What Do Women Want? A Woman on the Ticket!

A new ABC News/Washington Post poll shows Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., making up huge ground among white women since putting Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin on the ticket.

Reports ABC News Polling Director Gary Langer: "From 50-42 percent in Obama’s favor before the conventions to 53-41 percent for McCain now, a 20-point shift that’s one of the single biggest post-convention changes in voter preferences."

Among white women, 67 percent view Palin favorably; 58 percent say her selection makes them more confident in McCain’s decision-making.

Among those with children, Palin does even better than that.

In a letter to Maria Bonaparte, Dr. Sigmund Freud wrote, "The great question that has never been answered, and which I have not yet been able to answer, despite my thirty years of research into the feminine soul, is ‘What does a woman want?’"

Apparently, they want to be put on the ticket!

I don’t want to be disenfranchised like I was by the DNC. I will not be voting for Barack Obama the chosen one. The same holds true for many of my friends and mother/sister in law.
Obamabots: YES WE CAN
Hillary Supporters: NO YOU WON’T

But Mr. “Hope” with his Harvard Law Review and all of his Magna Cum Laude B.S. degrees couldn’t figure out that simple fact, now could he???

The DNC listened to stupid Obamabots like Donna Brazille who told him that it was a “new” party. Too bad they did not explain that Af-Amer are only about 14% of US and most live in Red States that Obama will never get.
I know people who spend lots of money and time to get Hillary Supporters for McCain and we are succeeding just got this e-mail today and hundreds like it.
“obama supporters are rude, that is why i won’t vote obama, i am a democrat voting for mccain”
Typical because the DNC has turned in to the very thing it used to hate.

I can’t accept that women want people in the white house that believe;
Global warming does NOT exist.
Environmental protection is unnecessary and should be stopped.
All natural resources are to be exploited fully without regard to environmental damage.
The US is the world’s attack dog and is free to invade any country it wants.
The war in Iraq is a “holy war” against the Muslims.
The war in the middle east should be expanded to include Iran.
Evolution does NOT exist.
Creationism should be taught in public schools.
There should not be a seperation between church and state.
Abortion should be banned including after rape or incest.
Homosexuality is a sin against God and should be banned.
Supreme Court Judges should be picked according to agreeing with the items above.

I was a Hillary supporter but would never vote for McCain because I just don’t believe in the republican policies. Being a woman it would be wonderful if a woman won. But Sarah Palin is too conservative for me and goes against everything I believe in. I really hope people vote the issues and not the gender.

Posted by: laurie | September 8, 2008, 6:09 pm 6:09 pm

Heard Obama on the stump today attacking Palin. I thought Palin was the GOP VP candidate but Obama despite his top seat on the DNC ticket spends most of his time going for the jugular of Palin who stole his media spotlight. Poor Barry. Why are you not going for McCain, Obama? Obama must feel deja vu from his days of maligning Hillary, another woman.

Posted by: Samantha | September 8, 2008, 6:10 pm 6:10 pm

So McCain’s “operation chaos” says “all women are stupid”, well I guess they’re right.

This is turning out better than Operation Chaos. The dopey dims are imploding…..Again!

Posted by: Don | September 8, 2008, 6:11 pm 6:11 pm

And by “Campagining for Obama,” Hillary still gets out there and keeps herself in the public eye building up HER support for next time……
That’s why she won’t go any further against the GOP Ticket than No How, No Way, No McCain, No Palin…
She knows how popular Palin is right now with women, and that she’ll need women next time around for herself, so she’s not going to say anything too terrible against her…………..

Posted by: SandyB | September 8, 2008, 6:11 pm 6:11 pm

And after the Democratic Convention the polls were reversed!
Everyone knows that the polls after a Convention are statistical noise. These numbers will not hold up they seldom do.
So have a few days fun then back to reality. It is anyones election at this point.

