‘It’s a Whole Different Game’
When your adversaries are praising you, you must be doing something right. Listen to this from one top Republican campaign official who says Barack Obama’s ground game is unlike anything we’ve ever seen before: "This is the greatest ground game they’ve ever put together," he told ABC News on the condition of anonymity. "It’s scary." He said Obama holds a considerable ground game advantage over McCain and suggests the Democratic nominee has hundreds of paid staffers in each state. Unlike in 2004 when then-Democratic nominee Sen. John Kerry’s campaign "parachuted" paid staff people into key states a few days before the election, the GOP official said the Obama campaign has had paid staffers and enthusiastic volunteers in key battleground states for months — thanks to record breaking fundraising hauls and a brutal Democratic primary battle that energized volunteers. "It’s a whole different game," he said. "They’ve been at this since six months ago … they have total familiarity [with voters]." Another ground game factor? Obama’s ability to tap into young voters using text messages, emails, and Facebook, the popular social networking Web site. "They’re texting and getting $10 bucks from college kids," he said. –George Stephanopoulos

This is why I believe the polls underestimate Obama. The AA and young vote will come out strongly for Obama on Nov 4.
And b/c most polls don’t poll cell phone users… young voters aren’t poll as much.
I can honestly say I believe its an Obama landslide.

Obama will win. The “Change Revolution” of 2008 is soon to be American History. It’s a movement, and Bush is the tragic figure in history here.

Depending on young voters is a very bad idea. They are amazingly unreliable when it comes to getting out to the polls.
They would rather talk about supporting someone and text about it and wear the t-shirts, but actually getting them to the polls has always been a major difficulty.
Espeically in Ohio and Florida, which are two states I’m nervous about. They are moving back to McCain and we Obama people need as many EC votes as we can get!

If Obama can run the country half as well as he has run his campaign, he may just be the one of the best Presidents we have ever had. I have complete confidence in him; he really knows what he is doing!

I agree
this is the first ime in my 38 year history that I can see election day being a “young event”
Election day has always had importance…
but it was not like Xmas…or Halloween or 4th of July or Live Aid
this year it feels like all those things wrapped into one…
and that spells a landslide for Obama.

There is a distinct possabilty that the present lead Obama has will snowball into a landslide. I suspect that Mcain already knows that his bid for the presidency is a dead man walking. Having lost the presidency and the democratics having a filbuster proof majority in the senate his focus is on stopping a two thirds majority in each house. I think events and poor judgement has shagged Macain rotten. Its now just a question of how big the shagging is going to be.

You are correct!! I am a faithful donor to the campaign….I love what President Obama is doing for this Ctry, for politics, and for ourselves….and if you think about this…noone has really talked about it….what happens to his awesome conmputerized network? I will tell you what…he will use that and transition it into working goverenment….being able to communicate with us via email, he will do web seiminars and communicate his plans with us, more ppl will join in and we will push the media to report truthfully, he will also use it as a method of transparency, and I feel when he gets into Office, the first 60-90 days he will unviel so much of how we have been taken advantage of, and then we will get to work finally fixing the problems and steering in the right direction, Obama will aslo ask us for our input and our ideas on how to govern this great nation!!! I cannot wait!!

The republicans had the presidency and the legislative branches during the first 6 years of Bush. What did they do with that? Are you better off financially today than you were when Clinton left office? Morale has gone down the tubes with the stock market. USA’s image globally is in the tank. Obama brings hope and renewal of values.

Vanessa thinks young people and cell phone users aren’t polled as much. Vanessa, there are millions of Democrats in this election who won’t take calls from pollsters because they don’t want to admit they aren’t voting for the Democratic candidate. I know some of these very people. They let the answering machine pick up. They lie when asked who they are voting for. They don’t put McCain signs on their lawns or bumper stickers on their cars because they are afraid of Obama thugs. And not all young people are for Obama. Some of those young people just don’t speak up. I’m 24 years old, and keep my mouth shut on campus. I’m voting for McCain, and I grew up in a Democratic family. I’ll bet there are other college students just like me. And unlike most young people, I WILL show up at the polls to vote – for John McCain.

Barack Obama has not been forthcoming when he says his relationship with unrepentant terrorist bomber Bill Ayers was casual, Bill O’Reilly said on Tuesday’s “O’Reilly Factor.” And he took Obama to task on the matter.
Obama says that he was unaware of Ayers’ background and unaware that Ayers had compared Christian and Jewish fundamentalists to Muslim jihadists in 2002 when the two men were associated with each other.
O’Reilly played an April 2002 tape of Ayers speaking to a radio station in which Ayers said, “I considered myself partly an anarchist then, and I consider myself partly an anarchist now.
“I’m as much an anarchist as I am a Marxist . . . I find a lot of the ideas in anarchism appealing. We create felons by having these archaic, puritan drug laws that make no sense whatsoever in any logical way, so in that sense, I still feel like kind of an anarchist. I don’t feel like the rules apply.
“And if they don’t apply,” Ayers added, “ I don’t feel like [anyone] should follow them . . . Is one of those regrets that I took strong measures against the United States at a time of tremendous crisis?” he asked, answering, “no it is not. I don’t regret that . . .
“There is a struggle over various religious fundamentalisms, jihad being the most visible. But the religious fundamentalism of the Christian and the Jews is equally troubling,”
O’Reilly commented, “He’s quite a guy. During that time that interview was taken, ‘The Factor’ has learned that Barack Obama had frequent contact with Ayers. They were both on the board of the Woods Fund in Chicago. They were both involved with criminal justice issues together. Obama does not deny that.”
“And this seems to be more than just a casual relationship,” O’Reilly added, noting, “In 1997, Barack Obama gave the Chicago Tribune a blurb for Ayers’ book. A short time later, Michelle Obama organized a panel held at the University of Chicago featuring Ayers and Obama, among others. So there’s no way that Obama did not know Ayers was a radical. It is simply not possible.”
O’Reilly suggested that voters take heed: “The question now becomes, Is this an important issue for you, the voter? For someone like Colin Powell it is not. But others believe it is important.
“The end game in all this is that Bill Ayers is a bad guy, a bad American, an unrepentant terrorist and Obama knew it; yet, for whatever reason, he continued the association. That’s important.”

Now W.VA is incurring voter fraud:
Virginia Matheney and Calvin Thomas said touch-screen machines in the county clerk’s office in Ripley kept switching their votes from Democratic to Republican candidates.
“When I touched the screen for Barack Obama, the check mark moved from his box to the box indicating a vote for John McCain,” said Matheney, who lives in Kenna.

Kevin, I hear the same things from family/friends about keeping your mouth shut. Repubs have a reason to vote against Obama. Democrats feel guilty so they lie or don’t talk at all. I know too many Dems voting McCain to believe these poll numbers. Either polls are skewed, or people are lying or hanging up/not answering fones. My whole family’s voting McCain and they’re all Dems. NOT ONE has a McCain sign, sticker, nothing. They just don’t talk about it – except among the family. It’s like a big secret – just shut up and vote against Obama. If the rest of the country is like my family/friends (I live Eureka, Missouri), the country’s in for a shock.

AP pole showed that both are equal in national pol. This is scarry. Bradly effect is due to voter supression by republicans ( Sect. of State in different States) and rejection of African American votes. see Rolling Stone article. So Obama may have registered many voters , they will not be allowed to vote if there is even slight variation such as initial vs full middle name in driver license and voter registration or similar abbreviation in street address ( Lane or Ln). Unless Democrat protect right to vote not be rejected by minor technicality, pols mean nothing and Democrats will lose. I do not understand Democrat had 8 years to fix this problem and could not do it. Voter suppression is real. Atleast fake registrant do not vote.

The Ayers/ACORN is a feeble grasp for any straw the right wing get reach. For one thing ACORN has registered hundreds of thousands of voters and most of the ones who actually showed up to vote had no problem – facts support this. Are you equally concerned about discrepancies in voting machines that have been found in Republican controlled districts in Ohio and Fl? No, I didn’t think so. It’s telling that the Republican approach to Democracy is to try to create less voter turnout, that’s patriotism at its best eh?

Get over it, yes Ayers is a bad person who ended up serving time for his bad acts. But where is the outcry for all the Republicans who also were on the same board with him, by the way the founder of the charity being a very close friend of Ronald Reagan?
People sitting on boards together does not necessarility mean they form a personal relationship (this would require them spending significant personal time together outside of that venue); to my knowledge that is not the case.
Also, the comments attributed to him about not being repentent involves his view that “he did not do enough to end the Vietnam War and save more military lives” and he made that statement just prior to 9/11 to help sell his book. I am a retired military man (30+ years) and went to Vietnam. I did not like all the protests because they took it out on us but I did understand why there was so much anger about that war. We had people dying for a country whose people were unwilling and unable to fight for their own nation (sound familiar?).
Our government back then, as they are now, backed politically/financially greedy leaders who only cared about lining their pockets (another theme happening today).
You need to get a grip and if you and others are so hell bent on supporting such bad policies then you need to join the military and go defend our nation by risking your lives rather than shooting off your mouths without fully comprehending the absolute horors of war!

Obama’s campaign, both from its fundraising efforts and his level of contact with supporters has been extraordinary. The way his campaign has been run and the new incorporation of technology bodes well for his Presidency if elected.

Dave No my son didn’t get tired of arguing politics with me.I didn’t discuss politics with him much. He honestly doesn’t care. He probably isn’t as mature as you. But I do know quite a few of his friends were for McCain and this might have confused him to the point of not caring. Because I must admit I do know he’s not to up on issues, he just thought Obama was cool and to be quite honest because he was black and he wanted to support a black candidate. Nothing to do with issues.

What are you talking about? First, you do not know me. I served in the USAF for eight years, I served in OIF 2003-2006. So, whoever you are…thanks for your comments…but I support Obama and nothing such as Ayers, Socialism, terrorist or anything will change my mind because Obama is the one candidate who has the thinking ability to lead.

Francheska Why would my story be so suspect? I have a very unpolitical son who doesn’t care who wins the Presidency. He is not very mature I admit. But then agian I did not pay attention to politics when I was 19 either. So my son will vote for McCain because I asked him to. Is there something wrong with that? I guess so from the Obama supporters after all rebellion is part of his mo. Well sorry my son is not rebelling he is just voting for McCain because I asked him to. And I am sure when he matures and is older and on his own he will pay more attention and make his own decisions. Sorry just the way it is.By the way I have a democrat friend who tells her four children and 82 year old mother who to vote for and they listen and yes it will be Obama. So don’t worry about my one childs vote.

Jimbo. What police officers were killed and by whom? I’m always amazed at how closed minded and judgemental people are. Do you really know the minds of the people you work with? I admire someone that can put their beliefs and judgements aside and work with people they may not normally. Sometimes it’s just the way it is. And I think it’s amuzing the people who get on here and profess to be so horrified by it, when in truth, they didn’t even know who Ayers was before this election. And don’t you think it’s odd that you haven’t seen any footage of Ayers except old footage. He’s working and minding his own business and maybe all you cynics should do the same. The past should stay in the past. The 60′s were a tumultuos time. Most of your parents weren’t even born. Stick to the issues that affect Americans, right now that would be our livelyhood. Not some ex-terrorist.

maybe he just couldn’t admit he was wrong.
had he chose romney or even pawlenty, this would of been a totally different race.

thing i cannot understand is that ayers served his time in prison just like g. gordon liddy…which mccain doesn’t want to publicly admit, is one of his good friends, liddy which masterminded the watergate incident…and served time in the pen for burglary and consequently forced pres. richard nixon to resign in 1974. so they both served time in prison. apparently ayers is rehabilitated as well as liddy because they both function in today’s society without issues…except to the republicans…

Get a grip people, Acorn may have registered a million people, but seriously, how many times do you think “mickey mouse” is going to be able to vote? Registration fraud is not an efficient way to steal a win for the election. It IS, however a good tool for the loser to use to give cause to suppress and harass voters on the other side.
Another good way to steal an election is with faulty voting machines, Just ask GWB. I encourage everyone to make sure the lever you pull registers a vote for the candidate of your choice.

