Joe the Plumber Finally Endorses

ABC David Wirght, Alyssa Litoff and Bret Hovell Report: No surprise, really, but Joe the Plumber has finally endorsed McCain.

At a rally in Mentor, OH, plumber Joe Wurzelbacher told McCain supporters: "People keep asking who I’m going to vote for and I keep saying it’s going to be between me and the button.

"But as far as my vote goes," he said, "It’s going to be for a real American. It’s going to be for a real American, John McCain."

Earlier in the day, Joe the Plumber spoke briefly at a rally in Sandusky but decidedly did not endorse McCain, suggesting that voters not listen to anyone else’s opinion but rather decide for themselves.

Joe the Plumber has become sort of a folk hero among McCainiacs since their candidate raised his name dozens of times in the final presidential debate. Wurzelbacher had challenged Barack Obama on his tax policies at an impromptu campaign stop near Toledo.

Tonight the crowd chanted "Joe the Plumber, Joe the Plumber, Joe the Plumber" as the bald unliscenced plumber took the stage.

McCain’s praise of Wurzelbacher grows loftier by the day. Tonight the former Vietnam War hero, who survived 5 years in a POW camp, described him as "My role model, an American hero, Joe the Plumber."

Joe the “I can’t believe he isn’t” Plumber is John McCain’s role model? He is an American hero? I wonder what his buddies from the POW camp think about that. Or his fellow Republican Senators. Or his father.

Posted by: Seriously? | October 30, 2008, 6:55 pm 6:55 pm

slam ducn, just for fun, I thought you should learn something here: Khalidi is not a terrorist, nor is he a spokesperson for the PLO. Second, if you or anyone else knew anything about journalism ethics, you would know that once you make a deal with a source you have to keep your end of it or you will never get another source. End of story. In case you need another example, Bob Woodward kept Deep Throat secret for years. And that was actual news.
This is not media bias.
You’re welcome.

It seems you’ve already seen the tape. So why do you want it released by the LA Times?

Posted by: Rev. Ike | October 30, 2008, 7:04 pm 7:04 pm

We should all admire “Joe the Plumber.” He’s a role model if ever there was one: he owes the US government back taxes, he has a lien against him for unpaid bills, he is not a licensed plumber. He is worth admiring…he’s a republican.

i just love how the writers had to throw the “unliscensed” part in there.. lol i hate the media.

Posted by: tim | October 30, 2008, 7:10 pm 7:10 pm

Obama stills owes the GOVERNMENT for unpaid parking tickets while attending his college learning how to slip under the radar as a TERRORIST. Obama probably owes a lot more than that too.

McCain…I’m sure all the dead soldiers from the Iraq War will appreciate that Joe is your role model and the real hero in this campaign! I truly believe this man has gone off the deep end.

You can choose who you want to listen to and who you want to vote for. But Im voting for Andy Griffiths’ candidate. Its hard to find a more revered and loved American than Andy Griffith. When I think of a true American I think of him. Andy Griffith stands for truth and wisdom, and has been considered a faithful veteran, and someone who would never support communism. Andy grew up when the world was under attack by nationalism, and then he was a part of our national fight against communism. Often during his show, The Andy Griffith Show he would teach us lessons on right and wrong, and what the true American way is. His son in the show, famed director Ron Howard is also considered an American icon, and someone you can trust to do the right thing for America. Ron and Andy have put their support behind Barack Obama for President, because they believe he represents the BEST for America. They would NEVER support someone who didnt love this country as much as they do, nor would they support someone who was a threat to us all. Lets all be like Andy Griffith and vote for Barack Obama! Lets make America the America that Andy Griffith believes in! Obama/Biden, as American as apple pie!

Rev Ike……we are the terrorists. We invaded Iraq without any probable cause. This republican votes for OBAMA. If you watch Cindy and McCain on every single campaign rally, Cindy was never far away from the old maverick. Why is that Rev. Ike? I’ll tell you. So the old maverick won’t get lost after the rally.
Yes, ana….McCain’s example of a hero is pathetic, isn’t it. No conviction on anything at all. Every thing is in a mushy or mushiness mode. Typical McCain lately.

Mr. Obama is a very calculating man. He used 4 millions last night for an informercial, pitching himself as a product, masking that product as “made in America”. Like all Exercise machine informercials, they are out to get your money and your votes. If you listen to Obama last night, it seems he’s very concerned for all Americans, but when you analyze his pitch carefully and more detail with cross references, then you find out that he’s a hideous politician pitching only to those voters in battleground states. Mr. Obama, no matter what he is or does from now on, is known as a serial liar.

I refuse to think that Americans are that gullible to believe that Joe (a.k.a) the plumber was going to endorse Obama. Republicans are the most racist, self righteous, hypocritical and vile bunch of people. McCain and Pailin has the audacity to say Obama is running the dirtiest campaign. Is she really serious, and I guess McCain is only running a very positive campaign. Even several Republicans has spoken out about how negative his campaign is, including Karl Rove. The architect of Bush’s campaign.

The reason why the LA Times cannot release the video is because it was given to them under the condition that it not be given out. They (journalists) have an obligation to respect the wishes of their sources. As Sam Donaldson explained on a video on ABCnews.com – reporters depend on their sources.

