McCain opposed the MLK holiday and wanted to fly the confederate flag from federal buildings, can we then openly call him a racist or associated with the KKK since they also supported those plans? How many members of the KKK did he associate with while on his southern tour? I believe that there is a photo of him and David Duke out there. John McCain sat on the board of a very right-wing organization, it was the U.S. Council for World Freedom, it was chaired by a guy named John Singlaub, who wound up involved in the Iran contra scandal. It was an ultra conservative, right-wing group. The Anti-Defamation League, in 1981 when McCain was on the board, said this about this organization. It was affiliated with the World Anti-Communist League – the parent organization – which ADL said “has increasingly become a gathering place, a forum, a point of contact for extremists, racists and anti-Semites.”

When Obama quit wearing his American flag pin people questioned that – I think overly questioned it. When you follow that with his claim that he did not know that Rev. Wright is racist (against Americans) that begins to add up as evidence. Ayers had a fund raiser for Obama in Ayer’s home. That collection of facts points to some one who does not hold America and Americans in a positive light.
Obama’s wife did not help when she said that for the first time in her life she was proud of America when Barak was warmly accepted by middle America. Further his disparaging remarks about middle America and religion further add to the evidence that he does not have a respect for America that one would hope for.
We should move past these things to the issues. Will these candidates be good for America.
As a liberal from the 70s and 80s I think we did the wrong thing in Vietnam. Two million people died when we pulled out too quickly. That did result in the invigoration of America as we had a flood of Vietnamese boat people after that – the best of people.
Is there an analogy with America and Iraq. I think so.

What is really being implied by the “Ayers issue”?
Nothing.
The purpose is merely to create doubts, not prove anything concretely.
Obama had a friendly relationship with a co-worker who was never convicted of any terrorist acts while being part of an ostensibly “revolutionary” group.
That “revolutionary” group disbanded over thirty years ago, and was most notable for being fairly lousy at robbing armoured cars, which is hardly the route to overthrowing the American government.
No sane person could look at Ayers – an elderly, washed-up ex-radical – and see any kind of credible threat to the nation’s security. The innuendo, therefore, is that Ayers “mentored” Obama in his “revolutionary” doctrine.
Instead of pursuing a “revolutionary” path, however, Obama obviously has sought power by legitimate participation in the electoral system.
This is the antithesis of being a “revolutionary”.
So the smear goes nowhere. It only has the potential to create vague doubts about Obama’s allegiance to the political process among those already inclined to view him with suspicion. And Obama’s strong “favourables” are effective insulation from vague attacks such as “the Ayers smear”.
We ‘know’ Cindy McCain has a substance abuse problem. Does this mean that the public would believe that McCain also does, or that he would fail to fight substance abuse, or that he secretly wishes to get your children addicted? That is much more “plausible” and direct than the Ayers “connection”, isn’t it? Anyone who seriously thinks “Ayers” can gain traction should ask themselves how effective a “Cindy” smear would be.

It’s too bad that the Ayers associations has to be raised by the Republicans and was not addressed by the media many months ago as responsible journalists providing all available information on a Presidential candidate. Obama served as chairman on the Chicago Annenberg Challenge for 5 years. 1995-2000. Ayers launched his bid for state legislator. The inconvenient truth is that this was not a passing acquaintance and it does matter that a leading presidential candidate had at least a working relationship with a former terrorist; no matter the times or the politics. If the media had done it’s job early on, this would not be an issue.

Senator Joe McCarthy used the exact same tactics to smear Adlai Stevenson during the 1952 presidential election. But that was without Republican candidate, General Dwight D. Eisenhower’s sancton.