MEMO TO MCCAIN: It does not matter what you say, how many false promises you make or how mad you get. When votes go into the booth on November 4 and close the drapes behind them it will be the poor character, the lies, the abuse of power and the lack of principles of Sarah Palin who have scared the hell out of voters that will decide this election in favor of Obama!!! Right now you can no longer be trusted as you will promise the voters the earth, the moon, the sun and the stars just to get elected. However, it was your extremely poor judgement in picking Sarah Palin as your VP that will sink your ship. Sarah Palin is UNQUALIFIED, UNREADY TO LEAD AND A TOTAL BASKET CASE!!!!!!!!

Obama’s campaign is right out of the radical, revolutionary Marxist, community organizer Saul Alinsky’s “Rules for Radicals.”
Obama said he learned the most from Saul Alinsky! When? Well, Obama was a community organizer for four years!
Obama also trained ACORN using Saul Alinsky’s “Rules for Radicals” strategies!
POTUS via Saul Alinsky is a change America does not need! :(
Obama doesn’t give a hoot about the middle class! He just cares about Obama-power! :(
But, if Obama becomes POTUS, the pendulum will swing back with just as much anti-Obama anger as we now see against Bush!

Do you realize that no matter how hard you try to dicredit, smear, make racists remarks, and threats, Barack keeps his cool, smiles and is always under control. He is running the best campaign in the history of the United States.

I’m sick of the Republican administration. The Democrats presently have only a slim majority in the 2 houses of Congress — not enough to override a presidential veto & Bush will always wield his veto pen to any Democratic legislation. After Nov. 4, however, the color of both Congress and the Administration will be Blue instead of Red, just as it became when FDR took office. We’re back in that same leaky boat with Bush & Co. rocking it wildly, but Obama has the cool head, and the foresight to surround himself with qualified people, as well as the judgment to act appropriately, which has been sadly lacking the past 8 years.

Yes I think he must have great ground forces. Last month, I saw a woman on an early morning picking up trash and cleaning up the street. A few blocks farther, a man doing the same thing. At first I thought, wow, these are really good citizens, but then I saw they were wearing Obama tshirts. I have to say I was impressed. It must have been part of a group or campaign effort as more were seen throughout the day. That made me think, these are really good people, and they support Obama. Obama brings out good and positive change, while all I’ve seen from McCain and Palin are that they are bringing out negatives and insults. And I haven’t seen one of their supporters try to clean up the neighborhood yet.

The only left for the Republicans is theft of the election by voter suppression, voting machine “glitches”, and intimidation. When the Democrats are elected have the 60 vote Senate majority a number of measures need to be taken to further protect elections for these tactics including standardization of voting processes, stiff jail sentences for those using the type of practices Republicans are famous for. There also needs to be some other measures to correct the excessive of the Republicans. We need a constitutional amendment protecting and extending the right to privacy. We need to push hard for DC statehood, getting two more Democrats into the Senate, also Puerto Rico. We also need to do what FDR threaten to do in the 1930′s and that is increase the size of the Supreme Court to 11 to appoint justices that will protect our rights. We need to put the GOP in the trash heap of history where they belong.

If McCain had picked a viable vp such as Romney he might have had a chance. But the huge mistake of pandering for the female vote by choosing someone who might have discussed a fireworks budget in some small AK town, put the fork in him. His temper would most certainly get us into more trouble with the world community. And finally he has no idea what middle class is. With his millions and the seven houses he has, no wonder he wants to keep the bush tax cuts the way they are currently. Mr. McCain your friends should be telling you to go home!

Also, his “independent team” method leverages volunteers vastly more than traditional models. Once a paid staffer has a team of volunteers up and running in a given area, they can hand it off and move on to building another team. Meanwhile, the first team is not only coordinating activities for their area, but recruiting more talented volunteers that the paid staffers can use to create new teams. It’s a viral, scalable model that’s incredibly efficient in terms of work done per paid staffer.

A president’s performance can be fairly gauged by how well organized his campaign is. McCain’s campaign has been a mess from the beginning. The GOP just had no better alternative (scary, I know). Obama has run a tightly organized, leak-proof, stable machine that is about to empower the average joe. If a campaign is at all reflective of the candidate, there is no comparison between the two men. If you include McCain’s choice as running mate, it becomes a joke, because that choice has itself become a national joke.
Posted by: The Artful Dodger | October 22, 2008, 7:17 pm 7:17 pm
We need to make sure the voting machines are not rigged to change votes from Obama to McCain (this has already been reported in early voting in Florida), that voters are not removed from voter-list unfairly and that people are not prevented from voting.
If everyone is allowed to vote and their votes are counted properly, Obama will be our next president. Otherwise, there will be yet another stolen election and we cannot stand for it again.

As an independant I have been following this election a lot. They are many things I disagree with that I have seen. I have seen republicans try to point out all of Obamas faults and associations and forgetting about there own issues. Seems to me with every finger pointed 10 more point at the mccain/palin ticket. I for one dont care about ayers or whomever else Mccain or Obama knew I have known some shaky charaters myself what I do care about is someone who brings 175,000 people together in one day and give them hope that the next 8 years wont be like the last 8. I care about someone who will at least mention the middle class I care about someone who for the most part turns the other cheek I care about someone who is having meetings with goveners right now to find out there ideas on how to get back on track instead of slinging mud I care about someone who is humble and has something to say someone who is a good example some who had handled money so well that he can out spend mccain and his rich wife I wouldnt care if obama changed his mind about how he would raise his money which is not really the case but….just shows me he is smarter than the average bear. Anyhow my point is I was proud to do my part, be a maverick and put country 1st by casting my vote for Barack Obama. Why did Obama change his mind and refuse public financing? For one thing, he found that there were lots of ordinary people like me who would send small donations to his campaign – and he realized that the Republicans had been able to buy the presidency in the past by using the loopholes that are there for pouring in money for “outside the campaign” groups that are supposed to only advertise on issues, not for candidates. The republicans have used this method for years to buy political offices.
Why does Obama have so much more money that McCain? Because ordinary people like me keep sending him $10, $20, $25 from time to time to support his campaign. There’s the real landslide. I’ve never sent money to campaigns before.
But, heck, this time I even sent $20 to Elwin Tinklenberg of Minnesota (when I live in Washington State) just because I want to see that woman, Michele Bachmann defeated so that she can’t resurrect McCarthyism in this country.
Obama has turned me into a participating player in this election – and that’s why he has such a big campaign chest. People like me actually think we can affect the outcome of this election.
Go Obama/Biden!

Are all Republicans stupid or does your right wing ideology override your rational mind.
Barack Obama was 8 years old in 1968 when William Ayres was in the Weather Underground. He planted no bombs, nor was he a child terrorist.
40 years later, he served on a nonprofit educational board funded by the widow of Ronald Reagen’s friend and ambassador Walter Annenberg.
William Ayres whose legal case is now over was on this board along with other Educators and Corporate Executives including the President of Northwestern University.
Could someone please tell me how this makes Barack Obama a terrorist.

It is amazing what intelligence can do for a campaign. This country has already been tested during the campaign. First with Russia and Georgia, it was Senator Biden the Georgians wanted to talk to so he went there. Then comes the economy, it was crystal clear September 15 when McCain said the fundamentals of the economy were strong and then a little later in the day stating we are in crisis and tried to backtrack on his statement attributing his statements to the workers are strong. We know that already about the workers but McCain, did you really think Americans are that stupid? McCain does not project that he knows anything about the economy and is still grasping at straws. His VP pick is not “Country First”. I have seen several decisions McCain makes and I find them scary and without much thought

If and when Obama is elected it will be the biggest mistake as Americans we will have ever made. He has yet to make good on any promises he has ever made. What makes his supporters think he’ll start now???
Because he runs a great campaign and a smooth talker, people think it gives him the credentials to run this country…he’s preying on the ignorance and emotions of our society to gather support…and unfortunately it’s working.

Perhaps the U.S. should pull out of Chicago. This was the report a few months ago.
Last six months 292 murdered in Chicago
more than 221 killed in Iraq
Senators are Barack Obama & Durbin
LEADERSHIP IN ILLINOIS – ALL DEMOCRATS.
Welcome to the combat zone in Chicago where they’re all blaming each other. Can’t blame Republicans cause there aren’t any!
Illinois State pension fund $44 Billion in debt, worst in country.
Cook County ( Chicago ) sales tax 10.25% highest in country. (Look ‘em up)
Chicago school system rated one of the worst in the country.
This is the political culture that Obama comes from in Illinois .
And he’s gonna ‘fix’ Washington politics for us! Get real people

The “Obama Effect” can counteract a potential “Bradley Effect”. The “Obama Effect” will be not only young people and African Americans voting in record numbers (as pundits have pointed out) but white people in conservative states who tell pollsters they’re voting for McCain (e.g., in order to avoid guff from their more hard-line conservative spouses) but then pull the lever for Obama in the privacy of the voting booth. However, people need to quit slapping each other high fives about the Democrats’ big win when most of the country hasn’t even voted yet. If we become complascent about our chances based on polls we will lose. Also, don’t forget that, while it is possible that young people for Obama are being underrepresented in polls, it is also possible that polls are underrepresenting more conservative voting blocs too (e.g., people serving in the military overseas, older people who don’t respond to telephone surveys, etc.). We only win if we vote.

This thread is so funny. Obama doesn’t run his campaign. LOL! His regime takes care of all that. All he has to do is have a good mamory and learn his script well and be able to talk publicly and convincingly, even though it is not true.
I can image the chaos it would be in if he were to try and produce. Certainly, he is learning a few things from this experience, but our country will be in critical shape if he tries to train as our President.

If Obama Wins:
As of November 5, 2008, when President Obama officially becomes president-elect, our company will instill a few new policies which are in keeping with his new, inspiring issues of change and fairness:
1. All salespeople will be pooling their sales and bonuses into a common pool that will be divided equally between all of you. This will serve to give those of you who are under-achieving a “fair shake”.
2. All low level workers will be pooling their wages, including overtime, into a common pool, dividing it equally amongst you. This will help those who are “too busy for overtime” to reap the rewards from those who have more spare time and can work extra hours.
3. All top management will now be referred to as “the government.” We will not participate in this “pooling” experience because the law doesn’t apply to us.
4. The “government” will give eloquent speeches to all employees every week, encouraging its workers to continue to work hard “for the good of all”.
5. The employees will be thrilled with these new policies because it’s “good to spread the wealth around”. Those of you who have underachieved will finally get an opportunity; those of you who have worked hard and had success will feel more “patriotic”.
6. The last few people who were hired should clean out their desks. Don’t feel bad, though, because President Obama will give you free healthcare, free handouts, free oil for heating your home, free food stamps, and he’ll let you stay in your home for as long as you want even if you can’t pay your mortgage. If you appeal directly to our democratic congress, you might even get a free flat screen TV and a coupon for free haircuts (shouldn’t all Americans be entitled to nice looking hair?)!!!
If for any reason you are not happy with the new policies, you may want to rethink your vote on November 4th.

