The Note: McCain Ayers it Out — But Will He Connect?

ABC News’ Rick Klein reports in Friday’s Note:

Until or unless evidence emerges that, on the advice of Jeremiah Wright and Michael Pfleger, Tony Rezko paid for Barack Obama to take Bill Ayers’ course on how to tank an economy, it’s just possible that the current (final?) line of attack by Sen. John McCain doesn’t precisely match this moment in the campaign.

Maybe, of course, the McCain campaign is right. Maybe shady Chicago connections involving a candidate who’s been on the national stage for 18 months will trump the economy and the stock market and the housing crisis as issues for these final three-plus weeks.

"I don’t care about two washed-up old terrorists that are unrepentant about trying to destroy America. But I do care, and Americans should care, about his relationship with him and whether he’s being truthful and candid about," McCain, R-Ariz., told ABC’s Charlie Gibson Thursday. 

"I see matters of judgment and truthfulness and ambition," Gov. Sarah Palin, R-Alaska, said on the stump Thursday.

Or maybe the answer is to tie the big storylines together. New from the McCain campaign Friday: An ad that casually drops the L-word and touches on both Ayers to the economic distress, with Democrats portrayed as anti-regulation.

The ad: "Obama’s blind ambition. When convenient, he worked with terrorist Bill Ayers. When discovered, he lied. Obama. Blind ambition. Bad judgment. Congressional liberals fought for risky sub-prime loans. Congressional liberals fought against more regulation. Then, the housing market collapsed, costing you billions. In crisis, we need leadership, not bad judgment."

The RNC is putting Ayers (and others) into play, too — with a new ad launching in Indiana and Wisconsin featuring Ayers, Rezko, and William Daley. "There’s more you need to know," says the ad. 

But if Team McCain is wrong (and the stock market seems to be rendering a political verdict daily on what Americans should care about, and Obama will have a block of primetime television a week before the election to weigh in like McCain can’t) — get ready for an ugly stretch.

Not just on the trail, either — here come the internal campaign splits that are the real signs of a campaign that’s losing focus amid the prospect of losing:

"Sen. John McCain has allowed a series of increasingly harsh broadsides in new campaign ads and in speeches by his wife, Cindy, and his running mate, Gov. Sarah Palin. But the Arizona Republican has rejected pleas from some advisers to launch attacks focusing on Sen. Obama’s former pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright," Monica Langley and Elizabeth Holmes report in The Wall Street Journal. 

Is someone setting him or (her) self up to say told-you-so? "Sen. McCain vetoed proposals to attack the Illinois senator for his 20 years as a member of the church led by Rev. Wright, whose harsh comments about racism in America and other issues created problems for Sen. Obama during the Democratic primary contest," Langley and Holmes continue.

McCain should be ashamed of himself and the campaign he’s running. And Cindy McCain should probably consult with someone who can bring her back in touch with reality. Her claim, that Obama is running the dirtiest campaign in US history, is laughable enough – it becomes even worse in that Obama’s campaign isn’t even close to being as dirty as her husband’s!
McCain promised to run an honorable campaign. Perhaps he thinks this is honorable. But pretending to question Obama’s “judgment” by trying to smear him through is questionable associations, is really cynical and self-serving. One simple question here: would McCain be doing this if he weren’t slipping further and further behind in the polls? No. He has sold his soul for a shot at the presidency, and it’s only getting worse. And people need to realize it.

I really love this part:

I guess Cindy didn’t know her husband voted against that same bill, plus her words yesterday bit deep into the military. She said of her husbands experience in a war camp that, only a soldier who went to an academy and got that type of training could sustain the torture.
Wow, what about our GREAT military men who are serving us now? What about Jessica Lynch, she was just an enlisted soldier, but she showed true courage!

McCain has not always voted for money for the troops. On one troop-funding bill supported by Obama, McCain missed the vote and encouraged President Bush to veto it, because it did call for withdrawal.

As the lead federal prosecutor of the Weathermen in the 1970s (I was then chief of the criminal division in the Eastern District of Michigan and took over the Weathermen prosecution in 1972), I am amazed and outraged that Senator Barack Obama is being linked to William Ayers’s terrorist activities 40 years ago when Mr. Obama was, as he has noted, just a child.