A number of Republican senators have expressed frank fear that McCain is simply too impulsive to be Commander in Chief. They have seen him screaming obscenities at the top of his lungs at people, including Republicans, in the halls of Congress. Charles E. Grassley, John Cornyn, Rick Renzi, Richard Shelby, Thad Cochran, Pete Domenici, Tom Freestone, Evan Meacham, Robert Wexler, Barbara Barrett, Sandra Dowling, John Hinz, are all Republicans who have been abused by McCain, and a number of them have expressed deep concern about how McCain would comport himself in a crisis were he President. One went so far as to say that the prospect ‘sent a chill down my spine.’ The recent debacle in Georgia (the nation, not the state,) gives us an unnerving example of how impulsiveness of a president can cause disaster.
Choosing Palin was another example of political opportunism and shooting from the hip. If you vote for McCain, be prepared for four years of more impulsive, poorly considered decisions. In the final analysis, McCain is a typical Republican and Obama is a typical Democrat. McCain is elderly, and has had several bouts of cancer. A vote for McCain gives us a reasonable likelihood to be a vote for President Palin-and she is definitely not of Presidential caliber. She is also very far to the right of typical moderate Republican views-she is a member of the “black helicopter” fearing, the UN is out to get us, end the separation of church and state, all Christians who aren’t fundamentalist protestants aren’t real Christians, witches and demons are among us crowd.
And then there’s the economy:
Apparently, McCain wants to eliminate the progressive income tax, despite the fact that some people are failing to make ends meet working two jobs, while others can afford private jets and 200 foot yachts. After all, some poor guy working for $7.50 an hour can just as easily afford a 20% tax as somebody who buys and sells baseball teams, right? Thanks, John – We’re drowning and you want to throw us an anchor. I’d say that this, and not remembering just how many houses you own, makes it pretty clear where you stand economically-for and with the selfish, greedy Republican Wall Street fat cats who are fleecing us for a TRILLION DOLLARS!
Now Mr. McCain wants to institute a spending lid for the government at the onset of a deep economic depression? Flip-flop, flip-flop, flip-flop, there you go again, Mr. McCain. What happened to your $300,000,000 bailout for underwater mortgages? Oh, I see, that’s so last week. Well, Mr. McCain, that’s exactly what President Hoover did when the Great Depression started. Didn’t work out so well, huh?
Every idea McCain has is simply more of George Bush’s policies. Have Bush’s policies worked well for America, and for you?

CNN’s Campbell Brown sounded off on Sen. Barack Obama’s unprecedented amount of campaign money.
—You may have heard that Wednesday night Barack Obama will be on five different TV networks speaking directly to the American people.
He bought 30 minutes of airtime from the different networks, a very expensive purchase. But hey, he can afford it. Barack Obama is loaded, way more loaded than John McCain, way more loaded than any presidential candidate has ever been at this stage of the campaign.
Just to throw a number out: He has raised well over $600 million since the start of his campaign, close to what George Bush and John Kerry raised combined in 2004.
Without question, Obama has set the bar at new height with a truly staggering sum of cash. And that is why as we approach this November, it is worth reminding ourselves what Barack Obama said last November.
One year ago, he made a PROMISE. He pledged to accept public financing and to work with the Republican nominee to ensure that they both operated within those LIMITS.—
We can all rest assured, however, that if a Republican candidate had explicitly promised to take public financing only to change his mind once he had gotten the nomination, then went on to raise more than $600 million dollars, roughly two thirds of which has been raised through fraud-enabling practices (credit card fraud), and outspent his opponent by three-to-one on TV, that’d be cool, too. Right? What, no?
In Palm Beach, Florida, today Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., attacked Sen. Barack Obama’s pending 30-minute prime-time address as a “gauzy, feel-good commercial,” that was “paid for with broken promises.”

Update America:
We like those Obama supporters quotes from the bible. They think Jesus says to spread the wealth.
Apart from salvation, there is perhaps a way that the concept “God helps those who help themselves” is correct. As an example, if you asked me to help you move a piece of furniture, but then just watched me as I moved the furniture for you, I was not actually helping you. I would be doing the work for you. Many Christians fall into the trap of inactivity. Many Christians ask God for help, but then expect God to do everything Himself. They excuse this by pointing to the fact that God will provide according to His will and in His timing. However, this is not a reason for inactivity. As a specific example, if you are in need of a job, ask the Lord to help you find a job – but then be active in actually looking for a job. While it is in His power to do so, it is highly unlikely that God will cause employers to come looking for you!
Christians fall into the trap of inactivity. Sounds like Obama supporters waiting to share the wealth.

