Obama’s Rabbi Relative
So, nu?
How has this escaped mention by Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., in his swings through Southern Florida?
The Jewish Daily Forward reports that one of Michelle Obama’s cousins is the most prominent African-American rabbi in the U.S., Rabbi Capers Funnye, chief rabbi of Chicago’s Beth Shalom B’nai Zaken Ethiopian Hebrew Congregation.
A shul with soul — check it out.
Michelle Obama’s paternal grandfather, Frasier Robinson Jr., was the brother of Funnye’s mother, Verdelle Robinson Funnye (born Verdelle Robinson).
"Although Funnye’s congregation describes itself as Ethiopian Hebrew," the Forward reports, "it is not connected to the Ethiopian Jews, commonly called Beta Israel, who have immigrated to Israel en masse in recent decades. It is also separate from the Black Hebrews in Dimona, Israel, and the Hebrew Israelite black supremacist group, whose incendiary street harangues have become familiar spectacles in a number of American cities. Funnye converted to Judaism and was ordained as a rabbi under the supervision of black Israelite rabbis, then went through another conversion supervised by Orthodox and Conservative rabbis. He serves on the Chicago Board of Rabbis."
In other Obama-and-the-Jews Democratic fardeiget, a group of Jewish liberals are devising a plan to help Obama win older Jews in Florida.
It’s called The Great Schlep, and I have no idea how much of this will actually come to fruition, but the plan is to hit these older Jews where they live by having their grandchildren head down to Florida over Columbus Day weekend to convince their grandparents to vote for Obama.
"If there is anyone a Jewish grandparent will listen to it’s their (brilliant, gorgeous) grandchild," writes the organizer. "TheGreatSchlep.com Web site will target, engage and activate Jews 18-24 years old — the Facebook generation. A viral Internet campaign will allow the Jewish young people, a.k.a. Schleppers, to communicate with and meet other Schleppers. Then, on Columbus Day weekend (October 10-13), Jewish kids from all over the United States will schlep to Florida to spend the weekend with their grandparents, a.k.a. Bubbie and Zadie. Organized dinners at Chinese restaurants, pool parties, rec room discussion groups, etc. will faciliate (sic) intergenerational pro-Obama discussions. The kids will arrive in Florida with the facts about Obama — facts that will counteract the false rumors many of their grandparents have heard."
Perhaps Rabbi Funnye can be brought on board.

Obama Backs Off Birth Control Battle?
I already new about Michelle’s rabbi cousin and have been sending his information to my “on the fence” Jewish friends as a way to help them see that Obama is a friend to Israel.
I found this out by googling rabbi and Obama. It wasn’t that hard…what took the media so long?

Why is it ok to hate Muslims?
I don’t get it. Even Barack Obama often makes negative remarks on them (only sometimes qualifiying with “extremist”).
I think people will look back on this election and see a lot of discrimiation still alive in the US:
1. ok to hate Muslims
2. ok to be an ageist
3. ok to be racist against Caucasians
4. ok to be a sexist

There’s something I notice about NObama in every speech he delivers it is heavily covered by the media; “he’s close and yet so far.” He connects with the people for a few minutes like a good lecturer but once a person leaves the lecture room, they can’t remember a damn thing what the lecturer talked about. He also talks down on people, he puts a distance between him and his audience, like a professor to his students. NObama cannot relate to a common man but he expects you to believe whatever he says and you have no right to question him. He made him self into an icon, untouchable in so many ways. But the more people know about him, the less they like him; due to the fact NObama is speaking in another world, he uses a language foreign to a lot of people. It is English but the way he talks, makes you feel inferior, you’re beneath him. That is my summation of NObama.
NO WAY NO HOW NO VOTE NOBAMA
Women are the majority and we REJECT obama!! WE will protest the Undemocratic party this election and N.O.T. Nothing on top of the undemocratic ticket..empty. NOBAMA!!

