McCain Campaign Seeking More ‘Joes’
ABC News’ Ron Claiborne Reports: Still riding the wave of Joe the Plumber, the McCain campaign is asking supporters to make their own "Why I’m Joe the Plumber" video with the promise that the winner’s could end up running as a campaign TV ad.
"How are you "Joe the Plumber"? Tell us in 30 seconds," the McCain campaign solictation says. "We want you to tell us how you are ‘Joe the Plumber’ and why you’re supporting John McCain and Sarah Palin in thirty seconds. You could even see your video as an official McCain TV ad."
The only guideline for submissions is to "share your story of living the American Dream, working hard, or owning a small business to tell America why you’re standing with John McCain and Sarah Palin."
Joe the Plumber — aka Joe Wurzelbacher of Ohio – has become an integral part of Sen. John McCain’s stump speech recently. McCain invokes him as the human face representing how Sen. Barack Obama (according to McCain) will raise taxes on middle-income Americans and small businesses.

I would not be surprised if Joe the plumber was planted by McCain campaign in Toledo. They are desperate to win at any cost and would say anything. In 2 weeks all this non-sense will be over and will be glad not to see divisive Palin on the stump who says anything without knowing what it means.

SHOULDN’T you include the facts regarding McCain’s allegation?
FACT: Obama cuts taxes for 95% of Americans.
FACT: Obama restores the UPPER tax rate to 39% (instead of 36%), the rate they were before the Bush tax cuts. Tax payers who make less than $250,000 either pay the same or less with Obama’s policy.
FACT: McCain called the Bush tax cuts ‘unconsciousable’ and ‘unbalanced in favor of the wealthy’ when he voted against them.
FACT: McCain voted to KEEP the 39% tax rate he now calls names.
FACT: FACT: FACT: Barack Obama cuts taxes for 95% of Americans, including virtually everyone making less than $150,000.
Just tell the facts. Don’t let McCain or anyone else get away with talking points.

I am Joe the Dupe. I like that John McCain will tax me MORE than Obama, and because I hate socialism. Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid are SOCIALISM and must be DESTROYED. I do not want the 37% of corporations that paid no taxes last year to be taxed, because that would be WELFARE. Only hard-working Joes like me who make 40,000 a year should be taxed more.

QUESTION:
How many Americans make $250,000 a year or more?
QUESTION:
How many Americans would benefit from a middle class tax cut such as the one proposed by Barack Obama?

McCain:
“Joe’s the only person to get a real answer out of Senator Obama about his plans for our country. I think you all know very well that Joe didn’t ask for Senator Obama to come to his house. Joe certainly didn’t ask to be famous. He certainly didn’t ask for the political attacks on him from the Obama campaign.
Joe, if you’re watching, I’m sorry you’re being put through this. No American should be attacked for asking questions of a presidential candidate. No one.
We learned more about Senator Obama’s plans from Joe’s question than we’ve learned in months of speeches by Senator Obama. Joe has now reminded us all that we didn’t become the greatest nation on Earth by giving our money to the GOVERNMENT to “spread the wealth around”. In this country, we believe in spreading OPPORTUNITY for those who need jobs and those who create them.”
That is the formula that answers Obama, and McCain never really discovered it until Joe the Plumber made it obvious. The strength in the American economy comes from the private sector, not from welfare programs. While Joe Biden and Obama talk about reconstituting the Works Projects Administration, Joe and the rest of the taxpayers would like to hang onto the wealth they create and spread it around as they see fit, not as some bureaucrats in Washington would like — after taking a healthy share of it for themselves for massive bureaucracy and earmarks.
Government has a role in protecting opportunity, but not in dictating results. The former is wise governance of a free market, and the latter is socialism. Obama’s Socialism presumes that property belongs to the government first, not to those who own it, and that government has the right to transfer property to whomever they select as stewards of it.

Can I get nit-picky too?
Joe Not-really-a-plumber choose to misrepresented himself in several ways when he talked to Barack Obama.
He said he was about to purchase a business that made $250,000 a year (exactly?) and wanted to know if his taxes would go up.
Let us count the deceptions here:
1. Joe has since said (to UP) that he has no good plan to buy this business.
2. The business in question does less than $100,000 a year in sales.
3. Taxes on a small business apply to net profit, not income. A business with $100,000 in sales is going to make less than half that in profit.
Now I know this guy is just an ordinary citizen with an OPINION and a question, but that doesn’t mean he has less responsibility to be truthful.
Truth counts.

On taxes, it seems that McCain is the only person who can claim that he cuts taxes on every individual, while Zero raises taxes on anyone/couple filing more than $110K gross income.
Why do you prefer for the government to tax more from most individuals (not the so-called top 5% that Zero has lied to you).
Maybe, for those of you making less, you got less tax cut in absolute dollar amount than the rich, but you still get a greater percentage of tax cut than the rich.
It just happens that 1% of $1 million ($10,000) is a lot more than 10% of $20K (2,000).
If Zero uses 1% of his Harvard smart to explain what profit margin and net profits are, you probably would have not so disappointed. But, it would have exposed his lies, wouldn’t it?

Senator McCain – Meet JOE Biden, the next VP of the United States.
Posted by: Paige | October 20, 2008, 1:00 pm 1:00 pm
ABC News’ Matthew Jaffe Reports: Sen. Joe Biden, D-Del., on Sunday guaranteed that if elected, Sen. Barack Obama., D-Ill., will be tested by an international crisis within his first six months in power and he will need supporters to stand by him as he makes tough, and possibly unpopular, decisions.
“Mark my words,” the Democratic vice presidential nominee warned at the second of his two Seattle fundraisers Sunday. “It will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy. The world is looking. We’re about to elect a brilliant 47-year-old senator president of the United States of America. Remember I said it standing here if you don’t remember anything else I said. Watch, we’re gonna have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy.”
“I can give you at least four or five scenarios from where it might originate,” Biden said to Emerald City supporters, mentioning the Middle East and Russia as possibilities. “And he’s gonna need help. And the kind of help he’s gonna need is, he’s gonna need you – not financially to help him – we’re gonna need you to use your influence, your influence within the community, to stand with him. Because it’s not gonna be apparent initially, it’s not gonna be apparent that we’re right.”
Isn’t this an argument for electing someone with MORE EXPERIENCE!? Why should we elect a man who will EMBOLDEN OUR ENEMIES and push us to the brink of disaster? Biden seems convinced that electing John McCain will make our enemies abroad much less sanguine about provoking us — which is one of the best arguments yet heard for electing McCain.
Even worse, Biden admits that an Obama administration will likely FUMBLE THE BALL. “It’s not going to be apparent that we’re right.” Really? Why not? I’d say that Biden admits that Obama will deviate from long-held principles of American foreign policy and diplomacy, and expects to reap a whirlwind of disapproval because of that. Where will that be most likely to occur, given Obama’s previous political alliances with people like Rashid Khalidi?
Let’s not forget the example that Biden himself uses here. John Kennedy got tested because he met with Nikita Khrushchev with “no preconditions”. Kennedy acknowledged afterwards that it was an “unmitigated DISATER.”
What resulted? The Berlin Wall and the Cuban missile crisis. Kennedy wound up trading strategic intel and missile installations in western Asia in exchange for Soviet withdrawal of the nuclear missiles from Cuba. The entire Kennedy administration turned out to be a foreign-policy DISASTER that was only overlooked because of the tragic assassination of Kennedy in Dallas in 1963.

Too wound up in Troopergate, the Media ignores Speakergate.
Apparently, on Obama’s released tax records, he discloses income from speaking fees. The problem? Accepting payment for speaking fees when you’re a legislator is AGAINST Illinois state law.
Apparently, as an Illinois state legislator through 2004, Barack was PROHIBITED from taking honoraria for speaking under the Illinois Governmental Ethics Act.
But what about Barack Obama’s 2000 and 2002 tax returns?
2000: On his 2000 Schedule C-EZ, Barack reported that he received $16,500 as a “Foundation director/Educational speaker.”
2001: On his 2001 Schedule C-EZ, Barack reported $98,158 from a Chicago law firm, Miner, Barnhill, for “Legal services/attorney” (and nothing for speaking).
2002: On his 2002 Schedule C, Barack reported $34,491 for “LEGAL SERVCES / SPEAKING FEES.”
These “speaking fees” are in addition to the amounts that Barack was paid as an employee, a lecturer at the University of Chicago, reported on the first page of his 1040s.
That’s not change we can believe in.
Just to sum up, the media can find Joe the Plumber’s tax woes within 24 hours of his having dared to question The One’s narrative, but they can’t find a clear ethical violation in the released records of a man who has been campaigning for President for TWO YEARS now.
Another truth-telling moment brought to you by our fair and objective “tanning bed” news media.

for those who think that Joe the Plumber was a plant, you must be confused with ACORN or the Obama supporters who registered and voted in Ohio, by renting a group house and are now back studying at Oxford. Or the Obama campaign volunteer, who registered and voted on Oct 1 (after having arrived in Ohio on Sept 29) and used his host family’s address, without their permission, to register. http://palestra.net/blogs/read/17368
With the round-the-clock investigative reporting that has descended on Joe-the-Plumber, no one has yet claimed that he wasn’t living in that same neighborhood when Obama decided to go to his neighborhood.
I wish the same sleuths would descend on the Columbia University neighborhood and tell us something about Obama’s days in NYC, when he was using MJ and doing some “blow.” Or perhaps camp outside Bill Ayers’ house to find out when he first met Obama and whether they’ve ever discussed politics.

What do you suppose is the first thing that will happen if Obama raises taxes on business making $250K or more? Here’s a hint… the added expense will be passed down to the Joe the plumbers, Pete the burger flippers, Paul the mechanic, Suzie the waitress and anyone else working for these companies. YOU will see your starting salaries and raises decline, YOU will be forced to pick up a larger share company sponsored benefits, or loose some all together, etc, etc. John Q Customer will also pay the price (yes, that includes YOU) prices on YOUR goods and services from the companies will also go up. You have to ask yourself. Why do the expenses will be passed down?
So that the CEO and his staff can get their multi-million dollar bonuses at the end of the year.
So in essence you are saying. Since the ultra-rich are so greedy, they have to pass the buck to the folks who actually make stuff, who actually move this economy.
looks likes this the catch 22 but at least under an obama administration, the pressure is on the business owners to show their greed. I will be first to make light of the ultra-rich can’t tighten their belts like everyone else.

Scott, sounds like the same scare tactic that the republicans use when congress wants to raise minimum wage: Small businesses will go out of business – they will have to lay people off – prices will go up…..
Never happens though. So why should anyone believe the republicans now? Being correct is not one of their virtues.

