Biden: Americans Not Buying McCain’s “Halloween Costume” of “Change”
ABC News’ Matthew Jaffe Reports: Sen. Joe Biden, D-Del., Friday crossed West Virginia to Virginia, bringing with him his new “Halloween costume” attack on Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz.
“I know Halloween is coming,” the Democratic vice-presidential nominee said in Danville, VA. “I know it’s coming, but this takes change, the notion of change, to the extreme. I mean look, this change costume is one that the American people are not going to buy on John McCain’s body.”
“Ladies and gentlemen, I never saw a guy run so far so fast from a sitting president in my whole life,” Biden continued.
“And George Bush, I’m told, came out today and voted early and said he voted for John McCain,” added Biden. “I guess that’s called returning the favor.”
In Danville, Biden emphasized to voters that the number of visits the Democratic ticket has made to the area is a testament to how competitive they are in this region of Virginia.
“If nine visits between the two of us, Barack and me, doesn’t demonstrate how clearly Barack Obama and I plan on competing, competing for every single vote here in central, southwest, southeast Virginia, throughout all Virginia, I don’t know what I can say folks,” Biden noted before the crowd of 600. “We need ya.”

What about explaining how your President is going to turn around our current economic troubles…I am beginning to think you really have no clue as to how obama is going to do it..Is he to be tested on his issue as well because raising taxes and spending will only increase our chances of falling into further trouble..

Humility, keeps him calm? The same humility that ok’d the building of a Greek temple, at the cost of 5.3 million, to give a speech?
The same humility that garnered him almost half a billion since the primaries?
The same humility that’s charging the press a pretty penny to cover his election night activities?
The same humility that admits when he’s wrong?
The same humility that that spent $105 million in 2 weeks?
The same humility that pays the women on his campaign staff less than McCain pays the women on his?
The same humility, that disabled an installed security device, so they could accept contributions from John Galt, Saddam Hussein, Nodda Realperson?
The same humility when going back on his word, and opting out of public funding?
The same humility that wants to redistribute others wealth (stealing), when he gives so little of his own to charity?
The same humility that espouses wanting to help the working man, then mocks him for simply asking a question, when his answer was what caused all the hooplah?
The same humility that hung around Ayres, even knowing his past?
I sense more tricks, then treats on this one.
Wasn’t it Biden who said today…..the Bush administration has decided to adopt Barack Obama’s withdrawal plan, too
Another outright lie, disguised as a gaffe.

Halloween may come and go with the witches, devils, and skeletons as in the past but after Obama is elected on November 4, the devil and his crew will be in charge of our great country unless people wake up.
McCain/Palin for traditional/decent American values. Obama does not represent the people who have made this country great in the past, individual resonsibility and a day’s work for a day’s pay and live within your own means, not on someone else’s hard earned money. He is just too radical. His change is DESPAIR for too many Americans. Both Joe Biden and Hillary Clinton have stated very clearly that Barack Obama is not qualified for President. Nothing has changed. His hidden agenda is that of Ayers, Rezko, Rev. Wright and Trinity Church. Twenty years of listening and learning has embedded their beliefs into his heart, soul and brain.

McCain is always wearing a mask. He puts on a false face every time he claims to want to help the middle class, when he is really for tax cuts for huge corporations.
McCain puts on a false face when he says he wants to make health care more affordable, when he really proposes taxing my presently tax free health benefits and he wants to deregulate insurance so health insurers can make even bigger profits while my insurance covers less and less and costs more and more.
McCain wears a false face when he
claims to think the whole Ayers thing is “real issue” when he knows its just an excuse to call Obama a terrorist
McCain wears a false face when when claimed to want to run a clean campaign, but has runs the dirtiest, most vile, smear campaign ever, completely devoid of issues.
And on and on….. McCain has no honor. He has been revealed as a shallow man willing to do anything and say anything to win the election.
Everyone should read the New York Times editorial endorsing Obama – It was a side by side comparison. McCain did not measure up.