It sounds to me as if this is another ageism thing. Ageism going both ways. A new ism. Is the Obama campaign now concerned that people with the wisdom of the ages need their grandchildren to help them make decisions? People are never smarter than when they are about 18, right? Older people know this.

First of all, let’s keep in mind that this is Michelle’s cousin. Second, let’s remember that her cousin is not the first African-American who has converted to Judaism. Now having said all of that, I don’t see what the problem is. This man has decided to exercise his right to select and then support a candidate. I don’t see anything strange in that. I am quite sure that McBush is using every avenue available to gain support. Why is it wrong for Obama to do the same????

Founding Member of the Keating Five
Back in the old days, defendants in famous trials got numbers — the Chicago Eight, the Gang of Four, the Dave Clark Five, the Daytona 500. McCain was one of the “Keating Five,” congressmen investigated on ethics charges for strenuously helping convicted racketeer Charles Keating after he gave them large campaign contributions and vacation trips.
Charles Keating was convicted of racketeering and fraud in both state and federal court after his Lincoln Savings & Loan collapsed, costing the taxpayers $3.4 billion. His convictions were overturned on technicalities; for example, the federal conviction was overturned because jurors had heard about his state conviction, and his state charges because Judge Lance Ito (yes, that judge) screwed up jury instructions. Neither court cleared him, and he faces new trials in both courts.)
Though he was not convicted of anything, McCain intervened on behalf of Charles Keating after Keating gave McCain at least $112,00 in contributions. In the mid-1980s, McCain made at least 9 trips on Keating’s airplanes, and 3 of those were to Keating’s luxurious retreat in the Bahamas. McCain’s wife and father-in-law also were the largest investors (at $350,000) in a Keating shopping center; the Phoenix New Times called it a “sweetheart deal.”

Actual quote from “The Audacity of Hope” [pg. 261]: Of course, not all my conversations in immigrant communities follow this easy pattern. In the wake of 9/11, my meetings with Arab and Pakistani Americans, for example, have a more urgent quality, for the stories of detentions and FBI questioning and hard stares from neighbors have shaken their sense of security and belonging. They have been reminded that the history of immigration in this country has a dark underbelly; they need specific assurances that their citizenship really means something, that America has learned the right lessons from the Japanese internments during World War II, and that I will stand with them should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.

From the Chicago Defender:
“In America, nearly a third of African-American men will enter state or federal prison during their lives. Too many will be lost in the criminal justice system and end up in prison, poverty, and unemployment. And in some cases, the lack of job training and support programs means that those who are released could fail to become fully rehabilitated, and may go on to commit more crimes.
That’s why I am fighting to pass the Second Chance Act, which would support faith- and community-based organizations working with state and local authorities to give former prisoners a second chance at a meaningful life. The Second Chance Act makes funding available for transitional jobs programs and housing, supportive health services, and educational needs. Organizations such as the Safer Foundation and Heartland Alliance have demonstrated success giving formerly incarcerated people in Illinois an opportunity for a second chance. And the Second Chance Act would ensure that the federal government does its part by supporting reentry programs like these that help make our communities safer.”– Barack Obama

Obama can give a speech, and talk a lot of people into voting for him and believing his words. But he can’t fool all the people.
Obama wants to change the government. His best life long radical anti-American friends, Wright, Ayers, Rezko, Khalid, Plfeger, Said, to name a few. They all blame the government for something. So does Obama in every speech.
We can be positive that heir influence upon the Obama over a period of 20 years have something to do with that. When your friends set off bombs and wish they did more, have no remorse about it. You should worry.
When your friends Scream out God D”m America, you should worry. When your friends are under a federal investigation you should worry, not get them to assist in buying a house.
When your friends donate dirty money to your campaign and you find out during the court case, you should worry and give the money to the courts to give back to the rightful owners not drop it like a hot potato into charity like you have had experience laundering money for a long time. That all is worse than Bad Judgment That is inexcusable Judgment. The ditching of the money should be illegal.

