Biden Accuses McCain of Waffling on Homeowner Help Plan
ABC News’ Matthew Jaffe reports: Democratic vice presidential nominee Joe Biden started his 24-hour swing through the Show-Me State Thursday with a swipe at Republican Sen. John McCain for already changing the mortgage buy-up plan that the GOP candidate introduced in Tuesday’s presidential debate in Nashville.
“John said he was going to spend $300 billion of your tax money to buy from banks bad mortgages that they now own. And he was going to buy them, though, at a discount, an authority, meaning he wasn’t going to buy them for what the bank paid for them — he’s going to buy them for what their market value was," Biden said at Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph, Mo. "And then on Wednesday morning he said, his campaign said, ‘No, we made a mistake. We are going to buy them for exactly what the bank paid for them.’
"So, he’s going to spend $300 billion of your money so the banks don’t lose a single penny!" Biden continued. "I’m not making this up. I know it sounds like fiction, but I’m not making this up.
"That’s not bailing out the homeowner," Biden added. "You’re bailing out the bank."
In the first of his four events in Missouri over the next 24 hours, Biden cited the Republican nominee’s reaction to the economic crisis as evidence that McCain does not have "a steady hand."
"The McCain campaign continues … to lurch from one place to another, trying to convince you all that they’re capable of dealing with the incredibly difficult problem because, folks, the primary responsibility for the next president of the United States, in the first eight months to a year of his administration, is going to be dealing with this crisis, this authority we’ve given to the secretary of the Treasury to spend up to $7 billion of your money.
“Ladies and gentlemen, in a matter of months, days, even hours, John McCain has gone from first cutting regulation consumer protections from banks –- that was his initial position, cut those protections — then ignoring the banks and lenders and not even talking about them, now to talking about banks and lenders, and now he’s gone to the point of actually wanting to reward banks and lenders for their greedy behavior," Biden continued. "Ladies and gentlemen, this is not a steady hand, and the latest proposal is not only bad for taxpayers, it’s bad for homeowners and it’s bad for the economy, and everybody seems to be aware of it this morning."
The candidate at the top of Biden’s ticket, Sen. Barack Obama, said Wednesday in his interview with ABC News’ Charlie Gibson that McCain has been making “some pretty over-the-top attacks” recently, but “wasn’t willing to say it to my face” in their debate; today, Biden echoed that same point.
“All of the things they said about Barack Obama in the TV, on the TV, at their rallies, and now on YouTube, and everything else they’re doing before the debate, and all the things they’re saying after the debate as recently as this morning, John McCain could not bring himself to look Barack Obama in the eye and say the same things to him. Look, folks, Claire said, Claire said your neighborhood’s like mine. Well, in my neighborhood, when you’ve got something to say to a guy, you look him in the eye and you say it to him."
Biden was introduced by Show-Me State Sen. Claire McCaskill, who warned Missouri voters that they should expect to see the McCain campaign act “petty, small, and personal” these days.
“The oldest trick in their playbook, they’ve gone to it time and time again, the politics of fear and smear,” McCaskill said. “Now they want America to be afraid of this inspirational, smart, strong, humble, patriot, God-loving family man? That’s what they want? I’ll tell you what America should be afraid of. They should be afraid of four more years of Bush economics.”
Biden then followed McCaskill with a podium-pounding speech, promising that he and Obama would fulfill their pledges if elected to the Oval Office.
“We will keep our promises," said the Delaware lawmaker. "We will keep our promise to put the middle class first. We will keep our promise to end this war responsibly. We will keep our promise to bring significant change to this nation and bring it now! Now!" Biden exclaimed, slamming his fist down on the podium.

Biden is great – he and Obama will be outstanding in office.
Regarding McCain’s smears – I would like to know why the media has been silent on Palin’s ongoing association with the Alaskan Independence Party – a group that hates the US so much that their goal is to secede. This is beyond a double standard. Here’s the link showing video of her ties.

