Women Launch ‘Hockey Moms for McCain-Palin’ Web Site

ABC News’ Jennifer Parker reports: Two self described "hockey moms" launched a web site Tuesday called "Hockey Moms for McCain-Palin" to mobilize women in key battleground states to support the  Republican ticket.

Kellie Boyle, 46, of McLean, Virginia and her longtime friend Adrienne Cordova of Philadelphia, Pa., are the co-founders of http://www.hockeymomsformccain-palin.com/ — a web site targeting women in  Pennsylvania, Michigan, Virginia and Ohio — key battleground states.

"Hockey moms are the new soccer moms," Boyle told ABCNews.com, "we’re just moms who are excited about ticket who wanted to do something to support Sarah Palin to show that there is alot of support among middle-class , main street, suburban moms out there."

Boyle pointed to recent polls that suggest that women have swung their support from Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama to Republican John McCain since Palin joined the GOP ticket.

The latest ABC News/Washington Post poll found a 20-point shift among white women from Obama to  McCain. The latest Newsweek poll puts McCain over Obama among white women by 16 percentage points.

Boyle said the website isn’t affiliated with the McCain campaign and she isn’t being paid for her work.

"This is pure grass roots, this has nothing to do with the campaign," she said.

The "Hockey Moms for McCain-Palin" web site sells bumper stickers and "hockey moms for McCain-Palin" signs through CafePress, urges Republican supporters to request an absentee ballot to vote early, and solicits donations for the American Special Hockey Association, a group that helps children with physical and developmental disabilities play hockey.

"Hard work. Dedication. Sacrifice. These are just three things that John McCain has in common with the hockey moms of America. And Sarah Palin shares our early-rising, butt-freezing, glass-pounding commitment to our children and communities too!" reads the web site.

Boyle said she’s mobilizing the mothers she knows at hockey rinks in Virginia and Cordova is targeting moms in Pennsylvania.

"She’s getting mothers at all the hockey rinks in Pennsylvania getting ready to have bumper stickers and signs," Boyle said of Cordova, "and I’ve got relatives in Michigan that are doing the same thing."

Boyle, who said she used to work in Virginia Republican Sen. John Warner’s press office in Washington, DC in the 1980s, is a longtime volunteer for Republican Rep. Frank Wolf of Virginia, who is up for re-election in November. Boyle is currently a part-time public relations and marketing consulting for Arlington-based LM&O Advertising, where her husband works.

Boyle attended the McCain-Palin rally last week in Fairfax Virginia where an estimated 23,000 people showed up. She said her son gave Palin a Washington Capitals jersey.

"She saw me in my Capitals jersey and gave me a thumbs up and said ‘hockey mom!’" Boyle said of Palin.

"When she was announced she just struck a chord with so many women who not only find similarities with her but also really look up to her for being so successful at what she’s doing being able to balance family and work and politics," Boyle said.

"She’s just someone whom we identify with and admire," she said.

Here is a useful resource related to Gov. Sarah Palin – the most comprehensive page of information on her record available on the Net. It includes videos of her saying her proposed $30 billion natural gas pipeline is the “will of God,” her saying a month ago she doesn’t know what the VP of the U.S. does, and her complaining four months ago that Hillary Clinton was whining about “sexist” coverage -
http://dailysource.org/palin
It has in-depth research, audio clips, videos, excerpts and links to hundreds of articles, including many from papers and TV stations in Alaska. It has rare footage, including her telling the 2008 convention of the Alaska Independence Party, whose goal is to give Alaska a vote on seceding from the U.S. to “keep up the good work.”
The level of research is unparalleled. The site’s editors include an Emmy-award winning CNN reporter, the former operating editor of the Christian Science Monitor’s web site, the former head of NPRs News Blog and the Executive Director of the Online News Association. Check it out here -

Posted by: Howard Gallas | September 16, 2008, 10:01 am 10:01 am

Being a mom has never qualified anybody for an office, this is a cover-up of arepublican dirty laundry machine. Come out clean and tell the whole truth. The challenge you have is that Palin’s house the Alaska first family is in a big mess. A person who cannot manage properly her/his family cannot manage this greatest nation on earth. God save America from McPalin.

Hockey Moms support Palin; Well isn’t that special….it’s ok she lies and is impedeing an ivestigation but hey she likes hockey.

Since when does a hockey mom qualify a person to be a president and after her last speech sure sounded like she was the top dog not mcbush. I for one do not approve of anythning she stands for , shooting animals from a plane, stopping a bridge from being completed made a lot of sense, not being there for her daughter when she wanted to bring her relstioship with her boyfriend to another level. This woman can’t even put her family first, so how is she going to put the USA first.