OBAMA’S CAMPAIGN IS IMPLODING:
And that is exactly what Obama is being forced to deal with. First his startling and lofty rhetoric grew stale from overuse. And now his once engaging (for some) ideas are being overtaken by events. His call for quick retreat from Iraq, overtaken by the surge and the smell of victory, has forced him to reverse field and admit the surge has been an unexpected (by him) success. Then the declining economy forced him this week to back away from his soak-the-rich tax increases for fear of further damaging the economy.

Obama won’t release his grades from Columbia University. He did not graduate from there with honors. Which means he did not really have the grades to get into Harvard Law school, even if they used affirmative action as a cause, he did not have the grades. Wonder how he got in. Shameful

dunlike, I apologize for all the idiots we have in this country. They have been suckered by the liars again. This is how Bush won in 2000 and 2004, by the same tricks and lies.
Interesting how half of this country is so willing to put the ignorant and uneducated in top positions in this country. Most of them are stuck on stupid as race is their driving factor.

JaN 2008: “Hillary’s aides point to Obama’s extremely progressive record as a community organizer, state senator and candidate for Congress, his alliances with “left-wing” intellectuals in Chicago’s Hyde Park community, and his liberal voting record on criminal defendants’ rights as subjects for examination.”
OBAMA SUPPORTER:
“THIS is why she’s (hILLARY) losing more ground every day. The nation wants a more liberal, progressive president. Old school. The fact that Clinton points to these facts as evidence of something wrong with Obama only proves how out of touch she is–and how far to the middle she and Bill Clinton forced the Democratic Party in the 1990s.”

Clinton and Obama’s stances are almost identical.
the only way Clinton was close to mccain was on Iraq.
and she admitted now that was the wrong view.
so Mccain 2008 is so far in the wrong and opposite direction of Clinton
you would have to have not much character to vote for him if you agreed with Clinton even 70 % of the time.

2000 – media elites get called out
President Bush
2003 -media elites get called out
we go after wmd that Iraq has lose billions and more American lives than we lost on sept 11…never mind the over half million lives that weren’t American. that John mcCain called for us to go into and after the week after september 11.
2002-2007 media elites get called out while Gramm, Black and other sr advisors who will come to write McCain’s policies… are pushing for deregulation in the banking and energy industries.
2004 – media elites get called out and we re elect George W. Bush, Dick cheney Don Rumsfeld, Karl Rove, (as Powell leaves this scary administration behind) and Gonzales.
2005 – media elites get called out
massive amounts of people and property and dollars go out the window while they distract from their inept knowledge and grasp of the screw ups with FEMA and hiring /choosing Brown to run it…
2006/2007 media elites get called out
and Libby Cheney and the rest call out Russert…for being involved and telling them the identity of a CIA operative.
2006/2007 media elites get called out while we first see signs of ignoring a failing Afghanistan
2008… media elites get called out while Mccain lies about numerous issues publicly…and he throws the country under the bus choosing a back up for himself that quite possible is so ill equipped and unproven that they put up the same tactics the same wall of science…
all the while risking the fate of our nation on a roulette spin with a woman who can’t tellus any details of the pillar of polivcy that shaped the last administration (her own team) and the history that got us to where we are now.
yes it is the media elites fault that we are here.

John McCain supports sending jobs overseas.. He helped Airbus win the contract to build America’s Airforce tanker contract costing 1000′s of jobs and up to 5 billion dollars. The democrats blocked the contract and demanded the contract be re tendered.
John McCain’s campaign director is a lobbyist for Airbus!

So both Obama and Palin have the SAME view. You’ll notice Obama is NOT saying he would do anything different.

No they are saying that there are some things a VP candidate should never say on live tv: possibly going to war with Russia is one of them. Simply expressing a commitment to honour NATO treaties is far less inflammatory but it carries the same message. It’s all about nuance you see, something pitbulls aren’t given to.