OBAMA’S OCT 1-15 SPENDING = $105,599,963.76
That’s more than $293,000 an hour.
It’s also 49% of EVERYTHING McCain has spent the entire time he has been running for president ($216,769,840).
By contrast, McCain’s Oct. 1-15 spending was $9,246,618.70 (or $26,000/hr).

Ummm no he didn’t claim Obama was a terrorist. You don’t pay attention. He said Obama’s judgement should be questioned.
Have you read Ayres manifesto? In his quest to over throw the government, and turn everyone from capitalism, those that couldn’t be re-educated would be exterminated. He estimated that to be 25 million people.
Now…Obama knew about his past, yet still hung out with him. Hmmmmmmmm.
The New York Times? LOL Holy cow, where have you been? They’ve printed so many retractions..it’s not even funny. They’re losing readership , and their company is in the hole. Their stock is now considered junk!
What was once a great newspaper, and held to a high standard of being a stand between, for the people, and the government, is now a biased , hateful, waste of paper, and ink.

The mere fact this isn’t being investigated, or reported, makes all that look the other way, accessories. Knowing a crime is being committed, is the same as if you committed the crime.

I just realized something (it’s been awhile since I wrote credit card code); I don’t believe any standard automated service would accept simply the unverified credit card number. They either are doing it in collusion with a credit card processor willing to accept a high rate of fraud, or they are manually re-entering the card number and amount as you would do in your neighborhood sandwich shop. Either way, there is extra work that actually has gone on to perpetrate the fraud.
The other issue to understand in this is the vendor’s involvement, because that is a very suspicious arrangement. They very likely are taking in excessive number of bogus charges. They have to make good on the ones on which a customer complains, but the question is; is the company getting reimbursed from the Obama campaign or essentially making a multi-million dollar illegal contribution by eating it and serving as a money launderer for one of Obama’s billionare friends? And bogus ones not caught by the credit card holders, or reported (or addressed after the election) don’t enter into the picture. One wonders how clear is the charge showing up on the bills; Many internet purchases end up as pretty arcane entries on statements. Lots of questions, very few answers, and very little time to find them.

—In its FEC filing, the host committee said it incurred $53.67 million in operating expenses and spent $53.86 million.
Most of that money went to pay expenses of the Democratic National Convention Committee, the party organization that staged the DNC. Nine percent of the host committee’s money went to pay its own expenses, which included salaries, marketing and staging various events off the convention grounds.
Convention expenses paid by the committee included $14.1 million for construction costs, including the stage and lighting, at the Pepsi Center and $5.3 million at Invesco Field.—
The extra $5.3 million for the vanity platform at Invesco seems like a strange and very frivolous spending choice. Obama could have given the same uninspiring speech at the Pepsi Center and saved millions of dollars. This isn’t the same as buying a wardrobe for a candidate who lacked one; Democrats had already spent almost $15 million on the Pepsi Center. Obama had a perfectly good stage on which to accept his nomination and demanded another for his own ego.
Will all of the media outlets who rushed to expose the $150,000 wardrobe cost for a middle-class VP candidate report on the millions spent to feed Barack Obama’s grandeur?

Putting the $106 million that Obama spent in the first 15 days of October in perspective…
OBAMA’S OCT 1-15 SPENDING = $105,599,963.76
That’s more than $293,000 an hour.

The RNC is the money bags here. Its Oct. 1-15 spending: $45,189,239, less than a third of Obama’s spending during the same period.
If you can read, you can see how they twist what’s obvious, and try to make it sound like McCain spent more.
btw…Obama’s campaign overrode an installed software program, that would prevent fraud, from donations. McCains is intact, but Obama’s is not. He’s getting contributions , and one from a guy who used his Hong Kong credit card. It went thru. Aren’t foreign contributions illegal? hmmmm

There seems to be a pattern developing here.
Palin charged as a business expense her working from home.
Palin charged as a business expense flying her children and husband around to events they were not invited to or totally unrelated snowmobile races
Palin charged as a campaign expense her wardrobe, make-up and accessories
And then she denies it.
Palin investigated for ethic violations and found to have violated state law and abuse of power.
And then she denies it.
And all of this is blessed by McCain and his campaign, who claimed they would run an ‘honorable’ campaign, then didn’t.

