Sarah Palin Tones it Down a Notch
ABC’s Imtiyaz Delawala and Ron Claiborne report: Gov. Sarah Palin significantly ratcheted down the rhetoric from her campaign speeches last week Sunday evening at an outdoor rally in Brush Run Park in St. Clairsville, OH, making no mention of Sen. Barack Obama’s connection to former anti-war radical William Ayers, and using nearly-apologetic language when making criticisms of the Democratic presidential nominee.
The harshest words from the Republican vice presidential nominee came when she discussed Obama’s abortion positions, which she also spoke about at a rally in Johnstown, PA Saturday. But her comments on Sunday were far more gentle, couched in nearly-apologetic language.
“It’s not negative and it’s not mean-spirited in a campaign for me to ask you to check out our opponent’s record, and I would ask you to check out our opponent’s record on a couple of the legislative opportunities that Barack Obama has had to reflect his feelings on the same issue that I just talked about,” Palin said. “I’m not being negative, not mean-spirited, but please check out his record on partial birth abortion and on the Child Born-Alive Act, and I’ll let you judge for yourself.” The crowd booed at her mention of the controversial abortion procedure called ‘partial birth abortion’ by some critics, but Palin did not follow the crowd’s mood.
While Palin cited the anger felt by many of her supporters — as expressed verbally at two separate town meetings earlier in the week — Palin attempted to turn it into a positive message on Republican nominee John McCain reforming Washington. She did not turn it into anger at the Democratic nominee, who is leading the race in most national and battleground state polls.
“All across America, I know that there’s a lot of anger right now,” Palin said. “There’s anger about the insider dealing of lobbyists and anger at the greed of Wall Street, and anger about the arrogance of the Washington elite. And with serious reforms to change Washington, John McCain is going to turn your anger into action.”
While Palin made no mention of William Ayers, who just days ago she charged was "a terrorist" with closer ties to Obama than he will acknowledge, she did speak about “terrorists” in general as the “bad guys,” and then went on to describe the “bad guys” in the current economic crisis. It was unclear if Palin was attempting to allude to Ayers when speaking about "terrorists."
“Help me Ohio to help put John McCain in the White House," Palin said. "He understands… For one thing, we know who the bad guys are, OK? We know, we know that in the war, it’s terrorists, terrorists who hate America and her allies and would seek to destroy us, and the bad guys are those who would support and sympathize with the terrorists. They do not like America because of what we stand for: liberty, freedom, equal rights. Those who sympathize and support those terrorists who would seek to destroy all that it is that we value, those are the bad guys, ok?”
“Now in the economic crisis that we’re in, we know there, too, who the bad guys are," Palin continued. "In this time of economic crisis, we know it’s been those who have been greedy and corrupt and arrogant and have taken advantage of hardworking honest Americans, and just as important though, we know who the good guys are, and it is you, and we will fight for you, and we will put government on your side. We will end the arrogant and the selfish practices of Washington and of Wall Street because your United States government is to be of the people, by the people, for the people. Let us make it so again.”
As she often does on the campaign trail, Palin focused much of her remarks on energy indepdendence. The enthusiastic Ohio crowd added a new slogan to Palin’s remarks when pushing for more coal mining by chanting “Mine, Baby, Mine,” a takeoff of the “Drill, Baby, Drill” chant that’s a staple of Palin rallies, leaning on her support of increased drilling for oil off-shore and in her homestate of Alaska. Judging from Palin’s reaction, the mine chant could become a staple of her speeches in the remaining days until Election Day.
"Mine, Baby, Mine. Ok, I’m bringing that all across the U.S. Do you mind if I plagiarize that? Thank you. That is a good one,” Palin said, drawing applause and cheers from the crowd.

Forget Sarah Palin….
Obama is a risky, radical character that we still don’t know
What the heck is the media thinking.
It IS important that Obama associates with terrorists and anti Americans.
Please investigate all of this.
Why are we not making an issue about it should be the question.
Are terrorists in controll of the media?

There must be specific orders to prepare for a loss between Palin cooling off and McCain actually defending Obama against his angry hordes.

The only thing worse than biased reporting is veiled biased reporting. The comments by the reporter on Palin are not about the content but about telling the readers to remember other old news, unrelated to this news. Remember readers: just because she didn’t do it doesn’t mean she isn’t negative (don’t forget. don’t forget remember she did it before. she did it before.) And the reporter commented on the important issues: Boy did she blow that pronunciation! (remember readers she’s dumb. she’s dumb. And I, the reporter, think you, the reader, are dumb too because I have too keep bringing up these things so you don’t forget.)
Obama doesn’t need negative ads or statements – he’s got the press to keep pointing things out even if Obama doesn’t.

Independents don’t like division, vitriol and hate. The McCain Campaign is unprecedented in their efforts to impart a wanton display of overt negativity painted with a broad brush stoke applied far too thin. Like McCain, 20th Century idealists embrace the past like a rusty shield. Thank GOD optimism shall always prevail!!!
I am an ever proud Obama/Biden supporter and contibutor. I am happy and hopeful about the future!!! Something that simply does not seem evident across the aisle. What a loss. What a senseless shame.

I’m curious as to what Tony Rezko has to do with Sarah Palin. Why respond to an article ABC news has online when your response has nothing to do with the article.
And, who cares if Rezko is talking? Does him talking to police automatically mean that Obama is guilty of something?

Sarah Palin is, to be nice, intellectually deficient and she is on the same track as John McCain. She and John are mud-slinging and smearing Barack Obama because they cannot discuss the issues with any intellectual ability. John McCain has already stated if the election is bsed on the economy, then he would lose. And what is the important issue right now – the economic mess that the Republicans have gotten us into. John McCain has stated he has voted with Bush 90% of the time. So what does that mean for you. If McCain is elected, he will continue the failed Bush politics. Barack Obama has remained calm and has not resorted to personal attacks on John McCain on Sarah Palin although in my opinion, he could have ripped them apart. But he didn’t. He has shown he has the honesty, integrity and knowledge to be our President. We need change and McCain will not deliver it. Obama will give us the change we need! PS – I am a white woman, over 60, from a small town in Indiana.

Palin is being used by GOP. Palin should be more worried about her political future.
You know what they do to pitbulls that lose a fight?
They get put down.
After Obama wins the election, Palin and McCain will take the blunt of the blame while GOP insiders will turn them in to scapegoats for losing the election.
Palin will be blamed for her harsh rhetoric when it was GOP insiders who wrote those harsh rhetoric.
I know we don’t like earmarks, but maybe we can get some money to build a shelter for pitbulls that get used and abused. If we can do this for Michael Vicks dogs, we can do this for poor Sarah Palin.

That is the most ignorant bit of misinformation allowed to be spread online.
Barack Obama is a United States Senator, he has been a POlitician for years. Stop making it seem like he is some wacho radical who just emerged onto the scene.
Show some respect, he is US Senator and has no ties to terrorists. You people should be ashamed, but then again, its your education that lets you think this way.
Back to college perhaps?
I guess now that GOP is turning their back on McCain, the Republicans are getting scared.

This economic mess that the repubicans have gotten us into? Where are you getting your news and information? Have you watched any of the congressional hearings on the Lehman bankruptcy either? for anybody that wants to pay attention, the roots of this problem go back to liberal policies that accused banks of racism whenever they wouldn’t lend to low-income consumers. Then when Fannie and Freddie got out of hand, the people in charge (liberal congress) didn’t head the warnings and do anything about it. These are the same people that will be making policy if Obama is elected. I am amazed how people think Obama is better for the economy. this link is an article warning about this in 1999 – before Bush was even in office.

And cmon, Obama wasn’t 8 years old this time.
McCain spent the last week looking for his integrity. Let’s hope the party faithful can find theirs.

Bias reporting? For which side? It was determined that Palin ABUSED HER POWER. But that was a blip on the screen. Just this year Palin spoke at an AIP (aka Alaska-First) event. But does the MSM run a story? Nope.
So now, in the 11th hour, Palin wants to bring up abortion?!? We all know Palin’s stance, but let’s look at McCain’s. He voted to allow unborn children access to SCHIP, but then voted against expanding SCHIP. Voted against expending education to help prevent abortions.

As McCain’s campaign falls apart and becomes more and more evident that Obama will win, you will see more and more GOP members jumping ship from McCain.
GOP knows McCain doesn’t have many years left and Palin is expendable. She can always go back to Alaska and never have to deal with her again.
So as more and more republican pundits question McCain’s campaign and Palins choice as VP, you will see them losing support as we get closer to election day.
I just feel sorry for McCain and Palin.
I don’t think they ever knew what they were going up against, the environment is not suited for anyone with a ‘R’ infront of their name.

Apparently Obama has some sort of mind control to make the people go completely crazy and consider voting for him. Where is Bullwinkle Moose and Rocky the Flying Squrriel when you need them. The evil one is about to overtake the world. There is few choices. bullwinkle and rocky, or people comming to their senses and realizing that Obama is a very dangerous man. He has so far (that I have heard) repeated the first debate at the second debate, and in Indiana a third time. I could repeat the empty words with him. he apparently likes the type of person that would destroy and kill others (terrorist, here and in Kenya). Rumors have it that he even trades babysitting with terrorist Ayres. Come to your senses America, we can’t elect a man that says our troops raid villages and kill innocent people. He could never be a real Commander in Cheif.
Think before you vote. I am not scared by much, but this man scares me to death.
Lets go 4 years with John mcCain and then see where Obama is then. Maybe he could prove himself. Mabye Not! Life is too important to be taken seriously, and this election is too important to take a chance on a very risky person.
By the way I am now depending on Sarah Palin for my latest news and truth. Sorry, NEws media, you failed!!!!!!!

McCain and Palin have shown that they are fear brokers. Fear of talking about issues, fear of the opponent–so let’s fight dirty, fear that their platform can not stand the test. I favor many of the platform issues, unfortunately the representatives of the platform “scare me.” I realize we as a people practice horrible tactics during campaigns, but that does not make it right. We as a people need to return to the Biblical principles that this country was founded upon. We may not practice them perfectly, but at least we tried to practice them. “Stay with the ONE that brought you—God–Jesus. Let’s stop making new rules and rely on Biblical principles that have stood the test of time. Let America Bless God with obedience and God will Bless America.

The McCain campaign doesn’t know what to do to combat the fact that most of the country blames the financial crisis on the GOP. Someone once said, “I you take credit for the rain be prepared to take responsibility for the drought.” The government takes more responsibility for the economy than it deserves, but now it’s reaping the rewards of doing so.

As an outsider looking in, because we down here happen to like America, I have to say your media is astounding, to those not resident in America. I have been fighting to find an objective and unbiased piece of journalism on your elections. She keeps saying, “We know who the bad guys are”… These are words from a deeply deceived mind, out of touch with reality, trapped behind fears, trying desperately to get us to be afraid of trusting Obama. What a sad wretched state these so-called evangelicals have reached, a new desperate low point of foolishness and deceit. But at least, THANK GOD, McCain realized he was at the head of an evil mob and started to change the tone. This clearly signals his loss, a house divided against itself, but at least he won’t drive the country into civil war… hopefully. But that remains to be seen how this will play out in the end. THANK GOD Bush is not running, as we all know he would never have backed away like McCain just did.
Who are the bad guys, Sarah? Clearly you put Obama in with that group. McCain at least has moved away from YOUR “bad” spirit of fear and hatred.
Repent, Sarah! Your pride and arrogance will be your undoing if you don’t.

Not that I care, but yes, Palin is being used by the GOP and she obviously does whatever she’s told to do — like a well trained lap dog. I think people should pay more attention to the fact that it is more than 50% likely (due to McCain’s family medical history) that she will become president sometime during the next four years if McCain is elected. Obama will get the country deeper into debt??? Please…If you care about fiscal responsibility, then one only need examine the records since Reagan to make a clear case that though the Republicans claim to want us to live within our means, the fact that they never met a tax cut they didn’t like combined with their belief that throwing money at defense contractors will make us safer (and is somehow inherently patriotic) means that Republicans have absolutely no fiscal discipline. Wasn’t Palin’s running mate the one who suggested just last week that in addition to the $700 billion wall street bailout the government should also pay the losses on all the bad mortgages out there, which would cost another couple of hundred billion? Modern day Republicans cannot even pretend to be conservatives anymore; they now combine the worst of both worlds (willingness to spend government money freely but without the expectation that government should do anything useful).

If Palin changed tactics on the tone of her retoric, its most likely a political calculation, and probably not her own.
McCain / Palin didn’t like the poll numbers a week ago, so they came out 100% negative on TV ads and deliverd stump speeches that had the crowd shouting death threats, and general hate mongering activities. They should have been above this, but they weren’t. Now however, since this tactic did not move the polls, they’ll try another tact.

