Barack & Bill: From Cold War to Cool Peace

Barack Obama and former President Bill Clinton are moving from a cold war to a cool peace. Clinton is out there campaigning with Obama in these final days in several states including Florida, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia. He and Obama campaign together tonight at a rally in Florida for the first time. Obama has been praising the Clinton record more and more in his speeches, something he hasn’t done before. Obama has also been reaching out to Clinton privately more and more, sources tell ABC News. He called Clinton a couple of times during the financial crisis and consulted with him after President George W. Bush announced that he would have the foreign leaders come to deal with the financial crisis after the election. So Obama is reaching out more and more, and while there’s still some healing to be done, the relationship is getting much better. –George Stephanopoulos

We should all be thankful to Obama for shutting down the corrupt Clinton era in politics! Thank God he (and the Democratic party) sent Hillary packing! Thank you Hillary fans for realizing the wonder of Obama and for supporting him now!

Most Polls now show Obama with a lock on 25 states and Wash DC .. that is more then enough Electoral votes to win it .. if he can win Ohio, Colorado, NC, Nevada and Pennsylvania he will probably end up with about 350 electoral votes

To the Press:
Please check into a story pertaining to Credit Card Fraud. Scott Johnson, a Minneapolis attorney was just on Fox stating that Obama is not screening credit card donations.
What that means is that voters can buy a prepaid card and donate to his campaign.
The month Obama received 150 million dollars of donations a doner named “Hitler” even donated to Obama.
Please investigate this story.

I loved this infomercial. I related and had tears in my eyes. I have been temping for 2 years. I need a full-time job with benefits. I am one of those people and my husband also who put off going to the doctor. We have exhausted our 401k. We are encouraged and inspired.
I appreciate someone willing and wanting to fight for middle class America. We have not had a voice for Eight years. We have survived. If Obama can deal with the attacks for 6 more days, he can count on me and my families and those with the same story to vote him in the White House. I love this country and I love these people so much, we do have the strength to fight against the attacks and SMEARS for 6 more days.
OBAMA/BIDEN 2008 – You ignored us for 8 years. We have suffered more than any Americans since the 1930′s. We will ignore you on November 4th. We deserve a president for all of the people and not just a lying plumber who’s trying to get a book deal.

I will vote for Obama, because I do not want the same of the last 8 years and that is what we will get with McCain. And the Republicans do not care.

Its hard to find a more revered and loved American than Andy Griffith. When I think of a true American I think of him. Andy Griffith stands for truth and wisdom, and has been considered a faithful veteran, and someone who would never support communism. Andy grew up when the world was under attack by nationalism, and then he was a part of our national fight against communism. Often during his show, The Andy Griffith Show he would teach us lessons on right and wrong, and what the true American way is. His son in the show, famed director Ron Howard is also considered an American icon, and someone you can trust to do the right thng for America. Ron and Andy have put their support behind Barack Obama for President, because they believe he represents the BEST for America. They would NEVER support someone who didnt love this country as much as they do, nor would they support someone who was a threat to us all. Lets all be like Andy Griffith and vote for Barack Obama! Lets make America the America that Andy Griffith believes in! Obama/Biden, as American as apple pie!

remember what happened to poor old jimmy carter for daring to speak ‘off script’ he didn’t get a podium at the democratic convention-and instead got a little clip and walk-by and wave.

If Obama wanted to emulate McCain’s attack ads, we would hear robocalls in the Heartland informing America’s patriots that McCain:
a) was in the pocket of former Lincoln Savings & Loan president and convicted criminal Charles Keating;
b) was buddies with fellow convicted criminal Republicans Ted Stevens, Tom Delay, Scooter Libby, Bob Allen, Trent Lott, Jack Abramoff, Don Young, Larry Craig, Randy “Duke” Cunningham, Tom Feeney, Alberto Gonzoles, Bob Ney, Rick Renzi, Richard Curtis, Steven Griles, Mark Foley…etc;
c) accepted political donations from the Watergate convicted criminal G. Gordon Liddy;
d) picked a runningmate mired in scandal (Troopergate) and has acted “unethical” according to her own people – - and doctored expense reports to bilk her taxpayers;
e) gave up information to his communist captors in North Vietnam, whereas other American prisoners did NOT;
McCain has a lot to answer for. You can’t call yourself a patriot while voting for criminals.

