The Note: Scare Tactics from McCain, Palin

ABC News’ Rick Klein reports in Friday’s Note:

Which represents the biggest threat to Sen. John McCain?

His running mate . . .

His staff . . .

Elites . . .

Wallets . . .

The fact that Sen. Barack Obama will get MORE coverage while far from any battleground state . . .

An ad environment that’s past the saturation point (or is that a good thing?) . . .

Read the rest of The Note — and get all the latest on the 2008 election, Congress, the White House and the wide world of politics every day — from Rick Klein by bookmarking this link.

McCain won’t have Obama money to put behind it — but the message in his latest ad is as sharp as they come, and as sharp as he’s likely to get (and hits while Obama is visiting grandma, no less).

We hear Sen. Joe Biden’s words, and we see tanks, ships, marching terrorists, Chavez, Ahmadinejad — then a cut to black: “It doesn’t have to happen. Vote McCain.” (It’s 3 am, and we think we’re meant to smell daisies.)

There’s not far to go beyond this — and plenty of questions about whether this is too late, if not too little, or too irrelevant (Dow futures down 550 points Friday morning).

We’re about to find out if there’s a way to still frighten voters about Obama (and between taxes, experiences, and national security — McCain hopes there are many ways). If nothing else, the new tack scratches an itch in the party base — but McCain needs it to do more than that at this stage.

Friday brings a new message from Gov. Sarah Palin, too — her first policy speech of the campaign (!), calling for greater support for special-needs children (and attacking Obama on taxes). (A better story to tell than her “Troopergate” deposition Friday.)

Plus — pushback on the clothing story: “That is not who we are. . . . That whole thing is just, bad!” Palin tells the Chicago Tribune’s Jill Zuckman. “Oh, if people only knew how frugal we are.”

Zuckman: “ ‘It’s kind of painful to be criticized for something when all the facts are not out there and are not reported,’ said Palin, saying the clothes are not worth $150,000 and were bought for the Republican National Convention. Still, she has been wearing pricey clothes at campaign events this fall. She said they will be given back, auctioned off or sent to charity. Most of them, she said, haven’t even left the belly of her campaign plane.”

Funny that’s how most people feel about Obama with the media not reporting all the facts and covering up for him. Spoon feeding what they want people to know with their biased reporting.
Get the facts people, do the research, the information is out there should you choose to educate yourselves rather than keep your head in the sand.
Lets not “spread the wealth”, Lets not spend spend spend like the Obama campaign is doing right now, clothes are nothing compared the the 2 million being spent on his election night party.

Why is it presumed that a former junior level Navy officer that was taken prisoner in a war that took place over 30 years ago would not be tested by our enemies? Saying you know how to win wars isn’t the same as having won wars and neither of these guys has had to make a decision to take us into or attempt to avoid war. One has supported the most ill-advised intervention since the Spanish American War and is known for his hot temper and “from the gut” decision making. Is this the candidate or given their record the party that ouht to be raising questions about who will exercise mature judgment? It seems to me that our foreign policy for at least the last 8 years has been based on a dangerous mix of wishful thinking and a firm belief that all our enemies are stupid or deranged or both.

WHY DOESN’T SARAH PALIN want to be ‘labeled’ a feminist? (Labels like ‘socialist’ are just fine, right?)
Maybe the real reason is that John McCain has made a career out of voting against women.
Suppose a woman found out, after a lifetime of working for a company, that she had been intentionally discriminated against by her employer all that time.
That would be illegal.
Now suppose she went to court, which is where we settle our disputes instead of using a six-shooter, to ask for justice and she PROVED her case and PROVED that the discrimination was intentional and PROVED that this had been going on for 30 years. And she won her case.
BUT THAT same company, the one that intentionally discriminated against her for 30 years, takes it to the highly political U.S. Supreme Court. And that court ruled, 5-4, that this southern lady was NOT ENTITLED to sue.
Their reason? It had been 30 years since the FIRST discriminatory paycheck!
That’s right, if she had somehow discovered within 6 MONTHS of her first discriminatory paycheck and sued, that would be fine. But having not been shown the SECRET list of salaries, she did not know and did not sue. SO CASE DISMISSED!
Democrats in the Congress know right from wrong. So they attempted to pass a law whose only purpose was to overturn the Supreme Court’s erroneous decision and RETURN THE LAW to it’s previous interpretation.
Barack Obama voted FOR the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act.
John McCain SUPPORTED the low life Republican filibuster.
UNDERSTAND, more that 50 of the 100 members of the Senate supported Lilly Ledbetter. But the Republicans WOULD NOT allow it to come to a vote.
This should be sufficient reason, by itself to throw every single Republican out of Congress. And of course, John McCain doesn’t deserve to be either Senator or President. Period.

It’s funny the right thinks the media never prints the truth but they will believe anything that a crackpot writes on the internet. No investigation, no documentation just something that some nut writes.
It looks like that McCain and Palin are starting to believe their own lies and untruths.
Even in Seattle there’s a nut who has filed a suit to get Obama’s name off the ballot saying he’s not a citizen. When it’s thrown out I hope they bill this guy for the expense he’s caused.
I must admit, I do enjoy watching the republican party implode. Have any of you watched the interaction between McCain and Palin? There’s no love lost there.

SOMEBODY ASK Sarah Palin:
Which candidate is mostly concerned with the middle class?
ANSWER: That would be Barack Obama, who has proposed taking back the Bush tax cut, which John McCain called unconsciousable and tilted in favor of the most wealthy and voted against, and use that money to give a break to middle class Americans making less than $250,000 a year.
Somebody ask Sarah Palin:
What is Socialism, anyways?
ANSWER: Socialism is where the state takes ownership of private companies, something that no Republican or Democrat has suggested!

geevill- I think there was a he11 of a lot more VOTER FRAUD in the last 2 elections!

Posted by: Redneck4Reason | October 24, 2008, 9:20 am 9:20 am

Hey “geevill” – forget about ACORN voter fraud – which has proven to be negligible. How about voter suppression – hundreds of thousands of eligible voters being stricken from voting lists? Robert F. Kennedy Jr. wrote an article about this that is stunning. The noise about ACORN is another distraction – meanwhile Republican operatives are working hard to steal ANOTHER election – like they did in Florida in 2000, and Ohio in ’04.
Meanwhile, Palin is making herself into even more of a joke. The clothes aren’t actually worth 150,000 dollars? Really? The receipts say they are? Are reporters just making these numbers up, Palin, or are you lying again? “That’s not who we are” Palin says, about the clothing scandal. Words – but they don’t mean anything. Palin wants to think that what she says matters more than reality, but the reality is her “hockey mom” image is meant to appeal to the middle class voters McCain needs and is losing. In reality, the Palins net worth is well over a million, they own several properties, a plane, a boat, and now 150,000 worth of clothing – more than Joe the Plumber will spend on clothes for his whole family, in his whole life.

This is always one of the last plays the GOP makes in any election.
They are running out of options, so they go to base attacks like this.
“If you vote for Obama, you will die!” is all they have left to throw.

