For the McCain campaign, 5 minutes of consistency would be a treat. I am an over 55 Independent. I am used to my own feeble flaws. I do not want to vote for any candidate who should acknowledge his best years were forty years ago. It is time for old men to step aside and let the next generation iron out our flaws. McCain and I are products of an imperfect generation and our time has given way to the progress of the “net”. This world requires a steady hand. It requires a mind that comprehends a global network. McCain sadly is past his prime and not equiped for this “real world”. It is time for my generation to open the gates, step aside and make way for change. Looking at this crumbling economy, I am sure they can do no worse.

If McCain is such a leader why did he fail to stick to his guns? Why did he move to the far right? Leadership by fear is what is used in those other than Democratic countries.

My closing argument is that this election should inspire some movie company to remake an old movie classic. It would be about this testy, mean spirited old man, that by some miracle had been chosen by the republican party to run for president. Near the end of the campaign he becomes totally erratic and out of touch with reality and displays all the signs of dementia and must be institutionalized. He is accompanied to the institution by this extremely well dressed air head nurse that was previously chosen to be his VP. You know how the story goes from there, he has a lobotomy and lives quietly ever after. The title could be “Two flew over the Cuckoo’s Nest”.

In the video, McCain warns his crowd to hang onto their wallet if the Dems take charge. What – am I supposed to trust a Republican with my money? Be serious. They spend like drunken sailors! Perhaps Sen. McCain needs a gentle reminder that the nation’s economy is a disaster. Wall Street is ground zero, and this is happening on George Bush’s clock. I don’t trust Republican politicians with my purse at all. If Democrats control the House – fine with me. Anything to get rid of gridlock in government.

SEN. McCAIN: No. No. The fact is that I have agreed with President Bush far more than I have disagreed. And on the transcendent issues, the most important issues of our day, I’ve been totally in agreement and support of President Bush.

McCain’s closing argument is substantially less than persuasive, especially since the Repubs have been in control of the Legislative and Executive branches of government for six of the past eight years and he has been perfectly happy with that arrangement. If this argument is the best he can make to be elected President–never mind that he has offered absolutely no vision of what he wants to do for the country other than to kill earmarks–he richly deserves his fate!

First of all the president does not control spending. Only congress can do that. History shows that democratic congresses spend more than republican. Hence the need for checks and balances. When either party controls both the presidency and congress history shows spending does go out of control even more. Just remember the president has to go to congress to ask for spending that he wants.

Is it so hard for JT to just ask Bill Burton to answer Yes or No? That’s what a press secretary is for. Has Obama ever been a citizen of another country?
I know that does not affect his American citizenship, but don’t we have to know such basic stuff about our president? Come on, you must have taken a course in college that said it is your responsibility to inform the public of such things. Is it really crazy to ask such a question?

First we still are not sure he was born a natural american citizen as required by the constitution.
Second if he was, when he went to Indonesia as a child and went to school his parents would have had to renounce his american citizenship and become an Indonesia citizen only in order to go to school.
If in fact they did that then upon returning to the US as a young adult he would have had to then apply for citizenship, and take an oath of allegiance to the United States all of which would have documents. There is still a lawsuit now going to the supreme court to force him to show these documents which he appears as being reluctant to do. It is such a simple thing, show the documents to the Federal Election Board and be done with it. My question is why won’t he.
