Yes We Can…break the Pie Record

ABC News John Berman, Sunlen Miller, and Ursula Fahy report: Barack Obama smashed his record.  No sooner did the Illinois Senator set a new bar for mentions of the word “pie” in a single campaign event, than he shattered his own mark.  This morning, as previously noted on ABCNews.com, he spoke the word “pie” a staggering 13 times in one 86 second period.  It was a number most thought could never be matched;  like Hank Aaron’s 755, Mark Spitz’s 7 gold medals.  But like Aaron and Spitz, Obama learned nothing lasts forever.

A mere 2 hours after reaching the magic 13, Obama did better; 15 mentions of the word “pie” in 104 seconds.  This time it was West Philadelphia.  And unfortunately for his staff and traveling press corps, it was the same story about his visit to a diner in Ohio with Governor Ted Strickland.

Here we go:

“We decided to stop at a diner because I was hungry  and I decided I wanted some pie (1). Pie (2). That’s what I wanted.”

At which point, as usual, someone in the crowd listening offered some pie of their own.

“You make pie(3)?” Obama asked?  “What kind of pie (4) you make? Sweet potato pie (5)? I like sweet potato pie (6). I’m thinking of having a sweet potato pie (7) here in Philadelphia? Because I’ve heard a lot of people are saying they can make sweet potato pie (8).  I’ll put it up against my mother in laws sweet potato pie (9). Alright, you give up? Nah. You. So anyway they did not have sweet potato pie (10) in South OH. So I had coconut cream pie (11). The governor of OH he had lemon meringue pie (12). So we ordered our pie (13)and I decide that I’m going to take a picture with the wait staff.”

It was at this point that he had matched his record.  Had he stopped here, it certainly would have been impressive…yet not historic.  I would like to say the crowd stood silent waiting to see if he would break the record, thrilled to say they witnessed someone reach pie immortality.  But the truth is, they might have been silent out of concern.  How much pie can one person take?  Nevertheless, the record was within reach. And Obama continued:

“Just as we were re finished taking the picture and the owner comes out, with our pie (14). So I take my pie (15).”

That was it, he had done it.  The record.  Some pie purists note that even though he did break the record for “number” of pie mentions, he did not set a new record for “rate.”  This time he spoke it an average of once every 6.93 seconds.  Earlier he managed once
every 6.62 seconds.

reddogg is just upset that the wedge issues (abortion, supreme court, gay marriage) are not working this year. Also since so much money and american lives have been expended on this war, they have lost the claim to be the authorities on national defense too. so screw the cap on your fake display of “freedom” “country first” and “Patriotism” and go under a rock for at least 4 years. See you in 2011 with your gop candidate.

Hmmmmmm!…..
Obama fundraiser, convicted of fraud, spills beans
The Associated Press
By MIKE ROBINSON – 7 hours ago
CHICAGO (AP) — Jailed political fundraiser Antoin “Tony” Rezko, the Chicago real estate developer who helped launch Barack Obama on his political career, is whispering secrets to federal prosecutors about corruption in Illinois and the political fallout could be explosive.
Democratic Gov. Rod Blagojevich, whose administration faces multiple federal investigations over how it handed out jobs and money with advice from Rezko, is considered the most vulnerable.
Rezko also was friendly with Obama — offering him a job when he finished law school, funding his earliest political campaigns and purchasing a lot next to his house. But based on the known facts, charges so far and testimony at Rezko’s trial, there’s no indication there’ll be an October surprise that could hurt the Democratic presidential nominee — even though Rezko says prosecutors are pressing him for dirt about Obama.
“I think this strikes fear into the Blagojevich administration and the Statehouse Democrats but not into the Obama campaign,” says state Sen. Kirk Dillard, R-Westmont, a John McCain delegate to the GOP convention but an old friend of Obama.
Rezko, 53, a real estate developer, was convicted in June of scheming to use his clout with the Blagojevich administration to squeeze $7 million in kickbacks out of a contractor and seven money management firms seeking to do business with the state.
Within two months, Rezko was seen in U.S. Attorney Patrick J. Fitzgerald’s office, along with his attorneys.
There has been no official confirmation that Rezko is talking but his sentencing has been postponed indefinitely and both sides say they are going to “engage in discussions that could affect their sentencing postures.”
“They never would have delayed the sentencing if he weren’t talking — it’s proof positive,” said Jay Stewart, executive director of the Better Government Association of Chicago.
In addition, attorneys say federal investigators have been questioning Blagojevich contributions around the state using information that only Rezko could have supplied. Finally, courthouse personnel requesting anonymity because grand jury probes are secret said Rezko has been repeatedly brought from his cell to the U.S. attorney’s office to talk to prosecutors.
Rezko could have a lot to tell. He has raised millions of dollars in campaign money for many Illinois politicians and according to federal prosecutors used his clout to control appointments to state boards.
Obama has sent to charity $159,000 that Rezko raised for his campaigns for the state legislature, the House and the Senate. Rezko raised nothing for Obama’s White House run.
Obama’s name came up in testimony at the trial four times, twice in connection with an obscure legislative memo, as a guest at a Rezko party and when defense attorney Joseph Duffy told jurors his client was a friend of the senator.
None of the witnesses accused the Democratic nominee for president of doing anything improper.
But questions concerning Obama’s relationship with Rezko linger, particularly over Rezko’s role in the purchase of the Obamas’ home.
The two have known each other for years, starting when Rezko offered Obama a job after he graduated from Harvard Law School in 1991. Obama didn’t take it, but a friendship developed.
The men talked politics frequently and occasionally dined together with their wives.
In 2005, the Obamas paid $1.65 million for their home near the University of Chicago. The sellers wanted a parcel they owned next door to sell on the same day, and Rezko’s wife, Rita, was the buyer. At the request of the Obamas, Mrs. Rezko later sold them a 10-foot strip of land to enlarge their lot. They paid $104,500.
The deal took place while Rezko was under investigation and when details of the cozy relationship surfaced, Obama said it was a “bonehead” error to have asked for the additional land because it looked like he was getting a favor.
“I regret it,” Obama said at the time. “I’m going to make sure that from this point on I don’t even come close to the line.”
McCain and vice running mate Sarah Palin have mentioned Rezko little if at all. But Republicans have aired a television ad focusing on Rezko. And McCain aides have repeatedly tweaked their opponent over the real estate deal in e-mails to reporters.
“We’re delighted to have a debate on judgment with Barack Obama, who bought his million-dollar mansion in a shady deal with a convicted felon,” McCain spokesman Brian Rogers said in August.
Blagojevich, meanwhile, got a black eye from the trial.
One witness testified that Blagojevich talked about hiring him for a major state job while his $25,000 donation to the governor’s campaign fund was lying on the table.
Two attorneys testified that Blagojevich hinted that they could get lucrative state contracts if they raised money — possibly for a future White House campaign.
Obama’s name has not surfaced in accounts of the investigation since the trial. But Rezko himself raised it in a letter to the judge months ago.
“Your Honor, the prosecutors have been overzealous in pursuing a crime that never happened,” he wrote. “They are pressuring me to tell them the wrong things that I supposedly know about Gov. Blagojevich and Sen. Barack Obama.”