For people still discussing Ayers; Here is a few facts.
This was in the 60′s when Obama was 8. The Weathermen (man?) Underground was protesting the Vietnam War. They Targeted Government Buildings and made sure noone was in them when they blew themm up. As for the Judge’s House. Noone has ever proved that was by the Weathermen, and they deny it. Most Terrorist Groups would claim responsibility. When Obama Met Ayers he (Obama) was on a board for the Annenburg Challenge. Annenburg was a REPUBLICAN and several Republicans were on the same board. Annenburg’s Widow has also donated to McCain’s Campaign. And if you want to talk about Ayers lets also talk about G. Gordon Liddy! Who was going to kidnap and kill people. Look him up. He is an aquantince of McCain’s (and he has called him Friend)

I could never again associate John McCain with the word HONOR after seeing how he has run his campaign. He chose the “MANUFACTURED MAVERICK” S Palin as a political ploy. Since she has stepped on the national stage she has lied sevearl times ie Bridge to no where. selling plane on eBAY. She is divisive with her pro American comments. She may talk like “Joe 6-Pack” but loves that elitist lifestyle from Nieman and Sacks. McCain and Palin are the only candidates I have ever heard of that has both been convicted of ETHICAL VIOLATIONS before taking office. McCAin for Keating 5, Palin for Troopergate. OBAMA has shown consistent steady inspiring and intelligent leadership. He is proactive and insightful. NO NO NO to McBush McSAME lying Palin and Angry McCain. Even McCain’s campaign is being run by same Firm who ran George Bush’s same in every way

Obama Thugs is code word for just some of his supporters who are aggressive mean spirited and radical. It has nothing to do with the color of their skin. These thugs come in all colors, shapes and sizes. They steal yard signs, vandalize cars and try to intimidate.
But don’t worry about these thugs. The Silent Majority will decide this election. We’re the ones not putting signs out and not speaking about who we’re voting for. We’re voting McCain and Palin!!!!
Well if Obama wins maybe these thugs will get drafted thanks to him. Last laughs on them.

Now Obama has changed his tax plan and says if your not working your not going to get any tax money (welfare) help on mortagages. Says the 10% deduction on mortgage interest for taxpayers who don’t itemize would carry a “work requirement.” Which means, if your laid off your NOT GOING TO GET ANY HELP with you mortagage. Yeah! The real Obama.

The latest AP poll is flawed.
AmericaBlog looked over the methodology and a found that the poll skewed far too heavily in favor of Evangelical Christians.
The problem? In 2004, evangelicals/born-again Christians made up 23% of voters. But that same group makes up 44% of likely voters in AP’s poll released today. That’s almost double the number – it’s totally implausible.

So the no bid contracts that went to all these private companies like Blackwater and Halliburton don’t bother you? No bid contracts that are being paid by taxpayer dollars?
There is no evidence that McCain will scale back on the warmongering.

I was just watching a segment on MSNBC that was making a big deal about the cost of Palins clothes…..let’s get real, how lame and ridiculous can you get. Is this the only thing they can come up with for a news cast. No wonder only about 20% watch this ch. How stupid of deal are they are making on her clothes when Michele Obama will be living fat, dumb, and happly lives sitting up there in suite 23-M of the Waldorf towers with her hors d’oeuvres and her lobster and her champagne, and you’re going to be out there begging for crumbs and hoping that what you end up with is sufficient. They’ve got a lot of people that think they’ll get their health care paid for in this way and so forth. This is what they’re all about. This is a good example of how the left news media likes to put the “spin” and negativity on the right. They don’t mention a thing about Obama’s clothes.

Brian Levine wrote (above): “Just remember people…we’re going to have the executive and legislative branches controlled by the Democratic party. Enjoy and don’t come crying back during the next four years.”
It would be hard to imagine ANYONE doing a worse job than that of the GOP president and GOP dominated Congress. Even after the Demos achieved majorities, the Republican congresspeople have continued their obstructionist, screw-the-enemy at all costs tactics even as a minority. The ‘enemy’ was supposed to be the Demos — but it really ended up being the nation.
Obama has seemed to promise that we might rise above that. Obviously he’ll have to prove as good at herding cats in the Democratic-controlled Congress as he has proven to be a campaigner.
If he can, things might not be so bad. But if those in the legislature prove as undisciplined as Democratic legislators often have in the past, control could go back to the Republicans.
And, unless things change, I think we’re going to see a GOP that is even farther to the right in coming years.
So… interesting times.

One clear indicator we have to determine how the presidential candidates will lead is to watch how they run their campaigns. McCain’s campaign certainly lacks strategy and clearly focuses on the short-term; we NEED a president that has enough insight, intelligence and foresight to develop a cohesive national strategy in these difficult times. We can’t afford a shortsighted president. Even more so, we CAN’T afford a Palin presidency.

Gosh they were really pretty slow to get it how Obama prepared the ground game over a long period of time!
Time and again we see that Obama is a silent, steady worker who does not make a lot of fanfare about his accomplishments.
After all Community Organizer does not seem to be a bad preparation to run such a successful campaign! I don’t know of any campaign which worked so smoothly and build such a strong grassroots movement. I guess this is completely unprecedented.
And there is more good news: with the strong grassroots movement Obama prepared in the same time a solid net where the communication and involvement can go on right after he is elected.
Forgive me the jab but I think most of the people who are against him are simply to lazy to do something for the country.
Why? Because one thing is sure: Obama will continue to ask for our support and for our opinions when he is President of the United States of America.
No person can bring the necessary change about alone and he knows the fabrics of democracy is US… . I am very happy that he takes the lead as he is a truly excellent leader.
God bless America, Obama and the world!

You can say forget Bill Ayers, “Obama was only 8 years old” but it shows what the Character is of Obama to associate with Him and a bunch of other shady people and I’m sure Obama’s ideology and thinking is very similar to Ayers and some of the other people that have been involved in banking scam that has ripped the taxpayers of Millions. Ayers is closely associated with Obama. You just can’t accept it or you just want to deny it. They all are trying to push the leftist movement in one way or another. Ayers did it violently and Obama is trying to do it peacefully through the political system. No real difference in there thinking. Birds of a feather flock together.

Regarding the college students who said they were afraid to have McCain bumper stickers for fear of Obama “thugs”:
A man walked in to the church my daughter attends and shot two people to death—one a good friend. He said he was out to kill liberals. It was terrible.
A female professor in the next town had an Obama bumper sticker and sign in her back window and was attacked on the road at night. A car tried to run her off the road while the occupants yelled that she was a “n*****-lover”.
Maybe things are different in your state. In ours, voting for Obama opens a person to charges that they are a degenerate, godless socialist. In addition to all the racist stuff.

I think the foreign countries are going to make a good joke and have a good laugh, same as they did with Clinton on this election. We give the keys to the Whitehouse to a person that has a Muslim background, has no record of getting anything accomplished, nobody has heard of him until a couple of years ago, has associated himself with shady people most of his life and has never run anything that has had a budget to it, but he’s a charismatic speaker with no substance. What a joke! On top of that promises a “pie in the sky for everybody” except that 5% at the top and our budget is so loaded with debt were basically bankrupt. 45% of the low income Americans don’t pay any taxes in and get a “low income tax credit check” of $4,500 a year and Obama is going to give them more yet. Wants to increase “foreign aid”, “food stamps”, “healthcare” “education” and “medicare”, but do that all with no tax increase. That’s a good laugh for anybody. So much for the stupid “Americans”. Are Americans really that stupid? I hear that sucking sound again that Ross Perot was talking about.

This is the same news paper that said a month ago that FOX is trying to create false news about ACORN. FOX had the lead on all the news groups. Obama’s group is now going to have the whole electoral process screwed up.

The only thing Obama and Biden can do good is a good talk. These are the same people that brought you the “change” of having to wear seat belts, the “change” of the 55 mph speed limit, the tax on your cell phone bill to pay for cell phones for the low income people (that’s the monthly gov. tax of $7 that you don’t know what it’s for). Take from the have’s and give to the have not’s. That’s not the “change” I have in mind.

Sen. Obama has called for raising the top ordinary income-tax rate, now 35%, to 39.6%. (This means a tax increase for everyone). He also has proposed raising the current 33% rate to 36%. Sen. Obama wants to raise the top long-term capital-gains rate on stocks, bonds and other securities (as well as the rate on qualified dividends)( down goes your retirement nest egg). Obama told a group of college students that he “wants to increase the amount of foreign aid”. How does he plan on increasing aid when the bean counters are already saying there’s no way he can give people a tax cut with the national budget this much in debt. Tinkerbell economics. Obama now is changing his whole stance on taxes. What’s it going to be tomorrow when he’s in office? There isn’t anything you can believe out him. You know he isn’t going to cut taxes, he’s not going to create jobs by taxing corporations, his plans to give homeowners relief for 3 months is a joke, it’s just going to delay them losing there home. Now he wants to drop the penalty on taking your money out of your savings early…..that’s encouraging people to be in worse shape when it comes time to retire. Plain stupid.

The Obama campaign has shown how to leverage the power of the internet to connect with voters and raise money at a very low cost. This campaign will be studied in textbooks for years to come. I didn’t think they could get to that low of level of an Obama supporter. funny, every ad I see by Obama is basically a plain flat out lie, but his supporters must buy into them. He can’t tell you the truth. He won’t say one way or the other how he stands on abortion, that would be telling the truth. He won’t say he’s against guns, that would be telling the truth. He won’t come out say his healthcare plan is a National Healthcare program…that would be telling the truth. He won’t tell you that after he gets in office he is going to have to change his plans and tax everybody, that would be telling you the truth. We all know what he stands for, the same crap the Dimocrats have been pushing for the last 50 years, abortion, anti-2nd amendment rights, perverted same-sex marriage, pro-gay agenda, end free speech as we know it, he’s not going to tell you that, that would be telling the truth. He’s nothing other than a far right extremist. Vote for Obama and vote for socialism and more of the same cesspool were going down, simple as that. Sell your country down the drain some more, and some people buy into that.

Cut the crap already! Let me give you an idea of McCain associates:
Keating 5 – Charles Keating -went to Jail – by the way is related by marriage to the fake Joe the Plumber.
G. GOrdon Liddy – Watergate- went to prison for 4 years and also is McCains good friend at this very moment. McCain says he paid his debt- but this is a man who gave instructions on how to kill Federal Agents – shoot for the head.
Sarah Palin – her husband Todd was a member of the Alaskan independence Party – she sent them a video speech this year 2008 praising them for their work – their founder JOE VOGEL died in a “Plastic explosives sale gone wrong” (wonder what he was going to do with the explosives??) and said that “the fires of hell are as frozen glaciers compared to my hatred for America” Sarah sleeps with a member of that crew.
Any thing more you want to ask about Obama? For every “skeleton” you invent, there are real bones in real graveyards connected to JOHN MCCAIN – what about the hundreds of men killed on that navy ship that he carelessly hit with one of his many careless accidents?

Yeah – Isn’t it “scary” when people are actually competent. I will say that its true. I don’t think anyone involved heavily in politics has seen this kind of organization and discipline in a political campaign. If he applies these skills to his presidency, we may actually have a chance.

Once upon a time, this is how campaigns fought and elections were won: on the ground, in the wards and precincts and parishes and counties, with ground workers and volunteers and paid staff. Once upon a time, tens of thousands of Americans were ACTIVELY involved in the process of making democracy work.
If anything, Obama has given us back the opportunity to be PERSONALLY involved in a campaign, to take ownership of it. Obama’s ground troops may well form the backbone of a newly invigorated Democratic party that remembers that power STILL derives from the people: not the lobbyists, not K street, not Wall Street, not the mansion-dwellers on the hill.

Here is Calypso Louie Farrakhan another buddy of Obama’s, February of this year. He’s the supreme minister of the Nation of Islam, and he said this.
FARRAKHAN: You are the instruments that God is going to use to bring about universal change. And that is why Barack has captured the youth. And he has involved young people in a political process that they didn’t care anything about. That’s a sign. When The Messiah speaks, the youth will hear. And The Messiah is absolutely speaking.
The Democrats have been mired in race for decades. You know, Hillary throws down the gender card, and race markers as Barack tries to run as a person. Barack’s not running as a black guy. Barack is running as a savior. He’s running as a messiah — and there are a lot of liberal Democrats out there, by the way, willing to take that. It’s perverted, but a lot of liberalism is perverted.