This election has me very worried. So many things to consider.
I watch all the news channels, jumping from one to another. I must say this drives my husband crazy. But, I feel if you view MSNBC,ABC, CNN, and Fox News, you might get some middle ground to work with.
About six months ago, I started thinking ‘where did the money come from for Obama’.
I started looking into Obama’s life.
Around 1979 Obama started college at Occidental in California. He is very open about his two years at Occidental, he tried all kinds of drugs and was wasting his time but, even though he had a brilliant mind, did not apply himself to his studies.
‘Barry’ (that was the name he used all his life) during this time had two roommates, Muhammad Hasan Chandoo and Wahid Hamid, both from Pakistan.
During the summer of 1981, after his second year in college, he made a ’round the world’ trip. Stopping to see his mother in Indonesia, next Hyderabad in India, three weeks in Karachi, Pakistan where he stayed with his roommate’s family, then off to Africa to visit his father’s family.
My question – Where did he get the money for this trip?
Nether I, nor any one of my children would have had money for a trip like this when they where in college.
When he came back he started school at Columbia University in New York.
It is at this time he wants everyone to call him Barack -not Barry.
Do you know what the tuition is at Columbia? It’s not cheap! to say the least. Here did he get money for tuition? Student Loans? Maybe.
After Columbia, he went to Chicago to work as a Community Organizer for $12,000. a year. Why Chicago? Why not New York? He was already living in New York.
By ‘chance’ he met Antoin ‘Tony’ Rezko, born in Aleppo Syria, and a real estate developer in Chicago. Rezko has been convicted of fraud and bribery this year.
Rezko, was named ‘Entrepreneur of the Decade’ by the Arab-American Business and Professional Association’.
About two years later, Obama entered Harvard Law School. Do you have any idea what tuition is for Harvard Law School? Where did he get the money for Law School? More student loans?
After Law school, he went back to Chicago.
Rezko offered him a job, which he turned down. But, he did take a job with Davis, Miner, Barnhill & Galland.
Guess what? They represented ‘Rezar’ which Rezko’s firm.
Rezko was one of Obama’s first major financial contributors when he ran for office in Chicago.
In 2003, Rezko threw an early fundraiser for Obama which Chicago Tribune reporter David Mendelland claims was instrumental in providing Obama with ’seed money’ for his U.S. Senate race.
In 2005, Obama purchased a new home in Kenwoood District of Chicago for $1.65 million (less than asking price).
With ALL those Student Loans – Where did he get the money for the property?
On the same day Rezko’s wife, Rita, purchased the adjoining empty lot for full price.
The London Times reported that Nadhmi Auchi, an Iraqi-born Billionaire loaned Rezko $3.5 million three weeks before Obama’s new home was purchased. Obama met Nadhmi Auchi many times with Rezko.
Now, we have Obama running for President.
Valerie Jarrett, was Michele Obama’s boss. She is now Obama’s chief advisor and he does not make any major decisions without talking to her first. Where was Jarrett born? Ready for this? Shiraz, Iran! Do we see a pattern here? Or am I going crazy?
On May 10, 2008 The Times reported, Robert Malley advisor to Obama was ’sacked’ after the press found out he was having regular contacts with ‘Hamas’, which controls Gaza and is connected with Iran.
This past week, buried in the back part of the papers, Iraqi newspapers reported that during Obama’s visit to Iraq, he asked their leaders to do nothing about the war until after he is elected, and he will ‘Take care of things’.
Oh, and by the way, remember the college roommates that where born in Pakistan? They are in charge of all those ’small’ Internet campaign contribution for Obama. Where is that money coming from? The poor and middle class in this country? Or could it be from the Middle East?
And the final bit of news. On September 7, 2008, The Washington Times posted a verbal slip that was made on ‘This Week’ with George Stephanapoulos.
Obama on talking about his religion said, ‘My Muslim faith’. When questioned, ‘he make a mistake’. Some mistake!

Obama is turning out to be The Big Let-Down of ’08.
Obama kept insinuating that He is The Second Coming but every time we’ve held our breaths waiting for him to change water into wine, we’ve been disappointed. Obama kept telling us to ‘tune in next week!’ and he never delivers, the miracle never comes. There is nothing there.
Obama’s has a problem with clarity. I have systematically studied both his autobiographies and I still don’t know what kind of man I’m dealing with. When he was first showcased on TV, my interest was aroused. I used to find Obama enigmatic, but now he just comes off as vacuous, empty.
Obama’s two books address the questions of “Journey of Discovery to Where?” and “Who Am I?” We can all relate to such pondering. But Obama does not give us an answer. If he has found the answer since publishing those two books two years ago then he hasn’t told us yet.
McCain has been on a longer and harder personal journey. There can be nothing more extreme than surviving daily torture for five years. Can you imagine that? To be beaten day-in and day-out, starved, your hands and legs bound by chains? McCain already knows what he can take, and humbly knows where he breaks. Every man and woman has a breaking point. It is very human. McCain already knows his, even though he held out as long as he could.
What trials or stories of human devastation has Obama endured? I can’t imagine being Black in America is an easy thing. But Obama was raised in Polynesia by white grandparents and then went on to Harvard, community service, the Senate, and now the presidency. Obama’s journey seems to have been very easy. His skin color opened all the right doors for him instead of slamming them shut. Obama didn’t march against segregation. Obama didn’t fight for affirmative action. He planted no tree. He carried no water for that tree. Obama has just come along and picked the fruits. That is easy street. This is not a great American story. This is not a triumph of will over adversity. This is a story of baby-boomer entitlement. This is the story of the yuppy next door. These stories are a dime a dozen on aisle 3 at Whole Foods.
You may agree or disagree with McCain but at least you know where he stands. He has a long track record to judge him by. McCain has a long list of hits and misses. He has made mistakes (like us all) but that is because he had been trying to do things and change things all his life. Obama markets himself as the candidate with an unblemished record, but that is only because he doesn’t have a record. We have nothing to judge Obama by. All he gives us is his word and we are supposed to put all our trust in his future promises. But these promises keep changing: Obama has produced two contradictory promises on Iraq, two contradictory promises on NAFTA, and two contradictory promises on taxes. Are we supposed to judge him by the original promise he made, or by his most recent one? The candidate who flows with the changing winds of polls is the lightweight. That much we know.
I feel very embarrassed for buying into the Obama phenomena. Maybe now that the weather is changing I see things in a new light. I feel sheepish for falling for the marketing pitch. Where do I go to get a refund?
I think that many voters like me are looking for clarity in our next president. I feel I know what kind of man McCain is, and that I can trust him. McCain gets my vote.