Update America:
A great display of ethics by Obama! More deception with smoke and mirrors ABC News Did Not Report This:
Obama’s Hawaii Trips Cost More Than Palin’s Clothes
By: Ronald Kess
Barack Obama’s trips to Hawaii on a chartered Boeing 757 each cost more than twice the price of Sarah Palin’s new clothes.
Brad Blakeman, who was in charge of scheduling for President Bush, says a Boeing 757 costs about $20,000 an hour for fuel, crew, and maintenance. Since a trip to Hawaii entails 10 hours of flying time from Chicago, the total cost for each round-trip comes to about $400,000.
Obama used the Boeing 757 for trips to Hawaii over the summer for a vacation and again last week to see his failing grandmother. Admirable though that visit was, “By Obama using a private jet to go on a purely personal visit to see his grandma, he’s wasting not only energy, but he’s using the money that his supporters have given him for campaign purposes,” Blakeman says. “It’s a purely personal visit paid for with campaign funds.”
On the other hand, the media are highlighting the Republican National Committee’s purchase of $150,000 in clothes for Palin, even though the dresses will be donated to charities. The New York Times played the story on page one.
“They’re picking on Palin, who was provided a wardrobe by the RNC strictly for political purposes, and it was always intended that these garments would be then given to charity,” Blakeman says. “So there’s a benefit that’s going to charity, not a benefit that Palin will have after the election. There was a need for it because she’s a modest person who didn’t have an extensive wardrobe to do 24/7 campaigning.”
To pick on Palin without going after Obama’s plane trips is “an absolute journalistic abuse,” Blakeman says. “This is the same plane that he took to Hawaii when he went on vacation. In the summertime, when gas was soaring and Americans were having to pinch their pennies, this guy gets on his campaign plane and goes to Hawaii on vacation. He did a couple campaign stops in a state that is not a swing state and is a guaranteed win for Obama. That was clearly to cover the tracks of this vacation.”
Blakeman notes that at the height of the gasoline price surge, Obama suggested that Americans check their vehicle’s tire pressure as a way of conserving fuel.
“I wonder if he checked the tires on his jumbo jet before taking off for a purely personal visit?” Blakeman says. “The way he spends campaign money is a direct reflection of how he will spend ours. He could have easily flown commercial or taken a much smaller corporate aircraft that would cost a fraction of a 757.”
Ironically, it was Palin as governor who saved money for Alaskans by selling the state’s jet and instead flying commercial.
Kellyanne Conway, one of the most respected Republican pollsters, says the media’s attack on Palin’s clothes is an example of elitist snobbery or “classism.” Noting the media’s treatment of her, “I can’t believe her own family still approves of her, after the unprecedented, personal and relentless attacks that this woman has undergone,” Conway says.
Besides attacks on Palin over her clothes, Conway cites snide remarks about “the way she speaks, her husband’s lack of a college degree, the barefoot and pregnant 17-year-old daughter, you know who hunts moose anyway? The classism is so raw and unapologetic, so unconsidered and so undisguised.”

Update America:
To All You Liberal Property Owners.
What does spreading the wealth really mean? Not only tax credits as most of you think but it will also include Condemnation, the taking of property under Eminent Domain sometimes with appropriate compensation.
The majority opinion in the Supreme Court case involving New London, Conn., limited the homeowners’ rights by saying local governments could take private property for economic-development-related projects because the motive was to bring more jobs and tax revenue to a city. Moreover, the federal government may use land that is considered for the good of the general public.
How does it work? Charlie, no property owner, is included in a federal land project that supports giving owned land (property) to those persons the federal government considers qualified to own land. Joe the land owner has 24,000 square feet of land on which Joe the land owner only uses 12,000 square feet for housing. The federal government in its share the wealth program condemns half of Joe the land owner’s owned land and gives him a tax credit as just compensation for the land. The local government sub-divides the property into two lots. The half that was condemned is now titled to the new owner, Charlie no property owner, who is now Joe the land owner.
Condemnation can apply to Joe the land owner with large acreage. The federal government in its share the wealth program condemns 10 acres of Joe the land owner and gives a tax credit as just compensation. The local government zones the property as residential and sub-divides the land into housing lots. Charlie, no property owner, is selected to receive a lot to build a house.
Wake up America your rights are melting away by the way of socialism.
No Obama share the wealth programs for those in the know.

Is Joe the Plumber coming to campaign in Charlotte, NC anytime soon? I’d like to hear him speak and ask his opinion on the Fed’s Open Market Account and his take the Israeli-Palestinian peace negotiations. I also hope that he’s being well remunerated for his campaign appearances. A man on plumber’s wages can’t afford to take too many breaks from his regular job.

The bad thing about Joe is that McCain’s campaign is going to use him and then toss him aside. His life is over as he knows it. Keep an eye on Joe after the election. See what happens to him. Obama and McCain will do he same to you if you give them the chance. They both have their own set of special interests that they cater to and you are not one of them.

Yeah, that is pretty lame. The news media, both the so-called “MSM” and the likes of Fox and MSNBC are money-making entities. They make money by attracting consumers of their product. They do so by pandering to their target base. They’re only marginally interested in reporting hard news. They’re all in the entertainment business.

Seriously people. Do you really think that one man has the ability to turn the country into a socialist/communist state? First of all, where would the federal government get the resources to acquire all of the private enterprises in the US? I guess they could continue to borrow the money from China and Russia like Bush did but I think we’ve about maxed out our credit card with them. Then there’s this pesky document called the US Constitution. Even though Bush doesn’t pay much attention to it the rest of us do and it kinda prohibits the federal government from doing these things. The boring truth here is that neither McCain nor Obama will destroy the US if elected. Obama isn’t a Muslim, communist, anti-Christ. McCain isn’t Bush nor the reincarnation of Hitler. (Sarah Palin is another matter altogther).
It’s time to turn off the radio and think for yourselves.

Governor Sarah Palin does not practice socialism by sharing tax money with the Alaskan taxpayers from win-fall big oil profits. Obama’s National Healthcare Program is socialism because it is derived from collecting taxes from taxpayers and not win-fall profits. Governor Sarah Palin recognizes that big oil makes money by overcharging the taxpayers and Governor Sarah Palin makes big oil pay.
Obama on the other hand killed legislation to increase big oils tax. Governor Sarah Palin makes big oil pay for their overcharging the taxpayers.
Too bad you do not live in Alaska:
You Betcha Palin Is A Tough Governor: This is Governor Palin Way Of Spending Oil Tax Money.
During the oil crisis of 2007, Palin fought to raise taxes on oil companies. As fuel prices skyrocketed in the lower 49 states, Palin complained that her state wasn’t getting its share of the windfall.
Palin successfully pushed for a law that raised taxes on oil profits. The increase amounted to an estimated $1.6-billion annually more for the state: double the amount it received the year before. Then she gave the money to the people.
It’s true: we’ve already checked her claim that she sent “a large share of that revenue directly back to the people of Alaska.”
On Aug. 7, 2008, the Alaska Legislature approved a measure she promoted. The administration of Alaska’s governor Sarah Palin now gives $1,200 to every single Alaskan. This comes to about $741-million for state residents. In addition, each resident will receive an annual dividend of $2,000 from an oil-wealth savings account. That comes to about $741-million for state residents
For a family of 7 (Gov. Palin has 7 members in her family) that means an additional $22,400.00 in income sent from the state of Alaska. WOW, who needs a job! Back to the trailer, Billy Bob!