The birth certificates I have seen on different websites are certificates of birth not documents with the state seal. Wonder if they turned the document over there would be footprints? It could sure be verified with them.

Most of you here have not travel out of the shores of your little state just like Sarah Palin. The truth is, the truth about Sarah Palin is the beginning of wisdom on so many Americans, it is like asking me a Political Scientist to run Wall street.

It is being reported that the lawsuit against Obama can go forward as there is probable cause that the birth certificate was forged. Hmm. Is this the October surprise?

Please people…stop the insanity! This election is about real issues. We have huge problems in this country and all the McCain supporters can talk about is Obama’s birth certificate. If it wasn’t authentic don’t you think that the media would be all over it? The intelligence (or lack thereof)of the American people is really scary.
Posted by: Marion | September 14, 2008, 3:25 pm 3:25 pm
all the birth certificate talk is just that talk.
me, personally, i feel that the constitution needs to be amended so that any american citizen regardless of original place of birth should be eligible to run for president. it’s one of those parts of the constitution i feel is unfair just like once the constitution recognized slaves as property only.
either way, obama’s born in hawaii…john mccain is born in panama…BOTH are still eligible regardless…end of story

Obama is proof positive in favor of affirmative action Obama graduated from Harvard with a Juris Doctor (J.D.) magna cum laude. He did this in FOUR years. And he did this while being elected president of it’s prestigious Law Review. Affirmative might have helped him to GET into Harvard; it did NOT help him to graduate Magna cum Laude and being elected as president of it’s Law Review.
Root is a blatant racist.
Sarah won a college scholarship based on her looks. And it took Sarah SIX years and SIX colleges and universities to graduate with a B.S in communications-journamalism.
Where are her grades? Why does she refuse to release them? Why did she need six schools? Was she forced to leave them? How did she get her grades? Answer me that.

It´s a really nonsense saying that Palin would lead us to a war with Russia. She only stated what is true: all countries belonging to the NATO are obliged to intervene when one of its members is attacked.
The russian fleet has its base in the peninsula of Crimea (Ukraine), a territory with 70% russian population. So what will happen if its inhabitants want to join Russia? will the NATO allow it? will they create a new artificial state like Kossovo?
Let Mr. America community organizer explains his plans towards Ukraine and Crimea.

“Two Years of a Democrat controled Congress has wrecked worse havoc on the economy than 9/11 and Katrina combined.”
My favorite Republican excuse for the state of the economy. Notice how the eight years of Idiot-Bush’s administration is divided into two periods 2000-06 and 2006-08. Because congress was democratic in the second period all Idiot-Bush’s failures for those years can simply be offloaded there.
The first period contains two catastrophes. The first of them has been exploited shamelessly by Idiot-Bush and his gang so its no surprise that it’s now being used to explain why the country is on the rocks. The second of them was simply ignored by Idiot-Bush while it occured (‘Cake George?’, ‘Thank you John’) and its only real use now is to explain why Bush failed.
Great stuff, keep it up. Hopefully the next POTUS and his supporters will know what it means to step up and take responsibility for their failures.

In contrast to Michelle Obama’s extended family ties to Judaism, it’s worth mentioning a Palin quote from the RNC . She brought up a quote to the effect of- “We grow good people in our small towns . . .” The quote her speechwriter used came from the writings of Westbrook Pexler, who was so virulently anti-Semitic that even the John Birch Society banned him as an author in their publications. I elect not to give any examples of his Jewish characterizations. I think Pat Buchanan, known for being anti-Semitic, also used the same quote in one of his books. I think the choice of author speaks loudly of the Palin handlers and image makers. It’s beyond ironic that anti-Semitism would be mixed in with an appeal to American populism by a vice presidential contender.