Posted by: Rose szymanski | September 16, 2008, 10:15 am 10:15 am

Most women want to see a female in a top national office like VP. We are all sick of being “second fiddle” to men who have proved themselves not the best when it comes to domestic issues. Women possess a brand of common sense and intuition that men just don’t have.
Go Sarah – don’t just crack the glass ceiling – BREAK IT DOWN!

the sexist comment’s earlier in the democratic run-off of obama and clinton was coming from the far lefties, not the commonsense democrats or republicans! McCain/Palin 2008 for the future and protection of America and it’s families!

Funny now she won’t respond to the probe (troopergate) like she said she would – oh wait – that’s right – this is the flip-flop party!
Also funny is that 7 of the people who are behind this probe are republicans – not democrats – so who is parnoid now?

Posted by: jozy | September 16, 2008, 10:19 am 10:19 am

BKMC – I’m glad to hear that your family was so pristine and without problems. Wow, must be nice to be perfect. Yeah, we have our share of problems in my family, but we’ve addressed those and we’re moving on. Sarah Palin’s family is just fine by me. She’s qualified because shw as in PTA, she was a mayor, and now a governor. That’s more than what you can say about yourself.

Posted by: Gina | September 16, 2008, 10:19 am 10:19 am

What even funnier is how Obama will not answer any Rezko probe questions.

linda n carolina: Linda, why don’t you learn how to play hockey then you can get in with the crowd of McCain supporters instead of that loser Obama who went behind the scenes as usual to play dirty pool with the general of Iraq. But that’s nothing new with him, he also played dirty pool to the woman running against him for the senate and he went behind the scenes with Nancy Pelosi to convince the superdelegates that Hillary couldn’t win for the democrats. Good for the website I hope McCain get the majority of women to vote for him.

indp voter: The economy is not the cause of Bush. Wake up. Its is the cause of the mortgage companies giving loans to people buying homes or condo’s that have no money down or 5% down then not being able to pay the loan later causing a foreclosure and the mortgage company and banks in the red. Bush cannot control that. People are the cause of the idiotic mistakes trying to live like the rich with a pauper’s purse. You never buy what you cannot afford. The banks and mortgage companies should not have given the loans to people with no money down or only 5% down. The same with the auto dealers. This country is in a mess because of wrong decisions made. Obama and Biden are wrong about the economy. And the stockmarket took a plunge and that’s normal. Stocks go up and down. Its been like that for years. I lost money buying United stock but who cares. Life goes on and I am not going to worry about the loss.

Obama is the biggest phony lying candidate that ever ran for office of this country. He is a wheeler dealer underhanded crook who learned the tricks of the trade from Rezko and Ayers. And the majority of the people in this country need to wake up before its too late. If you think this country is in a mess now wait and see the disaster if Obama is elected. He talks about the economy. He doesn’t know the first thing about politics or foreign policy. He is learning from his advisors what to say and what not to say. For a Harvard graduate he should be smarter than what he is.

rose – i understand, you would rather kill innocent beautiful human babies and then then trash their bodies in the dumpster, but that’s your choice, not their’s . by the way, hunting is legal just like abortion! the difference is that the wild game killed is also skinned and prepared for by both the father and mother for food for their family without waste, now that is value’s and also a GOD given right, not killing babies. i only believe in abortion to the point that the baby is already deceased in the
womb with no human interference, not because the women is physically having complications and may die giving birth even though the baby will survive and she dies. a women who would rather die giving birth so her child will survive is already fit be a mother. now you bring up the comment that Gov. Palin should have been there for her daughter
when she wanted to take her relationship to another level with her boyfriend, is that not a personal
issue between the two, and the last i checked, they may be young and unmarried, but they are of legal age which is why you are not hearing about charge’s being pressed on any body or family, and i thought you liberal’s were about freedom of choice and privacy, where is their’s. leave those two young adult’s alone and stop showing hatred and judgemental hypocrisy.

Mrs. Phoenix: You are so right about Michelle Obama. At one time she belonged to a racist organization and never liked America. Obama was a racist at an early age hating his mother’s race. I read his BIO in the NYT month’s ago and it is very interesting. Obama is crooked and underhanded. His book Audacity Of Hope was not in his own words. It was the speech of his pastor Wright who was preaching the audacity of hope in his sermon. Obama took the speech and made a book out of it making several million. He uses people for his own benefit like the speeches of RFK. That’s where Obama got the words hope and change. Those words were in the speech of RFK when he was campaigning. He can’t do anything for himself. Let’s hope he doesn’t win this election or god will have to help America.