2008 the Year of the Republican Party Implosion. What a great year :)

Posted by: Jwench | October 24, 2008, 9:22 am 9:22 am

Geevill,
Why don’t you take the liberty to explain William Timmons (currently employed as McCain’s transition chief), as he lobbied for Freddie/Fannie and Saddam Hussein reported as “William Timmons, the Washington lobbyist who John McCain has named to head his presidential transition team, aided an influence effort on behalf of Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein to ease international sanctions against his regime. The two lobbyists who Timmons worked closely with over a five year period on the lobbying campaign later either pleaded guilty to or were convicted of federal criminal charges that they had acted as unregistered agents of Saddam Hussein’s government.
During the same period beginning in 1992, Timmons worked closely with the two lobbyists, Samir Vincent and Tongsun Park, on a previously unreported prospective deal with the Iraqis in which they hoped to be awarded a contract to purchase and resell Iraqi oil. Timmons, Vincent, and Park stood to share at least $45 million if the business deal went through.”
Oh, why don’t you also explain Keating 5 to us and McCain’s friendship with G. Gordon Liddy, a man that drew up plans to bomb several buildings himself and called Hitler an inspiration (probably reflects Palin/McCain’s own racist views/rallies)?
I have more things for you to explain once you’re finished with this, and that includes Cindy McCain and Sarah Moron. Good Luck! And good luck after Nov. 4th when Obama is YOUR president.

John McCain made a huge mistake in choosing Palin as his vp. Not only has she proven herself to be incredibly unknowledgeable but she also is beginning to prove herself to be a snake. Her undermining of McCain is creeping into their campaign little by little and may just do him in. The more moderate republicans are bailing, from Colin Powell on down. Palin will be responsible for McCain’s loss on Nov. 4.

“We’re about to find out if there’s a way to still frighten voters about Obama”
Since McCain is the candidate with the stated policy of ‘tanks before talks,’ not to mention the public record of being a Bush enabler these last eight years that is there in black and white (and hugging photos) no matter how many times he says “maverick,” I suspect this will backfire on him. Senator Obama is clearly the candidate who is most likely to reduce the fights our boys get fed into, through things McCain – just like President Bush – dismisses. Things like diplomacy and international action.
Remember how well the first President Bush played the international community, how we went into the first Iraq war with the respect and real support of the world behind us? Wouldn’t it be nice to have a leader with less swagger and more ability to really build coalitions?

Ever since Palin joined the ticket, we’ve seen the same attacks she used in Alaska.
I will never forget her $150,000 30 day shopping spree. Or her saying that she has foreign policy experience because she can see Russia from Alaska. Rather than admit her lack of experience, she has attacked at every occasion.
When Palin’s supporters couldn’t hear, she criticized them as un-American. Her husband had to explain that they couldn’t hear. This proved that her first instinct is to attack and demean anyone she thinks is against her.
What’s next, is Palin going to use her last weapon, tears, to try to save her political career?

geevill, I don’t know if you are a smart person or not. It’s obvious where your politics lie, but there’s just so much more to this election than Acorn crap. Maybe you earn more than $250,000 a year, maybe you have no problems paying your mortgage, maybe you’ve never had a health crisis with little or no health coverage, maybe, maybe, maybe. But the McCain campaign has been disgusting and McCain’s choice of Palin is an indication, a strong indication of his putting his win on Nov. 4 over the welfare of the country. Palin’s an ambitious, evil, slimy, no-nothing who is slowly but surely doing McCain in and her goal for the country will bring back the McCarthy era. Your response to this will be, no doubt, Acorn, Acorn, etc. etc. but the fact that moderate republicans are deserting his campaign and endorsing Obama signifies the irrelevance of these “issues.” Obama will be better for this country, Period.

For Example……….Katie Courick asking Sarah Palin. “Govenor Palin, It’s been reported that troopergate has been a terrible scandal in your state.” Ya’know there Katie yer soooo right, my husband threatened our heroic state troopers if they mentioned anything about his affairs as Govenor of Arkansas, oh waiter minute that was another Govenor sorry there Katie, next question.”
“Govenor Palin please keep to to topic. It’s also been reported that you used people, and then thru them under the bus in your quest for political power, what say you?” “Oh Katie yer sooooo right and I’ll stay on topic and am here to tell you I am guilty of whatever you say. I did use campaign money from a city Slum Lord to get into the Statehouse and then returned the favor with $13,000,000 in no bid contracts to my dear friend Tony Rezko, but then had to ditch him when the gig was up, and I really want to thank you Katie for not bringing stuff like this up on your news, cuz ya’know it is really just trivial moose dung. Next Question Katie.”
“Katie, Katie where are you.”

We would be a big joke if McCain won. American needs to be restored to prior Bushie Admin. How so much damage could have been done in 8 years is unbelievable. So, Sarah Palin’s advisors decide that it is time for her to meet a bunch of serious world leaders. They head to Europe, where, first up, she has an appointment with the Pope. The Pope and some of his Cardinals invite her for a boat ride on the Tiber. As they are sitting in the gondola talking, a wind starts up and blows the Pope’s hat into the water. Palin looks around and realizes that no one is going to do anything about it, so she calmy rises, takes off her her high heels, and steps off the side of the boat. Instead of diving into the water, however, she walks across it, to the hat, picks it up and walks back across the water to the boat. She climbs in, hands the Pope his hat and continues discussing whatever it was they had been talking about. The Cardinals are open mouthed in astonishment at what they have just seen. The news media, in nearby boats are busy discussing among themselves how to report it. Headlines the next day at the New York Times, The Washington Post and the networks all blare: New Revelation: Sarah Palin Can’t Swim.

Hawaii governor says nation wouldn’t be safe under Obama (says Obama “touts” he is from Hawaii)
Las Vegas Sun ^
Posted on Friday, October 17, 2008 2:25:39 PM by Chet 99
Echoing the theme of recent John McCain campaign ads that claim Barack Obama associates with terrorists, Hawaii Gov. Linda Lingle told a small Henderson audience that in this presidential election “it’s the protection of your families that’s at stake.”
If the choice between the Republican and Democratic nominees is “posed in this fashion,” she said, then voters are “going to say McCain.”
Lingle’s stump speech for McCain attracted only about 60 people to the Henderson Convention Center on Wednesday afternoon — chairs were taken away shortly before she arrived. By contrast, nearly a thousand came to the same venue to hear Mitt Romney speak in August.
Besides mentioning McCain’s history of crossing party lines, Lingle hardly touched on the Arizona senator’s record and instead focused on Obama.
Policy wasn’t mentioned. In fact, she said the two candidates can “talk all they want” about their plans on issues such as health care and energy, but it “really comes down to: Who do you want to be sitting in the White House when it comes down to the security of America?”
McCain’s campaign has come under fire recently for what some have called scare tactics, and McCain was forced to diffuse the fears of his supporters and defend Obama at a recent rally: “He’s a decent family man, citizen that I just happen to have disagreements with on fundamental issues and that’s what this campaign is all about.”
Lingle, though, repeatedly framed the presidential election in terms of the physical safety of Americans and painted Obama as a mysterious figure who is uncomfortable with leadership.
She said voting for Obama would put the safety of the country’s children in the “hands of someone we hardly know.” (She also added that despite Obama’s touting he is from Hawaii, she has never met him and he has “never called me on the phone.”)
Ultimately the country judges the president by how he deals with the unexpected, Lingle said, and Obama “is not a person who will make the tough calls.”