Notice you just name call instead of telling the truth about economic record of George Bush. Post 9/11 the economy crashed and due to George Bush and a GOP controled Congress the economy was able to recover. Post Katrina, the economy crashed agains and once again due to George Bush and a GOP controlled Congress the economy was able to recover. The fact is the economy has tanked in the last two years due to the policies of a Democratic controlled Congress. Democrats are against drilling for new oil which have caused gas prices to sky rocket. Democrats have balloned the amount of earmarks whiched have caused the deficit to sky rocket. Obama alone requested almost a billion dollars in earmarks. The Democrats encouraged banks giving loans to people who could not afford them causing the housing crisis. Obama is a know supporter of ACORN which was instrumental in demanding loans for people with bad credit. I could go on and on but the public knows this is true since Congress approval rating is 9%

George W. Bush had a Republican Congress for 6 years and did nothing to help middle and lower class Americans. The problems that are manifesting today started long before the Congressional majority became Democrat. And since the Democrats got the majority the Republicans in Congress along with the Republican President have done everything they could possibly do to keep the Democrats from making any progress. Once again, the Republicans don’t want to take responsibility for their actions. Hasn’t America had enough?

JayNZ, With Saddan still in power, as Obama would have it, the US would be dealing with TWO enemies of the US with Nukes or about to have Nukes Further, Iran and Iraq would be thumbing their nose at the US because they would know for sure the US was just a “paper tiger” like Osama said the US is. The US has not had another attack since 9/11 in part due to the fact our enemies now know the US will use force if neccessary to protect our homeland. If Obama is elected, start building your bomb shelters because Obama has broadcasted to all the world he will declare defeat in Iraq and let Al Qaeda declare victory. I tend to believe Pelosi and Dean are backtracking with their choice of Obama as well. They, as well as Obama, were served with the lawsuit papers last week regarding his legal status. Read the law people – up until 1984, anyone born to a parent or parents that were not US Citizens is not a US Citizen. i.e. Obama is not a US Citizen and therefore has no legal right to run in this election. He knows it. DNC knows it. Yet they hide it from his supporters.
He has far too many connections to the likes of Wright and Ayers that someone that takes Earmarks for their state or didn’t travel overseas (like he only recently did) looks much much better to many of us.
I do not want a non-US Citizen tied to terrorists and other dirty people running my country!!
It is sad. Really really sad that he is pretending to be one person to the Americans and is hiding who he truly is.

Afganistan proved to the world that the US was not just a paper tiger. Cathching Bin Laden would have really proved it (7 years and counting…).
Iraq was a war of opportunity rather than necessity; also given their history and religous outlook a nuclear armed Iraq and Iran would be more likely to destory each other.
Finally the idea that the US has not been attacked since 9/11 is because Al Qaeda fears repurcussions is false. Look at Hamas in Israel or Hezbollah in Lebanon- they know that after a terrorist attack on Israel the response by Israel will be overwhelming – but they still go ahead regardless. Al Qaeda don’t care either – they just haven’t been clever enough.

gluvnast, Saddam’s files, discovered after the US invasion, clearly outlined that Saddam had every intention of renewing his WMD program. Saddam thought he could go ahead with his WMD program without fear of the US attacking because he wrongly thought the US would not invade Iraq. Saddam would of had plenty of money to develop his WMDs with all the money he was getting from the fraud driven UN oil for food program.
As to Iran, since the hostage crisis back during the Carter years, Iran has been an enemy of the US and has always had a goal of developing nukes. So again, if the US had not invaded Iraq, the US would now be dealing with two enemies of the US with nukes or about to have nukes. Further, neither Iran or Iraq would be fearful of a US attack due to the fact that the US backed down on invading Iraq even though Iraq had violated over 19 UN resolutions, was shooting at US planes that were flying over Iraq as per our treaty wih Saddam and sending money to Hamas.
Osama said the US was a “paper tiger” and if the US had backed down, as Saddam expected the US to do and Obama wanted the US to do, the US would be living in a much more dangerous world right now with emboldened enemies who have no fear of attack from us. So if Obama gets elected start building your bomb shelters because Obama’s foreign policy means a victory for Al Qaeda, a defeat for the US and a bunch of enemies that know they have nothing to fear from the US. Just wonder whose side Obama is on?
Posted by: Sam | September 14, 2008, 5:35 pm 5:35 pm
JayNZ, According to your logic, if your buddy Obama had been in power instead of Bush and not invaded Iraq, a war between Iran and Iraq would have occured bringing chaos to the Middle East and a stoppage of oil which would have caused a world wide depression and ultimately World War III. Thanks for confirming the fact to me that Obama is a very dangerous guy whose foreign policy will cause more war, not less. So again, if Obama gets elected, start building your bomb shelters.