Hank Williams Jr. brought up something that should be publicized. A close friend of his who owns a restaurant said Obama’s tax plans will kill the restaurant business. I thought about and it and it makes real sense. Most restaurants employ many people like cooks, waiters and bus boys. These restaurants surely make over $250,000. When they get hit with Obama’s tax hikes I am sure they will have to let people go. So it does make sense that Obama’s tax plans will kill many small businesses and put people out of work. Restaurants are a major business in this country. Just a week ahead before DOOMSDAY!!!

He also advised the crowd to “gird your loins,” since the tasks ahead for the next president will be “like cleaning the Augean stables, man.” What’s the best way to follow Biden’s advice?

As one can easily see, the neo-con bots are out in force still with mostly absurd statements.
Hey. fellow Americans, there are no fake Americans and real Americans. The people who really hate America are right here posting ontheir super-patriot bilge… Well, they are simply wrong and like most neo-cons, they simply cannot recognize that.
So I am not even going to invite them to do the soul-searching that most of the GOP is doing at the current time. I speak as a conservative, who believes in small-town values, i.e., being tolerant, helping my neighbors, always having an open door and above all with the firm belief that our society must absolutely stand for the poorest among us, not the richest. They can fend for themselves, they always have.
That message has nothing to do with McCain and Palin. Nothing at all. They are a hateful pair, unintelligent, vindictive, angry, hot-headed, in a word, dumb. They are also power maniacs and that is something I do not feel we need in government. In fact, the GOP doesn’t need it. It must begin migrating back to the political center and away from Naziism, and I use that term as a historian. Their method has been that of the Nazi Party in Germany and, BTW, of the Communist Partties in post-war Europe. They are a disgrace to our nation and any genuine patriot, any person who genuinely loves this country of ours cannot in all good conscience vote for them.
Whatever the outcome: The coming election will highlight the dirty, ignorant, paro chial underbelly of our nation. That is the good news. If McCain wins, though, that will be the end of our nation, period.

I appreciate John McCains service in the Navy, however I also realize that it was not a choice he made, but one that was made for him due to his father and grandfathers legacy. Having read his book, he made that more than clear. However, that does make him any more or less qualified to lead this country. A leader is one whos intelligence and reasoning allows America to explore all options available and to do their best to prevent soldiers from having to put their lives on the line unless absolutely necessary to protect the freedoms we claim as our own. Since I retired from military service, I have now seen many of my friends and relatives sent into Iraq never to return alive. I consider their deaths to have been in vein, and a result of an over aggressive and irrational administration who was in too much of a hurry to rush in, regardless of how many lives they put at risk. John McCain was one of those in the administration shouting from his soapbox encouraging the invasion, more so than most others in Congress. Given his military background, he should have been one of those opposing such actions the loudest, and instead, he let his brothers in arms down in the worst of ways. That is not a leader.
Obama has shown to have the demeanor, intelligence and character of a true American, who cares about Americans and their values, and would be the type of leader who would explore all possibilities available from all resources before placing our men and women in harms way. That is the true character of a leader.
I cannot bring back my lost friends and relatives, nor can I vote for a man who was in a large part responsible for their lives being lost for completely wrong reasons. I, like many many more of my fellow brothers will be voting for Obama and for a better future for all Americans. I can only hope that others can see through the current hate and intolerance involved in this election campaign and do the same.

I would like to add something that is a fact:
Democracy has one single genuine enemy: Ignorance and the kind of 100 percentism. Learn to be critical (not an attack dog that repeats the bosh spewed by the Free Republic site).
The GOP has forgotten how to criticize itself. It blamestorms wherever and whenever it can, it points its fingers at 100 bugaboos rather than figure out what it did wrong. No wonder the banking system collapsed on us. You could not criticize the deregulated system without being attacked as a Commie a socialist, etc….
Note what people are calling Obama…. Actually, John McCain is far more left than Obama.