NV-Sparkle………..On October 11, 2008, four days before the final presidential debate, Obama met residents in Wurzelbacher’s Ohio neighborhood.[1] Wurzelbacher, who had been playing football with his son in his front yard at the time, asked Obama about his tax plan.[2]
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joe_Wurzelbacher
Obama came to Joe’s neighborhood to get the message out that under an Obama regime the plan is to “Spread the Wealth around”.
Now you may not have the ambition to try and make something out of yourself which Joe the plumber has but maybe you can explain it to us why hard work and success will be penalized under Obama, eh?
Obama’s plan reminds me of a phrase I heard from another socialist, “Where no one will fail so that no one can succeed.” Chairman Mao.

Why I am voting Democrat!
I’m voting Democrat because I believe the government will do a better job of spending MY MONEY than I would. I think when you spread the wealth around it is good for everybody! It’s Patriotic!
I’m voting Democrat because I believe that business should not be allowed to make profits for themselves. All profits are evil and should be confiscated for Government Redistribution.
I’m voting Democrat because I believe that MORE Government regulations and higher taxes on Business will stop Business from exporting their jobs to Countries with LESS Government regulations and lower taxes.
I’m voting Democrat because I believe terrorists should be allowed to have trials in American courts. And be able to subpoena top secret documents, soldiers, government officials, etc. to cross examine for their defense. They should have ACLU lawyers who can help intimidate Americans who serve on the juries!
I’m voting Democrat because I believe Gay Marriage should be the law of the land and will probably produce better children.
I’m voting Democrat because I believe English should not be the official language of the United States. I don’t mind pushing one for English when I use the phone.
I’m voting Democrat because I believe partial birth abortion is okay but water boarding a terrorist is disgusting.
I’m voting Democrat because I believe having a domestic terrorist like Bill Ayers as a close friend is a good thing. It allows for great relations with foreign terrorists.
I’m voting Democrat because I believe in a FREE government health care system. I believe doctors, nurses, hospitals, drug companies, etc. will gladly donate their time, products, services, facilities, etc. for FREE and that will be a better system.
I’m voting Democrat because I believe in and support trial lawyers, frivolous lawsuits and outrageous jury verdicts.
I’m voting Democrat because I believe 9/11 was an inside job to con the American people to go to war for oil.
I’m voting Democrat because I believe social security is solvent and that there is a social security lock box and I don’t believe social security is a Ponzi scheme.
I’m voting Democrat because I believe MOST AMERICANS are bitter and cling to their guns and religion. Let’s rid our country of guns and religion!
I’m voting Democrat because I believe illegal aliens deserve all the rights of ordinary Americans plus some additional rights Americans do not have.
I’m voting Democrat because I believe corporations should pay higher taxes! I believe higher taxes on business will make the price of their products and services LESS EXPENSIVE.
I’m voting Democrat because I believe groups like ACORN who register felons, drug addicts, wino’s, homeless drifters, illegal aliens, dead people, children, fictional Disney characters, etc. makes my vote count more.
I’m voting Democrat because I believe celebrating the winter solstice shows compassion for the small minority of people that do not celebrate Christmas.
I’m voting Democrat because I believe hard core criminal murders and rapists deserve life and that the innocent unborn deserve death. It’s a choice I can live with.
I’m voting Democrat because I believe Bush caused Hurricane Katrina and he blew-up the levies in the ninth ward of New Orleans.
I’m voting Democrat because I believe that any one who is not partaking in one of the many wonderful government programs obviously has too much money and should pay higher taxes.
I’m voting Democrat because when we pull out of Iraq the terrorists will be happy and now think of us as good people.
I’m voting Democrat because I believe our soldiers are AIR RAIDING villages and killing innocent people.
I’m voting Democrat because I believe sex in the Oval Office with an intern is a private matter and that everybody lies under oath about sex.
I’m votin Demokrat becuse I wus edumkated at a publick sckrool. I lik da Natsionel Edukatshun Assoseeashun!
I’m voting Democrat because freedom of speech is fine as long as it does not offend people. Can’t we all just get along?
I’m voting Democrat because I believe oil companies’ profits are wrong. I believe higher taxes on oil companies will produce lower prices at the pump.
I’m voting Democrat because I believe we need to rid ourselves of dependency on foreign oil, BUT I AM AGAINST offshore drilling for oil and natural gas, drilling in Anwar, building nuclear power plants and clean coal technology.
And finally, I’m voting Democrat because I believe Reverend Wright when he said “GODDAMN AMERICA” and “OUR CHICKENS ARE COMING HOME TO ROOST”. Hey let’s make a comfortable nest for those chickens!
Why are you voting Democrat?

Lets say my taxes pay for 1 mile of a highway. Your’s pay for 20 ft of the same highway. We both drive the same amount on that highway.
Now why should I pay for 1 mile and 15 ft so that you will only have to pay for 5 ft of highway?
Worse yet, some are paying nothing for that highway. Why should I give them money to drive on the highway I paid for?
How about a thanks for that highway under your car. The “government” didn’t pay for it, I DID!

No, the new Joes are the ones working for these companies making $250K or more a year; you know the 95% that Obama intends to give tax breaks to. They will need the tax break, just to break even when the tax hike on the companies is passed down to them.
Posted by: Scott | October 20, 2008, 1:54 pm 1:54 pm
Joe (Samuel) the unlicensed Plumber is a fool to vote republican, he would pay much less taxes under Obama’s plan. He makes 40-60K per year, is not anywhere close to buying a 250K business. Wonder what he is doing to pay for his health insurance, does his employer provide it? He is the sole employee. Obama’s Health Plan is 10 times better than McCain’s. McCain would tax small business owners for providing health care. Joe is much better with a democrat as a president, remember the Clinton years, the economy did not suck, there were plenty jobs, there were For Hire boards everywhere …

Sounds very familiar.
Zero promoted Bush’s $600 cash giveaways, called it “economic stimulus”. His congressional leaders who wanted so bad to select him such that they will do anything to support Zero. Therefore, they are so happy to cast a “bipartisian” package.
At the same time, Zero’s then opponent Hillary Clinton proposed to use that $300 billion to target on banking and mortgage meltdowns, only to be brushed aside by congressional leaders and ridiculed by Zero. This was one year ago.
We know for sure, 100% sure, that Zero’s “vision” turned out to be another boneheaded mistake that led to the stockmarket crash, and 50% lower in your retirement accounts.
You will never know, but it might, just might, HRC’s plan have saved the financial sectors meltdown, which is known the #1 economic problem today.
It is yet another judgment mistake that Zero showed.

Below-Average “American” Mom
The reason I a voting for Barack Obama is because his a proven leader.
He is someone who leads by example, Obama knows the grass roots is where the change begins.
McCain has no grass roots. All he has are the same folks who done him in in 2000 running his campaign righ now.
Obama has risen above all the rancor and McCaint is dishing it out.
Obama has surrounded himself with capable folks who have proven to get the job done.
McCain has surrounded himself with lobbyist and a unknown moose shooter from wasilla.
Obama has the smarts and the judgement to guide this country
McCain has neither.

And the reason you tax the rich now, is because they have the money. They screwed up the country, so they get to pay for it getting fixed. Sounds pretty simple to me.

At least three voters have reported that voting machines used in West Virginia refuse to accept a vote for Obama and switched it to McCain. The poll worker said to touch the screen more lightly. He or she might as well have said: “Stand on your left foot and insert your right index finger into your nose while touching the screen with your left pinky.” If the software doesn’t work, touching the screen differently is not likely to make any difference. Problems like this (the wrong box being checked after someone touches the screen) are easy to detect. What is impossible to detect is a machine that displays the vote as the voter intended but counts it for a different candidate internally.

Scott,
Let’s focus on YOUR answer to MY question – How do you figure McCain won’t raise my taxes, when his own website says that he will tax employer-paid health insurance? If that benefit becomes taxable, that raises the amount of income that is taxable and pushes many of us into the next higher bracket …. though not high enough to qualify for the tax loopholes. Any answers to THAT?

Okay, Francheska the Network Analyst… So, you’re okay with CUTBACKS that will affect YOUR SALARY AND/OR BENEFITS directly when the company you work for passes the Obama tax increase back down to YOU, and the business that YOU patronize INCREASE COSTS TO YOU to cover their tax increases? OR you already own the company and are just fine with paying higher taxes since you will just pass them down… OR you are a consultant and would be OKAY when consulting slows down or you get paid less per contract as a reault of the Obama Tax Hikes?
Posted by: Scott | October 20, 2008, 2:15 pm 2:15 pm
Angie.
Don’t agree with McCains HCP. But obama’s is a VERY bad idea. We have a government HCP now, it’s called medicaid.
Talk about abuse. I have heard time after time a medicaid patient say they’re not going to the clinic because the clinic wants a $3.00 copay. “I came to the ER because it’s free”.
Problem is, medicaid (the government-ie the tax payers) just got billed $500.00. But hey, that medicaid patient saved $3.00.
Also, see how quick you get that medicaid patient who has chronic back pain in with a neurosurgeon. It may take 6 months (if they accept medicaid patients at all).

