBOR OR SUPPORT TERRORIST AND THIER ACTIVITES, YOU WILL BE CONSIDERD A TERRORIST YOURSELF, then there are a whole lot of other countries that we need to invade –given this rule. Personally, I’m glad we aren’t invading them, but you can’t use the argument that we are a war with Iraq to stop terrorism when there are many other countries that support terrorism, are just as dangerous to the US, and we aren’t invading them and engaging in war.

hello, hello kitty; listen, what you say is idiotic enough; you needn’t augment it with hideous grammar. case in point: if you’re referring to more than one elitist liberal, its spelled “liberals”, NOT “liberal’s.” you sound as moronic as sarah palin.
some other fulbright fellow (whose side-splitting nickname escapes me) needs to learn some basic grammar himself:
“I see the leftist are attacking every thing possible she not speaking to reporters shes ducking she speaks to repoters she Is an idiot”
she’s not the only one, honey …
let’s see if we can make some sense out of this gibberish:
“I see the leftists are attacking everything possible: If she’s not speaking to reporters, she’s ducking. If she speaks to reporters, she is an idiot.”
right BOTH times!
(see what a little punctuation can do?)

Boy is she stupid! Anyways, I think she failed to menton this!
In a world exclusive The NATIONAL ENQUIRER names GOP VP Candidate Sarah Palin’s secret lover!
No less than three members of the man’s family including one by sworn affidavit have claimed that Sarah Palin engaged in an extramarital affair with husband Todd’s former business partner, Brad Hanson.
These sources have named Hanson as Palin’s secret love, and say their affair nearly wrecked both their marriages.

SOME destruction, TERRIBLE destruction. 9-11 was of astronomical proportions destruction off the richter scales, Thousand of people died on 9-11 in NY, on the field in Pennsylvania thanks to all those brave people on board that plane, and at the Pentagon. Two wonderful Building colapsed and hundreds of Emergency personal died.

AJ…Palin believes in the Bible, which has benefitted mankind beyond imagination–stopped human sacrifice and cannib-alism thanks to missionaries, powerful influence in creating democracies, like the US, where all human life is respected (since according to the Bible, we are all created in the image of God), ended much slavery and is trying to stop current slavery, subdued the influece of true witchdoctors and other occultists, helped the poor (Salvation Army, Feed the Children, etc.), helped those in disasters (Red Cross), built hospitals and schools and started the University systems, started orphanages, etc. Obama is 20 yrs connected to a racist Marxist Liberation cult church. Obama is also connected to new age occult channelers and their channeling spirits. Pro-Obama supporter Oprah interviews an Occult channeler (Esther Hicks) and her channeling spirits (collectively called Abraham) that invaded her after using a Ouja Board. Many true witch-doctor-like channelers and their channeling spirits (some named Kuthumi, the same spirit theosophist H.P. Blavatsky channeled in the 1800s that helped start Naziism) directly support Obama, not Palin. Palin believes in the GIFTS of the HOLY SPIRIT, not channeling spirits of new age occult mediums, like Obama. Also, Obama’s relatives in Africa look like they live on the cross street of Islam Ave. and Witchdoctor Central.