When is disagreeing with someone negative? When is being critical of someones associates being negative? If it were McCain associating with the dregs of society such as Ayers or known unappologetic racist such as Wright would you not be after him?
When did it become the responsibility of a the press to decide who was being negative and who is not?

Yes Palin, I’d like to know how frugal you are. $150,000.00 are almost 4 years of salary for me! That’s the real issue here. And please, put me down on that list for your wardrobe charity deal that the GOP is organizing. Maybe somebody like me can use one of your $3,000 suits (and flip-flops) to welcome the sheriff when he comes to evict us from our house. Tell me how frugal you are. I WANT TO KNOW

Helen, ask obama for some money. He has “raised” over $700,000,000.00. So who shows an excessive of spending and still begging for more.

Conoco, which is a partner in a Darwin LNG project and ALASKA LNG plant, entered the spot trading business this year to bid for LNG cargoes and resell them, Schuppert said.
You Betcha Palin Is A Tough Governor and a great brainy executive:
Alaska could revoke leases for oil fields like Prudhoe Bay if top energy companies refuse to participate in a government natural gas pipeline plan, Gov Sarah Palin told Reuters in an interview.
Exxon Mobil Corp, BP Plc and ConocoPhillips together control more than 35 trillion cubic feet of known gas reserves on the Alaska North Slope.
But the companies declined to participate in a process backed by Palin to jump-start a long-delayed gas pipeline, arguing they needed a long-term tax deal from the state first.
Palin called the refusal “unconstitutional.”
“When the conditions of these leases are not met, especially after decades, it is time to open them up and allow other companies to come in here and compete for the right to tap the resources,” the Republican governor told Reuters this week in an interview.
The companies have said they are interested in developing the reserves, with ConocoPhillips studying a separate plan.
Sarah Palin more than talks about the future, she pushes to get it.
Japan, Buyers Face LNG Shortage After 2012, ConocoPhillips Says
By Dinakar Sethuraman
Oct. 23 (Bloomberg) — Japan, South Korea and Spain, the world’s three biggest buyers of liquefied natural gas, may find it difficult to secure supplies of the fuel between 2012 and 2015, pushing prices higher.
There may be a shortage of the cleaner-burning fuel after 2012 because of a lack of new projects, Gerard Schuppert, manager for global LNG marketing at ConocoPhillips, told reporters at the LNG Supplies for Asian Markets conference in Singapore.
“Only one project was sanctioned this year at Arzew in Algeria,” Andy Flower, a consultant and a former employee at BP Plc’s LNG business, said at the conference yesterday. “It takes about four years now to build a new train.” Three projects were approved in 2006 and 2007.
The decline in new project approvals, and the current financial crisis that’s reduced lending to projects, may slow growth in LNG supplies to between 4 percent and 5 percent annually in 2013 to 2020, Flower said. That’s down from growth of as much as 9 percent in 2007 to 2012. Output may grow 4.5 percent to about 177 million metric tons this year, he said.
Conoco, which is a partner in a Darwin LNG project and Alaska LNG plant, entered the spot trading business this year to bid for LNG cargoes and resell them, Schuppert said.
Only six of the world’s 17 LNG-producing countries showed an increase in exports of the fuel in the first nine months of this year, Flower said.
Send Sarah Palin to Washington, D.C. Obama will never equal Sarah Palin ‘s qualification for an executive position. Obama is all empty talk and empty promises. Sarah Palin is an action person and she gets results.

Joe Biden Knows The Truth
Joe Biden’s exact words:
The same Joe Biden said he would be honored to run on the ticket with John McCain because, quote, “the country would be better off.” And here we have some common ground. I want a president who spent 22 years in uniform defending our country. I want a president who isn’t afraid to use the word “victory” when he talks about the wars we are fighting. I want a president who’s ready on Day One. I want a president with the experience and the judgment and the wisdom to meet the next international crisis – or better yet to avoid it. I want John McCain as our commander-in-chief.

House Democrats Contemplate Abolishing 401(k) Tax Breaks
Powerful House Democrats are eyeing proposals to overhaul the nation’s $3 trillion 401(k) system, including the elimination of most of the $80 billion in annual tax breaks that 401(k) investors receive.
Time to be more patriotic, you rich selfish buggers, and start spreading YOUR wealth.

Powerful House Democrats are eyeing proposals to overhaul the nation’s $3 trillion 401(k) system, including the ELIMINATION of most of the $80 billion in annual tax breaks that 401(k) investors receive.
House Education and Labor Committee Chairman George Miller, D-California, and Rep. Jim McDermott, D-Washington, chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee’s Subcommittee on Income Security and Family Support, are looking at redirecting those tax breaks to a new system of guaranteed retirement accounts to which all workers would be obliged to contribute.
Hmm …. “a system of guaranteed retirement accounts to which all workers would be obliged to contribute.” That sounds very, very familiar, doesn’t it? Don’t we already do this with Social Security?
That means your employer can no longer write off their contributions to your 401(k), and your capital gains would be TAXABLE year-on-year. In other words, it becomes just another investment or savings account, with no tax benefit at all, and no employer contribution. Instead, Uncle Sam would give you your “matching” funds — up to a whopping $600 per year! Whoopee!
Maybe you’ll be lucky, and they’ll have Franklin Raines running the agency issuing those bonds.
The Democrats want to end the private retirement system that has allowed Americans to become a vast investor class and put them back in thrall of the federal government. This is nothing more than a second welfare system that would sit on top of the crumbling Social Security entitlement. It would leave the American working and middle classes with no retirement option other than a government handout.
If the Democrats control both Congress and the White House, kiss your 401(k)s goodbye.