TJ,
Obama has mobilized millions of Americans. They know where the campaign contributions came from.
This campaign wasn’t financed by big business, as has been the case with so many U.S. presidential campaigns in the past.
No, it has been financed by ordinary Americans.
That’s why b.s. stories like yours are simply not being bought and the polls favor Obama.
I’m glad that Bill Clinton has signed on to this movement. It will help him cement his place as one of the greatest presidents of the 20th century.
Expect Hillary to get a good cabinet position, such as Secretary of State, which will help her prepare for 2016.
Obama intelligently chose an older Biden, who probably won’t be tempted to run in 2016, leaving room for Hillary.

I remember when he moved those graphics straight from his DFA website to the DNC website.
He took a lot of flak from the DLC types, but he stuck to it. And today, the race is being fought almost entirely on what was once thought to be untouchably red turf.
Good job, Howard Dean!

And one of the best side effects – after hopefully electing Obama – is that the Republicans will be forced to stop pandering to the religious right extremists and start looking at America as a whole, if they want to win elections.

You are simply brilliant when it comes to reporting and being candid and fair to both sides. I trust your judgement and value your assessment. All the best.

Its not just Georgie boy. The entire media has just lost its marbles and STUMPED for Obama full time. MSNBC has been Obama headquarters since Jan 3rd and nobody even bothers complain about it anymore because its a broken record.
Whats so funny is that when Obama actually has to do something and be president, we have saved all these tapes of ‘getting a thrill up his leg’ so that when Obama is out of favor we can remind them all how utterly BIASED they were to get him elected in the first place.

Obama and his supporters called Bill Clinton a “racist,” and I’m sure he’ll never forgive Obama for that. Bill and Hillary are standing up for their party, not Obama. If the Clintons want any future in politics, they must do this, no matter how distasteful it is. I think most people understand this. As a long-time Clinton supporter (of both Clintons), I feel they should have stood up to Obama and refused to support his illegitimate campaign.

There is no real change in Obama’s speeches, nor in President Clinton’s advise. They have no solutions to world problems we created by ignoring God’s wisdom. Now Michelle tells us proudly that Barack, like a good father, read four huge Harry Potter witchcraft, socerer books to his very young daughters. King Saul was rejected as king for disobedience and going to a witch. This cannot make us a better nation.
Here is real change we can believe in. Bible, Isaiah 2:4 says “They shall beat their swords into plowshares… and learn war no more.”
The candidates plans of rebuilding the military, building alliances to fight other people’s wars, enticing more people to enlist and prepare for war, and giving better benefits is not change. If we turned from our employment lifestyle that causes stress, pollution, disease, accidents, afflictions, wars and conflicts, we would not need universal health care, social services like welfare and pre-kindergarten child care.
Alliances would not be need if we turned from our lifestyle of building military weapons, manufacturing, processing, and transporting food, goods, and people around the world to creating a garden paradise that supplies our needs in our communities. God’s plan is ours when we release the past polluting, bondage and stress producing lifestyle behind.
Barack Obama would be a charismatic leader who, if he could, would make us prosper like Bill Clinton did; but we would still be working away from families, buying insurance, dealing with daily stress of child care, college tuition, sons in military, conflicts over abortion, marriages, and religion.
Independence from foreign oil will still make us dependent on local energy suppliers. We will still be complaining about energy costs. There is no real change until we really change direction toward creating a true freedom and independence by creating a garden paradise. That solves all world problems at the same time. This is what God meant when He said, “Come out” in Revelation 18.
The facts are that John McCain will be better able to talk with Muslim leaders, though he might not even realize it yet.
Muslims – Islamists are fighting a Holy War for holy principles. They do not want the indecency, immodesty and immorality that democracy brings with it. They do not want abortion rights, same gender unions and other things the Qur’an and the Bible condemn. The primary message of the Qur’an is to follow the whole Bible of 600+AD (Qur’an 5.68, 69; 42.14-16, Ahmad. Numbers) Jesus agreed in Matthew 4:4 (live by Every word of God).
Barack Obama and his Democratic Party refuse to fight against abortion rights and same gender unions. John McCain and his Republican Party promise to overturn the right to an abortion. Further to John McCain’s credit is that he chose a strong woman of the Bible to be his Vice-President assuring an openness to turning to God’s ways. There will be something to talk about when they meet Muslims face to face when we are willing to do things according to God’s word.