Update America:
Rhetoric: Industry says it is investing heavily in renewable and alternative technology. The American Petroleum Institute (API) has claimed that, “In North America over the last five years, the oil and gas industry has invested almost $100 billion on renewable, alternative and advanced emerging energy technologies.” (API letter to Members of Congress, 3/30/07)
Reality: Industry is hardly investing in renewable, non-petroleum energy. When the industry breaks down investment in what it terms “renewable, alternative and advanced emerging energy technologies,” very little of the $98 billion spent on these technologies was invested in renewable or alternative energy sources. Only $1.2 billion of the $98 billion advertised by the industry as investment in renewables and alternatives was actually spent on renewable sources of energy between 2000 and 2005. This funding was not spent on renewable fuels but on production of electricity from wind, solar, geothermal, and landfill gas. (American Petroleum Institute, “Facts on Fuel”)
The oil and gas industry has invested heavily ($86 billion over five years) in refining heavier sources of petroleum, including tar and oil sands and oil shale, and on turning waste and residue hydrocarbons into usable products. The industry has also modestly invested ($11 billion) in combined heat and power and vehicle fuel efficiency technologies.
The amount invested in the next generation of energy is a tiny fraction of investment and an even smaller fraction of industry profits that could be invested in clean technologies.
When asked to provide their companies’ investment in non-petroleum energy supply and production during a November 2005 hearing, the CEOs of the five largest oil companies reported little investment. Exxon reported investing a “negligible amount” in non-petroleum energy, and ChevronTexaco included coal and natural gas investments in its tally. (ExxonMobil and ChevronTexaco responses to Questions from the Record of Joint Committee Hearing regarding Energy Pricing and Profits, Senate Energy and Natural Resources and Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committees, 11/9/05)
Both public and private investment in energy R&D have declined. Investment in energy research and development has been steadily falling despite rising geopolitical, environmental, and economic risks of dependence on oil. Investments in energy R&D by U.S. companies fell by 50 percent between 1991 and 2003. Total private sector energy R&D is less than the R&D budgets of individual biotech companies. Since the mid-1990s, both public and private sector R&D spending has been stagnant for renewable energy and energy efficiency. (Daniel M. Kammen and Gregory F. Nemet, “Reversing the Incredible Shrinking Energy R&D Budget,” Issues in Science and Technology, Fall 2005)
Big Oil is an “obstacle” to alternative fuel stations. Big oil companies are using their market power to discourage service stations from stocking or offering E85 fuel and to create rules that make it difficult for consumers to compare prices for, fill up with, or purchase E85. Exxon Mobil and BP require their franchised stations to buy fuel exclusively from them, and neither company offers E85. Station owners must apply for exceptions to purchase E85. ChevronTexaco and ConocoPhillips require an E85 pump to be set away from the other pumps and do not allow stations to list E85 on their primary sign listing fuel prices. Chevron recommends that stations install new storage tanks and pumps worth about $200,000 at their own expense to offer E85, rather than using existing tanks and pumps. BP will not allow its franchised stations to offer payment by credit card at E85 pumps. (Wall Street Journal, 4/2/07)
Big Oil Tells Alternative Technology To Go to Hell While Reaping Big Profits for Share Holders and Obama Agrees. Governor Sarah Palin’s big oil tax in Alaska was created by wind-fall PROFITS of big oil. The taxpayers in Alaska make big oil pay for their lack of concern for alternative technologies and overcharging the taxpayers. The Alaskan tax on big oil wind-fall profits is a fine (cash paid as punishment) for profiteering.

DON’T BE A PAWN! Obama’s policies have been TRIED and FAILED. Creating a welfare nation is not going to work. And Universal Healthcare is sssssp – inhale now – a pipe dream. CONSIDER THIS: Incredibly, we have no definitive explanation of why a global financial crisis suddenly materialized just six weeks before U.S. elections. IF SUBPRIME loans hadn’t happened in the FIRST place there wouldn’t have been PRODUCT to bundle, sell and mutilate. DEMOCRATS headed the FINANCE committees that fought reform. The CRA was “revised” during Clinton’s reign leading to SubPrime abuses—which ultimately ABUSED low-income people. (That’s right, they keep you weak and dependent!)

Then left-leaning hedge fund operators who profited off Mortgage-Backed-Securities (i.e., THIEVES with offshore accounts to avoid taxes) poured their profits into Obama & the Democrats—who want more government because THEY need jobs! MORE TAXES – MORE GOV’T – MORE JOBS (for them!)

Update America:
Governor Sarah Palin does not practice socialism by sharing tax money with the Alaskan taxpayers from wind-fall big oil profits. Obama’s National Healthcare Program is socialism because it is derived from collecting taxes from taxpayers and not wind-fall profits.
As fuel prices skyrocketed in the lower 49 states, Palin complained that her state wasn’t getting its share of the wind-fall.
Sarah Palin makes big oil pay for their overcharging the taxpayers. In Alaska wind-fall profits equals win-win for the taxpayers.
Obama killed legislation to tax big oil. The Obama supporters suffer from so many misconceptions from Obama.