NEWS FLASH!! – The ones on here claiming to be Hillary supporters are fakes and not worth paying an attention to. True Hillary supporters are aligned with her because they know what’s at stake. Well said all. Also, we keep hearing about how Hillary is going to come out swinging against Palin in some misogynist fantasy ‘cat fight’. I so hope she stays above it all. She owes Obama and the DNC nothing. They viciously belittle her then want her to degrade herself for their sake. I don’t think so.

Posted by: bct424 | September 8, 2008, 6:15 pm 6:15 pm

Palin represents everything middle class women have been fighting for for over 30+ years. She’s anti-choice, anti-equal pay, anti-environment, and an anti-semite to boot. She’s not a qualified VP pick, she’s a mascot. But hey what do I know? – Vote for the book banning facist. I’m a white male, I guess I’ll be okay.

I am doing a combination of both Laurie. I honestly do think that McCain would be a better president than Obama. In 2004 I did not vote for Kerry or Bush. I vote for people I respect. I do think that Mccain will bring Maverick back and there is a surprise element with him.
McCain also offers me a ticket with diverse gender and as far as issues, well I have ISSUES with Obama and would not want him to be my president. He stinks as my senator and I will pass.

you know the OTHER bridge that Palin also didn’t say no thanks on…
(the firs tone she just said “well if you guys aren’t going to give us enough money to build it…then I guess we won’t be able to build it…but we’llkeep the money”)
get rid of these lying scummy tactics of the last 8 years that Palin fits perfectly into.

With a strong majority of women believing in abortion rights, I would imagine once they find out Palin and McCain want Supreme Court Justices appointed that will overturn Roe vs. Wade, women will turn away from them. As a 50 year old white woman, I can tell you I have no desire to see women’s rights eclipsed by religious extremists forcing their views on everyone else. (Palin actually has stated abortions should not even be allowed in the case of rape or incest!) Separation of church and state was what the founding fathers wisely chose and so should we. While I personally have never had an abortion, I can readily imagine situations where a woman would have to choose one. It is a personal decision that should not be dictated by the government.
This next president will appoint at least one and maybe two Justices. Think about it.
Oh, and the fact neither McCain or Palin has any understanding of the economy or how to improve things for working people will be discouraging to voters, whether men or women. McCain actually wants to give corporations more tax breaks, including big oil! Obama’s tax breaks will be 3 times more for 85 % of Americans, than McCains. Retired folks under the Obama plan who make under $50,000 will not pay income tax to help them ‘retire with dignity’. Obama will end the tax breaks for companies that out-source jobs and reward those who increase factory jobs here. Obama’s health care plan is realistic and affordable, unlike McCain’s.
Obama is looking out for the ordinary American and our country’s future in jobs here, health care and ending our dependence on foreign oil. That is change we need.
McCain has an aggressive attitude toward foreign policy, talking repeatedly about staying ten to 100 years in Iraq and threatening to attack Iran. He has shown a history of angering quickly over small issues his entire life. This is a scary character trait in a president, not only because they control our armed services but it prevents their aides from giving them necessary but bad news. The Bush administration has shown the disaster that can result of the leader not getting the facts.
Obama has a strong plan to get us out of Iraq, win the war in Afghanistan and has already shown how well he gets along with important world leaders. His calm, confident manner is exactly how our country should be represented.
Please don’t be fooled by a pretty face when there is more misery in store for the majority of Americans under a McCain administration on so many fronts.

These people are going to vote for McCain just because he puts a woman on the ticket? Wow! I have 2 daughters and I am a big supporter of Hillary and I understand about being upset, but dont let that displeasure lead to making a poor choice. If you people cared anything about what Hillary cares about then you are doing yourself and this country a great disservice by not voting for Obama/Biden. This is absolutely Amazing. Not hard to tell why this country is in such a mess. McCain and the republicans know Americans are this careless with their vote and thats why Palin is on the ticket. They are laughing in the seats right now about how they pulled another one over on America. Their TV ads were proof enough that they think most Americans vote for stupid reason. Now this. Unfortunatley Hillary is very polarizing and Biden comes in with very much the same qualifications and not the same polarizing effects. I am embarrased for American voters. For the sake of my daughters please vote the issues.