The following ‘speech’ was written recently by an ordinary Maine-iac [a resident of the People's Republic of Maine]. While satirical in nature, all satire must have a basis in fact to be effective. This is an excellent piece by a person who does not write for a living.
The speech George W. Bush might give:
Normally, I start these things out by saying ‘My Fellow Americans.’ Not doing it this time. If the polls are any indication, I don’t know who more than half of you are anymore. I do know something terrible has happened, and that you’re really not fellow Americans any longer.
I’ll cut right to the chase here: I quit. Now before anyone gets all in a lather about me quitting to avoid impeachment, or to avoid prosecution or something, let me assure you: There’s been no breaking of laws or impeachable offenses in this office.
The reason I’m quitting is simple. I’m fed up with you people. I’m fed up because you have no understanding of what’s really going on in the world. Or of what’s going on in this once-great nation of ours. And the majority of you are too damned lazy to do your homework and figure it out.
Let’s start local. You’ve been sold a bill of goods by politicians and the news media.
Meanwhile, all you can do is whine about gas prices, and most of you are too damn stupid to realize that gas prices are high because there’s increased demand in other parts of the world, and because a small handful of noisy idiots are more worried about polar bears and beachfront property than your economic security.
We face real threats in the world. Don’t give me this ‘blood for oil’ thing If I were trading blood for oil I would’ve already seized Iraq ‘s oil fields and let the rest of the country go to hell And don’t give me this ‘Bush Lied…People Died’ crap either. If I were the liar you morons take me for, I could’ve easily had chemical weapons planted in Iraq so they could be ‘discovered.’ Instead, I owned up to the fact that the intelligence was s faulty.
Let me remind you that the rest of the world thought Saddam had the goods, same as me. Let me also remind you that regime change in Iraq was official US policy before I came into office. Some guy named ‘ Clinton ‘ established that policy. Bet you didn’t know that, did you?
Now some of you morons want to be led by a junior senator with no understanding of foreign policy or economics, and this nitwit says we should attack Pakistan , a nuclear ally. And then he wants to go to Iran and make peace with a terrorist who says he’s going to destroy us. While he’s doing that, he wants to give Iraq to al Qaeda, Afghanistan to the Taliban, Israel to the Palestinians, and your money to the IRS so the government can give welfare to illegal aliens, who he will make into citizens, so they can vote to re-elect him. He also thinks it’s okay for Iran to have nuclear weapons, and we should stop our foreign aid to Israel. Did you sleep through high school?
You idiots need to understand that we face a unique enemy. Back during the cold war, there were two major competing political and economic models squaring off. We won that war, but we did so because fundamentally, the Communists wanted to survive, just as we do. We were simply able to out spend and out-tech them.
That’s not the case this time. The soldiers of our new enemy don’t care if they survive. In fact, they want to die. That’d be fine, as long as they weren’t also committed to taking as many of you with them as they can. But they are.. They want to kill you, and the bastards are all over the globe.
You should be grateful that they haven’t gotten any more of us here in the United States since September 11. But you’re not. That’s because you’ve got no idea how hard a small number of intelligence, military, law enforcement, and homeland security people have worked to make sure of that. When this whole mess started, I warned you that this would be a long and difficult fight. I’m disappointed how many of you people think a long and difficult fight amounts to a single season of ‘Survivor.’
Instead, you’ve grown impatient. You’re incapable of seeing things through the long lens of history, the way our enemies do. You think that wars should last a few months, a few years, tops.
Making matters worse, you actively support those who help the enemy Every time you buy the New York Times, every time you send a donation to a cut-and-run Democrat’s political campaign, well, dang it, you might just as well Fed Ex a grenade launcher to a Jihadist. It amounts to the same thing.
In this day and age, it’s easy enough to find the truth. It’s all over the Internet It just isn’t on the pages of the New York Times, USA Today, or on NBC News But even if it were, I doubt you’d be any smarter. Most of you would rather watch American Idol or Dancing with Stars.
I could say more about your expectations that the government will always be there to bail you out, even if you’re too stupid to leave a city that’s below sea level and has a hurricane approaching.
I could say more about your insane belief that government, not your own wallet, is where the money comes from. But I’ve come to the conclusion that were I to do so, it would sail right over your heads.
So I quit. I’m going back to Crawford. I’ve got an energy-efficient house down there (Al Gore could only dream) and the capability to be fully self-sufficient for years. No one ever heard of Crawford before I got elected, and as soon as I’m done here pretty much no one will ever hear of it again. Maybe I’ll be lucky enough to die of old age before the last pillars of America fall.
Oh, and by the way, Cheney’s quitting too. That means Pelosi is your new President. You asked for it. Watch what she does carefully, because I still have a glimmer of hope that there are just enough of you remaining who are smart enough to turn this thing around in 2008.
So that’s it. God bless what’s left of America.
Some of you know what I mean. The rest of you, kiss off.
PS – You might want to start learning Farsi, and buy a Koran.

I have just seen a disturbing report on MSNBC about a young lady who was supposedly attacked and robbed while at an ATM machine in Ohio. The young lady said she fought off her attacker and didn’t get robbed the disturbing thing is she claims because her attacker saw her with a McCain/Palin bumper sticker he kicked and punched her, and get this(carved a backwards B on her face) while mentioning Obama, it was reported that McCain and Palin instantly called the young lady about the incident(WHAT)? my question is how did they know about this so soon after the attacked? Now folks I don’t know about you but this story sounds a little “fishy” to me and a lot to convenient for mccain/palin. It seems to suggest that they would sink to any level to get a vote. This is the first of any kind of report I have read are heard of of a mccain/palin backer being attacked in such a manner just because of a bumper sticker. By the way the young lady has told conflicting stories of her account of the mishap, including a lie detector test. All I am saying is this, if it happened the way it was reported shame on the Obama supporter, but if it did not SHAME ON McCain/Palin and the young lady for such a lie in order that McCain/Palin gain support in the polls this needs to be further investigated.

Former Solicitor General Ted Olson, a Republican backing John McCain, and Harvard Law Professor Laurence H. Tribe, a Democrat and advisor to Barack Obama, disagree with Professor Chin’s narrow interpretation of the naturalization law and its intent. In a paper issued in March they found that John McCain is “natural born” under the Constitution.
“Based on the original meaning of the Constitution, the Framers’ intentions, and subsequent legal and historical precedent, Senator McCain’s birth to parents who were U.S. citizens, serving on a U.S. military base in the Panama Canal Zone in 1936, makes him a ‘natural born citizen’ within the meaning of the Constitution.”
The question is, is Obama? A birth certificate issued in 2007 does not make a US citizen.
The senate, the congress, homeland security or any court has disputed John McCain’s citizenship and there is NO COURT ACTION suggesting that John McCain is NOT a US natural born citizen. The same can NOT to be said about Obama.
There are now eight states entering allegations about the citizenship of Barack Obama. Rule 11 states: sanction attorneys or parties who submit pleadings for an improper purpose or that contain frivolous arguments or arguments that have no evidentiary support
No one has seen any federal sanctions handed down under Rule 11. It means that all lawsuits are in progress and without sanction.

Lawsuits Starting Across the Nation Proceeding to Avert Potential Constitutional Crisis, Possible Civil Unrest, and Confidence in Elections; Lawsuits are being filed in Eight States Seeking to Require Barack Obama to Provide Certification of Birth in U.S. or Be Removed as Presidential Candidate on State Ballots.
Seattle WA. 10/22/2008 Lawsuits in eight states as of this writing Hawaii, Washington, California, Florida, Georgia. Pennsylvania, New York and Connecticut, are seeking judicial authority to force the certifying or decertifying of Senator Barack Obama’s qualification to run as a candidate for President as a natural born U.S. citizen. Previously, two lawsuits have failed to force the certifying documents from Obama.
Philip Berg’s months-long lawsuit in Federal Court in Philadelphia reached a dramatic plateau yesterday as Mr. Obama and the Democratic National Committee (DNC) failed to respond to the court that Mr. Obama is not a natural born U.S. citizen and therefore not qualified to run for office of President of the U.S. They admitted to Obama’s non-qualification by their failure to respond to a 30-day court ordered discovery in which Obama and the DNC were ordered to answer a petition by Berg. Berg is a lifelong Democrat in the Pennsylvania Democratic Party who has sought to ratchet up the legal pressure as Obama and the DNC has continually delayed providing certifying documentation of Obama’s birth, which he claims to have been in Hawaii.
A lawsuit in Honolulu in the First District Court is seeking a court-order to open Obama’s secret birth records. Obama has thus far neglected a Freedom of Information request for the records at two hospitals in Hawaii. Lawsuits in Washington and Georgia are seeking state Superior Courts to force the states’ Secretary of State, as the chief state elections officer, to perform their state constitutional duties to require original certifying birth records from Mr. Obama that would verify his birth in Hawaii.
Article II, Section 1 of the U.S. Constitution reads: “”No Person except a natural born citizen, or a citizen of the United States at the time of the adoption of this constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any person be eligible to that office who shall not have attained to the age of thirty five years, and been fourteen years a resident within the United States.”
There are numerous allegations to Obama’s claim of natural birth in the U.S. on the web and in the media, all raising suspicion and doubt as to Obama’s actual place of birth and qualification to run for president. Some of the assertions to which Obama “admitted” on Berg’s suit are: he was born in Mombassa, Kenya in 1961 while his mother, Stanley Ann Dunham, was married to Barack Obama Sr., a Kenyan; when his mother, divorced from Obama Sr, moved to Indonesia and married Lolo Soetoro, an Indonesian, Obama was adopted by Soetoro and became an Indonesian citizen; while in Indonesia, Obama had his name changed to Barry Soetoro; Obama traveled to Pakistan in 1981 under an Indonesian passport when Pakistan was a no travel zone for Americans; Obama had “admitted” to receiving illegal contributions in his campaign for president. Additionally, there is an allegation that Obama’s Kenyan grandmother claims that Obama was born in Kenya; Muammar Gadhafi, leader of Libya, has publicly claimed that Obama was born in Kenya and studied in Muslim schools in Indonesia. Obama has also “admitted” to hold citizenship in another country (the U.S. Constitution forbids dual citizenship).
Non-partisan and independent reviews and examinations of Obama’s birth certificate as shown on his official website has evidence of tampering and in any case does not list any of the points of information commonly found which would make it traceable and verifiable such as hospital, doctor, size weight, foot prints etc.
Interestingly, all these state lawsuits would be dropped if Mr. Obama would simply provide the requested documents supporting his claim of being born in Hawaii.
Lawsuits in additional states are being added each day. For more information about each lawsuit, contact:

Jams490: “By the way the young lady has told conflicting stories of her account of the mishap, including a lie detector test.”
I don’t think so. If she was just assaulted yesterday, it isn’t likely she would be hooked up to a lie detector test already. Besides, what’s to test? If she was cut with a knife, then she was cut with a knife.
I suppose she could be simply wrong about this attack being at all connected to politics. There could be some faulty assumptions on her part. But I highly doubt she’s lying.

“And here’s the point I want to make. Mark my words. Mark my words. It will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy. The world is looking. We’re about to elect a brilliant 47-year old senator president of the United States of America. Remember I said it standing here if you don’t remember anything else I said. Watch, we’re gonna have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy. And he’s gonna have to make some really tough – I don’t know what the decision’s gonna be, but I promise you it will occur. As a student of history and having served with seven presidents, I guarantee you it’s gonna happen. I can give you at least four or five scenarios from where it might originate. And he’s gonna need help. And the kind of help he’s gonna need is, he’s gonna need you, not financially to help him, we’re gonna need you to use your influence, your influence within the community, to stand with him. Because it’s not gonna be apparent initially, it’s not gonna be apparent that we’re right. Because all these decisions, all these decisions, once they’re made if they work, then they weren’t viewed as a crisis. If they don’t work, it’s viewed as you didn’t make the right decision, a little bit like how we hesitated so long dealing with Bosnia and dealing with Kosovo, and consequently 200,000 people lost their lives that maybe didn’t have to lose lives. It’s how we made a mistake in Iraq. We made a mistake in Somalia. So there’s gonna be some tough decisions. They may emanate from the Middle East. They may emanate from the sub-continent. They may emanate from Russia’s newly-emboldened position because they’re floating in a sea of oil.”

Now, if i was a raving knife wielding maniac wanting to carve a “B” into someones face…i wouldnt be gentle and be careful barely scratching her. The skin isnt even punctured! Its so obvious they did it to smear Obama, in a twisted perverse way. And one of the first sites to report it was a Sarah Palin fan blog called “Sarah’s Army” even the local news got info from them!

Being a Christian doesn’t mean you always do the right thing Blackjack. It means that you realize that you are incapable of doing the right thing all the time and continuously strive to allow Jesus to live through you. Humans are all fallible.

There once was a felon named Liddy
whose Watergate crimes were a pity
A party he gave
the money in waves
to McCain his new found best buddy

Posted by: William J. LePetomaine | October 24, 2008, 10:58 am 10:58 am

The Republican senator’s lawyer in the case, John Dowd, told reporters in a conference call Monday that McCain had been the victim of “a political smear job” by Senate Democrats. When a reporter noted that McCain himself has spoken contritely about his role, Dowd responded, “I’m his lawyer and I have a different view of it.”
Dowd, in his conference call, wouldn’t tolerate a hint of an apology for McCain’s actions. “John was the only senator who threw Charlie Keating out of his office,” he said, reminding reporters of a well-publicized confrontation. Keating had called McCain a wimp for failing to do more to influence financial regulators on his behalf.
McCain is the only Keating Five defendant still in the Senate. The senators were accused of trying to intimidate regulators on behalf of Keating, who along with his associates, raised $1.3 million combined for the campaigns and political causes of the five.
The investigation ended in early 1991 with a rebuke that McCain “exercised poor judgment in intervening with the regulators.” But the ethics committee also determined McCain’s actions “were not improper nor attended with gross negligence.”

Black Jack: so what? How do you explain his relationship with convicted multiple felon G. Gordon Liddy?

Explain this William J. LePetomaine:

Well I checked in on the mcCain add and I think now that I’ve seen it all. How low can these guys go. I’m sure there might be some little old ladies who are shivering in their boots but as far as I’m concerned the film clip is ludicrous.

In 1998 Liddy hosted a fundraiser at his house for John McCain’s re-election campaign at which guests could have their pictures taken with McCain and Liddy. Over the years, Liddy, who has referred to McCain as “an old friend,” has made at least four contributions totaling $5,000 to the senator’s campaigns — including $1,000 in 2008. When David Letterman asked McCain about his relationship with Liddy, McCain said, “Who?” Then, following a commercial break, McCain said “I know Gordon Liddy. He paid his debt. He went to prison and paid his debt, as people do. I’m not in any way embarrassed to know Gordon Liddy
Gordon Liddy was the fall guy and his sentence was commuted by Democrat President Jimmy Carter.
McCain admits to the people he knows. McCain is open and does not hide from the truth like Barack Obama or whatever his name is.

To this day after several weeks i still havent got any of the right wingers here to comment on Gordon Liddy.
Let me just refresh that just recently on Letterman, McCain said this: “I’m not in any way embarrassed to know Gordon Liddy.”
Gordon Liddy is of course an unrepentant terrorist. McCain attended a fundraiser at his house and even this year recieved large donations from Liddy.
So how about a comment from the republicans? Anyone?

For those of you outraged at the RNC spending 150K on Palin’s wardrobe, note that the Democrats spent an additional $5.3 million on the “Barackopolis” Temple at Invesco Field, after spending over $14 million to outfit the Pepsi Center:
—In its FEC filing, the host committee said it incurred $53.67 million in operating expenses and spent $53.86 million.
Most of that money went to pay expenses of the Democratic National Convention Committee, the party organization that staged the DNC. Nine percent of the host committee’s money went to pay its own expenses, which included salaries, marketing and staging various events off the convention grounds.
Convention expenses paid by the committee included $14.1 million for construction costs, including the stage and lighting, at the Pepsi Center and $5.3 million at Invesco Field.—
The extra $5.3 million for the vanity platform at Invesco seems like a strange and very frivolous spending choice. Obama could have given the same uninspiring speech at the Pepsi Center and saved millions of dollars. This isn’t the same as buying a wardrobe for a candidate who lacked one; Democrats had already spent almost $15 million on the Pepsi Center. Obama had a perfectly good stage on which to accept his nomination and demanded another for his own ego.
Will all of the media outlets who rushed to expose the $150,000 wardrobe cost for a middle-class VP candidate report on the millions spent to feed Barack Obama’s grandeur?

