Speaking of the View, how come were are not getting bombarded with videos since Bill O’Rielly was on there and called them out for blasting McCain and simpering over Obama? I would like to see that on the videos the way we always see them attacking Elizabeth for her opinions.

Elisabeth Hasselbeck is the Rush Limbaugh of The View. I’m not saying she’s “a big, fat idiot” because she obviously isn’t big or fat. She serves a great purpose and should be kept on the show. She is a great example of how ridiculous the extreme conservative far right point of view is. Most viewers and most of the US population for that matter disagree with EH but the show would be pretty boring without her to disagree with.
Keep EH on The View and encourage her to go stand beside Palin at her rallies. They have a lot in common in that they form opinions with self serving, ego-centric ideologies and often contradict themselves moving from one arguement to another.

Have you yourself watched the Katie Couric interviews with Palin? Have you noticed how Palin has been largely sheltered from the media? Why no press conferences? What about Palin having been found GUILTY OF ABUSING HER POWER in her attempt to get a trooper fired? How about her debate performance where she by and large gave non-answers, or else flatly refused to answer the question? How about the hypocracy of a campaign that decried Obama’s “celebrity appeal” and now holds Palin up as nothing more than having just that. McCain’s excuse for why he’s proud of her is “look at the crowds she draws”!!!! She’s nothing more than a celebrity!
This is the woman who claims, with a straight face, that her ability to see Russia from an Island of Alaska gives her foreign policy experience.
Elizabeth Hasselbeck is a hateful, venom-spewing, nasty petulant little girl. She cannot tolerate to hear anything negative (even if it’s true) about McCain. Nor can she tolerate hearing anything positive (even well-deserved) about Obama without saying some “yeah, but” and saying how someone in the McCain campaign has the same positive. As an Independent voter I, along with many others, looked forward to voting against the Rep. and getting them the hell out of town.
The Democratic candidates looked promising, Hillary mostly. However, Hillary didn’t win, Barack did. I wasn’t sold on Brack at first, but soon came to be.
I mostly became sold on him when: Republicans attempted to define him as some celebrity elitest, inexperienced, untested and unstable, out of touch, a person of poor judgment and so forth.
All of those factors sold me on him, but what really sold me on him was the selection of Sarah Palin. I’d always admired McCain and when he won the nomination, I thought I just might be voting Rep. again afterall. But, under no circumstance(s) will I vote for McCain with her on the ticket. Her being on the ticket is contradictory to Country First. She isn’t qualified to run a corner drug store, let alone a nation.
So, all the lables the Republicans attempted to apply to Obama, actually now apply to McCain/Palin. Everything they attempted to define him as, REALLY does now apply to McCain himself.
Therefore, I don’t care if the Pope stumps for the McCain/Palin ticket, they will still NOT get my vote.

NIA – I agree that the image was racist (the dollar bill including the chicken, watermellon etc.), however, the inclusion of the kool aid container was not a crude reference to racism, but rather to Obama supporters (calling them kool aid drinkers – ie, blindly following the message of change). The phrase has been used long before any mention of Obama, with its use aimed at politicians and supporters of both the Dem and Rep side. Attempting to imply that Hasselback meant anything other than the phrase’s typical use is unfair.

Couple of things…
First and foremost Palin is requesting a celebrity to support her campaign with no political background except for her personal beliefs and similar gender and yet criticizes Obama for being more of a celebrity than a statesman.
Secondly, this word “socialism” has been thrown around with very little weight due to Obama’s approach to more government intervention and regulation towards free market since capitalism has been abused and thus look where we are now. However, if you look at the domestic economic policies this year that has been passed in Feb ’08 they are already have been “socialistic” because of the economic forecast.
Thirdly, the Republican campaign tactic has been so tactless and desperate as to go so far to requesting Elisabeth Hasselbeck… consistent with her core beliefs, popular attractiveness and a former “Survivor” which will likely to say for the least of Palin herself in the coming days.

And I also love how Republicans title those of us against McCain “Un-American”. Thomas Jefferson said that “Dissent is the truest form of patriotism”. There’s NO WAY that any of you will define my patriotism for this country by your own standards. I love my country and would die for it. But not for the reasons you dictate.