“We are still waiting for more on the kinship of Joe the Plumber to the family of Charles Keating, of the Keating Five. Wurzelbacher is a very common name, right?”
Right. Let’s see if I can follow your logic(?). Charles Keating had one of his distant relatives secretly move into Joe’s house years ago knowing, all those years in advance, that in 2008 The Stuttering Stooge would be stupid enough to interrupt him playing catch with his son just so The Stuttering Stooge could try manipulate a photo op with an average, working class schmo only to have it blow up in The Stuttering Stooge’s face. (Maybe it was Rove, instead, huh?) Really, man. See a therapist, soon. Oh, BTW, McCain was the only person cleared in the Keating Five deal. See? That’s why McCain keeps him out in the spotlight – because he attracts flies like you and that Ohio state employee who began running all kinds of checks on the guy, in violation of his rights.
In turn, the people have someone to rally around and support as the Obama camp and Big Brother try to tear him down.

Obama’s past is unclear and suspicious with many associations with left-wing liberals. Or maybe Obama is just too complacent or oblivious with what is going on around him. Embarrass the One, and pay the consequences.
Ohio’s inspector general is investigating why a state agency director approved checking the state child-support computer system for information on “Joe the Plumber.”
Helen Jones-Kelly, director of the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, confirmed today that she OK’d the check on Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher following the Oct. 15 presidential debate.
She said there were no political reasons for the check on the sudden presidential campaign fixture though the Support Enforcement Tracking System.
Amid questions from the media and others about “Joe the Plumber,” Jones-Kelley said she approved a check to determine if he was current on any ordered child-support payments.
Such information was not and cannot be publicly shared, she said. It is unclear if Wurzelbacher is involved in a child-support case. Reports state that he lives alone with a 13-year-old son.
“Our practice is when someone is thrust quickly into the public spotlight, we often take a look” at them, Jones-Kelley said, citing a case where a lottery winner was found to owe past-due child support. “Our practice is to basically look at what is coming our way.”
Ohio Inspector General Thomas P. Charles confirmed today that he is investigating the incident to determine if “Joe’s” records were legally accessed by Job and Family Services employees.
The use of a STATE computer system to search for information on Wurzelbacher is the FOURTH uncovered by The Columbus Dispatch.
Joe the Plumber rights are violated and he has a right to sue for any misconduct by Ohio officials.

McCain has had nothing of substance to say the entire campaign.Fear Fear Fear that’s is message. He’s been tested,he knows what to do.So why doesn’t he tell us what some of his plans are?Why can’t he come up with a consistent message? I’m not interested in what he has to say about Obama. I would like to hear him(mcCain)tell me specifically why I should vote for him. There are other candidates besides Obama.WHY SHOULD I VOTE FOR JOHN McCAIN???
Because he picked Palin, which will probaly end up as President?? What has she REALLY had to say about anything besides Obama.I’m tired of hearing about him.WHY SHOULD I VOTE FOR SARAH PALIN?? She can’t seem to keep her foot out of her mouth long enough to tell me what I need to hear.
Should I vote for McCain because of “Joe the Plumber”?? I’m not a Joe the plumber. Are YOU??
I practice my craft complete with credentials and a licence. My taxes are fully paid and I have no liens or judgements against me for unpaid debts.
I have not recently hired a publicist.I am not considering a record contract.I am not considering giving up a very lucrative career in plumbing to pursue a political office.I was honored to serve my country having enlisted when I was eighteen.
I don’t hunt moose. I’m not a hockey mom or a pitbull.I don’t wear lipstick. No one has ever spent 150K on my wardrobe.
I’m not a maverick,which is literally “a motherless calf”.
I don’t own seven houses. I don’t have a wealthy wife. I do,however,own a vehicle made in U.S.A.
I’m not interested in any form of organized religion.I don’t believe GOD needs a bunch of people running around fighting his fight for Him.If He wants a fight I’m sure He’s quite capable of taking care of Himself.I don’t pretend to be righteous to win support.I’m not concerned about “the government” taking away my guns.I finally figured out the govt. is not the least bit interested in my guns,as long as I’m not robbing liquor stores and shooting people in my spare time.If all the gun owners in America joined together they would pose no threat to “the government” and if the arsenal of modern weapons the gov. posesses were ever turned on the GP say to quell some kind of insurrection, all our guns would be good for would be to possibly shoot ourselves and end our own misery.
I’m not interested in abortion.(see above comment about GOD)
I don’t hate anyone.I’m not a racist,sexist,elitist,I’m not homophobic,xenophobic. I AM NOT AFRAID!!!
I don’t hate the government.I don’t mind paying taxes. If it would help the country as a whole I wouldn’t object to paying a little more, preferably by increasing my income.
I am fair,open-minded and tolerant of those that are different from myself.
So why should I vote for McCain/Palin?? I can honestly say he has said not one
word during the course of his campaign that means squat to me!

Joe is not a bald ,unlicensed plumber! He’s shaved! There’s a difference!

