The Note: Obama, Palin Form Center of Race

ABC News’ Rick Klein reports in Wednesday’s Note: Perhaps Gov. Sarah Palin is still a normal human politician — as opposed to a superhero/phenomenon/celebrity (irony alert!) who is immune to the whims of such trivial matters as national media coverage.

But as she returns to her native Alaska on Wednesday — with swarming Democrats and out-of-town reporters making the landscape a tad less familiar — she is a full-blown sensation whose appeal seems to grow as the country gets to know her — good, bad, and everything in between.

If it’s The Mom vs. The Messiah — what does recent American electoral history tell you about who might have the edge among the Wal-Mart crowd? One of Us, or One of Them?

(Will a campaign that beat one female candidate because it understood how the Democratic base thinks, wind up losing to another female candidate because it doesn’t understand how the electorate, as a whole, thinks?)

(And will Sen. Barack Obama and Sen. Joe Biden fall into tabloid traps at the very time they need to lock down female voters?)

Read the rest of The Note — and get all the latest on the 2008 election, Congress, the White House and the wide world of politics every day — from Rick Klein by bookmarking this link.

The campaign has grown sharper — and there’s no putting lipstick on this fact: “The emergence of Sarah Palin as a political force in the presidential race has left many top Democrats fretting that, just two weeks after their convention ended on an emotional high, Barack Obama’s campaign has suddenly lost its stride,” Peter Wallsten and Janet Hook write in the Los Angeles Times.

“Some Democrats are now worried about the perils of Obama’s strategy, saying that his campaign, instead of engaging the Alaska governor, should avoid any move that draws more attention to her and could enhance her appeal among the white, blue-collar voters who remain cool to Obama’s candidacy,” they write.

“Democrats are beginning to worry about losing the presidential election,” Bloomberg’s Heidi Przybyla writes. “Their best week in four years,” says Rep. Artur Davis, D-Ala., of the Republicans’ latest stretch.

Adds Przybyla: “Democrats said Obama can respond by capitalizing on his significant lead on issues, particularly the economy and health care, including among many independents, who have become the chief target of both campaigns now that the candidates have locked in their parties’ nominations.”

This is the time Obama hoped to be defining himself — his campaign book, “Change We Can Believe In,” has just started shipping out, and is rocketing up the Amazon charts.

The upside of insularity: There’s no panic in Obamaland. The downside of insularity: There’s no panic in Obamaland.

It is tough to beat pigs like Karl Rove who wallow in the mud and the media refuses to call them on it. McCains strategy is simply to lie, lie and lie, and play the media like the cowardly rats that they are.

I’m tired of hearing about Obama’s problem with white, blue-colloar voters. I’m white collar, college-educated, under 50, and earn more than $50,000 a year, and I have big problems with Obama. Most of my girlfriends fit the same profile as me, and we are all voting for McCain. Barack Obama does not have a lock on the so-called “educated” vote, as Andrea Mitchell, one of the Obama-whores@ at MSNBC would like people to believe.

I am also tired of stereotypes in this election.I am college educated professional and absolutely saw through the empty suit of Obama months back. The media especially the defunct and despicable MSNBC can live in it’s Matthews/Olbermann la la land.

Palin promotes general after he changes his stance on her experience
Last Wednesday, Maj. Gen. Craig Campbell suggested to the Boston Globe that Gov. Sarah Palin’s role as commander of the state’s National Guard was largely ceremonial, thus blunting attempts by the McCain campaign to assert she had foreign policy experience

Journalists are describing very well what they are observing and hearing since these elections have started. The reality is that these working classes (blue colors as Hillary uses to call them) have not been enthusiastic about Obama’s campaign and his candidacy. They may have their reasons which they know and they are the only ones who know these reasons and we are certain they are not about issues confronting us on daily basis. God save America from McPalin. God bless America and God bless Obama. OBAMA/BIDEN08

Once again the Obamaphiles don’t know how to treat a lady. Who is the most sexist/racist? If the last year is any indication, the DNC hands down! McCain and Palin just have to sit there and let the DNC implode. Only the media can save Obama know, and don’t think they won’t just like they did with McCain when he was about to lose. You actually think YOU influence this election, HA! Think again “my friends”, cause you don’t! Reporters repeat what they are told, and you repeat what reporters well you. Facts and “truth” are irrelivant. Haven’t you figured this out by now???