I have lived long enough to have changed my position on issues depending on my age and experience. I’ve changed my lifestyle as have millions of others who’ve lived through the 60′s…
Why is it that Palin is drawing attention “former anti-war radical William Ayers” and forgetting to say that he and his wife have long been educators at a higher level than she has achieved, and that they have “worked within the system” for many years. A system that Obama has always worked within, hence the meetings.
Frankly…her lack of understanding that times and people change leads me to believe she is not prepared to sit with world leaders who were, or still are terrorists or dictators. She must be able to work with all people if she becomes the President. Breeding division is not something a candidate for vice president should be doing. What will she do in the future is paramount of importance.

Bob said “Palin baby – get back in bed and make some more babies with your husband. Then you can spend the rest of your life being a soccer Mom which, apparently, is what you do best.”
1. CALLING A FEMALE “BABY” IS CONDENSCENDING.
2. WITHOUT MOMS MAKING BABIES YOU WOULDN’T BE HERE.
3. HOCKEY MOM NOT SOCCER. DID YOU JUST JOIN THE DEBATE THIS WEEK?

I’m sorry but Palin is NOT a good Hockey mom. I have LOTS and LOTS of questions about teh Palin’s parenting, I responsibly decided to limit my family to two children many years ago, because I know HOW IMPORTANT is to raise your children right. I wouldn’t ask a parent of five to help me out planning a birthday party, much less governing a state or leading a nation.

If tenuous associations are so important to the right wing, why don’t they ever mention the problems on the GOP ticket in that regard?
For starters, Palin’s husbands association with an Alaskan separatist party, in which she videotaped a greeting for their convention which included the words,’Keep up the good work.’ And the pastor of her church (whose prayers she likes to say helped her win the governor’s race) having chased a Kenyan woman out of her town for ‘witchcraft.’
As for McCain one of his earliest endorsements in this current race was from Catholic hater John Hagee. Oh, he denounced him, they say? Well, Obama has denounced Ayers and Wright and yet the right continues to harp, so denunciations don’t get to count, by their own standards. McCain has also been linked to south Florida politicians sympathetic to, and who have attempted to get pardons of, known anti-Castro terrorists who have actually killed people; such as Orlando Bosch, mastermind of the Cubana flight 455 bombing which killed 73 people.
So, if associations, and not policy, matter I think the McCain ticket has some ‘splainin to do.

Audrey Marie said, “Palin Could become President if John McCain succumbs to his illnesses. SCARY. She is a very negative, self centered woman with lot of ambitions. She must be stopped. She should pay more attention to her baby and 17 year old instead of her self. McCain made a big mistake picking Palin. But then again he always liked the pretty women.
She is negative because her campaign is telling her to be. All politicians have ambition otherwise they wouldn’t run. Pay more attention to her kids. What does this have to do with her policies? If she spent 10 hours a day selling cookies at a bake sale you wouldn’t mind a bit, but you are threatened when a woman runs for office? Since McCain always did like the pretty women, you will have nothing to worry about.

The Republicans are freaking out. They have spewed all this hate and paid for all that rant radio and still, they are down. Palin asking if we really know Obama is such a joke. He is probably the most vetted candidate out there, she the least. This woman knows no boundary and apparently doesn’t get that she is the joke. She is Bush in a dress. She just isn’t as smart or well connected.

With all this talk about Bill Ayers, I was wondering why he was never referred to as a felon or someone who spent time in prison for his acts of terrorism. Was any else curious about this, and then decided to check on some facts about this guy? His story is quite interesting and I urge you to check it out before jumping to any conclusions.

We are about to send McSame and Palin packing on Nov 4th. Those of us with IQ’s above 100 are going to elect a thoughtful intelligent Leader in Barack Obama. Good bye Republicans and good riddance. Your ideology of stupidity has ruined this country and now we the People are about to take it back.

The fear of SP just permiates this board. She has the unique ability to by-pass the media filters and take the message directly to the voters. Her simplicity of speech is her greatest weapon. Palin speaks plainly and directly so there is no media interpretation necessary. This drives the MSM nuts. They are not able to twist what she says into there liberal spin.

The churlish republican voters on this forum and elsewhere should be ashamed for their reprehensible desires for calamity for the United States if their team fails to win the election. There are millions of us who also find ourselves the target of the deepest hatred from our domestic political opposites who hate democrats far more than they do any foreign enemy. It is evident that the machinations of rove have come to fruition, but in so doing make it quite clear that the recent converts to neoconservative republicanism have been horribly manipulated.

In less than 30 days Sarah Palin will be a mere memory from a failed Presidential campaign.
In 2012, I suggest the Republicans add a SERIOUS VP candidate to the ticket, one with Presidential gravitas, not a ‘Hockey Mom’ whose narrow appeal is only to sub-intellects and knuckle draggers.

Really? We are back on the whole abortion thing again GOP? I love how that’s the only thing that unread or educated voters care about. In my experience if they can’t put down the Jeff Gordon popcorn tin for 5 mins to read a newspaper at least there’s always that old hat to fall back on, and all of a sudden the bumpkins of American know politics too!
Here’s a though…MAYBE if we actually invested in some ACTUAL sex education in this country we’d see less abortions…hmm…preventive actions like sex ed have actually be proven to lower the sexual activity of teenagers and that kids will actual be safe when that make that choice lowering pregnancy rates as well as STD’s
This isn’t the 40′s Abstinence only education DOES NOT WORK. Our government has spent millions on this garbage and we have the highest underage pregnancy of any industrialized nation! So guess what happens next in the story…
Well if your a single mom who had a baby young you know the struggles.
It’s easy for people to take away someone elses rights when they have never been or never will be in that situation.
Man I really HATE that people still talk about this like there’s anything to discuss. Abstinence only education…what a joke. People need to worry about educated people on how to prevent a need for abortion in general.

Come to your senses America, we can’t elect a man that says our troops raid villages and kill innocent people. He could never be a real Commander in Cheif.
That is precisely the type of Commander I want and we need. War on terror is not war against the Germans. It’s about ideas and support. Every time you bomb a village you put the country in risk. Killing children CREATE terrorists in Paris, in Frankfurt Germany. It is completely counter productive and wrong. I don’t want a blind supporter of military action. We already had a president which didn’t ask questions…

Of course they will “tone it down” now. The damage has been done. They threw some meat to the racists that support them, and now they’ve got the taste of blood on their palate.
Most modern racists know that their bigotry needs to be kept under wraps, in the back room, spoken with whispers. So they’ll quiet it down, and use ambiguous code words like “the bad guys”.
Who’s a bad guy? How about someone who’d use their political power to strong arm a financial oversight committee to ease pressure on their personal friend, who was the CEO of Lincoln S&L? (no one remembers the S&L scandal? the last time we had to bail out crooked banks and cost the taxpayers $500billion)
How about someone who’d use their political power to try to force a state trooper out of his job, because he was her sister’s ex-husband?
BOTH REPUBLICAN CANDIDATES HAVE DEMONSTRATED THEIR VALUES AND ETHICS ARE FLAWED, WHILE IN THE OFFICE THEY CURRENTLY HOLD. THEY ARE LIARS, AND SELF-SERVING EVIL PEOPLE.
I don’t understand how any educated American can support either of them, unless they are truly ignorant, or simply refuse to acknowledge THE TRUTH.

So you are the authority on parenting. Are parenting skills a prerequisite for leading? Does anyone know what kind of parent Churchill was? Patton? JFK spent many hours away from his kids while with other women and he was a pretty decent leader.
People with more than two kids are going to love your argument that they are a liability and not an asset. You heard it right here folks, it you have more than two kids you must vote McCain/Palin because they will not put limits on the number of children you can have.

When Brooks, conservative columnist for the NYT and PBS calls Palin a cancer to the GOP and totally unprepared. When Wm F Buckley III bolts the Repubs to support Obama. When Palin whips her audience to a frenzy and then backs off when the party suddenly realizes that they are getting into really dangerous waters ….. you know that the GOP is disintegrating one brick at a time. McCain can survive a defeat but Palin will not.

Nice reverse psychology libratine, but just remember, you’re comments won’t bring Independents to Obama.
Because Independents are now seeing and saying that they are experiencing more negativity and verbal attacks from Obama supporters. Just because the other side wants to know more about Obama, does not make anybody a racist or every other name in the book!
They are noticing that Obama supporters are inciting racial slurs just to try and bring anger out of people so they can point the finger and call them racist!
The gig is up on this liberal ploy! Americans are getting tired of the media and the left pampering Obama, then saying McCain and his supporters are creating an environment of hatred and division, when it’s actually the other way around.
And Independents are now seeing the realism of this, because they are now asking questions too about Obama, and his supporters are now attacking them also without knowing who they really are. Trust me, I know, I’m an Independent now voting for McCain!
I look at both sides, and McCain is better for this country right now, and to many question marks are still popping up about Obama and are unanswered.
And I don’t like this hatred I’m seeing from both sides, but at least when I ask a question about McCain’s plan, I get a straight forward honest answer from his supporters about his plan and his past.
But when I ask a questions about Obama, I get a straight forward answer about his plans until I ask more about Obama’s past and his connections. Then they only start attacking McCain about his plans and past, and they still won’t answer my question about Obama’s past, saying it doesn’t matter.
Then I ask again, and they get mad and start calling me a right wing religious freak, etc… I’m sick and tired of getting attacked verbally by Obama’s supporters.
Independents don’t like arrogant know-it-all’s who speak in constant anger. When I see a McCain supporter verbally attack an Obama supporter, I notice that the Obama supporter enticed the anger by making personal attacks on McCain and his supporters.
Which everyone has a right to defend themselves and their candidate, but they only asked questions about Obama’s past, just to try and understand more about his past. Then the Obama supporter has no answer other than look at the plans. Their question still goes unanswered, and the name calling begins.
Each candidate has a plan that their supporters like, but the Obama supporters get angry when asked about Obama’s past and have no answer, other than name calling and then calling them(Independents) and McCain supporters racist and stupid. I see a double standard here.
Inciting and enticing anger and hatred is the wrong thing to do. So yes, McCain is better for this country right now in my opinion, because his plan benefits me and my finances. Along with mine and everybody else’s freedom’s and protection.
This Independent is voting for McCain this election. May GOD bless the United States of America!

Val…it’s the McCain camp who is scared, using those silly attacks, with McCain hiding behind Palin’s skirt, letting her do the dirty (I like what someone in this blog said about putting losing pitbulls down)…that’s why they decided to tone it down, it was working against them. Now he wants to talk issues. I wonder what policy decision he’ll invent on the fly, like he did in the second debate. I’m interested to see what this week’s tactic will be. Whatever it is I’m sure it’ll be a loser also. His campaign is so all over the place, is this the man you want to be president?
To the good folks of Ohio…when are you going to realize that the more you vote republican the more you are screwing yourselves. You shot yourselves in one foot with Bush–look at the loss of jobs under Bush, don’t shoot the other foot with McCain.

When it becomes playing with fire to call a candidate that has lied to the american people about his relationship with Ayers then something is wrong in America. I do not want a president who we cannot critize without violence breaking out. For the last 8 years we have heard noting but hate from the legislature every sound bite from Ried, Pelosi and the lot of them has been critical. Hollywood had made it a sport. The double standard is outreagous and it is Obama’s fault. He was the one that lied and then calls foul. There is not personal responsibility and that is wrong. Obama is not the man we hoped he would be he has been a great disappointment to transfer his lie to John McCain is wrong. Obama is a radical leftest trained by a radical leftest and groomed for this position. He will be a horrible president.

SOME REASONS WHY woman should reject John McCain:
1. OPPOSED the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act. Told Lilly Ledbetter and all working woman ‘Tough Luck’
2. DOESN’T CARE about the stagnant middle class wages in this country. As long as the rich get more rich, he will always have campaign doners.
3. WANTS TO UNDERMINE Social Security by diverting Social Security contributions to private stock market accounts. This is the same money that is currently paying for your mother’s or grandmother’s social security check.
4. WANTS INSURANCE COMPANIES to be regualted by a friendly state of THEIR OWN CHOOSING simply by reincorporationg in that state.
Looking forward to a system where you have NO right of appeal except to industry sponsored arbitration companies that just happen to rule for the insurance company 100% of the time? Then you should vote for John McCain.
5. Wants to force employers to DROP insurance coverage for their employees by TAXING employer supplied health insurance!
6. $10 BILLION DOLLARS a month is being spend in Iraq. This money does NOTHING to improve our kids’ education so they can compete in the global market. This money does NOTHING to fix our bridges, before they fall into the Mississippi river. This money does NOTHING to change our economy to run on renewable, American sources of energy!
7. His erratic behavior regarding the economic crisis. His latest proposal, to buy up bad mortgages at full FACE VALUE has been denounced by virtually every economist on his list of ‘Economists for McCain’ as having been less than half baked.
8. No one in their right mind could claim that John McCain was thinking of the welfare of the nation when he selected Sarah Palin to be PRESIDENT should he be incapacitated.
9. John McCain has spent his valuable time issuing attacks on Barack Obama that newspaper after newspaper have called FALSE, MISLEADING, and UNPRESIDENTIAL.
10. If John McCain thinks that attacking Iraq was more important that taking down Al Qaeda and the Taliban in AFGHANISTAN and Pakistan then he does not have the judgement to be president.
Background on Lilly Ledbetter:
Of all the appalling decisions the Roberts Court issued last year, one of the worst was the 5-4 ruling in Ledbetter v. Goodyear, which gutted the equal-pay provisions of the Civil Rights Act and overturned a decades-old employment-law precedent.
The plaintiff, Lilly Ledbetter, worked for nearly two decades at a Goodyear Tire plant in Gadsden, Alabama. She brought an Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) complaint against Goodyear after she discovered that for years she had been paid less than male co-workers with the same job. The justices ruled that employees can only file a wage-discrimination complaint within 180 days of when the payroll decision was made.
After the Supreme Court issued its decision, which leaves women and minorities in Ledbetter’s situation with no recourse, congressional Democrats pledged to pass legislation that would give employees two years to file a complaint, in accordance with the law before the Supreme Court issued its decision.