Look at the poll numbers. The American people want to hear about an economic plan that is not a rehash of the past 8 years. They want a plan to end this tragically misguided war. They want a plan to restore America’s place in the world. They want healthcare and jobs. They are smart enough to want to hear candidates talk about this – but what do the folks like Josie offer? Fear, smear, loathing, hate, and kindergarten level debate. It is why you are losing and will not be permitted near the levers of power of generations to come.

But the analyst’s requests have largely been ignored. “I can’t get anyone to move. I believe we are looking at a hijacking of our political system that makes the Clinton and Gore fundraising scandals pale in comparison. And no one here wants to touch it.”
One reasons cited by his superiors, says the analyst, is that involvement by the Justice Department or FBI would be indicative of a criminal investigation, something the FEC would prefer not take place a month before the presidential election. Such actions, though, have been used to scuttle Republican campaigns in the past, the most famous being the Weinberger case in the days leading up to the 1992 re-election bid of President George H.W. Bush.
The analyst, who declines to be identified for fear of retribution, says that on four different occasions in the past three months, he sought to open formal investigations into the Obama campaign’s fundraising techniques, but those investigations have been discouraged. “Without formal approval, I can’t get the resources I need, manpower, that kind of thing. This is a huge undertaking.” And the analyst says that he believes that campaign finance violations have occurred.

As a white, 60′s grandfather from Georgia, I’m not voting Republican this year. The way I see it, the GOP has had several decades (Regan, control of congress under Clinton, BushII) to show us the results of free markets and free trade. Incorrect. We hold no preconceived notions of our leaders except for the reasonable expectation that they will attempt to take the country in the direction they have stated. Recent events, particularly by the resident nut job in office, have damaged this country almost to the point of no return. In order to foster the proper direction we need to head, we look at each candidates position and what direction each will take.
McCain wishes to continue down the same trickle down taxation policy of the last 8 years, one which has set history for the largest single year deficit jumps, twice. It is a plan that favors the wealthy, and unless you are earning $100,000 a year or more, you will not see a single tax break. It favors the wealthy, not the working American.
McCain wishes to implement a health plan that focuses on deregulation to stimulate competition, taxing employer provided health care for the first time in history and giving meager tax credits. The net result will be more americans losing health care. It favors the wealthy. And while both Obamas and McCains plans cost roughly the same, Obamas will be more efficient and increase health coverage to more Americans.
Obama wants to close the enron loophole asap, causing an immediate drop in gasoline prices that working Americans are struggling to pay. McCain says that “Congress is investigating it”. And while the current Congress has already attempted to pass a bill that would have closed the loophole, Bush has vetoed it, twice.
Obamas energy plan would result in a faster adoption of alternative energy sources and increased utilization of existing resources. McCain wants to drill and build nuclear plants, which will take years before actually producing anything, and simply prolong our reliance on oil.
McCain is a military man, and holds the same stance on foreign policy as does Bush, which has ruined our relationship with allies around the globe. Obama favors diplomacy and dialog over military action, and has a much greater chance of restoring our friendships and alliances.
All I have heard out of McCain supporters is how they hate Obama for whatever irrational reason and attacks against him, yet not a single one actually giving reasons why his stance is better. We do not consider Obama a savior, but an intelligent and insightful individual who, given the above, seems to have a much greater chance in advancing this country in the right direction.

The issue with the Keating 5 is that the guy who was found guilty and spent time in jail was a VERY close friend to McCain. Ayers was nothing of the sort to Obama. Do they really want to start guilty by associations ???