Had he, God of Nothingness, supported HRC’s proposal of targeted economic rescue aimed at the banking and mortgage sectors 12 months ago, had he, Zerobameus, rather than give cash to individuals, which did nothing to the down slide of the economy, and this Phony still uses to buy your votes promising to give you another $1000 if you vote for him, perhaps your retirement accounts would have been 50% better than what you have today.
Do you still support this deceptionist who does nothing, done nothing, and will do nothing, except empty promises that he will change overnight, including taking your constitulational rights of individual privacy? If you do, good luck.
You are all had.

McCain/Palin are both such an embarrasment to the American people. McCain with his ‘My Friend’ and Palin with her ‘You betcha!’–she doesn’t even use proper language–we teach our children proper language and she stands before you running for the V.Pres. of the United States using language like this! McCain is Too Old and acts and looks it-to be our Leader and Palin needs to take care of her own family–a big disappointment-son, that enlisted to stay our of jail and a drug user, a 17 year old daughter pregnant and flaunting it at the Convention-and the other 3-including a special needs child that you cannot tell me she takes care of like it should be-how can there be any sort of bonding there–Obama and Biden are two men who we can look up to and respect and be proud to call our Leaders!

Well, when the media don’t question what Obama says – it’s easy for his campaign. Did he waffle Jake? Did he really cut consumer protections a few months ago? FactCheck.Org says Obama is lying about the deregulation thing. Finally, why on Earth haven’t you guys asked Obama for his plan? He’s the savior of the “middle-class,” yet he doesn’t have a homeowners plan. They are just trashing McCain because he beat them to it and they have no alternative. But the media want to call Palin a racist instead of investigate Obama’s lack of specifics for homeowners.

Smear campaigns are only smears, when the accusations are false. Such as Todd Palin committing incest with his daughters. Trig Palin really being the son of Bristol, and not Sarah. etc..
The truth is, at least 3 of Obama’s campaign workers in high positions, have given three different versions of Obama’s relationship with Ayres..who really exists, and who REALLY was , or is a terrorist. I say is, because last year in a BBC radio interview, he still said he had no remorse for what he did.
Biden should start worrying less about McCain, and more on the letter Russia has from him, from 1979, and his comments that he doesn’t care about human rigths, (Refuseniks) and only said he did, to calm is constituents. Yet told the Soviets, quite the opposite. Hmmmm

Jeanie, give it up.
No one cares about your rediculous accusations.
McCain PARTICIPATED in stalling regulators (sounds oddly familiar doesn’t it?) so his buddy Keating could steal billions in American’s retirement funds.
McCain took over $100,000 from Keating for his campaign.
McCain VACATIONED with Keating and used his beach house.
McCAIN aided Keating to fraud Americans by interveining on his behalf.
Obama worked on a charity board with Ayres 30 years AFTER the Weather Underground and attended a fundraiser.
Obama never participated in anything to do with the Weather Underground. He was 8 years old for Pete’s sake.

I hear ya DB! It’s not like Obama’s steadfast stands such as…
1.Obama became the first major-party candidate to reject public financing for the general election after earlier promises to accept it.
2.He not only embraced but promised to expand Bush’s program to give more anti-poverty grants to religious groups, a split with Democratic orthodoxy.
3.On Iraq, Obama said Thursday that his upcoming trip there might lead him to refine his promise to quickly remove U.S. troops from the war.
And Biden isn’t mindless. He’s perfectly valid in his statements from the VP debate in saying…..
1.U.S. KICKED HEZBOLLAH OUT OF LEBANON
REGULATION: Biden falsely said McCain weakened regulation — he actually called for more regulation on Fannie and Freddie.
One is a fabrication, the other is a lie.

The prosecutor on the case , who by the way was a democrat, said…John McCain should never have been there in the first place, but the Dems wanted a republican to hang with their boys.
Obama is the socialist. The news came out yesterday. He registered as a New Party member for his run for Illinois State Senate. The New Party is a Socialist party. Ayres is a socialist. That’s why he was fighting the establisment in the 70′s and 80′s.