Palin arranged it so that every Alaskan received $200 and $1200 royalty checks on oil revenues. Where do you think that money comes from? Think about it the next time you fill up.
After Palin supported the Bridge to Nowhere, it was denounced by Congress as the most blatantly wasteful earmark…at which point she withdrew her support. But she kept the money, which came from all of us, the taxpaying American public.
Oink, oink.

What is odd is that the MSM that is all over Alaska has never been to Chicago. Obama does education, but not one reporter lets the pubic know about Obama’s horrible record on education and the disastrous state of the Chicago public education system. Do you think reporters will get out of the Wasilla library and do a stopover in Chicago? Or are they worried that Chicago will require a bullet proof vest due to the 75 school children murdered there in the last 18 months?

Argh! love the name! I am not sure that anyone is mistreating Sarah Palin. If she were a man the same things would be being said minus the kid issues and lipstick. She is gonna have to get a tougher hide if she is willing to play with the big boys. Also a news speech would help. Hillary fought the race well and lost fair and square. So please get off it. There is no way with her husband being the former President that Hill could be VP and Obama could be President. Bill would more than likely stage a take over of the oval office. Come on now reasonable. Imagine Obama, Hillary and Bill all fighting to be President.

Surprise, surprise! Carrie and Vic cannot say how this country will be better under McCain. They can’t say it because he is planning to continue almost everything that Bush has done over the past eight years — which has led us to this complete mess we are in. So instead, please lets talk about how evil Barack is, let’s denigrate him as a human being, let’s call him every nasty thing we can. The “Trash” Talk Express! Because no one can support McCain on the issues — the Bush approach has shown not to work– let’s ignore them and talk about any except policy and direction for the country. I can see how McCain is changing the tone in America — new levels of hatred and mantra chanting (“Empty suit” “day one” “under the bus”). This country will not move forward if all we do is spend our times screaming at each other. Be practical — look for solutions.

Nothing “odd” about it at all. Obama has been fully vetted. Since McCain didn’t take the time to check out Ms Palin, WE the public want to know more. The journalist are just doing their jobs. If you don’t like it, oh well, complain to McCain.

Posted by: Chuck | September 10, 2008, 9:19 am 9:19 am

If McCain wins, Palin WILL become the first female President. If McCain becomes ill or dies, of course she is sworn in. If he survives the term or even two terms, she then runs in 2016 as a sitting VP. Hillary will be finished in either case. If you embittered Clinton supporters want to do Hillary’s career in, go ahead and vote for McCain. You’ll get the job done.

The Rope-a-Dope revisited!
The republicans have brought back the Rope-a-Dope, sports fans, and are using it the same way legendary boxer Mohammed Ali did against the heavily-favored George Foreman in the October 1974 heavyweight championship fight coined “The Rumble in the Jungle”, when Ali employed a brilliant strategy and leaned on the ropes for seven rounds while Foreman swung away with all his might until he had nothing left. Ali withstood the onslaught and came off the ropes in the eighth, knocked out Foreman, and won the fight.
The presidential campaign has developed some similarities to that legendary fight:
Sarah Palin is basically leaning on the ropes while some of the media, left-wingers, and even the once heavily-favored Barack Obama himself obsessively throw every punch they can think of in an attempt to cast doubt on her, and she’s not even running for president. She’s stealing show, and Obama and his campaign have been suckered into the Rope-a-Dope. In October, like Ali did in October of ’74, Palin just might come off the ropes and score a knockout.

John Feehery, a Republican strategist, said the campaign is entering a stage in which skirmishes over the facts are less important than the dominant themes that are forming voters’ opinions of the candidates.
“The more the New York Times and The Washington Post go after Sarah Palin, the better off she is, because there’s a bigger truth out there and the bigger truths are she’s new, she’s popular in Alaska and she is an insurgent,” Feehery said. “As long as those are out there, these little facts don’t really matter.”

first off, most of you people really don’t understand what your talking about. Because most of you seem to be republicans. I don’t understand how you can be such a idiot to support a party that has brought our country down for 8 years. On top of that, conservatives really don’t do much for people. They just do things for themselves. You can talk about how obama will give “handouts” to people because he is a supposed “socialist”. But just to let you know, alot of those people could use the help and a little inspiration. Most of the rich conservatives in this country don’t even know what it means to survive poverty and prosper, something that republicans think everybody can do regardless of there situation. See Obama can supply hope for a fight on poverty and mccain can supply a hope of getting another hummer for a rich oil boss.