The “truth” about Liddy is that he was convicted of multiple felonies and was sentenced to 20 years. The truth was that during the siege of Waco, he encouraged people to fire on the ATF agents, saying “kill the sons of bi*ches.” The truth about Liddy is that he has held fund raisers for McCain. The truth about Liddy is that McCain has been on his radio show. The truth about Liddy is that McCain was quoted as saying he is “proud of” Liddy. The truth about Liddy is that the Chicago Tribune called him “an enemy of democracy.”

We figured terrorists would cringe when confronted by the Texas “cowboy” with the ex-CIA dad, right??? They’d attack tree-hugger Gore, or Kerry, but not George, right… It’s not Iran on inauguration day for Reagan releasing the hostages anymore, folks (and remember, Carter negotiated it…) This is the real world, and we’ve figured out that Presidents are not deterrents.

William J. LePetomaine:
G.Gordon Liddy was not at Waco: It happened during the Clinton Administration and G.Gordon Liddy was no longer any kind of a US government ageny.
Many people believe that David Koresh (or the Branch Davidians) were responsible for the deaths of the 74 men, women and children who died in the inferno at Waco on April 19, 1993. This is the story that the FBI put out. It is a lie. The guns they had were legal. The local sheriff investigated and found no basis for complaints against them. These were law-abiding American citizens, even if they thought differently to most other folks. They trusted the U.S. Constitution to ensure their political rights, but they were murdered by agents acting under the authority of the U.S. government. Read this page if you believe otherwise. If you still have doubts, get the video Rules of Engagement for visual evidence. Or read the book Armageddon in Waco. Or see the film Waco: A New Revelation.
Waco occurred under the presidency of Bill Clinton, with Janet Reno and Wesley Clark in supporting roles. Already back in 1993 the US government demonstrated its contempt for the American people by carrying out a massacre in order to “demonstrate” (on prime time TV) its supposed “authority” (a tactic favored by fascist governments).
As it happened. You better get off that stuff you are drinking.

Do it, Blackjack because the media won’t.
And yes, Bill Ayers is an unrepentent terrorist. Go back and look at what he said on the very date America was attacked on 9/11/2001. If Bill would’ve admitted that he was wrong in making bombs, blowing up government property and writing a communist manifesto called “Prairie Fire”, this wouldn’t be as much of an issue, despite the close ties between him and Barack Obama.
Here’s a question. If Bill Ayers was actually convicted on all charges instead of being released because of a failed prosecution, and had to serve several years in prison, would he be remorseful today AND would Barack Obama be where he is today…?

Posted by: Cliff | October 24, 2008, 11:41 am 11:41 am

Obama wants to raise capital gains taxes on a good chunk of the money currently in the market. Nearly 80 percent of total stock holdings are held by people who would be subjected to HIGHER investment taxes. Not only does that hurt their future after-tax returns, but it also undercuts the future productivity of the economy, thus crimping the future stream of earnings generated by corporate America. So the whole stock market will suffer from a sort of collective tax punishment. Hey, even potential Obama Treasury secretary Jamie Dimon thinks raising taxes right now is a bad idea.
Then there’s the Great Experiment of 2009. In 1980, anxious Americans voted for lower taxes and smaller government as the solution to the nation’s economic ills. Would the opposite prescription also have led to a 25-year economic boom? With Obamanomics, voters may be about to play a fascinating game of “what if.” Except it’s for real. When Goldman Sachs ran a sophisticated economic simulation of the effect of a total REPEAL of the Bush tax cuts, the computer predicted a 3 percentage-point DROP in GDP. How many jobs will that destroy, and how much tax revenue will that eliminate? Maybe investors fear that with perhaps a trillion-dollar budget gap ahead, revenue-hungry Dems will raise taxes further than Team Obama is suggesting—right into the teeth of a weak economy. What if, indeed.

LOL heres what McCain said on Liddys radio show JUST LAST YEAR (may 2007):
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/carl-bernstein/ayers-and-the-mccain-g-go_b_134256.html
“LIDDY: Your experience in the Hanoi Hilton is remarkable. I mean, I put in five years in a prison [for masterminding the Watergate burglary, and associated crimes], but it was here in the United States, and they didn’t torture – the only torture that I had was being forced to listen to rap music from time to time.
McCAIN: Well, you know, I’m proud of you. I’m proud of your family. I’m proud to know your son, Tom, who’s a great and wonderful guy. And it’s always a pleasure for me to come on your program, Gordon. And congratulations on your continued success and adherence to the principles and philosophies that keep our nation great.”
Wow, i just wonder which of Liddy’s “principles and philosophies” McCain thinks make this nation great? Firebombing? Plotting to murder? Rigging elections?
I’ll tell ya, its good stuff. I know Obama is too honorable to run those kind of ads, but i still think the Democrats should. I mean, just to show what kind of hypocrite f*** er John McCain really is.

Ayers did say ”I don’t regret setting bombs” and “I feel we didn’t do enough” regarding the group’s violent protests against the Vietnam War. That was in a New York Times interview all that was published the morning of September 11, 2001. The interview had been conducted earlier, in connection with the publication of a memoir of the year Ayers spent as a fugitive with his wife and fellow Weather Underground member Bernardine Dohrn. Ayers is now a professor of education at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Obama and Ayers served together for a time on the board of an antipoverty charity, the Woods Fund of Chicago, from 1999 to 2002.
G. Gordon Liddy is no where near the anti-American Ayers.

And then to see the McShame campaign imploding on itself as all of the rats start jumping off of the sinking ship. So now that we come into the final days of this campaign, it will be interesting to see how low the republicans can go from here. They’re just about at the bottom, so there can’t be too much left.

Obama was 8 years old when Ayers was active.
That means Obama was the only eight years old when receiving campaign contributions from Ayers. Ayers said I wished I would have bombed more in 2001. That is threatening with thoughts of terrorism.

Posted by: BlackJack | October 24, 2008, 12:11 pm 12:11 pm

“and Obama was 8 years old when Ayers was active.”
I just love this statement from the blind. Was Obama 8 years old when he decided to associate with Ayers?
If you were eight years old when Bill Ayers participated in bombing our buildings, and you had a chance many years later to meet and work with him because you were told he could help you launch your political career, would you do it?
The best answer is, a person with sound judgement would NOT work with Ayers for any reason or under any circumstance. However, if Ayers had paid his dues through incarcaration in a federal penitentary or had actually demonstrated genuine remorse, instead of bragging to this day that he feels he didn’t do enough, then you could make an argument that it’s no big deal.