Someone responded to your post previously. Do you have trouble with reading comprehension?
Posted by: Mack | October 20, 2008, 2:16 pm 2:16 pm
If you actually believe the Obama / Biden / Pelosi / Stalin Administration will cut taxes, I’d like to talk to you about a timeshare opportunity in a bridge to nowhere.
Sen. Obama, experience matters. I have made many mistakes in my short life. It is true, when I
think about it, that each of those mistakes are among my greatest assets with respect to decision
making, each and every one of them. This is because we all learn from our mistakes. At all times,
I believe the best of my judgment is anchored in the cement that is my experience. I believe
firmly that the longer I live, the more I will have experienced, and the better my judgment will
be, on the balance. Sen. Obama, do you really believe that you have made enough mistakes to be the
next President of the United States? Many say that you won’t make the same mistakes that others
have made because of your sound judgement. The only thing, Senator, is that there still remain
many mistakes yet to be written into this planet’s history books. You won’t always have the
benefit of others experience, you’ll have to leverage your own experience and you have too little
on which to base your judgement. I respect your ambition. I respect your charisma. I embrace your
place in history, but I do not believe you have sufficient experience to lead this planet, not
even close.
America, since the mainstream media has failed to examine Sen. Obamas experience and lack of
experience, you will have to determine for yourselves what exactly is Sen. Obamas experience?
What did he accomplish in the Illinois legislature? He was only there for a handful of years. What
did he promise he would accomplish? What did he accomplish in the U.S. Senate? He has only been on
the job as a U.S. Senator for 1xx days. What did he promise he would accomplish? What has he
changed in this world? This country? The Presidency of the United States is an executive position
Sen. Obama. Do you have any executive experience? Have you created a budget, negotiated a budget,
revised a budget or managed adherence to a budget?
Sen. Obama insists on presenting Sen. McCains experience as being only an puppet of the Bush
administration. I saw Senator McCain stand up to President Bushs Defense Secretary. He stood in
a
manner that no other did. He changed the course of the war in Iraq. What percentage of all GOP
legislative votes sided with President Bushs? What percentage of all Democrat legislative votes
sided with Presidents Clinton, Carter and Johnsons policies? I have no idea, but Id venture
to
guess that, had the media presented that information to the American public, wed find rank and
file partisanship throughout our recent history. How many Americans would be surprise by that?
Well Senator Obama, you might be able to claim that you did not support the Iraq war resolution,
but what can you offer as proof that it was the right decision at that moment in our history? You
were after all in the small minority. Our country was after all reeling from the worst terror
attack in our nations history. How would history have judged President Bush had he not led our
troops into Iraq and then, a massive terror attack occurred yesterday, perpetrated by terrorists
that lived and trained in Iraq over the past few years, with or without knowledge of Saddam
Hussein? I think about it this way: history failed to present enough evidence to push the World to
coalesce and intervene in 1930s Europe. But modern history is 100% clear on that point, it would
have been the correct decision. History might well judge the Iraq war to be not a right decision.
History will judge the Bush administration on many points. One of those may even record it, in
part, as a series of lapses in the judgment of a young President, swayed by the belief and
conviction of an older, seasoned Vice President and the overwhelming circumstances of a world that
had changed dramatically, in an instant. I agree with you Sen. Obama that we don’t need another
eight years of the Bush Administration, we dont need another eight years of an inexperienced
President.
Mr. Gibson, Ms. Couric, Ms. Behar, Ms. Mitchell, Mr. Matthews … you do not get to dismantle the
American vote. You and your colleagues might think you have the power to micro-filter
democracys
messages to your liking, but you do not get to dismantle the American vote. You might think you
have the power to subtly, and not so subtly promote and gather others to blindly promote one
candidacy, while casting another in the least flattering manner possible, but you do not get to
dismantle the American vote. You do not get to dismantle Americas vote. The mainstream media
bias
in this election is at best described as repugnant and at worst, a slap to the face of democracy;
an assault on the moral and righteous ideal that all American voters should be free to construct
their vote on the basis of readily available, factually complete, accurate, relevant and unbiased
fact. It is my opinion that, during this election cycle more than any other I have witnessed, the
mainstream media has failed millions of Americans who rely on them, as a basis for constructing
their vote. Am I wrong? I might be wrong, but Ill ask you, the American voters to decide that
for
yourself, by asking yourself some questions. Questions such as why was so much time spent this
election cycle mining for dirt in Alaska, why was so little time was spent tracking laundry in
Illinois? Why has the mainstream media spent so little time illuminating the razor thin experience
that the junior Senator from Illinois maintains as his credentials? Indeed, if the media was
prepared to be fair and honest, they would have been able to report, with incontrovertible
confidence, that they were reporting fact, that the candidate having the most experience directly
relevant to the position of the Presidency of the United States is actually the candidate that has
been relentlessly attacked by the media, both personally and professionally. The mainstream media
owes an apology to American Democracy for its treatment of Gov. Palin. Why is it, that after
finally deciding to give minimal airtime to the ACORN voter registration fraud issue, was it not
mentioned that Sen. Obamas campaign funded ACORN? Sen. Obama, in my mind, there is no
distinction
between committing voter registration fraud, serving as impetus to commit voter registration fraud
or funding those serving as impetus to commit voter registration fraud. During the last debate,
you did a fine job of distancing yourself from ACORN, but you failed to directly confront and
condemn those that perpetrate or encourage voter registration fraud. You had a nationwide
audience, and you chose not to act.
The President is the commander in chief of the United States Armed Forces. That is a serious
responsibility. I question how you can expect us to believe that you will effectively maintain the
morale, skill and competence of our forces after you have insulted them (I have a friend that is
an Army Reservist. He is deploying, again, to Iraq. He has a wife, a son and a daughter. He
does not serve so that he can kill children and raid villages Senator). What will serve as your
experiential basis for leading the U.S. Military? Do you have any military experience at all? Have
you ever served in ROTC? Did you at least play with the little green plastic troops when you
lived in Hawaii? Do you know firsthand the horrors of war? I believe that firsthand knowledge and
experience is the most critical element one can use in formulating decisions, including the
determination of when to and when not to deploy U.S. Military forces. Sen. McCain has that
experience. That I know. That he has shown. The media cant take that away from him.
With regard to foreign policy experience, do you think you are qualified to navigate the most
powerful democracy the world knows during a time when the fundamentals of democracy are very much
under attack? Are you ready to face Mr. Putin? Mr. Chavez? Kim Jung mentally Ill? China? Iran? Are
you ready to answer the 03:00 phone call? What experience do you have that I should judge gives
you readiness? What is that experience? What foreign leaders have you negotiated with directly?
What treaties have you signed? The media has presented none and neither have you. I have a good
number of stamps in my passport Sen. Obama. I lived and worked in Germany for a brief period. Sen.
Obama, I am not qualified by a longshot to make United States foreign policy, and you may only be
marginally more qualified than I.
The oratorical is no substitute for judgment or experience Senator Obama. I do not believe that
you have the experience to be President of our country. Experience matters Sen. Obama, and you are
not ready, you have not made enough mistakes. But most glaring to me, Senator Obama is the one
mistake that you seem willing to make over and over and it is the worst mistake one can make. That
mistake is the action of not owning and learning from ones mistakes. The surge worked Senator.
Sen. Obama, you claim that you will cut taxes on 95% of all Americans. Is that true? Or let me
rephrase, how can that be true? You told the voters of Illinois that you would cut taxes, but you
have failed to do so in the U.S. Senate. Did you even try? Did you present a bill? Were it a
committee issue did you encourage your peers to present one? Have you ever voted for a tax cut?
What did you mean Senator Obama when you told Plumber Joe that you wanted to spread the wealth? Do
you mean that you want to take money from Joe and give it to those with less money? Your running
mate, Sen. Biden has commented that you would not be taxing additionaly those making under
$250,000 a year. Sen. Biden commented that he knows no plumbers that make over $250,000 a year. I
think that those who claim your tax policies embody class warfare are wrong. Wrong, because the
policies are class warfare policies, but they are not directed against the haves, they are
directed against the have-nots. Senator Biden, you may well be correct that few plumbers earn over
$250,000 a year, but some that own plumbing contracting businesses probably do. What do those that
spin your message have planned to say to that one plumber out of maybe six or seven that was
employed by a plumbing company, but was laid off, because business is slow, new homes werent
being built and President Obamas tax increase forced the owner of the plumbing business to lay
her off? The owner tried every angle possible, but was forced to make a tough decision. They were
faced with the prospect of either making a tough decision or risk running the entire operation
into financial distress and end up having to close operations and fire all workers? I guess
youd
have Mr. Burton tell her that, even though she has no job, she does at least still have access to
affordable healthcare? Senator Obama what will you say to the still unemployed plumber in Ohio,
father of two, that nearly had a job secured, the owner had just signed a good contract for a
small building and he was ready to hire that plumber, but learned from his accountant, that
President Obamas, Speaker Pelosi and Senator Reid’s tax increase has made it not possible to
hire
another employee? I guess youd have Mr. Burton tell that plumber, that even though he still has
no job, he does have a lower tax rate applied against his $0.00 income.
Sen. Obama, you have stated over and over that Sen. McCain supports tax breaks for corporations
that send their jobs overseas. The media has not reported on this one way or another, but if you
are correct, then I commend Sen. McCain for doing so. What you dont get, Sen. Obama, or perhaps
dont want the American public to get, is that income taxes, to a for profit enterprise are
expenses not much different from the costs of raw materials and salary expenses for purposes of
this discussion. All else equal, ladies and gentleman, a corporation will locate itself, and its
jobs, or begin to locate itself and its jobs, in areas where it is least penalized in terms of
taxes. This is how for profit American corporations behave and this is how they must behave. Their
competitors are operating in that manner, continually scouring expenses to search for reduction
opportunities. They have to. If they do not, they will be at a cost disadvantage and if their
tactical errors are sustained, they may well go out of business in which case, even those jobs
which remain in the United States, could also disappear. Even if the company does not fail
entirely, some jobs may be eliminated, and chances are great that the highest cost jobs would be
targeted first. Sen. Obama, America is not a low cost country, in these circumstances, high cost
American jobs would be targeted first, all else equal. When those jobs are cut Sen. Obama, those
finding themselves newly unemployed will not have money to support the ‘under $250k’ crowd…they
won’t have money to support small businesses…is it sinking in at all?
Your position of not supporting tax breaks for corporations that export jobs overseas, indeed,
only encourages them, at the margin, to further export jobs, or slow their job creation in the
United States or end their job creation in the United States. This is global economic reality. The
media can not distort this fact for you. At the final debate, I heard you add a carrot to your
plans. You pulled that same tax string attached to the back of your head and out came the message
your handlers have planted in you, that message you think the voters want to hear. I was laughing
a bit, but if I understand you correctly, youll give tax credits to corporations that create
jobs
in America. In case you dont know Senator Obama, this already happens today at the state and
local level all across America. Have you thought about how much additionaly, it will cost the U.S.
Treasury to employ workers, in an audit fashion, in order to verify which of all the xx million
jobs that corporations claim they created, were actually created or do actually exist? What are
the time constraints? How long must they keep the job filled in order to receive the credit? What
would happen when that timeframe passes? Let me point this out to my fellow voters. Senator Obama
wants to first keep tax rates on corporations high or raise them thereby encouraging employers
large and small to export their operations and jobs – and then at the same time he wants to
turnaround and give them a tax credit for jobs they create? Senator, or maybe I should be
addressing your advisers, you do realize that the two are policy opposites dont you? It looks
to
me that you might be trying to convince us that it would be a good idea to spend more on
government for an unknown expected net job decrease/increase. If you can convince us that those
are winning policies Senator Obama, then Id suggest you save us all some trouble, sell the
American voters a bridge to nowhere and retire, pen some books, give some speeches. Indeed, your
tax policy is bigger government, bigger IRS, more regulatory burden on American corporations and
more administrative overhead makes them less competitive in the global market and less likely to
employ. It is not the right policy Senator Obama, not by a long shot.
Go back to the Senate and accomplish something Sen. Obama. Your candidacy is an insult to America.
ps, the verdict has been in for decades on the effectiveness of spreading the wealth policies. Go
visit an American Indian Reservation Sen. Obama. The only thing that has changed for the past
several decades is the faces of the Washington politicians that have redistributed wealth to us.
Do you have any clue what the average unemployment rate is in Indian Country Sen.Obama? Illicit
drug use rate? Teen pregnancy rate? Suicide rate? Pick a rate Senator.

