SOME RAMBLING THOUGHTS ON AMERICA
Fear is such a strange motivator, but at the same time it is a frightening and dangerous one. This country’s foundation of ideas and principles is what makes this country great and different from all other countries in the world- our Founding Fathers, the Declaration of Independence, and the Constitution are our inspiration and solace.
At this moment in time our nation has drifted far from the principles and vision laid out by our forefathers – individual liberty and responsibility, state’s rights, and minimization of federal government intrusion.
For years we have drifted toward a centralization of and dependency on federal government – a physical and psychological dependency that is ruining this country. History will show the turning point to be the Great Depression – a time of economic disaster. This point needs emphasis – a time of economic disaster. Does this sound familiar?
What was originally espoused as a temporary measure, with assumed good intent (the Great Deal), to help those in immediate need soon became part of the fabric of American society and for some a cultural and political way of thinking. The “new” Democrat party seized upon this moment of opportunity (ie., an economic crisis) to maintain and implement their vision of government controlled programs for American society. This changed the landscape of American culture and politics forever.
We now find ourselves at a time of economic ‘crisis’ – again, fear has been the main motivator. Therefore, it is no surprise that we looked to government to bail us out – we just passed one of the largest socialist principled laws in American history. We have come so far down the road of government dependency in our society it has created a physical and, more alarmingly, psychological mindset of dependency on the federal government for answers. There were many voices of reason on both sides of the political isle that had alternative, capitalist entrepreneurial principled solutions – American generated economic solutions – that were simply ignored.
As stated, America is in a financial ‘crisis’ never seen before since the Great Depression – so we are told. Historically, the world has made extreme and dangerous decisions at a time of economic turmoil – in fact, any rise of power of an extremist personality or a monumental conflict in world history can arguably be solely attributed to economic unrest. Whether it be fascist or communist regimes- the common theme is the implementation of a centralized governmental power resulting in dyer consequences not only for its people, but for the world. Government controlled policies on the thoughts and behavior of individuals – ie., fascism, communism, socialism and their subsequent takeover– take advantage of the vulnerability of individual human freedom in times of crisis.
America is and should remain different. In 1776, the beginnings of our nation was an experiment never before seen or experienced on the world stage. The elitists of Europe scoffed at the folksy commoners of this new country with arrogant expectations of failure. But we did not fail. We struggled and fought – from within and against outside forces – for our freedom and for our newborn country. We became unique. Rather than descend from an historical mindset of dictatorships, kings and queens as have our European friends, we now became the descendants of revolutionaries – free thinkers. This is our foundation. This is our cross to bear, our obligation forever.
Individuals innately desire freedom – freedom of thought, freedom of action, freedom of liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Our Declaration of Independence guarantees the pursuit of happiness – not happiness itself. Happiness is a self achieved fulfillment, not a government directive.
At the same time, democracy as a social organization may not be a natural human tendency. Though we may espouse and desire individual freedoms we seek comfort and security and, therefore, are vulnerable to extremism in times of unrest. During such times of conflict, we gravitate to individuals who can inspire and lead. We put our trust in such leadership. It is this trust during hard times that may blind us – this is the vulnerability of human freedom and democracy.
Democracy and the maintenance of its ideals and principles is hard work– it should never be comfortable and taken for granted. Though it can be the most powerful force and inspiration in the world it is at the same time fragile and can be taken away in an instant or gradually eroded as its principles slowly fade with time. America has become lazy both intellectually and politically. We have insulated ourselves from our surroundings with our excesses and self gratification. We are selfish – whether it be with our nice cars or our expectation of federal government handouts – we have lost our way.
We are now at a crossroad, a moment in history that will change the sociopolitical future of America. Now, more than ever, is not the time to compromise the core principles laid down by our Founding Fathers.
Senator Obama has no doubt benefited politically from this present economic turmoil. We must ask ourselves – Is he the solution? Does his vision exude and support the principles and ideals laid down by our Founding Fathers?
Senator Obama will open the arms of the federal government – the likes of which we have not seen since the Great Depression (one trillion dollars in new government programs!!) – to solve our problems and lessen the burden of individual responsibility. These arms will wrap around us smothering and extinguishing the glowing remains of the ideals of the American Revolution of 1776.
The growth of the federal government and the ever increasing dependency and reliance on centralized government will further entrench the American mindset to such expectations and therefore, make it increasingly difficult to change.
If we were to hold up the ideals and vision of Senator Obama to the principles of our Founding Fathers it can only be viewed as radical and foreign. It is government control at the expense of individual freedom – the exact principles we revolted against – the belief system our ancestors fought with their blood and their lives to prevent from ever returning.
Not all battles and wars are fought with guns. It is time to stand up as individuals and demonstrate to America and the world that we are different and will remain unique. We will never fall prey to the elitists we so soundly rejected in the past. We are Americans – we are individuals who will always come together independent of any government directive or mandate to support one another and achieve the unachievable.