State and local officials are investigating if state and law-enforcement computer systems were illegally accessed when they were tapped for personal information about “Joe the Plumber.”
Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher became part of the national political lexicon Oct. 15 when Republican presidential candidate John McCain mentioned him frequently during his final debate with Democrat Barack Obama.
Public records requested by The Dispatch disclose that information on Wurzelbacher’s driver’s license or his sport-utility vehicle was pulled from the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles database three times shortly after the debate.
Information on Wurzelbacher was accessed by accounts assigned to the office of Ohio Attorney General Nancy H. Rogers, the Cuyahoga County Child Support Enforcement Agency and the Toledo Police Department.
It has not been determined who checked on Wurzelbacher, or why. Direct access to driver’s license and vehicle registration information from BMV computers is restricted to legitimate law enforcement and government business.

Twice last weekend, Biden grimly warned at closed-door meetings that a great crisis is coming early in the term of President Obama:
“Mark my words. It will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy. … Remember I said it standing here if you don’t remember anything else I said … we’re gonna have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy.”
A “generated crisis”? By whom? Moscow? Beijing? Tehran?
This is an astonishing statement from the CHAIRMAN of the Foreign Relations Committee who has access to the same intelligence as President Bush. Was Joe warning of a crisis like the Berlin Wall of July 1961, where JFK called for a tripling of the draft and ordered a call-up of reserves, or the missile crisis where U.S. pilots like John McCain were minutes away from bombing nuclear missile sites in Cuba and killing the Russians manning them?
Is Russia about to move on the Crimea? Is Israel about to launch air strikes on Iran’s nuclear sites? What is Joe talking about?
If one assumes Joe is a serious man, we have a right to know.
Instead, what we got was Obama’s airy dismissal of Joe’s words as a “rhetorical flourish” and a media – rather than demanding that Joe hold a press conference – acting as Obama surrogates parroting the talking points that Joe was just saying that new presidents always face tests.
Had John McCain made that hair-raising statement, he would have been accused of fear mongering about a new 9/11. The media would have run with the story rather than have smothered it.
Has anyone ever asked Joe about his own and his party’s role in cutting off aid to South Vietnam, leading to the greatest strategic defeat in U.S. history and the Cambodian HOLOCAUST? Has anyone ever asked Joe about the role he and his party played in working to block Reagan’s deployment of Pershing missiles in Europe, and SDI, which Gorbachev concedes BROKE the Soviets and WON the Cold War?
Is Joe’s record of having been wrong on Vietnam, wrong in the Cold War, and wrong on the Surge, less important than whether Sarah Palin tried to get fired a rogue-cop brother-in-law who Tasered her 10-year-old nephew to “teach him a lesson”?

Hmmm, TS clearance background checks and various investigations are on-going…If Obama is elected and the
“s–t hits the fan”…Oh well, that’s what “impeachements” are for!