I actually think McCain is a good guy overall. I think Obama is too. I do NOT like Palin though — she seems phony and has misplaced confidence. If she ever became President (god forbid something happened to a McCain)… We would be led by someone with less intellectual curiosity than Bush. She is a lightweight.
I admire her principles and sticking to them, but that’s not good enough to solve all the complex issues we face. She would be pushed around by people with any sort of agenda and not know the difference. It’s so scary to think…

McCain paces the floor in the Fortress of Irritability. He is cracking walnuts.

McCain: Damn nutcracker!
Sarah Palin is sitting in a chair at a desk. She is writing on a piece of paper: “J.M + S.P.” This is then crossed out and replaced by “S.P. + J.M.”. These alternating versions , the one before it always crossed out, continues down the page.
McCain: Well, the first plan didn’t work. We tried to put them in a trance with the folksy ray, but they had their deflectors halfway raised. If only you hadn’t called the commander in Afghanistan “McClellan”
Palin: But…didn’t you say they were fighting a civil war, Sir?
McCain stops pacing, looks at Palin silently. He is smiling through tight lips but he is holding back anger.

Dr. Negative: A new job! A special job! Oh, Mr. McCain! I’m ready! I’m ready!
Sarah watches from her chair, filing her nails.
McCain: Now, Dr. Negative. You have to make him seem radical…
Dr. Negative quickly pulls a can out of his right pocket, emblazoned with the word “Radical” He opens the top. Red and Black snakes fly out.
Dr. Negative: (eagerly, expectantly, hungrily) Yes…Yes…
McCain: You’ll have to start rumors that are so inflammatory that they will spread like wildfire, and that will be started too late to stop them with the actual truth…
Dr. Negative pulls a gigantic grinder out of his left pocket. It is labeled “Rumor Mill”. He turns the crank a few times. Hamsters, syringes, and Peace symbols fly out.
Dr. Negative: Yes…Yes…
He is salivating.
McCain: They will have to be so incredible, so over-the-top, based on such tawdry and poorly sourced evidence, yet riddled with tempting minutia–bullet gauges, Google maps of supposed meetings and the like, that the right will eat them up, and start analyzing the minutia with adolescent glee.
Dr. Negative (Very calmly, matter of fact): Oh, that’s easy. They’ll eat anything.
Dr. Negative reaches into his back pocket, pulls out a manila envelope labeled “Minutia: So-called “Proof” for the Right”. He empties it to the floor. Bullet gauge measures, outdated copies of Photoshop, paperbacks entitled “How to Use the Insane as Competent Witnesses”, “The Faked Moon Landings! Roswell! And Other Believable Phenomena!” and “You TOO Can Be A Warrior–From Your Own Couch!” fall to the floor.
Sarah plucks out the “Faked Moon Landings” book. She starts reading.
McCain: We know how our girl loves to read.
Sarah stops, and begins fixing her hair in a hand mirror.
McCain: Now, Dr. Negative, there is one final task.
Dr. Negative: Yes, Mr. McCain?
McCain: It is very difficult. Very…dark.
Dr. Negative: (Leaning forward expectantly, his voice quivering with excitement): Yes, Mr. McCain, Yes?
McCain: You will have to play the card that they played against me. Do you understand?
The room becomes silent. Sarah stops looking at herself, and looks towards the center of the room where McCain and Dr. Negative are staring at each other.
Dr. Negative: You mean…(eyes widened with disbelief. His telephone wires are quietly shaking as he shivers).
McCain (nodding): Yes.
Dr. Negative slowly removes from his jacket pocket what seems to be an ordinary pack of playing cards. They are labeled “Joker” brand. He takes a penknife from his pocket, and slowly slices the covering cellophane. There is a slight and distant roar. He looks at McCain.
McCain nods.
Dr. Negative then slowly removes the red ribbon encircling the cellophane at the top of the pack. He inserts the penknife–holding it from it very farthest end–and flips open the top of the pack.
Smoke begins to pour from the top of the pack, thick, acrid smoke. It quickly fills the room, covering all that is in sight.
McCain (shouting amidst the sound of smoke rushing into the room): And remember–no fingerprints!