I think everybody that votes needs to take the Obama test at http://www.barackobamatest.com and see if he speaks for you. It’s very interesting, not biased either, it shows you how you stack up or don’t stack up to the rest of the country on most issues. I don’t know who created the web site but it really is interesting to take. I think it should be called the voter qualifying test.

Let’s take a look at that Clinton “change” of putting a thousand cops on the street. That putting a thousand cops on the street was a joke. That program was implemented by Clinton and sounded good on the surface. Reality is, not much actually happened if you look at the record. The gov. only fund 50% of all those new cops for one year. When cities had to take over the funding them they either had to raise taxes or layoff cops, so the “thousand cops on the street” is a joke. Sounded good but didn’t do a thing. That’s the basis of the whole Obama program, a joke. Sounds good but who’s going to foot the bill.

Great retort from Senator Obama today when talking about McCain and his attack on Senator Obama’s tax cuts: “Was John McCain a socialist in 2000 when he opposed the very Bush tax cut for the very wealthy that my plan would roll back? It’s an – ahem – implausible argument. And it indicates to me that they have run out of ideas.”
Youchies. I can’t imagine any GOPer watching that performance and not wanting to throw in the towel. Brutal smarts.
It’s like a breath of fresh air in politics to hear a guy say, essentially, we’re a community and we’re going to care for each other, and they can call me what they want, but these are my policies and YOU get to decide. It was beautiful. Senator Obama puts the PASSION into compassion!

So Andy Martin is in Hawaii and has been investigating Obama’s past and looking for his birth certificate. Andy Martin is claiming that Obama’s real father is the Frank mentioned in Obama’s book. Cool, that would make Obama the son of Communist Frank Marshall Davis. Oh and that would mean he’s been misleading everyone on this very important topic.
No wonder Obama rushing down to Hawaii.

What’s going to happen when people get ready to put that vote in there going to really think(maybe),do I want to turn the keys over to the Whitehouse to a person that has experience and I can trust or to somebody that has no experience, no record and I just have to “hope” and take his word for it that he knows how to solve every problems in the world. It’s like Clinton said—
“Suppose you’re a voter, and you’ve got candidate X and candidate Y. Candidate X agrees with you on everything, but you don’t think that candidate can deliver on anything at all. Candidate Y you agree with on about half the issues, but he can deliver. Which candidate are you going to vote for?”

When asked if he would cut back his $100 billion plan to extend healthcare coverage, Obama demurred by saying, “Keep in my mind, my healthcare plan is paid for.” Well, no, it’s not. Paying for it would require abolishing the Bush tax cuts for “the wealthiest Americans.” And unless a President Obama has a filibuster-proof majority of 60 Democratic senators — which he won’t — repealing those tax cuts would be extremely difficult.
Another favorite Obama fantasy, especially popular with union members in swing industrial states like Ohio and Michigan: Renegotiate (or even negate) the NAFTA trade pact, and steel and auto jobs will return to the Rust Belt like swallows to Capistrano. No, they won’t.

McCain Hit Harder
McCain and Obama have received an equal amount of media attention since the conventions.
The project judged 57 percent of the stories about McCain as negative, with 14 percent positive. The rest were neutral.
Obama’s coverage was mixed: 36 percent positive, 29 percent negative, 35 percent neutral, the study found.
Is that balance news?

Those who refuse to see are willing to put up with with another 4 years of ineptitude like the past 8 years. It really is that simple…

DemFromCT looks at the polls, including a CBS survey in which the very same people were polled before the debates and after the debates. The net result? A shift from an Obama lead of 5 points to 13.
But the really incredible thing:
Senator Obama’s favorability is the highest for a presidential candidate running for a first term in the last 28 years of Times/CBS polls. Mrs. Palin’s negative rating is the highest for a vice-presidential candidate as measured by The Times and CBS News. Even Dan Quayle, with whom Mrs. Palin is often compared because of her age and inexperience on the national scene, was not viewed as negatively in the 1988 campaign.

I do however not see an unbiased coverage of the McCain campaign in the last week or so by MSM, not particularly ABC. I do not disagree with the conclusion of the report, only with the fact that there is an unnamed source with no corroborating evidence. Since it is merely an opinion I do not think that this is worthy of being reported.

Kevin seems to have gotten a lot of his info, judging from his references, from Bill O’Reilly.
Kevin is one of those whose life is so deprived of real information (objective — not FOX-GOP slanted) that he is unable to form opinions of his own.
Bill’s interviewing style is similar to a poker player who stacks the deck so that all of the aces and face cards automatically go to his hand. You don’t agree with Bill, he interrupts you constantly, and if you insist on presenting your point, he cuts off your microphone.
Bill Moyer had him pegged correctly: “O’Reilly is not a journalist, he is a pugilist”.
Kevin should read up on who Rupert Murdoch, Fox’s owner is. He’ll find him to be one of the most merciless scum-bags the business world has ever seen.

Obama’s the most brilliant campaign organizer in American political history. As a political tactician, Obama makes Bill Clinton look like McGovern. The Republicans have simply NEVER faced as smart a politiican, or as brilliant an opponent generally, as Obama. He has outsmarted them, and crushed them, just as he did the Clintons. If Obama succeeds, and he’s so formidable it’s hard to see how he does not, the Conservative Movement will be toast for a LONG time. And the neocons influence in American politics will simply be dead meat.

Kevin, those people who are not answering the phone are not going to provide McCain a win. What many have failed to realize is that times change. There are more people of tolerance than there are racists. People in the 21st century are inter-racial. It is predicted in the next 20 years whites will not be a majority. Most of us elders have multi-racial grandchildren.
Yes, there are racists yet Obama ran as the candidate – he was not ‘selected’ but elected by the people and no matter how many numbers are crunched by the GOP the Democrats have out-registered them and Obama has a 50 state strategy so the politics of old don’t apply. As such, That One/The Other One 08 can reach 270 without having to solely rely on Florida/Ohio or Philadelphia.
Times Change/People Change and when all is said and done this Great Nation will on Nov 4th will have its first Bi-Racial President. Making him the candidate for all American – Not just Blue States or Red States but the United States of America.

JOE THE PLUMBER FLUSHED…
Joe Wurzelbacher is Charles Keating’s grandson.
His father is Robert Wurzelbacher who went to jail as part of the Keating 5 scandal.
Coincidence? I think not.
Do a web search it’s all there.
His mother is Elizabeth Keating.
In 2000, Joe the Plumber sold a commercial property for $402,000. That commercial property was located in…Milford, OH, home of Robert M. Wurzelbacher.
Robert M. Wurzelbacher lived in Scottsdale, AZ in the 1980′s
• Property: 819 Montclair Blvd., Miami Township, 45150. Use: Commercial structures. Price: $402,000. Buyer: Perry D. and Susan F. Buffington. Seller: Joseph Wurzelbacher.
——————
The nation’s newest celeb Joe the Plumber is a fraud.
A GOP plant, “Joe” is related to Charles Keating of The Keating 5 bank scandal that rocked John McCain!
Wurzelbacher, an Ohio plumber, thrust into the national spotlight after he was mentioned 24 times during the final Presidential debate by McCain, isn’t even a licensed plumber. State licensing agencies in Ohio showed no license registered under his name. Nor is he a member of the plumber’s union he claimed to be enrolled in on his MySpace page.
His name is listed in the telephone books as “Samuel”. More amazingly,”Joe” is a Republican mole with deep ties to a scandalous past.
Wurzelbacher is the son of Robert Wurzelbacher – the son-in-law of Charles Keating – The Charles Keating of the Keating 5 scandal – for which Sen. John McCain was reprimanded by the Senate for his part in attempting to illegally influence government regulators.
Robert Wurzelbacher was V.P. of American Continental Corp., the parent company of Charles Keating’s Lincoln Savings & Loan.
That’s the bank that failed causing many to lose their life savings and US taxpayers $4.3 billion.
As a result Joe the Plumber’s dad, Robert, pleaded guilty to misappropriating $14 million, serving 40 months in federal prison.
“Congratulations Joe – you’re rich!’
‘You betcha!”

Hope, Change and Molotov Cocktails
PORTLAND, Ore. – Authorities have arrested two men after a Molotov cocktail was thrown at a 4-foot by 8-foot campaign sign for Republican presidential candidate John McCain in a southeast Portland yard.
Karen Scrutton said she was asleep inside her home at 7956 S.E. 17th Ave. in the Sellwood neighborhood when she saw her sign go up in flames after 1 a.m.
“I screamed upstairs to my husband, ‘Jean! Jean!” she said.
A neighbor heard a crash and chased off one of the suspects. Jean Scrutton said his son-in-law found another suspect not far away.
Not long after, investigators picked up Leslie Brockette Leudtke and Kevin Carl Robinson, both 23. After interviewing them, the pair was charged with four counts each of manufacturing and possession of a destructive device. In addition, Leudtke was charged with a single count of reckless burning.
Witnesses said the suspects threw a Molotov cocktail at the sign and used another as a torch.
The Scruttons worried that their home could have caught on fire.
“Our whole house could have burnt down,” Karen Scrutton said while thanking her neighbor for intervening.
If this were the other way around, there’d be 24/7 network coverage about how our democracy is endangered.

http://blogs.abcnews.com/george/2008/10/its-a-whole-dif.html?cid=135991585#comment-135991585
While the Democrat-leaning media continues to scare undecided voters with bedtime stories about some mythical angry McCain supporter whom nobody has seen, here is a real district attorney’s complaint documenting an unprovoked assault by an enraged Democrat against a McCain volunteer in midtown Manhattan: “Defendant grabbed the sign [informant] was holding, broke the wood stick that was attached to it, and then struck informant in informant’s face thereby causing informant to sustain redness, swelling, and bruising to informant’s face and further causing informant to sustain substantial pain.”

School textbook promotes Obama
http://www.worldnetdaily.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=77957
One parents take on this.
I do not expect this about political stories in English. That is Marxist/Communist propaganda tactics 101.
We might as well be living in China or Venezuela.
The mother of an 8th-grader in Wisconsin is blasting school officials over their use of a textbook lauding Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama’s “change” theme and highlighting his 2004 Democratic National Convention as an example of good literature.
The mother, whose name was withheld because of concern over retaliation, said on the RealDebateWisconsin blog her son is taking an advanced English class in the Racine, Wis., Unified School District.
“I just found out that my son’s new (copyright 2008) Wisconsin – McDougal Littell Literature book has 15 pages covering Barack Obama,” she writes. “I was shocked – No John McCain, no Hillary Clinton, no George Bush – Just Barack Obama.”

Kevin…. have you ever done something you felt was wrong and felt ashamed of it? You don`t tell anyone because you know it wasn`t right and not proud of what you did. We live in a democracy, and people are entitled to think and vote as they want. However for you own sake and the country, vote on the issues and policies each one of these two men represent, talk to others and challenge their views not to hate but maybe learn something you might have missed and frankly sometimes learn the truth. On the other hand, if you go into that booth and pull that leaver just because of fear and lies we have seen what that leads to in the last eight years….. No one is out to get you, it`s just your conscience.