Obama is down in the polls. Your man is going to lose. I voted for Hillary and I am for McCain. Many others are following suit by the thousands. Just wait until the end of September. You thought ten point gain by McCain was bad. How can the DNC advance to the next game when you have so many dead teammates on the field from the primaries?

Let’s revisit The Bridge to Nowhere, using the Washington Post US Congress Votes Database.
Though Gov. Palin originally supported the earmark spending on the Ketchikan bridge (“to nowhere), she eventually killed the project, chosing to spend Federal money on other infrasturcture programs.
However, Sen. Biden and Sen. Obama voted for funding the Bridge, even when given a second chance by Sen. Tom Coburn, who proposed shifting earmark funds to Katrina relief.
Sen. McCain did not vote on the Coburn Amendment, though he is on record as opposing the Ketchikan bridge earmark.

I would advise all you supposed Hillary fans to cool it a bit. If Senator Obama loses and you do get McCain/Palin…then you might be looking at 8 years of the old guy and then 8 years of the wacky woman. That is 16 years (some on this board need the math done for them). Hillary is 60. In 16 years she will be 76. A bit long in the tooth for a presidential run.
AND some of us dems might not forget you all either….and you will need the Obama folks to win. So the screw turns both directions doesn’t it?
If Obama wins, Hillary will be receiving a very nice appointment, probably to the Supreme Court or a department of her choosing. She can then be in perfect position to run in 8 years after Obama. At that time, she will be 68 and prime for the presidency.
Now, all of you supposed ex-dems want to be dems again when Hillary runs…..fine…that’s good…but if you prevent Hillary from getting that chance by voting McCain and his new BFF into office, you may very well lose your chance.

dl, Operation Chaos was not affiliated with or had anything to do with Sen. McCain. That was Rush Limbaugh’s operation. It was designed to encourage Republican voters–both male and female–to cross over and vote (where legal to do so) in the Democratic primaries for Sen. Clinton in order to prolong the primary season.

Posted by: James Danley | September 8, 2008, 6:31 pm 6:31 pm

I wanted Clinton because she was the best choice. Obama is grossly under-qualified and obnoxiously arrogant. Obama had the chance to pick Clinton (18 million of us wanted her)but he picked Biden(same old same old Washington). He has done nothing to back up his change motto.
McCain has proven that he is a reformer by his history in Washington and by picking a reformer for his team. I love that Palin is a woman but even more than that, I love that she had made actual changes to the government.
I look at McCain/Palin and I see real change.
I look at Obama and I wonder how he got this far with ZERO experience—then I remember that he is associated with some of the most corrupt people in the country.
I am a female, a democrat, and a proud supporter of Palin/McCain 08

The Palin pick is disheartening on so many levels. Even what little we know about the Alaska governor’s policy views is enough to make a traditional feminist weep.
The staunchly conservative Palin not only opposes abortion rights (even in cases of rape or incest), she also supports abstinence-only sex education and takes a strict free-market approach toward health care.

Posted by: Mary Ann | September 8, 2008, 6:35 pm 6:35 pm

“But many of us do believe in personal integrity.”
So how has Palin demonstrated personal integrity?
Was it when she abused the power of her office both as mayor and governor?
Was it when she left Wasilla over $20M in debt?
Was it when she claimed she was against the bridge to nowhere but fails to mention her full throated support for it?
Was it when she screamed about her family’s privacy being invaded only to use them as campaign props?

I like the “threat” of just wondering. It’s funny how Obama and his supporters didn’t need Hillary Clinton’s supporters – the nasty, hateful comments, the insults, the “you won’t support Obama because you’re pouting/angry/vindictive” (take your pick). Now there’s this “advice” from just wondering telling us what Obama will “give” Hillary if he wins.
Come on – you really think we’re ignorant. Obama won’t give Hillary squat. He didn’t have the good sense or enough decency to look at the fact that 18 million voters (or perhaps that was precisely the problem) voted for her and at least consider her as a potential VP. He’s scared of her; he’s scared of Palin. Truthfully, these past few days has made clear his relationship with Michelle and why she gets away with her racist and hate-filled comments. You say we need you? I say you should take a good, long, hard look at how you and your candidate have acted during this election. You should be ashamed of yourself. YOU, your candidate and the DNC gave this election to John McCain.