While I feel the Ayers connection to Obama is relevant, it is time for a report and post on the ACORN/Obama connection, including how Obama and Ayers funneled money to this group from the Annenberg Challenge.
Obama’s ties to this group are deep and long standing, and now he is a candidate for President, and this group is waist high in voter registration fraud cases in several battleground states.

Barack Obama has offered his latest defense of his political partnership with William Ayers. Let’s call it Ayers v3.0. First, readers will recall, Ayers was just some guy in Mr. Obama’s Neighborhood, whose adult children somehow went to the same school as Obama’s daughters. When that didn’t fly, Obama allowed that they had worked on “a board” together, but never really interacted. Now with the records of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge showing that Obama worked CLOSELY with the unrepentant domestic terrorist for at least a DECADE on two boards, Obama has a new explanation — he though Ayers was “rehabilitated.”
The Weather Underground committed many reprehensible acts, including the bombing of the Pentagon, attempting to kill a judge and his entire family, and plotting to kill police officers and their wives in New York. That last attempt failed when the nail bomb the terrorists were assembling blew up in their faces in a measure of poetic justice. And William Ayers and his wife Bernardine Dohrn were part of it all.
Obama says he presumed that Ayers had been “rehabilitated” because he was out in the open in Chicago. However, Ayers wrote a book about his exploits in the Weather Underground and notoriously danced on the American flag to show his contempt in a Chicago Magazine profile to promote his memoirs. He told the New York Times in an interview that ran ON 9/11 that he “didn’t regret” his terrorist bombings, and that he wished he’d done MORE.
Obama wasn’t eight years old in 2001, was he?
That dog won’t hunt. Obama wants us to trust his judgment, and now he’s trying to tell us that he had no idea that Ayers was still a radical intent on overthrowing the capitalist system and producing radical political change. What exactly did Obama think Ayers was doing with his school projects to produce political activists out of children unfortunate enough to get sucked into them — projects that Obama sent money as part of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge? Did he just give away millions of dollars to his political partner without once looking into what he was doing?
That sounds like judgment you can trust, doesn’t it? Boiled down, it says, “Trust me — I’m naive and incurious.”

Even the New York Times is turning over rocks and finding Fraudulent campaign contributions for Obama:
“An analysis of campaign finance records by The New York Times this week found nearly 3,000 donations to Mr. Obama, the Democratic nominee, from more than a dozen people with apparently fictitious donor information. The contributions represent a tiny fraction of the record $450 million Mr. Obama has raised. But the questionable donations — some donors were listed simply with gibberish for their names — RAISE CONCERNS about whether the Obama campaign is adequately vetting its unprecedented flood of donors.
It is unclear why someone making a political donation would want to enter a false name. Some perhaps did it for privacy reasons. Another, more ominous possibility, of course, is FRAUD, perhaps in order to donate beyond the maximum limits.”

Lee – let’s walk through these alleged illegal voter registration cases shall we?
Ever since 2000, the GOP has been screeching about Dems’ so-called “voter fraud” – the Bush DOJ made it one of their top priorities. But guess what? Every time an investigation was mounted or a case was made, it turned out that there was never any wrongdoing. Not a single instance of GOP-alleged voter fraud was EVER proven.
Now, in a campaign-season rehash of these same silly GOP tactics, a Republican organization makes a complaint against ACORN, which has ties to Obama. An indictment is secured (remember, a wise man once said that you can indict a ham sandwich, the hard part is proving your case) during the election so that Republicans can make hay. But I guarantee you that once the election is over, no wrongdoing will be found once again.
Can you say “politically-motivated indictment”? Smart people aren’t buying this crap.

John McCain has sold his soul to win the election. I think he made a tragic error in doing so.
Look at those recent videos of the angry racist mob at McCain’s Palin’s rallies. Is this what we want America to be?
Watch the tape of the guy screaming, “He’s a terrorist!” McCain seems to shudder at that, he rolls his eyes… He doesn’t admonish that supporter.
And now he’s selling the Ayres non-story full-time. Apparently it’s all he has. True enough: he no longer has his honor. But we are on the edge of some real serious craziness here and it would be nice if McCain did the right thing and told his more bloodthirsty supporters to go home and take a cold shower.
But McCain hasn’t done the right thing all year. His campaign is appalling, as the New York Times editorial board said this week – and more, it is a national disgrace.