Obama obviously has no actual skeletons in his closet — all McSame/Rove can find to throw at him is that he worked for a local charity for several years. Leave it to republicrats to hysterically spin through one stupid lie after another. Barry Goldwater, an ethical and honest Arizona senator, must be rolling in his grave to see the sad, retarded remnants of the movement he founded and its steady decline into hostile, racist irrelevance.
BTW, as to this comment:
“How stupid of deal are they are making on her clothes when Michele Obama will be living fat, dumb, and happly lives sitting up there in suite 23-M of the Waldorf towers with her hors d’oeuvres and her lobster and her champagne …” Rupert’s rag, from which you gleaned this tidbit, was forced to retract it. Michelle didn’t even have a room there. Try to keep up — and try not to bring up Marie Antoinette on the same day Palin’s $150,000 wardrobe allowance is disclosed.
As to the ruling in Hawaii, if you don’t know how to read a court decision, don’t try to tell others what a decision says. The court did not refuse to allow disclosure of Obama’s birth records, it refused to use the extraordinary, i.e., rare and unusual, writ of mandamus (used to command a public official who refuses to do his duty) to order the judge to expedite a hearing on whether the birth record needs to be disclosed to a non-family member. The judge considering the request originally set a hearing date of November 7, and ruled that the petitioning journalist would have to attend court personally to pursue the request. The ruling cited here simply affirms that time table and the requirement that petitioner personally be present at the hearing. That’s the way courts work. As a damn good lawyer, Obama would have known this would be the likely outcome and would not have felt any need to pretend his grandmother was ill in order to zoom out to Hawaii to do damage control. Remember: McSame is the sleazy one, not Obama.
As to whether Obama ever did anything before: he sponsored more than 1,800 bills, about half of them as an Illinois legislator (touching the lives of about 9 percent of the US population), and about half as a US senator. And BTW, except for someone like Teddy Roosevelt who sat out a term before running for a second term, NOBODY runs for president with experience of what it’s like to be president. The whole experience argument is as ridiculous coming from McSame as it was coming from Hillary Clinton. Give all these lies and twisted distortions a rest. Face it — McSame deserves to lose and he is going to lose.

Is this the america you want?
McCain would be bad on security because he is impetuous and too ideological. He is erratic in a crisis. Too old now Im afraid. And his running mate is insane she doesnt even know what the job of a VP is and she isnt uncorrupted.
These guys are desperate: they almost called Obama a terrorist, called him a socialist and next week will probably call him a UFO.

Charges against him in regards to the pentagon bombing et al were dropped due to some technicality pertaining to how evidence against him was gathered. The same, however, cannot be said about G. It is truly said that the media has failed to do its job by not reporting truths, practically crowning Obama POTUS even before the election. Well, folks, the October surprise is coming. You guys know about that little lawsuit pending in our court system requesting that Obama come clean by proving his citizenship? Well, that hasn’t gone away. As a matter of fact, the motion submitted by the DNC to have the case dismissed was denied. Motions have been submitted by the DNC to have this case delayed now. I guess the DNC and Obama are hoping that the election gets here before the truth is unveiled. Ask yourselves this, folks, (those supporting Obama) how will you feel about yourselves after voting for a fraud. The implications will be huge, and this country will face a Constitutional crisis like no other before it. You guys thought the 2000 election was bad. Heheh! Wait until this blows up in our faces. Oh, and lastly, how can Congress impeach Obama if his presidency will be illegitimate? The entire Obama administration to include the office of the Vice Presidency and its legitimacy would be in question. This is not rumor. There is an actual court case in our United States judicial system. God help us all! God help our United States of America.

I agree. I am an active Independent, meaning I vote in every election, national or local and I vote for Republicans and Democrats. On my two visits to Obama headquarters I was so impressed. They are so organized. Some like to make fun of his community organizing skills, but I’m telling you, this is what we need right now, someone who will get the public back involved, the people paying attention is how we take back our country.

Posted by: Brian | October 23, 2008, 7:30 am 7:30 am
The first thing Obama needs to do should he get elected, is appoint a voting commission to standardize voting methods and crack down on voter suppression and fraud. Who knows how many seats republicans have that are due to partisan tricks.
For Instance, Texas is 52% minority, and not a wealthy state by any means…yet Texas is the republican home base. Texas is the most gerrymandered state in the union and the republican party maintains its hold with trickery and groupthink tactics.
Appoint a commission, work Texas and own every election for the next 20 yrs.
Its not an election…Its a movement.

Lily, don’t you think that we the people are entitled to know if any one running for office is qualified for the job? Think about it next time you’re out applying for a job and the prospective employer asks for your qualifications. Why is Obama making it difficult? Why doesn’t present his birth certificate to the courts? The matter would be resolved quickly. What is this man hiding?

Mike, There are all kinds of lawsuits every day, the vast majority of them total time-wasters. There was a lawsuit against god just last week, dismissed by the court because of the plaintiff’s inability to serve a summons on the defendant. (A mirror-image case of a lawsuit against satan, dismissed on the same ground, was reported many years ago).
Just because some idiot has petitioned the court to allow access to Obama’s birth certificate, and is scheduled for a hearing five days after the election, doesn’t mean anyone need quake in their boots. This whole birth certificate distraction has already been settled. Obama is a natural citizen. This swill is just like all the other crap McSame and his cronies have been tossing out there — it’s meant to bolster the flagging spirits of the losers who support the losers on the GOP ticket. But just like all the other talking points you’ve been, sponge-like, soaking up from Rupert Murdoch, it’s a fantasy. It is you, my friend, who is destined to be disillusioned after the election.
To any123: well and truly said! Raising the tax rate on 5 percent of Americans from 36 percent to a rate of 39 percent is no more socialist than taxing the first 36 percent in the first place. If McSame can promise — and deliver on the promise — to reduce my income tax to zero, then he gets my vote and he can call Obama a socialist without hypocrisy. But since McSame’s hands are not clean on this issue — and especially since his mentor Bush just this month socialized an enormous swath of the banking system — and since McSame wants to further socialize most of the mortgages in the nation, McSame looks more foolish than usual in calling Obama a socialist Robin Hood. Remember, in the original Robin Hood story, Robin was not just a thief who targeted the rich because of their deep pockets, he targeted rich nobles and priests who had stolen from the poor and he returned the loot to those from whom it had been stolen. Seeing as how Bush and his cronies have been stealing from the middle class for 8 years, it is not socialism for us to deputize Obama to recover the ill-gotten pelf from the thieves.

stop with the stupid lies about the birth certificate….
Recently FactCheck representatives got a chance to spend some time with the birth certificate, and we can attest to the fact that it is real and three-dimensional and resides at the Obama headquarters in Chicago. We can assure readers that the certificate does bear a raised seal, and that it’s stamped on the back by Hawaii state registrar Alvin T. Onaka (who uses a signature stamp rather than signing individual birth certificates). We even brought home a few photographs.

Mike,The States rights advocacy movement was addressed by Andrew Jackson in the 1832 Nullification crisis. States rights do not trump whats sound for the nation.
By standardization of voting practice, I mean that we should make sure that in one state its not electric, one state its paper, One ballot looks like this. Scantron sheets work fine in schools across the nation. US citizens have been trained to use scantrons for decades now, I propose going to a scantron ballot as apposed to chads and electronic machines that have been shown to alter ballots.
By wealth, I am speaking of people that are poor and live below the poverty line. In statistics you learn that outliers can skew means. In Houston there are a lot of rich oil men and companies that skew the mean for statewide income…as well as the military bases. In fact, I saw more private owned businesses in Chicago than any city in Texas…and Chicago is liberal.
Last of all… I am a soldier that faught in the Iraq, I see the enlisted troops. I have in-laws from Houston to Austin I hear their pain. I have seen elections in democrat strongholds such as Chicago…and I have seen them here…LOOK AT TEXAS DISTRICT 22 AND LOOK AT HARRIS COUNTY. WHAT IS THAT?

For those that don’t understand the dynamics of what is going on, understand this, there is a new generation of voters that don’t want to see government conduct business as usual, nor do they accept the failures of 8 years as acceptable for another 4 years. Our elections are going through a generational change that will forever change government. What Republicans did to seal their fate is to believe that they can offer more of the same and people will just buy into it like they have done in the past. People are tired of scare tactics, hysteria, old thinking, and more servings of the same things. The menu has not changed for Republicans, while Democrats have changed, have seen what the expectations are, and have adjusted accordingly. McCain may say he’s not Bush, but that’s like a restuarant that changes their name, but not the menu. Same strategy…same results. People see through that.

DJ – “Waco, San Antonio, Austin, Houston, El Paso, Dallas, Ft Worth…all urban areas…THERE AINT NO WAY…A REPUBLICAN SHOULD GET OUT OF HERE ALIVE.” DJ, so what you are now inciting is violence against people who have a different political opinion? Posted by: Mike from Texas | October 23, 2008, 8:08 am 8:08 am
Right on, Jake! For someone who supposedly is not Bush, McSame certainly runs his political campaign the same sleazy way as Bush!
Mike from Tx: a motion to dismiss likely would not be granted in a case like this, but that does not by any means indicate that “the case has legs.” Most motions to dismiss take the form of “demurrer,” in which the defendant basically argues: “Judge, even if you believe every factual assertion the plaintiff is making, I still win because he’s failed to perfect a claim.”
Since the ridiculous, and already-proven-false assertion in this case apparently is that Obama is not a natural citizen, a demurrer argument would have been unlikely to prevail. No doubt it was filed anyway because lawyers should never rule on their own motions; sometimes one you don’t think can win ends up being granted. When this case is heard on the 7th, though, I’m certain it will be seen not to have legs, but to have only an *hole.

well, now we are at the too bad point.
its really surprising how many people were out sick the day they talked about socialism in school,, but with obama in office im sure youll learn quick enough.

Republicans may say that Obama has no executive experience, but that’s hardly the case. He has managed the most impressive campaign effort ever. He’s hired great people at the top and has been very clear about the way in which he wanted his campaign to be conducted. Staff and volunteers are told they are not to make personal digs about their opponents but to keep to the facts and the issues. Obama’s intelligent and ethical leadership of his campaign is a glimpse of what his leadership will be as President.

By Texas not being wealthy, I am speaking of the large population of people that are poor and live below the poverty line. In statistics you learn that outliers can skew means. In Houston there are a lot of rich oil men and companies that skew the mean for statewide income…as well as the military bases. In fact, I saw more private owned businesses in Chicago than any city in Texas…and Chicago is liberal. Wal-Mart cant get a hold in Chicago due to the strong private business sector.
I’m also an Iraq vet that lives outside of Ft Hood; I see the pain of the troops that are stretched thin. I have in-laws from Houston to Austin, and I hear their pain and economic troubles. I also have seen elections in democrat strongholds such as Chicago and I have seen them here, These people have been jerked around so long that they were apathetic about voting until now.
LOOK AT TEXAS DISTRICT 22 AND LOOK AT HARRIS COUNTY…. arent those some funny looking districts?
http://gis1.tlc.state.tx.us/static/pdf/planc01151m.pdf
Waco, San Antonio, Austin, Houston, El-Paso, Dallas, and Ft Worth are all urban areas; The southwestern corridor is strongly immigrant latino which should favor democratic candidates. There is no reason that republicans should control this state.
I think Democrats can flip Texas Blue within the next 10 yrs…and effectively close out the republican party. Simply by focusing on the poor, minorities and urban areas.

In Life we have 2 types of people
The wise and Prudent
and then we have the Stupid Fools
The Wise person is the One who learns from other peoples mistakes and people who fall in that category are – to name just a few
Ronald Reagan
Bill Clinton
Barack Obama
Now the stupid dumb fools are people who repeat their own mistakes and other people’s mistakes and hope for a different outcome. In this category we have – to name a few:
George W Bush
Dan Quayle
John McCain

DJ – “Waco, San Antonio, Austin, Houston, El Paso, Dallas, Ft Worth…all urban areas…THERE AINT NO WAY…A REPUBLICAN SHOULD GET OUT OF HERE ALIVE.” DJ, so what you are now inciting is violence against people who have a different political opinion? Is this the movement you’re referring to? Unbelievable! I thought you Obamacans were above that. Radicals at heart, eh? Damn! I only have one thing to say, “BRING IT ON, BROTHER!”