2. Jobs to vanish or go overseas
Tax the rich so they will hide their money in Swiss banks than investing it to create jobs.
3. Your Home sale price to plunge
And you pay 38% taxes on Home sales to give Zero spread around.
4. Spend 10 billion a month on Iraq instead of here at home.
You mean Afghanistan?
5. Have the govt listen to all our phone calls
Zero voted for it, while McCain and HRC voted against it.
6. Pay $1000 or more each moth for decent health insurance

To those of you who want to know who makes $250K anyway…certainly not a plumber?! Um…you either MAKE $250K, work for someone who does (when was the last time a poor person gave you a job?), get goods and services from someone who does, or if you have a 401K, you most certainly are invested in someone who does!! If you tax everyone to death, they take their business out of the US; go out of business; lay people off; raise their prices, etc. So, with taxes, the numbers on your paycheck go down, and when businesses feel the crunch, the numbers in your 401K go down. EVERYONE is affected!

McCain is using the PT Barnum approach to politics. Joe is not Joe, he is Sam. This whole episode was a Fox News set-up. The Wurzelbacher story is McCain’s staged fantasy. He’s not a licensed plumber in Ohio, according to state records, but his boss, is. Ohio law requires a plumber get a local license. Furthermore Wurzelberger’s estimated that the business makes between $250,000 and $280,000 a year to make his tall tale more interesting. Well, media investigators found that the business’ estimated total annual revenue was about $100,000. Even if its income reached above $250,000, Obama’s higher rate would only apply to net income above that level. To top it all off, Wurzelberger said he has no clear plans to buy the company anytime soon. McCain spins the tall tales of Joe the Plumber to hide the truth. McCain wants to make permanent the Bush tax cuts for the very wealthy 1% of the nation and give $4 Billion in tax cuts to Big Oil. McCain wants to spread the wealth from the the poor and middle class to the rich through failed Trickle Down economics and the new socialism of bailing out failing banks with taxpayer dollars. PT Barnum said there is a sucker born every minute. If you believe Joe is real, McCain wants your vote.

In my opinion, Powell took his revenge of making him fool in the U. N. Security Council by the Bush-Cheney-Rumsfeld gang. There is rumour in the highest circle that many remaining Bush cabinet members including Condilisa Rice, who were not in the loop but have been scapegot by the gang are planning to resign from the sinking ship as early as this weekend!
Powell might have given fresh air to many Republicans, who are fade-up with the Bush policies but cannot come out and vote against are free to vote now but Powell did the magic to 4 million Muslims, who have been rediculed not only by McCain but Obama, Hillary and Democrats too have got some respect from Powell and are ready to stand up for Obama considering the views of Powell and his association with Obama’s team.

I don’t have anything against plumber Joe thinking about going into business for himself, but unless he has a rich uncle we haven’t heard about, he has about as much chance of buying a company that can produce a quarter million a year in profits as I do of convincing Palin to vote for Obama.
I suspect Joe hasn’t really looked at the numbers. If he did, he’d see the multi-million loan he’d need is a bridge too far. And I suspect if he looked at the numbers in the competing tax plans, he’d also realize that Obama’s wouldn’t hurt him.

How sad that an ordinary hard working American cannot ask a polititian a pertinant question without having their lives turned upside down. How about the women in Lufkin, Texas who told an Obama volunteer than she would not support a man that would leave live babies to die from late term abortions? The women then finds Secret Service on her doorstep as a result of the volunteer accusing her of threatening Obama’s life. Really? No proof, no recording of the call, just a liberal volunteer with her panties in a wad because someone had the NERVE to insult the LIBERAL’s (so called) messiah. This has been the pattern. Sarah Palin comes on the scene. She is a big threat. Liberals attack her as they have NEVER EVER attacked another politition. Joe the Plumber steps up with an honest question. Hey folks, I could care LESS if this man has a plumber’s license. If you are seeking the TRUTH, you would not care either. He is a plumber. You don’t need a personal license if you work for someone else. Do you even CARE about that FACT? And what if he did not have an IMMEDIATE plan to buy a company? Have you ever heard of dreams? Did you ever talk about going to Hollywood or acting on Broadway or being a rock star? How often do those dreams become reality? Not often. But do we cease to dream and hope? Is it a lie when we share with others our hopes of having the American dream? Not unless you share them with Barack Hussein Obama. What you write about Joe W. (that still has some shred of the American work ethic and integrity) is appalling. I have only one more thing to say. You are not seeking the truth, you don’t want the truth, and as Jack Nicholson would say, “you can’t handle the truth”.

WASHINGTON — Colin Powell, nominated to be secretary of state, rejected any suggestion that he did “something untoward” in accepting a speaking fee arranged by Lebanese Deputy Prime Minister Issam Fares.
And in Lebanon, Fares also lashed out at the reports, calling them “distortions and lies” from America’s “Zionist lobby.”

geevill – progressive tax rates spread the wealth, and both parties have advocated them for decades. The question is how much – how you set the rates.
Obama clearly is indicating that he thinks the Bush tax rates favored the rich too much.
The simple fact is that if Obama proposed his plan before the Bush Administration, we all might suspect it was a Republican plan.

Listen, My husband and each have careers. Last year we took equity out of our home to also start our own business, which is an LLC. We hoped to someday retire from our current jobs while our business grows. With Obama in office we will not have that dream, we will have to shut down our business an possibly loose that $$ that we took out in equity of our home. We would have over $250K in income from our jobs and our business, so our taxes would be increased. We would also have to pay for insurance or pay a fine for our one employee. The only way we could stay in business is if those who receive a ‘rebate’ redistribute their winnings back to us so we can continue to keep our employee and our business. We are Middle class with a dream– We are middle class with the capability of working hard for what we want and are achieving it… to have it all taken it away with the wrong person in the office. Palin utters the Socialist world but she herself had some pretty socialists deeds in Alaska too.
She signed into law a ‘windfall profit tax’ on oil companies in Alaska, that all republicans used to call it socialism in the US congress this summer.
Those money (aboul $3000 per capita) go to every Alaskan regardless if they earn $0.00, $20,000.00 or millions.
Call that what you want, but if that is not a wellfare state I don’t know what it is.
To add insult to the injury, Bush, McCain, and the republicans just gave oil companies billions in tax breaks.
Some of these tax breaks (your money if you live in the ‘lower 48′) are used to pay Alaska citizens. That’s called spreading the wealth.
And don’t get me started on earmarks going from us to Alaska thanks to uncle Ted Stevens.

SmallBusiness4MAC: “We would have over $250K in income from our jobs and our business, so our taxes would be increased. We would also have to pay for insurance or pay a fine for our one employee.”
From what I understand, small businesses are exempted from the health insurance mandate under Obama’s health plan, and as for the increased taxes:
If you make exactly $250k you’ll pay exactly the same rate you pay now. If you make more than $250k you’ll pay an additional 3 percent on any amount over that $250k.
In other words, if you make $250,001, your additional taxes over right now would be 3 cents.
Also, if you are thinking of making this kind of money and set up as an LLC, then you should shop for another accountant. Because everything passes through to your personal taxes, LLCs work best for businesses that on paper lose money – like the realestate rental business. If you’re making those kinds of profits, probably should have set up as an S-Corp or something like that.
Either way, understand that only the profits are taxed. That’s revenue minus operating expenses and depreciation of any assets. If you’re making more profit than that, sorry, but I’m not sympathetic as to your inability to pay the extra 3 percent.
Besides, its easy enough to hide those profits through company growth expenditures anyway.

You don’t seem to understand how an LLC works. I’ve got one.
The profits pass through to your personal taxes, whether you “pay” yourself or not. So do the losses. LLCs are great tax shelters for businesses that own property, but not so great for businesses in which the profits can’t be hidden.

I’m sorry. I’m just surprised no one has commented on this. Good or bad, for or against either mccain or obama. So here it goes again:
Lets say my taxes pay for 1 mile of a highway. Your’s pay for 20 ft of the same highway. We both drive the same amount on that highway.
Now why should I pay for 1 mile and 15 ft so that you will only have to pay for 5 ft of highway?
Worse yet, some are paying nothing for that highway. Why should I give them money to drive on the highway I paid for?
How about a thanks for that highway under your car. The “government” didn’t pay for it, I DID!

I’m happy to say thanks to the guy who paid for the 10 miles I didn’t pay for but I’m using.
I’m not expecting him to pay for 11.5 miles so I only have to pay for 1/2 mile.

JWS – actually that sounds pretty Libertarian, rather than Republican.
In response to the comment about how the government didn’t pay for it, you did. Well, maybe you did. Or maybe the Chinese did with a loan that adds to our national debt. Or maybe it was the Russians who did, etc.
Or maybe it was revenues from the gas tax that did – you know, the one that isn’t progressive, and goes to transportation funding – the same one McCain wanted to suspend in a previous campaign gimmick.

Watching McCain’s campaign is like watching a side show at a circus. You never know what they’re going to drag out next!!!
Think about it. With all of the wishy-washy stunts he’s pulled during his campaign, what on earth makes anyone think he’ll be a “steady hand at the tiller” if he gets elected??
The man is a flip-flopper of the highest degree and Palin is like a court jester fresh out of the clown car.

SmallBusiness4MAC: “When you file personal federal income tax with a LLC it is gross income verses gross profit.”
Sorry, doesn’t work that way.
First off, you have to file LLC taxes prior to your personal taxes. There’s no cash transaction involved, but it establishes your pass through value. I believe the forms are called a 1096 and K1 for each partner.
Then on your personal taxes, you account for the numbers there.
The LLC tax forms account for all your profits and all your operating expenses. What passes through is one minus the other; except for anything that falls under capital gains.

Its amazing that the repug retards doesnt realise that McCain is just as ‘socialist’ by their definition.
McCains health care tax rebates will also be payed to people WHO DOESNT PAY TAX! That means McCain takes your tax dollars and gives it away, i guess you could call that socialist welfare.

I love omentum’s comment. McCain is desperate. I’m sure he and Sarah can find someone that’s down and out who they can pay to be another fake Joe. They called Joe to tell him Obama was in the neighborhood setting him up. Now the IRS is after him and the board of state licenses. Division and hate breed bad karma.

SmallBus – but let’s say you really do have a business (hopefully your husband or an accountant or maybe TurboTax for Business is handling the taxes, because I simply don’t believe you understand them).
So you make over $250k a year. You do realize the only thing Obama would hit you on is an extra 3 percent on the amount over $250.
That’s the way progressive taxes work, and always have. Your first x amount is taxed at the lowest rate, next x amount is taxed at the next lowest, etc.
But you’ve said before you are hoping to build the business to the point where it can replace your incomes.
In that case, you are trying to expand or increase sales (whichever is applicable to your kind of business) and the very activities that go into these kinds of efforts also decrease your profits, meaning it lowers your taxes in the nearterm.
In other words, if trying to expand a business, you probably aren’t making $250k in profit anymore. If you are, you might ask yourself exactly how you are trying to expand.
Employees cost money. Advertising costs money. Buying stock or property costs money. More equipment means more depreciation, etc.