I am so confused about peoples hatred of Barack Obama. I was not a Hillary supporter, but i would have voted for her if she won the nomination. McCain/Palin is the exact opposite of Hillary and will turn back the clock for women, not move us forward. A vote for McCain is not a vote for Hilary, it’s a vote against women!

Posted by: Hoolia | September 8, 2008, 6:40 pm 6:40 pm

I would love to see a woman in the White House or Blair House. But I’m not going to base my decision on which ticket to support based on the sex of the candidates. I am more interested in the candidates’ stand on the issues and their characters. I can’t think of any important issues where I agree with Gov. Palin. Why then should I vote for her? Simply because she has a uterus? I am disappointed to see so many women, particularly Democrats, apparently supporting the GOP for that reason.

John McCain is a maverick. He is not afraid to think outside the box and challenge his own party. He has a RECOD of bipartisanship.

“Obama is down in the polls.”
He was down in the polls 2 months before Iowa too.
And then what happened?
Oh yeah, he beat Hillary pretty badly and caused her to use up resources she was counting on for Super Tuesday.
Obama’s voters confound most polls because those polls are based on likely voters. Likely voters are predicted mostly on past voting.
Obama has brought millions of new voters to the ballot box.
That’s why Mark Penn (the scumbag that Hillary for some reason relied on) was caught completely off guard when Obama thumped her in IA and SC then fought her even on Super Tuesday.

McCain didn’t vote on a lot of things last year? You really want to go there? Btw, where was Obama last year? ”
Obama has missed 45% of the votes during the current session of Congress (110th) and he missed 11 votes during the 109th.
McCain has missed nearly 64% of the votes this current Congress and missed 56 votes during the 109th.
How come McCain missed so many more votes? Isn’t his country important?
Oh wait. I got it. By removing his voice of support for Bush policies, he was fighting Washington!
“How many meeting did Obama call on the Afghanistan thing”
Well he became chairman of that committee last year and the full foreign relations committee chaired by Joe Biden (ya know the thing Palin supposedly has experience in cause Russia is next to Alaska) has held several hearings on NATO’s role and Afghanistan.

I’m a recovering Democrat, part of my recovery is to leave the backstabbing party of idiots and go solo (Independent). I don’t want a republican in the WH, but it sure looks like Obama screwed himself. Now, how are his management skills? can he still brag about himself? what an idiot!

didn’t McCain leave his first wife for a younger prettier one? hmmmmmmmmm

If you had actually bothered to watch both CNN profiles of the candidates. You would see that in the McCain one (which is actually more interesting that the Obama one due to far more SUBSTANCE) the CINDY affair is fully covered in detail and not really as scandalous as the BOTS make it out to be. After 4 years in a POW camp, he came home a different person which put a strain on his marriage. Both women were pretty. The telling of it was very personal and not just like Obama’s “yes I experimented with drugs” with no real insight as to why.

This will be my third time voting in a presidential election. I voted for a Republican the first time and Democrat the second. I’m voting Republican this time because the Democrats have the same old tired message. Tax the rich, fund abortion and other questionable entitlement programs, and the list goes on. I’m unemployed but I have enough faith in the future that I don’t want a free ride. I think Biden is a decent man but McCain/Palin seem to be the more honorable team.

The kind of person who leaves his wife while she is in the hospital for a rich younger woman?
The kind of person who hires a man who smeared his own daughter?
The kind of person that tells nasty jokes about the teenage daughter of a rival?

Blah, blah, blah. No McSame Pain.
Pollsters aren’t polling young voters with cell phones, they’re only polling older people with land lines. Obama has a huge advantage among young voters.
A real poll of all eligible voters would show Obama/Biden WAY ahead.

