In Montana GOP Radio Ad, Hank Williams Jr. Hits Obama for “Bitter” Comment
Remember last April when Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., clumsily described economically struggling small towners as "cling"ing to guns, God, and bigotry?
Hank Williams Jr., does.
In a new radio spot airing in Montana, Williams says: "When Barack Obama said folks like you and me were bitter, and clinging to religion, I knew he just doesn’t understand small town America," says Williams, adding: "We love our God, and we love our guns, ‘specially handed down from our grandfathers. And we resent it when liberals like Obama question our way of life. Don’t be bitter, vote McCain."
One has to say: Montana? What the hell are Republicans doing airing anti-Obama ads in Montana? Are they really worried those three electoral votes will go red?

Not all Montanan’s feel like Jr. in fact I’d bet he isn’t really from Montana but just imported himself there. We’re always getting a bunch of nuts that come there, spout off and do something stupid then people think Montana has nutty people. Not so, they’re all imports, Kazinski etc. Real Montanan’s are pretty free thinking and hard working and don’t need to be prejudice since they haven’t had a reason to dislike anyone. They mostly aren’t nut cases either though one or two crazy relatives might slip through. Max Baucus has represented us and we have a Democratic governor so Jr. is NOT speaking for us!

I have to agree with Jenny–a resounding endorsement from a washed-up, ex-addict of a country singer who’s coasted on his reputation for far too long.

Obama is bitter, just like his radical minister that he sat and supposedly didn’t ‘hear’ for 20 years. The only reason he’s smiling so big these days is because he is thinking of the sweet revenge almost within his grasp.

But then Hank was problem drunk or high when he did the ad. I wonder if he even remembers making it?

He is a resident of Tennessee, and has a home in Montana, too. That’s where he fell off the side of a mountain back before he had to have massive reconstructive surgery. Heh. The ad is getting airplay all over the country on TV today–because McCain played it in Montana–a place no one expected him to play it.
Reminding everyone all over the country that Obama told Gun Rights and Christians that they were “Bitter and Clinging to their Guns”
So, some cheap air time in a tiny state…gets national air time for free and a ton of folks talking about the “Bitter, clingy” stuff again…and all you can thing is “bad for McCain”?
Will there be some that see it as desperate? Sure. But remember–this race at this point is about a few undecided voters in a few crucial battleground states. Airtime in Montana is far cheaper than buying it in all of the other states (PA, OH, VA)…so McCain killed many birds with one very small stone today.
And maybe reached some of those 6-11% of undecideds that remain.

In 1975 Hank fell 500 feet down a mountain in Montana and landed on his head. Then after he recouperated he went to Alabama and supported George Wallace, having his picture taken with him and contributed money to him. He then wrote a song that says if the south had won the civil war, he (Hank) would have run for president of the confederate states. So that’s the base that McCain is playing to! No surprise here all around.

LEAVITTSBURG, Ohio (AP) – A teenager was wounded in the arm by a man who said he wanted to stop the boy and another from taking his John McCain yard sign, authorities said.
Warren Township police Lt. Don Bishop said 50-year-old Kenneth Rowles told officers he got out a .22-caliber rifle Saturday afternoon to fire warning shots, not hurt anyone. The two shots hit the van the teens were in.

I am from Montana and can tell you that Mr. Williams DOES NOT speak for Montanans. We are not “backword” people that are worried about losing our guns….like everyone else we are more worried about losing homes, retirements, healthcare, and JOBS!!! He might live here part time but he IS NOT A MONTANAN!!!! To answer another posters question, yes, we are concerned about the environment. We are watching a national treasure melt (Glacier National Park) and we are also concerned about stream access laws (thanks to guys like Mr. Williams who buy up HUGE chunks of land and think that they OWN the stream they live on and put up fences so “others” can’t fish there!) and other environmental issues such as drilling, clean coal, wind and solar power. Also, since we are a rural state, transportation is a issue we are also concerned about. Just because we are a rural state doesn’t mean that we don’t have the same issues as someone in NY, Chicago or LA. (as much as the repubs would like to believe we are gun toting religious nuts!) We also worry about the rising cost of sending our kids to college and after they get their education most kids have to move away due to lack of jobs to help them pay off the massive debt of student loans. I pay the price to live in Montana, I am a native and returned here to raise my child and can’t believe what has happened to my state due to people like Mr. Williams that think they “know” Montana. If you want to hear from a “real” Montanan, read a little about Gov. Schweitzer, Sen. Baucus, and Sen. Tester….TRUE MONTANANS!

You are only “an American” if you we’re born on American soil, and claim to be “an American”. If you claim to be an “Irish American”, a “Native American”, an “African American”,… you don’t count. So think about what you claim to be. Think about what your allegiences are. Are you an American first and “everything else” second? Here’s a hint. Read Washington’s fairwell address. They read it on the floor of the Senate every year. Too bad none of our current crop of self-serving lawyer politicians hangs aorund to listen to it. They might learn something about dividing and destroying a country. However, they’ve all decided to ignore wisdom and learn the hard way,… by actually destroying the country.