I watch the view and I will admit that some times Joy comes off pretty angry, but I undertand why. When you work with someone like Elisabeth you have to have a lot of patience. Whenever someone asks Elisabeth a question about John McCain or Sarah Palin instead of answering the question or defending the republican standpoint she always say things like, well what about when Barack Obama did this or that? That is something that children do when they know they don’t have a leg to stand on or they’ve been caught doing something wrong, they try to throw the attention onto someone else. If that’s the type of person republicans emulate, then by all means you can have her. But the fact remains that up until 3 days ago Sarah Palin still did not have a clear view of exactly what the VP of the United States does. She claims she has more executive experience that Barack Obama, but she doesn’t know that the Vice Presidential duties she has described herself having are legislative duties. You want to be lead by someone like that by all means. But the rest of us are smarter than that.

Look at the whole picture and not be ruled by emotions when you vote. Face the fact that the economy will not be fixed within 8 years by Obama or McCain; the economy will turn around only by the effort of Americans, the people.

I watch the View every night before I go to sleep. I very much support the different views of each of the ladies. That is part of what makes the View, in my oppinion, such a popular show. I do not begrudge Elisabeth for her support of McCain (someone has to) but what I can’t understand is why she cannot support and advance her candidate’s position without Obama bashing. As I said, I tape and watch the View EVERYDAY and there has not been one instance I have watched when there was a political discussion that Elisabeth could not speak about her party/candidate with launching into a tirade on Obama. I think that really gives us some insite on the true Elisabeth.

Elisabeth is increasingly revealing herself to be off her rocker.
The Washington Post reports today the following:

I agree and find it most useful that Elisabeth Hasselbeck is set to join Gov. Sarah Palin on the campaign trail. I watched the View when E.D. Hill was the guest host recently and I LOVED HER. I had never heard of her before because I avoid Fox News, but it was so nice to hear a smart, rational conservative woman for a change. Instead, Our family is already planning for the worst. I’ve cut way back on discretionary spending and can no longer afford to commit to the same levels of charitable contributions. I saw another blob on this website that compared blue states and red states about general analogies. I did not think it was accurate but it shows the difference between liberal management of government and a conservative management. From the polls, I thought the blue states were better for everyone. But the generality, they conservative red states had the advantage in education, business and government budgets.

I’m not sure this is going to make Palin look hefty or smart, which is what she needs. But I just don’t think that is what they are after.

Obama pays his female staff 83 cents for each dollar the men make while McCain pays his female staff $1.04. We sure do not hear about these double standard do we?

I also thank you for telling us about the health care in Canada. I had a friend in Canada who had to wait for several months to get “emergency” surgery. I am very concerned about this election, more so then any other in our history. I never thought I would see the day I would prefer to see another Clinton elected but I do now.
I am concerned with this “spread the wealth” idea Why should some of us work hard to get ahead only to have to share what we make with those who are too lazy to work? It seems that since 40% of Americans do not even pay taxes but can now expect to get a check if Obama is elected…he is BUYING votes. I guess if I were a lazy bum, I would vote for him too.
I am concerned about Bidden’s statement that as our country would be tested if his ticket is elected. I read that as the war on terror will be brought to our country. We can not afford that. I doubt that will happen with McCain just as it did not with Ronald Reagan. The best way to assure peace is to be ready for war. We will not stop a war by “talking to them just as we can not stand on a railroad track as a speeding train approaches and expect it to stop because we ask it to nicely.
I am concerned about the right to life and the protection of yet to be born Americans, yet we find one of our potential world leaders not only wants to allow women the right to chose to murder these people before they are born, but to allow them to chose to do so for some undisclosed period of time after they are born. Even worse, he is giving this right ONLY to women. Men can only chose to pay support even without the hope of ever seeing the children they MAY have sired or they can go to jail. I say may have because 1/3 of the men paying child support are doing so for children they can prove are not theirs. I even have a friend whose present husband paid child support for FIVE YEARS for a child that never even EXISTED!
If we look at history, it has never been economics that have destroyed nations…it has been MORAL failure and our country is heading that way at break neck speed.