ALASKA LOVES SARAH for the great work she has done reforming government to work for the citizens, and AMERICA IS FALLING IN LOVE WITH SARAH for her genuine sincerity, honesty and brilliant mind.
It is time to recognize that women can do a great job, many times better than men and Sarah Palin’s record shows she is exceptional.
The Obama campaign and the liberal media is in disarray, confused and foaming at the mouth after the Maverick, John McCain chose Sarah Palin, a woman reformer for VP. Their response has been a vicious attack on Sarah ranging from insults to smearing and the sexist tactics that brought Hillary’s campaign crashing down.
Obama fractured and divided the democratic party when he rejected the choice of 18 million democrats and instead of choosing Hillary for VP, he chose an old Washington politician Joe Biden, and by this grave mistake in choice, negated the flag of “change” Obama had been waiving and replaced it with the “more of the same” one.
On the other side, The Maverick stole the mantra of change from Barack when he selected a woman reformer for VP, who has gained the respect of the State she governs as well as of the nation governors.
The McCain/Palin ticket has also given hope to all the 18 million former Hillary supporters who now have a very compelling reason to vote for the republican ticket, as a way to put their country first by electing a president that has the qualifications, experience and love for our country and at the same time elect a woman to the White House as equal partners in governance and leadership of our country.

The Litmus Test Of Intelligence.
We’re learning more and more about who Palin is. John McCain is becoming more and more irrational. Granted, in the mix of facts, fictions are just as plentiful. But, notably among the mix is the NYT’s conservative colunmist David Brooks. In his recent colunm “Experience Matters”, http://www.nytimes.com/2008/09/16/opinion/16brooks.html?_r=1&ref=opinion&oref=slogin, intellect prevails over blind loyalty.
It has been determined that we all (almost) have the right to choose. In the end, only one choice will prevail. And, the impact of the one choice over the not-chosen is unvoidable.
As the curtains are being raised on both stages, dem and repub, the choice in this election is becoming more and more of a litmus test of intelligence.

Obama should start answering questions about his shakey friends.
Til then, lay off Palin.
The media never learns–they just keep making excuses for Obama who does NOT HAVE ANY EXPERIENCE to be president.
Obama is a loser.
They guy is so stupid and egotistical, he bypassed Clinton and losing the election for the dems.
After being a life long democrat–I am changing to “independent”; and will be voting McCain/Palin.
John McCain and Gov. Palin will hopefully “reform” all the crap in Washington; left over from a republican president and democratic congress. Both are to blame.
This election is joke.
Obama couldn’t lead a boy’s scout camp.
Sad.

First of all her comment about being proud of her country in her adult life, she was talking about the excitment that was being genertaed about this election in this country. She was right, we have so many more people who has taken an active interest in politics. This election has become one of the most exciting election in history. Now, if you want to take her comments in another direction we can go there. We are a country who also most wiped the Natives Americans ( who was here first)because we wanted it all, we enslaved a race of people and had to have a civil war, we suppressed women rights, we violated the civil rights of people, we lynched people, and on and on…….. So give me a break about being proud of everything this country has done…… If you are then God Help You.

Some are voting because its a black man who by the way is biracial. some are voting because its a women. Some are voting because their is now women.
Some are taking their right to vote and abusing it, not using it for the right reason

She knows how to work for the people or her approval rating wouldn’t be 80% in Alaska. I was a Hillary supporter as I would have been OK with either she or McCain….the other choice is UNACCEPTABLE……so I switched to McCain BEFORE the Palin addition, but this makes it even sweeter.

st – there is a malfunction with your comment’s, it’s about being proud of your country when it come’s to the good things it has done, which is fight and change all those mistakes it has created to better the lives of all Americans and prosper as a united country. we may have problem’s were facing today, but that is today’s problem’s, and they can be fix, just like all of the other mistakes you mentioned! stop living in the past unless that’s what you want. i thought obama is for change, well, he has nothing to do with the problem’s this country faced then, he’s facing the problem’s of today just like McCain/Palin are whether you agree with either side or not. each side has idea’s about change which is the great thing about this country i love. but to show hate and distrust toward’s another sides suggestion, just show’s what you really know about American history! every time this nation has faced a problem, it came together and fixed it only when the two side’s decided to do so, and yes not everyone will still agree with coming together. but thats the point, when the people who wanted changed for all American’s came together, things were fixed and the nation was blessed for it whether you believe in GOD or not! the one’s who did not come together in tough time’s have and always will go down in American history as the one’s who really did not want change, but things to stay the same until their own personal self-needs were met. those people in history are the one’s who’s hatred and anger toward’s real change slows this country down in it’s time of struggles. not everybody agree’s with each other, but the one’s who really do want change do come together and are the one’s history really remember’s as the true American spirit’s that still dwell’s in this country’s soul for it’s betterment of it’s citizen’s. i have no personal hatred toward’s obama, but his change is only for only one side and not for the real change this country needs, which is why you do not see him reach-out to the other side. whether you agree with the McCain/Palin ticket or not, that is the change this country needs right now because he is reaching out to the other side for the change we need for all Americans, not the selected few or only one side. McCain/Palin 2008