Same old long winded static from the left. Funny, when Gettingtired1955 said “lacking substance, ” and “fear, fear, fear, ” I could have sworn they were talking about the Obama-mercial.
Another thing I find incredibly interesting. With all the media that has made up its mind, the saturation marketing of Obama’s face plastered everywhere from billboards to toilet paper (my personal favorite), to the bloggers like Gettingtired1955 who are consciously or unconsciously (more likely) saturate the blogs and the pollsters with their attempt to depress and scare the hard working self driven people of this Great country, you all miss one very important point. The squeakiest wheel doesn’t always get the oil, if the oil doesn’t stop the noise, more times than not it just gets replaced.
The pollsters and the media (thankfully) do themselves a great injustice. They dilute themselves so much with their own propaganda that they never have an accurate depiction of what the American people really think. That is what happened with Kerry 4 years ago and that is what will happen with Barack LaBumba. Everyone knows how much the media has been peeing all over themselves to tell us how great he is. It is so blatantly obvious to everyone but the media and the left…kind of like trying to hide it when you are in love with someone. You think you are being all secretive but the whole office or your friends all know already.
We are already a heavily marketed country, advertising everywhere we turn. That being said, the average American has had to learn to be alot more savvy when choosing any product or service and whether it is substance or fluff. This is why I have alot more faith in this country and all of us “Joe the Plumbers” out there.
When you have a candidate that runs over to Iraq to make a seemingly good faith visit and to Europe to see our troops, but doesn’t bother to go visit our military hospital there because he “couldn’t bring his camera crew, ” what does that tell you?
What does it tell you about someone who didn’t want to wear a flag pin because he “didn’t want to seem like he was choosing sides (Meet the Press 9-7-08).” If he was not sure enough to want to “appear” to be on OUR SIDE, then why, God Bless America, should we force him to “appear” to be on OUR SIDE by electing him President. I wouldn’t want the precious LaBuma to feel uncomfortable. Besides, if not on Our side than whose side would he be on?
Or someone who ‘tries’ to push a bill through the state of Illinois that says if someone breaks into your home and tries to kill you and you shoot them, the criminal CAN file charges against you. Fortunately, the bill did not pass, but it does say something about character. At the end of the day that is what all of this boils down to; character. Who has it and who plays like they have it.
With all the highly questionable figures that Barak LaBumba has had to explain in his life gives one pause. Sure each one alone is “maybe” no big deal but together they lead to what psychologists call a pathology (a consistent path in one’s life). If McCain had anything questionable like that in his past, you know we would have heard about it by now. All I can say is sometimes when you smell smoke, its because your house really is on fire.

– If McCain had anything questionable like that in his past, –
Doubtful that it would come out of the Obama campaign, who has maintained the high road and not tried to drag guilt by association smear tactics into the fray.
Of course, there are many, many more questionable and direct associations that McCain has over his past 26 years in Congress, including ties with Obama Bin Laden himself when he was ‘our friend’. Those who have researched his career know full well what they are, the atrocities that were committed with his blessings, and what they implicate in terms of judgment and character.
Of course, just the fact that McCain cannot defend his own platform speaks volumes about how he in no way puts country first and is simply in the race to win at any cost. Just look at his ‘honorable’ campaign is and how even fellow friends and former allies are now trying to distance themselves.
Sure, the straight line GOP zealots would rather look the other way, and the rest of the Anti-Obama crowd is just drooling at the mouth trying to find anything to justify their positions and keep from shattering their world view, regardless of how tenuous or absurd.
That is the way in politics for many. Fortunately, for many others, we look at what each candidate represents for the future of this great country and what direction it will take us. McCain would have us continue down that same road to eventual destruction. His does not differ in any significant way from Bush or his policy stance. His tax plan is just a continuation of a tried and failed trickle down plan that has never worked in our nations history and for the last 8 years has led us into recession. His health plan would be a disaster for a nation that is now in the middle of a health crisis, resulting in even more Americans losing coverage. His foreign policy stance would continue us along our existing path of isolation and unilateral decision making policies. His energy policy would simply lengthen our reliance on oil and dump even more money into an infrastructure that we so desperately need to get away from. His short fuse and knee-jerk reactionary persona would put or national security at risk and overburden our already taxed military forces. Maybe back in 2000, when the economy was good, we had a balanced budget and were at peace. But not now.. we cannot afford it.
Obama – for the future of America.