Obama really didn’t know Ayers very well, even though he served on boards with him, worked with him, associated with him, and was given a neighborhood fundraiser by Ayers. The same situation has risen from the start on his association with Rezko. He didn’t know him very well? Yet, he and Michelle went to Rezko’s home on the lake, they made a sweetheart deal to get him an expensive house, and he really did not know anything about the underlying politics of Chicago and Rezko’s political favors to him and Michelle’s huge increase in salary. Furthermore, he really did not know his “spiritual mentor” Rev. Wright very well, even though he sat in his church for twenty years. Please! It is about his associations, how he was close to them, and who facilitated his rise in Chicago politics. Most of all, it is about his JUDGEMENT. How many “bone-headed” passes is he allowed?
Judgement is a big issue. Lack of experience is his weakest link. People try to compare Palin to Biden. That is a smoke screen. Compare his experience to McCain’s experience and judgement. We do not need his lack of judgement and lack of experience, and his constant double-talk to explain what he meant to say. He repeatedly backtracked on Iraq, on the surge, on Afghanistan, on Iran, on Russia’s incursion into Georgia, and so many other missteps. Send him to Germany for another big rock concert. Obama’s Health Plan Is Worthless and Causes Sickness
The number of prescriptions taken per capita in the United States has grown exponentially in the past 75 years. In 1929, the average American received less than two prescriptions per year. By 2007, the average annual prescription rate per capita in the United States was:
• 4 prescriptions per child (age 0-18)
• Over 11 prescriptions per adult (age 19-64)
• Nearly 29 prescriptions per senior, aged 65 and over!
Yet, adverse drug reactions — from “properly” prescribed drugs — are actually the fourth leading cause of death in the United States. Only heart disease, cancer, and stroke kill more Americans than drugs prescribed by medical doctors.
Reactions to prescription drugs kill more than twice as many Americans as HIV/AIDS or suicide. Fewer die from accidents or diabetes than adverse drug reactions. And this does NOT include the negative drug reactions in outpatients, cases of malpractice, or instances where the drugs were not taken as directed.
Yet, whenever you feel sick, you probably still think that you need to go to your doctor and get some medicine to make you better. Well, this mindset is deeply engrained in us from the time we’re infants and taken to the doctor for a minor cold, or given a pill to bring down a fever (which is actually there to help you get better) or watch a television commercial or read a magazine (at least in the US).
We’re taught that we need doctors and drugs to heal our bodies, when in reality your body can, and will, heal itself if you give it the right tools (like good food, exercise and a positive outlook).
If you take only one thing from this article, make it this point: Drugs often cause more problems than the disease you’re trying to treat.

You are apparently too ignorant, or to anti-Obama to actually read what the plan entails. It is not mandatory. You can go to any doctors you like. If you already have existing insurance, then you can completely ignore the national insurance plan. It is a health insurance plan, period.. one that is not only affordable, but will be available to those with pre-existing conditions that cannot get insurance anywhere else. It will create a pool of carriers, and participation is completely optional. In addition, it actually encourages employers to provide insurance coverage and gives them tax breaks for doing so. McCains plan is simply deregulation, shifting to private coverage, and a band-aid tax credit. He has no provision for pre-existing conditions, and will result in more americans simply losing coverage. Remember, both plans cost roughly the same, but under Obamas, the same (per-capita) dollar will be more efficient in terms of coverage by almost a 7 to 1 ratio.
The choice is simple. Same price; one will provide insurance for more Americans, one will provide insurance for less.
although I can already tell your mind is closed to anything with the ‘obama’ label attached, which is a shame for the rest of us poor working slobs out here who consider ourselves true americans.

I had pre-existing conditions when I left my job which had an excellent plan. As long as you don’t drop coverage for 60 days any insurance company is required to accept you at the same level. Companies are required to pay your insurance coverage for up to 18 months while you find another job or buy your own policy.
That’s what I did. Five years later and I have the same coverage in spite of a couple heart attacks and a triple bypass.

You need to stop blindly accepting Obama’s propaganda. You’ll end up paying a LOT more under Obama’s plan. McCains plan will save every family $2,000 a year…not exactly small change. And give them the chance to get improved coverage. It may cause some to loce their company paid plans which is a great benefit. In exchange you can get much better coverage for $2,000 less. And the competition among insurers will reduce the cost for everyone.

Obama’s claim of $2500 savings is fantasy. McCain’s is real…$5000 deduction.
The vast majority of uninsured are illegal aliens, their families, and people under 35 who are healthy, just finished school and getting a job (usually takes 3 months for coverage to kick in), in between jobs, of like most young people, have better things to spend their money on.
Another large group are children who are already covered by some child health program I forget the name of, but whose parents simply don’t enroll them. There are many thousands of them in my state unfortunately.
McCain’s plan covers most of the rest. Forcing people into coverage they don’t want puts a hardship on the rest of us.
Covering illegal aliens is a waste of money. Fear of getting deported will keep all of them going to emergency rooms and using false names.