I thought this was a presidential election campaign. Are we really going to vote Obama vs. Palin?
“Momism,” “apple pie,” “just like you,” espoused by a good looking woman in a short skirt seems to be what the voting public wants at the moment, which indicates how afraid people are.
Will the American voting public vote for a vice-presidential running mate who is good with quips and practices reactionism vs. a presidential candidate who speaks with an educated and thoughtful voice about real problems, who outlines new remedies for the problems, and who also admits that not every problem has an immediate cure?
And where is McCain? Hiding behind the proverbial “mama’s skirts”!

This race is between Barack Obama and John McCain. Sarah Palin is a political neophyte and a distraction. The sooner everyone wakes up to that, the better. Meanwhile, McCain’s campaign is ridiculous in crying foul day after day when Obama and Biden raise policy issues. They make lying groundless attacks, and they complain if McCain/Palin are even indirectly criticized. It’s sickening. McCain deserves to lose just because of how his campaign is being run.

I hope that this interview with Sarah Palin actually has some substance. Voters deserved better than this. We have under 60 days until the election and the vice presidential candidate has not given 1 interview (besides People magazine).
I actually worked on McCain’s campaign in 2000 and am beginning to be embarassed by that fact. He has shown himself to be a sexist….we can’t ask tough questions, everything gets taken the wrong way, the media can’t ask questions, and he has gotten really down in the mud. Women everywhere should be outraged with McCain, not Obama. Time to pony up…do we really want to be treated as equals? All 3 other candidates have been looked at closely, and its time she gets the same treatment.

The interview with Sarah Palin is going to be a smashing success for the McCain campaign because the bottom line is that Sarah Palin resonates with the American people. While some viewers are going to be all about the issues, those aren’t the voters McCain is going for. In the end, the people are going to vote for the ticket that they feel they understand the most, and who appears to have the Moxie to get things turned around in Washington. Here’s a news flash for anyone who might have missed it. McCain and Palin have Moxie in abundance. Obama and Biden by comparison appear to take themselves too seriously and come across as tired, whining, and just more of the same old politics as usual.
McCain will win in November, and he’ll win by a landslide.

Hard to get much done when King George suddenly vetoes everything that comes across his desk. And after six years of never vetoing a thing. Weird… almost like it was more about strategy than the best interest of America.
Wait, wait what am I saying? This would never happen from the “Country-First” Republicans- maybe he just lost his “American Hat” and couldn’t figure out how to think in the interest of the people he serves. Insulting Hillary’s supporters is a tactic when one has exhausted his “vocabulary”. No one should insult a voter because of his choice in this election. Palin shouldn’t be attacked either. She has brought life to a tired campaign. MSM continue to spin for Obama. Obama seems to forget, he’s running against McCain. Does Biden represent change? Maybe the Obamanites should try “honey” to attract Clinton’s supporters.

Wm. J. LePetomaine – I might agree with you except for the Bradley effect. (Look it up if you don’t know what I’m talking about – there is an interesting article about it on Wikipedia)
It could very well be tight in the polling going into the election, but all of those states that are barely leaning toward Obama or that are too close to call will break for McCain on election day.
Besides, Obama painted himself as unwilling to change when he picked a crusty old DC veteran as his running mate. It completely invalidated his theme of change – he can’t even change from the same old politics that has run this country for so long.

Former Clinton supporters are not going to vote McCain when they get into the privacy of the voting booth, except maybe for West Virginia. Then again, it IS West Virginia. When you go there, you turn your watch back to 1950.

Posted by: Wm. J. LePetomaine | September 10, 2008, 9:54 am 9:54 am

Wm. J., you said, “just to let you know, alot of those people could use the help and a little inspiration.” This is more true today than almost any previous time in our history.
Before retiring, and up to today, I’ve watched the American worker work longer hours, accept fewer benefits, take more harassment on the job, and barely be able to make ends meet at home.
I’ve seen the minimum wage earner, and those with fewer than 40 hours per week (the new business owner’s way of saving having to pay benefits), end up on the street and under bridges.
My town just recently sent a warning to all of the homeless non-sheltered people that they were going to be rousted out of their usual places by the local police because our city’s people (with jobs and homes) were becoming irritated that the homeless were still around. I guess it doesn’t dawn on them that so many homeless is a result of a government in power that McCain plans to continue.
McCain doesn’t even talk about the homeless. I wonder how many he could house in his seven (or is it nine) homes? Good grief.
Maybe Sarah will get rid of John’s planes. You think?!