This tactic was so, so predictable. The Bush/McCain/Palin campaign continues to wage an old, tired campaign strategy during a time when voters are actually paying attention. Newsflash! it’s not going to work. We won’t be distracted.

My state, the state of California, is in ruin. I was born here 49 years ago, and in that time it went from the “Golden State” to a state of ruin.
As a Californian and an American citizen, it is hard for me and my fellow citizens of California to admit we are no longer what we once were.

Both parties are conducting politics as usual. They tell us what we want to hear and then do the exact opposite. So we have a chose between the lesser of two evils. What’s new? We do it every four years. It would be refreshing to have someone running that will tell the truth and don’t anyone say that Obama is cause I’ll call you a liar.

It appears that the McCain camp has concluded that they can’t win this election on either the issues, their policies, the recent history of their party, their own experience or their skills. Why else are they resorting to an attempt to smear their opponent with baseless fear, uncertainty and doubt (FUD).
Palin and McCain and their campaign organization know that the accusations Palin is making are false. If they are willing to try and knowingly mislead the American public about the patriotism of their opponent then what else will they try and pull on us if they get elected.
Up until this point I considered McCain an honest and honorable man and a worthy presidential candidate. I was an undecided voter.
I have not heard Obama or Biden trying to defame either MCain or Palin.
If McCain has to resort to these types of tactics to win then he has forgotten his honor and he has forgotten his pledge to run a clean campaign. McCain and Palin do not deserve my vote. This issue has helped me make my decision – and it is to not vote for Palin and McCain.

OurCountry, the story I heard is that in Ohio you can register and vote the same day. So they are shipping in homeless people, setting them up in shelters as a ‘place of residence’, getting them registered then taking them to vote. After that they are giving them a bus ticket home, presumably to other states. How anyone can track this is beyond me.

While the Ayers connection is one that should be studied deeper by voters, real concern should erupt over charges that Obama is not a natural born citizen as required by the Constitution to be President.
From what I have read, the main questions revolve around the content of the birth certificate. One article says that Obama’s birth certificate is being hidden because his middle name is Mohammed. According to missionary Loren Davis and his wife Celeste, while working in Kenya they were told that Obama’s middle name was Mohammed. According to his birth certificate, however, Obama’s middle name is “Hussein.”
Another story says Obama’s mother, Ann Dunham, did not name him after his father, but instead named him Barry. Most of Obama’s childhood friends called him Barry, and he did not begin calling himself Barack until sometime in 1980. Despite this possible nickname, Obama’s first name is listed on his birth certificate as “Barack.”
Another story questions the place of his birth. The writer says that Barack Obama was born in Kenya, and may not legally be a natural-born citizen.
Interesting suggestions, but I will have to investigate more before deciding.
And, save it, Obama bloggers. Websites such as “fact check” and “snopes” have no more authority on information than any other website.

If Obama is elected president and commander in chief of our great democratic country, I want our state to pull out of the union. We have that right and I do believe the majority of the people of our state would do so. We do not want a leader who is a closet communist.