Court Finds Brunner in Violation of Federal Law
Secretary of State appeals ruling, fights effort to validate registrations
(Columbus) – A federal court ruled tonight that Ohio Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner violated federal election laws by not taking adequate steps to validate the identity of newly registered voters.
The ruling from U.S. District Court Judge George C. Smith called the identification breakdown “a serious problem” and ordered Brunner to immediately comply with federal requirements to match voter registration data with the information in the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles and Social Security Administration databases. The court accused Brunner of failing to provide county election administrators with “an effective way to access and review mismatches.” She immediately appealed the ruling.
“For some reason, Jennifer Brunner does not want these new registrations checked,” said Ohio Republican Party Deputy Chairman Kevin DeWine. “Her refusal to comply with federal law raises serious concerns about her ability to objectively oversee this election. It’s especially troubling in light of her connection to ACORN and that group’s stunning confession this week of fraudulent registration activity happening right here in Ohio.”
Brunner’s effort to fight the court order comes just two days after the Democrat activist group ACORN admitted to the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections that the group engages in fraudulent voter registration activity.
Ohio ACORN officials “blamed the elections board for not scrutinizing ACORN’s suspicious cards,” claiming the group “can’t be expected to catch everything.”
ACORN IS FACING SIMILAR INQUIRES IN OTHER OHIO COUNTIES AS WELL AS 10 OTHER STATES. Members of the group’s “voter-mobilization arm,” Project Vote, regularly advise Brunner on election strategy, even recently issuing a news release that claims credit for Brunner’s directive restricting challenges to suspected fraudulent voter registrations. Democrat presidential candidate Barack Obama also has strong ties to ACORN, working previously as an attorney and “leadership trainer” for the group.

This was former revolutionary terrorist Bill Ayers back in his old Weather Underground days, right? Imagine what Sarah Palin is going to do with this incendiary quote as she tears into Barack Obama this week.
Only one problem. The quote is from Joe Vogler, the raging anti-American who founded the Alaska Independence Party. Inconveniently for Palin, that’s the very same secessionist party that her husband, Todd, belonged to for seven years and that she sent a shout-out to as Alaska governor earlier this year. “Keep up the good work,” Palin told AIP members. “And God bless you.”

The Obama campaign’s Muslim outreach director participated in a meeting in mid September that was attended by several controversial Muslim activists, NBC News has learned. The Obama campaign now concedes that was a misjudgment, and that its top Muslim staffer would not have attended the meeting if she had known the full participant list beforehand.
“Would a campaign staffer have attended if they were aware of the complete list of attendees? No,” said Obama spokesman Ben LaBolt in an email statement to NBC.