Wm. J. LePetomaine – I couldn’t disagree more. The game plan completely changed on September 11, 2001 – right after Bush took office, but even in spite of that and all that followed, the country was still in ok shape until about 2 years ago. That’s when we saw a monumental shift in oil prices and when the economy of this nation really started to turn. There is no one to “thank” for that other than Pelosi/Reid. The people voted Democrat in 2006 as a referendum on Bush’s presidency, and they got exactly what they asked for…only they didn’t really know what they were asking for, did they?

Well as long as he’s ahead in the electoral college (which he is, even when including polls taken post-Palin), why should Obama worry? As electionprojection.com said:
“State polls in blue states are now showing a tightening race, but I’ve yet to see a poll where McCain actually overtakes Obama in a state won by John Kerry in 2004. That fact reinforces my hunch that McCain is still fighting just to make this a race.”
http://www.electoral-vote.com/
http://www.electionprojection.com/index.shtml
So considering that the excitement and hoopla coming out of the GOP convention dies down a little, then McCain may well have reached his highwater mark, and it still won’t be enough to beat Obama.

Carrie – You must be a Bush/Quail supporter from the eighties. Just as the tax payers were not going tohave to pay for the fictionalMurphy Brown’s fictional baby, we are not going to be paying for Oprah’s medical care either. I assume we will be paying for the POTUS health care. We will be paying for the health care for an elderly lady who each month has to decide between heat, food and medicne. We will be paying for the family of minimum wage earners to have adequate health coverage instead of having to go to the Emergency room when ill. (Which we pay for anyway). These are the people we will be taking care of. Oprah is on her own.

Wm J. LePetromaine – Had Obama selected Hillary for VP (remember that more people voted for her than for him), there would have been no Sara Palin.
And Obama would not be in freefall right now – so, he made his bed and now he can lie in it!
And his lower than dirt tactic of accusing the Clintons (of all people) of racism will keep me from ever casting a vote for him.
Calling the Clintons racist is like calling Brad Pitt ugly.

McCain, hides behind the skirt of Sarah Palin, and try to look Presidential??
The Democrats should attack Sarah Palin the same way they would if she was a man, she’s no different in that position as McCain’s VP running mate.
McCain’s best days are still behind him and the lipstick isn’t working.

Obama is not running against Sarah Palin, he is running against John McCain for President.

That is right. Obama supports Palin on the change because he has nothing to support himself.

Dear concerned citizens of America and mass media of the U.S.A.
As a concerned disabled American Veteran and American citizen, I consider it my duty and responsibility to address the following critical issues facing the voters of our Greatgrand nation, the United States of America [USA].
The citizens of the United States of America [USA] have the ultimate power and responsibility to elect the Right Ticket with the right joint “temperament, judgement, and statesmanship” to lead our nation as well as change our nation’s present and future moral, political, economic, educational, health care, energy, military, and foundational soul.
In my firm professional, personal, and political opinion, the media should help the common voter to explore and discuss the following attributes of the present Republican and Democratic presidential slates:
1. Does the joint ticket have a calm, cool, and collected ” temper and impulse” [Presidential Temperament]?
2. Does each ticket have sound and sustained “Judgment and Caliber”?
3. Does each ticket have a “presidential depth and degree” in regard to their purpose, policies, and positions?
4. Does each ticket have adequate, “understanding and knowledge” of workings around Washington”?
5. Does each ticket have enough “vigor, wisdom and Vision” for the future of our beloved Great-grand Nation?
6. Does each ticket possess enough joint foreign policy experience and exposure based on “American Values, Virtues, Vastness, and strong soul”?
7. Are their campaign talk, slogans, ads, plans, and programs based on facts and are they free of fear, fiction, frivolous labels, unfair attacks, negativity, and impulsivity? [Danger to country and countries mission[s].
8. Does the ticket keep country or politics first? [McCain stole Obama's change and is running with it.]
As a Independent registered voter I have decided to vote for the Obama-Biden ticket. I am sure they will protect our national security, strengths, stamina and soul as well as rebuild our nation from the bottom up in all areas of need. The OBAMA-BIDEN ticket will restore our global standing with the use of maximum, firm international diplomacy and minimal force if and when indicated.
Yours sincerely,
COL. A.M. Khajawall [Ret] MD., Forensic psychiatrist, Colonel, US-AR / MC Combat Stress Control[Ret], Disabled American Veteran and Iraq Freedom team.
PS: This nation will not buy into the kitchen sink strategy. We are getting deeper into internal and external holes through these attacks and the world is laughing at us as they enjoy our partisan Pitt Bull wounds. I am sure the collective deceptive measures of the GOP, RNC, FOX, RUSH, ROVE, McCain, and his surrogates will fail to deprive American voters of their deserved leadership. Media stop cultural divide and wars.