KEEP ENJOYING THE DREAM DEMOCRATES !!!
THE I.B.D. POLL, the proven most accurate poll for the past 8 Election Cycles show as of 10/22/2008 that it is DEAD EVEN, WITHIN THE MARGINS, McCAIN AHEAD IN OHIO AND FLORIDA and GAINING GROUND IN VIRGINIA AND OHIO !!! IT DOES NOT SHOW McCAIN FALLING ANYWHERE !!!
SO IF YOU THINK OBAMA INA LANDSLIDE, NOPE !!! Obama may very well win in the end, but your EARLY celebrating and consrtuction of Obama’s new greek temple for his CROWNING in Chicago is pushing MORE AND MORE of us fence sitters to GO McCAIN !!!

Folks really need to WAKE up. Fashion is not what this election is about. It’s about the publics need for Government to be accountable for its’ decisions and actions. OBAMA PLAN 605 million campaign + 155 million more, fine suits, planes, trip to Europe, Greek Columns at Nomination. No one bickers at this outrageous spending. Attack only his opponents. When Obama wins he will spend this country into a dither just as he has spent on his campaign. The new problem is everyone is voting on marketing, and clever marketing talent he has. Next to Mickey D’s and Coke, Obama belongs in those ranks. This voting on marketing will cost our country and uneven balance in the white house, none like ever before. This country will become the Democratic nation. This house has currently been controlled by the Democrats since 2006. There will be no checks and balance to counter things, because with this big sale of the Democrats on the shirt tails of a Democrat Obama President this election there will been 2/3 more Democrats in the senate and congress with a Democrat Speaker. So continue not to pay attention, this is exactly what they want a quiet entry with no fuss or negative attacks. Most of our public citizens are behaving like sheep, and now the swing of all the weight to one side without considering it’s effects.

I am an Obamabot and I aprove this message: John McCain is Toast!
Sarah Palin … ummm She’s Toasted! atleast she got more in her short campaign than John McCain got. lets check:
1. She got a husband for her daughter Bristol= check
2. she Went on a shopping spree $150,000
and counting = check
3.she met world leaders in NY something that would have been impossible = check
4.Travelled all across America for free. = check
5. Her absence in wasilla means the moose population will increase and there would be more game after she returns. Nature conservation. natural moose repopulation = check
So for Sarah Palin its a win win situation = check

I think it has to come if Obama wants to do everything that he is talking about. I mean, he has such a mega-plan out there to provide free this, free that, free everything else, universal healthcare, universal this. It all doesn’t come without a cost. Now, they’ll tell you that we can pay for all these things if we, (A), end the war in Iraq, which we all want to do, and (B), if we do away with the president’s tax cuts. Well, remember, that ’03 tax cuts, but remember, if we do away with one tax cut, on the one hand, that’s basically raising new taxes on the other hand.
So, yes, obviously, if Senator Obama becomes president, all of us have to be afraid, very much afraid that our taxes will be going up.
Posted by: Liberal press | October 23, 2008, 10:02 am 10:02 am
For example, let’s say you’re part of a married couple, filing jointly, with $60,000 in taxable income. In 2008, you would pay $8,198. If you have the same amount of taxable income after the Bush tax cuts are repealed, and tax rates return to 2000 levels, you’ll pay $11,100.
This is not a tax cut but this is what Obama want to do. Wake up people.
Posted by: Liberal press | October 23, 2008, 10:03 am 10:03 am
You get to be more patriotic in Joe Biden’s mind to the tune of $2,902, out of your pocket and into the government’s coffers. Gotta spread that wealth around, you know.
But don’t worry. Barack Obama says he won’t raise taxes on people making less than $250,000, and provide a tax cut for 95 percent of Americans. He promised

Ayers is a guy from my neighborhood.
Reverend Jeremiah Wright is not the man I once knew. (20 years and not the man I know)
Rezko? I know him, he got me a cheap property, he’s hardly the guy I knew.
I don’t know anything about ACORN except I was their lawyer and I paid $800,000 to them.
Do you see a pattern emerging here? And it’s that he always disassociates himself when he gets caught, and when it becomes politically expedient. It’s not out of principle, it’s out of political expediency.
Isn’t this the pattern now, of Barack Obama?”

I’m a registered Democrat who voted for Bush twice (I’m ashamed to admit). I’ve an Obama supporter, and I’ve never seen such an impressive grass-roots gruond campaign in my life. I had campaigned for Clinton in 1992 at his San Francisco headquarters, but nothing compares to what I’ve seen in terms of outreach, computer access, and accessibility from Obama’s campaign. I’ve been able to donate money, attend fund raisers, and last night, a campaign staffer (I live in Portland, Oregon) contacted me last night to either canvass or phone call potential voters. On each state’s Obama website, they have tons of events set up according to where you live (by zip code) through the state and you can register by phone or by email. I’ve never seen anything like it. Never.
Posted by: Laura Brown | October 23, 2008, 11:13 am 11:13 am
I would like to vote for Obama but I have fear for this country.
I fear that my grandchildren will not be able to achieve what they want in life when they are controlled and brainwashed that you can only own so much, even if you work hard and get that college degree. You’re told you can’t do this. A country that thinks you don’t need to take responsible for yourself. You don’t need to think for yourself and the wealth is in the hands of the government and controlled by the government. The freedom to achievement.
I fear living in a country that is going to project a foreign policy that any country can run rough shod over us. That all we will do is talk or look the other direction as innocent people are murdered, as a use of force is prohibited. The U.N. has shown that this policy doesn’t work. A country that others know will back there word up with action and support there friends. Not a pansy country that runs away from conflicts or problems.
I fear living in a country that continues to dis-regard the values that made this country what it is today, a leader, a respected country, a country that has the most freedoms and values life. If you don’t value life, you don’t really have much of a value of anything and you’re really not worth much as a person. A country that continues to promote a perverted life style contrary to our God given laws that our forefathers gave great sacrifice for. A country that is going to continue to spiral downward. A country that is going to destroy it’s self from the inside out.

Obama has taken in 630 million in the last couple of months and is out spending McCain about 10 to 1 to get elected. Obama is mailing out pamphlets to all the people in Wisconsin right now saying he is all for 2nd amendment rights, just opposite of his voting record. Who can trust such a liar on anything. I would like to see where all his money is coming from. It’s not coming from the low income people. Nothing like buying your way into a gov. office.

Now Obama has changed his tax plan and says if your not working your not going to get any tax money (welfare) help on mortagages. Says the 10% deduction on mortgage interest for taxpayers who don’t itemize would carry a “work requirement.” Which means, if your laid off your NOT GOING TO GET ANY HELP with you mortgage. Yeah! The real Obama. What’s the next thing he’s going to change when he gets into office?

Big deal about the cost of Palins clothes…..let’s get real, how ridiculous can you get. How stupid of a deal are they are making on her clothes when Michele Obama stay’s at the Hilton and eats lobster while everybody else is eating beans and Barrack’s suites cost thousands apiece. This is a good example of how the left news media likes to put the “spin” and negativity on the right. Is this the only thing they can come up with to put a spin on? They don’t mention a thing about Obama’s clothes. They don’t report that they will be living fat, dumb, and happy lives like Michelle Obama sitting up there in suite 23-M of the Waldorf towers with her hors d’oeuvres and her lobster and her champagne, and you’re going to be out there begging for crumbs and hoping that what you end up with is sufficient. They’ve got a lot of people that think they’ll get their health care paid for in this way and so forth. This is what they’re all about.

There goes some more of your right’s and freedoms to gov. and you all whined about Bush’s wire taps to catch terrorists. This sounds like the stuff Castro did in Cuba. But he’s a good speaker….

Until you get “FAIR” trade that McCain wants, this country is going to continue to sink to the bottom. Obama has not said a thing about “FAIR” trade. Fair trade would offset the cheap imports that are killing the jobs here. We can’t compete without “fair trade” and only McCain has a plan for “fair trade”. We buy everything imported and now have to borrow the same money back to keep our country going…how stupid is that. Obama’s socialist policy is not going to bring anything back but massive inflation. Are you people really that stupid?

I passed 900 Bills in the State Senate . . .
NOT EXACTLY: you passed 26, most of which you didn’t write.
In the Illinois State Senate Obama voted ‘present’ 128 times. ‘Present’ is basically a non-vote that is neither yes or no. In every instance it was done on a controversial piece of legislation, giving me the impression that Obama was more interested in his political future than making difficult decisions. In contrast, McCain’s first vote as a Congressman was against the Republican Party and Ronald Reagan. He was chastised but held firm.
Fast forward to the US Senate. Obama was part of the initial bipartisan group that included McCain who formulated the compromise on the Immigration bill. As the bill became a hot potato Obama distanced himself from the others and eventually became a non-player. Again, despite a litany of criticism, McCain held firm. Based on this information alone, Obama has proven to be cautious and seemingly unwilling to stick his neck out for any cause that may prove politically unpopular. Obama, who runs as the ‘agent’ of change, has had sufficient time in his legislative career to prove his credentials as a true reformer. His record simply doesn’t support it.
I also looked at their picks of runnung mates. Obama picked a man who has been a career politician with 36 years worth of opportunities to reform government. I submit that, with Congressional approval ratings nearing single digits, Joe Biden has been more part of the problem than he has been for solutions. Obama exclaims ‘more of the same’ about McCain, but what does that say about Biden, who has also been part of the status quo? McCain could have also gone the ’safe’ route, but as usual, he picked someone with a similar mind-set.

What’s this, Limbaugh, another free hate-speech ad promoting the McPalin campaign?
Question:
How many years would it take you to earn $150,000 for something as frivolous as clothes, while there are down-ticket Republicans desperate for campaign funds?
Or put it this way:
How do you like the fact that Palin is a Welfare Queen misspending campaign funds on self-aggrandizement?

I’d rather be employed throughout the year and pay a little more taxes, though McCain stated he will leave them the same as they are now, than get a tax break of how much? Obama’s plan takes jobs out of the market. Inflation will rise, because businesses will pass the tax liabilities onto the consumer, misnomer #1, the 95% will still be paying the taxes, or businesses will cut expenses, misnomer #2, layoffs, downsize, etc. For instance, a person works for $18k per year and is taxed at 25% leaving with $13500. A person without a job earns zero but will get a check at the end of the year for how much? $1k maybe? Which is the better scenario? I’d rather be employed throughout the year than be unemployed with an annual government handout. Obama is going to put a huge strain on businesses which will slow the economy. Businesses will need to downsize (the alternative to inflation which will be expense passed onto the taxpayer who is supposedly avoiding higher taxes with Obama). In downsizing, they’ll be buying less inventory which means less money will be circulating through the system. Suppliers will need to downsize, more layoffs, etc, in order to accommodate the downsize of businesses. Manufacturers will downsize, yet more layoffs, etc, in order to adjust for the decreased demand, etc. This is trickle-up poverty that could put our economic crisis into a tailspin. We want to put money into the system and not take money out. Nobody will benefit from Obama’s plan. Try a little common sense if you can. Our country depends on it.

It’s very interesting, not biased either, it shows you how you stack up or don’t stack up to the rest of the country on most issues. I don’t know who created the web site but it really is interesting to take. I think it should be called the voter qualifying test.

It’s amazing all the Republican whining that’s going on — and it’s not even November yet!
But yer right: the $150,000 in scarce Republican campaign funds wasted by Palin on clothes she says she’s only going to donate to charity after the election (I’ll bet that’s a lie) in less than two weeks is nothing like the $400 spent on a haircut by John Edwards which we heard about for weeks from McPalin supporters.
One can always recognize a Republican without having to ask: They are about as rational as a two-year-old; which is to say, they make no sense, and it’s all about themselves.
Whine, whine whine!

