I was impressed with the both of them. Biden showed he knows how to answer questions in a calm and civil manner, while Palin was in command of the questions put forth before her. The one glareing point that was a tripping point was Palin’s incestance to change course when she could NOT anwser. All-in-all, no one bloodied each other and the debate, if you can call it that ended in a draw!!!

Palin did wonderful. She did´n try to make a role and present herself as somebody she isn´t . She was natural, likeable, calm, warm, comfortable, down-to-earth, speaking clearly to American people. She just showed her credentials: ´this is what I have done in Alaska and what I want to do in Washington, take or leave it´. I was deeply impressed. Biden was not bad but so boring and repetitive, with a typical professional politician speech, with no connection to American people.

Perhaps if we had a president with “the vision thing,” who challenged us to be rid of the need for oil in ten years, we could save our economy and the planet. A “maverick” VP who thinks that global warming is not man-made, thinks sexual orientation is a choice, thinks humans walked the earth with the dinosaurs, and wants to “drill, baby drill” would be a disaster we cannot afford.

while thousands of Iraq citizens and hundreds of U.S. troops were being killed or wounded?.

Biden was very good and yes, Palin did better then I expected. And I do acknowledge, as a female she is attractive and confident and looks really well on television. But as far as I am concern, there was not much substance to her points. I believe that because she knew that it was possible she would not remember the points or would not know the answer to a question, she provide herself a way out by indicating in the beginning that she would answer her own questions. That is not debating. To me when she did not answer the questions, I believe it was because she either forgot her lines or she did not know the answers.

It appeared that each time Palin got stuck she resorted back to telling Biden “let’s stop pointing fingers backwards at what the Bush admn did wrong.” And she’d repeate past attacks on Obama. She appeared scripted as if someone had told her, “If you get stuck on something, say this or that to divert attention away from yourself and your lack of knowing what to say.” Palin came across as sounding scripted and thoroughly coached. And on the rare when she finally felt she had a brilliant convincing something to say she perked up and lit up with it. Clutching it like a lifeline.

McCains trickle down taxation plan is what got us into the financial mess we are in today. You cannot keep borrowing money to pay for your expenses. Like a home equity loan, you can only keep borrowing against it until you have no equity left.. then you wind up losing your home. That is exactly what is happening to America.. just look at the deficit.
Both Obama and McCains health care plans will cost roughly the same, but Obamas will cause more people go get insurance, while McCains will actually cause people to lose coverage. According to a recent Economic Policy Institute and Wall Street Journal analysis, and estimated 20 million will lose coverage under McCains plan. And Obamas plan will be more efficent.
I have yet hear anyone provide valid reasons for supporting McCain.

Palin did a great job, but what did she do a great job at? During a debate, each debater has a pre written list of points they want to make. No matter what the questions are, Obama is going to try and make McCain look like more of the same and McCain is going to make Obama seem inexperienced. The trick is to do that and still answer the questions you’re given, no matter how indirectly. Palin did a great job with the talking points the McCain brain trust gave her, but I can’t think of a single question she answered. Yes she was folksy and yes she appealed to “joe six pack” but all and all I would have rather heard real answers to the questions, and not a thinly veiled stump speech.

In regards to the debate, I did find it went well for both of them, Palin really needed this in her favor. The system that both Clinton and Obama agreed to was delegates, not votes. They [both] also agreed to disqualify FL and MI for breaking the rules. If there are problems, they should be brought up before the game starts, not when you start to lose.

According to EPI analysis (and WSJ), McCain and Obamas health plans cost roughly the same ($1.3 vs $1.6 trillion over 10 years), yet Obamas is more efficent and will allow coverage for more Americans.
Combined, McCain plans on spending considerably more, giving less back to middle class Americans, and causing more Americans to lose health care.
Plus he has a much greater chance of entering the US into yet another war.
Which one has a better chance at bankrupting this country?