Is the Sarah Palin Interview going to resonate with the American people because she has already rehearsed the things she knows American people like to hear?
Maybe if Maccain came from behind her we can really hear her point of view and not any of those rehearsed remarks.
Also, it is ridiculous to think Palin is off limits for attack (politically. She wants to be Vice President. This is what is involved. She is simply another vice presdential candidate.
It is an insulting thought if Mccain thinks that Women will vote for just because he selected a woman. This is what it appears like. I hope that the women of this great country see through this and treat it like it should be treated.

Most comments refer to the rich getting richer…and the poor having no chance to improve their situations. Well, I think THE MAJORITY of voters are educated working class tax payers, many of them women, who are proud to salute the American flag while pledging their allegience and showing respect to those who have protected our constitutional rights over the years. Working our asses off to raise our American children and paying for our medical care and paying for our education while paying our mortgages and everything else. “Change” is great, but learning comes from experience. (and doesn’t anybody remember that “change” was the focus of the Bill Clinton campaign?)
Obama is charismatic…so was Hitler.

What goes around comes around -
Obama played the race card against the Clintons to inflame racial tensions right before the SC primary.
He played the race card on the Clintons despite their 30 year public record of promoting and supporting civil rights.
So he is now getting exactly what he deserves – and Obama may not be sexist BUT he’s a hell of a lot closer to being a sexist than the Clintons were to being racists.

Posted by: Wm. J. LePetomaine | September 10, 2008, 11:27 am 11:27 am

Today in America the wealthiest 1% owns more than everyone in the bottom 95% combined. Income inequality is at its greatest level since the 1920s – right before the great depression. Though the US has continued to make big gains in productivity over the last decade, nearly all of the benefit of those gains has gone to the wealthy, not the workers. American CEOs earned 411 times as much as average workers in 2005, up from 107 times in 1990. In the economic expansion of 2002-2006, the top 1% captured nearly three quarters of income growth.
http://elsa.berkeley.edu/~saez/saez-UStopincomes-2006prel.pdf
This condition is not an accident, but is instead the deliberate goal of Republican economic policy. The rich write the rules! McCain’s proposals will accelerate this trend further by using a tried and true method – fill the campaign dialogue with talk about social issues, personal stories, vague statements (“tax cuts”), and the trickle-down myth, and hope that middle and lower income voters do not read the details. It worked twice with Bush. While they talk about gay marriage to your face, they are literally picking your pocket from behind – systematically redistributing wealth from poor to rich. And here’s the kicker – they don’t think there is anything wrong with the situation! And if you vote for McCain, you are again telling them that you don’t think there is anything wrong with the situation either! The high unemployment level, housing crisis, credit crunch, lower value of the dollar, high gas prices, and increasing national debt are all related to these failed policies. Standards of living in the US have continued to rise only because in most families both people work, and people work longer hours and more days per year (all for lower benefits). Something has to give…
These are the proposed tax plans for the two candidates. You can see that McCain intends to further reduce the tax burden of the wealthiest Americans at the expense of the middle and lower income families. Obama’s plan increases taxes on the wealthy, especially that top 1%, to the benefit of working americans – a first step in reversing the rich-get-richer trend and toward re-building a real middle class. In fact, Obama has offered to actually raise his own taxes for the benefit of the country as a whole. Where are you in this table?
……………… MCCAIN …………. OBAMA
Income ……. Avg tax bill ……. Avg. tax bill
Over $2.9M …. -$269,364 (-4.4%)… +$701,885 (+11.5%)
$603K and up…. -$45,361 (-3.4%)… +$115,974 (+8.7%)