It is really sad that Sarah Palin is being put on a pedestal for only one reason, she’s a woman. After watching hew interview, she reminds me of a cheerleader, running for Student Council. I’m a woman, but I want my President and Vice-President not to be like me, but better than me, especially more inteligent, more visionary, etc. Sarah Palin remarks seem catty, snide and always has to be “one up”. To vote for someone based on one componant, abortion, being a woman, etc. actually demeans Palin. If McCain/Palin win, it will be God Help America not God Bless America! America Wake Up! Posted by: Mr. Incredible | September 16, 2008, 12:40 pm 12:40 pm

No matter how hard the MSM tried to smear and destroy Palin, not many people will buy those stories. There are far more stories told by People who know her, who worked with her that contradict the MSM stories. A book titled “Sarah” was published long time ago documenting her journey of reforming Alaska. That is the source of information that most people ge. the MSM media, like NYT, WaPo, and even the cable news like CNN, ABC, MSNBC, is no longer the sources of information that people trust. There has been so many negative reports about Sarah Palin, that most of my friends simply ignore them. This is the same thing about Obama’s coverage.
People don’t trust the MSM, and want to find out what the person really is on their own.
The real issue is here: Obama often performs under expectation (his debates, his town hall meetings). That reinforces people’s perception that is the media that wants him elected. But Palin performs exceeding the expectation. Then people think the media is trying to destroy her. The media is doing a disservice to the public, and in fact hurting Obama — who really is not as good as the media tried to make the public believe.

cathy – you must have really low self-esteem, that’ not a true American spirit, how can you be for change in this country but not want to change yourself for your own good. education is not for the select few. who know’s, if you educate yourself and gain more self-esteem, you might just see that you may be smarter than those around and even the one’s running for office. let’s go, the better we are, the better this country is, not just by the few we elect.

Cicily: Thank you for your imput. Let me try to briefly explain why I feel the way I do. As a retired white man I have seen injustices to my race that maybe no one else see’s. #1 Health care. The Illegal aliens are bankrupting the system. #2 Jobs. Affirmative action has lost many jobs for more qualified white men & women. #3 Education. Standards dropped to keep up with the dumb ones. #4 Justice system. Liberal judges. Now for the biggest one of all. The politically correct system of demeaning and dumbing down of the American White Male. We are purpously being subgugated by the media and the commercial advertisers. Look at the majority of the news anchors, black men over white women. Advertisers, intelligent blacks over stupid white men and on and on it goes. Take some time to see if you can see the subtle depictions of what I am attempting to have you focus on. I could go on and on but this is not the proper forum for me to vent. How many draft deferments did Slo Joe Biden get during Veet Nam? Five.
Did Obami do any military service? No, but he said that, after he met the requirement to sign up for Selective Service, he thought about it. Trouble is, when he says he had to sign up, there was no requirement that he sign up.
When will the Obami lies stop?

Posted by: ricky | September 16, 2008, 1:28 pm 1:28 pm

I think Bobem is blaming the wrong thing for the “dumbing down of the American white male.” I think that started when Eisenhower picked Nixon, the worst VP choice ever made until this year. Or maybe when Bombem’s mom was denied contraceptive choice.

==Mr. Incredible my question has the same context as the questions about Obama’s service and Biden’s deferments. How long?==
I guess I don’t get it.
Obami didn’t serve. Plus, he lied about the “requirement” of Selective Service signup, that he thought about going into the military AFTER signing up.
Biden didn’t serve. He got five deferments, letting others do his service at the time his country needed him.
John McCain served honorably. 23 missions over North Veet Nam. 5.5 years POW. Refusing to be released until his buddies who were captured before him were let go, and enduring torture for his decision.
Questions about Obami and Biden concern their disgusting dishonor. Questions about McCain concern his honor.

No, Mr. I. They don’t. The questions are not about his honor but his intelligence. You see, young man, I came close to being one of the last people to have his ass put at risk in a war that should never have been fought which a Republican lied about ending to get elected. Mr. McCain says he knows how to get Bin Laden just like Nixon had a plan to end the war and get McCain out of Hanoi. McCain may have learned to love his country in Hanoi, but he did not learn much else.

