A senior Barack Obama aide tells ABC News that Obama’s Secret Service detail had not been briefed on the alleged plot to assassinate the Democratic nominee, an indication that the plot had not reached the point of posing a serious threat to Obama.  "They were given no heads up," the Obama aide tells ABC News. ABC News’ Jack Date reports the ATF have arrested two neo-Nazis for an alleged plot to Obama. The plotters were also planning to kill 88 individuals by gunfire and 14 African Americans by decapitation a federal law enforcement sources tells ABC News. Obama has had Secret Service agents surrounding him since May 3, the earliest a candidate has ever been provided protection. An Obama aide tells ABC News that Secret Service headquarters "would be notified of anything that mentioned" Obama. But adds that "it never rose to any sort of serious level," which explains why Obama’s personal detail was not notified. –George Stephanopoulos