Uh, no the media should not leave her alone, what kind of moron would actually suggest that?
She’s an unknown with less than two months to election day. She will be held feet to fire and there will be more dirt unearthed about her and the GOP will scream and cry “sexism” but it’s actually they who are the sexists who think that she should ‘just be left alone’. That really tells you everything you need to know about conservatives; they truly put their elected officials on high pedestals and they get really upset if anyone dares has the temerity to ask them a question. I remember all the Bush worship for years and it’s sickening to see right wingers equate Bush=Amercia, therefore attacking Bush is akin to attacking America.
I still want to know why did Palin go to 6 schools in five years for a bachelor’s degree?

Republicans apparently need a wind-up doll that says all the “right” things and makes them submit (wink wink). They’re to weak to come to fair minded conclusions or think about their family.
Poor Sarah. Poor McCain for thinking this ploy would fly. Both he and his stepford veep are so out of touch with the American public, 2008 and reality.

Did Sarah Palin wrongfully push to have her ex-brother-in law fired? Was she really against the “Bridge to Nowhere?” Did she really sell Alaska’s plane on eBay, or just list it on eBay? Did she actually have any substantial duties commanding the Alaska National Guard?
The correct answer to all these questions is: who cares? Which isn’t to say these aren’t valid questions, or that Palin and the McCain camp aren’t playing it fast, loose, and coy with each of them. The point is that Palin, and the circus she’s brought to town, are simply a bountiful collection of small lies deliberately designed to distract the country from one big truth: the havoc that George Bush and the Republican Party have wrought, and that John McCain is committed to continuing.

Nordstrom: Who cares who you lost a lot of respect for, I know I don’t care! Just the way you and countless others did not care when Obama shamelessly kept attacking Hillary Clinton for her gender during the primary season. We lost all of our respect for you likewise and your clueless leader Obama the sexist pig! Did you really think there would not be consequences to that behavior? Did you think you would get off scott free and we would go running to the polls to elect Obama? Think again! We said we were serious about opposing him if he did not make some kind of amends with us and he has done nothing except say, “They’ll get over it.” Well, WE ARE NOT GETTING OVER IT AND NEVER WILL! And, let me also address not only men who think it was okay for Obama to treat Hillary like that but let me also address the women who have been mocking Gov. Palin and thought it was fine to mock Hillary and Bill Clinton likewise! We will oppose any candidate that any sexist PERSON supports if they run down our gender and it does not matter if they are women, men, martians, etc. We will mobilize and unite and oppose any candidate and supporters who think it’s fine to beat up a woman on her gender! IT WILL NOT BE TOLERATED EVER AGAIN!! Obama had us until he opened his mouth and began bashing Hillary and Bill Clinton. The next time a woman candidate runs for office perhaps people will remember this election and remember to keep their big pie holes on the issues and not on the gender!

“HEY ABC….ALL BARACK CHANNEL, why is it you publish Palin gaffe regarding Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, yet you have not said a damn thing about Obama, slipping and telling George Stephanolpolus he was MUSLIM”
Er, let’s see how I can put this politely. Because Obama’s religion is not important although he is definitely a Christian. BUT, the Sarah who parroted McCain’s ignorance really showed how incompetent they both she and her running mate are by not knowing the difference between the two companies that back trillions of dollars of mortgages. I thought I would faint when McCain referred to both of these companies as agencies. How are these two incompetents supposed to strategize an economic turn-around when they don’t even know the basics?!
At least Obama understands the economy. That puts him in a better position to fix this broken mess, yes?

I think there is a tendency for everyone (not just white women) to vote for whichever candidate they most identify with… to vote for a candidate who looks like them and has been through some of the same life experiences. Also, people appreciate leaders with beauty, health, and exuberance which Palin surely has but that McCain sorely lacked. So beyond just being an accomplished woman and a mother, Palin brings a sense of youthful vitality to McCain’s candidacy. Plus she’s got sort of a plucky underdog quality that probably magnifies her appeal.