Barack Obama Couldn’t Pass a Routine Background Investigation
By Gregory D. Lee
Retired DEA Supervisory Special Agent.
October 10, 2008
A while back, radio talk show host Michael Savage brought up the notion that Democratic presidential nominee Sen. Barack Obama couldn’t pass a background investigation to become an FBI special agent.
He doesn’t know how right he is.
Sen. Barack Obama wouldn’t pass a routine government background investigation, not only to become an FBI agent, but a police officer as well. If he were a soldier, his background would preclude him from obtaining a security clearance. He wouldn’t even qualify to be a support person in a federal agency, such as secretary, for that matter. His past cocaine usage disqualifies him from being a DEA agent.
There’s another big problem Sen. Obama has: His association and business relationship with Weatherman Underground founder William Ayers, a former domestic terrorist who is still unrepentant for his bombings on U.S. landmarks and police stations. Usually, the company you keep reveals who you really are. Ayers felt then, as he does now, that America is the evil of the world and needs punishing for past and current bad acts. Not many federal agencies would want someone with that kind of chip on his shoulder working for it.
Also, Sen. Obama’s association with Tony Rezko and the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) come to mind. Rezko was just convicted of promoting corruption among Chicago politicians. He helped in the purchase of the senator’s home and was a campaign fundraiser for Obama. ACORN is being investigated by the feds for systematic voter registration fraud. Not good things.
Let’s not forget about Sen. Obama’s pastor and mentor for 20 years, America-hater Rev. Jeremiah Wright. When first questioned about his membership in Wright’s black theology church, Sen. Obama first denied knowing Rev. Wright harbored such negative feelings about the U.S., but after being further pressed, he dismissed the reverend’s conduct as like a “crazy uncle” who lived in the basement. He finally decided that he couldn’t politically afford to stay in the church, and dropped his membership.
To keep job applicants honest, many government agencies such as DEA, FBI, CIA and others require them to take a polygraph examination. Do you think Sen. Obama could pass a polygraph when he approves an ad that mocks Sen. John McCain for being unable to send e-mails without mentioning his poorly mended broken arms while in custody of the North Vietnamese which prevents him from manipulating the computer keyboard? He’s not computer illiterate, he’s handicapped!
Would you want a police officer in your city associating with such people? Not likely. But Obama supporters ignore these associations because they are desperate for a Democrat in the White House.
A federal government full-field background investigation would also look for prior inconsistencies, exaggerations and outright lies on an application for employment.
I once conducted a background check for an applicant to become a secretary for DEA. She had previously worked for a large police department as a secretary, and left the job to have a child. She was ready to re-enter the workforce and wanted to work for DEA. She seemed perfect for the job until the background investigation revealed that she lied on her application. She claimed to have 30-semester hours of college in office management, when in reality she attended one day of one class and then dropped out. The fact that she lied was sufficient justification to consider her application no further. After all, if she would lie about that, what else has she lied about? Obviously the woman lacked integrity, which is a vital qualification for any position within the federal government, even a DEA secretary who would have access to all investigative reports.
I’d like to conduct Sen. Obama’s background investigation. I’d review his application for the Illinois state bar and see if he mentioned the drug usage that he disclosed in one of his books. If the question about drugs was asked, and he denied it at the time, his integrity is immediately put into question. He revealed it in his book to float a balloon to test his potential as a viable presidential candidate. Admitting it prevented his political opponents from attacking him about it. In fact, in the eyes of many Sen. Obama supporters, using drugs enhances his resume. It’s something they can relate to.
Personally I like my presidents to not associate with known criminals, be drug-free for a lifetime, have unquestioned integrity and be able to pass a simple background investigation.

Snorting cocaine, especially just before exams helped him graduate from Harvard.
Barack Hussein Obama’s brain is permanently damaged because of his cocaine addiction.
It is interesting that the left-wing-liberal media clowns spoke so much in the past about President Bush’s alcohol abuse but they are downplaying Barack Hussein’s cocaine addiction.
AMERICA DO NOT VOTE FOR OBAMA – COCAINE AND OTHER DRUGS HAVE FRIED HIS BRAIN!
(still waiting for Obama’s complete medical records)
OBAMA HAS NOT RELEASED HIS COMPLETE MEDICAL RECORDS. HE HAS ONLY RELEASED AN ONE PAGE “DOCTOR’S REPORT”…
I WONDER WHY? MENTAL ILNESS? DRUG ADDICTION? (WE KNOW HE WAS ABUSING DRUGS BUT NOT FOR HOW LONG, ETC)

You do not even know the definition of “democracy” or where it was even born! Go hit some history books, BOZO and then come back here to tell us that a retired war hero – POW, who almost lost his life for our country (regardless if the war he was fighting was right or wrong he was fighting for AMERICA) would cause the end of Democracy.
Hide your freaking face – UN-AMERICAN IDIOT. Your MARXIST Savior of the “masses” (the sheep) will end democracy in America.
Yes, morally sound patriotic American people want a war hero as our President. We do not want “whinners” – Harvard “elitists”, who forgot their brains at Harvard and ended up working with terrorists, drug dealers, and other Chicago criminals (he has the audacity to call it “community organizing”).
Oh! I know…he speaks well!

He doesn’t really speak that well…I wonder if he took a speech class at Harvard-but he won’t release his transcripts, so I guess we’ll never know!
Hey, Gigi! You mean like JFK and Carter were military men?
Are you even from this country or are you just under the age of 18 and flunked your high school history class last year? Just kidding.

