Biden Vouches for Obama in New TV Ad

Airing here in Ohio, among other places, is an Obama TV ad that responds to an attack ad from an outside group.

And what’s most interesting is the ad uses Sen. Joe Biden to vouch for Sen. Barack Obama.

The original attack ad — from the Judicial Confirmation Network — points out Obama’s ties to unsavory characters such as "slumlord" Tony Rezko, Williams Ayers, and Rev. Jeremiah Wright, and suggests Obama would appoint similar breeds of cat to the Supreme Court.

The response ad features Joe Biden saying:

"Seen this ad questioning what kind of people Barack Obama would appoint? Well, I chaired the Senate committee that reviews judicial nominees. I know Barack Obama. These ads are ridiculous. Barack loves his country, he’s condemned the acts of those people, they don’t work on our campaign and they won’t work in our White House. And if you want to know what kind of people Barack will consult with as president? Well, you’re looking at him. False ads won’t solve our problems, but real change will."

The original text was “Nevermind what I said about Obama during the primaries. That was for political expediency. Ok, maybe this is for political expediency…I mean, vote for Barack! Hey, Scranton, I really miss you guys! When I snap my fingers on Nov. 5, you won’t remember any of this.” *poof*

Joe Biden rocks!
Better than the talking Parrot that’s for sure!
Keep up the smears and fears Pubs! It’s working great so far!
McCain said, “We have them just where we want them”
Isn’t that what Custer said?

Consider all the lobbyists McCain has appointed as his campaign advisers, including William Timmons who worked on a project with two men found guilty of illegally lobbying on behalf of Saddam Hussein’s regime. I don’t think the Obama’s links to people with whom he is not financially linked or have any involvement in his public life is close to as questionable.

Let’s as Palin how the report cleared her of any unethical activity.
Oh wait, I forgot, she’s afraid to talk to the press.
(But sure, she’s qualified to talk to world leaders right?)

Posted by: Truth Hurts the GOP | October 15, 2008, 7:42 am 7:42 am

I heard they struggled to decide between running this ad, and one where they talk to people poised to get a tax cut from Obama. They asked 10 people making <250k if they should get a tax cut. Surprisingly, they all said yes.
The campaign decided against the ad when the 2 folks who don't pay taxes complained the check needed to be bigger so they could buy a Wii.

REPUBLICAN NOTION OF “REFORMERS”
John McCain – guilty of Violation of Ethics
Saraha Palin – guilty of Violation of Ethics
Todd Pal;in – unelected individual uses power of the Governor’s office to settle personal vendetta
Cindy McCain – guilty of stealing drugs from a charity to support her addiction
Seems what needs reforming is the Republican’s idea of “leadership” and “integrity”
———————————–
Obama and Biden have been charged with what again? Oh yes, nothing!

Posted by: Oh the Irony | October 15, 2008, 7:46 am 7:46 am

To the comment above, we all are aware that Custer lost right??
What else can you say abour ridiculous accusations by desparate people? I hope the Biden ad airs in more locations. There are real crazies out there that believe the Republican crap. This really scares me, scares me that ones of these may take a shot a Obama, literally. All you Republicans are proud of your party? You are dancing with danger.

Joes doesn’t seem to understand that it is his 4 separate lies that Obama and David Axelrod have told the american people. These 2 people clearly are anti-american far left extremist. Jesse Jackson claims that Obama is like a family member and he said that things are going to change when he gets in the Whitehouse. He is going to make up for the injusice in Palistine and cut the Zionest loose in Israel.
I always thought Obama had a different agenda and now Jesse Jackson confirmed that Obama has been lieing to americans all along.

CBSNEWS – CBS NEWS POLL – Oct. 14 2008
“Obama opens a 14% lead over McCain.
The top two reasons cited for the change of heart are McCain’s attacks on Obama and his choice of Sarah Palin as running mate. Among indepedent voters, Obama now hold a 18% lead vs. 11% two weeks ago”
McCain and Palin – Stupid racists betting that that can drive America back to the Confederacy, and they failed.

The Media Better get “With it”
The media is not being honest about our candidates. Actually they haven’t been honest about Obama since day one.
Why is anyone pushing Obama and Biden?
Obama has no experience.
He’s risky.
He is scary.
His friends, his associates and his background should be questioned daily.
Rev. Wright, Farrakhan, Rezko, William Ayers, Father Plaeger and now ACORN.
We have a racist, an Islamic leader, a criminal, a terrorist and a fraudulent grass root community group.
Obama is running for President of our country, not for American Idol or for a “public speaking” position.
If the media doesn’t do it’s job. Obama and his group of “obama girl” followers might end up in our living rooms.
Obama is embarrassing.
McCain is experienced and a true patriot.
Please make these issues clear to the public.
Thanks.

