McCain-Backing Congresswoman Suggests Obamas Have Anti-American Views
On MSNBC’s Hardball, Rep. Michelle Bachmann, R-Minn., said the "collection of friends that Barack Obama has had over this life" — specifically Rev. Jeremiah Wright and Bill Ayers — "calls into question what Barack Obama’s true beliefs and values and thoughts are."
Bachmann also pointed out that Obama had been rated one year by the National Journal as the most liberal Senator, prompting Chris Matthews to ask what the connection is between being liberal and being anti-American.
"The liberals that are Jeremiah Wright and Bill Ayers they’re over the top anti-American," Bachmann said, "Remember it was Michelle Obama who said she’s only recently proud of her country, these are very anti-American views."
"I’m very concerned that he may have anti-American views," Bachmann said.
"The people that Barack Obama has been associating with are anti-American, by and large," Bachmann said.

this lady,

i watched it on hardball yesterday,
when cm started asking her those questions.
she didn’t know what hit her. she was all over the place, she did not give cool. well thought out answers, you could just see her, running through her memory bank for republican talking points.
all of these people who think like this, and mccain and his crowd who think it is still going to be a american superpower as they have known it, this group is getting smaller and smaller. because, after george bush, the rest of the world see we the american superpower people don’t know what we are doing and are becoming a danger to the rest of the world. and they will not stand by and let such narrow minded foolishness rule the world.
after 9/11 the world was at out beck and call, we will do anything you say you want done. and bush and co. said no thanks. well we will pay for that in the future.
the kind of thinking of this woman are on the way out.
and we may as well get use to this.

Does this lady or sarah with the above comment have any idea of the history of this country, how it actually came into being?
We don’t need another McCarthy era in this country trying to scare the people. Is every Republican who sat on the board with Ayers also “anti-American”? How about any Republicans who might have attended the same church? It’s amazing that the ignorance in this country goes all the way up to members of the Congress.

You do a social injustice by not covering this story completely. Why not include her comments calling for the press to investigate all of Congress to see who is patriotic and who is not. Mathews allowed her free reign to make her thoughts very clear and very much her own, this was not a biased interview. Why not cover this story completely?!

John McCain is fond of using the line: “I never really loved America until I was deprived of its company”
Does that mean he hated America before? He must not have thought it could be interpreted that way, because he has used this exact line several times over the years.

bit and piece,
a flag and a song are suppose to be symbols of something deeper,,
they are not IT.
what patriotism means to me, is how well a country takes care of the least of the people who live under that flag.
and if you think having 40mil+ people who live without healthcare is patriotic and the gov. not change that, that is unpatriotic.
the flag and a song are not it.
it is the gov. that flys the flag and the people who sing the song and their well being is what is it.

michelle bachman is certainly a scaremonger, who is trying to create confusion in the minds of the voters. Let us all be guided by wisdom, as we make our selection for president, on november the 4th. Only one, out of touch, would suggest that Barack Obama is anti-american, and the wise can surely detect the underlying reason, for such thinking and saying. God Bless America.

Likely voters don’t include new registrants…you do realize that right?
GOP turnout lagging in heavy N. Carolina early voting
Thursday’s first day of early voting drew record numbers across North Carolina, election officials said, as more than 100,000 people turned out.
That exceeded the 2004 figure by about 40 percent, said Gary Bartlett, executive director of the State Board of Elections.
“We blew it away,” Bartlett said Friday, encouraging other voters to take advantage of the early voting period before it ends on Nov. 1. “If not, it will be a long day on Election Day.”
Mecklenburg County, where Chgarlotte is located, also set records, with an updated count showing more than 10,000 voting on the first day, and an additional 7,000 on Friday. Michael Dickerson, the county’s elections director, suspects Friday’s totals might have been higher if not for the rain.
Across the state, Democrats showed the most first-day enthusiasm. Of the nearly 114,000 first-day voters, 64 percent were Democrats, 21 percent Republicans and 15 percent unaffiliateds.
But go ahead…make yourself feel good. Democrats want large voter turnout which is encouraged by close polls…thank you Gallup!