McCain – 25+ years experience as a Senator with vast record of nonpartisan legislation and clear record of working across party lines and making tough decisions.
Obama – 2+ years experience as a Senator with almost no legislation, only once worked across party lines, and has voted “present” on most serious legislative decisions as an Ill. and U.S. Senator.
McCain – Vast personal military experience at the ground level (he knows what it is really like to commit troops to battle) and long family history of military leaders.
Obama – No military experience at all.
McCain – Has always been fiscally responsible and consistently fought pork-barrel spending. Plans to cut taxes for all taxpayers.
Obama – Plans to increase taxation on small businesses and corporations (which will curtail new hiring, cause more layoffs, and cause major corporations to move overseas where they are taxed much less) and increase additional spending by over $1 trillion. Current proposal to only tax those making over $200,000 ($250k for families) but in primaries his number was $75,000 and he will have to use that number or lower if he has any chance to implement any of his policies.
Nuff said.

Try to be open minded and objective – if you can.
Economy – The Rep. economic platform has always been and will always be to give tax breaks to the wealthy with the promise that it will create a “trickle down” effect (another term for spread the wealth) that will create jobs and help the middle class. How’s that working out for you? Most of those companies aren’t trickling it to you – they’re spending it overseas to increase their profits. Giving billions of dollars to Exxon in tax breaks while they make billions in profits every quarter should really tick you off when you have to fill up your tank.
Spending – Every person that has ever run for president has promised to cut government spending. History shows us that Republicans are the ones that spend, spend, spend. Bush inherited a surplus of nearly a trillion dollars from the Clinton administration. In eight years under the Rep. we are 10 trillion dollars in debt. The most spending in history. So much for the promise of reducing government spending.
Experience – Neither candidate has any experience sitting in the oval office. There’s a big difference between being a US senator and being president. There have been many US presidents that lacked experience in the past – some did well – some not so well. Your decision should be based on which candidate you feel would be the best decision maker, who will lead with intelligence, diplomacy, and fairness under the worst condition.
Socialism – There is no perfect form of government. The USSR (communism) fell, and the US (capitalism) is not far away. A blend of both capitalism and socialism is required for everyone to thrive. For you people shouting communist and socialist – what do you call social security, medicare, and medicade? My father is a great example. He is very far to the right. – but when my mother had to go into an Alzheimer’s home – he didn’t want to spend his money to care for her – he wan’t the government to pay. Like most republicans – he’s only in favor of social programs when it serves his needs.
Media – The majority of the news media are liberals and have always backed the Democrats. The republicans have held office for the last 24 out of 36 years. For those of you blasting the “liberal media” – apparently it has no effect on the outcome.
Abortion – You will never find a candidate that you agree with 100%. Making a decision based on pro-life or pro-choice is both ludicrous and narrow-minded. Get over it! Roe vs. Wade is not going to be overturned no matter how many clinics you picket and bomb. I would never allow a child of mine to be aborted. However, I don’t feel it’s my right to impose my views on others – nor do I dislike someone who happens to have a different opinion than mine. If you don’t believe in pro-choice – don’t shoose to have an abortion.
Racism – It’s a fact that most republicans are Christians. Being Christians, I assume you believe in the Bible, creation, adam & eve, etc. The Bible states that God created man in His image and that adam & eve were the first man and woman. If you believe that – all men are your brothers – including Barack Obama.
We don’t need someone who talks change but still believes in the same basic economic principles that have been in effect for the last 8 years.. WE ACTUALLY NEED A CHANGE!

Blackjack – Do a little research on the Andy Martin, US politician, you reference in your post then see if your conscience allows you to ever post such nonsense again.

Police: McCain volunteer made up robbery story
JOE MANDAK
The Associated Press
PITTSBURGH – A McCain campaign volunteer made up a story of being robbed, pinned to the ground and having the letter “B” scratched on her face in a politically inspired attack, police said Friday.
Ashley Todd, 20-year-old college student from College Station, Texas, admitted Friday that the story was false and was being charged with making a false report to police, said Maurita Bryant, the assistant chief of the police department’s investigations division.
Todd, who is white, told police she was attacked by a 6-foot-4 black man Wednesday night. She can’t explain why she invented the story or explain how the “B” was scratched onto her face, Bryant said.
Todd told investigators she was attempting to use a bank branch ATM when the man approached her from behind, put a knife with a 4- to 5-inch blade to her throat and demanded money. She told police she handed the assailant $60 and walked away.
Todd told investigators that she suspected the man then noticed a John McCain sticker on her car, became angry and punched her in the back of the head, knocking her to the ground and telling her “you are going to be a Barack supporter,” police said.
She said he continued to punch and kick her while threatening “to teach her a lesson for being a McCain supporter,” police said. She said he then sat on her chest, pinned her hands down with his knees and scratched a backward letter “B” into her face with a dull knife.
The woman told police she didn’t seek medical attention, but instead went to a friend’s apartment nearby and called

I am about to vote for President a man who had unprotected sex with a man in a limo while smoking crack ( Larry Sinclair ), and who has an inner circle of gay men. After getting a look at Michelle, I can almost understand, but not completely.
I can’t vote for McCain because he waffles. I don’t know what to do really.

Yes, and McCain has at one time or another ruffled their feathers as well. Many of them were not exactly supportive of John McCain during the primary so what’s your point?

That’s exactly why I love Joe Biden. With a son now serving in Iraq, he at some level understands the heightened “generated” risks we face should his own running mate make it to the White House. Biden also knows his son is at greater risk if such a crisis were to occur.
This really is a cry for help on perhaps a sub-conscious level and every ear should listen up. Joe Biden, a man who very recently during the primary said that Barack Obama was not ready to be CiC, who said he’d be honored to serve in a McCain administration, inadvertantly and emotionally spoke the truth this week out of love for his son and his country, and that’s why I, in turn, love Joe Biden.
And I honestly never thought I’d ever use “I love” and “Joe Biden” in the same sentence. And folks, do not be surprised if John McCain picks Joe Biden to serve in his administration in some capacity should he be fortunate enough to earn your vote and win this election.

Palin – we will overlook your 150,000 clothing expense for you and your family, we will also overlok “Tasergate”,we will also overlook you encourage shooting wolves from low flying planes, we will over look you spent taxpayers money flying your family around, we will overlook your per diem charges, we will also overlook you know nothing about the VP position, nothing about the constitution

Palin is like a cancer in American public life. She isn’t qualified to be a Vice-President. She isn’t qualified to be an effective Governor. She is merely an offensive and dishonest hypocrite. I will be most happy if we NEVER hear from her again regarding any topics. She is barely literate. She has nothing intelligent to say. She is disgusting.

This is the real Scare:
NEW BEDFORD — After the November election, Democrats will push for a second economic stimulus package that includes money for the states’ stalled infrastructure projects, along with help paying for healthcare expenses, food stamps and extended unemployment benefits, U.S. Rep. Barney Frank said Thursday.
In a meeting with the editorial board of The Standard-Times, Rep. Frank, D-Mass., also called for a 25 percent cut in military spending, saying the Pentagon has to start choosing from its many weapons programs, and that upper-income taxpayers are going to see an increase in what they are asked to pay.
The military cuts also mean getting out of Iraq sooner, he said.