Actually Obama is going to try and get rid of the Bush tax cut. So here it is from Obama not raising taxes????
let’s say you’re part of a married couple, filing jointly, with $60,000 in taxable income. In 2008, you would pay $8,198. If you have the same amount of taxable income after the Bush tax cuts are repealed, and tax rates return to 2000 levels, you’ll pay $11,100.
He promised

And stop lying about his wife. The Waldorf story was officially retracted by the Rupert rag that originally printed it when it was demonstrated to the paper that Michelle did not stay in a room at the Waldorf, did not order room service, did not have lobster or champagne or anything else.
And before you read a character flaw into those “present” votes try to learn a bit about civics. Voting “present” has procedural advantages for a legislator who wants to bring a bill back up that looks to be headed for defeat. In Congress, many votes have been changed from no to yes or vice versa by lawmakers on both sides of the aisle for the same purpose.
And your scurrilous lie about Obama claiming that he will “push through” (as though one man can do such a thing) “the bill” that restricts speech is simply beyond the pale. Where do you spiteful serial-liars come up with this crap? Does it come to you in revelations-fueled nightmares, or do you simply sit around inventing this nonsense out of sheer evil?
If McCain was a “true reformer” and planned to run the white house differently than W has, then why doesn’t he or his supporters run this campaign any differently than W ran his?
By all means, continue to scream that the sky is falling when it’s suggested that this bankrupt nation (thanks, W) might recoup some much-needed cash by nudging up income tax for the wealthiest 5 percent by the 3 percent that W had cut it (36 percent and 39 percent are the numbers — this is the same cut that McSame called an irresponsible give-away to the rich at the time W “pushed them through”).
Revel in your paranoid delusions all you want, but the rest of us believe that the true danger to the future of this country is not Obama but hateful morons like you. Your vapid arguments ignore history, deny reality and are drenched in hypocrisy.

Also, stop misrepresenting Obama’s tax policy. The Bush tax cuts would be repealed only for those making more than a quarter-million dollars. When Clinton got taxes raised, the same Chicken Little arguments were made, but lo and behold, the sky did not fall, the fabric of society did not rend, millions were able to get off the welfare rolls and we even managed to get a grip on the deficit. Scary stuff, I know, but I think you’ll survive. And job creation, in other circumstances might take the hit you suggest, but when the GOP just finished printing more than a trillion dollars out of thin air, markets are not likely to rebound until it is seen that there is some actual value being put back into the treasury to back up the dollar.
The irony here is that if the GOP had exercised the good sense needed to nominate Ron Paul, the party would be very well poised to win this election. But no, the truth is too nutty a prospect for republicans.

~Bill Clinton
Your going to see McCain win and the far left will be scratching there heads trying to figure out why they didn’t win. Duh!

I was hoping the polls would stay close … as I am afraid some will think just because Obama is so far ahead in the polls they wouldn’t NEED to vote.

Obama’s a thinker alright…say’s New govnment back Technology is going bring us out of this energy crisis. Yeah right! How gov. going to come up with such “new idea’s”. Where are they going to find a company still here to fabricate these “new idea’s” when their all gone. That is future “Pie in the sky” technology. IT’s taken over 10 years just to develop a battery for an electric to go 60 mi. Not going to happen along with the rest of his lie’s. The electric car is a money loser. $40,000 who can afford one? It fell flat in 90′s. Let’s cut the bull crap, as one person said. Vote for Obama is a vote for socialism, simple as that. Forget the nitpicking. It doesn’t do a thing.

Obama and his democratic policies in Ill. hard at work. Don’t blame the republicans on this because there are none in Ill.
Post Office Requests Police Escort After Violence Stops Service For Two Weeks
Reporting
Dana Kozlov HARVEY, Ill. (CBS) ― Dozens of mailboxes remain empty after the post office suspends service in one south suburban neighborhood. Some people get angry when their mail is late. But in Harvey, people have been waiting for days and days. They’re not getting any mail at all. CBS 2′s Dana Kozlov reports that one mail carrier in Harvey feels threatened.
The U.S. Post Office seems to think that this is one of the most dangerous blocks in the country. People who live on it say they haven’t gotten any mail delivered to their homes in almost two weeks.

Here’s a good email I received that’s makes one of the best points around.
By Huntley Brown
Dear Friends, A few months ago I was asked for my perspective on Obama, I sent out an email with a few points. With the election just around the corner I decided to complete my perspective. Those of you on my e-list have seen some of this before but it’s worth repeating…
First I must say whoever wins the election will have my prayer support. Obama needs to be commended for his accomplishments but I need to explain why I will not be voting for him.
Many of my friends process their identity through their blackness. I process my identity through Christ. Being a Christian (a Christ follower) means He leads I follow. I can’t dictate the terms He does because He is the leader.
I can’t vote black because I am black; I have to vote Christian because that’s who I am. Christian first, black second. Neither should anyone from the other ethnic groups vote because of ethnicity. 200 years from now I won’t be asked if I was black or white. I will be asked if I knew Jesus and accepted Him as Lord and Savior.
In an election there are many issues to consider but when a society gets abortion, same-sex marriage, embryonic stem-cell research, human cloning to name a few, wrong economic concerns will soon not matter.
We need to follow Martin Luther King’s words, don’t judge someone by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. I don’t know Obama so all I can go off is his voting record. His voting record earned him the title of the most liberal senator in the US Senate in 2007.
NATIONAL JOURNAL: Obama: Most Liberal Senator in 2007 (01/31/2008)
To beat Ted Kennedy and Hillary Clinton as the most liberal senator, Clinton as the most liberal senator, takes some doing. Obama accomplished this feat in 2 short years. I wonder what would happen to America if he had four years to work with.
There is a reason Planned Parenthood gives him a 100% rating. There is a reason the homosexual community supports him. There is a reason Ahmadinejad, Chavez, Castro, Hamas etc. love him. There is a reason he said he would nominate liberal judges to the Supreme Court. There is a reason he voted against the infanticide bill. There is a reason he voted No on the constitutional ban of same-sex marriage. There is a reason he voted No on banning partial birth abortion. There is a reason he voted No on confirming Justices Roberts and Alito. These two judges are conservatives and they have since overturned partial birth abortion. The same practice Obama wanted to continue.
The 5 Step Partial Birth Abortion procedures:
A. Guided by ultrasound, the abortionist grabs the baby’s leg with forceps. (Remember this is a live baby)
B. The baby’s leg is pulled out into the birth canal.
C. The abortionist delivers the baby’s entire body, except for the head.
D. The abortionist jams scissors into the baby’s skull. The scissors are then opened to enlarge the hole.
E. The scissors are removed and a suction catheter is inserted. The child’s brains are sucked out, causing the skull to collapse. The dead baby is then removed.
God help him. There is a reason Obama opposed the parental notification law.
Think about this: You can’t give a kid an aspirin without parental notification but that same kid can have an abortion without parental notification. This is insane.
There is a reason he went to Jeremiah Wright’s church for 20 years.
Obama tells us he has good judgment but he sat under Jeremiah Wright teaching for 20 years. Now he is condemning Wright’s sermons. I wonder why now?
Obama said Jeremiah Wright led him to the Lord and discipled him. A disciple is one in training. Jesus told us in Matthew 28:19 – 20 “Go and make disciples of all nations.”
This means reproduce yourself. Teach people to think like you, walk like you; talk like you believe what you believe etc. The question I have is what did Jeremiah Wright teach him?
Would you support a White President who went to a church which has tenets that said they have a …
1. Commitment to the White Community
2. Commitment to the White Family
3. Adherence to the White Work Ethic
4. Pledge to make the fruits of all developing and acquired skills available to the White Community.
5. Pledge to Allocate Regularly, a Portion of Personal Resources for Strengthening and Supporting White Institutions
6. Pledge allegiance to all White leadership who espouse and embrace the White Value System
7. Personal commitment to embracement of the White Value System.
Would you support a President who went to a church like that?
Just change the word from white to black and you have the tenets of Obama’s former church. If President Bush was a member of a church like this, he would be called a
racist. Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton would have been marching outside.
This kind of church is a racist church. Obama did not wake up after 20 years and just discovered he went to a racist church. The church can’t be about race. Jesus did not come for any particular race. He came for the whole world.
A church can’t have a value system based on race. The churches value system has to be based on biblical mandate. It does not matter if it is a white church or a black church it’s still wrong. Anyone from either race that attends a church like this would never get my vote.
Obama’s former Pastor Jeremiah Wright is a disciple of liberal theologian James Cone, author of the 1970 book A Black Theology of Liberation. Cone once wrote: “Black
theology refuses to accept a God who is not identified totally with the goals of the black community. If God is not for us and against white people, then he is a murderer, and we had better kill him.
Cone is the man Obama’s mentor looks up to. Does Obama believe this?
So what does all this mean for the nation?
In the past when the Lord brought someone with the beliefs of Obama to lead a nation it meant one thing – judgment.
Read 1 Samuel 8 when Israel asked for a king. First God says in 1 Samuel 1:9 “Now listen to them; but warn them solemnly and let them know what the king who will reign over them will do.”
Then God says
1 Samuel 1:18 ” When that day comes, you will cry out for relief from the king you have chosen, and the LORD will not answer you in that day.” 19 But the people refused to listen to Samuel. “No!” they said. “We want a king over us. 20 Then we will be like all the other nations, with a king to lead us and to go out before us and fight our battles.” 21 When Samuel heard all that the people said, he repeated it before the LORD. 22 The LORD answered, “Listen to them and give them a king.”
Here is what we know for sure.
God is not schizophrenic
He would not tell one person to vote for Obama and one to vote for McCain. As the scripture says, a city divided against itself cannot stand, so obviously many people are not hearing from God.
Maybe I am the one not hearing but I know God does not change and Obama contradicts many things I read in scripture so I doubt it.
For all my friends who are voting for Obama can you really look God in the face and say; Father based on your word, I am voting for Obama even though I know he will continue the genocidal practice of partial birth abortion. He might have to nominate three or four Supreme Court justices, and I am sure he will be nominating liberal judges who will be making laws that are against you. I also know he will continue to push for homosexual rights, even though you destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah for this. I know I can look the other way because of the economy.
I could not see Jesus agreeing with many of Obama’s positions. Finally I have two questions for all my liberal friends.
Since we know someone’s value system has to be placed on the nation,
1. Whose value system should be placed on the nation.
2. Who should determine that this is the right value system for the nation?
Blessings, Huntley Brown

AND THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT THEY HOPE PEOPLE WILL BELIEVE SO THEY CAN SAY OBAMA DIDN’T REALLY WIN
..get your facts straight … Registration fraud is NOT VOTER fraud!!!!
(Acorn was ripped off by their own workers who filled out bogus forms to make a few bucks instead of actually doing their job) Those bogus registrations will not count as a vote for Obama.

Check your facts again on Obama’s birth. His mother did not reside long enough to be a citizen under the rules of the constitution. This is being challenged in the supreme court but the news isn’t going to bring this up and it isn’t going to get to court until after the elections are over.

Huntley, buddy! If all you are doing is spreading the same made up crap and innuendo, you should be able to accomplish it in something less than an essay. Grab your reader’s attention with an interesting opening, succinctly state your point in less than 5 sentences (if you want it read); add some comments that induce fear and insecurity (if people don’t agree with you) and voila! you are there!

You Morons For McCain spin from one lie, smear or paranoid rant directly into another then another. Obama supporters effortlessly show you to be lying about one and without disputing that you just got called out for lying, you simply pivot to the next lie-of-the-day. After about twenty lies have cycled through in this fashion, you come around again full-circle to the first lie — apparently hoping everyone would have forgotten that you already got called on that lie! Trying to argue with [e]Mp[ty] or LiPress is like trying to talk sense to a rattlesnake.
And BTW, Huntley, all that nonsense you spewed about the supposedly hypothetical white church — that perfectly describes the religion of St. John the has-been POW, of which you apparently are a charter member.