Somehow it all seems so genuine coming from Biden. This might just be the last gasp for the Ayers thing. I don’t see McCain being able to hit hard with it at tonight’s debate. Those sorts of attacks always fall flat in such a personal setting.

I think what bothers me the most about Obama as President is the fact that he’s supported by people and governments that could hardly be called friends of the United States. Let’s face it, Muslim terrorist groups being noted as supporters on his official website, (before they’re mysteriously removed), old communist leaders like Castro, South American dictators, and of course Russia.
One has to wonder what’s in it for them. I’d think this would be a question the media would ask. Are Obama supporters SO naive that they think that their “messiah” can simply talk them out of their anti-American views. Do these old and new “hippies” really think that electing Obama is some kind of symbolic “peace sign” that’ll change our enemies view of us. No, the only LOGICAL reason for those countries, groups and people to want us to elect Obama is that they know he is weak. In addition with Obama we get a man that’s gone out of his way through his life to associate himself with anti-America people. His election will not help the cause of peace. It’ll only encourage those people to act strongly against us.

What a laugh!
Biden vouching for Obama.
Remember other famous Democrats?
The mafia vouched for Jack Kennedy and made sure he got elected.
Only now it’s felons, fraudulent voter registration, the NAACP, the Black Panthers, ACORN, crazy Wright and Hollywood pushing this year’s Democrat.
Oh, I forgot to mention the teenyboppers, and druggies who think Obama is “cool.”

Realclearpolitics Baaybeee. Obama 313 and leading in all the other tossups except Indiana which hasn’t had a poll in a week. My guess is he will be leading her too by the end of this week.
He’s turning red states blue every day.

Let’s hear what Michelle has to say about it; she’s unbiased too!

watched both of the ads
joe said it all in his clip.
I suppose if the dems were in the position the reps. are in right now maybe they would be doing the same thing.
but it is the reps who are were they are,
and for the mccain people who say
“country frirst”
they sure are showing how UNpatriotic
they can be.
the reps only have scare tactics to use now.
i just heard bill bennett on cnn, i thought he was one of the thinkers, the news woman asked him if he thinks palin is ready to be president and he said
“yes” these people will do and say anything to try and win.
if mccain gets up on that stage tonight and mentions bill ayers, first of all i trying to figure out how he will intro him into the debate.
but if he does-he may have satisfied those rabble rousers who attend his rallys, but he will be toast with everyone else.
no one wants a small minded petty person as POTUS and that is what mccain has turned into, I think palin has always been like that.

Honest Joe! (the one who plagerizes speeches.)
“As a child he dreamed of being in the football hall of fame” Trouble is there was no football hall of fame when Joe was a child.
When Joe ran for President, Obama wasn’t qualified, but he said McCain was.

fraudagain,
you must not know about mccain’ ties with acorn.
and i would rather have joe biden, who has the experience he has with approving judges, i would rather have him vouche for obama and he can be more
crediable than palin vouching for mccain.
the only way mccain and palin can vouche for each other on anything, is they have to read up on each other the night before. because neither knew very much about the other before this.
john mccain and his handlers are not getting advice from palin about anything now, and he will not be having palin advise him if he became president.
the only thing palin brought to the mccain table is youth.

Bizarre ad. Obama being defended by a serial plagarizer? and didn’t Biden attack conservative judges?
Those internal polls must be something.

Posted by: geevill | October 15, 2008, 8:36 am 8:36 am

It’s appropriate for the McCain campaign to attack Obama on his relations.
McCain’s problem is that it’s the only song he knows how to play, the voters are getting tired of it. 10 points behind, and he still don’t get it.
McCain = No style, no vision!
Palin = To stupid for words!