Once again, the Repub supporters are giving double standards. They keep pointing out Ayers, Wright, and other people in regards to Obama. What Keating to McCain? All those so-call lobbiests are on or used to be on McCain’s campaign staff? What about Palin’s connection to that radical party in Alaska that wants Alaska to succede from the country and she happens to be marry to one?
Please! You jokers are calling the kettle black with these stupid attempts to spread smear and fear on Obama, when it’s clear your candidates are the real radicals that pose a threat to America! Who wants a VP who supports a party that wants a state to break away from the USA? Who wants a Prez with direct connections to lobbiests who represented greedy businesses? No one, espeically if people truly want a change from the past 8 years of greed and cowboy diplomacy. Palin and McCain are representing the ‘same old, same old’.

Meet John McCain radical right-wing pals
Gordon Liddy served four and a half years in prison in connection with his conviction for his role in the Watergate break-in and the break-in at the office of the psychiatrist of Daniel Ellsberg, the military analyst who leaked the Pentagon Papers. Liddy has acknowledged preparing to kill someone during the Ellsberg break-in “if necessary”; plotting to murder journalist Jack Anderson; plotting with a “gangland figure” to murder Howard Hunt to stop him from cooperating with investigators; plotting to firebomb the Brookings Institution; and plotting to kidnap “leftist guerillas” at the 1972 Republican National Convention
Liddy has donated $5,000 to McCain’s campaigns since 1998, including $1,000 in February 2008. In addition, McCain has appeared on Liddy’s radio show
during the presidential campaign, including as recently as May. An online video labeled “John McCain On The G. Gordon Liddy Show 11/8/07″ includes a
discussion between Liddy and McCain, whom Liddy described as an “old friend.” During the segment, McCain praised Liddy’s “adherence to the principles
and philosophies that keep our nation great,” said he was “proud” of Liddy, and said that “it’s always a pleasure for me to come on your program.

Meet other McCain radical right-wing pals.
This guilt by association path is going to be trouble ultimately for the McCain campaign. You know, you can go back, I have written a book about
McCain, I had a dozen researchers go through him, I didn’t even put this in the book. But John McCain sat on the board of a very right-wing
organization, it was the U.S. Council for World Freedom, it was chaired by a guy named John Singlaub, who wound up involved in the Iran contra
scandal. It was an ultra conservative, right-wing group. The Anti-Defamation League, in 1981 when McCain was on the board, said this about this
organization. It was affiliated with the World Anti-Communist League the parent organization which ADL said has increasingly become a gathering
place, a forum, a point of contact for extremists, racists and anti-Semites.

I’m too lazy to read all the posts, so I apologize if this has been mentioned already.
Of course the media is biased…I’m sure they’re sick of reporting the same things we’re sick of hearing. I mean, if I were a news anchor, I wouldn’t want to keep reporting on how the economy sucks and people are losing everything they own. I’d want to report positive things that make people appreciate this country more. So if the media seems to lean toward Obama, they have every right to do so. I would too.
Although, Fox News still is pretty funny.
(Side note: I voted for Bush in 2004, and I’m registered Independent, so I’m not one of them socialist liberals some of you accuse Obama of being.)

First, Sarah Palin deliberately scheduled two Florida appearances in order to incite members of the Klan (N. Florida Trail Riders), Right to Life, and Christian Identity Movement. She might only have done more damage if she also scheduled a speech in Homestead, Ocala and Melbourne, Florida.
Generally the best policy to follow in dealing with racists and terrorists is not to elect them, not to allow them venues to incite violence through hate speech. There is no clear line between issuing hate speech and inciting to murder or genocide. History bears this out time and again, across the world, throughout the centuries. Sarah Palin knew what she was doing, and she did it with a vengeance.
William Ayers has not blown up anything since the 60s. Sarah Palin is rallying those who would do violence along racial, political and ethnic lines (genocide) now, in 2007. It is as simple as that.

Timus,
Obviously you only listen to the sound bites that the republican sycophants play regarding “a man that says our troops raid villages and kill innocent people.”
If you bothered to read or hear the full statement you’d know that Obama was calling for a cohesive military policy so that we wouldn’t helter skelter raid villages and kill innocent people. Obama has got it right, and I would suggest that you get the facts, not the factoids. It seems though that too many McCain supporters, like McCain himself, are not interested in facts.

OH let’s get real!! Sarah was torn apart by the far left media in the first week she appeared. If anyone deserves a chance to get back it is her. And everything she says is the TRUTH. Lets get off the soap box for poor Obama. Let him fight his own battles, he has the gift of gab let him use it. That is about all he has.How can anyone in the country not realize that. Woman in the USA have to quit trying to be men and get with the support behind their woman candidate. Give your masculin head a shake ladies.

I’ve been watching with fascination as the conversation in this campaign becomes increasingly shrill. Now, I despair that it has reached a fevered and hyperbolic hysteria.
We are showing the world the worst of ourselves.
This is my plea to everyone posting online comments, to everyone shouting out at rallies, to everyone who is letting their children hear a parent’s hatred overshadow thoughtful, careful decision making.
Please. Stand quietly for one minute. And remember.
Remember who we are and how we are. How brave and kind and caring and great we are as a nation. Let’s remember the searing images from a great depression, from 9-11, from Katrina, from any time or place when one human being reached out or rushed forward to help another.
Let’s vote for whomever we, individually, trust or believe in the most. Let’s not tear ourselves or one another or our nation apart in the process.

It sure took the republicans long enough to get to the abortion BS. Wake up people the republicans have been using this abortion card for years. Fact: the republicans were in power
of the White House, Senate and Congress for 7 years did you see the abortion law or any law change? Put the abortion law on the ballot and let the people decide.
Worry about the big issues and leave the personal issues off the table.

It’s ok. Most understand why some people are afraid of Obama.
It’s ok to be afraid of the “unknown,” just like when kids are scared of “monsters under the bed.”
But just like those monsters, which don’t exist, neither does Obama’s “scary terrorist connections.”
He’s not arab, but that shouldn’t be a problem anyhow. Not all arabs are “evil terorists.” My neighbors are Tunisian, and I couldn’t ask for kinder neighbors.
He’s a different color than most of us, and he may have traveled more than most of us, but that doesn’t make him a bad person, really it doesn’t.
Remember when your gramps used to talk about fighting overseas, and he had all kinds of exotic stories? Did that make him a bad person?
No, of course not! Just imagine Obama as someone your gramps brought back with him, and let him live with him in his house, and raised him like any other christian or protestant in America. The only difference with that guy and Obama, is that Obama was BORN AND RAISED (well, for the most part) in the USA.

Many independents have grown upset with Sarah seeing her as vapid and superficial. Worse, eevn though Sarah has paraded herself as “cleared” of ALL ethics charges in “Troopergate,” teh reality is that she was NOT fully cleared. She has spun the report; she is a liar just like so many of them. I saw McCain as my only viable choice aside from perhaps a losing Libertarian candidate. With Palin on board,I will end up voting Libertarian after all. I refsue to join thed herd of sheep on either side when both parties have put up poor candidates.

I’m a registered independent, and until last night, was undecided. After reading the depositions from Alaska, troopergate, I,m apalled by Senator Macains choice of VP! This woman allowed, and encouraged, her husband to make policy for alaskan’s citizens. Spending thier first 2 yrs. in the governors office, incompentently, harassing a state trooper. After repeatedly being warned that they were breaking the LAWS of this state. THEY fired the bearer of bad news, a respected law officer. Are we ready for VP Todd Palin, or GOD forbid President Todd Palin. My respect for Sen. Macain, and his service to the U.S.A. is tremendous. I’m voting Obama/Biden.

Palin is far from “regular folks” She owns a house valued at over a half million dollars. A small plane, a boat, numerous snowmobiles. Her lake view home on Lake Lucille looks at a dead lake due to waste dumping. She left Wasilla,AK in horrible debt that she created. Check out salon.com where there are aricles native Alaskaians that say what the truth is. How they don’t even reconize the fake accent she has been using and gee whizzes…God help us all if this fake that has tried to bluff her way in Alaska ever gets a chance to run this country…with her “close adviser” Todd.

I am not six years old, and do not need anyone to identify “Bad Guys” for me. I also recognize when a campaing starts to stoop to nasty, negative comments, like Sarah Palin has done since she got on the ticket, there is no ‘good’ message to be had. I would not want this woman as my PTA president, never mind the VP of our country. John McCain has lost control, he has lost his vision (nice, I noted that he stole the ‘change’ mantra from Obama). He’s the ‘good cop’, letting Sarah drip vile and viciousness (how many times can you say ‘terrorist’ and ‘bad guys’?). I’m sorry if they make ANYONE feel better. And can you say “Black Lung, Baby, Black Lung”? Let’s drill everywhere, to hell with the environment – so what if it’s ruined for our kids – we want cheap oil – NOW!

“This economic mess that the repubicans have gotten us into? Where are you getting your news and information? Have you watched any of the congressional hearings on the Lehman bankruptcy either? for anybody that wants to pay attention, the roots of this problem go back to liberal policies that accused banks of racism whenever they wouldn’t lend to low-income consumers.”
You don’t have any empirical data to back up that assertion. The fact is, Reaganomics, and a close to religious following of that doctrine by republicans, is responsible here. You need to stop reading little 2 page articles and then thinking you actually know something.
CRA loans have a lower default rate than conventional loans. If you actually knew any of the people affected by this, you’d understand why. By you don’t, so your knee jerks in reaction.
Three specific pieces of legislation, sponsored by the republicans led by Phil Gramm, who later got his money from one of the very banks which he helped with this legislation, UBS. His wife also worked for Enron. During this time, he sposored the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, which removed the protections of the Glass-Steagall Act enacted during the great depression. This was a veto proff bill when it reached Bill Clinton’s desk and he signed it into law.
The second piece of legislation, which was drafted by the financial services industry, which Gramm was working for while the people paid his salary, was slipped into an omnibus spending bill at the eleventh hour, and was passed along with that bill without any serious scrutiny. That bill was the Commodity Futures Modernization Act. The last item that has a major impact here is the relaxation of the Net Capital Rule, which made the Enron fiasco possible. This made much more risky trading possible, with the shareholders taking all the risk. Phil Gramm’s wife was employed by Enron at the time this was done.
Now, let’s look at the mortgage industry. due to low interest rates, and a period of unprecedented economic growth during the Clinton Administration , pretty much everyone who could qualify for a mortgage, already had a house. The only way for those mortgage brokers which were cropping up due to relaxed regulation in congress (the republican mantra was let the markets regulate themselves) was to start lending to people that weren’t on the A list. Independent mortgage brokers had to feed their bank accounts also, and so did anyone working for FNMA and FHLMC. In fact, shareholders (i.e. INVESTORS) always demand ever increasing profits and market share. The only way for any of these people to make any new money was to start lending to less qualified buyers. Blaming the government for this is only pertinent if you take into account the deregulation that allowed these unrestricted laissez-faire transactions to come about to begin with. Deregulation allowed these mortgage brokers to exist at all, since they had no final interest in the transactions they brokered. They were just there to get paid. They had no interest in whether or not these mortgages failed, because they sold them on the open market.
So, we have greedy little slime (Mortgage Brokers) who have no interest at all whether these loans get paid back because none of their money is involved. We have slimy Phil Gramm pushing through legislation which allows financial institutions to set their owns rules. And finally, we have dumbasses like you, who do no homework of their own, and take their talking points from Bill O’Reilly or Rush Limbaugh, or whatever other minister of lies and hate that you subscribe to, and it’s all because you don’t care enough to find out the facts.
That is what republicans are: too lazy to find the facts.