Buzz in the corridors of federal courts in Chicago — RICO investigation of ACORN and BHO campaign:
http://www.hillaryclintonforum.net/discussion/showthread.php?t=34745
We were told that ACORN was investigated in Illinois years ago, and it was a Fitzgerald case then. This means ACORN’s activities today, involving a conspiracy to commit multi-state voter fraud on SoetorObama’s behalf, are an extension of that previous ACORN case.
Our source in federal courts said, “Any crime that involves more than two people and is carried out across state lines qualifies as a corrupt organization. The fact that those “Goodwill” donations were made in Texas and received at Obama headquarters in Chicago or Washington means it qualifies for RICO.”
The “Goodwill donations” referred to above are the $228 million in undocumented, unverified campaign contributions the SoetorObama camp has received — which the McCain campaigned filed a complaint to the FEC on this past Monday.
We’ve also heard that the Clinton campaign filed complaints to the FBI and other federal agencies over SoetorObama’s fraud in the Iowa, Texas and other caucuses: voter intimidation, registration fraud, and other illegal activities.
The last thing we were told tonight in regards to all of this was that “the meme here is a tying together of all these various threads. That’s what you will see in the last weeks of the campaign: all things being tied together”.
If everything rumored here is true, it looks like David Axelrod, Howard Dean, Donna Brazile, SoetorObama himself, and possibly even Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid were all involved, together, in massive RICO violations, and thus federal fraud, if the DNC and party leadership knew what the SoetorObama campaign and ACORN were up to and allowed it to proceed. Knowledge of federal crimes being committed makes all parties accessories to those crimes — and part of the conspiracy to defraud the public.

Obama and Biden are criticizing McCain ONLY because Obama did not think of it first! At least McCain came up with a plan… all Obama does is TALK. He won’t put any plan out because he does not have any.
Are you going to hand over the reins to the Democratic Party that is RESPONSIBLE for this financial crisis on Wall Street? Dodd and OBAMA are the recipients of the largest donations from FANNIE MAE.
OBAMA = ACORN = SUB-PRIME MORTGAGES =FANNIE MAE = WALL STREET COLLAPSE!
Obama helped organize ACORN, who pressured the Democratic US Congress for help with low-income people. In turn, Congress pressured banks to give loans to low-income people who did not qualify and were unable to pay their mortgages. FANNIE MAE bought these bundled up mortgages. When John McCain asked for more oversight on Fannie Mae, Fannie Mae gave “donations” to Barney Frank, Chris Dodd et al to ensure that Congress prevented bills from passing.
Democrats are the cause of this crisis, and they have the gall to pin it on Republicans! If you want this country to go into a Depression, vote for Obama, so that the Democratic controlled Congress and Senate can pass bills unopposed with no checks and balances for the sure downfall of the US Economy! With the Democrats at the helm of the Executive and Legislative Branches of government, we will turn into a socialist state.

Let me ask all of you this….What is needed most right now? I will tell you…It is someone who can communicate with the public and assure them that everything will be alright…What is driving the stock market into the ditch (8900 right now) is fear. Fear breeds more fear. You fight fear with hope and calmness. And you lead by instilling that hope and calmness into others. McCain simply does not do that. He is adrift in his campaign right now. Republicans will want to blame his woes on the economy. The fact is, McCain is probably the worst candidate on either side that has run for the presidency in the last 40 years. You couple that with a lack of ideas coming from Republicans in general and you lose the election. So, when Republicans lose the election and look back on the race don’t blame the economy…blame your candidate.