Listening to the mainstream media these last few days I’ve learned a few things about the GOP’s VP nominee.
1. From the media I learned Sarah Palin’s husband has a DUI conviction from 22 years ago.
On my own, I learned that Ted Kennedy (hero of last month’s tribute at the DNC) was drunk while driving a car off a bridge in Chappaquiddick in 1969. That same crash killed a young campaign volunteer with whom he was having an affair. Oh, and that young woman was pregnant with his child.
* Mr. Palin’s (who is NOT running for office) DUI came a mere 4 years after Barack Hussein Obama (who IS running for president) SUPPOSEDLY stopped using cocaine and marijuana (by his own admission in his autobiography).
Shocking – It’s OK for the presidential candidate to use drugs, or the Democrat party patriarch to kill someone while driving drunk, yet the husband of a VP candidate should be demonized for something done 22 years ago?????
2. From the media I learned that Sarah Palin’s daughter is pregnant.
* On my own I learned that Obama’s mother was an unmarried street hippy in Honolulu , Hawaii, when she conceived Obama.
* On my own I learned that Joe Biden’s (Democrat VP candidate) son was paid a large amount of money as a consultant to a credit card company, MBNA.
That SAME company had business before Senator Joe Biden concerning regulation of consumer credit practices. After the company paid a hefty sum to Mr. Biden’s son, he voted in favor of legislation to help that company!!! That same son, Hunter, is also engaged in a legal investigation and suit for defrauding a former business partner!
*Shocking! It’s a crime for the republican VP candidate to have a child who’s pregnant even though it’s irrelevant to how she performs her job, but it’s OK if the Democrat Presidential candidate’s unwed mother conceived him out of wedlock, and it’s OK, however, for the Democrat VP candidate to vote in favor of a company who paid his son over a quarter of a million dollars?????
3. From the media I learned that Sarah Palin should be considered “selfish” for agreeing to run for VP knowing about her daughter’s condition. Knowing that at her public role would bring extra scrutiny on the family is selfish and she should have declined, to protect her child (actually heard this on ABC this weekend).
*Strange! The same people who said Sarah is selfish for running for VP did not care about any impact on Chelsea when Bill Clinton had his dalliance with Monica Lewinsky. That was a private, personal matter you see. Oh, that’s right….these things do not apply to the Democrats in power!! Silly me!!
4. From the media I have learned to be “concerned” that Sarah Palin probably won’t be able to manage her family and do an effective job of being VP at the same time.
*Funny – I never heard anything about Hillary’s ability to support Chelsea while re-doing healthcare or any of the other feminist icons who say you can balance work and family. They also never mention that Barack will have to balance time with his children while meeting with heads of rogue nations. They never mention that Joe Biden’s kids, who don’t have a mom, will be fighting for his time while he hosts white house coffee fundraisers and sells nights in the Lincoln bedroom. Then too, they never mention that Nancy Pelosi has five children but has no problem balancing her time.
5. From the media I have learned that Sarah Palin is “too inexperienced” to be a heartbeat-away from the presidency.
* Apparently taking on corruption in your own party and running a state that has at least as many people as Delaware (hint hint: that’s where Joe Biden is from) is not really experience?
* However, time spent as a “community organizer” and less than 180 days in the senate where you’ve authored NO significant legislation is just the type of “change” we’re looking for from the top of the ticket???
* Funny – Inexperience at the top of the ticket is a mantra for “change” and “hope” while strong practical everyday experience as the #2 is cause for concern???
6. From the media I learned that Sarah Palin’s husband once got a ticket for fishing without a license.
* But, I haven’t heard much about the fact that if he were still a practicing attorney, the VP candidate Joe Biden would be disbarred for plagiarism not once but multiple times!!!
It’s OK to break the rules if you’re a Democrat candidate but not OK if you are the spouse of a republican candidate???
7. From the media I learned that Sarah Palin doesn’t know much about Iraq; in fact we wonder if she even knows where it is.
* Sarah’s son volunteered into the US military and is now deployed in Iraq . I guess that doesn’t count!!!
* Sarah has spent more time with troops in Iraq (as commander of the Alaska National Guard she visited Iraq last year) than Obama has even while running for president!!! In fact, when Sarah went to Iraq she spent time with the troops!!! When Obama went there, he skipped a base visit to instead go work out at the Ritz Carlton!!!
8. From the media I learned that Sarah Palin is a “lightweight” and she better be a “quick study” to keep up with this team.
* Funny, nobody is talking about how, after Barack Obama had “visited all 57 US states” or endless other stupid gaffes that expose who he really is!!! By the way, there are 57 states in the Muslim world!!!
9. From the media I have learned that (gasp!), Sarah Palin’s husband was once a registered member of a 3rd party that favored states’ rights (man, this is really bad stuff).
* That same media has been silent to the story that when Barack Obama announced his first senate run, he did so in the home of William Ayers. Ayers is an un-repentant terrorist convicted for bombing the pentagon!! This same Mr. Ayers said on 9/11 that he and his group did not do enough to harm our military and he wished he had done more!!! During the same time as that comment, he was serving on a board with Barack Obama!!!
All notes and information about their serving together is now locked up by the corrupt Chicago machine and reporter access to those records are being blocked by the Obama campaign!!!
If we’ve had any doubts about the bias of the media, it’s pretty clear now where they stand. Pass this on to your friends and relatives who get all their information from the likes of Katie Couric, Wolf Blitzer, Tom Brokaw and the gang!!! This is egregious and corrupt!!! The only way to stop it is to spread information using other outlets and make these guys irrelevant!!!

The MSM should ask Palin if she has asked McCain why he has voted against increased funding for the Americans with Disabilities Act at least 18 times.

Not only is McCain out of touch but….anybody here that advocates voting for McCain a member of the republican party the same party that has screwed up and ruined our great nation is either a paid blogger, delusional or stupid. Why should republicans get rewarded for screwing up America from Iraq to this financial mess? Isn’t that like rewarding CEOs with huge bonuses even when they screw up the company.
Sure let’s reward the people that screwed things up. Who’s stupid enought to do that? A fool, idiot, moron, masochist, lobbyist? I could add more but you get the picture.

As a republican, I resent the sarcastic tone of this journalism. I believe the liberal media is responsible for causing alot of unnecessary division, resentment and animosity between the American people who support McCain or Obama. You guys should be held accountable for inciting such anger with your biased journalism, such as this sarcastic article. I also believe it will not soon be forgotten how the liberal media attempted to sway the outcome of this election with the negative reporting against the Republican candidate. The American people are not as easily deceived or as blindly led as you seem to think…fair reporting has been scarce during this election process. I hope their is CHANGE in the mainstream American media!

You could not be more correct. That is why the majority of the American public will be voting for Obama.
Bye they way, what is McCain’s catch word or phrase for the day?

Poor Johnny McSame, stupid to the very end. Johnny, I know you can’t just come out and say “I’ve lost the election”. But, how about trying to introduce a little more civility into the last few days of the contest. Then, maybe you can return to an iota of the honor and integrity you’ve lost through your hateful campaign rhetoric. Anyway, it’s fun watching you get increasingly angry with every passing moment as the word “defeated” continues to run through your senile mind. Luckily, you’ve got Caribou Barbie to keep you warm, when Sindy isn’t up to the task. Smitten with Caribou Barbie, that’s a good way to put it. Obama/Biden 2008!!!

Voter fraud, associations with a known and unrepentant domestic terrorist, voting record of live birth abortions, US citizenship(?), socialism, huh, I wonder how long it would take for the liberal media to report these things on an hourly basis if it were McCain being the one “attacked.” The truth hurts, don’t it. The only thing left is to call it negative campaigning. Hey, MSM, you are getting caught up in your own spins. and to me, and many other Americans, we are sick of it.