What do women want? I want a more secure country, a more stable world, a foreign policy that doesn’t mingle recklessness with stupidity, a smart energy plan that creates millions of green jobs and helps limit climate change, and a whole series of strong economic policies to address financial regulation, home foreclosures, and unemployment. I want a Supreme Court that protects women’s rights instead of taking them away, and a world where book banning and creationism in public school are shameful ideas for a mainstream candidate of either party to advocate. And I’d want the same darn things if I was a man. Unless you agree with Rick Davis, McCain’s manager, that this race “isn’t about the issues” but think instead that it’s only about “celebrity” (Sarah Palin), vote Obama-Biden for a strong steady path into the future and not a right-wing retreat to the last eight years of disaster. Women have wanted a women in the White House whom they could be proud of, not Phylis Schlafly Jr. Sarah Palin is a man in a dress.
She billed rape victims for their rape kits. She opposes the Fair Pay Act while her running mate opposes the Violence Against Women Act and Equal Pay. Both want to overturn Roe vs. Wade. She believes gays can be cured and that we are fighting God’s war.
She doesn’t even belong on the White House lawn.
Obama has done more for women than Palin has. And THAT is what is important.

Palin scares many hardcore feminists. She is the embodiement of everything most women should be supporting. How many women struggle today to be a mother, wife, caregiver, supporter and head of the household. Palin has and is doing it all. A successful career, mother of 5, happily married to a handsome husband, instead of embracing her, feminists are looking for any reason to attack her, amazing!!?

That’s funny. One correction. Old women want a women in the White House. Young women don’t feel the need to “cling” to our womanhood. We’ve already arrived and are comfortable seeing past gender to make choices based on facts and issues that move forward.

Excuses by Dems….
2000 it was hanging chads in Florida
2004 it was voting machines in Ohio
2008 it will be rascism in the USA.
Get the crying towel ready.

Neville,
2008: DEMS chose the wrong person as their nominee. The nominee chose the wrong person as VP
What the DNC will claim:
We lost this election due to America’s rampant threads of racism and the Republican’s exploitation of women.
The Truth:
The DNC is racist and sexist and has become the very thing it used to hate. The DNC has taken a socialist exclusionary stance.
New DNC Slogan:
You can count on us… To lose

AllWeWantIsTheTruth: You don’t need to know all Palin’s business. Do you tall all your business. She is the candidate and that’s all you need to know. She has a husband and five children and is a governor. Obama should have cleaned out his house years ago and his associates like Rezko and Ayers. Plus he should have left that racist church like Oprah did.

Samatha: I’m with you. I am a democrat voting for McCain. And Hillary campaigning for Obama will not make a difference in the polls. Palin is too popular and an outsider to Washington. Obama is all talk with his sincere lies as one newman said. Obama talks about change. Obama got the words change and hope from RFK’s speech when he was campaigning and Bill Clinton used the word change. Anyone can use that word it doesn’t belong to Obama. He uses other’s speeches and the public was eating his words up but the tide has now changed and he is not the celebrity anymore Palin is. I hope McCain wins the election. Its time for Hillary’s voters to wake up and vote McCain.

Obama only sat down and had coffee with world leader’s nothing else. He doesn’t know foreign policy and furthermore he doesn’t know that much about politics. For graduating from Harvard he came out knowing nothing but crooks. He missed the senate 130 times said he was against the war but wasn’t in the senate when the voting began. He chose the wrong candidate for VP and now he is going downhill. He is not a christian and never will be. He was a racist for years that’s why he attended that church. If elected we will need god’s help.

Cool: Yes, we need a woman in the white house and Palin is the one. A woman that can hold her own and pulls no punches. Hillary was too soft against Obama and he took advantage of that. Palin would really sock it to him. She is a fighter and that’s what the white house needs. Obama is a dud and Biden has a big mouth. Neither one of them should be in the white house. Both of them are a big joke.