From the Black Conservative Republican Caucus:
Barack Obama speaks of economic justic. “Economic justice” simply means punishing the successful and resdistributing their wealth by government fiat. It’s a euphemism for socialism.
In his latest memoir he shares that he’d like to “recast” the welfare net that FDR and LJB cast, while rolling back what he derisively calls the “winner-take-all” market economy that Ronald Reagan reignited (with record gains in living standards for all).
As a Nairobi bureaucrat, Barack Hussein Obama Sr., a Harvard-educated economist, grew to challenge the ruling pro-Western government for not being socialist enough. In an eight-page scholarly paper published in 1965, he argued for eliminating private farming and nationalizing businesses “owned by Asians and Europeans.”
His ideas for communist-style expropriation didn’t stop there. He also proposed massive taxes on the rich to “redistribute our economic gains to the benefit of all.”
“Theoretically, there is nothing that can stop the government from taxing 100% of income so long as the people get benefits from the government commensurate with their income which is taxed,” Obama Sr. wrote.
“I do not see why the government cannot tax those who have more and syphon some of these revenues into savings which can be utilized in investment for future development.”
Throughout his career, Barack Obama has worked closely with a network of stone-cold socialists and full-blown communists striving for “economic justice.”
Yet a recent AP poll found that only 6% of Americans would describe Obama as “liberal,” let alone socialist.
Public opinion polls usually reflect media opinion, and the media by and large have portrayed Obama as a moderate “outsider” (the No. 1 term survey respondents associate him with) who will bring a “breath of fresh air” to Washington.
The few who have drilled down on his radical roots have tended to downplay or pooh-pooh them. Even skeptics have failed to connect the dots for fear of being called the dreaded “r” word.
But too much is at stake in this election to continue mincing words.
Both a historic banking crisis and 1970s-style stagflation loom over the economy.
Democrats, who already control Congress, now threaten to filibuster-proof the Senate in what could be a watershed election for them — at both ends of Pennsylvania Avenue.
A perfect storm of statism is forming, and our economic freedoms are at serious risk.
Those who care less about looking politically correct than preserving the free-market individualism that’s made this country great have to start calling things by their proper name to avert long-term disaster.

Bernadine Dorhn was far more violent; she was more of a leader; and she was and is way smarter than Bill Ayers.
Bernadine Dorhn physically placed the bomb in the US Capitol. Bernadine Dorhn sang a SONG about how she paralyzed a man for life after a bombing.

HP Boston,
So, Obama is secretly a terrorist who, when elected will nominate all his terrorist friends to cabinet positions so they continue their terrorist activities against plain, simple like you? Is that what your point is? Is that Sarah Palin’s point is? Is that John McCain’s point is? I would far more leary of John McCain’s temper and well-document flare-ups (even with his own wife) than some silly conspiracy theory or six degrees of separation logic regarding Obama. And, I would very, very afraid of airhead Palin as vice-president.

Rodney….5 years of beatings, and torture, and isolation. What would you do? Could you stand it? Could you take it? Could you endure, and not give in? I will be honest, and say I couldn’t.
I have yet to hear, or see proof of this, other then someone elses words? John did admit in an interview, that they broke him. After years, of daily beatings, they broke him, and he tried to commit suicide over it, and I heard the men that were in the cell with him , concur on this account, and concur of the torture, and abuse. I read a story on this very site, of a man from Thailand, that ended up in the Hanoi Hilton, speak of what happened there as well.
Under duress, and stress, and living each day wondering if this would be the last day….can anyone say what they would, or wouldn’t do? I don’t think so. Walk a mile.
However, there is video proof of Jane Fonda helping the Viet Cong, and betraying the POW’s. I’ve never seen her tried for her betrayal to them, or her country.

Airhead Palin. hmmmm
Yet during the debate, she was right, and Biden was wrong on this issue….
AFGHANISTAN / GEN. MCKIERNAN COMMENTS: Biden said that top military commander in Iraq said the principles of the surge could not be applied to Afghanistan, but the commander of NATO’s International Security Assistance Force Gen. David D. McKiernan said that there were principles of the surge strategy, including working with tribes, that could be applied in Afghanistan.