The Denver Post, “which had backed George W. Bush in 2004 and is owned by Republican-leaning William Dean Singleton,” endorsed Barack Obama for president on Friday. “So did the Chicago Sun-Times, Kansas City Star. Look, the talking points come from McCain’s campaign and approved by McCain.
What a pity! It is so sad to see McCain, once an honorable man, succumbed to his desire to be President and sold his soul in doing whatever it takes to win including the very things he once loathed. He has lost his way and all credibility.
He picked Palin, an unqualified candidate, to appease the Republican base as his running mate. He hired the Bush team to run his campaign and employed the same dirty tactics that were used against him in 2000. He is 2 faced in this campaign – a charming one in the public and a dark and dirty one in private. He says one thing in public comments like running a positive campaign, Barack Obama is a decent man, etc. and does the opposite using Robo calls and negative character attacks that are filled with lies and half truth. Now with this Wacko congresswoman going to extremes.
Where is McCain’s honor?
Just watch, his next tactic will focus on voter suppression in the swing states. McCain may think that he can return to his decent self in the future. The sad reality is once anyone goes over to the dark side, it is almost impossible to rid the control of the evil power except through divine intervention.
For those who vote for McCain, you may want to pray for his repentance and salvation before it is too late and prepare to accept defeat on Nov. 4…

Currently, Ohio is a statistical tie in many polls. It could go either way. It is trending towards Obama, but Obama finishes poorly in the last few days of an election.
National elections always get even tighter as the day of the vote approaches, and there’s all kinds of funny business going on in the Heart of it all state.
So it is that one might wonder: what if The One loses in Ohio?
Of course there’ll be outrage yada yada yada, but will it focus on Diebold voting machines,
ACORN’s focus on registering the dead and cartoon demographics,
or will the Democrats blame the Ohio Secretary of State as they did in Florida back in 2000?

Your caps lock key is on by the way.
If you regularly associate with your bank robber friend, that would be called associating with felons. Felons, because they crossed a line that society hold dear, are for ever kept from some rights as citizens. One of those rights that they lose in most states is the right to vote.
In Florida, through the work of ACORN and other lovely groups, there is a large number of felons (who are not allowed to vote in that state) registered to vote. I am sure as felons they will continue to respect the laws.

Of course they complained back then. They assured us that Clinton’s tax rates would “destroy” the economy. Then we had the highest job growth and stock market gains in our history, while balancing the budget at the same time.
Now that Obama is proposing to go back to those same tax rates, people are assuring us that it will “destroy” the economy and turn us into a socialist state.

The stunning bit about Obama on socialism is that he openly admits it. He is the one who said he was going to redistribute income. Most savy politicians will jump into “welfare of the nation speak”. Of course, this tax policies main problem is that it looks more like Herbert Hoover than FDR. FDR said no tax increases during a recession.

Michelle Bachman is a racist claiming that it was “the minorities” who caused the current financial crisis. She also stated that “Liberals” are anti-American including her peers in Congress. I am a hard working minority and pay my bills and taxes on time. Also, my family has a long history of military service including my father who fought in WWII. This woman has no business being in an elected office and MUST be voted out!

Saw the show. Bachmann is one Radical (on the right-wing side) woman. Basically her point of view is that if you don’t agree with her, you are anti-American. That way of thinking, whether it’s coming from the right or the left, is what causes fascism. We need to be really, really careful in this country of allowing all viewpoints to co-exist. If that right, which is the basis of what America supposedly stands for, is destroyed, we might as well live in Afghanistan under the Taliban ’cause it wouldn’t make any difference at that point whether we’re here or there.

They do take full credit for trying to burn to death the judge from the black panther trials. They set bombs and fires at the front and back doors to trap the judge, his wife, and their children inside – so they would burn to death. Nice group you are supporting there.