I’m a Russian exile living in Boston, and I’m grateful to everything that is America.
I was not born here but I love these United States from the bottom of heart. For my job I have traveled extensively through some 25 states.
In my view and experience the current Republican administration has severely offended not only the great American Constitution, but also the heart and soul of what I see as ‘America’ and ‘Americans’. To that extent that I will not vote Republican for many years to come, and maybe never again.
I was deeply shocked, I admit, when a majority of Americans reelected George W. Bush for President.
Now I am deeply shocked again, I’m sorry to say, about Americans being fired up by ‘hockey mom’ Sarah Palin.
How is this possible?
The ONLY thing Palin did so far for the Republican ticket is reading aloud a test that was fully written by one of George W. Bush’s speech writers.
Is the America I came know and love so much no more? That would be, in my view, one of the saddest political developments in modern history.
The Russia of the devil and mafioso Putin would love to see a continuation of the out of touch Republican foreign policies that focus on the wrong countries, that only create new American enemies, and that in the meantime let Russia crawl into Georgia as China will do with Taiwan, Chavez with Colombia etc.
I have no doubt it: a continuation of the Bush-Cheney policies, a McCain-Palin administration would not only a disaster for the American economy and the equilibrium of this great society: it would be a disaster for peace, justice and democracy in the world.
Dear Americans, I love you all, but please think twice before supporting another four years of GOP power, the GOP that brought this country a debt of trillions of dollars, a collapsing economy, more than 4000 unnecessary deaths of our young brave people in Iraq, torture, and a very and very troublesome low standing and popularity in the world.
America, please SHINE again, and serve as an example to ordinary Russians and other people who seek democracy and justice in an often cruel and dangerous world.

Dear Young Women, you haven’t spent enough time in white male-dominated corporate america to understand discrimination, sexism and down-right hatred to understand why women need a strong woman leader in the White House.
The DNC did exactly what they are suppose to be against, racism, discrimination and womens rights by chosing to allow Obama to ignore the best running mate to win the election.
He chose his ego over his party, and the right choice for the country. On the other hand HIllary would have chosen him b/c she is much more aware of what is at stake.
So now that Mr. Ego is losing ground don’t blame anyone but him.
By the way, he made his first big executive decision by using all of his so-called “experts” by chosing Biden. That is what will sink his run for the presidency.
Donna Brazile told Gore he didn’t need Bill, Donna Brazile told Obama he didn’t need Hillary. Donna Brazile is wrong but all the talking heads will blame racism when this is over.
Makes me laugh. And the “left media” who didn’t vet Obama, didn’t ask questions about his affiliations with his church are now going to Alaska to investigate Palin’s church. WHAT A JOKE!!! Who do they think they’re fooling???
HILLARY 2012!!!!

How can Palin be for Pro Life yet be a life long member of the National Rifle Association?
How can Palin preach abstinence and be against sex education and be an advocate by experience of Teen Pregnancy and Teen Marriage?.
She confuses me and more confusing to me is: how McCain could have picked this woman to run for VP?
How can Palin deny rape victims the right to choose and on top of that charge them $300 to $1200 for a rape kit to conduct an investigation. (this is how is currently handled in Alaska)
that woman scares me.

What do women want? A leader who’s secure enough in his manhood not to be intimidated by the idea of a “sweetie” on his ticket who might overshadow him.

Posted by: marylou | September 9, 2008, 10:11 am 10:11 am

McCain looked at what Hillary did and said to himself, “It’s time for to put a woman on the ticket.” Obama could have made the same decision; the best woman around was available. Obama, however, took one look at Hillary and ran as fast as he could in the other direction, straight into the arms of Joe Biden.
The Obama/Clinton ticket would have been exciting, and would now be at least 15 points ahead. Instead, Obama looks weak and indecisive, and Biden is a crashing bore.

It doesn’t take rocket science. It is very simple. Many women are strong, intelligent capable and still honor men and don’t have to denigrate them. This is the allure of Sarah Palin to both men and women for she represents the millions of women just like her. Not all women are in the mold of Jane Fonda and Gloria Steinem.