Next, let’s examine Obama’s claim that his connection to Ayers and Dohrn is “tenuous” and “phony.” Is it phony that Obama’s political coming-out party in the mid-1990s was hosted by Ayers and Dohrn? What about the panel discussions in which Ayers and Obama both took part—that were organized by Michelle Obama? Tenuous? I suppose the goodbye party for prominent Israel basher and Arafat apologist Rashid Khalidi, attended by Obama, Ayers and Dohrn, is also unworthy of discussion. That Khalidi himself hosted a fundraiser for Obama’s first Congressional campaign must be completely irrelevant, too.

Irrelevant, phony distractions? So what if the Obama campaign’s top strategist concedes that the Senator’s relationship with the terrorist is “friendly”? I apologize for even devoting this much attention to such tenuous and unimportant information.
Obama’s “fact” sheet then brings us the crucial bulletin that all charges against Ayers were dropped, and that he spent no time in jail. Absolutely true. Except a minor detail was omitted: Ayers openly admits he is “guilty as sin” but “free as a bird.” Charges were dropped because federal authorities overstepped their legal bounds in pursuing the Weathermen, not because the charges were unfounded. Perhaps this distinction was too nuanced for a man who found it appropriate to compare his racist pastor to his own grandmother, and an unrepentant terrorist to a respected United States Senator. The Obama campaign also curiously chose not to “fact check” Bernadine Dohrn’s criminal record, which includes a seven-month stint in jail for refusing to cooperate with a murder investigation.
Finally, and maybe most preposterously, the document pronounces Ayers and Dohrn to be “respectable” members of the “mainstream” community. After all, it has been seven years or so since Ayers said he didn’t regret setting bombs. That’s ancient history. Today, these folks are pillars of the level-headed, mainstream Chicago community. Enter the audio.
I happened upon this content as I conducted some basic research into Ayers and Dohrn for a special report my boss, Sandy Rios, was planning to run on her daily radio program in Chicago. The former terrorists both gave speeches at a reunion of aging radicals in November of 2007, and the audio is available on the web for anyone with a computer to hear. Considering that The Sandy Rios Show is a relatively small operation without a small army of researchers at our disposal, I initially assumed that the intrepid journalists that populate our mainstream media had beaten us to the punch on this story. They hadn’t. The audio linked above clearly demonstrates that the terrorist tandem is neither respectable nor mainstream by any reasonable definition.
Dohrn refers to America as “the beast” and “the monster” while rambling on about the United States’ obsession with empire and our white supremacist way of life. She says she believes the US government to be the greatest purveyor of violence in the world. Ayers, not to be outdone, cheers an ongoing “spirit of rebellion…and resistance.” He favorably quotes Mao Zedong’s premier, Zhou Enlai. He calls contemporary America a place of “great stress, and oppression, and authoritarianism,” and bemoans “a kind of rising incipient American form of fascism.” (Jonah Goldberg, call your office). Does Barack Obama expect Americans to believe these deranged rantings represent anything close to mainstream commentary?
As more and more facts about Obama’s relationship with Ayers and Dohrn emerge, expect the Obamites to intensify their insistence that such matters are “distractions,” “old politics,” or—as Andrew Sullivan has already labeled this issue—part of the right wing “freakshow.” With all due respect, I’m not sure “freakshow” is the most effective pejorative to hurl at those being critical of two unrepentant anti-American terrorists. As the Obama campaign continues in its efforts to kill this story, they’d be well served to avoid issuing any more “fact” sheets riddled with half-truths, lies of omission, and falsifiable claims.
Might I suggest a high-profile speech from Obama to open up a “national dialogue” on the roots of domestic terrorism?

Glad to see someone from the McCain campaign finally speaking out on the Ayers connection. Hopefully they will also educate the democrats about the other terrorists ties like Hatem El-Hady. He was the chairman of the Islamic foundation “Kindhearts” which was shut down by the U.S. Tresury Dept in 2006 and their assets were frozen. He is also on the FBI watchlist for funneling money to Hamas.
He had a dedication page to Obama on Obama’s official website until April 2008 when his story got out, it suddenly vanished. He also has raised hundreds of thousands for Obama’s campaign.

ACORN has often been in the news since 2004. Officially, they work to register voters and support housing. In reality, everyone in public life knows that they are hardcore supporters for the Democratic Party, and employ bare-knuckle tactics. Despite the current financial crisis, there are many reasons to trust that the U.S. will, as always, rebound.