Mr. Bombem, it is not equal from either side, I see your point about affirmative action, but ask yourself why these things were put into place, I feel at ONE time it was well needed, at a time when individuals would take one look at you and decide you do not qualify because you happen to be another race, NOT from another country, but from another race. I do feel that affirmative action is being misused, and by the way Affirmative was put in place for African amercians, Native Americans, Obese and Women just to name a few. The Illegal aliens is not the only reason for joblessness, the Majority of our big companies are closing her and opening over seas, they are cutting jobs here to keep the jobs overseas, its not just the ones crossing our borders, its the ones leaving our borders.
As far as education, I do blame the parents, who allow the miseducation to go on, I was always raised to believe that its not just the school or school administrations job to educate me, that my whole house would have to take an interest in my education, and if I wasnt getting the necessary education at school then they did something about it, not just complaine.
NOW, as an American, born and raised, I see the injustice on both sides I see how things that were supposed to be used to uplift people are being misused, I hold no ill well for the sins of our fathers black or white. But I decided for my self and my family that we will do what is necessary to uphold our parts to be good citizens, to pay our taxes (just like everybody else), to uphold and follow local law (like everybody else), to make sure I raise my children with respect and honor (like everybody else). My Grandfather, My Grandmother, My father My Mother all worked in their careers and jobs before Affirmative Action took place, they worked to get to where they were. I was always taught that to get what I want I would have to work harder then the next man or women, not based on race or sex, but just sure drive And thats what I aim to pass on to my HEIR

Where are the news media investigative units? Why aren’t they as enthusiastic about THAT side of the story? It’s cuz they are out to get Palin, that’s why.

Posted by: Cicly | September 16, 2008, 2:31 pm 2:31 pm

Why is the “bridge to nowhere” story going only so far as to focus on Palin’s change of mind on the bridge, and not on the fact that the 223 million dollar bridge inflated to over 400 million dollars, and that this is why she decided against it and in favor of other transportation projects Congress approved the 223 million for? Congress sent Alaska the money, and she kept it cuz Congress told Alaska to use it, then, for other transportation projects.
So, where are the big shot, high-horse-ridin’, bug mouth, network investigative units on this? Where are all the stories and interviews on it?

Mr. Incredible, if you call a congenital spinal defect that caused the Army to reject me a privelege, that is, to use your phrase “your opinion.”
That we should never have taken over the role of French colonial imperialism in Vietnam is indeed my opinion. We began under Eisenhower, by the way. My opinion is reinforced by the fact that after years of prolonging and escalating the war to include the destruction of most of Indochina and his re-election, Nixon signed a treaty which effectively surrendered South Vietnam to North Vietnam. The latter defered executing the takeover until Nixon had already resigned in disgrace. Ford ended the American involvement by sending in the helicopters to evacuate the embassy.
The seeds of war were planted by a Republican, cultivated by one Democrat,
harvested by another, then the fields were burned down by Nixon. Republicans presided when we lost. Fact. John McCain, the son and gradson of two admirals, followed his father into service, got shot down, and was kept in prison too long in a war caused by misjudgement and prolonged for political gain. Millions dead. There were few heroes. McCain’s an honorable
survivor. He should have learned from that. He has not.

The Litmus Test Of Intelligence – Epilog.
As in the reality show “Survival”, gamemanship in this presidential election is probably under-appreciated.
The scoop: The most intelligent contestant will rally the mass to follow him un-intelligently and unquestionably.
YES! If you can get all the dumb people to vote for you and win the election, and, to add insults to injuries, your way of running the gov will affect ALL, not just those who vote for you.
This is ok.
Except, sadly, as Karl Rove put it, he got GWB to win the elections, not how he ran the country.
Apparently, the skills needed to win is not the same skills needed to “spend” the winning wisely, duh. Unless, you think we’re doing great in the last 8 years (I must acknowledge that you exist).
Well, game on! Survivors ready! Fifty-plus days left, who will be voted out this round?

I am glad that we have smoked out both Bombem and Mr. Incredible as two white men who want black people to go back to Africa. Bombem and Mr. Incredible are unfortunately the very representatives of the white race that will make it very difficult for their ancestors when white’s resume their historical role as a minority in America. This is estimated to happen in 2042. It would be sooner if we adopt the McCain-Kennedy immigration plan.

==I came close to being one of the last people to have his ass put at risk…==
So, you were 1A until you reported for induction — the very last minute — where they found out that you have a CONGENITAL spinal defect??? Would that defect have make you 4F long before you you got any notice to report for induction???? Would they have sent you a draft notice if you told them long before that you were 4F for a spinal defect???
In other words, if you were close, then you were 1A. If you were not close cuz-a a congenital spinal defect, they would have known that and you would have been 4F and not at “risk.”
What’s wrong with this picture timaaaa7 and bombem?