We want equal representation in the office. Regardless of politics, a woman will understand women’s issue much better than anyone.
So go Sarah go
I have even put a blog together dedicated to Sarah

I was happy to see a woman on ticket. But I will never vote for a ticket because of this. I look at the candidates, truths, issues.
I have researched John McCain and Sarah Palin intensively. I have lots of concern. She claims she cleaned up corrupt politics!!! FBI investigation being done 2004. First FBI raids Aug, 2006. Sarah Palin ran for governor under “change” theme. Investigation was going on long before she took office in Nov, 2006. Sarah Palin did not start, do any of starting or investigate. Alaska government did not do any of investigation. FBI did. Sarah Palin – claims fame. But see she really did not do. See some legislators say – stretch of truth a long way – about this claim. Facts verify this claim is really not true. Voters just see government cleaned up. But FBI is actually doing
FACT-
ALL WERE REPUBLICANS – 11 REPUBLICAN LEGISLATORS INDICTED BY FBI TO DATE + OTHER LOBBYISTS. OIL INDUSTRY OFFICIALS
America is a disaster!! We have had Republicans in for 8 years!! Americans can’t take anymore!!
I am registered Republican. I will not support anymore of their lies!!!

The Status Quo needs to be challenged. A Status Quo of another gender is still the Status Quo…

Stop being typical women, do not be fooled, please put emotions aside and like thinkers, think…
Aren’t McCain and his buds the ones afraid of higher taxes? Who do you think is going to get this increase, you? How many Americans make over $250,000 a year? There are not that many left around, since poverty is increasing everyday. It is them; the billionaires who do not think our economy is in trouble, who do not pump gas every week, who do not have to pay more for gas, milk or groceries. Those who can not even keep track of their assets, who ignorantly and who randomly picked a stranger for himself to begin with and to the world, outside of Alaska as a running mate, a mate who has no moral, experience or minimum requirements to lead one of the top jobs in America. Someone who will not be able to handle the pressure and decision making with such large family and its very peculiar challenges, someone who like in the last 8 years of our history will just confirm the embarrassment of our country in the eyes of the world, someone who can not write a speech for a nation, but a high school essay. Is that so appealing to you or what is going to get us out of this mess? I thought we all deserve better than that at least for me, Harvard and direct work community and congress experience are much more appealing, despite colors, or gender; resume speaks more than dramas. Give me a break! They need to get themselves and their families together first before trying to get this job. We need a plan and execution, ability to perform. Sorry! But memories or dramas from the 60’s will not get us out of this mess.

For once, Tapper, BINGO. :)
I’m socially liberal and will STILL be voting McCain/Palin; damn straight I want a ###### in the WH.

I guess Rev. Jesse Jackson is right. Obama talks down to Black people, and now he’s talking down to women. My wife is after me to vote for McCain now.

Obama wants to take from the rich and give to the poor, gee that gives No on any reason to progress . Why would you want to if you can do nothing and get a hand out. Democrats turned out the lights and went on vacation while we are suffering with high oil prices. We have turned out the light on electing any democrats come Nov . Gov Palin is a Real person , not rich like Obama has been since his mother was married to a rich oil exec. Gov Palin Knows and understands the needs of the middle class ( And she is Proud of this country)

If Obama is so Honest why isn’t he telling about the suit against him in Federal Court? Why did he have to slip in to See Grandma in Hawaii, no kids , awol wife. ?
And most of all he spends all his words comparing every one to Bush, or talking against Mccain/ Palin, Instead of saying what he really plans to do , and refusing to do townhalls , because he can’t have his teleprompter, He doesn’t have an original idea , that is why he must Have his speach writters teleprompter everywhere. Obama even Refused to do a town hall with the families & troops @ FT Hood

I think when the Dem’s finally corner Governor Palin, they’ll find out why sharks fear barracuda. And based on the sexist approach to both Hillary and Sarah, you’ll see the rest of the sisterhood feeding in a frenzy on the left leaning media and the Obama campaign.

Posted by: Greg | September 9, 2008, 6:19 pm 6:19 pm

I find it funny that Obama claims to be the candidate for change when he is nothing more than the lipstick on the same old socialist-tax-the-rich-increase-entitlements pig the democrats have been pushing since FDR instituted the Marxist Social-ist in-Security Administration.