Nor was my education.
I left a $4.50 hr job detailing cars to go to college. Same opportunity everyone else has.
I’ll pay my part of the taxes. But realize I also pay the taxes for 10-12 other people. Just tired of it being pissed away and the government (both sides) always coming back wanting more.

I find it laughable that McCain doesn’t even take the time to research “Joe the Plumber” before mentioning him 26 times in the 3rd and final debate. If he can’t even do the research for his debates, I shutter to think what he won’t research when it comes down to the economy, and the wars in Iran and Iraq.
Also, if he acts like such a pompass jerk during these debates, I wonder how he would come across to foreign heads of state when they didn’t agree with him. Would he just try to belittle them and treat them as if he was so much better? Somehow, I don’t think that will help us handle the issues facing our nation.

I make under 13000 a year and I am against Obamas tax plan because I am going to school in hopes of one day making over 250,000 a year and the way i see it if the people that make under 250k a year want more money then they need to go back to school and get a job that pays better that is the American way
Posted by: Caleb | October 20, 2008, 4:38 pm 4:38 pm
d0. You do not make sense. You are only looking at the tax cuts but not the prices of products going up. The rich, no matter a 3% change up or down, will be fine. But guess what d0, they won’t be fine if the middle class citizens can’t buy nothing. You need to take an economics class. The middle class runs the society if you already can’t tell by now. The market is going down because people can’t afford nothing. They can’t afford a house, a car or student loans.
And the middle class is scared to make a move because one slip up and they will loose their house. Why don’t you think outside the box sometimes.
McCain plan does sound good but creating jobs is not the only problem. Trust me, if the rich gets richer and the poorer gets poorer, a lot of businesses will either run outside the country or close and then America will be at its worst.
Call it Socialism if you want, but America is a community, nobody can be on top if there is nothing on the bottom to support it.
Let’s stop being selfish, it’s not that much money in the world to watch people’s lives fall apart or decide between who to pay, electric co, gas co, or house loan, or groceries.

This is ridiculous. Some of you people are heartless. I paid for 1 mile and you paid 15 ft. Here’s the thing, if all I can afford to give you is 15 ft, then be glad I am putting something down. If I could offer more, I would.
And to the other Joe, if you see a nation with more irresponsible people than responsible people in it, do you punish them all. Do you blame a child who wants to educate himself. Do you blame a man who needs a place to live. Do you blame a person who gets a car to search for more opportunities out there for themselves. For people like me who is struggling at 24 at a full time job with a college degree and can’t find a job or an affordable place, I guess I’m being responsible by not having at least an apartment to live in.

What are these things that Biden says Obama is planning on doing that they’re not telling anyone about? “We’re going to have to do things that you think are completely wrong, and go against your gut, but you have to trust us, I mean, don’t question us, just stick with us through this and it is going to be better in the end.” Makes me feel like a victim in the SAW movies… “we’re going to have to take your kidneys to sell them to someone else, but don’t worry, we’ll leave you in a bathtub full of ice and we’ll call the paramedics on the way out.”

Whether obama or mccain does it (or doesn’t), how significant is $800-900 (what?, about $15.00 week) less taxes to someone who makes ~$40K a year. Is that ‘really-truly’ going to make a huge impact on their life and future?
Washington (both parties, the white house and congress) no longer represent “the people”. Over 80% of the population (both parties) were against the recent 700 billion bailout.
Our/your government didn’t what the “people” wanted. They all are serving their own aggenda.
No matter who gets in they should have constant pressure to do what the majority of the population wants.
Mr mccain nor obama know what’s best for me or you.

If you can’t pay for your 15 ft of highway that’s fine. I’ll pay for it. Hell, jump in the car and I’ll drive you down the road.
But I’ll make that choice. I don’t need obama or mccain forcing me to because they think I should.
Otherwise, I’ll quit my job and walk in the ditch and there won’t be a road.
The walk will do me good.

Funny how the republicans manage to make biggots of themselves over and over again. Zero experience running a government, zero experience running a business, zero experience negotiating with foreign leaders, a proud record of voting present in a state legislature, 1xx days in the senate and, wow, ghee whiz, I think I’m ready to run the most powerful country in the world. He is far less qualified than Gov. Palin to lead this country.
Educated? Sure. What has it provided him? Judgment that thought it would be a good idea to sit in the church of a racist pastor for years. Judgment that thought that it was a good idea to ‘advise’ a community group that used the CRA to bully banks into making home loans to those that were incapable of paying them back (root cause of the credit market meltdown is bad home debt). What did he accomplish on the board he sat on with Mr. Ayers? What did he change in Chicago education? ZERO? or Less than ZERO!
btw, though I think we might be stupied enough to elect him, I am not so worried his campaign pledges being implemented. He’s strong on rhetoric, but doesn’t deliver. His best track record is that of failing to deliver what he promises. I can hardly wait to see him try to ‘speech’ the middle east into peace, russia into acting like a relevant country. Can u say deer in the headlights?
0bama’s candidacy is an insult to American voters.
I wonder if 1xx days into office….is he going to declare his candidacy for President of the Planet?

Lets compare Obam’s plan and McCain’s plan.
According to the Tax Policy Center analysis:
McCain’s economic plan will increase deficit by $5 trillion
Obama’s economic plan will increase deficit by $3.5 trillion
A non partisan think tank (Urban Institute):
Obama would give larger tax cuts to low- and moderate-income households.
And Obama’s health care proposal contains the basic components necessary for effectively addressing the most important shortcomings of the current health care system, that is, limited coverage, inadequate risk pooling, and high-cost growth.
McCain would give the biggest cuts to the highest-income households.
And McCain’s health care proposal would dramatically change how many Americans obtain health insurance coverage, make coverage less accessible for those with health problems, have a high budget cost, but have little effect on the number uninsured.
OBAMA: “I’m not giving tax cuts to folks who don’t work, I’m giving tax cuts to people who do work. John McCain is so out of touch with the struggles you are facing that he must be the first politician in history to call a tax cut for working people ‘welfare.’”
“The only ‘welfare’ in this campaign is John McCain’s plan to give another $200 billion in tax cuts to the wealthiest corporations in America – including $4 billion in tax breaks to big oil companies that ran up record profits under George Bush. That’s who John McCain is fighting for.”
OBAMA: Will cut taxes for 95% of all working people and businesses making less than $250, 000.
FACT: IRS data show that 97% of tax filers make less than $200,000 and 95% of small businesses make less than $200,000.
Also, Obama will give tax credits to any business that creates jobs in America, promoting creation of wealth in America, whereas McCain will give tax credits to businesses that ship American jobs to other countries, promoting shuffling of wealth out of America to other countries.

The results of an August 2003 final technical report of the Chicago Annenberg Research Project by the Consortium on Chicago School Research “suggest that among the schools it supported, the Challenge had little impact on school improvement and student outcomes, with no statistically significant differences between Annenberg and non-Annenberg schools in rates of achievement gain, classroom behavior, student self-efficacy, and social competence.”
This after redistributing millions of wealth into the Chicago public school system…way to go O$ama!!! You are going to be a very effective President.

Ludmila,
you need to take a macroeconomic course because you are brainDOA with respect to understanding the impact of tax policies on capital investment flows.
“Tax credits that ship jobs overseas” Good Ol’Barry’s worn that one out…he reaches back behind those big ears of his and pulls ‘the tax string’ and out of his mouth comes a flood of manure, that so many of the idiots, like those of you that have drank to Kool-aid are actually dumb enough to believe.
First of all, never, ever, in the history of our Country has there ever been passed tax law that gives tax breaks to companies that export jobs overseas. There has been tax law passed that lowers taxes for corporations, and yes, moron, some of them do export jobs, they either have to do it to match competitors cost structures or go out of business. What the hell do you think corporations that are on the verge of exporting jobs – because of cost pressures – will do, when President 0sama raises corporate income tax rates? Any guess?
When even more jobs export because we have a socialist in the white house, understand that there will be less disposable income to support the under $250k crowd. To bad small business employees will lose their jobs because their employer is seeing reduced demand for her products/services, because Big Ears raised corporate income taxes and sent millions to the unemployment line.
Oh and btw, don’t expect to see any tax cuts at all from the Osama / Pelosi administration. If there is one track record that the Messiah has, it is a track record of failing to deliver that which he promises in his campaigns.

This whole day I’ve been away from my family. I don’t have to be here. I didn’t buy a house I couldn’t afford. As a matter of fact, I bought a house way cheaper than I can afford. I don’t drive a car to impress any one. My ford pick up is paid for.
I don’t have to be here, and maybe I just won’t come back tomorrow.
mcbama can’t tax me if I don’t work. maybe i’ll go down and sign up for welfare. a simple life, yes thats the way
i can play with my kids and fish in my pond. i’ll eat the corn from my garden and not spend my money at walmart.

People calling Joe a “republican plant” really out-do yourselves.
McCain must be BRILLIANT!
The McCain campaign got Obama to go to the exact neighborhood where Joe W. lives, at the EXACT time needed to get a socialist remark recorded so it could be used against Obama. — Obama, the VICTIM!
It was again BRILLIANT how the McCain camp got Obama to speak a socialist agenda.
Maybe a McCain “agent” slipped a mickey into Obama’s breakfast drink which programmed him to go where he went, and say what he said.
WOW… thanks Obama supporters… for a moment there, I thought Joe might actually be real and Obama’s answer might just be exactly what he thinks!
Just for you, I’ll keep focusing on Joe as a “plant” so I don’t take the time to digest Obama’s telling socialist answer.
You don’t have to thank me.

Biden Guarantees an International Crisis in Six Months if Obama Wins [UPDATED]
http://noquarterusa.net/blog/2008/10/20/biden-guarantees-an-international-crisis-in-six-months-if-obama-wins/#more-5570
(I know some of you guys heard Biden–he sounds crazy or maybe like he doesn’t want Obama to win, or he knows something. Re-read it and look for clues. He’s rambling about how we don’t have enough in the military, and how Pakistan is blah blah. WTH is he talking about. A Draft? Starting war somewhere else? Or he’s saying we will GET attacked? They are going to need our influence in the community? What? The civilian military? Cause it’s NOT going to be apparent they are right at first?? What? It’s one of the scariest things I’ve heard a politician say. I’ve been harping about how I think Obama would swap our enemies for our allies. Just re-read what he said. Do you really believe he’s going to cut taxes for all making under $250,000 when keeps talking about all the things he’s going to spend money on. It doesn’t add up.
For an education look up the Laffer effect to see why McCain doesn’t want to increase taxes on anyone right now let alone in these economic times. BTW – those making between 66,000 and 110,000 will be paying more Taxes under Obama, according to a report done by GMA. I’d call that the middle class, wouldn’t you? As far as the savings those under $66,000 would be making under Obama, the $2,500 or $5,000 credit for health insurance would more than make up for. BTW- that report showed a tax cut from McCain for all those same people. Just not as much for those under $66,000.