We would also like to hear about his ties with ACORN, Hamas, Ayers, why he listened to Wright for 20 years without hearing a thing he said, the possibility of illegal campaign money funneling from very shady sources, his relationship with Larry Sinclair, the murder of Donald Young, the gay choir director at Trinity who reputedly had a relationship with Obama and that abortion thing.
We also would like to know why Obama and his supporters keep badgering those “racist” Clintons with all of their “baggage” to keep campaigning for him.
If Obama would just step forward and answer all of those questions, we might feel a little better about voting for him for President. However, we know that he will continue to avoid those questions and we also know he is as dumb as a bag of rocks and is not qualified to lead anything, much less a country.
I guess we have no choice but to continue to support McCain/Palin for President and Vice President. Oh Well! :D

If you want to use Bill Clinton as an example, look at all the programs Clinton cut, including to the veterans hospitals. Clinton also ignored attacks to the U.S. Two U.S. embassy’s were bombed and Americans were killed and he did nothing. U.S.S. Cole was bombed and he did nothing. While Bill Clinton was president, Al Qaeda reared it’s ugly head and bombed the Twin Towers, did he go after Bin Laden? NO. He gave them the opportunity to plan 9/11 instead of going after them and the Taliban in Afganistan.
How did having a surplus help the victims of 9/11? Was it really worth it?

Dude, you don’t know your history. The root cause of this mess started long before Bush ever even thought of running for President. It started under Jimmy Carter in 1977. You really should do some research in places other than the Lib blogs. Start with the Community Reinvestment Act which *FORCED* banks (by law) to provide loans to so-called “underserved communities” (read that: poor people). ACORN (you know, those wonderful “community organizers”) had a large hand in putting extreme pressure on the Carter administration to make this happen. That’s a good place to start in your education of the real world versus what the Lib’s would have you believe. Wake up dude.

Wrong again, genious. Continuing on my first entry: In Jan. 1995 Janet Reno under the Clinton administration further revised this law
(so-called “sub-prime authorization”) that compelled banks, by law, to give loans that were not capitalized (no down payment, no interest and low interest loans that turned into higher interest loans over time, etc) to this same underserved community. Banks then had to get very creative to meet the quotas for these types of MANDATED loans or face severe penalties.
In 2003 Bush recommended what the NY Times called “the most significant regulatory overhall in the housing financial industry since the Savings and Loan crisis a decade ago”. This change was to move governmental supervision from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac (FMAFM) under a wholly new agency created under the Department of Justice which would give it more oversight power, more auditing power, and would require FMAFM to better capitalize their debt. But that legislation was blocked in 2003 in Congress – by the Democrats – because the Dem’s were in bed with ACORN and other community activist grass-roots groups. Rep. Barney Frank, Senator Chris Dodd, the Clinton administration – all were in bed with these groups.
And Barney Frank said at the time, “…these two entities, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, are not facing any kind of financial crisis. The more pressure we see on these companies, the less we will see in terms of affordable housing.”
So basically the Socialists forced the private sector to behave in ways the private sector didn’t want to behave, but was forced to under threat of law, giving loans to people who are bad risks.

Those taxes would go towards paying off government spending and the deficit. We are already paying for welfare and food stamps, and will continue to do so under McCain and Obama regardless. You apparently have as much economic knowledge as McCain, none.

I can very firmly answer this question with no problem. I believe Katie Couric is trying to EXPOSE Palin’s beliefs. Katie and many other (female) reporters have some tought shoes to fill. We’ve had other female reporters interview foreign mandataries and made them fess up about personal and quite intimate details.