I support Obama because I think it’s time for the government to look out for the working class in this country. The trickle down theory doesn’t work except for the very rich! Are you better off than you were 8 years ago? The bush policys allowed for the home market collapse with the sub-prime loans and it wasn’t Fannie and Freddie doing these loans…it was private co’s like CountryWide,Morgage Tree etc who made these loans and sold them to Wall Street.I simply can’t support McCain because he’s the same old Bush policy and he runs a dirty campaign.

oh believe me, im only 30 years old, and as a blue collar guy i realizeda long time ago that i will be working until i cant move anymore. its sad, but thats the way it is. and, sadly you’re right. the government will NEVER let social security die. but heres my point: somethings gotta give. something will have to end. we are not at the breaking point quite yet, ut you do reaize our country is slowly fading away into history right? with politicians spending like thereis no tommorrow, we are creating our own end. so when do we get to the point where we start cutting our spending?? and i mean in a SERIOUS way? because thats the onlything that will save us in a capitalist society. the point im trying to make is, obama supporters, whether they know it or not, are voting for more socialism. whether you like that idea or not, thats what your voting for. with the recent bailout we had, we took a huuuuge leap in that direction. now the government is the largest bank in the world. how convienient. we gave the control to the idiots that caused the problem in the first place. thats my point with socialism. we sit here, day after day, arguing and yelling about the government making mistake after mistake. so lets give them more power, makes sense to me. we all what we want. so go vote fot obama. he simply cant give us ALL what we ALL want.

Liddy’s connections to John McCain
In 1998 Liddy hosted a fundraiser at his house for John McCain’s re-election campaign at which guests could have their pictures taken with McCain and Liddy.
Over the years, Liddy, who has referred to McCain as “an old friend,” has made at least four contributions totaling $5,000 to the senator’s campaigns — including $1,000 in 2008.

Thanks for making an excellent point about “socialism.” Most people throwing this word around couldn’t define it if their lives depended on it.
Let’s not forget taxpayer-funded schools. Or taxpayer-funded police and fire protection. Or taxpayer-funded public transportation. Oh, socialism is so evil!
All taxation is redistribution of wealth. Most people want to reform it — not eliminate it.

wow. ok, i see the point you are trying to make, and its one ive had with many of my frinds on many different occasions. yes, if you break it down, our current system is part socialistic, based on the fact we have alot of government funded social programs. and alot of them, at a very expensive cost. i am a compassionate person. i believe there is enough money generated in our country to help those who are in need. but where is the line to be drawn? when im referring to socialism, im referring to an INCREASE inwhat we already have. i ask you a simple question: what gives you the trust in government, to increase the level of entitlement programs? where have they proved that they are capable of handling these duties? or is it just your idealism that leads you t believe its possible? i would bet its the latter of the two.

Yeah, let’s just give Barack and Michelle a “free pass” … after all, he’s just a candidate for the highest office in the land – which of course is nothing really important like a 7-11 clerks job.
Heck, we should probably all personally know fine folks like these who once upon a time bombed public buildings and were leading members of a group which issued a “Declaration of a State of War” against the United States government and sit in a church for 20 yrs just like the one Rev Wright ran – GD America, hate, racism and all. Of course there are other associations like Tony Rezko and ACORN/affiliates – those are quality associations as well, that any true american president would be PROUD to be a part of …. right barack???
Please excuse my obvious sarcasm above, but I happen to think the qualifications for president of the United States should be just a little higher than they currently are for Barack and Michelle.
I think a reasonable amount of character, honesty, integrity, judgement etc should be expected for such a high office, but according to the many Obama supporters, that’s not the case.

McCAIN YOU AND YOUR BUDDY PHIL GRAHAM’S DEREGULATION CRASHED THE ECONOMY!
The Graham-Leach act of 1999 removed all of the regulatory protections of the Glass-Stegal Act put in place post Depression in 1932. The Glass-Steagal Act regulations stopped banks from doing exactly what they did in recent years, get to big and run wild!!!
In 2000 Phil Graham came back under George Bush and a Republican Congress and removed the rest of the regulations on financial institutions that eventually led to this entire mess!!!!
This week that earned PHIL GRAHAM an honored place on CNN’s “10 worst culprits” of the current financial crisis!
I don’t see Barnie Frank, Chuck Schumer or Chris Dodd on CNN’s “culprits list!”
And John McCain voted against deregulation time and time again throughout his career in both the House and Senate..