Omentum: Apparently Colin Powell felt that Obama needed help because he feared the Bradley Effect so he jumped on Obama’s bandwagon. And as the polls are narrowing for Obama they need all the help they can get. Its not over until the fat lady sings and she hasn’t sung yet. So there is a chance for McCain to win. Joe the plumber might have made the difference.

HP-Boston: I am surprised that Biden would refer to the fact that Obama if elected there would be a crisis. Maybe he was referring to the fact that world leaders would get ready to attack because they already know Obama is not presidential material. What a mess this country would be in. Powell would have to take over as secretary of state and Biden would have to help Obama. Two nuts in a shell waiting to be cracked open.

Independent voter: Your just in denial of Obama’s close relationship with Ayers, his ties with Rezko and his racism when he was younger. You know the facts are true but your closing your ears and eyes to the facts because you support Obama even knowing he was anti-american and racist when he was younger. But your not alone, all the blacks are supporting him and it wouldn’t matter is he had a prison record. The blacks don’t care about his past, they are only interested in getting him elected. They are not even concerned that Ayers bombed this country. That’s they way they think and live. So be right at home voting Obama.

Since making the “spread the wealth around, it’s good for everyone” comment, the Obama-Biden camp and the left wing media has put Joe and his employer out of work. Is this really supporting the working class? Putting innocent people out of work? 200 some media people camping outside of Joe’s home? Is that fair? He was a by-stander who asked a question. Obama should have refrained himself from saying that comment, just like Biden should have not made comments that Obama will be tested within 6 months of presidency.
There are many Joe the Plumbers across the United States. Working people with ambitions and questions. Obama and McCain has ambitions to become President, why can’t Joe dream about owning a plumbing business?!
Regardless of who becomes president, we need to support the new leader. We all know that the troops will remain in Iraq even with Obama as President. S. Korea, Japan and a host of other nations might not be what what it is today without the presence of the American troops.

JWS: I loved your statement. And its true. The economy is not bad. And this generation of idiots are always crying about the economy. I am doing fine. Gas prices are dropping big sales on food. The problem was that young people wanted to live like the rich with a beer pocket. Bought a condo with no money down or 5% down, a year later they decided they didn’t want to pay the payments anymore because they couldn’t afford it, gave the condo back to the bank and went to renting. The bank has lost a huge amount of money. And the banks are at fault too. They should never lend money unless the buyer has at least 25 to 30% down. That’s what made the banks in trouble. As far as I am concerned I don’t have a problem. I don’t have to work and I have enough money to live on. I got rid of my conversion van four years ago and I don’t need a car. I have all the transportation I need. And to those wannabee’s the answer is don’t try to be.

If they really want people to spead the wealth around, get rid of the gift tax. Support the giving to charities and such.

Am I alone in finding McCain’s Joe-the-Plumber shtick just a little patronizing…kinda obvious what you’re up to, Johnny Boy?
The man thinks US voters are stupid enough to believe his born-again new zeal as the patron saint of the American workers, who he proclaims don’t trust Obama….because he has Joe-the-Plumber in his corner.
Well…sorry, John, but Obama actually has 300,000 real plumbers in HIS corner! You see,in January, 2008, the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada endorsed Obama:
“Barack Obama is the choice of the UA because he has always fought for working people throughout his career and will do the best job of bringing badly-needed change to Washington. Obama will help us keep existing jobs and work to develop new, higher paying jobs here in America, reform our health care system, fix our ailing schools and make sure that the pensions of our retirees are safe.”
“One of the keys to our endorsement was that Senator Obama backs a strong energy and industrial construction policy, which is very important to the future of our union. He is in favor of nuclear power, the construction of new refineries, fossil fuel power plants and chemical plants. He has also endorsed innovative energy initiatives, including ethanol plants, coal gasification and biodiesel production. He also clearly recognizes the need to upgrade all of our current industrial plants to comply with clean air and water standards. Barack realizes we have to become less reliant on foreign oil and gas and develop an energy program that we self-sustain here in the United States.”
“We need to support Barack Obama because he provides more than lip service to our concerns.”
And that’s exactly what John McCain’s Joe-the-Plumber campaign is….BS-coated lip service.
Posted by: Truthfairy | October 20, 2008, 8:05 pm 8:05 pm
Wow, a tax cut for 95% of the people and you call McCain lip service. 100% – 95% equals 5% pays the tax burdan. Only an idiot would buy that.
A poll does show that people with less education are voting for Obama

Jen– I agree with you statement, but where is all the support for our current president. What has this world come to when a movie portraying Bush as a doofus is release before the man is out of office. Where has our decency amongst men or women gone… the way Joe is being treated, the awful comments about Sarah Palin in the media or by so called ‘stars’ and the terrible comments SNL has made about John McCain or the comments on this website about either of the candidates. I incourage everyone to look at records, not the way people perceive them to be by their persona.

You Betcha Palin Is A Tough Governor:
Alaska could revoke leases for oil fields like Prudhoe Bay if top energy companies refuse to participate in a government natural gas pipeline plan, Gov Sarah Palin told Reuters in an interview.
Exxon Mobil Corp, BP Plc and ConocoPhillips together control more than 35 trillion cubic feet of known gas reserves on the Alaska North Slope.
But the companies declined to participate in a process backed by Palin to jump-start a long-delayed gas pipeline, arguing they needed a long-term tax deal from the state first.
Palin called the refusal “unconstitutional.”
“When the conditions of these leases are not met, especially after decades, it is time to open them up and allow other companies to come in here and compete for the right to tap the resources,” the Republican governor told Reuters this week in an interview.
The companies have said they are interested in developing the reserves, with ConocoPhillips studying a separate plan.
Palin’s tough talk has the backing of many ordinary Alaskans who are suspicious of the influence of the oil companies, as well as Democrats in the state legislature.
Palin is a fighter and knows how to make companies bend. Palin can do the same in Washington, D.C. Obama is one of the good-old-boys and Palin is for the people.
Obama wants to tax the oil companies and have the US government waste the money.

Blackjack how did you come to this conclusion. Actually it is the less educated who are voting Republican.
Posted by: silkwool | October 20, 2008, 8:30 pm 8:30 pm
During the oil crisis of 2007, Palin fought to raise taxes on oil companies. As fuel prices skyrocketed in the lower 49 states, Palin complained that her state wasn’t getting its share of the windfall.
Palin successfully pushed for a law that raised taxes on oil profits. The increase amounted to an estimated $1.6-billion annually more for the state: double the amount it received the year before. Then she gave the money to the people.
It’s true: we’ve already checked her claim that she sent “a large share of that revenue directly back to the people of Alaska.”
On Aug. 7, 2008, the Alaska Legislature approved a measure she promoted. The administration of Alaska’s governor Sarah Palin now gives $1,200 to every single Alaskan. This comes to about $741-million for state residents. In addition, each resident will receive an annual dividend of $2,000 from an oil-wealth savings account. That comes to about $741-million for state residents
For a family of 7 (Gov. Palin has 7 members in her family) that means an additional $22,400.00 in income sent from the state of Alaska. WOW, who needs a job! Back to the trailer, Billy Bob!
That’s a fancy way of describing wealth redistribution.
Here is Obama’s gift to his voters.

The draft of our young men into the military will return with Obama. Therefore, all you mothers and grandmothers out there remember your vote for Obama drafted your sons and grandsons into the military. Here is why it will happen:
Michael F. Scheuer, the founding head of the CIA’s bin Laden unit: Senator Obama must have left a couple zeroes off his plan for reinforcements. Two brigades — which is about 6,000 men — will not make a lick of difference in Afghanistan, which is a country the size of Texas, with the highest mountains on earth, a hostile population, and a growing Islamist insurgency. If Obama starts talking about 100 brigades — about 300,000 men — then the public might be able to assume he means business. Otherwise, he is just blowing smoke. Obama and all the other candidates in the other parties constantly say that “we have tried the military option and it does not work.” This of course is a bald lie; U.S. military power has been used most daintily in Afghanistan and Iraq. If the military power we have delivered in both places so far is the best we can do, then American taxpayers have been monumentally swindled in the amount of taxes they have paid for their military during the past 25 years. And another billion dollars for aid for Afghan reconstruction would just be another billion wasted. It appears that Obama and his fellow candidates in both parties have not learned that programs for economic recovery, internal stability, and nation-building cannot be started with any hope of effectiveness and durability until the enemy has been definitively annihilated. If Obama is right and the military option has failed, then more aid is just throwing money away because — as all can see — the enemy is growing in size and ferocity and shows no signs of being on the edge of annihilation.
Democrat President LB Johnson used Vietnam to enrich the industrial-military-complex. Moreover, the Vietnam War helped LB Johnson with the unemployment problem. Sounds cruel and unreal, but it is a historic fact.
Then there is the opportunity to draft women into the national service of many different jobs. You never heard of the national service program that Colin Powell and Barack Obama think is a great idea. Obama will be full of surprises because Democrats want to control people. Of course, that is not socialism, but then I do not know what to call it. Demsoism may be a good name.

Hey small business for mac. Raising the pricing on products is not worst than people not able to afford the products. I guess you need to read John Mills. You ever heard of the unlucky or a bad break. A lot of people are not lazy, trust me, lazy people live in the streets and make excuses. But this is a community and in a real community, you look out for the fellow man and you help the ones that wants help. But you cannot blame the baby born from the mistake of his mother and father in proverty but if they want a chance, we should give it to them and if they need help, you help them.
Trust I do my part with my taxes but the middle class can only do so much. It’s like aiding another country who has little help, like aiding Iraq.

I don’t know what it is with the republicans this year. Its like thrift pet pound with Pets that no body could want.
Maybe Middle America is really big hearted and wants to cuddle with this menagerie of losers.
Joe the Plummer is a classic case of the great American loser; there is not a chance of a snowball in hell that he would be able to buy the pluming shop he works in. I think the less than 40 income a year he supposedly makes would
hardly pay for his humble abode in that downtrodden Missouri town where he lives in (or maybe its Ohio- I get them mixed up- one has more Jimmy Dean Sausage stops on highways- I cant remember ).
Sure I guess he can win the money (1 chance in a million) if he goes up to the interstate truckstop, and plays the lottery ever weekend. (Sarcasm if you miss my tone)
But he better get the $1.99 breakfast special first, or he will probably go home hungry. Joe is the classic American loser in a nutshell. He fantasizes about situations that he will never be in LIKE DUH making 200m a year where McCain would be help.
In reality he losses 1800 a year if Obama doesn’t win. He kind of reminds me of some mongrel cross between a pit bill, and a miniature beagle- possessing the least commendable traits of each. What a loser. Maybe somebody out there can let him clean up their yard and do odd jobs, your forcedo feel sorry for such a pitiful cretinous creature.

keredite:
You have an IQ of a potted plant.
Let’s see Joe wakes up in lower middle class home in Ohio one day and decides to sabotage Obama when he unmistakenly interrupts Joe, who is playing football with his son, to talk to him. So, the great right-wing conspiracy of one (which is legally impossible since you need at least 2 people for a conspiracy) decided to spring into action. Thus, Samuel decides to call himself Joe (now, the Left can legitimately call him a two-personed plant). He stops to interact with the All-knowing Messiah, whose powers are faulty that day because he could not foresee the impending disaster. An American citizen deigns to simply ask a question of one of our leaders, albeit the Savior of the World, and the entire Liberal MSM and elites spring into action to try to crush the innocent questioner not the supremely intelligent, most brilliant politician since Lincoln (who would have set Obama up to be President of Liberia) WHO ANSWERED THE QUESTION.
No one can question the Castros, the thug Chavez, the Iranian Muslimnoligists, the murdered Odinga, and all of the would be Hitlers. Is that what you want if Obama gets elected? What if he doesn’t deliver his mythical tax decrease (Clinton promised the same thing until he ushered in the largest middle-class tax INCREASE in history) or sends more troops off to war? Who are you going to complain to then when he has installed his Fairness Doctrine on everyone and the intelligentsa stormtroopers to persecute you for even daring to question the wisdom of the Savior?