That is what reporters do. Its not clad in stone and holy because they say it. You need to take your emotions out of this picture and grow up…stop hating on Obama beause McCain is not winning! If he is president there is nothing you can do about it…he will be YOUR president under YOUR country whether you like it or not…most of you people are so silly and immature when it comes to this race! Good Morning All,
As I watched Obama’s 30 minute Ad last night, I was impressed with the grace and attention to facts only in this message. I for 1 thought Mcain was a very intelligent, accomplished politician that I respected. Since his strategy and Palin has focusef only on character attacks and misleading the public, I have become fearful of the direction he will take if elected. I do believe from his own actions that we will see 4 more years of destructive, Bush policy.
Consider Obama’s ad as a due dilligence.
Facts, directly above board education as to where he stands and if you watch the body language, total and complete dedication to what his goals are.
I am more impressed than ever.
Plain and simple truth is that we need this new approach. Our political system just doesn’t work and a fresh start is imperative.
Not one word slamming or finger pointing his opponent.
Total ethics! Go Obama!!!!!!
If you read Rolling Stones articles on facts and comparisons it will blow you away.
On the fence no more.
I will jump on the bandwagon to help achieve success after Obama is elected.
This is the first time in my life I have felt so strongly that I find myself praying for his success. I have never before mixed prayer with politics.
He is truly an inspiration for voters and for our children who will suffer as a result of our chices made over the last several years.
hat a wonderful role model!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All that proves is that they’re all a bunch of liars and hypocrites. They were down on each other and now they’re buddy buddy. What a bunch of crap! But you know what they say, birds of a feather flock together!

Bill Clinton what makes you think you can control Obama? Really–Has anyone controlled Obama (other than his wife)?
Bill you say–Obama is the new way–He has the new way to compaign–YEP–OBAMA WENT BACK ON HIS WORD ON PUBLIC FINANCING–WENT BACK ON HIS WORD TO RAISE FUNDS THAT COULDN’T BE TRACED–FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD DUE TO THE GREAT INTERNET–YOU SAY–HE IS CLEVER!
I guess that it takes one to know one!
YEP–Bill==you know the word clever all too well! If I were you, I would keep my mouth shut! America is better off!
Hillary would have been a great President! Hillary was not treated with respect by the media–and at what risk will you Bill–place a man like Obama in the White House to pursue the world’s best most wanted terrorists–Just picture this: OBAMA CHASES OSAMA THROUGH THE HILLS OF AFGHANISTAN–ONLY TO FIND OUT–OBAMA CHANGED HIS MIND–TURNED OUR TROOPS BACK AROUND TO BE SURROUNDED BY WHOM!
Answer that one BILL

Stanley…thorfinn, you fool there is no tape like that you are a Republican blogger out there to spread lies.==========Maybe you need to do some research. The LAT admits to possessing this tape. They did a piece on it when they acquire the tape but promised not to release the tape to protect their source. This tape does exist.

I can see it now. Bill and Hillary will go into the voting booth, pull the curtain closed, let out a deep breath, pull the lever for McCain and SMILE! They feel better right away!

Look.. Obama knows how to “reason”. I expected this! That’s why I like him so much. Our enemies can become our friend. Peace not war. He can bring us together. Obama 08

Yes, let’s try reasoning with terrorists who would rather kill innocent women and children than look at them. That makes a lot of sense. Obama and his leftist illuminati ideals will cause our enemies to salivate at the thought of picking on us.

The GOP are trying to make Obama a communist, socialist and a terrorist, to miss credit his character, because they have no ideas on how to fix America problems they have created. GOP is leaving America with two wars, 700 billion deficit and 11.3 trillion in debt.
Smart of Obama to campaign with Bill Clinton, who was the most successful president ever, with a balanced budget and plenty of good jobs.