On September 15, newly named Muslim outreach director Minha Husaini spoke to a small group of Muslim leaders and potential Obama supporters at a hotel in Springfield, Virginia, several meeting participants and the campaign said. Two other Obama-affiliated Democratic Party workers joined Husaini and also spoke to the crowd. Some Virginia and Washington, D.C.-based Muslim activists and interested citizens attended, and flyers were passed out from “Arab Americans for Obama” stating Sen. Obama’s goals for achieving peace in the Middle East, protecting the civil liberties of Arab Americans and ending the war in Iraq.
Several participants told NBC News that Husaini and other speakers delivered a standard Obama campaign pitch. “They said, ‘We’re here to get the concerns of Muslim voters and let everyone know that the Obama campaign does want the support of the Muslim community,’ ” recalled one participant, who requested anonymity. The meeting was not advertised and some attendees got text phone messages notifying them that day of the meeting’s location, the participant said.
Nearly a month later, the meeting is drawing controversy–and not because of anything said at the meeting itself.
The attendees
One meeting attendee was Mahdi Bray of the Muslim American Society, several of the participants said. The MAS website describes Bray as an imam and “long time civil and human rights activist.” Bray’s critics say he has a history of defending terrorists. They point to a video of Bray at a rally in 2000, for example, in which he can be seen pumping his fist in the air in support of the terrorist groups Hamas and Hezbollah. In a 2004 interview, he called the Israeli assassination of a Hamas spiritual leader an “unlawful, cowardly and dangerous act of state-sponsored terrorism.” Bray did not return a call requesting comment.
Also attending the meeting was Nihad Awad, executive director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations. CAIR is a Muslim-American civil rights group that has, as its website states, “consistently and persistently condemned terrorism and the killing of innocent civilians.” Nonetheless, the group has many critics, especially in law-enforcement circles, and is an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation terrorism financing case.
In an interview on Thursday, CAIR spokesman Ibrahim Hooper said that the group has filed a legal brief seeking to have its name removed from the list of unindicted co-conspirators in the federal terror case. “Obviously we see it as politically motivated and a cheap way to stigmatize” CAIR and other Muslim groups, Hooper said.
Hooper said that CAIR has consistently condemned “every act of terrorism” by groups including Hamas and Hezbollah. But he would not answer whether CAIR condemns those designated terrorist groups themselves. “I’ve already answered your questions,” he said, and abruptly ended the interview. Nihad Awad, the executive director, did not return a call seeking comment.
“Political liability”
A second meeting participant speaking on condition on anonymity said he was stunned to learn that Awad and Bray had been invited to an event where Obama representatives would be present. The participant said Awad and Bray are considered politically “radioactive.” He said that some in the Obama group knew ahead of time that top CAIR officials would be in attendance–an allegation the Obama campaign disputes.
“Yes, when I knew they were coming it made me uncomfortable,” the attendee said. “There was some hope it wouldn’t get out” into the media, the attendee added. “There was some concern within the Obama camp that some of these people coming may be a political liability.”
Chicago-based lawyer Mazen Asbahi also attended the meeting. He is the Obama campaign’s former Muslim outreach coordinator, who abruptly resigned in August after the Wall Street Journal and websites that track fundamentalist Islam began questioning Asbahi’s involvement in an Islamic investment fund and various Islamic groups. When reached by NBC News, Asbahi would not comment about the September gathering or his brief stint eight years ago on an investment fund board which also included a fundamentalist imam.
When informed that Asbahi had attended the recent meeting, an Obama spokesman said: “Mazen Asbahi resigned from his role as the campaign’s Muslim American outreach coordinator and was replaced–he is not an employee of the campaign and does not speak on behalf of the campaign.”
The Obama campaign has been delicately trying to court Muslim American voters in key battleground states while simultaneously knocking down Internet rumors that attempt to link the presidential candidate to radical Islam. Sen. Obama is a Christian.

The Obama campaign would not allow NBC News to interview its Muslim outreach director, Minha Husaini. It issued a statement explaining that she was not a meeting organizer. “Our campaign has an interfaith outreach organization that is equipping people of faith with the tools they need to educate their friends and family members about Senator Obama’s plans to bring the change we need,” the statement said. “This meeting was not organized by the campaign–our outreach staff attends many meetings in the course of each day, and they accepted an invitation from community leaders to attend.”

One of the most hideous, repugnant and gruesome accounts that I remember reading about while growing up was the Charles Manson murders. They strung up 8 months pregnant Sharon Tate and eight others because they were wealthy and brutally stabbed and cut them open. Bernardine Dohrn the wife of William Ayers was quoted as saying “”Dig it,” “first they killed those pigs, then they ate dinner in the same room with them. They even shoved a fork in a victim’s stomach. Wild!” Dohrn, of course, was Ayers’ comrade-in-arms, just as responsible as he for the bombings and the insurrection which landed her in prison while he walked on a technicality.
So what is all the talk about Barack Obama being close friends with these people? Obama made a statement to the public that he was only 8 years old when this occurred, and that this man is just a man in his neighborhood. However we now know that Barack Obama has lied to us. Barack Obama was hand-chosen by Ayers to serve as board chair on Ayers’ radical, $140 million educational initiative, the Chicago Annenberg Challenge where Barack Obama served as Chairman for years (this was not when he was 8 years old, this was just a few years ago). Barack Obama also served with Ayers on the Wood Fund, which channeled $75,000 in grant money to the Arab-American Action Network, a group founded by Rashid Khalidi.
In fact, Barack Obama’s very first political fundraiser was at the home and in the living room of none other than William Ayers and wife Bernardine Dohrn.
Obama said this man was just a man in my neighborhood. The public better take a closer look and quick—-the American people are being swindled and deceived.