First – I don’t plan on voting for either candidate, because each party has done very little for the average American. Neither candidate possesses the ethics or values sought after by todays American. Politics is another form of ‘corporate America’. Sure, these are my opinions, but what do you expect from biased internet news?
Second – I left the United States to search for better opportunities because I wanted affordable healthcare and better education for my child, which is unheard of in the US. Good thing I did, because my healthcare package came in handy two years ago.
I work for the highest bidder in the defense contract industry. Yeah! I still work for my country, but I doubt if I can afford to live there.
I’ve yet to buy my first home… or live the American dream that my ancestors pursued nearly 400 years ago when they were some of the first to immigrate to the New World.
Hey John McCain, Barak Obama… Ask not what we can do for you, but GUARANTEE what you can do for us! No need to bend the truth. We’re all Americans, right?
It would be nice to come home…

I know many small businesspersons that net more than $550K per annum. Increases in taxes will strangle their business and their small employee count will join the unemployed.
Obama has a pipe dream to lower taxes on 95% of the lower and middle class. The tax base is shrinking and unemployment is on the rise. That imaginary 95% will bring in less tax dollars. I guess Obama will solve that problem with another pipe dream.

White America is looking at too much favoritism for the Afro-Americans by Obama selecting retired general Colin L. Powell. Mr. Sirro:
For every $1 we make, we send:
16.66667% of every GROSS dollar we make to the government in the manner of royalty payments.
Then, we pay lease rentals.
Then, transportation and excise taxes.
Then, Federal income taxes.
Then, State income taxes.
Then, franchise taxes.
Then, property taxes.
Then, unemployment taxes and health insurance costs.
And, FICA, etc.
Then, local taxes.
Then, sales tax and a restocking tax.
Next, comes my firm.
Federal taxes.
State taxes.
Local property taxes.
Sales tax.
Unemployment taxes and healthcare insurance for my employees.
FICA.
Lastly, personally.
Federal taxes.
State taxes.
Local property taxes.
Sales tax.
FICA and unemployment taxes.
So, darling, you do the math. It leaves me with about 10 cents of every dollar.

A man brings dinner to the table every night. Another brings a fork. The man with the fork decides a 3 course meal isn’t enough. He insist on a 4 course meal with wine
Also, while “whinning”, he complains that the man brining dinner takes home the left overs.
The next night the man bringing dinner doesn’t show up.

The 4th leading cause of illness and death is doctors and hospitals. A known fact by the American Medical Association (AMA). Obama’s national healthcare program will give trillions of dollars to fraudulent pharmaceutical companies that lie about the prescription medicines prescribed by doctors.
A few links of medicines lies:
http://www.icnr.com/articles/thimerosalcoverup.html?PHPSESSID=45bd1c367fc4aeef073ccacdb1f7e088

http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2008/10/04/when-the-cure-is-worse-than-the-disease.aspx?source=nl
It is not just the rising cost of medical care The insurance carriers know that prescription drugs will cause more sickness and that a patient will require more medical care, and the vicious cycle goes round and round. It is the reason insurance carriers raise the premium for healthcare coverage.
There are doctors that will not take any vaccination because the doctors know the dangers. Obama will support the lies and everyone will think they have national healthcare. In fact, you will become dependent on drugs created by the pharmaceutical companies.

The reason health care insurance is so expensive (among others):
“Bob” goes to the ER because he cut his hand at home while working in the yard. His hand is repaired, the visit takes 45 minutes. After that, a mom with 4 kids come in. They have no insurance. All the kids have colds, she hasn’t bought any benadryl, tylenol, etc. She just brings them to the ER. Their runny noses started this morning. Her ER bill is $1400.00. She has no intention of paying that bill. So who does? The man who was just in and had his hand repaired. He has good insurance. The hospital charged his insurance $1600. $600 to cover his bill, and then $1000 to cover part of the woman’s bil. The hospital might eat the other $400 (or pass it to the next insured patient).
The insurance will pay $1200 of the $1600 bill, the man with the cut hand pays the other $400.00 The insurance company will increase the premiums to cover the high cost of the ER visit. Soon the man can’t afford it.
The lady will come back in next week with her kids becasue they still have a runny nose, and besides, it’s free.
The next visit will be a 28 year old white male on disability for his “nerves”. He has medicaid. He’ll try the new ER dr to see if he can get a Rx for Lortab. If he fails, he’ll come back next shift when the next ER Dr is on. Besides, it’s free.
Another family, this one has medicaid. They don’t want to go to the clinic. They require a $3.00 copay per pt. The mom wants you to write her a Rx for her kids Benadryl “medicaid will pay for it if you write a prescription”. (she has two packs of Malboro’s in her purse along with a top of the line cell phone).
This goes on over and over, day after day in every ER in this country.
Guess what, when that 28 year old white male shows back up, you have to see him. The government makes you.
No one should say a word about fixing health care unless they have some clue about what they’re talking about.
mcbama, hilary, etc don’t have a clue
heath care a right?
It’s a wonerderful idea.

As I read these comments, I realise why we are fast becoming a third world nation.
We were once a super power, capable of inspiring nations of peoples to want to be like us.
We have squandered that power. We have pre-emptivley invaded nations, on trumped up charges and out right lies.
We have endorsed a policy of torture, secret renditions, and consolidation of power to the executive branch. There is no more check and balance of powers in this nation.
As we sit and quibble over which candidate says what and when, the facts don’t change.
They both support to some extent what is happening now, and has for the past 8 years.
The bottom line is that we need to have who-ever is in power accountable. No more “Free-Speech” zones, no more tazers for those who speak out.
We are losing the capability to speak out when they get into power.
That is what we need to fight, and fight vigorously.
Neither candidate has any interest in our views. It’s all about power.
Fight your silly partisan battles. As I see it, we will be sitting here sucking the marrow from ham bones as the mid-eivel Europeans did for sustanence during the dark ages.
Or you could ask for true leadership, but that requires courage and fortitude.

Today, the CEO of Google (the company who is or wants to build a database of all searches of everyone using their search engine) endorsed Obama. This afternoon, Obama’s thug attorney sent a letter to the Department of Justice attempting to pressure them to shut up the CRITICS of the desirously election-stealing community agitating group ACORN. Sounds like the (un)Fairness Doctrine is already getting ready to go.
First, they will try to quite talk radio. Then, they will come after all of us blogging. Even Liberal Obamamots should be deathly afraid of this. Under an Obama presidency and you voted for him, if you get disillusioned because you fail to receive your tax cut, or your healthcare, or any of your other big governmental giveaways, then your First Amendment right to free speech will controlled by the Central Government of the New World Order.

Sounds familiar? Sure does sort of. Palin’s 10 year-old nephew is tasered by her State Trooper former brother-in-law and the Democrats call for an $100K investigation of the Governor, who wanted him removed from service. “The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not.”
Thomas Jefferson
Paine wrote of the dangers of the revolutionaries in the French Revolution. He realized that society could crumble if the many “poor” went after the “rich” view, with the “poor” deciding who was “rich” and had to be killed.
Even Aristotle said that the community would fail if the poor decided to help themselves to the property of the rich.

Concerns about foreign fundraising have been raised by other anecdotal accounts of illegal activities.
In June, Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi gave a public speech praising Obama, claiming foreign nationals were donating to his campaign.
“All the people in the Arab and Islamic world and in Africa applauded this man,” the Libyan leader said. “They welcomed him and prayed for him and for his success, and they may have even been involved in legitimate contribution campaigns to enable him to win the American presidency…”
Though Gadhafi asserted that fundraising from Arab and African nations were “legitimate,” the fact is that U.S. federal law bans any foreigner from donating to a U.S. election campaign
A pair of Palestinian brothers named Hosam and Monir Edwan contributed more than $31,300 to the Obama campaign in October and November 2007, FEC records show.
please open your eyes and see obama for what he really stands for…and it isnt you or the america we live in.

As repugnant as Obama’s relationship with Ayers is, the fact that for two decades Obama attended a church where paranoid hatred of America was preached on a regular basis is more telling. The senator counted as his minister, friend, and advisor a man who says that America created the AIDS virus to kill blacks, puts blacks in prison rather than killing them off, and deserved to be attacked on 9/11 because of its racism.
When the press finally picked up on stories Newsmax was running on Reverend Wright, Obama said he would not have belonged to the church if he had regularly heard Wright’s hate-filled statements. Yet when he announced for the presidency, Obama disinvited Wright from giving an invocation because his sermons can get “kind of rough.” Why did Obama not resign from the church then?
Last December, Wright gave an award to Louis Farrakhan for lifetime achievement. Why did Obama not resign then? Instead, after Newsmax broke the story on Jan. 14, Obama dissembled about the issue, saying the award was for Farrakhan’s work with ex-offenders. Neither the presentation nor the article about it in the church magazine mentioned anything about ex-offenders.
The truth is that Obama joined the church and adopted Wright as his friend and mentor because he feels an affinity for Wright’s radical views. Why else would he expose his kids to Wright’s “God d— America” tirades? Michelle Obama’s comment that, for the first time in her adult life, she feels proud of America, highlights the fact that she has the same blame-America-first mentality Wright promotes.
As with his minister, Obama repudiated Ayers only when press disclosures became too embarrassing.
As Max Noel, a former FBI agent who worked the Weather Underground case, tells me, “They [the Weather Underground] were a violent, violent, anti-government, domestic terrorist organization. Obama has not only associated with those people, he continued associating with racist people like his minister Jeremiah Wright over a period of 20 years. I don’t think that’s by happenstance. It’s just amazing to me. The American people are being led by the nose by people who say this isn’t important.”
In fact, Oliver “Buck” Revell, a former associate deputy director of the FBI who at one time oversaw the applicant and hiring process at the bureau, tells me the FBI would not hire such an individual as an agent.
“One of the principal purposes of the background investigation is to determine who an applicant associated with and the degree of association with any questionable associates,” Revell says. “Obama would certainly not have been hired on my watch.”

