This campaign was pretty civil until McCain and Palin started stoking racist hatred.
McCain is no different from Wallace, , Ahmadinejad, and all other racist leaders. They all stir up hatred, then cry like babies when it’s turned against them.

I still don’t understand why they think Obama has to apologize for something someone else said. John Lewis may have gone too far, but the man is entitled to his opinion, just as much as the people who make the anti-Obama comments (like Palin).

Unfortunately, John Lewis’s comments provided the perfect excuse for McCain to change the subject from Palin’s ethics violation. Except some of us have attention spans greater than gnats.
Palin VIOLATED an ethical statute. All eight Republican legislators on the 12 member committedd, voted against her. So when says the process was driven by Obama supporters and that she violated no law, she is LYING. The sSenate ethics committed found SEn. McCain used “bad judgment” in the 1980′s Keating scandal. If these two get elected it will be the first time in hisorty that both the Pres and v. Pres. have been officially found guilty of ethical sstandards prior to taking office.

No one from the McCain campaign has said that Obama was or is a terrorist. But what was said is true. Ayers admitted to the terrorists acts and wished he had done more. And Obama choose to work and associate with him for years.

The Presidential Campaign has come to so low that blatant lies by McCain/Palin and the tone of their speechs has made quite a bit of ignorant people believing everything they hear from the Campaign and sources like Fox News.
I see many blog entries where people are getting intimidated by McCain campaign for wearing Obama T-Shirt and likes of people not allowing Obama bumper sticker car not be parked in certain parking lot.
The Political scene looks almost as par with Third World Country where fear, lie and character assault are key to election with ignorant voters adding to it.
Hope McCain/Palin realise they are better than this and run the rest of the campaign on the choice they offer and on their merit.
I do not see any reason Obama to apolozise for what Congressman said which by the way is true.

I think Jake should clarify a critical issue. Sarah Palin filed a complaint that Trooper Wooten killed a moose without a permit. How much time passed between the time she helped eat that moose and she filed the complaint?

The PROSECUTOR was misconduct resulted in Ayers walked FREE, but his wife got the SLAMMER. Plain and Simple.

It has taken me a while to grasp this simple concept: there are many social groups in this country that can not always be counted on as a whole to vote as one. On the other hand, the group of about 40 million people who proudly call themselves what Bristol Palin’s boyfriend says he is proud to be, will likely all vote as a block. It is this unique property that makes them so valuable to the republicans; convince just a few and the rest will follow like sheep. It was this fact that convinced GW Bush that all he had to do was manipulate the Evangelicial movement into believing his dedication to their movement, and he would take the white house. He was right, but now we know what GW Bush really thinks of the Joe-Six-Pack crowd. McCain also needs these folks to win this election. I think that this is why he appears so erratic of late. You would be erratic too if your because your stupid errors, your campaign found itself forced to get up, and repeat over and over again such statements. Statements, that about 80 percent of the population know are idiotic lies. But for his target group, facts mean very little. Because as long as they hear what they already believe, all is well. Even John McCain, could not have anticipated how effective he would be at stirring up this mob. Now, that the secret service has entered the picture to investigate whether or not something he or “that women” said caused a threat to be made, I would imagine that John McCain finally got the message that picking on people who haven’t got a clue was not working. You see the point of this topic is the fact that one of McCains supporters today on tv misspoke and said joe and immediatley said John in refering to John Lewis, who is one of my hero’s because all that he did in brining about civil rights. I was just saying that everyone has embarrassing moments and I gave that as an example. I am not sure why you were offended. If you register and vote the same day you sure could vote as many times as you register. Absentee voting could be done the same way.

Well, as its said…a snake in the grass will show its head…I’ll give Sen. McCain his just dues when he had to stop that woman at his rally from continuing on with her blatant racism…I live the metro Detroit area that has the largest Arab community outside of the middle east…someone ask them how do they feel after that woman was so out spoken…racism in America is still alive and ugly and how so very unfortunate. Presently as it is McCain should apologize for the people at his rallies and I see no need for Rep. Lewis to do anything less than what he has done all his adult life, address racism in this nation
