Rove: Biden is a “Big, Blowhard Doofus”
From Minnesota, we hear from Politicker ME that Karl Rove told the Maine Republican delegation to the GOP Convention that Sen. Barack Obama’s running mate, Sen. Joe Biden, D-Del., a "big, blowhard doofus."
"He’s a great American," Biden responded with more than a hint of sarcasm when asked about Rove’s comments on a Monday evening flight from Scranton, PA, to Wilmington, DE.
"Apparently he didn’t get the memo," the Delaware senator added, referring to his belief that due to Hurricane Gustav both parties should refrain from partisan politics for the moment.
"So can we call you Senator Doofus now?", a reporter asked the veep candidate.
"You can call me anything you want," Biden responded. "I learned a long time ago you can call me anything you want."
Once Gustav has passed, the Delaware lawmaker predicted that neither campaign will have any problems getting back to business on the trail.
"I don’t think people will have any trouble resuming the campaign – Karl didn’t hesitate," Biden concluded.
Notified of Rove’s comments earlier Monday, Biden spokesman David Wade said in a statement, "It’s more than a little sad that with another hurricane heading for the Gulf Coast, Karl Rove is up to the same old attack politics that he practically patented while helping dig a deep hole for our country to get out of. Americans expect better, especially at a time like this."

Rove is a class act. Always taking the high road and raising the level of political discourse.

Thanks for the chuckle of the day: Rove is the biggest blowhard doofus of all time! He must have been looking in the mirror when he said that.

Rove nailed it!
BULLSEYE!
Posted by: ChrisMeihass | September 1, 2008, 3:30 pm 3:30 pm
Last week Rove was wringing his hands over the potential political fallout of Gustav.
No concern expressed for people’s safety… only concerned about the election.
He’s the doofus.

Why can’t this man just go away. He could at least speak English or say something intelligent. Is this anyway to teach our children about politics?

Why is Rove not in jail where he belongs?

KARL ROVE:
He is the pot calling the kettle black!
Karl Rove is disgusting! I wouldn’t give anything he says credence!
Karl Rove needs to go back to his cave, and hibernate for the rest of his life!

Just like 9-11 attack on USA was carried out by Israel, Israeli guy is attributing Biden of ‘suck up israel’ for Iran getting nukes.
In reality, it is the truth. No one can deny Iran going to have nukes. That should bring peace to the middle east if Israel wants. Other option is to have nuclear war, which Iran and mullahs can afford since it affirms their belief in the Final Judgment.

“Americans expect better”…that is correct; better than Biden.
Didn’t Presidential-candidate Biden get a total of about 9,000 votes in all the 2008 Democratic primaries?

Isn’t Rove part of the outing of a CIA agent? Sounds like he needs to keep his blowhole shut.

Name calling… 2nd grade mentality… Karl Rove. Enough. Really, enough. Rove and Co. have capitalized on the the silliest and most cowardly of us. Enough. Turn your back on the hateful man and all that he stands for. It’s a new day so let’s get out there and vote like our lives depended on it. Because they do. We’re better than him so we must prove it with our numbers. We believe in ourselves, we are rational, we are fair, we are righteous and we will win. Please vote and don’t be afraid to share the facts with everyone you can. Please! The truth will set us free at last.

Gosh, the Washington Post editors have called Biden a blowhard. Maybe you all think they belong to the CIA and are evil too? LOL
Posted by: Peach | September 1, 2008, 4:07 pm 4:07 pm
OK, Joe kind of plays up the doofus thing a lil bit. Have you read his book? There’s a really touching but doofus-like story about him and his wife, Neilia and a chain. It’s part of the reason we love him here in Delaware. Biden08, McCain/Palin08
Posted by: Kitty | September 1, 2008, 4:10 pm 4:10 pm
Dee – Yes, he escaped out of Bellview this morning. His last whereabouts were reported at Times Square where he issued this statement. He’s not actually in Maine as purported. Perhaps he’ll be recruited for this Palin mess by the McCain campaign. He’ll do a better job of it if his creativity isn’t hampered by the psychotropics.

Biden is a doofus. And he’s got a big mouth. I’m sure a list is coming out of all the idiotic things he’s said. And there are plenty.
Speaking of doofuses, how about that ex DNC chair who LAUGHS about Gustav! LOL.

Rove also said that the Palin pick was ‘risky.’
Posted by: Harley | September 1, 2008, 4:33 pm 4:33 pm
Rove apparently exposed the name of an active CIA agent, which by law is treason. But Bush blocked the investigation promising an internal one which never occurred.

“Doofus” is more than a good description of Biden. Just look at him on the campaign trail – the man truly is an embarassment.
Posted by: JA | September 1, 2008, 4:42 pm 4:42 pm
Seeking attention from the awful running mate McCain was able to come up with.
Poor judgment.
Obama all the way.
Posted by: Krista | September 1, 2008, 4:46 pm 4:46 pm
And what did Rove say about the potential pick of Tim Kaine as Obama’s VP? And what is he saying about Palin as McCain’s choice?
Palin has been a Governor less time than Kaine, was a mayor of a much smaller town than Kaine and Governor is a much smaller population state than Kaine and Kaine was a bad choice for Obama, what does that make Palin? Simply risky?

Karl Rove – why shold anyone listen to a man that has given advice to one of the biggest jokes in presidental history – not ot mention that he was in fact participating in illegal tatics used by this administration. He and Rush Limbaugh – narcotic addict at large – two of the biggest embrassments to our civilazation!

The name calling is absurd, childish, and accomplishes nothing. Also both democrats and republicans need to stop taking things so personally. Jim grow up. Along with everyone else that has reduced an entire political party to a disparaging term.

American will be a kinder and better place when Karl Rove is forced to appear before legal authorities without Bush’s imperial seal of protection.
As Rove would tell other Americans. “If you have nothing to hide, testify.”

Very typical of Karl Rove. It’s disappointing that Rove works as an advisor to John McCain.

Last I heard, one doesn’t go to jail for being a “doofus.” Ignoring a Congressional supeona and endangering the safety a CIA agent might get someone in serious trouble, though…

I despise Rove, but in this instance, he is actually right. On the campaign trail with O, Biden looks like a complete doofus. And the word “doofus” is perfect because because it evokes this old, throwback, dorky guy trying to be cool, and failing miserably. Which describes Biden to a tee.

Shouldn’t it be Dufus? You gotta love it when the Dems upon hearing this, bring up Gustav and how such an uncivil and dastardly a comment can be made while the whole country watches the local Democrat machine screw up another relief operation and then blame it on the Republicans.

The best part of this campaign came when McCain hired the same guy, Tucker Eskew, who subverted his South Carolina campaign in 2000 by smearing him for having a ‘black child out of wedlock’ (actually his adopted Bangladeshi daughter).
McCain in 2000: ‘There’s a special place in hell for people like you.’
McCain in 2008: ‘You’re Hired!!’

That coming from a man who admits to being a burglar, I find amazing. Rove broke into a Democratic Headquarters once to steal stationary to send out false political mailings, he freely admits to this as the statue of limitatioins is past and he smiles when he tells the story, that is all I need to know hs a sleze bag who has no room to say a damn thing about anyone else.