An interesting letter to the Times today. The lead prosecutor on the Ayers case, William Ibershof, doesn’t buy the current attacks.
The prosecutor: “Although I dearly wanted to obtain convictions against all the Weathermen, including Bill Ayers, I am very pleased to learn that he has become a responsible citizen.
Because Senator Obama recently served on a board of a charitable organization with Mr. Ayers cannot possibly link the senator to acts perpetrated by Mr. Ayers so many years ago.”
Also, he clarifies something rather important:
“I do take issue with the statement in your news article that the Weathermen indictment was dismissed because of “prosecutorial misconduct.” It was dismissed because of illegal activities, including wiretaps, break-ins and mail interceptions, initiated by John N. Mitchell, attorney general at that time, and W. Mark Felt, an F.B.I. assistant director. “

The Palins’ un-American activities

“My government is my worst enemy. I’m going to fight them with any means at hand.”
This was former revolutionary terrorist Bill Ayers back in his old Weather Underground days, right? Imagine what Sarah Palin is going to do with this incendiary quote as she tears into Barack Obama this week.
Only one problem. The quote is from Joe Vogler, the raging anti-American who founded the Alaska Independence Party. Inconveniently for Palin, that’s the very same secessionist party that her husband, Todd, belonged to for seven years and that she sent a shout-out to as Alaska governor earlier this year. (“Keep up the good work,” Palin told AIP members. “And God bless you.”)
AIP chairwoman Lynette Clark told me recently that Sarah Palin is her kind of gal. “She’s Alaskan to the bone … she sounds just like Joe Vogler.”
So who are these America-haters that the Palins are pallin’ around with?
Before his strange murder in 1993, party founder Vogler preached armed insurrection against the United States of America. Vogler, who always carried a Magnum with him, was fond of saying, “When the [federal] bureaucrats come after me, I suggest they wear red coats. They make better targets. In the federal government are the biggest liars in the United States, and I hate them with a passion. They think they own [Alaska]. There comes a time when people will choose to die with honor rather than live with dishonor. That time may be coming here. Our goal is ultimate independence by peaceful means under a minimal government fully responsive to the people. I hope we don’t have to take human life, but if they go on tramping on our property rights, look out, we’re ready to die.”
This quote is from “Coming Into the Country,” by John McPhee, who traipsed around Alaska’s remote gold mining country with Vogler for his 1991 book. The violent-tempered secessionist vowed to McPhee that if any federal official tried to stop him from polluting Alaska’s rivers with his earth-moving equipment, he would “run over him with a Cat and turn mosquitoes loose on him while he dies.”
Vogler wasn’t just a blowhard either. He put his secessionist ideas into action, working to build AIP membership to 20,000 — an impressive figure by Alaska standards — and to elect party member Walter Hickel as governor in 1990.
Vogler’s greatest moment of glory was to be his 1993 appearance before the United Nations to denounce United States “tyranny” before the entire world and to demand Alaska’s freedom. The Alaska secessionist had persuaded the government of Iran to sponsor his anti-American harangue.
That’s right … Iran. The Islamic dictatorship. The taker of American hostages. The rogue nation that McCain and Palin have excoriated Obama for suggesting we diplomatically engage. That Iran.
AIP leaders allege that Vogler, who was murdered that year by a fellow secessionist, was taken out by powerful forces in the U.S. before he could reach his U.N. platform. “The United States government would have been deeply embarrassed,” by Vogler’s U.N. speech, darkly suggests Clark. “And we can’t have that, can we?”
The Republican ticket is working hard this week to make Barack Obama’s tenuous connection to graying, ’60s revolutionary Bill Ayers a major campaign issue. But the Palins’ connection to anti-American extremism is much more central to their political biographies.
Imagine the uproar if Michelle Obama was revealed to have joined a black nationalist party whose founder preached armed secession from the United States and who enlisted the government of Iran in his cause? The Obama campaign would probably not have survived such an explosive revelation. Particularly if Barack Obama himself was videotaped giving the anti-American secessionists his wholehearted support just months ago.
Where’s the outrage, Sarah Palin has been asking this week, in her attacks on Obama’s fuzzy ties to Ayers? The question is more appropriate when applied to her own disturbing associations.