McCain supporters have done some bad stuff too. 30 Obama supporters got their car tires slashed while they were at a rally. Another had a rock dropped through his back window, smashing it into pieces, graffiti sprayed on it, and his Obama bumper sticker ripped off.
It’s not limited to one side of the campaign, and not reflective of the candidates themselves.
McCain is too old. I feel tired everytime I look at him. Palin is just not ready to take over should anything happen to McCain.

Just a comment on a few of the things I saw here:
to the woman with the rant about abortion: In the U.S., NO ONE’s religious values should be forced on anyone, especially through the government, that’s why pro-choice is the only legally appropriate policy –
to the college students who say they will vote for McCain but won’t tell anyone or use McCain bumper sticker for fear of Obama thugs — I am from a white working class neighborhood. Up until last week, on my block there were at least 7 McCain signs and no Obama signs. A few of the McCain supporters told my husband flat out that they weren’t going to vote for any “N” for president, and if it is alright for blacks to vote on basis of race, it is alright for them to do the same thing with McCain. (This may have been an issue in the primaries but is a moot point now — Blacks have always voted Democrat, whether candidate is white, black or pink polka dot.) Those are the kind of beer-drinking foul-mouthed McCain supporters I live with. Funny, none of them make over $100,000 a year, some have kids over in Iraq, and some bitch about lousy health care, limited job ops, etc., yet they will not vote for the Democrat candidate who will reverse Bush’s policies and help them — I guess they really are racist. They are more pissed off about the welfare mom who gets $10,000 a year or so from government than at the republican CEO who just went and spent several million of the considerable company profits (esp. from 2003 – 2006)that we the workers helped produce, and left us workers high and dry with either pay cuts or job loss when they hired immigrants or sent company overseas.
I marched down to the Democrat office and got two Obama/Biden signs for my lawn and window and made my views public. I wonder, though, how many people in my neighborhood will actually vote for Obama but keep quiet about it for now because of the anti-Obama anti-”N” very vocal faction. I’ll bet Obama has supporters on my block that I don’t know about — that’s fine, as long as they get out and vote for him on Nov. 4.
Finally, for the person who said Obama is going to let Bush’s tax breaks expire — he has made it clear that he is going to let SOME of the Bush tax breaks expire — specifically, those for income earners of 250,000 or more.

Obama’s Tax Plan is to spread your hard earned money around to the people of his chosen such as voting fraud organization ACORN and his wife’s hospital that doubled her salary in return. McCain’s tax plan spreads the opportunities around. Socialist has been proven to be not working in Russia, China, and Cuba. Socialist makes people equally poor by taking away of rewarding hard working and innovations. Helping poor by encouraging business to create jobs, not free handouts that create dependencies. National health care will have people see doctors with minor discomfort and overwhelm the health care system. Really sick people has to wait for a long time for critical care and may be fatal in waiting, all at the cost of 50% tax rate. Wake up Americans! Elect McCain/Palin who will stop Obama and Dems to force banks to lend Trillions of your money to the people who can not afford it and caused the current economic slow down. McCain/Palin will promote jobs and energy independence.

He also spread your money to ACORN that is involved in voter fraud and housing crisis. “Obama and the Tax Tipping Point How long before taxpayers are pushed too far? A core group of Obama enthusiasts — those educated professionals who applaud the “fairness” of their candidate’s tax plans — will soon see their $100,000-$150,000 incomes targeted. As entitlements expand and a self-interested majority votes, the higher tax brackets will kick in at lower levels down the ladder, all the way to households with a $75,000 income. Calculating how far society’s top earners can be pushed before they stop (or cut back on) producing is difficult. But the incentives are easy to see. Voters who benefit from government programs will push for higher tax rates on higher earners — at least until those who power the economy and create jobs and wealth stop working, stop investing, or move out of the country. The sequence is always the same. High-tax, big-spending policies force the economy to lose momentum. Then growth in government spending outstrips revenues. Fiscal and trade deficits soar. Public debt, excessive taxation and unemployment follow. The central bank tries to solve the problem by printing money. International competitiveness is lost and the currency depreciates. The system stagnates. And then a frightened electorate returns conservatives to power. The economic tides will not stand still while Washington experiments with European-type social democracy, even though the dollar’s role as the global reserve currency will buy some time. Our trademark competitive advantage will be lost, and once lost, it will be hard to regain. There are too many emerging economies focused on prosperity and not redistribution for the U.S. to easily recapture its role of global economic leader. Tomorrow’s children may come to question why their parents sold their birthright for a mess of “fairness” — whatever that will signify when jobs are scarce and American opportunity is no longer the envy of the world.” Written by Mr. Lerrick on Wall Street Journal. It is so hard to read all the comments of people who have been so decieved by Obama. It is ridiculous to assume he is going to be the savior to our country. Our economy got where it is because of greedy fraudulent people, not President Bush. The President of the United States does not have the power to control the economy. 9/11 didn’t happen because of President Bush. President Clinton ushered in that tragedy. A president can not fix all the problems of a country. Especially not a president that would have a completly different agenda, Barack Obama. Heaven help us if he is elected.

Businesses are already bailing out on us, why shouldn’t they be required to pay for it in some way? If they leave the U.S., good riddance. I am not the kind of person who will accept working for peanuts just so I have a job, and believe me under the Republicans, we will all be working minimum wage — I’ll take my chances on Obama bringing this country back to a land of hope and opportunity. I’d rather start my own business than work for minimum wage for some pig.
BTW – I work as an equity research analyst associate at a good mid-size brokerage (so we are still doing well despite the big firms collapsing), I have my Series 7 and bachelors’ — I know what runs business and finance and believe me, the people who have money now have no intention of ever giving raises to lower or middle class people or giving money to national necessities such as education — no opportunity to move up under Bush/McCain regimes.
You guys will try to blame Obama for initial problems, remember, Bush & Co. regime led to these problems. I almost wish Obama would call McCain up and say, “you know what? You can have it — you guys made this mess, now you clean it up.”

PS — to be fair, I think it is fine if you support McCain if you have looked at the issues and can lay out reasons as some of you have done here — the main thrust of my first comment was, just like there are hidden McCain voters afraid of the Obama thugs, there are voters in neighborhoods like mine who are probably afraid to talk about Obama, and they have stated NO good reason to vote for McCain, they just don’t want the *N* in the office.
And, it’s good that you can defend McCain — but Palin is another story, I WILL leave this country if she becomes president.

Instead McCain is running loose like a “chicken with his head cut off”! If McCain, with all his years of experience can’t run a coherent campaign, how can he expect us to bleieve he can run the nation?
The public funding is a joke, Obama out-smarted McCain. McCain tried to trap Obama into public funding knowing full well the GOP had huge coffers to out spend Obama. If anyone is interested, Obama agreed to consider the idea; he did not agree to take public funding. By the way, it’s in writing!

I am voting what I believe and NOTHING can shake that. No matter which way this election goes, I am proud of my decision and know that my volunteer time and vote weren’t a loss. I am voting my conscience and nothing can change that.
McCain/Palin!!

Polls also don’t account for people who just hang up on them, which is probably most people. Your average Joe Voter may not feel like TELLING anyone who is he voting for!! Your average Joe Voter is sick and tired of this election!!
Plus, these polls hire some real dimwits to ask the questions. They’re like telemarketers. Truly annoying.
Also, how many 18-year-olds do you know who have been polled? Probably not very many. But 18-year-olds have a very important reason to vote: they are the ones who might be drafted to fight our wars if McCain is elected. They are the ones who would be affected most by a ban on abortion.
Think about it. Young people are going to come out in DROVES to vote. Obama is an older guy to them. McCain is an ANCIENT, last-century war-monger.

The reason the ground game works for Obama is because he has COLLEGE KIDS on the ground running around knocking on doors and being enthusiastic and energetic.
McCain has a bunch of senior citizens who have no energy to do anything but complain. McCain also has legions of fat people who sit in front of their TV’s eating cheetos and having sexual fantasies about Sarah Palin. He just doesn’t have what it takes, even if he WANTED to!

The policy prescriptions in John McCain’s acceptance speech were nothing but retreads of the failed policies of the Bush-Cheney years:
He promised tax cuts for the rich and the corporations.
He promised “free trade” deals that hemorrhage American jobs.
He promised vouchers for people to pull their kids out of public schools.
He trashed the teachers’ unions.
He promised more deregulation of big business.
He promised more privatization of government services.
He promised judges who will curtail consumer protection, worker safety, and women’s reproductive rights.
He promised to continue the saber rattling and threats against Iran, Russia and any other country that defies U.S. hegemony.
He promised more militarization of our foreign policy.
He called for peace through war.

Any voter who has attempted to communicate with the campaigns could tell you this. You call McCain headquarters – it’s like trying to get through to Comcast. You’ll never get a human being. You try a western state- like mine – and you find out that there are TWO numbers west of the great divide and both are staffed by snotty prep school boys who are clearly on vacation from the Ivy League. You tell them you are an Independent. They hang up on you. You call Obama in Wisconsin -and ask – out of curiosity – if there is a number in La Crosse, where you have family. There is. You get a young man who is calm, courteous (even though you are Indepdendent) and answers your questions. In La Crosse. Who are you going to vote for?
Obama’s ground game isn’t scary. It’s democracy and if he can run an administration like he runs a campaign – there is some hope for this country.
One defense for the McCain campaign – whoever they have in MN is great – reasonable, polite, and sane.

I’m glad that Obama did not take taxpayer money for his campaign. He was a MAN about it and raised his own money from people who believe in him. That’s how it should be. Why do the taxpayers have to pay for John McCains or anyone elses campaigns anyway ? How much has it cost the U.S. to put on McCains campaign ? Probably a couple of hundred million. That’s B.S ! First McCain cried about Obama not wanting to do town hall meetings with him, as if he could demand what Obama do. McCain is mad,how dare Obama not bow to him..? Now he’s whining about Obama raising his own money ,so what ? If John McCain inspired people like Obama does he’d have raised money too, nothing is stopping small donors from contributing to him. McCain is a whiny little B**ch when he doesn’t get his way.His ruinous policies and having picked the worst VP running mate in history are two reasons why McCain will lose. Another is that after seeing the debates a lot of people decided that they just did not like him. McCain comes across as a real jerk, that’s his true nature and it showed in the debates. Just like Nixon and Cheney,no one likes a D*ck.

My Friends, I’m truly sorry for what I have become. The maverick I was when I ran in 2000 would denounce my campaign tactics in 2008.
You have to understand that my unraveling and incoherent campaign is largely not my fault, but the fault of Republican operatives formerly of the Bush camp.
They made me pick Palin when I wanted to pick Joe (Lieberman) or Tom (Ridge). They told me to embrace the negative smears on my opponent that I once aggressively denounced when they were instigated against me.
I apologize for what I let them do. It wasn’t completely me. They told me what to do and I went with it.
I do have to say the McCain of 2000 would cast a vote for Barack Obama, not the sorry Bush clone of McCain 2008. Thank you my friends.

call it crazy, but Erica Jong Predicted it recently. Hint: rigged voting machines. (http://www.observer.com/2008/politics/erica-jong-tells-italians-obama-loss-will-spark-second-american-civil-war-blood-will-r)DISCLAIMER: just search for Erica Jong w/ Barack obama if the copy paste link doesn’t work…
and she predicted it right, as with what you said… here was the link to the news of voter fraud, thanks to you:
http://www.examiner.com/x-775-Political-Issues-Examiner~y2008m10d26-Obama-McCain-election-GOP-voter-suppression-vote-fraud
Looks like the rep”ugly”cans are very desperate, indeed… they’re no different from us here in the Philippines, where every election day, there’s reported voter suppression everywhere.
Still, If I were an American, I wouldn’t be voting for someone who’s a real friggin’ liar and who calls the other one stupid names when in fact he really is. Note: only ‘diehard’ idiots will believe in those lies.