What?! The DNP is now worried since Palin has been added to the GOP ticket!
Talk about trying to close the barn door after the horses are out!
Obama has the LEAST experience of ALL those that have been serious presidential candidates this year! So, now they are worried!
The DNC & Obama punished Fla. & Mich. Dem. because Iowa & New Hampshire were suppose to set the stage! Fla. REPUBLICANS made the date change-which any State should be above a club or “party”, when it comes to choosing a presidential candidate.
You want CHANGE!? Here’s CHANGE! The DNP and Obama now want those states votes–after the nomination coronation.
That is what he meant when he promised “CHANGE”? CHANGE from REPUBLICAN double talk to DEMOCRAT!
Have you noticed?:
If you are not for Obama you are a racist!
If you bring up the need for experience they call foul!
How is that CHANGE? Same ole, same ole!
No wonder our troubles are so heavy!
The FED, etc. loosened the money supply years ago along with easying qualification requirements to obtain a loan. We knew that the eventual down turn was going to be bloody when people that could barely make mtg. payments were also driving expensive cars & spent plastic as there would be no accounting as long as they both had a 2nd job to cover the min. payments.
How can this be a surprise to Greenspan? To any Senator or Congressman? Now solvent tax payers should again bail out the greedy!
Remember the savings & loan bail out?
Worked then why not now?

A vote for McCain=another run for the White House for Hilary in 2012 (at age 65)
A vote for Obama=no possibility of a Clinton run for the White House until AT LEAST 2016 (at age 69!)

Funny how when Palin is accused of something – the press doesn’t spend the entire article trying to defend her.
I suppose that is one of the benefits of being “THE ONE”.
BTW – Why has Biden been practicing for his debate with Palin for the past two weeks – afterall, she is sooooo inexperienced.

Also, I’d LOVE to see a news story on the PUMA movement and how it’s run by a bunch of people that have and still make political contributions to Republicans in the past.
THAT would be swell. Because you know they all voted for Bush in 00 and 04 and really are just anarchists that want a revolution.

I would hope that anyone would practice before the debate. I suppose that’s why she hasn’t made any public appearances as well. Lord knows she needs to reflect on her stances regarding such things as the value of sex education in public schools, wasteful government spending, and the influence of her religion on her leadership should she (God forbid) win since all these issues have come about concerning her in the short week we’ve known her.

Why is no one talking about me…I am forgotten in this Election? I guess I am not important anymore.
Your truly,

Reread the Constitution and Bill of Rights before you vote in November. They were written as they are for a reason and have served us well. Stop changing them or reinterpreting them to say what you think they should say. Also, keep in mind that what is important to you may not be important to someone else. Abortion is not the only issue, the death penalty is not the only issue, gay-rights is not the only issue, Iraq is not the only issue, education is not the only issue, I could go on and on. There are a lot of issues to discuss. Weigh the issues and rank them. What is really important to you??? Then look at the stance of the candidates on these issues. I am asking you not to take the comments of these people on blogs to be factual, in fact all of you are giving me a headache. Make your own decision about which issues are most important to you. Forget race, sex, etc. Be honest with yourself. Don’t vote for Mr. McCain just because he has a woman vp and you are a woman, don’t vote for the Obama just because you are black, don’t vote for the veteran just because you are a vet. Only someone who is ignorate of the issues would do that. Be educated, don’t be ignorant of the issues or facts and I mean FACTS.Be proactive. Read, read, read, old newspaper articles, books written by non-partisan indivduals, check the “facts”. Watch news shows, not the ones that are geered right or left. Watch the debates and actually listen. You can’t go to a Republican blog nor can you go to a Democratic blog and believe everything you read.
Do not vote for someone by default, make your vote count for something you believe in. Don’t vote a certain way because your parents did or your spouse does You have a voice, use it. But use it responsibly, intelligently. It is fine to express your feelings. Everyone should be respected for fighting for what they believe in. It doesn’t make them bad people. It doesn’t make you a bad person for disagreeing with them. But hateful things you guys say about each other are unecessary. Express your feelings, fight for what you believe in, but name calling is for little children because they don’t have the vocabulary to express themselves nor the facts to back up what they say.

I agree that this kind of story is entierly WASTEFUL.
Obama disgrees with McCain’s policies. Big whoop. Who didn’t know that?
Focusing on the ACTUAL policy proposals, how McCain and Obama propose to drag us out of this mess we’re in is the ONLY thing the American public NEEDS to know about this election.
Thank God for Obama who actually is able to put aside personal infighting and focus on how his plans are different from those of McCain.