Mr. Incredible–
st: if it’s so bad in America why the hell don’t you and all the other American haters book passage back to what ever African nation you can claim a heritage to. I’ll tell you why not, “FOOD STAMPS”, and take Michelle and Hussein with you.==
If they went to Africa, they might have to work for their food, give up their cars for donkey-driven carts and walk around half naked and in a daze all day.
THAT COMMENT MY FRIEND MAKES YOU NOT ONLY RACIST, BUT COMPLETELY UNFAMILIAR WITH AFRICA… You seem to be only familiar with some of the things they show you on TV, you ought to know with the news and with TV, believe only half of what you see, if you want to make comments that have some truth to them if you want to be taken seriously, check it out first.
by the way we have people here, black and white that are walking around half naked and in a daze,

==I am glad that we have smoked out both Bombem and Mr. Incredible as two white men who want black people to go back to Africa.==
We don’t “want” them to go back. However, it seems to us — and I hope bombem doesn’t mind my taking the liberty to speak a little for him — that, if a person doesn’t like it where he is, he would get the itch to move to where he be mo’ comfo’table and welcomed.
However, you want them to be uncomfo’table and chock full o’ complaints. That’s the Lib way of doing things.
== Bombem and Mr. Incredible are unfortunately the very representatives of the white race that will make it very difficult for their ancestors when white’s resume their historical role as a minority in America.==
Whites are minority now. Those who are not white are a plurality and, thus, a majority. So, now what? They gonna cut their noses off to spite their faces?

mr. incredible – i for one actually think Gov. Palin should have built the bridge-to-nowhere, because we could’ve then told the liberal’s their idea’s and dream’s are on the other side of the bridge, and then we could’ve watched them flock to, along with the bias media to report their great finding’s, and in the progress of that time put up multiple tollways on their journey back so they could feel and understand the pain of being taxed to high and much. but before they make it back to the alaskan coast, they would have found that miles(i’d say that 50 mile’s sound good) of the bridge was taken out. and on a boat off the side of the bridge V.P. Palin would be saying into a megaphone, the American people voted and wanted low taxes, so when they want to vote in the next election for a candidate to raise taxes, will bring you the happy news result’s of the election and then let the debate’s begin on trying to decide if it’s really worth opening that section back up, so, we’ll get back to ya on the next election cycle and tell ya the result’s. so yes, i am a little disappointed about the bridge not being built for that purpose. what peace and prosperity that would bring to our nation.

==THAT COMMENT MY FRIEND…==
I have to object to your loose use of the term “my friend.” I’m not your friend.
==.. MAKES YOU NOT ONLY RACIST…==
It doesn’t, except in YOUR mind.
==…BUT COMPLETELY UNFAMILIAR WITH AFRICA.==
Africa is The Third World. It is behind the times. A pig pen.

You know what you are right, I am not ashamed to admit that I was wrong in my comment on calling you racist, I just believe if you took the time out to research what you are commenting you would view some of your comments a little differently, Whites are still the Majority in this country, that is based on facts not opinion, one time Welfare is used by more white americans then any other race, thats because they are the majority race. You base your comments about wanting individuals to move back to where YOU think they orginated from because they may disagree with what you believe in, when these individuals making the comments are just as american as you, I can only speak for myself, but i know that MY family is not on welfare, that both my father, grandfather, uncles, aunts fought in wwII, vietnam, desert storm. I can tell you that my grandfather built his home from the ground up, my father mother uncles own their own home, I own my home, we all pay taxes, WE ALL work for what we have.
How would you like it if someone told you to go back from whatever african country you claim to be from, I just think that thats ignorant and disrespectful, I always thought that part of being american was to be respectful, not disrespectful because I may view things a little different from you.

==Whites are still the Majority in this country…==
No, they aren’t. There are more non-whites than whites. Actuallyu, “minorities” are majority when you take women — an official “minority” — into account.
You didn’t know that “minority” is a government designation, did you.
==You base your comments about wanting individuals to move back…==
Nobody said that they “want” anybody to move back anywhere. We said that, if somebody is dissatisfied here, THEY would want to move. The “wanting” is theirs.
==… to where YOU think they orginated from because they may disagree with what you believe in, when these individuals making the comments are just as american as you…==
Nobody denies anybody’s Freedm to express…except that Libs are trying to make Conservatives shut up. Of course, that’s not gonna happen.
==How would you like it if someone told you to go back from whatever african country you claim to be from…==
I’d go about my bidness. However, I’d have to think that, if I’m in a place where I’m not satisfied, that, maybe, I’d be better off at the place of my family’s origin where we could all cry and bitch and moan together, confessing each other’s misery and victimhood the rest of our lives.
==I just think that thats ignorant and disrespectful, I always thought that part of being american was to be respectful, not disrespectful because I may view things a little different from you.==
Then, tell your little Lib friends to stop it.

That’s right Mr. I. Draft lottery number 69. I-A. Physical at AFEES, Houston, Tx. 1972. Nobody was busting down doors to enlist. I did let the Army know I had a back problem in advance but they claimed they lost the letters and that their X-ray machine was busted the day of my physical. I got my call up notice to report in July. My roomate was inducted on the last day of the draft a few months later.
Unlike the McCain campaign’s fictitious bio of Sarah P. I have no need to make up mine. If I had wanted money to study crab sex I would freely admit it.