Dems kept saying on oil – we can’t drill our way out of this. But on the financial crisis, the Dems think they can tax their way out of it.
So even Biden admits the world thinks of Obama as weak and will challenge him right away.
Obama proved he lies when he publicly stated he would use public financing for a decent election but reneged and will end up spending, with their convention etc. over $1 billion to buy this election.

Did George not talk about what Clinton said today about Obama. Clinton talked about how Obama called him for help in the Bailout, he said he didnt have a clue as to what to do so he asked Clinton. Wow what a slap in the face. Clinton does not want him elected because he knows that will hurt Hillary’s chances in 4 years.

Posted by: tim | October 30, 2008, 6:00 pm 6:00 pm

Birds of a feather flock together…..now here is a duo we as Americans be proud of…..Clinton, a dis-barred lawyer for lying to a federal judge, sex pervert (cigar into Monica’s treasury), wife-cheater, and who has the distinction of lying to 90 million television viewers about having made a deposit with the aforementioned treasury. Lest not forget his lying about his affairs to get elected in 92′. Obama HUSSEIN on the other hand is more open about his lying to the American people because he knows that most if not all of his supporters can’t do math. 430 billion is annual spending minus the 30 billion that the top 5% tax filers pay = A MIDDLE CLASS SCREW!!!!

Posted by: Aroleflin | October 30, 2008, 6:31 pm 6:31 pm

Johnny,
Clinton had a Republican Congress which is why the liar Clinton had a surplus. Congress spends money not the President. Why are you people so stupid out there.

Ok Here’s the senario. It’s 5 minutes before the polls close in New York and the vote is exactly tied. Bill and Hillary Clinton are the only two people who haven’t voted. Does ANYONE think Obama would win

Wow, typical republicans, blame the other side even when you have caused your own demise. 8 yrs. of neo-con rule under “W” is enough. double the national debt, total dishonesty with the country, taking away all of our civel liberties, not that any of you republicans care about the constitution anyway. No more, no more mushroom clouds. no more yellow cake from niger. no more wmd. no more liars. sorry republicans. your time is over. time for a real perminant majority. the democrats. the conservative movement is dead, long live the republican party.

Exposure to modern values has a great penetrating force—it opens the eyes of people that have been blinded by centuries of ignorance and has made the Middle East more dangerous than a hornets nest. Outsiders are wise to keep their distance because the Middle East hates foreigners interfering in their regional, religious, and political affairs. But there is nothing to worry about because even if religious radicals gain control there would never be an Islamic superpower. Only if they had a nuclear bomb would they be dangerous. That is why the United States must make sure that Islamic nations are nuclear free. Even Pakistan should not be allowed to posses nuclear arms. Fortunately they will remain weak and divided. Oil is all they have and it must be exported to buy food. Despite their dreams of financial independence they will always need industrialized nations as customers to survive.

