Smart move… if you want to get the youth vote to actually show up and VOTE, you have to reach them on their level.
That forward thinking is the reason why Barack has out performed John on his ground game and registered more voters in each state by a 2 to1 and in some cases 3 to 1 ratio.

2 to 1? 3 to 1? How many are living? How many really lived outside a book or comic page? How many are LEGALLY here and can vote? Sounds to me that the DNC, OBAMA, ACORN et al, have pulled a page from Mayor Dalleys’, “HOW TO GET ELECTED W/O REALLY DYING” book.
Dork? Geek? Me thinks you mean WEAK!!

“One of the reasons I feel so good for Sarah Palin, just as a human being,” said former Sen. Fred Thompson, “is I have never seen anybody undergo the ridicule, the slanders and the lies, and the blogosphere and what they’re doing, and breaking into her private e-mail, rumors and things about her, and now, most recently, belittling her, taking little snippets of interviews and laughing at her and satirizing her.
Those people ought to be ashamed of themselves, if they’re capable of shame, because they’ve proven that what they were doing does not represent who she was and who she is. Thank goodness, just as she said, that this was an unfiltered event for an hour and a half. She could stand toe-to-toe with Joe Biden, who’s been around for all these many, many years, and basically take him to the woodshed.”

Directing people to the Obama campaign site is kind of weird, along with any topic order in which the Bush bailout — for which Obama, as well as McCain, voted — doesn’t come first.
Unfortunately, this supposedly “Democratic” candidate’s electronic reach far exceeds his grasp of actual democratic practice.

McCain and Palin are going to “Shake up Washington.” Ha! I know of no person, aged 72 that is going to shake up anything, save a laxative or a shaker of salt or pepper. When my father hit 72, he was doing well to shake his booty out on a tennis court (I pray he stays active), but he wasn’t trying to shake up his profession or the people he worked with.
Perhaps they’re predicting an earthquake in the Cascades that will shake up Washington State?

HP Boston -
What slander? What lies? If the McCain campaign had properly vetted Palin, the press wouldn’t have to be doing it for them. I’ve seen any number of stories out of Alaska and have yet to see any of them refuted.

REMEMBER: Barack Hussein Obama’s 20 year relationship with the racist, America hating Jeremiah Wright, Communist terrorist Bill Ayers, and jailed crook Tony Rezko. Either B.O. agrees with these people or he doesn’t have the good judgement to dump them. In either case, he has disqualified himself from the Presidency.

Concerned in Ohio…what are you talking about? This app is an election app. If you read about it, it tells you things like when and where an Obama campaign event will be, Obama’s positions on issues etc. How does this give him a big ego? Would you claim that effectively using the internet to fundraise also makes him egotistical? Please, this is just drivel.

“So let’s see 0bama has his presidential coins, presidential seal, his own temple, his White House portrait done already, his own satellite channel, and his own iphone app now?”
Yes how dare he make it easier for his supporters to keep up on campaign events thru technology.
Word has it McCain will be introducing his telegraph app any day now.

Palin thinks she’s more experienced than Obama?
Obama: 3 years as a community organizer, the President of the Harvard Law Review, 12 years as a Constitutional Law professor, 8 years as a State Senator representing a district with over 750,000 people, chairman of the state Senate’s Health and Human Services committee, 4 years in the United States Senate representing a state of 13 million people while sponsoring 131 bills and serving on the Foreign Affairs, Environment and Public Works and Veteran’s Affairs committees.
Palin: Miss contest, Local weather girl, 4 years on the city council and 6 years as the mayor of a town with less than 6,000 people at the time (she left it with $22 million in debt over a hockey rink that’s still under litigation), 20 months as the governor of a state with 650,000 people.

Hahaha, good one Kurt.
Look, this story is about how Obama more effectively uses new media in his campaign. Is there really anyone out there who is going to dispute that Obama has done a far better job at using blogs, social networking and new technology to get his message out? I work in new media (I manage a blog) and Obama is far and away better than McCain in this realm.

Ummm… who can afford iPhones?
Not the people trying to pay their mortgages while Barney and The Gang that Can’t Talk Straight are bailing out Wall Street with next month’s utility bill.

Alaska: Palin Inquiry Can Continue
THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
Published: October 2, 2008
A judge refused to block a state investigation into whether Gov. Sarah Palin abused her power when she fired her public safety commissioner this summer. The judge, Peter A. Michalski of Anchorage Superior Court, threw out a lawsuit filed by five Republican state legislators who said the investigation had been tainted by partisan politics and was being manipulated to damage Ms. Palin shortly before the Nov. 4 presidential election. “It is legitimately within the scope of the legislature’s investigatory power to inquire into the circumstances surrounding the termination” of a public officer the Legislature had previously confirmed, the judge wrote in his decision. The five lawmakers had argued that the legislative body that ordered the investigation had exceeded its authority.

