Question, why is a candidate for the President of the United States (Barack Obama) hiring a lawyer, Joe Sandler who provides legal representation for CAIR, the Counsel of American-Islamic Relations, which was founded by the terrorists of Hamas? Barack Obama wants to be the Commander in Chief of the US in the war on terror yet is using a lawyer for CAIR a group with terrorist connections. Philip Berg’s filed law suit in the federal court requesting that Barack Obama produce his birth certificate to prove that he is eligible to be President and Barack Obama to hire this lawyer and does not present his original birth certificate to the courts. We are now waiting for the judge to rule on the motion. If the judge grants the case the trial will not start until after the November 4th election. So why does the Junior Senator from Illinois hire a lawyer instead of just providing a copy of the original birth certificate to the courts? WHY?

You have to know that a lot of baloney gets accepted by people of all walks and political leanings (especially during a presidential election cycle)so, it’s great that something like their site exists.
Be honest? Would you want to investigate them if they had reported they did not see the actual verifiable Hawaiian birth certificate?

It is a distraction that at best is an ill advised attempt to smear Barack Obama, at worst an attempt to undermine the rights of Americans to both run for office and vote for the candidate of their choice. My guess is that Berg is a supporter of Republican candidates? Do you know if this is true?

Per Diem should not normally be taxed. I travelled extensively for the Federal Government over a 30 year period and received perdiem pay to cover the expenses while on the road. Sometimes, it was flat rate. XXX dollars per day. At other times, there were XXX dollars per day + the cost of the hotel room. I was never required to include that money in my taxable income and it would have been financially devastating to my family if we had. Only the very very cheap make money off the perdiem income. For most, you are lucky to break even. This is different than the tax code that says you can not deduct the mileage from your domicile to your office. Let’s be real here, she is not jumping in her car and driving home. I would hazard a guess most of the Senators and HRep. guys get travel bucks for a certain number of visits back and forth to their home districts–they should! You Obama maniacs are really reaching to make the perdiem money an issue. Also, a lot of government functions do entail family accompanyment. This IS a hazy area, but, it is done by both parties consistently. Rational levels of family inclusion are quite ok, excessive are not, but, the line is tough to draw.

I love to read the comments for those in support of Palin. Rarely do you see anyone defend her qualifications or the accusations directly, but instead direct the arguement to others. (if you think she is unqualified, what about…..) Every candidate should be viewed for thier own merits. Forget the phony and trivial issues (e.g., 17 K in per diem or her kid) and focus upon her awareness of the issues. For my part, she simply does not understand the issues. And while she may claim to be a spokesperson for the middle class (which is fine by me), let us not fool ourselves into buying the claim that she now shares our financial stresses simply because she utters the pre-fed phrase of “joe six pack”. I’m amazed that a good share of us are perfectly comfortable electing someone who is 1) a good speaker; and 2) a good memorizer of bullet points. Now at this point, everyone will say “but what about Obama”? Fair enough and make your decision, but for me, Palin is akin to the lowest apple we can pull off the tree. Likeability does not equal wisdom. Folksiness and cuteness does not replace clear, clear lapses of understanding. For Mccain’s part, his inability to retreat from a decision most find to be unwise is simply an indicator of stubborness on future issues-even in the face of bad judgements to come. We can do better than this.

The gist of the article is that you cannot collect income for travel to your home without paying taxes on that money. Per diem refers to expenses incurred while away from home. If she was living in Wasalla and traveling to the capital to work, that would have to be at her expense. If she was living at the capital and travelling home she might be able to claim per diem, but only for herself, not her whole familly. But if she was living at the capital, that would have to be her home address for income tax purposes. If all this sounds simple to you it is probably because you are simple-minded … But we have seen other evidence for that here as well.

Since Palin spent 312 nights out of her first 19 months in office as governor at Wasilla, it is clear under Alaska’s own policy that her tax home is Wasilla and not Juneau.
That Palin improperly failed to pay taxes on the $17,000 of per diem is beyond dispute.

I believe that one key reason that she will not subject herself to media scrutiny is that SOMEONE will ultimately ask her about the story of Track’s arrest. She has several options in her possible responses. “No, he was never arrested.” “I’m not going to talk about my children.” “I am not ever going to talk about any stories that others are suggesting are about my family.” The first answer might be an outright lie or the truth. If she lies about it then that is pure folly no matter what the subsequent rationalization. The second answer suggests that it may be true because why not just say that the story is not true. Why by providing a non answer leave out there that it is possible that the story is true. And the third is just a general statement that provides some possible cover for not answering any comments about her children. ABC and CBS would not ask that question (FOX? I can’t stop laughing about any possibility for anyone there asking questions that deserve an answer). Before I go too far – this story is relevant BECAUSE – she is painting a picture that her son’s enlistment is about patriotism while it is really possible that it is a solution to a criminal charge as a juvenile. It could come down to how many parts patriotism versus how many parts a required solution. It could just be a convenient or even a required solution to a major problem. I am sure that the Alaskan press knows if he was involved but cannot ID him because of his rights as a juvenile.

Sen. Bob Graham of Florida was the intelligence committee chair in 2002 and voted against the resolution. Obama did not mention Graham’s name in the passage.His exact words are, “She didn’t read the National Intelligence Estimates. Jay Rockefeller read it. But she didn’t read it. I don’t know what all that experience got her because I have enough experience to know that if you have a National Intelligence Estimate and the chairman of the national, um, Senate Intelligence Committee says you should read this, this is why I’m voting against the war, that you should probably read it. I don’t know how much experience you need for that.”

Barack Obama is 100% American. He is even more American than those who would question this because to denigrate a person’s character because his father might have been born else where is rdiculous. If this is to be used as a measurement, then every person in America other than native Americans need to check on their character. Why you ask? (Republicans?) Because we would all be on a level playing ground. Since in reality, none of us originated here. Many people have moved here from different places. This means everyone is not going to be like you.
The only reason why Obama’s character and association is been brought into question is because McCain has nothing to offer America. He cannot win. So Obama has to lose. It is a tactic of desperation. One may call it a strategy if you want. But I really hope it does not turn out to be strategy. It makes America look weak.
McCain would like to be president. What does he have to offer, so that all Americans can pursue their dreams on an equal footing. I am yet to hear him put forward something substantial of his own.

But people working in the public sector do pay taxes, you say. If a public sector worker earns $10 dollars and pays $2 in taxes the pot is down $8 dollars. If a private sector worker earns $10 dollars and pays $2 dollars the pot is up $2 dollars. In this example it takes three private sector workers to keep the pot even for each public sector worker. So the public sector workers can believe they are paying taxes but in reality they aren’t. They are actually rebating a portion of their income. Only those working in the private sector increase the pot. People like Obama will never give it to you straight, but just wait until you see the tax increases needed to pay for the things he wants. And yes, you public sector workers will have to rebate a greater percentage of what you were given from the pot. Very simplified, but this is the basis of public vs. private sector economics.