A visiting Israeli Cabinet minister made two interesting points at a conference in Washington over the weekend. The current financial crisis, he said, is undermining the perception of American power when it comes to dealing with problems such as the Iranian nuclear program, Russian adventurism or the growing threat from Hamas and Hezbollah. Various actors around the world look at the U.S. and see a crippled giant. That reduces incentives to make concessions to Washington.
That problem is real, but so is the additional sentiment that he expressed after having been here for a few days. The economic woes of the U.S., he found, are not as readily apparent up close as they are in sensational media coverage abroad.
So far, Main Street has shown a surprising amount of resiliency given the problems of Wall Street. Even if the economy eventually succumbs to recession, as now appears more likely, it will bounce back before long. It always has.
There have been plenty of crises in the past — the stagflation and oil-price spikes of the 1970s, the savings and loan debacle and soaring trade and budget deficits of the 1980s, the popping of the dot-come bubble and the terrorist attacks in the early 2000s — that led many observers to predict that the United States would soon go the way of Rome.
What the pessimists ignore is that the fundamentals of the U.S. economy remain strong. Indeed, the World Economic Forum has ranked the United States as the world’s most competitive economy for the last two years. (The new survey comes out next month.) Its statistics show that per-capita gross domestic product in the U.S. consistently has grown faster than in other developed economies since 1980.
Looking deeper at the causes of American competitiveness shows that we score especially strongly not only in domestic market size (No. 1 in the world) but also in such areas as time required to start a business (No. 3), venture capital availability (No. 1), the cost of firing an employee (No. 1), ownership of personal computers (No. 2), university/industry research collaboration (No. 1) and quality of scientific research institutions (No. 2). The availability of venture capital might be affected temporarily by the market turmoil, and we should worry if Democrats gain control of both ends of Pennsylvania Avenue in November because they might exacerbate what the survey found to be the two most “problematic” issues for doing business in the U.S. — high tax rates and cumbersome tax regulations.
But whatever happens in the next few months, most of the other advantages that have been powering the U.S. economy forward for decades will remain unchanged.
So too will another vital statistic: population growth. According to federal statistics, the fertility rate in the U.S., where each woman has on average 2.1 children, is now the highest among major industrialized economies. We are above replacement level while Europe, Japan and other industrialized economies have long been beneath it. That means that, even as our major competitors have to cope with graying populations, declining productivity and increasing pension costs, our population will remain relatively youthful and vibrant, notwithstanding the retirement of the baby boomers. This advantage is enhanced by our ability to attract and integrate hardworking immigrants from around the world.
America’s competitors display other weaknesses that become apparent in times of crisis. As Harvard economic historian Niall Ferguson noted over the weekend in the Washington Post, while the U.S. stock market has declined roughly 18% this year, China has seen a fall of 48% and Russia of 55%. “These figures are not very good advertisements for the more regulated, state-led economic models favored in Beijing and Moscow,” he wrote.
Although the current crisis exposes vulnerabilities in the American financial system, it also shows one of our greatest strengths: the ability of our politicos to cross party lines and formulate a decisive response in a time of crisis. We saw that kind of bipartisan action after 9/11, and there is a good chance that we will see it now — assuming that lawmakers can agree on a bailout package that makes sense.
Contrast that with Japan’s dithering, delayed response after its real estate and stock market bubbles burst in 1990. A sclerotic political system dragged out its recovery for more than a decade and put paid to predictions — heard so often in the 1980s — that Japan would supplant the U.S. as the world’s economic powerhouse.
Given America’s record of resiliency, it would be foolish to “short” our prospects based on recent turmoil. The smart money will stay “bullish on America,” even if that was Merrill Lynch’s slogan before its downfall.

McCain is covering up his wife’s Mafia connections, his own gampling connections with organized crime, Keating 5, etc.
These two ‘fronts’ for the oil/military/security/disaster/industrial complex will stop at nothing to prevent America getting free of them and the Mafia.