Can anyone explain this?
Wachovia Corp., a once-thriving financial giant now teetering on the brink of collapse, confirmed today that it was extending an $8 million loan to the cash-strapped National Republican Congressional Committee for last-minute activites to support GOP House candidates.
Wachovia’s decision to lend money to the NRCC — itself reeling from a damaging financial scandal earlier this year — is sure to draw charges of favoritism, as Wachovia denies credit and freezes assets for thousands of other customers.
Allegations of favoritism are especially delicate for Wachovia, given the company’s disproportionate support of Republican campaigns and organizations.

Nobama on TV sounding confused and testy — not getting very much response from the crowd.
LOL — his sound system was not working properly and the little thug and he says, “What’s the problem with the sound system? Where’s my sound man? I’m gonna ask him to come out here, so you can see who’s messing this up…”
Yikes! The Precious was awfully quick to throw his “sound man” under that verrrrrrrrrry crowded bus!!
Must be tough to be a worker bee around such a benevolent deity.

Pollster: Don’t believe the Dem hype

The presidential race is still too close to call and could come down to the very last weekend before voters decide if they like or distrust Barack Obama, a national pollster predicts.
“I don’t think Obama has closed the deal yet,” pollster John Zogby told the Herald yesterday.
Zogby’s latest poll, released yesterday in conjunction with C-Span and Reuters, shows Obama and John McCain in a statistical dead heat, with the Illinois Democrat up 48-45 percent.

He was an officer, and not enlisted? That makes no sense.
If you’re captures, you’re captured, and a POW. I don’t think rank matters.
Jews weren’t the only victims of the holocaust. Many Christians were killed, or imprisoned, as well.
I’m not saying you’re not right, but I haven’t heard anything of this, other than accounts of others…and at the same time I’ve heard accounts of those that were with McCain and say he went thru the same torture they did, and no special treatment was given to him, and these accounts are from men, that aren’t supporting McCain in his campaign.

If Ayers is a terrorist…why isn’t he in jail? Why is he sittig on boards created by Repbulicans? Why is he allowed to teach at a University?
Why does anyone care that a guy Obama barely knows threw him a party (like he did for dozens of other new candidates) a long time ago?
My 401K just took a hit and all McCain wants to talk about is something that happened in the 60′s!?!?!?
Why are McCain and Palin be allowed to spout off this garbage when we’ve got real problems to deal with!?!?
Is anyone buying into their distraction? I hope not.

Greg,
You are absolutely right! Stock market is down to 8500 and Republicans want to talk crap about six degrees of separation type connections and conspiracy theories. Republicans just do not get it. Right now they are out of ideas and either looking to affix blame and tear down their opponents. Meanwhile, what is needed is inspiration and hope that things will be better to stop the widespread fear in the markets as well as sound policy. I have heard none of that from McCain. His mortgage buyback policy was thrown together in an attempt to pander voters and it backfired. I really do wish this campaign was an exchange of competing ideas and platforms but Republicans do not want to participate in that. And they will lose this election. And if Republicans do not learn from this, that they must present ideas of substance then the country is going to continue to suffer. Because this country does need a two party system. What I see now are Democrats and the dying vestiges of what once was Republicanism.

WHO CARES they both voted for the WALL St. bailout!!! These bastards don’t give a rat’s about you or their constituents. Haven’t you folks realized it YET! Too bad you won’t get the clue until the “Obama brigades” are unleashed upon you. Or “Insane McCain” invades Iran and starts another Cold War with Russia who we need to get oil from. It’s over we are ALL screwed now. Either financially with Obama’s spending. Or militarily with John’s endless wars of agression. WAKE UP, America is done for. Why do you think we’re about to be dissolved into the North American Community/Union? You better wake up folks. When they bring in the Amero and you will get 0.10 for every 1.00 you have while the FDIC can’t even insure 100 bank failures, let alone the coming 1,000+. It’s over. Who cares who get’s in office. We’ve already lost everything their is to lose. And now China and Russia, and the Middle East Arab oil kings will buy up our resources and privitize our utilities for their private monetary gainsm just like the IMF does in the Third World. Russia’s empire failed without firing a shot. Ours will fail because of it.