Sam: “Saddam had every intention of renewing his WMD program”
Intention?
That’s it?
Do you understand what you are saying there? And it’s implications? Somebody has “intentions” and hundreds of thousands of people have to die, a country in ruins, and no solution for a very volatile region with no clear path towards stability?
All because somebody had ‘intentions’?
After Gulf War I, Saddam and his regime was contained. Saddam might have had ‘intentions’ as much as he wanted, but he had NO MEANS to accomplish them.

At 72 and in poor health, if McCain were to be elected President he would not finish out his foirst term. So basically the election is Palin-Bush vs Obama-Biden. Palin is a creationist. That means every single thing that happens in her day is based on myth, not fact and she would rule the country in that fashion. Of course, the current Bush-McCain administration has also ruled the country on myth and not fact- but you can see where that has left us: a downsized military that has been sold to the lowest bidder, a totally inept Federal government that can’t even come to the rescue of American citizens. Anyone remember this: The Iraqis will welcome us with flowers and open arms.”? The Bush Doctrine never had a chance because it spelled failure from the beginning.

Polderboy, “After Gulf War I…”
The 1991 Gulf War was never declared over. We were actually in a cease fire based on several conditions to which Saddam Hussein never complied (in spite of agreeing to do so back in 1991). The UN Security Council spent 12 years diplomatically attempting to force Saddam Hussein’s compliance. When all else failed, President Bush rescinded the cease fire and resumed the Gulf War.

Wow – HPBoston should really read the US Constitution. I don’t know where he/she got the idea that someone born in the US must be the child of 2 citizens in order to be a citizen. Very bizarre. It is true that a child born overseas needs an American parent in order to be a US citizen, but if born on US soil, that is sufficient, and was pre-1984 so I don’t where you got this.

S.Albertson,
The link you posted is Obama’s “Fight the Smear” website. Hardly a neutral source of information, is it?
If you had studied the lawsuit, you would know that it consists of a number of complaints.
I find the analyses credible, although the first part may be based on circumstantial evidence and hard to prove.
But Philip J. Berg stands on solid ground regarding Part 3, i.e. fraud. He has a copy of Obama’s Illinois State Bar Registration and Public Disciplinary Record, where Obama put “none” for the question “Full former names.”
Posted by: Natali2_6 | September 14, 2008, 6:48 pm 6:48 pm
CCBoston, just as a clarification, your statement is true for someone being a “natural born” citizen. You don’t need to have an American parent in order to become a naturalized American citizen. Of course one must be a “natural born” citizen in order to become President of the United States.

Karl, if you are (or anyone else is) looking for the REAL hope, for the REAL way, then seek Jesus Christ for the REAL change in your life. THAT IS THE REAL TRUTH!
John 14:6 — “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but my me.”

I have discovered that who you are related to has absolutely nothing to do with how you form your values. The assumptions of a loving extended family where everybody embraces everybody else’s belief systems is —- well — it’s a fantasy. Some of the relatives I really liked (through marriage) – divorced the blood relatives; — some of the people who are in the family by biology — well — metaphorically speaking — we by virtue of time and distance and conflicts of seemingly insurmountable differences in values — are not
speaking. It follow that it may be handy to SAY you have a rabbi in the famiy — or a priest — or a minister — or an athiest – but it doesn’t follow that you will make decisions that embrace this relatives values – or the countries that they embrace diplomatic relations with.
In otherwords, generalizations are dangerous.