Like many others we watch the news coverage on
McCain’s negative campaigning on Obama’s
association with Acorn and Bill Ayers. This
abundance of coverage really doesn’t help Obama.
What I am really surprised about is there is NO
press coverage on McCain’s ties to Gordon Liddy,
Rev. Hagee and Rev. Parsley. David Letterman was
the first to bring it up in his interview with Sen
McCain the other night. Yet it deaded there. Liddy donated $5,000 to McCain’s campaign, held a fund raiser for him in his home and was described as an “old friend” by Liddy and praised Liddy’s “adhearence to the principals and philosophes that keep our nation great” and was “proud of” Liddy
There is not any news coverage any more of McCain’s ties to Keating.
I feel that the press even though pointing out McCain’s negative campaigning does not let the public know about McCain’s “domestic conections”
Now McCain is sending out thousands of Robo calls calling Obama a terrorists, yet the press doesn’t point out McCain’s quotes on Liddy and what he did. Sometimes just talking about Obama’s involvement with Ayers all the time but not mentioning he was on an education board and who was on that board as he did in the debate doesn’t give the public enough information to side for themselves.
I think Obama supporters would like to see some fair coverage any coverage on it.
See the following link.
The Press spends everyday speaking about Obama’s connection to Bill Ayers. Doesn’t the public have the right to know about the connection of McCain to Gordon Liddy (which has never been mentioned) and his connection to Keating receives no coverage anymore.
Congress held an investigation into Keating and McCain had a lot to do with it.
Obama only served on an board for education with Bill Ayers who now is a professor of education and on that board were also promenient heads of universities and news papers. Are they terrorists too?
Liddy served 4.5 years in prison for his conviction for the Watergate break-in
And the break-in of the office of Daniel Ellsberg’s psychiatrists office.
Liddy acknowledged that he was prepared to kill someone during the Ellsburg break-in if necessary.
Lidding plotting to murder journalist Howard Hunt to stop him from cooperating with investigators.
Liddy plotting to fire bomb the Brookings Institute
Liddy plotting to kidnap anti-war protestors at the Republic National Convention in 1972
During the 90’s Liddy reportably instructed his radio audience on multiple occasions how to disarm and shoot a Bureau of ATF agent

Michelle Bachman did an wonderful job interviewing with Matthews. She bested him on every turn.
Is ObamACORN unAmerican? “I am very concerned that he may have anti American ways.”
She is right. But not to the leftists. The Leftists, you see, have their own perception of what is American.
That is why Michelle Bachman’s statement is so unacceptable to Leftists. They think ObamACORN, ravin’ Wright, Farakhan, Pleger, Ayers, and all the other loons are acceptable.
Why is this a surprise to anyone, other than those of us who really are American.

Scandinavia is socialist — nursery school is subsidized, schools are free, grad school is free, medical school is free, dental school is free– and students get stipends to attend. No one is homeless, unless they are drug addicts and can’t figure things out. Crime is low, hand guns illegal, people get to vote for those folks in office. Should America be socialized? Think about it. Maybe it’s time to stop bailing out greedy Republicans and the current form of capitalism which clearly clearly doesn’t work for anyone but the very rich.

I believe the event was a non partisan event. Both Democrats, and Republicans were present, and it wasn’t about voting, it was about immigration.

Obama’s very American. He’ll do anything for power. He circulated Olbermann’s rant saying Clinton wanted Obama assassinated, but he’s campaigning with her Monday. He bashed Clinton for “supporting” NAFTA and voting for the war — just to win over the liberal and younger wing. But then he picks Biden who voted for NAFTA and the war. He bashes “deregulation,” but Biden voted for Gramm Leach Bliley. He is a shifting liar – just like all other American politicians.

Who is she to gauge Pro America vs mc carthism republicans!
Do Not like People choosing to tell me who the Patriots are this is highly Offensive.
Webster Dictionary says Patriot:
n; one who loves his or her country!
There are many diverse ways of showing Love of Country cannot be measured for me by any one else’s standards.
We are very Blessed as a Nation with many diverse cultures Legally Immigrated to this Democratic place in time.
Patriotism is a very Proud term to many Americans from their roots to what they do now as WE THE PEOPLE.
A PATRIOTISM can be from seen in the most decorated Solider all the way to the Individual person trying to be the best they can be with their circumstances as a everyday Citizen..
DO NOT THREAD ON ME!

After Dr. Johnson said patriotism was the last refuge of a scoundrel, the cynic Ambrose Bierce amended it with, “I beg to submit that it is the first.” Then H.L. Mencken jumped in: “But there is something even worse: it is the first, last and middle range of fools.”