Send this to everyone in your e-mail list….. I just did
THIS LETTER MAKES MORE SENSE THAN ANYTHING I HAVE SEEN, HEARD, OR READ, CONCERNING THE UPCOMING ELECTION…
IT’S A LETTER FROM A U.S. CITIZEN… WHO LIVES IN ILLINOIS … AND OBVIOUSLY IS A ‘SELF-THINKER’… NOT JUST A ‘FOLLOWER’!!!
IF YOU ONLY READ ONE THING, REGARDING THIS ELECTION… LET THIS BE THE ONE THING!! AFTER READING IT, YOU WILL PROBABLY WANT TO FORWARD IT TO OTHER AMERICANS WHO ARE ‘SELF THINKERS’!!
An impassioned letter from a ‘nobody’. But he gives his telephone number at the end.
Sent: Monday, August 18, 2008 3:19 PM
Subject: FW: A letter from Ilinois
Dear Friends:
My name is Joe Porter. I live in Champaign , Illinois .. I’m 46 years old, a born-again Christian, a husband, a father, a small business owner, a veteran, and a homeowner. I don’t consider myself to be either conservative or liberal, and I vote for the person, not Republican or Democrat. I don’t believe there are ‘two Americas ‘ but that every person in this country can be whomever and whatever they want to be if they’ll just work to get there and nowhere else on earth can they find such opportunities. I believe our government should help those who are legitimately downtrodden, and should always put the interests of America first.
The purpose of this message is that I’m concerned about the future of this great nation. I’m worried that the silent majority of honest, hard-working, tax-paying people in this country have been passive for too long. Most folks I know choose not to involve themselves in politics. They go about their daily lives, paying their bills, raising their kids, and doing what they can to maintain the good life. They vote and consider doing so to be a sacred trust. They shake their heads at the political pundits and so-called ‘news’, thinking that what they hear is always spun by whomever is report ing it. They can’t understand how elected officials can regularly violate the public trust with pork barrel spending. They don’t want government handouts. They want the government to protect them, not raise their taxes for more government programs.
We are in the unique position in this country of electing our leaders. It’s a privilege to do so. I’ve never found a candidate in any election with whom I agreed on everything. I’ll wager that most of us don’t even agree with our families or spouses 100% of the time. So when I step into that voting booth, I always try to look at the big picture and cast my vote for the man or woman who is best qualified for the job. I’ve hired a lot of people in my lifetime, and essentially that’s what an election is – a hiring process. Who has the credentials? Whom do I want working for me? Whom can I trust to do the job right?
I’m concerned that a growing number of voters in this country simply don’t get it. They are caught up in a fervor they can’t explain, and calling it ‘change’.
‘Change what?’, I ask.
‘Well, we’re going to change America ‘, they say.
&nb sp; ‘In what way?’, I query.
‘We want someone new and fresh in the White House’, they exclaim.
‘So, someone who’s not a politician?’, I say.
‘Uh, well, no, we just want a lot of stuff changed, so we’re voting for Obama’, they state.
‘So the current system, the system of freedom and democracy that has enabled a man to grow up in this great country, get a fine education, raise incredible amounts of money and dominate the news, and win his party’s nomination for the White House that system’s all wrong?’
‘No, no, that part of the system’s okay we just need a lot of change.’
And so it goes. ‘Change we can believe in.’
Quite frankly, I don’t believe that vague proclamations of change hold any promise for me. In recent months, I’ve been asking virtually everyone I encounter how they’re voting. I live in Illinois , so most folks tell me they’re voting for Barack Obama. But no one can really tell me why only that he’s going to change a lot of stuff ‘Change, change, change.’ I have yet to find one single person who can tell me distinctly and convincingly why this man is qualified to be President and Commander-in-Chief of the most powerful nation on earth other than the fact that he claims he’s going to implement a lot of change.
We’ve all seen the emails about Obama’s genealogy, his upbringing, his Muslim background, and his church affiliations.. Let’s ignore this for a moment. Put it all aside. Then ask yourself, ‘What qualifies this man to be my president? That he’s a brilliant orator and talks about change?’
CHANGE WHAT?
Friends, I’ll be forthright with you I believe the American voters who are supporting Barack Obama don’t have a clue what they’re doing, as evidenced by the fact that not one of them – NOT ONE of them I’ve spoken to can spell out his qualifications. Not even the most liberal media can explain why he should be elected. Political experience? Negligible. Foreign relations? Non-existent. Achievements? Name one. Someone who wants to unite the country? If you haven’t read his wife’s thesis from Princeton , look it up on the web. This is who’s lining up to be our next First Lady? The only thing I can glean from Obam a’s constant harping about change is that we’re in for a lot of new taxes.
For me, the choice is clear. I’ve looked carefully at the two leading applicants for the job, and I’ve made my choice.
Here’s a question – ‘Where were you five and a half years ago? Around Christmas, 2002. You’ve had five or six birthdays in that time. My son has grown from a sixth grade child to a high school graduate. Five and a half years is a good chunk of time. About 2,000 days. 2,000 nights of sleep. 6, 000 meals, give or take.’
John McCain spent that amount of time, from 1967 to 1973, in a North Vietnamese prisoner-of-war camp.
When offered early release, he refused it. He considered this offer to be a public relations stunt by his captors, and insisted that those held longer than he should be released first. Did you get that part? He was offered his freedom, and he turned it down. A regimen of beatings and torture began.
Do you possess such strength of character? Locked in a filthy cell in a foreign country, would you turn down your own fr eedom in favor of your fellow man? I submit that’s a quality of character that is rarely found, and for me, this singular act defines John McCain.
Unlike several presidential candidates in recent years whose military service is questionable or non-existent, you will not find anyone to denigrate the integrity and moral courage of this man. A graduate of Annapolis, during his Naval service he received the Silver Star, Bronze Star, Purple Heart and Distinguished Flying Cross. His own son is now serving in the Marine Corps in Iraq . Barack Obama is fond of saying ‘We honor John McCain’s service….BUT…’, which to me is condescending and offensive – because what I hear is, ‘Let’s forget this man’s sacrifice for his country, and his proven leadership abilities, and talk some more about change.’
I don’t agree with John McCain on everything – but I am utterly convinced that he is qualified to be our next President, and I trust him to do what’s right. I know in my heart that he has the best interests of our country in mind. He doesn’t simply want to be President – he wants to lead America , and there’s a huge difference. Factually, there is simply no comparison between the two candidates. A man of questionable background and motives who prattles on about change, can’t hold a candle to a man who has devoted his life in public service to this nation, retiring from the Navy in1981 and elected to the Senate in1982.
Perhaps Obama’s supporters are taking a stance between old and new. Maybe they don’t care about McCain’s service or his strength of character, or his unblemished qualifications to be President. Maybe ‘likeability’ is a higher priority for them than ‘trust’. Being a prisoner of war is not what qualifies John McCain to be President of the United States of America – but his demonstrated leadership certainly DOES.
Dear friends, it is time for us to stand. It is time for thinking Americans to say, ‘Enough.’ It is time for people of all parties to stop following the party line. It is time for anyone who wants to keep America first, who wants the right man leading their nation, to start a dialogue with all their friends and neighbors and ask who they’re votin g for, and why.
There’s a lot of evil in this world. That should be readily apparent to all of us by now. And when faced with that evil as we are now, I want a man who knows the cost of war on his troops and on his citizens. I want a man who puts my family’s interests before any foreign country.
I want a President who’s qualified to lead.
I want my country back, and I’m voting for John McCain.