Will the media ask questions about the Obama-Ayers relationship and its beginnings before 1995, when Ayers helped arranged the hiring of Obama as head of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge and maintained a close relationship of its board for years?
Here are some questions the media should be asking and did not ask throughout the long primary season, abdicating its responsibility. Imagine what would have happened if the media had fully vetted Obama and practiced journalism as they should have done.
1.When did Barack Obama first meet Bill Ayers? Was it in New York City? Under what circumstances? Was it at Cooper Union when Ayers was a graduate student there and Obama at Columbia? Was it at Columbia when Ayers was at the teachers’ college?
2.Did Ayers play any role in Obama coming to Chicago as an organizer in 1985? Did the Ayers influence the Woods Fund in any way to subsidize through the Gamaliel Foundation Obama’s job? (The Woods Fund was created by the family of the Safari Coal Company, a major supplier of Commonwealth Edison, whose CEO was Thomas Ayers.)
3.Did Ayers introduce Obama the organizer to his family, his father Tom and brother John? Did they involve Obama in the school reform movement they led in Chicago?
4.Did the Ayers family help Obama become a summer associate at Sidley Austen, the father’s company’s law firm?
5.Did Bernardine Dohrn know Michelle Robinson when they both worked at Sidley at the same time? Did she or Ayers introduce Michelle to Barack at Sidley?
6.Did Dohrn, who attended the University of Chicago Law School with Judson Miner, play any part in helping Obama get a job at the Davis Miner law firm?

It was forty years ago today that Barack Obama friend and political ally, and unrepentant terrorists, William Ayers was arrested while protesting the DNC proceedings. William Ayers set no bombs that day, but he was only working his way up from petty criminal to domestic terrorist. The AIP founder, Joe Vogler, made the comments in 1991, in an interview that’s now housed at the Oral History Program in the Rasmuson Library at the University of Alaska, Fairbanks.
“The fires of hell are frozen glaciers compared to my hatred for the American government,” Vogler said in the interview, in which he talked extensively about his desire for Alaskan secession, the key goal of the AIP.
“And I won’t be buried under their damn flag,” Vogler continued in the interview, which also touched on his disappointment with the American judicial system. “I’ll be buried in Dawson. And when Alaska is an independent nation they can bring my bones home.”

Pawlenty criticizes Obama for Ayers event

WASHINGTON, Oct. 5 (UPI) — Republican presidential nominee John McCain’s supporters Sunday took aim at Democrat Barack Obama’s association with a “domestic terrorist.”
Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, who supports McCain, criticized Obama’s association with William Ayers, whose 1960s group, the Weathermen, committed bombings on the Pentagon, the U.S. Capitol and across the nation.
“Now Barack Obama at the time was 8 or 9 years old, or whatever, but that’s not the point, the point is this same individual, Bill Ayers, hosted some sort of political event at his home for Barack Obama when Barack was running for state Legislature in Illinois when he was well into his 30s,” Pawlenty said. “It goes to the issue of what kind of judgment would allow an unrepentant domestic terrorist to host a political event for you in his home, in the terrorist’s home.”
Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, an Obama supporter, said what the voters are concerned about is the economy, not negative attacks on a candidate.
“Well, you’ve seen a 26-year Senate veteran morph into an angry, desperate candidate in the last few weeks, especially in the last few days,” Brown said of McCain “And it just kind of makes me sad … that John McCain and Sarah Palin are resorting to these tactics.”