Well, it is finally apparent that the stakes are much higher than I thought. This woman may be working for Barack’s team,(very bad joke) she made me give another contribution ! That is all I can say about this nonsense, except that she is appealing to fear and that is dangerous as hell!

I can’t wait for this election to be over. Then my brother and I can possibly start talking again, and he will quit sending me countless, hateful emails about Barack Obama. This congresswoman looks like a Stepford wife, and talks like a brown shirt fascist. Minnesota, surely you can do better than that, she is embarassing the whole country with her gibberish.

Obama’s world has been filled with people who hate America. And they all think he’s a wonderful guy.

“Rev. Jeremiah Wright damns America from the pulpit. He thinks the American government manufactured AIDS to kill off black people. He thinks the entire world is run by greedy white men.
Barack Obama sat in this man’s church for TWENTY YEARS. Wright married Barack to his wife Michelle. Wright baptized Barack’s kids. Barack used the TITLE of one of Wright’s sermons, The Audacity Of Hope, as both a title for one his books and the theme for his campaign for the Presidency. As a legislator, Barack used his influence to steer millions into extremist left-wing projects run by Wright or endorsed by him.
The connections are myriad, irrefutable and most importantly pertinent to Obama’s character and qualifications to lead this country. If Obama were a white Democratic nominee named Barry O’Malley, McCain would be going after him. By not attacking Obama’s ties to the Rev. Jeremiah Wright and other politically unsavory nonwhite associates, McCain is self-censoring for fear of seeming racist.”
John McCain is a COWARD.

Ayers is an education expert.
Reverend Wright’s church
does commendable work in
helping the needy.
Those are facets of the
two men that influenced BO.

There are influential and
powerful people in each
generation. They are
flawed in some ways and
extraordinary in other
areas.
You can allow yourself
to be influenced by that
which is good in their
lives and careers.

I would rather Republicans backing McCain show how Mr. Obama’s proposed economic policies are anti-American and will only drive us into deeper recession (assuming he can even get Congress to get on board)
Maybe a big loss in November is what the GOP needs to get back to its roots.

People wonder why McCain and the Republican party are trying to divide us. Because they are succesionists. They realize they won’t be able to RULE all of us so they’ll take some of us. And the dumber the better.
****************************************
So they want people to succeed? Sounds pretty American to me.
And the government of this country is not meant to rule us. Geez, this is not a monarchy or dictatorship.
True Story: Once upon a time, a war veteran and general had the opportunity to become a king of a nation. He knew this was not the way and refused though many wanted him to accept.

and voodoo economics led
up to the recent financial
meltdown on Wall Street.

Obama could never be the “Prince of Unity” with Wright and Ayers in his back pocket. I still can’t believe he’s in this race with all we know (and don’t know) about him. Oh, that’s right…he’s black and the rules are different….so sad. Ignorant youth (BO’s voting block and blacks) will make the difference in this election.
The keys to this country are being given to the young and ignorant and the lefty libs. I hope my country prooves me right and they are more right of center and won’t buy this coronation of “the one”.
HILLARY SUPPORTER FOR McCAIN!

Is she the reincarnation of Sen. McCarthy? This woman is creating a potentially explosive atmosphere. She is promoting the fact that “Anti-American” is code for “Anti-Republican.” The would prefer an America of Archie Bunkers who would say “USA: Love it or Leave it.”
Why is it wrong to be progressive and critical? This is not for the purpose of bashing our nation – but to improve it. We have already fallen behind in the world because as a whole we believe we are still living in 1950′s America. We’re not any longer the best in education, healthcare, standards of living, etc.- but we could be IF we care enough about this country to strive for excellence. The Executive Branch should be filled with diversity of opinion and dissent that focuses on improvement – not just a cabinet full of yes-men.

There they go again! diarrhea of the mouth.
Little wonder McCain Campaign has been wobbling and fumbling. With Advisers and Surrogates like this, no one needs an enemy.

One thing I love about Minnesota is the voters hold their representatives accountable. Voting for Michelle Bachmann is a vote for hatred, racism and ignorance. Do the right thing people, vote her and all of the rest like her out of office. We need to elect mature, serious leaders that will get down to business and get America back in business.