Arabs: Obama ‘One of Us’
While Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama “has tried to push his origins into the background, his ‘Islamic roots’ have won him a place in many Arabs’ hearts.”
That’s the observation of Iranian-born commentator Amir Taheri, whose column in Tuesday’s New York Post notes that many Arabs and other Muslims see Obama as “one of them.”
Story continues below . . .
They see that Obama has Arabic-Islamic first and middle names: Barack means “blessed” and Hussein means “beautiful.” His last name is Swahili, an East African language based on Arabic, Taheri writes. His sister is named Oumah, Arabic for “the community of the faithful;” his daughter Malia bears the name of a daughter of the noted Caliph Othman; and his father and stepfather were both Muslims.
Although Taheri did not note it, Obama was raised partially as a Muslim when he lived in Indonesia with his mother and stepfather. While there, he studied at two schools and was registered at both as a Muslim student.
As such he received Islamic religious instruction, studied the Koran, and prayed with other students. He did attend mosque, albeit infrequently, with his stepfather.
Obama’s religious upbringing after Indonesia is somewhat of a mystery until his late 20s. At that point, Obama says he converted to Christianity after meeting the Rev. Jeremiah Wright in Chicago.
Still, Obama has maintained strong support from American Muslims, including Louis Farrakhan’s Nation of Islam movement. Farrakhan has endorsed Obama and has called him the “messiah.”
These factors have made Obama a big hit in the Arab world, where he has received wide praise, including:
The Syrian regime has indicated its preference for Obama. Buthaina Shaaban, an adviser to President Bashar al-Assad, has written: “The change suggested by Obama is essential not only for the U.S. but for the entire human family.”
Libyan leader Muammar al-Qaddafi called Obama “a Muslim” and said: “All the people in the Arab and Muslim world and in Africa applauded this man. They welcome him and prayed for his success,” although Qaddafi also expressed criticism of Obama’s comments on the future of Jerusalem.
Hamas political adviser Ahmed Yousef said this year: “We like Mr. Obama and we hope that he will win the election.”
Hezbollah’s second in command, Sheik Naim al-Kassim, urged Americans to vote for Obama as a step toward peace with Islam, and pro-Hezbollah columnist Amal Saad-Ghorayeb said there is “no doubt Arabs should welcome an Obama presidency,” according to Taheri.
In Saudi Arabia, commentator Hussein Shobokshi wrote that an Obama presidency “would mark an important moral transformation in the superpower and is a healthy indicator of the long-awaited improvement in the international arena.”
Some columnists also have noted Obama’s close ties to several Palestinian radicals, including Columbia University Prof. Rashid Khalidi — former communications director for the Palestinian Liberation Organization — and another Palestinian political activist, the late Edward Said.
The “Arab street” also favors Obama. Recent surveys found that he is the preferred candidate in Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, Algeria, Syria, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.

On November 4th, intelligent Americans will choose their President, and 95% of them did not read the posts of some of the most deranged comments I have ever read. Thankyou to the few who did post intelligent, thoughtful comments that bring us together as a people. I cannot believe that some of these people that posted here ever say the pledge of allegiance.. that all men are created equal, with liberty and justice for ALL…..not just for a few. Bullying, threatening, degrading language – let’s scroll and see which candidate THOSE people are supporting – because that is the kind of person they want to be their leader, a bully. Time to get out of the sandbox and grow up. This is serious business – we need COOL heads to make the serious kind of decisions that will affect us and our children and our grandchildren. This is not a game of who has the most marbles, or the most muscles – we need a compassionate, intelligent person to lead us for the next 4 years! God Bless America and ALL of its people!

Well for some reason, one of my blogs was wiped out cuz I listed my academia credits, Masters in Political Science. I hope George didn’t think I was challenging him. Can we ever get above dissing the Clintons? I feel the Democratic party did come together this year and we all stand strong on similar issues, unlike Palin who uses her right wing agenda to propagate. McCain isn’t even sure what his convictions are besides military might and I think the Dems should pat themselves on the back alittle for nominating someone as straightforward as Eugene McCarthy in the sixties. Even though Hubert Humphrey was the nominee in 1968 and was powerful in his own right, he didn’t really openly condemn the Vietnam War. The basis of new government must start with recreating liberalism in foreign policy matters and for those of you who don’t know that theory, it is using diplomacy and other global institutions to achieve decisions. We must work from the outside (intl) in to correct national problems and rebuild our economy and limit outsourcing. Obama has the right ideas and he is the man and no capitialistic country can deny it no matter how bad they want to cling to their swashbuckling, old school ideals.

This is a message for Marie Devine who wrote a blog about Godly office seekers. The Constitution, written by Christians, maintained the ideology to keep church and state separate. Jesus said, “Give to Cesears what is Ceasars and God to God.” Sarah Palin has a daughter who made indiscriminate choices and got knocked up. Sarah Palin, if poor, would be a burden to the state with five children. Her son, Track, was in trouble with the law, and was given the option of military service or jail. IF every permiscuious woman had children every time they got knocked up, each woman would have an average of four kids, their welfare would run out in five years under Welfare Reform and their sons/daughters due to poverty would be forced into military service where their right to life would be compromised due to reckless decisions by foreign policy advisors enter sovereign nations to defend our greed. So Let’s redefine godly with common sense. I can choose not to have an abortion even if I have a law to protect my rights. And I detest single issue voters who don’t give a crap about the 4,000 war dead or 200,000 dead Iraqis that our government has killed, intentionally or not. Where is their right to life and do they deserve our godly wrath?