McCain: They will have to be so incredible, over-the-top, based on such tawdry and poorly sourced evidence, yet riddled with tempting minutia–bullet gauges, Google maps of supposed meetings and the like, that the right will eat them up, and start analyzing the minutia with adolescent glee.
Dr. Negative (Very calmly, matter of fact): Oh, that’s easy. They’ll eat anything.
Dr. Negative reaches into his back pocket, pulls out a manila envelope labeled “Minutia: So-called “Proof” for the Right”. He empties it to the floor. Bullet gauge measures, outdated copies of Photoshop, paperbacks entitled “How to Use the Insane as Competent Witness”, “The Faked Moon Landings! Roswell! And Other Believable Phenomena!” and “You TOO Can Be A Warrior–From Your Own Couch!” fall to the floor.
Sarah plucks out the “Faked Moon Landings” book. She starts reading.

Sarah stops, and begins fixing her hair in a hand mirror.
McCain: Now, Dr. Negative, there is one final task.

Dr. Negative slowly removes from his jacket pocket what seems to be an ordinary pack of playing cards. They are labeled “Joker” brand. He takes a penknife from his pocket, and slowly slices the covering cellophane. There is a slight and distant roar. He looks at McCain.
McCain nods.
Dr. Negative then slowly removes the red ribbon encircling the cellophane at the top of the pack. He inserts the penknife–holding it from it very farthest end–and flips open the top of the pack.
Smoke begins to pour from the top of the pack, thick, acrid smoke. It quickly fills the room, covering all that is in sight.
McCain (shouting amidst the sound of smoke rushing into the room): And remember–no fingerprints!

I AM AFRAID OF OBAMA! I took a test online to see if I were a Democrat or Republican. Results showed I was independent. I am 57 year old female and not too much into politics. I have not been able to sleep at night for months because of the nomination of Obama. I am not prejudice and have black friends. I am SCARED to death of Obama. I took one look at him and felt very uneasy. I feel people are being brain washed. I remember when Bill Clinton was on the campaign trail and thinking to myself “he is a womanizer”. I believe Bill did a good job but I also was right about him being a “womanizer”. I think Obama will ruin this country. He smokes 3 packs of cigarettes a day and I feel he is very hyper. (I just quit smoking 2 years ago) I have nothing against smokers…I m not a very religious person but I believe that he is the one that will head us toward the END. He is very inexperienced but that is not my entire concern. I believe that he is a radical and is very very dangerous to this country. As far as patriotic taxes, I find it laughable that the GOP seems to find it very patriotic to pay taxes to pay for a trillion dollar war, but somehow unpatriotic to have used that same money to have paid for universal health care coverage, infrastructure here at home that could have put hundreds of thousands to work, and investment into alternative energy that would get us off fossil fuels, all of which could have been done under this administration with hat level of spending. Such programs would have been cost neutral by the end of 8 years based solely on our ability to use existing and proved technology to reduce foreign oil purchases by 50%. So when you want to associate a candidate with terrorists: associate Bush, McCain and the GOP. Thanks to them, and the war they declared that had nothing to do with terrorism, the Constitution is in shambles, our economy is near bankrupt, our moral standing worldwide devastated, and our domestic policies draconian. Thank you Bush/McCain and GOP, the terrorists have won the only way they could, they got America to destroy itself.