==So when John McCain criticized the earmarks to study Grizzly Bear DNA he was a wrong as I was to criticize Palin for wanting to study crab sex?==
Palin didn’t call for money to study crabs. She took advice from department experts who persuaded her that the study needed to be done. She did what she is supposed to do: Get available federal money for Alaska.
== Palin is right. Me and my friend McCain are wrong?==
McCain is correct to want to cause increased supervision of earmarks. Palin is correct to get as much available money as she can for her state, just like all other governors.

By the way, Libs need to get a clue what the difference is between and “earmark” and an “appropriation.”
An “earmark” is a money gift snuck into legislation.
An “appropriation” is Congress-approved money, like the 233 million dollar money that went to Alaska for that bridge whose cost inflated to over 400 million which caused Palin to change her mind about the bridge cuz the state would have had to pay too much for it. Congress sent the money anyway, saying that it should be used for transportation projects. Obami and Biden voted for it.

Sometimes I wish we were born without eyes, so people would stop playing the racist card.If they used their ears to hear what was being said instead, they would vote for a free America, and not a religious war based on color and creed. But the Roman Empire still sounds strong today. It is about repression and slavery, and power and money for the strong. At least the top 5% of the roman Empire.Does anyone recall what Jesus really taught. ‘Individual Freedom’.Look under a rock and he is there. You do not have to pay a church, to give you freedom.Sheep will follow a leader off a cliff. Do not be a sheep. vote your choice based on intelligence, not because 5% of the leaders want more money. All religion and views are free. Keep them free, unless you choose social slavery.I will choose may canidate, by which one offers me more freedom, from Imperialistic rule.Whichever that may be.

Mr. Incredible has chosen the correct name for hinself. He and I need to go back to something less taxing and just turn things over to “the experts in the relevant departments.” If they want to use tax money to study crab sex, and the feds agree, it must be OK.
However, before I go, Mr. I., please help me change my mind about my friend John McCain. Which is the correct position for McCain.
A. Bush tax cuts are wrong.
B. Bush tax cuts should be extended.
C. Martin Luther King holiday is wrong.
D. Martin Luther King holiday is right.
E. Illegal immigrants need path to citizenship and policy needs reform.
F. Illegal immigration should mean enforcing border.
G. Religious right leaders are agents of intolerance.
H. Religious right leaders are moral force.
I. Staying in Iraq 100 years is fine.
J. We must leave Iraq if they ask us to.

The job of the governor is to go for available federal money for Alaska for what they think is relevant use. Every governor does this. The feds are free to reject their applications.
Now, I’m sure that you didn’t refuse the 300 dollar rebate recently.

==Palin did say no to the bridge in the end.==
Cuz the cost of the bridge ballooned to over 400 million dollars from 223 million. Alaska would have had to pay that difference. congress sent Alaska the 223 million anyway, saying that the state could use it for transportation projects, and that’s why she kept the money. It was not politial expediency.
Obami and biden voted for that appropriation.
==And Obama relizes a total withdraw, at the moment, could be bad.==

You can start with Mattew 6:5 for the freedom movement. But you would have to read the New Testament to understand his message. To see men speaking their minds on street corners is a freedom of speech repressed by many governments.

Posted by: historyforgotten | September 16, 2008, 4:57 pm 4:57 pm

Trouble is that, when somebody says that there are many ways to the Father, people feel a kinda permission, whereas, when somebody says that we are all children of God, it’s wrong but not as bad. Still, a person who is born again ought to know these basics.

==You can start with Mattew 6:5 for the freedom movement.==
(Mat 6:5) And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
Has ZERO to do with “individual freedom.” It has to do with praying ONLY to show off to those watching, like going to church, just to be seen, thinking that that will buy you an E-ticket to Heaven.
In other places of the NT, It says that we are not to follow the traditions of men, not to please men, and THIS is the meaning of 6:5, that we are to be Righteous, not unrighteously Righteous.

Can you read Hebrew and Greek as well as Latin? Do you know Latin, changed many meaning of the Greek phrases. The Christian church has divided many times based on the Latin translations of Greek manuscripts. How many denominations of Christianity are there. Jesus knew it would happen which is why he states to find God in your own heart, not because someone says you must pray this way or that.

No Candidate should use a religious platform, for a political posistion. It proves they can not seperate church and state. All candidates have used it, but should not declare a War by his name. That’s what extremist do, when killing innocent bystandards.

A life of a child is hell without a mother. Kids have enough to deal with without that. A child that is the product of rape or incest is just as bad if not worse especially when the whole town knows it. If I had a daughter I hope she would come to me to discuss having a sexual relationship before it is done.I don’t care if she is 15, 18, or 20 she is still my daughter know matter how old she is. And going to 6 colleges in 4 years what did she do run out of beauty contest to enter??? Wouldn’t want her to put her finger on the red button to cause a nuclear war.