John McCain: If your campaign does not stop equating Sen. Barack Obama with terrorism, questioning his patriotism and portraying Mr. Obama as “not one of us,” I accuse you of deliberately feeding the most unhinged elements of our society the red meat of hate, and therefore of potentially instigating violence.
At a Sarah Palin rally, someone called out, “Kill him!” At one of your rallies, someone called out, “Terrorist!” Neither was answered or denounced by you or your running mate, as the crowd laughed and cheered. At your campaign event Wednesday in Bethlehem, Pa., the crowd was seething with hatred for the Democratic nominee – an attitude encouraged in speeches there by you, your running mate, your wife and the local Republican chairman.
Shame!
John McCain: In 2000, as a lifelong Republican, I worked to get you elected instead of George W. Bush. In return, you wrote an endorsement of one of my books about military service. You seemed to be a man who put principle ahead of mere political gain.
You have changed. You have a choice: Go down in history as a decent senator and an honorable military man with many successes, or go down in history as the latest abettor of right-wing extremist hate.
John McCain, you are no fool, and you understand the depths of hatred that surround the issue of race in this country. You also know that, post-9/11, to call someone a friend of a terrorist is a very serious matter. You also know we are a bitterly divided country on many other issues. You know that, sadly, in America, violence is always just a moment away. You know that there are plenty of crazy people out there.
Stop! Think! Your rallies are beginning to look, sound, feel and smell like lynch mobs.
John McCain, you’re walking a perilous line. If you do not stand up for all that is good in America and declare that Senator Obama is a patriot, fit for office, and denounce your hate-filled supporters when they scream out “Terrorist” or “Kill him,” history will hold you responsible for all that follows.
John McCain and Sarah Palin, you are playing with fire, and you know it. You are unleashing the monster of American hatred and prejudice, to the peril of all of us. You are doing this in wartime. You are doing this as our economy collapses. You are doing this in a country with a history of assassinations.
Change the atmosphere of your campaign. Talk about the issues at hand. Make your case. But stop stirring up the lunatic fringe of haters, or risk suffering the judgment of history and the loathing of the American people – forever.
We will hold you responsible.

And Obama\Biden are right it is viewed as cowardly to snipe at someone behind their back and not confront them in person. McCain won’t do this. McCain has his own skeletons in his closet including his well-renown temper. This included an extremely offensive and disrespectful slur said to his wife in the presence of others. If I were Democrats I would bring this up….it goes to who John McCain is. If he is so disrespectful of his wife in the presence of others what would he say to foreign leaders in heated negotiations. McCain is noted for his slurs when he gets angry. He does not have the temperment or judgement to run this country. Also, when has John McCain ever explained his conduct of carousing and adultery with his present wife? He needs to be questioned on that as well. I have a close friend who is about as conservative as can be. I am not. He happens to have lung cancer and we have found a way not to let politics get too heated. My advice to Republicans is to figure out who they really are and what they really believe in. Then select leaders that intellectually articulate those positions. I do not like Newt Gingrich’s positions at all but I do respect his ability to communicate them in a clear, intelligent manner. McCain and Palin clearly do not have the ability to do this and so the Republican party compensates by using fear. And Republicans need to stop finding others to blame and be more retrospective and understand that they are to blame for own troubles and stop blaming others (Clintons did this to). Once, voters see that Republicans really do have fresh ideas they will respond. But this election is lost to Republicans now and what we are witnessing is desparation that has become unseemly,