For you people who have a problem of not knowing his background. That’s just your excuse for not wanting to vote for him. But you should hold Ms. Palin to the same standard. She just popped up about a mouth ago. I believe she has come on board with her own baggage. I don’t no anything about her. The only thing I know about her is she is good at public speaking. That doesn’t make her an expert. She should focus on letting us know who she is. (I’m not talking about that hocking mom stuff either). I think abuse of power is a big deal. THEY HAVE HAD THEIR OPPORTUNINTY TO FIX OUR HEALTH CARE SYSTEM, BUT THEY DID NOTHING. AMERICANS CANNOT AFFORD HEALTH CARE. THAT IS WHY WE NEED TO HAVE NEW BLOOD IN THE WHITE HOUSE AND FIX THIS HEALTH CARE SYSTEM ONCE AND FOR ALL. AMERICANS FILE FOR BANKRUPTCY BECASUE THEY CANNOT PAY HEALTH CARE BILLS. THEY SAY THAT THIS IS THE BEST NATION IN THE WORLD. IT IS NOT BECASUE WE CANNOT AFFORD TO BUY HEALTH INSURANCE. VOTE OBAMA/BIDEN TO FIX THE HEALTH CARE SYSTEM.

OMG already the posts by USAF Officer, its quite obvious that the only reason your supporting Palin is that she is a woman. What to any lengths to get a woman in office??? How come were not hearing your take on the fact that they just AFFIRMED that she ABUSED HER POWER in troopergate. I’m sorry “whats that statement” Hell hath no fury like a women scorned… she is exactly that. Please she is a hairs breadth away from becoming president if that McCain who btw if you look into his service record was an officer who got “special treatement” due to his father and grandfather being admirals. He crashed 3 planes before every getting deployed to Vietnam. The people who served with him called him a “hotshot” always pushing the limit … he never would have even been a POW if he flew his mission at the recommeded bombing height of 500-10000 feet. He got shot down at 1000 feet. Get a grip Ms. Female Service Woman. Sry my vote would have went to Hillary, she is a role model…Look at the recent Womans magazine comparision between her and Palin where she beat Palin in every category as a role model. Why don’t you look at the character of the woman and stop looking for lets finally GET a woman into office. Your a joke and a shame to the uniform you wear.

These are debunked and recycled attacks from Alan Keyes in the 2004 Senate race. The only thing Obama did wrong was get confused in an explanation of why he voted down one particular 2003 version of BAIPA after more than 7 different versions of the bill were introduced in the Illinois General Assembly. He, and the rest of the Dems on his HHS committee, voted down that 2003 version because of generally accepted concerns that it could negatively affect a woman’s right to choose in Illinois.
Obama campaign spokesman Tommy Vietor has said that Obama would have voted for the 2005 Illinois bill if he had been a state legislator when it was considered because it addressed the concerns present in the 2003 version, much as he says he would have supported the federal bill, which wouldn’t have impacted non-existent federal law.
These are tired and desperate attacks.

On one hand there is the blatant hypocrisy of the Republican party…our Republican president and his administration have lied, cheated, and misled the American people for the past 7+ years and Repulicans have ignored that completely and remained vastly silent on the subject. On the other hand, Republicans have been trying to present insinuation and speculation as facts in regards to Obama’s circle of influence. It’s obvious that Americans aint buyin’ it.

Thank God we know Palin, what 6 weeks, she lied repeatedly, can’t speak a sentence of coherent English, was found to have committed an ethics violation while Alaskan Gov., and her husband was a member of a secessionist party that denounced America, and wanted to make Alaska a seperate country. She addressed their convention in 2006. She also cut Special Olympics in Alaska by one half. She also was prayed over by preacher who chased a witch out of a village in Africa, and her preacher teaches end times doctrine, beleives the earth is 6000 year old, and they speak in tongues. McLame is a gambler, cheated on his wife while she was in the hospital, finished in the last couple of students in his class, and rated last by Children’s Defence Fund in Senate on family issues. Now for Obama, state legislator, Senator, Harvard Grad., Pres. Harvard Law Review, Constituitional Lawyer, happily married. Now you know Obama.

” If Palin changed tactics on the tone of her retoric, its most likely a political calculation, and probably not her own. ”
is anything she does ‘on her own’? Yes she violated ethics code. That she did on her own, but this campaign run by GOP is just using Palin.
Everything she says has been written by someone else. Even ‘thanks but no thanks’ was written by a GOP strategist.
Maverick? There is nothing maverick about Palin. She is a barbie doll that winks and spouts memorized lines when you pull the cord. Palin is a tool for the GOP. She should be more worried about her political future.

Shouldn’t America elect the smartest possible people to represent us? Don’t people want candidates that are more educated than they are? Sara Palin would be the most uneducated, least qualified Vice President since the 1800′s. She has a degree in Journalism and attended 5 different colleges to get it.
Pres. Bush graduated from Yale and Harvard. He has shown discipline, consistency, and resolve throughout his presidency.
John McCain has not been disciplined in his campaign and is not known for being disciplined in the Senate. He is known for being a hot head, having cursed at members of his own party on the senate floor. That is why he lost in 2000 to Pres. Bush and why he will probably lose to Obama. The Republican party has inexplicably chosen to become the anti-intellectual party and William F. Buckley is rolling in his grave.

USAF Officer is not even going to warrant another comment from me about her. It is quite evident that she is just a competant as Palin is. Aren’t you ashamed as a woman in general to be being represented by a woman of her incometant character. Jesus… did you see the Katie Couric interviews… as I mentioned before did you see she was just proven to have ABUSED HER POWER. And you want someone with those type of morals in the White House and possibly being president as lets face it McCain would be the oldest president ever elected. And even if he did have decent policies not the nothing concrete plans that we havent heard anything about, a president needs 8 years to fully realize the changes and visions he has to fully implement them. Do you want an 80 yr old president….Highly doubtful he’d even live that long. Are you that blinded by your “we need a woman in the White House” to continue this ridiculous rhetoric and continuing to defend Palin. Take a step back and get some dignity for God’s sake. And this is who is represting us in our military…omg are we in trouble. Hopefully your officer status is junior.

Polls clearly indicate the attack tact isn’t working. Since the latest attack tack started McCain and Palin drop in their positives, rise in their negatives and lose ground on people who will vote for them. At the same time Obama RISES in positives DROPS in negatives and GAINS ground on people will vote for him. They aren’t toning it down out of decency and in favor of battling ideas; they are toning it down out of necessity. The attacks not only aren’t working, they are hurting McCain/Palin.

Well, well, looks like Obama will win in a landslide election. Elections will always get nasty and Republicans always live up to their reputation to hitting below the belt, hard. Palin is photogenic, and since the far-right is so repressed, they have turned her into a fantasy. Because of this, she is turned into an idol of sorts. Anything that she says therefore has merit, no matter how discriminatory or far-fetched. Another person in history inflamed people to violence, using racism and discrimination to advantage: Hitler. He preached to white, “christian” folk about the “dangers” of minorities and Jews and anyone else not like them. Blaming everyone else for their state of affairs instead of taking accountability for their own actions Sound familiar? Ultra-conservatives are wired differently and I’ve given up trying to understand or convince them. They just don’t see reality as the rest of us do, only their own version of it which they continually feed off of.

No, Sarah Palin it’s not mean-spirited to check out the other person in a campaign…..How about the fact that you quoted WESTBROOK PEGLER in you GOP Convention speech? Pegler was strongly anti-semitic, and wrote articles about lynching! In addition, he once wrote that when an assassin missed Rosevelt and hit the mayor of Chicago, that the shooter “got the wrong guy”.
Either you admire this guy because you quoted him or you didn’t know who you were quoting–either way, it says alot about your character!

After reading the hate on this forum, I now understand what Kruchev meant when he said “America will fall without a single shot being fired, we will defeat you from within”. I would say his words are about to come to fruition. For a country who always sells itself as the land of opportunity for all, your comments contradict this. Obviously to be a candidate you must be from an elitist group, preferably not a Mother of more than 1 child, and preferably not from a smaller community, not have a christian faith base, believe in abortion, and parrrleeese most definately not a country girl. Absolutely not considered unless you have numerous degree’s and have traveled extensively. Guess that leaves out a vast majority of the populations chances of ever attaining the the dream you sell to your children. 99.99% of them wont stand a chance of running for your highest office.

Palin is a fake. That her down home, ‘I’m just like you’ act is being bought by supposedly intelligent people irritates me. It has been reported that she grossed over a million dollars last year. How many average Americans can make the same claim? I dislike how she uses her ‘aw shucks’ manner to insult her political opponents. Don’t try to appear apologetic when stabbing an opponent in the gut; be honest about it. I have a long list of why I dislike Palin, and it would take a while to touch on each point. I’ll simply say that she is not the person she portrays. In addition to being deficient mentally, she has a mean streak that could lead her to make decisions that do not bode well for the country. This mean streak is clearly evident from the nasty rhetoric she’s been spouting lately. There is no reason to incite a crowd to the point where they shout epithets and threaten the opposition with violence. That’s what she’s done, and she seems very comfortable doing it. That should frighten anyone. The sad thing is there are many hate-filled people in this country who are happy to spew their vitriol, and will not vote for the best person simply because of a darker skin tone. But, these same people will vote in the worst possible combination and regret it later when the economy worsens and taxes are raised. It’s time to look at the issues, to look at the state of the economy, joblessness, the failure of the administration these last eight years, and have the courage to do what it takes to improve the situation. Another four years of Republican control will result in the same, or worse, fate that we’ve suffered with Bush and company.

Both Candidates have had checkered pasts. McCain has been involved in a scandal or two and Obama has had some bad friends. Heck even Palin is involved in a scandal and has repeatedly lied to the public about it. McCain has supported a lot of the things that has ruined the country. Then again, Obama has too. When it comes to foreign policy, and the economy, Obama/Biden is the better ticket.

The reason you don’t get too close to a drowning person is that they will take you down with them. They flail their arms and thrash around and shout all sorts of things. Sound familiar? McCain/Palin supporters do nothing more than mimic their leaders. All the evidence you need is to read these posts. They don’t talk about the positives of McCain’s economic policy or his health care plan or his ideas on taxes. Instead they talk about Rezko or Ayers or ACRORN. Indictment by innuendo. Obama is an arab or a muslim (not quite sure what’s wrong with being either) but no substance in their comments. As we get closer to the election they will become more frustrated, angry and dysfunctional, just like Mr McCain. I suggest this, instead of arguing here with these folks, get out to an Obama campaign office and get on the phone, or go door to door. If you really want to annoy these folks put Obama / Biden in the White House and a Democratic majority in Congress, but don’t waste time arguing here. Like my daddy used to tell me “Never try to teach a pig to sing, you just waste your time and annoy the pig”.

She’s the one who keeps reminding us about the negativity by sayiing “It’s not negative to say….” It’s like she’s heard the criticism, or been told to tone down her rhetoric and instead of giving us all credit for recognizing that she’s toned it down, she repeats this phrase over and over again. Like we’re too stupid to know the difference between her toned down rhetoric, or the hate speech she’s so used to.

Elle asked – “Can someone please explain to me, how does a man who is quoted as saying after 9/11, that his only regret was they hadnt done more damage”
a) The Ayers ARTICLE was published ON 9/11/2001. It was written earlier.
b) As you can now see from (a), Ayers couldn’t have been referring to the events of 9/11 unless he has the ability to foresee the future.
c) Ayers was an activist 40+ years ago. The group he was associated with (40 years ago) did attempt to use pipe bombs to do property damage. Unfortunately, one of the pipe bombs did harm a couple of people. He should be held accountable for that if he personally was involved with the bombs. Remember that it was an *organization*, not a *person* so he may not have had any direct connection to the pipe bombs.
d) The quote about “we should have done more” is being twisted by the Republicans as an admission that the group should have committed more violence but if read in the context of the actual interview, he is simply making a point that the group should have continued their activism. He makes no reference to the violence. By that twist of logic, would one saying we need to “do more” about terrorism today be in fact suggesting that we should engage in more torture? Or that we shouuld simply “do more” to fight terrorism?

Steve, Trent Lott is an old Dixiecrat, do your research. He supported George McGovern, Robert Byrd, and other Dixiecrat’s back in the day when they were trying to keep segregation legal and enforced! Real Republicans(and Federalists) have always been Republican and against slavery and racism from the very beginning of this country, it’s a historical fact. Liberals don’t seem to like that fact, because that’s also why they call the Republican party the religious right, just because of their belief in GOD. It’s simple historical facts. Trent Lott was just a Democratic puppet, that the Republicans knew about. That’s why he was senate leader for the Republicans, because the Democrats would only talk to him because of his close ideology and past with the Democratic party. The Democratic party has a long history of not reaching across the isle, and only legislating with anger, that’s a historical fact. Check it out for yourself, history is awesome, because you can always understand the past in actual facts, instead of passed down lies, and you can also learn from the past mistakes of everybody and thing.