“Who can afford a corporate mobster in the White House? Vote Nader.”
Looks like right winger belle took my advice that claiming to be a Democrat while advocating for McCain looks foolish.
Way to adapt Belle!

Palin got the name of the general and that’s general’s assessment of the surge in Afghanistan completely wrong.
Right wingers want to concentrate on a silly anecdote from Biden.

“Looks like right winger belle took my advice that claiming to be a Democrat while advocating for McCain looks foolish.”

Oh look concerned has his talking points.
Here’s the whole quote:
Biden: And the primary role of the vice president of the United States of America is to support the president of the United States of America, give that president his or her best judgment when sought, and as vice president, to preside over the Senate, only in a time when in fact there’s a tie vote. The Constitution is explicit.
The only authority the vice president has from the legislative standpoint is the vote, only when there is a tie vote. He has no authority relative to the Congress. The idea he’s part of the Legislative Branch is a bizarre notion invented by Cheney to aggrandize the power of a unitary executive and look where it has gotten us. It has been very dangerous.”
So if you agree with the Cheney definition of the VP, by all means vote McCain Palin.

Posted by: Ryan C | October 3, 2008, 1:36 pm 1:36 pm

Concerned in Ohio…what of my last questions to you? Until you address those, I’m just going to assume you are absurdly partisan. Why don’t you think Biden knows that the VP is the President of the Senate?

Posted by: BackStageLeftist | October 3, 2008, 1:49 pm 1:49 pm

Ah, I see now, you truncated his quote. Makes sense.

Posted by: BackStageLeftist | October 3, 2008, 1:51 pm 1:51 pm

Concerned, the VP IS only a tie breaker. Sure he’s always “the president of the senate” but his only responsibility is to break ties.

A little sweet talk from Nancy SF Values Pelosi and $100 billion in slops and those little porcine House R’s come squealing into the pen. What Bush and McCain could not do, Pelosi and Barney did by spreading a little slop on the Republican caucus pig pen floor. Please leave your conservative principles outside.

Can we get an IPhone for Concerned in Ohio so he can order some wooden arrows and Puerto Rican Rum due to the fine job McCain and Co, did adding $100 billion to the bailout bill. Palin has posted those items on E-bay.

Posted by: ricky | October 3, 2008, 2:02 pm 2:02 pm

Let’s take a look at the Constitution:
The Vice President of the United States shall be President of the Senate, but shall have no vote, unless they be equally divided.
The Senate shall choose their other officers, and also a President pro tempore, in the absence of the Vice President, or when he shall exercise the office of President of the United States.”
Concerned and his right wing media are making things up again.
Must be to cover up Palin completely blowing it last night on Afghanistan.

“Apparently the US and the French went to war with Hezbollah and it never made the papers!”
Apparently the 241 US marines that died in Lebanon aren’t worth remembering to right wingers.

Posted by: Ryan C | October 3, 2008, 2:11 pm 2:11 pm

“Biden clearly states that the Vice President’s only legislative duty is to cast a tie-breaker vote. He further claims the Constitution is explicit on that.”
It is his only legislative duty.
Also per the Constitution, the President Pro Tempore presides over the Senate in the VP’s abscence.
So please tell us how the Vice President is part of the legislative branch as Cheney and Palin have argued.

Posted by: Ryan C | October 3, 2008, 2:14 pm 2:14 pm

“The Constitution says the Vice President is the President of the Senate in all times”
Then what is the point of the President Pro Tempore?
Why to serve as the presiding officer of the Senate because the VP only has 1 legislative duty and that is breaking a tie vote.

Posted by: Ryan C | October 3, 2008, 2:16 pm 2:16 pm

“Not the only time the Vice President has a legislative role.”
So what is his legislative role as President of the Senate beyond casting a vote in a tiebreaker situation?
What does he do as President of the Senate?
Can he call floor votes?
What does he do?
And more than that, let’s get to the true heart of the argument, do you think the role of the VP should be expanded

Posted by: Ryan C | October 3, 2008, 2:28 pm 2:28 pm

LOL, he bangs a gavel!
That’s the reponsibilities of the President of the Senate Biden did not mention.
Oh the horror!
Meanwhile Palin thinks a civil war general is running Afghanistan and that he thinks the surge woudl work there even though he expressly said he did not.

She makes it up as she goes ! But seriously, in school did you ever know a smart ass ? Someone who is derisive and loud? Someone who sidesteps serious discussion and issues by just being so irreverent that it seems to be completely detract the seriousness of a subject and cut off all hope of intellectual seriousness in addressing a subject? How about an appeal to quasi-anti intellectuals? Have you known anybody who is good at switching subjects among 3 or 4 topics and expert in deceiving less than sharp witted people that the behavior is intelligent use of knowledge/tactics ? Sarah Palin has wide appeal amongst “D” students…. Scary !