DEAR people,
I love you-both Democrats and Republicans,
because you are human beings first and my fellow Americans. I’ve really been on the fence this time. I’m not really buying either side. I worry that because we so emotionally want change we could make a grave mistake, and I worry that because we are sometimes afraid of change, we could also make a grave mistake. (As for me, the one I thought I’d vote for didn’t make it to the “finals”). I feel truely STUCK with the choices left for me. The one thing that’s on my heart to say is this: Can we just for one critical, crucial time not be SO worried about our candidate and our “Party” to the degree that we are SLAMMING each other for our beliefs? Can we NOT DO THAT? When I read it on the blogs/hear it- it makes me want to run. I block you out. Give me true reason-WITHOUT all of the “screaming”!
Our country has become SO divided. A land divided against itself cannot stand. What ever happened to common courtesy, respect?
I talk with others often that don’t always share my views. I listen, and have respect for THEM. I’ve noticed that people seem to HATE people they don’t agree with. Their tone sounds uncivilized to me. I’ve had some get angry with me. WHY? Do they think this tactic will change my mind? NOT AT ALL.
What I like to know are the hard facts- not just opinions. I want information to research myself. Give me Names, Dates, Documents, Organizations, Statutes, Codes, the Cities, States, Times (not just the New York Times- ALL writing is slanted by personal opinion or background). All that one reads on the Internet is about 90% false or opinion. People are led around by the nose through it. I say that because this is what they often quote to me-hearsay! I think 90% of the people believe about anything they read (or hear). That’s sad because they’ll be misled. It’s interesting for me to note that the Word of God- the ONLY real truth as far as I am concerned notes that in the last days “that which is good will be called evil, and that which is evil will be called good. Then I look at some of the unreal current changes in our country. I am concerned for those very real unprecedented changes that WILL come. As for myself, I’m a paralegal student. I love it when people make a case, and they can back it up with something substantial-proof or personal EXPERIENCE. If they don’t, their “voice” just sound like so many others that are just words “beating the against the winds”.
It seems that people like to “hear” themselves talk alot. (This is only the second blog I’ve ever written in to). What is truth is called a lie anymore, and what is a lie is called truth. What a sad state of affairs! What a sad state for our country to be in right now. So many of us will be hurt by the economy and by WHOEVER gets into office, I believe. It was probably the TERRORISTS that started the rumor.
I guess because of MY OWN PERSONAL EXPERIENCE I’m saying “WARNING”!!!!!!!! …One day I was crossing a crosswalk in a small town where I lived, (about a year ago),
and as I crossed, I noticed the man driving was wearing a black turban. I thought “He doesn’t look like he’s from here. I wonder what country he’s from? (Not too serious). I just glanced back at his license plate. Big deal, right? Not so much… The driver who WAS CLEARLY headed EAST across the crosswalk-just waiting for the green light SUDDENLY cut to the left across the turn lane and darted in and out of cars after he’d turned left almost hitting two(to turn around back to my direction). I thought to note him then! I crossed south, then crossed east to sit at my bus stop. Within a couple of minutes, I looked up to see that his car had JUMPED out from behind the long hedge to my left, and on seeing me see him- he nervously jerked his car Quickly forward and backward from behind it several times then lunged out into the traffic turnig WEST and speeding too! I went to work, and while there, my boss noted several Moslem women coming by and oddly looking into the window. That night, the same car sped across the huge parking lot out across the busy street and waited in the car (car on) for what turned out to be awhile. In the meantime, a moslem man I call Ali-kababba jumped across the street at me and swooped into the Jack-in-the-Box restaurant. He came right in after me, standing next to me.
As I bent down to put my money away I noticed his brand new tennis-type shoes-black canvass with white trim and their symbols in white on the black. Very noticeable. At the college I attend clear across town on my first day, a fully dressed Moslem women walked up to my face as I had just turned from reading something on a board in a deserted hall. She came about 6-8 inches from my face, looking me in the eyes. When I asked if I could help her, she turned on her heels without speaking a word to me and walked away. I know she was trying to intimidate me and let me know they knew where I was. Also the busses I take were suddenly filled with many of the Muslim people. They just stared at me. I’d say “Hi” to test them and they wouldn’t talk to me. We started to get “police escorts” home at night on my bus about 1/2 the way home. Maybe it was something else, but I have to wonder… Moslem women continued to peer into the shop window at work. Interesting. There’s more, but I think you get the picture. These are some very seriuos people. I DO BELIEVE that we need to be watchers on the wall, and protect ourselves! Let’s please pay attention! I’m just sharing MY EXPERIENCE. It happened Fall/2007. Not all the Moslems here are “nice”, I don’t think!
I’m not strong anti-Bush. I agree with some things and other things I don’t. Sometimes I think he is overly criticized for political gain. I’ve read and heard more of what I would consider slander from the Democratic voters than the Republican. They’re hard-hitters. I don’t like that. I’ve been honestly open this time to either side. Just give me the truth without all the “bull”, and let me decide in peace as I let you do- and please still love me as I do you.
Keeping my ear to the ground, and listening- but not believing everything I hear on either side because it’s just not all true. That’s about the ONLY thing we CAN believe, know that!…