Palin is a pit bull in Prada. However, even a pit bull has pedigree. Her attacks are among the most common of In contemporary usage, “begging the question”, which often refers to an argument where the premises are as questionable as the conclusion, also known in latin as pepito principii. So there we have it, Sarah Pepito Principii Pistol packing pit bull in Prada, aka Attila the Hen.
Her mass appeal with closed-minded is remniscent of Nazi Germany, circa 1933. Ignore this one at your own peril. If somehow McCain should get elected, we will have a born again bigot legislating her bizarre religious agenda through the government, whilst rolling over anyone who gets in her way.
If Mrs. Palin is such a devout follower of Christianity, then why is she committing so many of the deadly sins, and breaking commandments, such as lies veiled in half-truths, bearing false witness against another humaning being, and standing in both judgment and comdenation. Or maybe, like Republicans, these standards are excused when a member of an evangelical non-doniminational church. Perhaps Palin is simply trying to reinforce C.K.Chesterton when he wrote “it’s not that Christianity has been unsuccessful, it’s just never been tried.”

The interview with one of Palin’s friends who was working on her mayoral campaign was very telling. The friend commented to Palin that with her (Palin’s) aggression towards becoming mayor, she should seek the governor’s office. Palin’s response (according to her friend and supporter) was “forget governor, I’m going to be president!”
McCain better get a food taster like the old kings of yore if by some fluke of nature (or stolen election), he becomes president.

It’s these “good Christians”, like Sarah Palin that give Christians and religion in general a bad name. I’m a practicing Catholic (but not necessarily a good Catholic), making me a Christian also but their Christianity is nothing like what I’ve been taught about Jesus Christ. People like Sarah Palin cynically use religion for their own purposes and I believe her “morality” is shaped strictly by her ambition, nothing more.

One of the reason’s they are toning it down is because thier OWN guilt by association was making its way on blogs and You Tube. People say they don’t know Obama, but what do you really know about McCain or Palin. So lets keep it real. I was disappointed to learn McCain was associated and friends with a convicted terrorist and murder and was recently on his talk show. If I were a politician in Chicago, I would do what all politicians in Chicago do — Republican and Democrat — I would work in the system there to get things done, and Ayers is an essential part of that system. It would be pretty silly to say you’d have nothing dto do with him — he has done his time. This is just a peg McCain gives people to hang their racist misgivings on.

What Sarah Palin has brought to the ticket is her own scandal, a less than positive image of her own knowledge of issues and language that has energized Democrats.
Rather than appealing to swing voters she has appealed to the base in a manner that has moved independents to support Obama.
Sarah Palin was a gamble by Senator Mc Cain and he lost on that one. The attacks on Obama have been foolish and counter productive. Mc Cain lost the campaign advantage of experience by picking someone who has no relevant experience and now not only will likely lose the Presidency but because of Palin a larger number of Senate Seats than thought.
The strategy of running as a experienced Statesman was shelved in favor of tricks and stunts promoted by a beauty queen. Sorry, no one is buying this low brow approach to politics in the face of serious national problems.
It is clear that Sarah is going to have her own problems holding on to her seat as Governor and will serve out her term trying to persuade voters that being a hunting and fishing hockey mom is what they need. The rest of the US has decided it does not.

McCain tussles with Palin over whipping up a mob mentality
Sarah Baxter
Video: the second presidential debate in 10 easy minutes
With his electoral prospects fading by the day, Senator John McCain has fallen out with his vice-presidential running mate about the direction of his White House campaign.
McCain has become alarmed about the fury unleashed by Sarah Palin, the moose-hunting “pitbull in lipstick”, against Senator Barack Obama. Cries of “terrorist” and “kill him” have accompanied the tirades by the governor of Alaska against the Democratic nominee at Republican rallies.
Mark Salter, McCain’s long-serving chief of staff, is understood to have told campaign insiders that he would prefer his boss, a former Vietnam prisoner of war, to suffer an “honourable defeat” rather than conduct a campaign that would be out of character – and likely to lose him the election.
Palin, 44, has led the character attacks on Obama in the belief that McCain may be throwing away the election and her chance of becoming vice-president. Her supporters think that if the Republican ticket loses on November 4, she should run for president in 2012.
A leading Republican consultant said: “A lot of conservatives are grumbling about what a poor job McCain is doing. They are rolling their eyes and saying, ‘Yes, a miracle could happen, but at this rate it is all over’.
A McCain official confirmed that there was dissension in the campaign. “There is always going to be a debate about the costs and benefits of any strategy,” he said.

Bob – I totally agree. Palin is a Christian fundamentalist (in other words, an extremist). I am a Presbyterian but grew up Methodist and my husband is Catholic – none of the many churches I attended ever preached about End Days, banning evolution or intolerance for gays and Jewish people like her church does. She does NOT represent the majority of Christians. In fact, there were reports out at the end of last week that showed 60% of regular church going Christians are planning to vote for Obama! SIXTY PERCENT! I was thrilled to read that as I am so tired of Republicans claiming they have the lock on morality and Christianity.

I SURE DID SEE IT THERE. THEY SAID SHE WAS IN HER RIGHT AS GOVERNOR TO FIRE WHO SHE WANTED AND THAT SHE IS VIOLATION OF ALASKA ETHICS FOR ALLOWING HER HUSBAN TO PRESSURE GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES.
MR PALIN GAVE TESTIMONY THAT THE GOV TOLD HIM TO CEASE. SO THE RPEORT IS INACCURATE. AND SINCE WHEN IS IT A VIOLATION TO NOT DO SOMETHING? SHE DIDNT VIOLATE ANY ETHICS FOR SOMETHING SHE DID, BUT FOR SUPPOSEDLY SOMETHING SHE DID NOT DO; REIGNING IN HER HUSBAND. HOW MANY MALE POLITICIANS COULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR REIGNING IN THEIR WIVES?
_______________________________________
The issue with Todd Palin was the level of access he had to the governors office and its power:
**********
From the Troopergate Report:
“Governor Palin knowingly permitted a situation to continue where impermissible pressure was placed on several subordinates in order to advance a personal agenda, to wit: to get Trooper Michael Wooten fired.”
……………..
The governor let her husband, Todd, use the governor’s office and its resources, “including access to state employees, to continue to contact subordinate state employees in an effort to find some way to get Trooper Wooten fired,” Branchflower wrote.
…………………..
“She had the authority and power to require Mr. Palin to cease contacting subordinates, but she failed to act,” he wrote.
……………….
This created conflicts of interests for the state employees Todd Palin was contacting. “They must choose to either please a superior or run the risk of facing that superior’s displeasure and the possible consequences of such displeasure. This was one of the very reasons the Ethics Act was promulgated by the Legislature,” Branchflower wrote.
************************************
The governor let her husband, Todd, use the governor’s office and its resources, “including access to state employees, to continue to contact subordinate state employees in an effort to find some way to get Trooper Wooten fired.”
*
As an employee of the State of Alaska I can tell you: THE GOVENOR CANNOT FIRE WHO EVER HE/SHE WANTS – STATE EMPLOYEE ARE PROTECTED BY STATE LAWS AND VARIOUS UNIONS – WE DO NOT SERVE AT THE GOVENORS WILL. THE GOVENOR CAN HIRE AND FIRE COMMISIONERS (political appointees) AT WILL BUT NOT REGULAR STATE EMPLOYEES.
*
All state employees are required to take reasonable precautions to ensure that friends and family do not attempt to use the power and authority, of the state, that is granted to state employees:
*
As a state employee I cannot allow a relative of mine to use my access to state employees and departments to personally lobby for specific issues; neither can the governor.
*
As a state employee I cannot allow my relatives access to confidential state documents (contract negotiation documents); neither can the governor.
*
And yes you can violate the law by not doing something: “negligence can be generally defined as conduct that is culpable because it falls short of what a reasonable person would do to protect another individual from a foreseeable risk of harm.”
*
The governor’s ethic violation centers on “Governor Palin knowingly permitted a situation to continue where impermissible pressure was placed on several subordinates in order to advance a personal agenda.” A reasonable person (state employee or elected official) would not allow a family member to pressure state employees by using the power and authority of their office or department.
*
Had the governor wanted to she could have had Todd Palin bared from public buildings or from contacting public officials about the issue or she could have told she subordinates not to answer Todd Palins phone calls or request for meetings about the issue.
*The governor has a duty to not allow the power of the office of the governor to be used to settle personal agendas; the governor has a duty to take reasonable precautions to protect state employee.
*******************************
IT WAS NOT UNETHICAL for the governor the fire the public safety commissioner (he served at the will of the governor); IT WAS UNETHICAL for the governor to allow Todd Palin the level of access to the power and authority of the governor’s office that he had; IT WAS UNETHICAL for the governor to use her office , power, and authority for personal gain.

I am in the mortgage industry and talk to hundreds of people every week that are crying because they are getting ready to lose their home not only due to bad loans but also due to loss in their income. Having said this I would like to know where sara palin gets off making a deal with a CANADIAN company to build a pipeline to the tune of 500-580 million dollars. There are plenty of AMERICAN welders, pipefitters, insulators, truck drivers etc that are out of work and losing their homes. If sara palin is such a patriot then why would she not give the pipeline contact to and AMERICAN company. I do not have anything against CANADA but I do have something against a politian sending money and jobs to foreign countries when our own contry is suffering job losses. Why has this issue not been brought up on the campaign trail but the American public or reporters? And, for Senator McCain, I cant believe that he is so ignorant of women. I cant believe that he would think that women of our country are so shallow that we would vote for him just because he has a woman running mate. I never though I would see arm candy as a vise president. I may have voted for McCain, I was undecided at first but my issue is where I may have wanted John McCain in the white house I sure would not want Sara Palin as President should something happen to John McCain. I believe a president needs 8 years to accomplish good in the office and I truly dont believe John McCain has 8 years left. As for our current President it only took him 4 years to run this county in the ground. GOD help the next person to follow him.

CNN is busy playing the race card for McCain. No wonder he decided to stop his foul attacks. They’re doing his dirty work for him.
Ostensibly, they are debating the Bradley effect but what they are really suggesting is Obama may be too black to be president. . In addition they are now quoting Castro in Cuba regarding race. It seems he too, likes Obama . This is disgusting.
Even Fox would not stoop this low.
They follow in the footsteps of that paragon of virtue, Palin.

I pray that McCain and Palin do not get elected. When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.
Proverbs 29:2
God knows we have been in mourning for a long time now and stand to remain so if we don’t change the dynamics. We need a change. Obama has said this from the onset, and now, in the 11th hour, here comes McCain/Palin trying to steal this motto and reword it for their use. Shameful! Many shameful tactics and outrageous false accusations made by Palin/McCain. Too late! You’ve already shown your true colors.
Posted by: Still Got Hope | October 13, 2008, 10:22 am 10:22 am
If you are pondering the McCain campaign’s new tactic… what appears to be pulling back in their attacks on Obama, you should look to the CIA. Obama is protected by the CIA and, because of this, it is highly likely that someone with plenty of power in the CIA smacked the McCain campaigns hands behind closed doors. I almost felt sorry for Grandpa John when he set an audience member straight over the weekend. Too bad he was probably FORCED to back off by the CIA.

I read the “troopergate” report as soon as it hit the internet late Friday night, and have been watching and waiting for it to hit the news.
No luck.
It was glossed over on ALL the Sunday political shows, and barely mentioned on local outlets.
I was feeling very disappointed, until I heard Chris Cuomo on Good Morning America this morning. They had done a teaser about his report, but I wasn’t interested, because I assumed it would be a softball “she didn’t do anything wrong” piece.
Thank God I caught it! Cuomo didn’t miss a single pertinent detail.
He mentioned that Palin claimed exoneration, and pointed out that she was mistaken. He clearly stated that she was determined to be guilty of abuse of her power.
That’s all I expect; report the facts.

Finally after eight long years, we are going to return this country to it’s mark of intellectual superiority. GWB has dumbed down this nation so badly, that statements like “I can see Russia from Alaska”, and that’s what gives Sarah Palin foreign policy experience isn’t even ridiculed as much as it should be. And John McCain and his wife try to give that statement credibility and go beyond reason without even realizing the absurdity of it.
Posted by: jonsid | October 13, 2008, 10:28 am 10:28 am
This IS the new strategy. McCain and Palin are trying to distance themselves from the anger they’ve created in their supporters… after they created that anger in the first place. Now McCain and Palin look like rational, peace-loving people. Thus, when the “October Surprise” happens (probably an attack on Iran by Israel or some other “new front in the war on terror”), they will say: “Look, we’re peaceful, calm people. But we really need to fight this war, and Osama/Obama doesn’t have the guts for war.” All the angry supporters will already be on-board, and the rest of us will just roll over like we always do when they tell us our “national security” is at risk. The Lame Duck Bush White House still has a few tricks up it’s sleeve.