Her speeches are just the opposite of what MCBUSH says in his speeches so they think they can have it both ways, trouble is no mater who gets elected taxes are going up. If you don’t think so your not using your brain, we can’t keep borrowing and bailing out places like Fannie Mae sooner or later the piper is going to want paid back. Plus a war that is costing a fortune. All we did is make a bad situation worse over here

==How many denominations of Christianity are there.==
According to Jesus, one. According to the Devil, many, many. The Devill is very happy about the number of denominations. So much the better for confusion about the Word.
== Jesus knew it would happen which is why he states to find God in your own heart…==
He says nothing of the kind. God says that the heart of Man is wicked, and, so, you can’t find God there unless you know His Will.
He says that you find God in the Word, in Knowledge [capitalized to indicate God's Knowledge]. The Word was made flesh, and, so, the Word is Christ, and, so, the ONlY Way to the Father is through Christ, not your own heart, not your own understanding. Jesus said that His Words cleanse.
Quit holding the Truth in unrigheousness.

MR>INcredible I hsve seen the backlash of these kids of children and in the end all of the ones I have seen commit suicide. So in the end they are dead because they felt dead all of their lives. As for the same sex marriages one partner takes on the roll of mother or it is shared between both. But when a mother is dead and there is only a father where is the care coming from when he is alone, who is the care giver when he is working or is he a welfare father. I am glad I grew up in a two parent family, my mother was there for me while my fsther worked in a coal mine, not an easy job back in thr 40′s and 50′s’ So grow up and help not hinder the livrs we put on this earth.

I am all for having a woman as president but this woman, sad to say, is not qualified. I am sure she is a bright woman but she appears very inexperienced and is very pro-war. That combination of inexperience and aggressiveness could be tragic for the world should she ever become president. Our next president needs to exercise restraint and diplomacy. She exhibits neither. She needs to be able to move confidently in the international arena and I don’t think she is capable of it, at least right now. She may be a hockey mom but do we want a hockey mom as president?

JUST THINK OF PALIN AS PRESIDENT
Gov.Palin does not have the proper judgement to be President of the United State of America! The shameful thing is that she knows it and McCain knows it!The only foreign policy experince she has. Is that she can see Russia from Alaska! THAT IS IT! Think about her going up against the President of Russia or the President of the Russian Federation. Or having to deal with the Iraqi government. Gov.Palin has to be truthful for the country and just tell the truth about her judgement or lack of it. This country already voted in a idiot (PRESIDENT BUSH) that cause the needless death of American troops. And started two war that should have only been one! How will Palin deal with the many Americans losing there home and jobs. Giving taxs breaks to the rich NEVER WORKS!And that is the only plan McCain has. McCain is too old and out of touch with America and the world. He said he does not know how to use a computer. Now he is saying it’s because of his injury as a POW! THAT IS BULL! People without arms and are blind use the computer daily. McCain will say and do anything to be President BUT ”’Tell the truth! Palin is a token female BRAINLESS & STUPID…Just like McCain and Bush!

Posted by: Tyone | October 9, 2008, 10:58 pm 10:58 pm

as a woman, a mother, the most innate concern you have is the care for your child…..palin DOES NOT CARE for her child, her “special needs” child is cared for by others…not her…and her one of her children was clearly having sex instead of applying herself in areas where most intelligent mothers would prefer their daughters to be…maybe palin should have stuck around on the weekends instead of hunting and killing foxes and wolves…and if you think for a second she can relate to “y’all” sitting around the kitchen table worrying about college costs…GET A CLUE, not one of her offspring is headed in that direction….don’t be stupid…look at substance, intelligence, experience, competence and you will see the voids…

Okay decided to read some blogs. Just a comment to a few of the above who are under the misconception that Palin is, I quote “running for President or holding the highest office.” Last time I check she was running for vice president. Obama on the other hand is running for president with no experience.

Posted by: M in Alabama | October 10, 2008, 3:09 am 3:09 am

I listened to Frank Shaffer this morning on NPR, he is right on. Sarah Palin is very dangerous. She is expounding hate in a time of economic decline and uncertainty. Times are tough. It’s very easy for the general public to line up behind a “hate campaign” performance. But such an alliance I hope our country does not succumb to. We are Americans, we are better than that. American was founded on tolerance, acceptance of all, and freedom for all. We do not need to align with a fanatical evangelist during times of economic hardship who is telling us who is “bad” and who is “good”. American troubles are every ones, we will all work together to solve these economic woes. We do not need to repeat what happened in Germany in the 30′s when a charismatic leader, with little economic or academic training took over and built a power base on hate and force that the world had to band together to break apart. WE DO NOT NEED TO REPEAT THAT HORRIBLE HISTORICAL EVENT ON OUR OWN SOIL. America was the leader in breaking up the Nazi regime. If we allow similar unqualified people expounding hate and lies to become our leaders, here, in America, the base of freedom and tolerance, who will help us?