Which unliscenced [sic] jackass wrote this blurb? Maybe if you had a journalism license you would know all professionals do a spell-check before they publish.

OM Gosh!!! I wish some of you would listen to yourselves!!!!
You state that John McCain is running a negative campaign, YET:
2 television news stations
have been banned by THE ONE for
asking Obama’s campaign some tough
questions.
Joe had his personal information
dragged through the biased media
after asking a tough question of
Obama. Remember, Obama came to
him, Joe was not looking for Obama.
In Kentucky, two young men have
been arrested and charged with
hate crimes after hanging an
effigy of THE ONE- yet in
California, two other young men
have hung effigies of Sarah Palin
and John McCain with no charges
even after weeks of complaints of
neighbors.
Time is growing short….enjoy your freedom of the next few days…because after November 4, you will wake up to a very different country….and not in a good way.

This is typical Lib-spin, calling Joe the Plumber “unlicensed” – because in his locality, he is not REQUIRED to be licensed.
I suppose we could point out that this entry was written by an “unlicensed journalist.” Oooooooooh! The scandal. He’s an unlicensed journalist!
But that doesn’t make much sense either, as there is no requirement that he be licensed either.

Posted by: conservativewilderness | October 31, 2008, 7:54 am 7:54 am

I wonder, also, how many times has this “journalist” described Obama as the “black, Muslim-sounding-named, former community agitator”?
Hmmmm…

The Big money problem !!
OR the big CRASH the fanny may the hole thing is a car the DEVILCRATS run the wheels off because of Bill Clinton instructing His staff Janet Reno to prossicute banks for NOT MAKING BAD LOANS ON HOMES TO WELFARE or unemployed or undocumented people
This has been a cash cow for investers since OLeBilly dun it to us in a long range plan by his party to scam more money out of the goverment using this plan.
Funny how this finacial mess had the wheels fall off at election time so the DEVILCRATs could use it to try to win the election along with all of there other dirty tricks ( public funded ACORN )
BUT HERE IS MY POINT.
IF THIS FINACIAL MESS WAS CAUSED BY A REPUBLICAN THEN THAT WOULD BE THE BIG NEWS EVENT THIS WHOLE TIME. SO SINCE THIS IS NOT THE CASE. THIS PROVES THAT THE devilcrats HAVE THERE HANDS ALL OVER IT.
SO IF O-BIG-LIE OBAMA IS ELECTED HE WILL COVER ALL THIS UP AND INSURE FUNDING FOR acorn FOR THE NEXT PUBLIC ELECTION THAT THE DEVILCRATS HAVE IN THERE SITES
The local economey here in my town we cannot afford the new inflated home prices caused by this deseption. We just dont make that kind of money to fund the payment so say so long to the dream of owning a home in this area. I am sure this all over our raped nation in areas.
Vote for Change
vote McCain/Palin to save what is left

The economy is in a mess. Home foreclosures, millions loosing there jobs, 401k retirement are being depleted. Billions sepent on Iraq. But I guess you must be one of the few wealthy. You Republicans are such self righteous, vile hypocrites it amazes me.

Poor old John “the sugar-daddy” McCain is being sucked dry by Sarah Palin. Sarah has her own agenda for 2012 and she is going to do whatever it takes to achieve her personal goal. Four years of civic classes and a few years of work with animal control would probably prepare her for some political support job in the lower 48. Sarah can pursue her own agenda to be the presidential nominee in 2012 as long as she can persuade John, a person that is displaying all the signs of diminished capacity and the ability to reason, to toot the horn for Joe the plumber and make himself look like a total dunce in the process.

Obama wants us to worship him. You can see it in his eyes. His talk of “the righteous winds at our backs”. He goes to see his sick grandmother and announces it to the world and practically acquires sainthood for it. He loves the adoration. He feeds off of it. He has promised everything to everyone in order to gain their trust. Has no one learned in their lifetime that this type of person should be avoided at all costs?? How sad for our nation.

A major middle eastern newspaper just came out with a report that data and images found on a laptop computer, captured by Special Ops in Afghanistan, clearly indicate that Barack Obama was at one time seen at an Al-Quaeda training camp. During the enhancement procedure of the images, they conclude that with 99.9% certainty, one of the people shows Barack Obama. They can’t place the location (other than it is in Afghanistan and a camp)and can’t say for sure the date of when the picture was taken, but they estimate that it was some time between 1998 and 2000.

Once the election is over, Joe the Plumber will be tossed off to the side by McCain/Palin. Lucas County will go after back taxes from last year. The County will also make a point to Joe and his boss that neither of them can be plumbers in a county that requires a plumbing license. Arizona is going to come after him for the court fines Jose skipped out on and let Ohio know that Joe has a suspended driver’s license; which in turn will result in Joe’s Ohio driver license being revoked. Then the publicist that Joe the plumber hired is going to give Joe the bill. … which Joe won’t be able to pay.
All in all it will be a great experience that Joe the plumber will never forget. God bless the little criminal.

He intends to take him to Washington. I am appalled.
If this happens our country with be the laughing stock of all the other countries.
This cannot happen.
We cannot have our government end up a loony bin.
Oh heaven helps us. This country will truly fall apart. IS that his role model? Joe the plumber..I think that, McCain is losing it mentally. We will never get over the aftershock if he should win. We have to make sure it doesn’t so everyone please vote and Vote for a man of intelligence. Obama is the only man who can make this country honorable again.