The Washington Times has released an expose’ of Obama’s attempt to sway the Iraqi leaders,in private conversations, when Bush was negotiating with the Iraqi government to keep the US military presence there, to get congressional approval first. This occurred two weeks after Obama announced his campaign and urged the Iraqi government to delay an agreement with the president until after the November 4th election. One protester held two signs that said ‘8 is enough’….., too bad that 3 years in the Senate isn’t enough. Instead of spreading second-hand information, I suggest you attend a Republican rally when it comes to your town. Overseas, we’re fighting two wars, an increasingly belligerent Iran, a resurgent Russia eager to reassert it’s influence on the former soviet bloc, ukraine destabilized, China rising, and North Korea unresolved, our alliances strained due to our unilateralim…and here we have John McCain playing these dirty totally irrelevant political games, inciting hate in the electorate, destabilizing the markets with his political maneuvers, appointing an extremist running mate who knows NOTHING about the economy and the world a 72-year old heartbeat away from presidency, and dividing the country along choices (guns, race, abortion, religion, left-right) that are totally irrelevant to this new and very threatening environment, and having absolutely no solid plans to get us out of it. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! I cannot believe that John McCain is STILL not interested in challenging Obama’s plans, and presenting to the American public why his plans are PRACTICALLY superior or relevant to the current environment, or how his approach is a significantly different approach to the failures of the last 8 years. These are the characteristics of the tune that the John McCain campaign is playing. It is a jig that only the ignorant, bigoted, racist, component of American society can dance to. It is a hymn that only the hypocritical, cowardly, superstitious, and fearful can hum. It is the drum cadence of a march in a parade which has long been over and should have been long forgotten. Who can keep time with such an erratic rhythm?
During the course of the last two months I have seem a man that I once respected because of his sacrifice and military service. Like some I might even at some point called him a hero. A hero not because he was shot down and captured and spent time in a POW camp, because there is nothing heroic about that, but because of his continued service after that, when he could have very well retired. But now I sense that all of that was a cloak of deception that hid his true ambition for power at any cost, and his true cynical nature. He has allowed his campaign to become an instrument of hatred; Playing the “Sour Note” of racism in the hope that old prejudice and racist attitudes will be resurgent and propel his feeble attempt at a campaign into the highest office in the land on the backs of dishonesty, racial division, and fear; Never realizing that this type of rhetoric strikes a “Dissonant Tone” with the American populous. It is dissonant because it strikes a cord of conflict and hypocrisy. A house divided against it’s self can not stand; a servant can not serve two masters. These are precepts that are deeply rooted in the minds and hearts of all Americans. Just as the noble idea of a nation that is dedicated to idea of freedom and justice for all. It is that noble tone of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness that strikes a harmonious chord in the hearts of most Americans. It is a song that we all want to sing. It is only the requiem of that same hope that John McCain is now playing. This is a question that every American should ask. Especially those white Americans who are blinded by racist ideas in that they will not vote for Barack Obama simply because of the color of his skin, or the name that he did not choose to have. Talk about ambition putting our troops in harms way! How about McCain insisting that there are neighborhoods in Iraq where Joe Schmoe can walk around safely? His ambition is dependent on pushing the surge down our throats, and keeping troops in Iraq indefinitely. Imagine if another country with 20 times our military technology invaded America to remove Bush from power and decided to stick around for five years. I’d be a terrorist in their eyes too. So how do you define ‘victory’ in Iraq? Killing every citizen there? Bush is our problem and we don’t need some other country pretending to be our daddy. Let’s take care of our own problem – vote for Obama!

I agree with those asking why the media is accommodating the McCain campaign and putting his messages on the front page. Then in the next breath, McCain is accusing the media of being unfair to him. Isn’t it obvious that McCain is manipulating the media? Sadly, tabloid style coverage of this election will continue to prevail and the media will continue to push McCain’s agenda by non-stop reporting of the lies and smears his campaign issues. What a shame to give the fascist ticket of McCain/Palin such access to the media. Shame on the media for its poor, uneven coverage of these campaigns.