Another admission from the McCain campaign that their health care plan is nothing more than a bunch of right-wing platitudes thrown together without any real serious thought as to how to solve the health care crisis. From CNN:
Shorter Douglas Holtz-Eakin: John McCain’s health care plan won’t destroy the employer-based insurance system because McCain’s plan doesn’t work. Remember John McCain: Less jobs, more war? Well now it’s John McCain: More tax, less benefits.

Look at what we have all become when we suggest Obama is the right candidate for this period of time. Let’s take race out of the question and what we have is an arrogant, disrespectful, and corrupt poltician looking to fulfill a name in the history book. Every speech him and Michelle say are rehearsed and full of promises that will not be kept. He is a candidate with no experiance and has no business running for President. Why can’t the Dems give a candidate who is qualified and worth voting for. I have not voted for a democratic candidate since President Clinton. Real Sad! but McCain is the better experianced choice. Look at the track records and not because Oprah or Some Hollywood person steered you, as well do not base it on color. Make up your own mind with what is the right thing to do for this country.

To one audience, Obama belittle’s traditional American values. Then, he turns around and is suddenly the champion of the middle class.
Which is it? Does anyone really know for sure? The best way to find out is to ignore what he says and study his history of public service, his voting record and his associations. Then, come to your own conclusion.

public campaign financing; offshore oil drilling; FISA; PATRIOT ACT; gun control; NAFTA and free trade; withdrawal of our troops from Iraq (now responsibly versus March 31, 2008), meeting “without preconditions” with Admadinejad – now using different semantics “with preparation.”
If he’s already flip-flopping shamelessly during the election campaign, what are the chances that he’ll keep his promises if he becomes president?

It’s interesting that the small towners’ reaction to being called bitter is to get bitter.”

Obama supporters are a bunch of whiners who have selective hearing and eyesight.
Where was the outrage from you Obama supporters when CNN, MSNBC, CBS, ABC, and internet sources declared open season on McCain/Palin campaign? The manner in which the media, Barack Obama, his campaign and you Obama supporters viciously attacked, slandered Gov. Palin, her husband and their innocent children the minute it was announced that she was the VP candidate. The media, Barack Obama, his campaign and you Obama supporters have been more vicious against Gov. Palin than Senator Hillary Clinton, because she’s a Republican, pro-life, and you see her as a threat because she does not support your issues.
What about the way the media, Obama, his campaign, and you Obama supporters viciouly smeared, slandered, attacked the McCains, and Joe the Plumber?
If Americans knowingly aware of Barack Obama baggage vote for him and if he’s elected, so be it, at least I will say that I did not vote for him. But don’t cry or complain when he continues to go back on his word the way he has since the primaries against Hillary to the present.
Barack Obama’s pastor associations with Jeremiah Wright, Louis Farrakan, Michael Pfleger, Jessie Jackson, and Al Sharpton. What true Christian believes in abortion/infanticide, same sex marriage, race-baiting, sexism, etc?
What true or practicing Christian pals around with these nut-cases who are unworthy to preach the word of God?
Barack Obama’s radical, terrorist, and criminal associations with Frank Davis Marshall, Rashid Khalidi, Bill Ayers, Khalid Al-Monsour, Antoine Resko, his brother Odinga and his other siblings from Kenya, and who knows how many other radical corrupted associations.
Please people, wake up and be open-minded. You sound like if you’re hypnotized. Research any of the above listed people and you will read that all of them are America haters, racists, and corrupt. They want to bring down America. Frank Davis Marshall was a poet and writer who mentored, brainwashed, poisoned and corrupted Obama from the age of 10 until he left to college against anybody who was not African-American. The irony is that Barack Obama’s father was like 6% African blood, 47% from Sudan, 47% Somali, and that makes Obama more Arab (47%) than African (3%), and 50% whatever his mother was. As of today, I haven’t heard what ethnicity Obama’s mother was. Everything is a mystery about Barack Obama.
If you Obama supporters think the Jeremiah Wright ad is unfair, it’s not because he attended that church for 20 years, and Wright was like his family. Obama called him a mentor like an uncle.
Google Obama mocking the Bible? If all the above listed associations and him mocking the Bible doesn’t dissuade you Obama supporters from voting for him, we’re in deep trouble.

If Barack Hussein Obama is elected POTUS, I’ll be withdrawing my 401K as soon as the elections results are announced. I rather pay 15 percent penalty for early withdrawal than let him tax me on it. Then I’ll retire from my job and let the government support me. Why work if Barack Hussein Obama is going to spread the wealth?