Will the neo-communists censor the Net?
Anybody who is listening or reading knows that a President Barack Obama would yank America toward socialism by the largest margin since FDR’s New Deal. Thanks to Joe the plumber, we know Obama wants to redistribute wealth, spread it around like it belongs to the government instead of the people who earned it.
Draconian tax increases are just the tip of the socialistic agenda Obama has waiting for us. Obama’s cheerleaders, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and other leftists, plan an all-out assault on the First Amendment. Sadly, that doesn’t mean that they’re going to cease the unending gaseous gaffes. Instead, it means they want to go back to pre-Ronald Reagan days when the government controlled what was said on radio and TV.
The Democrats, as they did in 1934 prompted by FDR, want to re-enact the Fairness Doctrine, which has nothing to do with fairness in communication. This doctrine simply allows the government to decide whose speech is free and whose isn’t. It forced broadcasters to give equal time to what the government deemed were opposing views.
President Ronald Reagan saw the evil behind the Fairness Doctrine and vetoed a bill in 1987 that would have made it law. The bellyaching from the far left has persisted since then, especially since my friend Rush Limbaugh saved AM radio with his style of talk radio. Thin-skinned liberals can’t take Rush’s straight talk, so they want to shut him down. That’s why some call the latest push for the doctrine the Hush Rush law.
I know this sounds like something from Nazi Germany or Castro’s Cuba, but it’s already in the hopper. New Mexico Sen. Jeff Bingaman let the cat out of the bag about the left’s plans to silence its dissenters, according to Brian Maloney of Radio Equalizer.
“With the possibility of a Democratic Party supermajority after the upcoming elections, Jeff Bingaman may soon get his wish to quash dissenting viewpoints,” Maloney reports. ”During an interview with KKOB Albuquerque host Jim Villanucci, Bingaman overtly stated his full support for imposing Fairness Doctrine restrictions on free speech which would effectively shut down talk radio as we know it today.”
If the leftists succeed under the nightmare scenario with Obama in the White House, this time it won’t just be about radio and TV, but could include content on the Internet. You got it – the jackbooted thugs from the left will monitor what you and I write on the Web and let us have it if they don’t think it’s “fair.”
Jeff Poor of NewsBusters wrote about this scary socialistic scheme, reporting that FCC Commissioner Robert McDowell ventured that the feds under the governmental Democratic trifecta (presidency and both houses of Congress) could thrust itself into regulating speech on the Internet.
“He told the Business & Media Institute there’s a possibility the next Congress and administration might attempt to package the renewal of the Fairness Doctrine with Net neutrality regulation,” Poor wrote.
“‘I think the fear is that somehow large corporations will censor their content, their points of view,’ McDowell said, suggesting some conservatives might support Net neutrality legislation based on corporate censorship fears. ‘I think the bigger concern for them should be if you have government dictating content policy, which by the way would have a big First Amendment problem.
“‘Then, whoever is in charge of government is going to determine what is fair, under a so-called “Fairness Doctrine,” which won’t be called that – it’ll be called something else,’ McDowell said. ‘So, will websites, will bloggers have to give equal time or equal space on their website to opposing views rather than letting the marketplace of ideas determine that?’”
The Democrats, who look more and more like neo-communists, should tread lightly here. I don’t just say that because I’ve made my living on talk radio. This is truly a First Amendment issue, so Pelosi and the rest of her minions better break out that Constitution they swore to protect and read up.
The Supreme Court did rule in an earlier day that the previous incarnation of the Fairness Doctrine was constitutional. But the Supreme Court concluded in another case that the doctrine “inescapably dampens the vigor and limits the variety of public debate (Miami Herald Publishing Co. v. Tornillo, 418 U.S. 241),” according to an article at the Heritage Foundation.
Obama and the Democrats’ new deal is a bad deal for every American who believes in the Constitution and the First Amendment. It is a dangerous step to the left that will stifle free expression and, ultimately, democracy.