We are the undecided-the Clinton leftovers. These are the things that Obama should have known: that Rev Wright was a Racist, that Rezko was a shady man who raised funds for him. And Ayers, background in terrorism against America was well known to Obama when they ran around. He has refuted all these associations. What America does not know is that Obama will raise taxes on the Middle class once he gets into office. The other thing we found out is that Obama had a sexual relationship with Larry Sinclair in 1999 and did cocaine with him. Obama is for gay marriage and would not put it past him to think that a gay presidency is in his future administration. He does not want to refute the relationship with Larry, because all the gay surrogates working for his campaign would leave, and that would signal that he is not going to work for their agenda. We were told that the reason he did not want to work within the campaign financing was to raise undetected millions on his own. He’s the richest black candidate in world’s history, and that some of the monies is from terrorism groups. He knows that there is no way to verify until the election is over. As, we cannot verify the voter fraud that is going on by Acorn for him. The bad economy is due to illegal aliens getting credit cards, and purchasing homes they could not afford. If Obama wins by false tactics, there will be a race war..

Is Barack Obama using a “Weatherman to know which way the wind blows”?
Concerning Barack Obama’s somewhat “hushed” relationship with former Weather Underground Organization (WUO) leader William Ayers, I’m starting to wonder how heavily he has been leaning on the mentorship of the former “Weatherman” in order to “know which way the wind blows” (i.e., to the far left?). The relationship between Obama and Ayers may well be neighborly and innocuous, but then again there may be more to this relationship than currently meets the public eye, and this aspect makes me nervously wonder about the real Barack Obama and where he really stands on issues of ideology, etc. And this area of concern is primarily due to my recollections and memories of Ayers in his role as one of the leaders of the original “Weatherman” radical group of the late 1960s (which then became known as the Weather Underground Organization, or WUO). My primary recollections causing my concerns are as follows …
In the late 1960′s William Ayers’ WUO group basically declared war on the government of the United States, and in its founding manifesto the WUO called for a “white fighting force” to be allied with the “Black Liberation Movement” (e.g., Black Panthers, et al.) and other radical “movement” groups of the time in order to achieve the destruction of “U.S. Imperialism” and to achieve a Marxist society void of socio-economic classes. In addition, Ayers’ WUO rejected the vogue peace movement ideologies of the time, calling instead for armed struggle against the United States government (and the law-abiding citizens), advocating the overthrow of U.S. styled capitalism, and calling upon all “radicals” of the time to help invoke a race war against the white United States “Establishment” on the behalf of black Americans and the non-white Third World citizens. This major aspect of Ayers’ WUO ideology, coupled with the notion that Ayers has Obama’s ear, I find to be particularly disturbing. I personally feel that race relations in the United States have come along way since the late 1960s (although understandably there is still alot off room for improvement, growth and understanding), so in my opinion any “flashback” to the WUO race related ideologies of late 1960s on the part of the presumed new president and his “advisors” would be very counter-productive.
And if my memory also serves me right, a large part of the bootcamp training for WUO members consisted of travelling illegally to Cuba in in order to receive training as operative terrorists under the guise of the new-left Marxist ideology. This training was led by some of Fidel Castro’s cronies, and also included the involvement of a Russian KGB colonel (Vadim Kotchergine) who was an expert in teaching urban warfare with a Marxist bend. WUO members then brought this training back to the United States and proceeded to develop the weapons of urban warfare (i.e., bombs) and place them at places deemed strategic (e.g., police stations, court houses, university administration and ROTC buildings, etc.). This resulted in the deaths and/or maiming of numerous innocent Americans, including several officers of the law. And to top it all off, Bill Ayers and his WUO cohorts also lauded infamous serial murderer Charles Manson and his “family” cult members after they committed their heinous acts in the Hollywood, CA community. So I suppose my primary question here should be why is presidential nominee Barack Obama’s “mentor” William Ayers currently “free as a bird” and teaching at a local university in Chicago, when in fact he is admittedly and unashamedly “guilty as hell” of having collaborated in domestic terrorist activities in the past that led to numerous deaths, injuries, and the wholesale destruction of property? And with this in in mind, then how large a role has Bill Ayers really played (i.e., both now and in the past) in terms of being a “mentor” to our presumed new president Barack Obama? I honestly hope that this relationship/ mentorship really was/is more on the neighborly and innocuous side and less on the radical ideologue side. But time will certainly tell.
Note: I sincerely believe that we need some change in direction from that of the past eight to sixteen years, but the thought of reviving the radical mantras of the late 1960s forty years later and having it expedited in some form from the office of the President is not the type of “Movement” that most Americans are seeking.