COL.A.M.Khajawall [Ret], I salute you, for bringing up whats really important in this election, not whose black or white, women or man, or even in our Country were freedom is so very important what religion they choose to practice…. In the last several weeks I have read many many comments on these blogs and have gone from being, embarrassed, ashamed and angry at the type of conversations that go on, instead of attacking the real issues, people on here name call, bring up religion, bring up race, bring up sex, bring up the children of the candidates, bring up what the candidates had for breakfast or lunch, I commend you, because you had the decency to bring up important questions, important issues, thats all many of us have been asking for.
My husband has never voted, this will be his first time, he has always felt that his vote would never make a difference, for the first time, he is feeling like he is important, and he is looking at the important issues and attributes as you just described, he has cut the News off, and began to explore on his own, who stands for what.. GOD BLESS YOU SIR, for standing up and standing out

Sarah Palin is beautiful and she gotten so good at her speech in such a short period of time. She’s got everything our country needs for leadership! I think she’ll make a great president if something happened to McCain. It’s never happened that we had someone so beautiful and talented run for president and I’m so proud. The moment I saw her I thought she was perfect for vice-president and eventually president of the United States. We need someone who will be popular with the people that count if we are going to show the world that we are the leader of the world–that’s Sarah Palin!!!!!

Why aren’t Obama cronies from the Illinois State Senate supporting and campaigning for him???? They hate him and it was proven on the CNN bio of Obama aired last week. Take a good look via You Tube to Obama’s district. It is poverty, drugs, crimes and other irresponsible people. Obama lost 11% of the jobs while a state senator and his friend Rezko stole $100 million from taxpayers and institution. He is just another Chicago thug.

“CAN YOU BELIEVE”, Wm.J. Petomaine has written 25, I say 25 responses to this blog alone, so far. It must be frustrating as hell not to get your point accross with 3 or 4. Kind of like Olooser and his team. Olooser has been trying for how many months now and can’t connect, but Sarah has done it in only 12 days. Amaaaaaazing isn’t it?

You’re blessing a proven phony. There are a lot of nuts on the web.

Obama thinks he is such a cool dude to beat Hillary, so swatting down Palin is just a piece of cake. Better think again. When he should be debating the number one on the ticket, John McCain, he picks on Palin. What irony! He is always taking women for granted, especially those who cling to God and guns in economic downturns. He just doesn’t know very much.

Posted by: georgia | September 10, 2008, 2:12 pm 2:12 pm

“PHONEY”?, Hmm, this phony sounds alot like a lot of men and women I have come into contact with, this phony sounds alot like my father who is a Vietnam Vetern, this phony sounds like my grandfather who fought in WWII, who only had a 5th grade education but still managed to provide his family with a descent life. This phony sounds like my brother, my cousins, my nieces, my nephews.. who have fought in Desert Storm and Iraq.
If he is a phony, he is for sure speaking volumes for a lot of people who just want the facts without all the extra rhetoric and name calling that has nothing to do with the important issues.

Most important of all, WE DO NOT WANT A GOVERNMENT WITH PELOSI, REID, OBAMA, AND BIDEN CONTROLLING OUR COUNTRY.

Please explain why no one in the mainstream media is willing to ask about Sarah Palin and her non-pregnancy? There are no pics of her pregnant in the past two years yet she claims that baby is hers and not her daughter’s. If she lied about this that means she has committed a felony by altering a birth certificate. Yet it seems non of the press is brave enough to investigate this. Bill Maher is the only one who has mentioned this on his show. Please bring this out. The public needs to know.

Hey Clintonites: I am officially launching the Clinton in 2012 Campaign!
Action Item #1:
A vote for McCain will make Gov. Palin the first woman VP…
…this will turn Hillary Clinton’s historic, hard-fought campaign into a footnote. How? Watch & marvel…
History Textbook Excerpt:
“…In 2009 Gov. Palin was elected the first woman Vice-President in America’s more than 200 years. During her tenure, she bla..bla…bla…VP President Palin finally shattered the notorious “Glass Ceiling in 2010!
In 2010, She became America’s first female President, after Pres. John McCain resigned from office, citing health reasons. The nation mourned Pres. John McCain’s death in 2012, when he passed away from complications stemming from his re-surgent melanoma.*
——————–
*Gov. Palin was selected to be John McCain’s Vice-Presidential running-mate on the heels of a failed campaign for the Presidency run by one Sen. Hillary Clinton (D), the wife of America’s 42nd President, Bill Clinton.
It is one of the great ironies of history that in running a failed campaign for the Presidency, she effectively catapulted a Republican unknown into the White House. A Republican who shared only her gender, but none of her political views.