Here are some questions the media should be asking and did not ask throughout the long primary season, abdicating its responsibility. Imagine what would have happened if the media had fully vetted Obama and practiced journalism as they should have done.
1.When did Barack Obama first meet Bill Ayers? Was it in New York City? Under what circumstances? Was it at Cooper Union when Ayers was a graduate student there and Obama at Columbia? Was it at Columbia when Ayers was at the teachers’ college?
2.Did Ayers play any role in Obama coming to Chicago as an organizer in 1985? Did the Ayers influence the Woods Fund in any way to subsidize through the Gamaliel Foundation Obama’s job? (The Woods Fund was created by the family of the Safari Coal Company, a major supplier of Commonwealth Edison, whose CEO was Thomas Ayers.)
3.Did Ayers introduce Obama the organizer to his family, his father Tom and brother John? Did they involve Obama in the school reform movement they led in Chicago?
4.Did the Ayers family help Obama become a summer associate at Sidley Austen, the father’s company’s law firm?
5.Did Bernardine Dohrn know Michelle Robinson when they both worked at Sidley at the same time? Did she or Ayers introduce Michelle to Barack at Sidley?
6.Did Dohrn, who attended the University of Chicago Law School with Judson Miner, play any part in helping Obama get a job at the Davis Miner law firm?

Via CNN which does a ‘fact check‘ of the Obama – Ayers connection: Verdict, the two men do not have a close relationship now, and there is no proof that they were working together closely at any point “in the last three years.”
And what sources does CNN quote to determine that Palin et al. are lying completely about the Ayers – Obama connection?
The New York Times article cited by Palin concluded that “the two men do not appear to have been close. Nor has Mr. Obama ever expressed sympathy for the radical views and actions of Mr. Ayers.” Other publications, including the Washington Post, Time magazine, the Chicago Sun-times, The New Yorker and The New Republic, have said that their reporting doesn’t support the idea that Obama and Ayers had a close relationship.
And again others did, right? Like the Wall Street Journal and National Review Online. I’m guessing that when you’re fact checking you take those reports into considerations right? Especially because they actually uncovered quite some evidence indicating that the relationship between Obama and Ayers was closer than Obama is willing to admit.
Right?
Nope. That was it. That was CNN’s ‘fact check.’ It simply repeated the conclusions of pro-Obama publications, and then concluded that the accusation is false.
Another point of significance: no one’s saying the two are close now. That’s not the point. It’s nice of CNN to try to spin this thing for all it’s worth, but the accusation is that the two had a professional relationship in the 1990s. That Obama served on the board of an education organization founded by Ayers, that the two attended meetings together, that Obama endorsed a book Ayers wrote about education, and that Ayers held a private fundraiser for Obama when the latter launched his political career.
It’s nice of CNN to swiftboat the matter, though.

Reading all of these posts, I have to question how many have really been doing their research. I am very concerned about who is to be our next President and have not been impressed by either side. It is important to me and hopefully all Americans the background of those who are running. True.. Most of us have made poor choices in our life time, but we also acknowledge them and move on.
One of the things that has turned my stomach the most is the “Racism” issues.
I have MANY dear friends of all races. Slavery was wrong…there is no other answer to that. Many forget that there was people in the time of slavery that also knew it was wrong and went to battle for the freedom of Slaves. Many lost their lives fighting in what they believed.
When it comes to voting for our next president, we need to say I am voting for him because…… Is your answer one that you will be able to live with? There is alot at stake and neither candidate seems to be telling me anything! Obama changes his mind like the wind. I am not pleased at all with his votes (or lack of) in the times past. I did like what the democratic senator said about McCain when he stated that McCain agreed with the Democrate that taxes could not be raised upon fixing the “Bail-Out”. BUT..that is not enough to vote him as president????

to me politicians in general are professional liars. The republicans on the other hand, should open a university and give degrees in lying. That’s how fantastic they are at it.