1. Yes, Sarah Palin is being drug around in the dirt because she is a Republican woman and how dare the person call Sarah a Caribou Barbie! That is one of the most sexist comments, yet. 2.It keeps coming up about the Bridge to Nowhere. Obama has ALSO been in favor of MANY things and then changed his mind….Israel/Pakistan…Russian/Georgia, etc. but NO-ONE dwells on that. In fact, he can’t make a decision; he just goes with the flow after asking dozens of advisors. He is charmismatic, I will give him that but charisma isn’t what we need. Some of you mentioned that McCain’s heroism doesn’t qualify him for the White House…well,okay then…neither does being a charismatic celebrity. Obama would be a great film star. He loves the spotlight. He’s an eloquent speaker. I’ve heard that John McCain is not. Hmmm…someone who’s become good at smoothly eloquent speaking probably has learned to make words work for him and twist them when necessary and people won’t even notice.
3. I’ve noticed that some are comparing Palin’s lack of experience and background to Obama. How come they are not doing the same comparison on McCain and Obama? Why is Joe Biden not the one that is being compared to her? At least, I have not seen much to that;maybe someone can fill me in on somewhere I could see this.
4. It seems Palin has so many sins in her life and McCain, too. Then,I guess the Democrats are without sin. They are presenting themselves as perfect. Too bad the voters are not nearly as perfect as Obama. In the Bible, there was a story about an adulteress that was getting ready to be stoned to death. Jesus told them “Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.” The Dems have done a great job of casting the stones and hitting Palin.
And, let’s not forget the Democrat who was President, and even though I’m not a Democrat, he did a decent job of the duties in office, yet he was an adulterer while in the office that he was elected to, disappointing Americans, but in this whole election,no one, not even the Republicans (except this one) has brought that up;(which is right thing NOT to do)maybe, it is because we all have skeletons in our closet. Have you ever thought what would come out if you ran for office?
5. The newstands are full of articles tearing Palin down, but I’ve yet to see the faces of Obama (the liberal media’s little darling) or Joe Biden on the covers presented in a negative way. I agree with one blogger who said that these publications are only ruining themselves. Let’s do real journalistic reporting…report the facts, Jack on both sides, both negative and positive and let the readers decide. I would absolutely LOVE to see an article in a mag that compares Obama to McCain and in the same mag Palin to Biden, side by side on issues, skeletons in the closets, biographies, awards and honors….maybe in the form of resumes so the American public could compare and then at the polls hire the ticket they think would be the best for the job.
6. Finally, and then, I’m through. I understand it may be good to understand the candidates’ views based on their faith but it is a little undeserving to undermine one for “praying” that God’s will be done. Our country was founded on a faith in the One True God, The Creator and our laws and values were built upon the Christian faith, but now, it’s not politically correct to be a Christian,no one must renounce their deep beliefs in order to please everyone. I couldn’t see one bit of hatred in the video that has been circulating where she spoke at her church in Alaska. Praying for someone does not cause hatred or racism or sexism. Their beliefs in their faith did not say they hated gays,only that they would be praying for them. And, in the privacy of a church building, they may do whatever (within the law) that they believe. Now that Obama has disowned his pastor, no one has mentioned anymore about how that church shaped his views. They are afraid to because of the venomous rhetoric that came from the pastor’s mouth. Does anyone know what Biden believes;have they gone to a church he attends or does he attend one? What about McCain? What are his religious values? So, then, why does that play into the equation with Palin? I could understand if she were part of an anti-government,hate religion. The most she could be convicted of in her faith is saying that she believes in praying to God, asking His will for the country. Go back in history to other presidents; many were men who prayed or sought God’s will. At least, the great ones did.
Thank you, both Republicans and Democrats for letting me air my feelings. How, sometimes I wish we didn’t have parties. I can’t stand the division and hatred that ensues. Especially when we say “United we stand, Divided we fall.” Let’s just let each other vote our consciences or faith or whatever standard and quit yelling at each other. I really hope that people in other countries don’t read our comments because it will show the United States are not so united after all. And…I will be praying for this election, that God will put in the candidates He wants (and, although I will vote Republican which is voting based on my faith) I know that whichever party gets in will be because God put them there “for such a time as this” and I will relax and support the Preident of the United States and respect the office.

Lawmakers subpoenaed seven state employees to testify in the inquiry but they challenged those subpoenas. After a judge rejected that challenge last week, the employees decided to testify, Alaska Attorney General Talis Colberg said.
Democratic state Sen. Hollis French, who is managing the investigation, said that, following the court ruling, he again asked Palin and her husband, Todd, whether they planned to testify.
“We’ve had no response,” French said Sunday.

One hundred years later, the system is “overcrowded, under-funded, over-centralized and racist,” Ayers said.