SCARY SCENARIO FOR USA !!!!!!!
MCCAIN WANTS TO WIN AN ELECTION AT WHAT EVER COST EVEN IF IT MEANS LOSING GREAT COUNTRY LIKE U.S.A !!
MCCAIN YOU’RE 72 YRS OLD AND TWO TIME CANCER SURVIVOR HOW CAN YOU PICK SARAH PALIN AS VP YOU’RE BRAIN DEAD …. SHE DOESN’T REPRESENT ALL INTELLIGENT WOMAN OF AMERICA..
Thanks Hillary !!!!!!!!!!
I am with you. Guess what though if McCain thinks that Sarah Palin represent all women including Hillary’s fan he is mistaken.
Since when is “Hockey Mom” a qualification it seems that every woman have a choice What to do with their lives .I’m sorry in order to compete with the big boys you need to work hard and educate yourself.
SARAH PALIN is disgrace to INTELLIGENT women of America. Look the way she answer questions. She is very embarrassing. Every thing is written for her.
You want to be VP to this great nation of AMERICA!!!!!
Hillary ____ Yale Law School

It’s insulting to think that Palin represents me. I’m an intelligent woman in my 20s and I know that she and I do not share any of the same values. I backed McCain but am now backing Obama for this pick.

Nemariam, your argument that Sarah Palin doesn’t represent all intelligent woman of America is bogus. Of course she doesn’t, just like Sen. Obama doesn’t represent all intelligent men. In fact he doesn’t even represent all intelligent African-American men.
No matter how you slice it, Gov. Palin is MORE qualified than Sen. Obama. Gov. Palin may not have any foreign policy experience, but neither does Sen. Obama. Gov. Palin has executive experience. Sen. Obama does not. Gov. Palin has owned her own business so she understands what the average small business is going through. Sen. Obama has not and does not (and he wants to raise taxes for many of them). Sen. Obama’s campaign may have 2,500 paid employees and have a budget of some $350 million, but Gov. Palin is currently responsible for 25,000 employees and has annual budget of $10 Billion.
Your VP candidate acknowledged that he was not the best candidate for his position. And Sen. Biden brings more of the same ol’ Washington ways to the ticket, which is counter to Sen. Obama’s claim for change. On the other hand, Gov. Palin has energized and unified the Republican Party. Sen. Obama has yet to totally unify the Democratic Party. In fact there are still millions of disenchanted Democrats. Especially since learning that Sen. Obama never vetted Sen. Clinton.

Mary said this: It’s hard to believe(but great)that the left is playing the age card heavily now against McCain; They are alienating a very large demographic of voters(50+)” I am over 50 and I can tell you that upon finding Palin as a potential VP, I am terrified that McCain (who on certain issues isnt too conservtive to stomach) picked a really scary nothing headed former beauty queen/hockey mom/pit bull, who is eminently promotable,as seen recently because she is a blank canvase…. I was ,upon learning of this incredibly revealing opportunistic pick, alarmed concerning procession of such an old man. Are we to bet on his health holding? If Palin, heaven forbid, becomes POTUS, she will be left to depend soley on advisors, who are of course unelected. Yes, Palin is ready for the dustbin, and if she and McCain win, so is the USA. A further point, this campaign has become role reversed… its Palin/McCain, so lets ber clear, even the Republican party has all but announced that McCain will not finish his term by pushing Palin to the fore… A small freudian slip, isnt it ?

Apparently one person CAN represent an entire demographic.
If only the pollsters could find them…
Alas….

Curtis wrote: “…she (Gov. Palin) will be left to depend soley on advisors…” Interesting that you would say that since Sen. Obama requires 300 advisors to help him run his campaign.