OBAMA: THE AUDACITY!!
Other than the 200,000 European curious students, socialists/radicals/anarchists/crack addicts, who went to see That One in Berlin, the conservative Europeans consider Obama as “The Audacity”!
An Arrogant Unmannered Hypocrite. He embarassed our country because His Audacity did not go to Berlin to promote our America. His Audacity went over there to promote his “Big Ego”!
I was on a business trip in Europe at that time and trust me – I was trying to hide my face – that is how embarassed I was, when the Europeans got wind of the fact that His Audacity gave a speech in Berlin but did NOT go to visit our wounded troops, at Ramstein Air Base (Landstuhl Regional Medical Center).
OBAMA: The Audacity of a man who wants to be our Commander in Chief who failed to visit out wounded troops at Ramstein Air Base. All he care is how to promote his Big Ego with yet another “pretty – oh how pretty – speech in Berlin.
BOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! BIG EGO!!! THE AUDACITY !!!!! BOOOOOOOO!!!

Thank you Palin for reminding us of “Obama, the Audacity – Trip to Berlin”
Americans of course heard very little about this…
Oh yes! Europe was buzzing with the news and in the end Obama ended up having only the Socialists, Radicals, Anarchists, Crack-heads of Europe cheering for him!
I was so sad and embarassed when I heard that the “Audacity” was not going to visit our wounded troops in Germany.
(Ramstein Air Base (Landstuhl Regional Medical Center). That is exactly when I decided NOT to vote for him.
It saddens me, every time I remember his Berlin trip and how he ignored our wounded soldiers…
The only thing that he cared about was the his “pretty Berlin speech”! The only thing that “His Audacity” cared about was his “Big Ego” – not our America!

To refresh you memory American fellows:
International Herald Tribune:
Merkel ally opposes Obama speech in Berlin
The Associated Press
Sunday, July 13, 2008
BERLIN: A conservative ally of Chancellor Angela Merkel said that Barack Obama should not speak at Berlin’s Brandenburg Gate because he played no role in German reunification.
Erwin Huber, chairman of the Bavarian sister party to Merkel Christian Democrats, accused Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier of pandering to the U.S. presidential candidate by inviting Obama to speak in the center of Berlin.
Obama’s tentative plans to hold a speech in late July at the Brandenburg Gate, a symbol of German unity, have exposed simmering tensions in the German government, an uneasy alliance between the main conservative and center-left parties.
Merkel and Steinmeier, who are from rival parties, may face off in a federal election next year.
“Obama didn’t do anything for German unification,” Huber told the Welt am Sonntag newspaper. “That’s not a criticism, but as a result there is no reason to grant him such a privilege.”
Huber said American presidents such as Ronald Reagan, who spoke at the Berlin Wall in 1987, and his successor George H.W. Bush, president when the wall was breached in 1989, deserved the credit for their roles in reuniting Germany.
Obama said Saturday that he hoped to resolve concerns expressed by Merkel.
“I want to make sure that my message is heard as opposed to creating a controversy,” Obama said.
“So, you know, our goal is just for me to lay out how I think about the next administration’s role in rebuilding a trans-Atlantic alliance, so I don’t want the venue to be a distraction. What I want to do is just work with folks on the ground to find some place that’s appropriate.”
The German government has denied that Washington put pressure on Merkel to block the proposed Obama speech.
Leading German newspapers, including Bild and Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, reported that Bush administration officials attending a G-8 summit meeting in Japan last week expressed reservations to the German delegation about Obama’s speaking at the landmark.
“The reports are completely unfounded,” Merkel’s spokesman, Ulrich Wilhelm, said when asked about the reports and a suggestion from Mayor Klaus Wowereit of Berlin that the Bush administration had put pressure on Merkel.
“There were no expectations whatsoever expressed either outright or tacitly in that regard from American President Bush or his staff. It’s pure fiction.”
He said last week that she frowned on any speech at the gate.
Merkel was not happy to see “electioneering” at the gate, calling the idea “odd.” That snub prompted a sharp response from Steinmeier, who said Germany would be honored.
“Steinmeier is just trying to curry favor with Obama,” Huber said.
“He thinks he can gain an advantage by showing his support for Obama early,” he continued. “That’s pretty naive, if you ask me.
“What’s next? Should Republican John McCain come next – should the American campaign be fought out in Germany?”