Author, former offender among speakers

Children who kill are called “super predators,” “people with no conscience,” “feral pre-social beings” — and “adults.”
William Ayers, author of A Kind and Just Parent: The Children of Juvenile Court (Beacon Press, 1997), says “We should call a child a child. A 13-year-old who picks up a gun isn’t suddenly an adult. We have to ask other questions: How did he get the gun? Where did it come from?”
Ayers, who spent a year observing the Cook County Temporary Juvenile Detention Center in Chicago, is one of four panelists who will speak on juvenile justice at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, in the C-Shop. The panel, which marks the 100th anniversary of the juvenile justice system in the United States, is part of the Community Service Center’s monthly discussion series on issues affecting the city of Chicago. The event is free and open to the public.
Ayers will be joined by Sen. Barack Obama, Senior Lecturer in the Law School, who is working to combat legislation that would put more juvenile offenders into the adult system; Randolph Stone, Director of the Mandel Legal Aid Clinic; Alex Correa, a reformed juvenile offender who spent seven years in Cook County Temporary Detention Center; Frank Tobin, a former priest and teacher at the Detention Center who helped Correa; and Willy Baldwin, who grew up in public housing and is currently a teacher at the Detention Center.
The juvenile justice system was founded by Chicago reformer Jane Addams, who advocated the establishment of a separate court system for children which would act like a “kind and just parent” for children in crisis.
One hundred years later, the system is “overcrowded, under-funded, over-centralized and racist,” Ayers said.
Michelle Obama, Associate Dean of Student Services and Director of the University Community Service Center, hopes bringing issues like this to campus will open a dialogue between members of the University community and the broader community.
“Students and faculty explore these issues in the classroom, but it is an internal conversation,” Obama said. “We know that issues like juvenile justice impact the city of Chicago, this nation and — directly or indirectly — this campus. This panel gives students a chance to hear about the juvenile justice system not only on a theoretical level, but from the people who have experienced it.”
As the article notes, Michelle Obama was the Director of the University Of Chicago’s Community Service program at the time.
So this panel was surely her doing. She invited Mr. Ayers.
Still, we all must be mistaken, since we have been repeatedly reassured that Mr. Ayers “was just a guy who lived in the Obamas’ neighborhood.”

As usual, Palin is borderline incoherent. The problem isn’t just that she tells the same lies over and over again; the problem is also that she doesn’t even think about or question the validity of what she’s saying.
I think this means it is time for Obama to mention her and her husband’s association with the Alaskan secessionist group and McCain’s association with G. Gordon Liddy and Keating, as he is beginning to do.
Obama should fight back on this.

He did nothing for the people on the southside of Chicago. In 1995 he met Ayers and that’s when Ayers campaigned for him and gave him large donations to win that seat. Obama played dirty pool to a woman that was going to run against him named Alice J. Palmer who he accused of having false signatures. He took her to court and won the case. Then Alan Keyes ran for the senate against Obama and lost. William Ayers had connections in that neighborhood with Rezko and Farrakhan who lives next door. Obama is running for president to make history like MLK because he read numerous books on him and it went to his head. If you think he is going to change politics in Washington think again. I know Chicago people better than you because I lived her all my life when the 1968 convention was disrupted by radicals like Ayers. He should have been given a life sentence for what he did and he stated the other day he would do it again. That’s Obama’s radical friends. And he will be at the white house along with Farrakhan. The people need to wake up in this country and read about the real Obama that hasn’t been told. FOX News had a video on the story of Obama’s first starting out in politics. Watch it next time and get a grip.

Deb: I don’t see your name in politics. Of is it that you just didn’t succeed in what you wanted to do and Palin did. There has been a lot of hate and jealousy over McCain picking her as this VP by women and men. This generation of college students will probably never accomplish their goals in life because according to the internet 52% were on drugs. Obama got where he is because of ties to crooks. Ayers campaigned for him for the senate and naturally the Chicago machine is going to vote for him that’s who he got in. He got acquainted with wheelers and dealers. Obama didn’t want to be a senator but he had to do that first before he could run for president. He has been a nuisance ever since. Outside of that he and Nancy Pelosi played dirty politics to Hillary behind her back and she turned out to be a fool for campaigning for him.

Natasha: I seen that video on FOX NEWS the other night and it showed Obama signing a card with a black women on the southside of Chicago where he lived. It was stated that Obama was not a community organizer he was organizing himself for the presidency but had to be a senator first. He met William Ayers in 1995 and they have been friends ever since. Obama knew all about him and the bombings. Obama was anti-american and a racist at that time. Ayers gave him big donations for his campaign. But apparently he lost to Bobby Rush another radical. He ran again and won the senate seat in 2004 with the help of Ayers again. And Obama has solid ties to Acorn whose office just got raided in Las Vegas for vote fraud, writing in the names of the Dallas Cowboys. That is probably how Obama won his senate seat. He also became the attorney for Rezko and his crooked deals which Obama knows all about. The courts should call him in to testify. Rezko is making a deal with the courts to tell all.

DS: It is not silly when it comes down to who you associate with then want to president of this country. I live in Chicago, born and raised here, and seen the 1968 democratic convention become all hell on earth by the radicals. There were the Chicago 7. They disrupted the entire convention and Daley’s father was the mayor at the time. Ayers is nothing but a piece of trash along with his wife Bernadine who both went underground after the bombings. He should have spent 25 years to life for that. He is not the kind of person you associate with. He is an anti-american and Obama was himself years ago. And a racist. Michelle belonged to a racist organization at one time. They are not true americans of this country. And anyone who thinks so are in their same category.