McCain HIMSELF said that the economy was not his strong point. Have you forgotten that? Continue to bash Obama and see if the majority will buy the hype. It is sad to read these comments, to see how truly divided Americans are. We have dissolved into a bunch of name-calling schoolchildren, taunting, teasing, insulting — and the world is looking at us and how incredibly stupid and pathetic we’ve become. As for Obama, as one writer said, he didn’t suddenly emerge out of nowhere. And “ABC” isn’t going to “hide” everything that Tony Rezko is saying, as if they were going to “protect” Obama. Obama is not perfect, but neither is McCain. So, let’s drop that level of hate-baiting. But, I’m sorry, when Sarah Palin says that the terrorists “do not like America because of what we stand for: liberty, freedom, equal rights” — I’m sorry, Sarah, what equal rights are we talking about? I’m an American, but because I’m gay and I have a partner from another country, I can’t come and live with him in my own beloved country because of the level of HATE I feel from my countrymen. Because, Sarah, I am NOT protected under the law. And please don’t give me the Connecticut, Mass/Calif “marriage” laws — they don’t apply to people like me who are in bi-national relationships.
Trust me, with wars going on, the economy collapsing, people losing homes and jobs, I KNOW that my situation is MEANINGLESS in the larger picture. HOWEVER, I do not like righteous politicians who live in fantasy lands and think we have EQUAL RIGHTS when we CLEARLY DO NOT. No, Sarah, the terrorists do not hate us because we have “freedom, liberty, and equal rights” — they hate us because we stick our damn nose in everybody’s business and tell them how they should live their lives.
I’m sorry, folk, but when the US starts a-wanderin’ through ancient cultures and expects to whipsnap them into new democratic copycats, it just ain’t gonna happen EVER. And all the fightin’ and promises and posturing and politicks isn’t going to help, EVER. So, it’s nice that Sara “toned it down a notch,” but, it doesn’t matter, because she doesn’t “get it.”
When we learn to RESPECT each other and treat each other with love and kindness, then maybe we will be free and have equal rights. Right now, all we have is a big “gosh darn” mess!

After “letting America go 8 years with Bush and Cheney–think about it–wars based on lies, torture, illegal wiretapping, ignoring subpoenas, deleting official emails, outing CIA agents, renditon, the necessity of immunity for war crimes–removal of our name from the Geneva convention, violation of the 11th Amendment of the Constitution, subversion of the DOJ, tanked economy, record deficits…
The one thing we have learned at this late hour is that America is not invincible nor can she just bounce back from anything.
You ask for 4 more years of going the Bush way–with McCain at the helm as if this is a game and we should all just be good sports and humor you and the Republican base–here is news to you: America may not have 4 more years in her to squander on the GOP brand of stewardship–we are on the precipice–you ask that we risk a fling into the abyss instead of skidding to a stop and changing directions.

What about Sarah’s radical friends Mark Chryson and Steve Stoll? Though Chryson belongs to a fringe political party, one that advocates the secession of Alaska from the Union, and that organizes with other like-minded secessionist movements from Canada to the Deep South, he is not without peculiar influence in state politics, especially the rise of Sarah Palin. An obscure figure outside of Alaska, Chryson has been a political fixture in the hometown of the Republican vice-presidential nominee for over a decade. During the 1990s, when Chryson directed the AIP, he and another radical right-winger, Steve Stoll, played a quiet but pivotal role in electing Palin as mayor of Wasilla and shaping her political agenda afterward. Both Stoll and Chryson not only contributed to Palin’s campaign financially, they played major behind-the-scenes roles in the Palin camp before, during and after her victory. I have not heard or seen anything concerning her connections to them in the main media. AIP was an organization her husband once belong but not getting the attention.

Too late…Palin is what she is..Vey good at attacking and very poor at presenting a positive image of herself or McCain. After the election Palin should go back to Alaska and restart her secessionist efforts…That way she can become president of Alaska and, by default, become experienced in foreign policy….And since Alaska would be its own country she would not be bound by federal ethics laws and first dude Todd could have total run of the Alaskan White House…

The world is not “good guys” and “bad guys,” and such simplicity is childish and dangerous. There are bad gals, too, for example, who over-simplify things, but through open-mindedness and vigorous diplomacy we can discipline the “badness” of such narrow-mindedness and put rational thinking in its place. Sarah Palin needs to grow up.
Posted by: Vincent | October 13, 2008, 10:45 am 10:45 am
As someone who tries to be an informed voter, I have looked up the information on both candidates. I have looked up all of the connections that people keep mentioning on here about Ayers, Rezko, etc. The reason the press doesn’t keep mentioning it like you do is that months ago they did their own investigations and found that there was nothing sinister about any of it. Do a search and you’ll find the news articles from the New York Times, CNN, etc. Rezko was a realtor in Chicago. The Obamas happened to buy a house through him. The press talked to the former owners of the house. The Obamas made the best offer. There was nothing even remotely illegal or immoral about it. As has been said a million times, Ayers was a terrorist 40 years ago when Obama was a child, far, far away. He is now a professor at the University of Chicago and worked on CHARITY projects with Obama. Other highly respected people worked on them too. They are not terrorists. These are the FACTS.
Unfortunately, my research made me more concerned about McCain and Palin. (I voted for McCain in the primary, BTW.) Despite Palin’s case of denial, she was just found guilty by a committee with a Republican majority of abuse of power. McCain was a member of the Keating Five, a well-publicized scandal where politicians used their influence for preferential treatment from regulators for Charles Keating whose practices led to a huge financial crisis for the U.S. McCain was a good friend of Charles Keating. (The Keatings and the McCain family went on vacations together). Look all of that up.
If facts will convince you, I believe you’ll end up starting to support Obama like I did.

Today it provides a home to all the xenophobic bigots who have made racial intolerance and the preservation of ignorance their twin sacraments. McCain stayed with the communist Viet Cong after they tried to release him.
John refused to escape which violated Article III of the Code of Conduct. Article III requires captured Americans “… to escape and aid others to escape, …”. See Title 10 United State Code of Military Justice.
He refused to rejoin his air combat unit. He refused to rejoin his wife and children. His refusal to repatriate deprived military families about their loved ones who were prisoners of war. He refused to repatriate to provide military analysis with information about location of prisoners, how and where they were moved, assist in planning rescue attempts, and other sensitive military information.

If it is true that the dem’s are really responsible for this mess we are in because of the 1990 change in Fanny and Freddy, then lets take a look at the statistics of bank foreclosures. This would probably blow a “big hole” in this theory by showing that most of them are probably from non-minorities. This is a weak claim to cover for 8 years of the Bush regime, not to mention the greed at the top of these hugh bank failures, it’s a drop in the bucket in comparison. Obama is what we need right now because McSame and company didn’t even know the economy was in trouble!

I agree with an earlier poster – - Palin is none too bright, but its a shame the way she is being treated by the McCain campaign. McCain and his staff talk about her as if she were a second-grader who just got a part in the school play – - “Isn’t she wonderful??? She remembered almost all her lines today!!! I’m so proud of her!!!”
Can you imagine anyone ever talking about an adult male that way?
As a woman I’m apalled by the way they treat her, but she doesn’t seem tuned in enough to care, so I guess I won’t worry too much about her.

That should do it for Obama. With the ability to control the dialogue McCain can pack it up.
The voters have a right to know about Ayers and the rest of Obama’s relationships, and with a press unwilling to do honest in depth looks, he will slide on through.
What all the associations and friendships Obama has had do, is paint a picture of the values and beliefs that Obama may hold, since he won’t tell us himself. These are long term friendships with individuals holding radical views, some who have been convicted of illegal deeds, and who have supported Obama financially. How can Obama simply dismiss these people as being insignificant to his life and to who he is today.
So now, with McCain again being erratic, the campaign backs off from a legitimate issue because of opinions and spin from Obama supporters, including the MSM.
What is left? Well I suppose we can look at the history of what happens when one party has full control of government, something the writers of the Constitution tried to prevent. We can look at the reasoning of giving even more power to the Democartic Party who has failed to deliever on the mandate given two years ago and who now has the an approval rating worse than Bush.
Or I suppose we can celebrate the new Socialist America where dissent is suppressed, and opposing views are all racist. Where business is nationalized, and government takes on the role of your mother, providing all that you need (at least that is what the Democrats will tell you).
This is not the America of my dreams or of my forefathers, is it your?

The blatant racism incited, used and displayed at McCain/Palin rallies reveals what many americans truly are, hideous and bigoted. It has been ok to be racist, anti-arab/muslim but now that it is hitting another less openly admitted (pretending it was over with slavery) area of racismi.e., anti black, we should be ashamed. Hilary enjoyed racist voting for her, Obama himself wants to take all efforts to declare he is not muslim instead of reminding people that religion should not be a criteria for prejudice. Republicans and democrats alike are racist and this is a product of what they both have sowed.

Hi I’m from Liverpool, England I have been watching the race for President and I must say Mccain/Palin come across as two very disturbed irrational people. I’m white and working class but I feel fortunate enough to come from a city that is multicultural. Maverick Mccain and his side kick Palin have appeared to comment in their past rallies about Obama’s middle name. How many soldiers have fought to combat terrorism for the USA and the coalition forces that are named Hussein. One last thing, we are always reminded of the suffering the Jews and the world had at the hands of the last Maverick world leader….Hitler!!!!! Another Holocaust against any other race, nation or people with different religious beliefs wont right the wrongs of past attrocities. Obama is calm consistantly.
We dont need a Maverick or a side kick wannabe maverick with their itchy trigger finger on the button.

Palin is the one pal-ing around with a terrorists – Steven Stoll, Mark Chryson, Mike Christ and her husband!!!
They are all members of the Alaska Independence Party – their logo states: Alaska First – Alaska Always (what about country first sarah?) – their goal – to seceed from the US and create the country of alsaka!!!
This is not conspiracy theory this is fact. Learn the truth!!!
Here are some facts for ya:
On September 2, 2008, the Associated Press reported “Palin has expressed support for the AIP, telling AIP members, “Keep up the good work” [. . .] “And God bless you.” AIP chair, Lynette Clark told is quoted to have said of Palin, “She’s Alaskan to the bone … she sounds just like Joe Vogler.”
who is joe vogler?:
Vogler disappeared under suspicious circumstances in May 1993[4], just weeks before he was scheduled to give a speech to the United Nations on Alaskan independence, sponsored by the government of Iran. YES IRAN!!!!!! (fact)
Convicted thief Manfried West confessed to having murdered Vogler the following year in what he described as a plastic explosives sale gone bad.
PLASTIC EXPLOSIVES!!!!(fact)
Palin backed Chryson as he successfully advanced a host of anti-tax, pro-gun initiatives, including one that altered the state Constitution’s language to better facilitate the formation of anti-government militias. She joined in their vendetta against several local officials they disliked, and listened to their advice about hiring. She attempted to name Stoll, a John Birch Society activist known in the Mat-Su Valley as “Black Helicopter Steve,” to an empty Wasilla City Council seat. “Every time I showed up her door was open,” said Chryson. “And that policy continued when she became governor.”
do the research folks and you find some very “terrifying” info on the Palin family and friends…

It’s puzzling to me that we keep hearing people say “we don’t know Obama,” he was “just a community organizer,” and other vague remarks about his background.
This is a guy who has TWO Ivy League degrees! Columbia University in 1983 and Harvard Law School in 1991. He didn’t just scrape by, either: he was president of the Harvard Law Review. After graduating, he went to Chicago to practice law and teach constitutional law. He served for eight years on the Illinois State Senate. In 2004, he was elected to the U.S. Senate.
Obama is hardly some fringe character–it’s not exactly easy to graduate from Columbia or Harvard Law School–nor become president of the Law Review. He taught Constitutional law, and has served as a state senator and a U.S. Senator for several years.
Somehow this impressive resume gets swept under the rug–and he is made to sound like some neighborhood nut from Chicago.
Why is that? Is it because it sounds too “elite”? We need the best and brightest to lead our country.