Sen. McCain stepped up his attack this week when he said that the Obama plan’s “billions of dollars in higher taxes would kill jobs.” An Obama aide responded that “Sen. McCain’s tax policy is an exercise in unprecedented fiscal recklessness” that would “explode the deficit.”
Obama does not get it. MORE jobs means more taxes collected with spending cuts means REDUCTION of the deficit.
Obama wants to tax the oil companies and waste the collected taxes with federal government spending. The same spending waste used for his housing projects in Illinois. Where did the tax dollars go?
http://www.boston.com/news/nation/articles/2008/06/27/grim_proving_ground_for_obamas_housing_policy/?page=1
You Betcha Palin Is A Tough Governor: This is Governor Palin Way Of Spending Oil Tax Money.
Sarah Palin is more ready for the Washington, D.C. crowd than Obama. Obama has proven he cannot even take care of a simple housing project. How can YOU expect Obama to run the country?
Obama gave the people in Illinois broken down housing and dangerous living conditions. Where did the money go? What pockets were filled with tax payers’ money from Washington, D.C.? We know where Governor Sarah Palin’s tax money is. The tax money is in the pockets of the residents of Alaska. BOOOOOOOO To Obama.
BOOOOOOOOOOO To Obama

Here’s a jerk in denial, who thinks he incorrectly insists he doesn’t need a license to work as a plumber — who commits a crime everytime he illegally works on somebody’s plumbing. On top of that, he’s nearly $1,200 in arrears with his state taxes.
Yep, he’s a great symbol for the McCain-Palin team.

If you earn over $250,000 you are NOT middle class or some plumber. You are wealthy. Many high paid doctors and attorneys do not even earn that much net.
How smart are you people getting all excited about this stupid Joe the Plumber garbage.

Also, it is only 3% increase tax on the money earned (after expenses) above $250,000. So if you are one of the FEW that earn OVER $250,000, say $270,000 you will only be taxed an additional 3% on $20,000. But if there are tax cuts at the lower end you will save in the range so it could be offset. Again, this $250,000 is after claiming expenses/losses in your business. It is INCOME! And you idiots are calling this socialism. Brains should be a requirement before voting.

The only Joe, the McCain campaign needs are the Joes, and I having enough trust in my country’s intelligence to believe that there will be a sufficient number of them, that see right through the junior Senator from Illinois’ rhetoric. I believe, despite the best efforts of the arrogant American media’s unprecedented efforts to shield his record and lack thereof, experience and lack thereof, judgment and lack thereof, that America has a sufficient number of Joe’s who will indeed realize that little should be placed in the words that come out of the junior Senator’s mouth. He’s pulled the strings behind his head before; out spout canned messages, crafted by his handlers to be what what was needed to be said, to get elected. Illinois bought his words twice now. What did they get for it? Aren’t they still waiting for that tax break?
Voting present, serving nowhere near a full term in the U.S. Senate, writing two books and pulling those strings behind your head aren’t enough to win the confidence you need to con the voters, beyond Illinois, that you are ready to lead.
Senator, go back to the senate and accomplish something. If you get some experience and get on the right side of the issues, I’d be honored to cast a vote your way. But this time, its is not even close.

Todd,
There are many Republicans and no doubt many Democrats that understand taxes, and their impact on international capital flows, than do you.
Todd, I think that you might be able to grasp the idea that few earn over $250,000 without a little help, a little help from, well, employees. Now, for simplicity, lets refer to those as employers, whether they be rich individuals or corporations. Enterprises run by wealthy individuals or corporations, Todd, may well, not be the only supplier of the products/services they offier. They may well compete against many suppliers, even some from abroad, even some from abroad having certain cost advantages. These cost advantages, Todd, could be wages, raw material prices or, Todd, they could be tax expenses. You are right Todd, taxes are expenses. Now, Todd, lets think about those U.S. corporations that are fighting for their life (please read this also to be fighting for the existence of the jobs that they offer, to employees, in the U.S.). Many corporations maintain physical presence in both the U.S. and the abroad. Now, Todd, hypothetically, if, their operations in the U.S. face an 80% tax rate on profits, while their Malaysian operations face only a 15% tax rate, then do you see Todd, how it makes economic sense, for the employer, to think it is likely a very good decision to move operations from Ohio to Malaysia? Maybe Todd, it will be more subtle, they might just stop hiring in Ohio and hire only in Malaysia. In any case, there are some in Ohio who might either be laid off or not hired.
Regardless, even though your dear candidate will offer 95% of all Americans a lower tax rate, those laid off because their rich employer had to shift jobs overseas, still have no job. They’ll be baffled 3 years from now. Maybe they’ll say, I should have said thanks, but no thanks Senator on that tax plan to nowhere.
So Todd, understand this simple lesson. The wealthy employ. If changes occur to the cost structure in their operations, including tax expenses, they will be incented to react, if they don’t they may find themselves at a cost advantage sufficient to erode their economic viability on a permanent basis, or at least until they cease to exist, in which case, nobody has a paycheck from them.
One last thing Todd, lets assume that our above corporation is not struggling, lets say that it is called Exxon. Well, Todd, Exxon produces some energy in American, using American employees to do so. America is not a cheap place to produce energy. What, Todd, do you think Exxon will do, when President Obamba raises, as he likes to say so often, taxes on corporations that export jobs overseas? You got it T! They’ll divest (reads: send to the unemployment lines) their American energy production operations.
The final thing that I want you to grasp Todd, is that when President Obama puts millions of Americans, formerly employed by corporations, onto the unemployment line, they will not, unless Ms. Pelosi gives them a welfare check, have any money to buy the goods and services offered by all small businesses, including those that he claims he will not tax additionally. They’ll be baffled to. President Obama, thanks for not taxing my income additionally, but, it is nowhere near $250k, as it was before you took office, it is $134k, what happened? I drank the Kook-aid! I promise I did.
Is it sinking in Todd? I hate to burst the bubble of all of you out there that have drank Mr. Obama’s kool-aid, but when he says “tax cuts for employers that export jobs overseas”, he isn’t really referring to Republican led legislation that actually instructed the IRS to give a tax credit to all corporations that actually did export jobs. What he is really referring to is Republican led legislation that incented corporations to not export jobs, by giving them a tax cut, but, even though the tax cuts were given, jobs were still exported, because the tax cuts weren’t sufficient, for some, to allow them to maintain their U.S. employment. This is yet another aspect that Mr. Gibson, Ms. Couric, MSNBC, etc. have failed to present to the American public. Shame on them!
I hope that this helps you Todd with your future postings, here and elsewhere.

Don’t drink that Kool-Aid, Taxes 101! There’s still hope, despite what the MSM would like us to believe. The media is saying that the polls foreshadow McCain’s doom, but it ain’t over yet. Obama and his elitist illuminati cronies may have brainwashed a lot of people, but I’m not going to give up hope until the final votes (hopefully not ACORN-registered) are counted!

That’s right: It ain’t over ’till the FAT LADY SINGS……….and all the votes are counted and the Supreme Court has it’s final ruling.

Jeff,
right on, bro.
I refuse to believe that our country is stupid enough to elect someone with about as much experience as my Uncle Martin.
Hopefully, the ACORN multi-registered won’t be able to put the crack pipe down long enough to vote.

I do make more than 250,000.00 per year, and guess what, I am voting for Obama. After paying $540,000.00+ in income tax last year, I think I paid enough.
BUT, I dont think I will even have a business to go to if we keep the policies and destructive Us verses them mentality of the right wing years of the past.
I know I will be paying more in the future under an Obama administration, but I also believe my country is more important in the long run and have already voted for the Obama/Biden team.
Thanks Barack, you have restore my faith in this country which is the best place to live in the world.

A message to the Kool-Aid drunk Obama Nation (hereafter KADON)
KADON, I think that you might be able to grasp the idea that few earn over $250,000 without a little help, a little help from, well, employees. Now, for simplicity, lets refer to those as employers, whether they be rich individuals or corporations. Enterprises run by employers, KADON, may well, not be the only supplier of the products/services they offer. They may well compete against many suppliers, even some from abroad, even some from abroad having certain cost advantages. These cost advantages, KADON, could be wages, raw material prices or, they could be tax expenses. That is right taxes are expenses, to employers, wealthy or not. Now, lets think about those U.S. corporations that are fighting for their life (please read this also to be fighting for the existence of the jobs that they offer, to employees, in the U.S.). Many corporations maintain physical presence in both the U.S. and the abroad. Now, hypothetically, if, their operations in the U.S. face an 80% tax rate on profits, while their Malaysian operations face only a 15% tax rate, then do you see, how it makes economic sense, for the employer, to think it is likely a very good decision to move operations from Ohio to Malaysia? Now, it will be more subtle, the tax rates aren’t nearly as different, but they are different. Then, they might just stop hiring in Ohio and hire only in Malaysia.
So KADON, understand this simple lesson.
Ok, rich American corporations, lets assume that our above corporation is not struggling, lets say that it is called Exxon. Well, KADON, Exxon produces some energy in America, using American employees to do so. America is not a cheap place to produce energy. What, do you think Exxon will do, when President Obamba raises, as he likes to say so often, taxes on corporations that export jobs overseas? You got it! They’ll divest (reads: send to the unemployment lines) their American energy production operations.
This is an important concept, about wealth redistribution, that I want you to grasp KADON. When President Obama puts millions of Americans, formerly employed by ‘wealthy corporations that export jobs overseas’, onto the unemployment line, they will not, unless Ms. Pelosi redistributes wealth and gives them a nice fat Socialist welfare check, have any money to buy the goods and services offered by all small businesses, including those that the young Senator claims he will not tax additionally. Small business owners will be baffled too. “President Obama, thanks for not taxing my income additionally, thanks for going after the evil rich, but, my profit is nowhere near $232k, as it was before you took office, it is $104k, what happened? I drank the Kook-aid! I promise I did. I had to lay off 2 employees because demand is so weak for my products, because so many corporate types have been laid off and have no money to buy my products. I feel like a wealthy employer, please help”…
Is it sinking in?
One final thing, I hate to burst the bubble of all of you out there that have drank Mr. Obama’s Kool-aid, but when he says “tax cuts for employers that export jobs overseas”, he isn’t really referring to Republican led legislation that actually instructed the IRS to give a tax credit to all corporations that actually did export jobs. This is yet another aspect that Mr. Gibson, Ms. Couric, MSNBC, etc. have failed to present to the American public. Shame on them!

Taxes 101 for Democrats – and Undecideds that want to see through the Kool-aid …….
I am glad you cleared that up. I thought a KADON was something Sarah shoots in Alaska for pleasure.
Thanks for the heads up.