This goes to show you again how shallow Sen Obama was. He had the chance to put an intellegent, repected, courageous woman on the ticket – truly making the Democratic Ticket historic. When Sara Palin did not answered the “newspaper questions” I strongly view that she is smart because she is journalist by education as well and can hedge off a catch-ya questions even though it may post as a innocent one. (do any of you know exactly which magazine that you read at the doctor office or do you read any and as much as you can whatever that is there a your or your kids doctor office?) I read my newspaper at the local library and asked to use magazines at my doctor’s office as recycle product since they throw away about 40 per month. After I am done with those I also bring it to Hascom AFB Family exercise room for patron (mostly moms) to use while they are on various machines (Reuse+Recycle=Reduce waist)
Folks Sara Palin is smarter than we giving her credit for. For example she asked Bidden if she could call him as “Joe” is a set up so she can let him fall into her trap to lay on him a preset line as “Say it isn’t so JOE…” I think the intellectual folks as well as Bidden can see that he felled into her trap right after she make that well crafted line. I can sense from seeing that Bidden become impressed & respecting her more after the debate for her confident and her well thought coming back at him (mind you he knows that all eyes on her, cameras on her, the world is watching her) and she is not shaken yet she has the gall to stir him up instead.
I also want to say thanks to Mrs. Clinton for sticking up for another women that already paid her due and have the guts and attitude to work her way up to and through various glass sealing = Sara Palin. There has never been a women Mayor in her town, and there has never been a women Governor in her state — yet she worked on it on her own (will, intelligent, handwork…)with her spouse and family to get there not being handed for by her family connections or money or special interest set aside college entrance Ivy League university degree. * * Thanks to Mrs. Clinton * * for being a true women to herself + her female counter parts and last but not least to her younger female generations such as her daughter Chelsea, my daughters and Sara Palin daughters to recognize in the public forum for Sara Palin’s hard work, determination, sweats and tears for doing and accomplishing as much as Sara Palin did in there public life time up-to and including the preparation and deliberation of the VP debate. Mrs. Clinton was fair and kind to her women-kind as it should be. I have more respect for Mrs. Clinton for speaking up for Sara Palin in the public statement as well as VP candidate Geraldine Ferrero on MSNBC right after the debate “…Sara Palin is very much presidential …” via the completion of the debate with Bidden.
If any women or men take on with oil companIES and even won have my vote that they will fight for me, my family and most of all my country when in time of need. When a women or men fight against their own party (normally a kiss of death for their political career) and even WON over these forces then they truly work for the people and not for the good-old-boys network or soon to be golden parachute CEOs of corporations — thus they will get my vote as well as my dedication to teach my young children (who I have and will always bring them to the voting booth since 1st child was 18mos now up to JrHS … HS is a different story) about what is a leader and who has the quality of a leader for the people and to our country.
As a small business person I always look for a contractor currently busy and working on another project similar to my need and hire them to work on my job for our business rather than looking for a person that walk up to me and claim that they can do XYZ – then I have to check them out much more to have basis and confident to hire them. Grandpa always said give the job to the person that is currently busy since they always know how to get things done = Sara Palin currently working as an executive or president of a company = her state Alaska. Don’t get me wrong when the job is not as critical I also hired unemployed single mom, HS and college kids, to spread the work and income to those in need as well. Yet a big and important job I screened my project leader/manager wisely and most likely not to someone have no experience when I don’t have the time to have to teach them as OJT (On the Job Training.)
We should not be a continuous fool for expecting and believing everything politicians said and promised during the race but on their experience and character and proven records/accomplishments isn’t that what corporations and companies hiring gate checks as well and universities and colleges used to accept their student candidates. Why are we such a fool in believing only on thousand up on thousand of words from stump speeches and political ads. Don’t we all learned from what the media play it over and over what the prior candidates said that made them sound as fool when we hear it again and again and they wish that the media stop using and playing those empty promises lines or ridiculous sound bites = John Kerry said ” … ready to report for duty …” Howard Dean “… Yeehaa!…” Bush Jr. “… but I am the decider …” Nixon “… I am not a crook!…” – - should I say more or are you remembered these empty or silly political words and statements all during the campaign time. Please American wake up and stop being petty with the small and noise points but look deeper and harder at the things and qualities points in an candidate that is not even obvious to the eyes and mind at first.
I hope you join me to do your homework and hard work to chose the right person for this hard job P/VP but not using the emotional points that you might ware loosely on your sleeves to make your choices and decisions. – - Best