Unite against the sexist media and Barack Hussein’s Mugging of Vice President, Sarah Palin!
Women must unite against the liberal media vicious, sexist, cruel, demeaning, contemptuous UN-AMERICAN, unfair, unprofessional, unrelenting and blatantly biased treatment against Vice President Sarah Palin and acting blatantly in favor of Barack Hussein Obama during this unprecedented historic quest for the presidency!
Barack Hussein Obama claims a mightier throne, one forged in liberal ideals of justice and equality and hope, BUT he has benefited mightily from sexism in this campaign, and has remained silent.
Obama supporters seem very happy with the sexist way pundits and some news organizations treat any action or statement by Sarah Palin, and many believe that most of the “venom” in the campaign is coming from supporters of Obama.
Women of America Unite in this defining moment in American history. To ensure we can grow up from the male dominated government that has caused many of the problems our country is facing; to a country where men and women are equal partners in governance.

is this really the legacy john mcain wants to leave behind? i don’t think so. maybe the chance at the presidency is just too enticing and he’s willing to sell his soul, (figuratively), to get there. why perpetuate the culture of fear? i believe there must be positive, more constructive ways to bring us together to solve the problems we face.
i never really believed that mcain was a bad person, but running for office puts one more in the public view. and maybe this is what the reference to his being hotheaded by his peers in the senate was all about. politics is probably too important to leave in the hands of politicians. vote for the person you feel will approach our problems with the best ideas and the best intellect to get us where we want to go.

Falin is still a joke. I was with my 2 sons from college this weekend and we laugh quite a bit about Sarah Barracuda.
She has done irreparable damage to the McSame campaign.
The American people are getting smarter and smarter. They can now, through the web, see video of Palin trying to answer a question about what she reads and not having the ability to name one thing.
All of us have know people like this. They cheat their way through life. They are to their credit very inventive, but at the end of the day, they are under-performers.
Palin is the Governor of the 3rd least populated state in the US. She was the mayor of a city smaller than most mega-churches. Obama’s state congressional district has more people that the state of Alaska. My county CEO governs a larger population.
It’s no impressive feat to beat a corrupt Republican politician and to fill the vacuum that’s left. Corrupt Republican politicians are everywhere. She failed her entrance exam on national TV and the video of the test will never go away.
Sarah, your 15 minutes are almost up.

Manolete, it was Sarah Palin herself who said female candidates shouldn’t whine when they are placed under a sharper microscope. She said such treatment is a given, and the candidate just needs to work harder.
Let her be, she can handle it. Remember, she’s a pit bull in lipstick.

Sara Palin is a weak governor and irresponsible mother! She allowed her husband to harass the intire Alaskan state trooper dept. with her blessing.Withholding an annual pay raise from all, because they(AST) refused to fire a trooper that they had a personal problem with. Todd Palin, her advisor, is an incompent boob! John Macain is unhealthy, being kept alive by government health care insurance that he doesn’t want me and mine to have.
Barack Obama is an intelligent constitutional law professor from Harvard. Joe Biden is an experienced senator, from a well managed state,Rhode Island.
This is hardly a choice. If Macain/Palin receive any votes it will be from die hard republicans whos entire ancestry is tied up in voting republican no matter if its good for the country or not.
Independant voters, like myself, are independant for a reason. We will hopefully look into the possible futures of each presidential candidate.
President Macain?= continuation of current economic, domestic, and foreign policy. The real possiblity of him dieing in office. Leaving the Palin BOOBS as the leaders of the free world. No thanks!!
President Obama?= definate economic, domesic, and foreign policy changes.A chance to improve african-american self esteem immeasurably. He is driven, vital, and charismatic he reminds me of JFK.
If we truly want whats good for the United States of America, we will with one voice instill Barack Obama with our confidence to make our vision of the american way of life fulfilled.

The AIP wants Alaska to be separated from the rest of America, they hate America and she tells them to “keep up the good work”???? They helped her get started and she is still involved with them. Heck, everyone needs to look at her darn record!!!!

Wasn’t Falin’ determined to have “abused power” by a Republican majority committee in her home state.
As McBush’s ads say…
Too risky for our future, too risky to be VP.
How much do we know about Palin away? Seriously, we’ve only heard of her since the latter part of September. She has only given 3 informercial interviews to FoxNews. Her Couric interviews were less than enlightening (not just from the “uses the language effectly” standpoint); we learned very little about her.
She has yet to go on a single open format Sunday Morning interview show, not even Fox News Sunday.
Again, too risky for America. Too risky to be VP.

I was born in 1960 which makes me 48 years old. In 1972, after leaving the military, my father moved my mom, my brother and myself from Texas to Alaska; we drove the Alaskan Highway in a truck-camper. I spent my school years from 6 grade on in Alaska, I obtained a Bachelors of Science degree from the University of Alaska Fairbanks. I have lived in Anchorage, Fairbanks, and a little known place in the bush of Alaska called King Salmon. In 1998 I moved my wife and 2 children from Fairbanks, 5000 miles to Raleigh North Carolina in a minivan pulling a 12 foot trailer back down the Alaskan Highway. Raleigh was a place we had not ever seen or been to before, and we did not have a job for myself or my wife when we arrived. In total I lived 26 years in Alaska and while I am now physically located in North Carolina my heart is still Alaskan.
Since Sarah Palin was announced as the Republican Vice Presidential candidate I have been asked by many people what I thought of her. I don’t know her personally, and I have never met her. In the 26 years I lived in Alaska I have visited Wasilla and Juneau on many occasions. And through all of the various stories published by the media I have gained some understanding of who Sarah Palin is, but it has been difficult to relay that understanding to the people who have asked me about her. My response to them has been, “Based on everything I have heard and read about Sarah Palin she is a true Alaskan. She embodies who the people of Alaska are.” Now the problem is that when I tell people this they don’t know who the people of Alaska are, and it’s often difficult for me to describe who they are.
But I just ran across a news item on CNN that accurately and clearly describes the kind of people that are true Alaskans and the kind of spirit that drives Alaskans, including their current Governor. With the current economic crisis there has been talk about the Great Depression of the 30’s. A story was published at that time about a man named Mr Paul Satko of Richmond Virginia. The story goes that once the depression hit he got the idea of going to Alaska from Virginia and living off the land. Being a machinist Mr Satko scrounged together parts and built a 40 foot boat, a rather unusual boat because he had never built a boat before. Then he hauled the boat across the country to Tacoma Washington doing odd jobs to feed his family. Reaching Tacoma he started preparing the boat for the trip by putting the engine from his Ford in the boat along with supplies for the trip. But while he was preparing the boat the Juvenile court system found out about his plans and took 5 of his 7 children into custody charging that the boat was not sea worthy and would not survive the 1500 mile trip to Alaska and that put his children in danger. To cut a long story short the trip depended on Mr Satko proving to the court that the ship was sea worthy, which he was able to do because they left Seattle and made it safely to Juneau. Part of Mr Satko’s defense to the Juvenile court was that many courageous adventurers looking for a better life left the shores of Europe in much less sea fairing boats to cross the Atlantic to reach a new land, a land of new hope.
The Clearfield Progress, PA, 04-30-1940 reporting on Mr Satko said the following:
It is a shameful thing to have to report that some people snickered a little when Paul Satko’s “ark” was halted by Seattle authorities as he was about to sail for Alaska. Courage and determination and the unshatterable dream of a better future in a new land are never things to laugh at. Satko’s story is an epic of courage that should make the snickerers feel humble and ashamed. It is a fountain of inspiration and hope to see such determined bravery in our time. Satko was unemployed in Richmond, Va. Using odds and ends as material, he built a strange-looking “ark,” an amateurish and flimsy 40-foot boat. He loaded it on a trailer and hauled it all the way across the country to Tacoma, Wash. He supported himself and his brood of children by doing odd jobs. For six months at Tacoma he prepared for the journey to Alaska. He worked at what he could get. He worked at his boat. Gradually he equipped it in makeshift fashion for a 1500-mile voyage—a voyage by a landsman in a homemade boat through unknown waters, with no guide but a vision of a new land where he might hew out a future for himself and seven children. Authorities stopped him at Seattle. The boat wasn’t strong enough, hadn’t enough power. The children wouldn’t be safe. No doubt they are right. But can the United States afford to see Paul Satko thwarted? Is this kind of courage so common that it can be cast aside? How safe were the western pioneers when they pushed off for the west in clumsy wagons, facing hostile Indians and brutal blizzards, and starvation. “Pike’s Peak or Bust!” read the scrawled slogans on the Conestoga wagons, and whitening bones along the trails testified that many fell short. Yet the west was won. Without attempting to judge between Satko and those who are holding him up at the moment, there is something there on the Seattle docks that must not be wasted. It is courage and determination and initiative, and it must not be frustrated. Alaska needs men like Paul Satko, and the United States needs them, and the world!
I know many men and women in Alaska like Paul Satko, and from what I have learned Sarah Palin is of the same spirit. The same spirit of bringing together what some would call spare parts and in the face of great opposition push forward with courage and determination and the unshatterable dream of a better future. That’s what I mean when I say I believe Sarah Palin is a true Alaskan.

A bipartisan investigation found that Palin abused Alaska’s ethics laws when she tried to have the head state trooper get rid of an ex-brother-in-law.
Palin claimed to reporters over the weekend that she had been “cleared of any legal wrongdoing, any hint of unethical activity.”
That’s just not true, and Palin knows it.
She kept repeating her silly contention at campaign stops, instructing one reporter to “read the report, sir.”
Here’s the most important part of the report.
“Governor Palin knowingly permitted a situation to continue where impermissible pressure was placed on several subordinates in order to advance a personal agenda.”
Bad bad choice McCain.

“I still cant believe how stupid people are?!?! Yeah no big deal a lot of Obamas friends are radical terrorist no biggy! Yeah nobody should bringing up that at all! What a JOKE! He is just running for the President of the United States. Obama doesnt have to bring up bad points about his appoinents the media does a fine job of that already!! Gee who do you think Good Morning America is leaning towards? Obama? No say it isnt so!!! You people are sooooo transparent! Its right up there with treasonous trying to sway an election. One question how do you people sleep at night? You must really be scared in order to be attacking Mcain/Palin EVER chance you get!”
Alright koolaide drinker, after repeating all of that typical republilooser rhetoric like a broken record you should cease calling others stupid or transparent and start looking in the mirror a bit harder. You should also refrain from using sarcasm unless it is actually funny, but that is beside the point.
So we’ve gone from one of Obama’s friends is a terrorists to “a lot of them are radical terrorists” have we? That fat a$$ Limbaugh is not where you should be getting your info from chief. Obama’s ties to Ayers have been under constant scrutiny by the media over the past week considering those stories seem to be far more important than how Obama and McCain can fix economic issues. You may also want to keep the mentioning of the word treason to a minimum lest we bring up Todd Palin’s involvement in the Alaskan Independence Party and Sarah’s support for it.
But we agree on one thing, I am scared. It is scary that easily deceived idiots like yourself actually want to elect another lying, unethical, secretive George Bush clone to the office of VP. Someone that consults the bible as her primary political playbook is incredibly scary. I’ve watched Bush crash the plane into the mountain for the past 7+ years. And I’ve sat back and noticed similar patterns in McManchurianCandidate’s management of his campaign over the past couple of months. His unpredictability and frequent changing of course does not instill confidence. I can only assume we would experience a similar style of management if he is elected to lead this country.

“That’s why I say I, like every American I’m speaking with, we’re ill about this position that we have been put in where it is the taxpayers looking to bail out. But ultimately what the bailout does is help those who are concerned about the healthcare reform that is needed to help shore up our economy. Helping the—it’s got to be all about job creation too, shoring up our economy and putting it back on the right track. So health care reform and reducing taxes and reining in spending has got to accompany tax reductions and tax relief for Americans and trade—we’ve got to see trade as opportunity, not as competitive, scary thing, but one in five jobs being created in the trade sector today—we’ve got to look at that as more opportunity.”
This an exact quote of Palin’s response to the question regarding whether or not the Wall Street bailout was a good idea. Does she sound ready for the leadership of the free world? Senator McCain is 72 years old and has had two bouts of cancer. Saturday night used the quote verbatim, apparently feeling that they couldn’t improve on it for comedy.
But Palin isn’t funny-she’s frightening. Sarah Palin is a member of a hate group so vicious that they preyed for the deaths of Mother Teresa and Princess Di, and so crazy that they believe that God answered their prayers. If you are a Mormon, a Catholic, a Mason, or a member of many other decent and respectable groups which they call “corrupt religious systems,” you are on their hit list.

Dear Americans in flyover states:
Please stop electing idiots. Have you ever wondered why a map of the 2006 elections looks like a photo of the country a night, with every place that would be illuminated colored blue?
http://www-personal.umich.edu/~mejn/election/2006/
It is because you slack-jawed mouth breathers vote for pandering candidates that prefer to get you excited about patriotism rather than talk about progressive economic and social policies (like a big America pep rally while the country burns around you).
Sarah Palin is the worst of these candidates. Is Barry a terrorist?! Maybe you should take her word for it: who has time to read these days…you might miss American Idol, right?
Please just stop being stupid. If you can’t do that, ask this “Who would some latte sipping east coast elitist vote for?” The answer is probably a more qualified candidate than you will.

I hear crticism of Obama’s ties with Ayers, but what about Palin and her husband’s affiliation with the Alaskan Independent Party? That party wants to be independent of the our USA!! Todd Palin was registered with that party! That is country first? Separating from the rest of America is country first? You love America so much that you want to SEPARATE from it? What is that? Why hasn’t that been spoken about more?!!!