Critical ad of Barack Obama is stooping quite low. Those stories have no basis! They have already been checked by almost all news outlets, fact checks, etc long time ago. Found False and misleading.
John McCain is lucky Barack Obama is not attacking John McCain. He has a long horrible association with people who actually have/will hurt America. His past actions throughout his political life are not ethical.
List
(1)Keating Five- McCain decision – abuse of power – Ethics Law – Wife even continued her business association with Charles Keating post conviction and prison sentence. Cindy made lots of money
(2)Gordon Leddy – same gentleman who plotted Watergate Break in, plotted to kill multiple high ranking Washington people – Convicted and sentenced to 5 years in prison – John McCain enjoyed fundraiser at his house – May, 2008 appeared on his radio talk show calling him old friend – and publicly in writing supported his efforts in Watergate?? This is same gentleman who said if FBI agents tried to get him he would aim for their head stated publicly on his radio show. History of this man is most alarming!
(3)Adviser chair to MCcain transition Team is lobbyist advising for Sadam Hussein. Found guilty for his actions.
(4)Cindy McCain’s Father indicted 2 x and went to prison once. Associated with Arizona Mafia and got his liquor license for taking fall prison sentence for Mafia Marley of Arizona. 1950′s
These are just a few examples of McCain many ties. MCain has always used questionable ties. After Srah Palin-John McCain enticing crowd rage to shout “kill him”, “off with his head” and neither stopping these dangerous threats. Assassination is against law!! John McCain and Sarah Palin both lie right and left and approve of encouraging crowd hate. Mob rage is close to dangerous levels. Results – problems beginning across the country. If someone is killed – can they be prosecuted???

Posted by: Sharonklim | October 15, 2008, 8:58 am 8:58 am

Now that is has been revealed that the man McCain named to head his Presidential transition team, William Timmons, was working with two guys convicted for lobbying for the Saddam Hussein regime, I think Obama supporters should quit trying to clear the air about William Ayers. Let the McCain people shake their angry “Obama Tire Gauges” against the cold dark night.

I am sorry, Mike. Fill me in. Was the Enlightment before, during, or after the period in which Palin claims dinosaurs and man walked the earth together? And could they both see Russia from Alaska?

My hope is that Couric’s fortune will be the first to be redistributed in the “fair” plan of having the bottom 45% get refund checks from the rest of us. It is only fair – even to Biden.

Posted by: light headed Joe | October 15, 2008, 10:19 am 10:19 am

Obama supporters claim that their bottom up tactics have upended the Reagan Revolution and are putting the country back on the right path. Except that bottom up approach is not how he is winning.
The Obama campaign is cheating and Obama is lieing.
This election could have been about trust. Instead, it has become about fraud and intimidation.
As a result, an Obama win will be the beginning of a deeper penetration of cynicism and mistrust into the American psyche than even Bush managed ineptly. This time it is being done expertly and there will be hell to pay for it.

Posted by: len | October 15, 2008, 10:23 am 10:23 am

we all know mccain has no one to rely on, sarah palin? please.
and geevil, you only need to look to alaska and see not what a family member has been accused of doing with their position.
the abuse of power associated with troopergate, is not the first time palin has misused her office.
do try and be fair and balanced, i know you have already made up your mind, but don’t close your mind to the fact that palin and mccain have their problems also

Posted by: world | October 15, 2008, 10:24 am 10:24 am

Len – I agree and becuase of these policies we will see cynicism grow and with that the flood of capitol and talent out of the country.

Posted by: light headed Joe | October 15, 2008, 10:26 am 10:26 am

Joe Biden is the reason we will be voting for Obama.
I bet McCain doesn’t put out a clip that says he will be relying on Palin for council!!!!

Bush won with Karl Rove thuggary, and he did so much damage that it is hard to know where to begin reparing it!
And John McCain has sold his soul to the same people! Winning is more important to him than this country! If he really put country first he would have chosen someone substantial for VP!
Now they run a TABLOID campaign!

Posted by: Donna Hughes | October 15, 2008, 10:44 am 10:44 am

Like I’d believe ANY article on Obama that was put out by the National Review? HA! To quote Joe Biden: MALARKY!!!

Posted by: Donna Hughes | October 15, 2008, 10:48 am 10:48 am

The more of these dopey, false attack ads that McCain puts up, the lower his approval ratings sink. Perhaps the Obama campaign should help fund more of them.

Posted by: Howard, NY | October 15, 2008, 10:50 am 10:50 am

If you’ve noticed, McCain’s attack ads about Obama don’t seem to be working. Obama seems to be climbing steadily in the polls and has got a handle on Florida and is closing in in Indiana, after having stolen Virginia (where he is now leading by around seven points).
I guess it’s because people saw Obama for themselves at the presidential debate and thought: Hey, he doesn’t look like a crazy radical nor does he seem like a terrorist. And he said it: We will kill Osama!