Palin and her sidekick McCain might be inciting their supporters to violence with their negative campaigning filled with anger, hatred, and racism. If violence breaks out on the streets, America will have Palin and McCain to thank. I’m sure they will not accept the responsibility for the violence but the world will know it is their doing.

They hate us because we are in their lands, we are occupying their country. That’s why, dumb bunny. Shouldn’t she be reading a newspaper?

Pippa writes from South Africa:
When are the American political media
going to find someone else to write
about?
Sarah Palin has been reviled, savaged, hated and mauled by the media and the ‘upper echelons’ of ‘intellectual’ America. In fact, I think she is the
most despised person in America.
Democrats, I ask you to cease from such exhibiting such neurosis over Sarah Palin. She is now a disgraced
carcass with scarcely a heartbeat, deemed ready for the maggots by public and media scrutiny.
Soon, Sarah Palin will sled off back to Alaska where she will again be comfortable with her guns, pit bulls and the revolting company she keeps.
Those racist ‘six pack joes’’, trailer trash on welfare, and over bred families.
Those third grade children she gives a ‘shout out’ to during her speeches.
Alarming as to think how she infiltrated her way onto a public platform! A ‘hockey mom’ wearing vulgar lipstick which now involves pigs!
We in South Africa are horrified by such
hatred exhibited by the American people. A first world Super power?
Obama cannot lose this election.
Study the polls and avail yourself
of this information. Obama has the
White House in the bag, so to speak.
I have visited your country and after

It HAS been investigated. I challenge you to find something illegal, and bring it/show it/prove it. Google this: Newsweek who is Tony Rezko. “Obama associates with terrorists.” Silly, silly claims. Obama was 8-years-old when Ayers’ was plotting as a radical Vietnam War protester. Given that my husband was 6-years-old when Ayers was a “Weatherman,” and he didn’t know who the eff Bill Ayers was before last month, it comes as no surprise that Obama didn’t immediately know of Ayers past upon their initial meetings. I don’t know any 8-year-olds or 6-year-olds who were following the political atmosphere in the 60′s, 70′s, or today, for that matter, and you’re just silly to suggest that elementary school children should be knowledgeable about such things. Today, Ayers is a well-respected education professor. Obama and Ayers served on a community service board together, as did/do many other Republicans! So, the Republicans, who worked on that same community service board with Ayers are terrorists, too, right? You obviously have Internet, so why don’t you use it to get the facts? The truth is out there for anyone, who’s not afraid to see it. Google this: Did Obama lie about Ayers.
Posted by: LC | October 13, 2008, 6:03 pm 6:03 pm
Let me see if I got this right. The Republicans controlled the White House, House and Senate from 2001-2007. During this time frame what did they ever do to stop abortions? Nothing! Why? Because they do not want to stop abortions because if they did they would lose a large chunk of their base. The Republicans need abortion as a rallying point to much to stop them. So Republicans ask yourself, “What has the Republicn party ever really done to stop abortion?” Answer, nothing.
Posted by: hermit | October 13, 2008, 6:25 pm 6:25 pm
Here’s what I don’t get. The Republicans keep yammering about Ayers connection with Obama, but the slightest mention of Palin’s connection with Joe Vogler and the AIP, they go scurrying back hiding like cockroaches.
Why aren’t we talking more about Joe Vogler known anti-American terrorist, and most of all right wing extremist like Mark Chryson and Steve Stoll, of AIP and SAGE, who help launch Palin’s career. Vogler rebuked the American flag in the name of AIP and yet Palin gave a welcoming speech at their convention. And if that isn’t enough, before Voglers demise (black market explosives sale gone wrong), the Islamic Republic of Iran sponsored his cause to present his case for Alaskan secession before the United Nations.
So the next time a Republican starts pointing their finger regarding the same old tired news of Ayers connection to Obama, why don’t they explain to us about Palin’s own connection to domestic terrorists and extremists.

For one thing, we know who the bad guys are, OK? We know, we know that in the war, it’s terrorists, terrorists who hate America and her allies and would seek to destroy us, and the bad guys are those who would support and sympathize with the terrorists. They do not like America because of what we stand for: liberty, freedom, equal rights. Those who sympathize and support those terrorists who would seek to destroy all that it is that we value, those are the bad guys, ok
Posted by: ron | October 13, 2008, 7:00 pm 7:00 pm
Palin said, explaining why people should elect McCain:
“For one thing, we know who the bad guys are, OK? We know, we know that in the war, it’s terrorists, terrorists who hate America and her allies and would seek to destroy us, and the bad guys are those who would support and sympathize with the terrorists. [...] Those who sympathize and support those terrorists who would seek to destroy all that it is that we value, those are the bad guys, ok?”
It’s quite clear that, having spent some time trying to construct Obama as a “terrorist sympathizer”, she’s continuing to push that theme in this speech. She’s said it overtly many times; their campaigners are going door-to-door claiming that there is a “connection” between Obama and Osama Bin Laden. At this point it’s code and it’s understood perfectly well by the base – terrorist sympathizer = bad guy = Obama.
Palin and McCain are reaching new lows in gutter politics. This is disgusting.

RE:
Sarah Palin Tones it Down a Notch
October 13, 2008 7:27 AM
———–
Montreal, CANADA, October 4, 2008
TO THE NEXT UNITED STATES OF AMERICA NEW PRESIDENT:
SIR:
“MAY I CALL YOU “O” ?”
Because of MAIN STREET !
Because of WALL STREET !
Because of the final electoral sprint – ending soon next coming november 2008 – while THE WHOLE PEOPLE OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA has its eyes on YOU.
Everyone expects You to be democratically elected and see that something happen in America.
In March 1983, one of humanity’s most famous spokesmen, Pope John Paul II, came to our country – ‘Haîti’ – and loudly proclaimed what each and every one of us had been whispering:
“Something must change here !”
Today, more than ever, a lot of people of The United States of America stand up, longing for something and working to make something happen.
“Go thou America ahead and show us thy true countenance in a positive light.’ It is up to everyone to play his or her part in order to let thee regain thy mark of excellence !”
With this letter, I am communicating with You, SIR, and with the whole people of The United States of America.
You offer this country what it takes to be a ‘Wonderfull Land.’ Yes, let us say ‘with a great people living and working together.’
Go thou, America, go ahead, following in the footsteps of one of thy sons who is now becoming one of thy statesmen.
With this in mind, to whom else could I entrust this letter sent to his Holiness Pope John Paul II when he set foot on Haitian soil for the first time, as well as its acknowledgment by the Vatican?
That letter to Pope John Paul II is intended to draw attention to the problem posed by anti-Black discrimination and its negative repercussions on the advancement of scientific progress in the West, and more precisely in the realm of Optics.
In the Western world, according to Newton’s widely accepted theory, white is considered to be the synthesis of all colors. Actually, the opposite is true. White constitutes the analysis or ‘visible’ decoding of light or color, whereas black is its synthesis or ‘invisible’ composition.
In other words, darkness or blackness and, we might add, “Black Holes’” – a scientific misnomer designating invisible stars or ‘Black Suns’ – are a source of energy and light. Scientifically, Industrially and Economically speaking, what an asset !
That basic raw material of light energy culminates, in its most radiant form, in the neutralization of all the colors of the spectrum in the form of usually called “white light.”
Therefore “absolute blackness”, the absorption of all the colors, is a divisible component of light. Needless to say, Newton’s theory gives only a partial interpretation of the notion of light, by excluding black. Our contribution aims at demonstrating that the black color is not only an integral part of the color process, but its true synthesis. Light is therefore shown to be a divisible whole comprising an intensity or color scale in which black is the invisible or ‘absorbed’ form of the energy in question.
Allow me, SIR, in order to support my statement concerning Black Holes and radiation, to pose a question asked by Hubert Reeves, Doctor of nuclear astrophysics and Scientific Consultant to NASA:
“What would have become of the Sun, if it were plunged into a high temperature radiance like the one that existed at the beginning of the Universe? [our translation]”
“Instead of emitting light, it would absorb it and, in the end, it would be completely reabsorbed into the cosmic fluid.”
The cosmic fluid is what, due to an “optical mistake”, is called “darkness” or the “blackness of Space”. We are talking about the electromagnetic flux, that immeasurable ocean in which the planets and stars are bathed, like the sea which links all the continents together. Darkness is thus “The Sea of Space.”
“What would have happened if, instead of an ordinary star like the “White Sun”, a Black Hole or “Black Sun” were injected into that primordial radiation?”
“According to Einsteinian Physics, a Black Hole is a place where gravity is so formidably intense that nothing can escape it, not even visible light. Such a hole should suck in and absorb radiation and increase its own mass: E=MC2, always.”
“But after Einstein came Bohr, Heisenberg, and Quantum Physic. From then on, nothing was the same as before.”
“The Einsteinian version of the Black Hole is equivalent to a statement that the matter inside the Black Hole is definitely there to stay, in that volume of space. Let us quote Hubert Reeves: “Such an absolute statement is thus contrary to the “Quantum spirit”, affirming that nothing is definitely localized in one place. There is always a probability of escape. If the enclosing wall is too high, a tunnel will be dug; if the prisoners are patient, they will escape. One has only to wait.” [our translation]
“According to that principle, Black Holes “evaporate”. Matter constantly escapes as radiation. Black Holes “shine!” Their surfaces behave like those of any body heated to a certain temperature and that radiation endlessly feeds that marvelous “Cosmic Fluid” which, wrongly and in bad faith, people keep calling “Darkness.”
Nigra sum “sed” formosa!
Yes, but should we not say instead, I am black “and” comely?
Darkness, which is both source and vehicle of light, does not have to defend itself for being the beautiful and infinitely discreet raw material of the Universe. Darkness is the “Mother of the Universe.”
Also, beautiful and discreet art thou, Haiti. Discreet, yes, but never outshone! Just like the Black Virgin who inspires and sheds her love on thee from the hilltop and even beyond Cité Soleil (Sun City).
Our purpose was to offer a more constructive approach aiming at correcting the abusive traditional, so-called scientific, theories of Optics.
It’s like to say that in the exceptional circumstances in which we live today – in the point of view of FINANCE and ENERGY – no exploration in the mid or long term, by the american expertise , of an additional source of energy, at the same time safe and economically profitable, should not be ruled out.
That is why, we wrote to that authentic witness to the signs of this age, His Holiness Pope John Paul II, the prophet of the new era.
Congratulations to You, Sir, and congratulations to the PEOPLE of The United States Of America – for having made it possible for this day of November to come – to mark the beginning of a “New Era of Hope !”

It was a sad, sad day for America when Palin entered stage right.
Or, maybe not so sad:
Alaskans are demonstrating against her in the thousands.
Hockey fans bood on her parade.
A bi-partisan committee exposed her abuse of power.
Obama’s leads are increaasing by astounding leaps and bounds.
America has seized on the opportunity of Palin to show the world what this country is really all about — decency, integrity and honour — a country that wants the same in its leaders.
Palin is on the train to hell and gone, McCain rides up front with her, and the Republican Party is being hauled along — an unwitting passenger.
It will be a long time before the Republican Party can turn that train around.

I am a woman.
I would never, never consider voting for either Sarah Palin or Hillary Clinton.
Why is it, that of all the qualified and capable women in America, these two ended up as participants of the presidential race?
Hillary Clinton, once fired for being a dishonest, unethical lawyer and a liar — still dishonest, unethical and a liar, the woman who started the vicious, untrue politics of diversion – the woman who stuck by Bill Clinton, who abused her over and over again, because he was her ticket to her ambitions.
Sarah Palin, vacuous but treacherous in her ignorance — the woman who took up where Hillary Clinton left off and brought the ugly character smears to a dangerous frenzy — the woman who doesn’t recognize that she has been shamefully used by John McCain.
Oh for an American Margaret Thatcher. Personal politics aside, there’s a woman, who had the education, the vision, the ability to turn that vision into reality without riding on her hustand’s coattails, without reverting to taudry personal smears, sticking to the issues and revolutionizing world politics.

Why is it bad to refer to a person’s voting record in a campaign? Yes, Obama voted against the Ill. version of the Born Alive act. He has given ten different answers for his stand. That should be a BIG problem for his campaign.
Why did he launch his campaign in Ayers’ living room, work on the board of his charity and then virtually deny having known him? That should be a BIG problem for him.
Why did he attend Jeremiah Wright’s church for so long while Wright spewed venomous and vacuous rhetoric, and then, under public scrutiny, dump him? That should be a BIG problem for him.
None of that is mean-spirited (Oh, my, what an awful invective!) or tawdry or vile. It is not our of place in a campaign. Sarah Palin’s ‘intelligence’ or ‘intellect’ is, however, thought a ‘legitimate target.’
Isn’t something wrong with this picture.