Not only that, but back in 2000, he was opposed to Bushs tax plan, one that is identical to his own this election. And his tax plan back then mirrors Obamas:
John McCains stand on Taxes – Feb. 2, 2000
JIM LEHRER: There was a suggestion today from some of Governor Bush’s supporters that maybe you’re not really a true blue Republican, that some of the things you support like campaign finance reform and your opposition to tax cuts are more like Gore and Bradley and Clinton and Democrats than Republican.
SEN. JOHN McCAIN: Well, I’m much more like Ronald Reagan, actually, than the present hierarchy of our party. I’m for tax cuts, but I’m for working Americans. Governor Bush wants to give 38 percent of his tax cuts to the wealthiest 1 percent. I want to give it to working families.

Claim: Tony Rezco received “Political Favors” from Obama, including “$14 million from taxpayers”, and helped Obama purchase a home.
Fact: False/Misleading
Reality:
The $14 million quoted refers to a low-income housing project that Obama urged the city housing commissioner to support. The 97-unit Cottage View Terrace, which opened in 2002, was funded with taxpayer money, and Tony Rezko was involved in developing the project. The $14 million did not go into Rezkos pocket, it was the total for the entire project, and both men have stated that Obamas support was never solicited by Rezko.
http://www.newsweek.com/id/154782
In 2005, Obama and his wife bid on a house on the south side of Chicago. The owner was trying to sell a vacant lot adjacent to the property Obama was buying, and wanted the sales of the two
to close on the same day. Obama mentioned buying the house to Rezko, and Rezkos wife wound up buying the vacant lot, allowing both to be sold on the same day.

In addition, Rezko was later convicted for fraud, however that occured well after Obama had purchased his home, and was in no way connected to it. After Obama learned about the conviction, he donated campaign contributions from Rezko and his associates to charity.

Bottom line is the findings:

Did you people know that at one time one of Trooper Wooten four wives were taken to a hosital after a domestic argument/confrfontation. The police were called to the hospital but failed to make a proper report. They were protecting their drinking buddy, the trooper. If you find a trooper drunk behind the wheel on a highway in Alaska, you call another state trooper. The code of silence is a real thing—I am a former Alaska resident and still have many friends and contacts there. The politics there were nasty in the 70s, 80s and 90s and still are. Relatives say Alaska has been taken over by a non-traditional American agenda, especially in Anchorage.

“I want to acknowledge that Senator McCain tried to tone down the rhetoric in his town hall meeting yesterday,” Mr. Obama said, speaking at an early-morning rally in North Philadelphia. “I appreciated his reminder that we can disagree while still being respectful of each other. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again – Senator McCain has served this country with honor, and he deserves our thanks for that.”

So since this is how the place is then its ok for her to abuse her power? Sorry one Cheney is enough. She is power hungry and dangerous. PALIN IS A LIAR – AGAIN!!
“Monegan has said he was fired in July after refusing pressure to sack Wooten, who had gone through an acrimonious divorce and custody battle with Palin’s sister.
Palin and her husband, Todd, have consistently denied any wrongdoing, describing Wooten as a “rogue trooper” who had threatened their family — allegations Branchflower discounted.
“I conclude that such claims of fear were not bona fide and were offered to provide cover for the Palins’ real motivation: to get Trooper Wooten fired for personal family reasons,” Branchflower wrote.

The Obamagate and what we have found out about Obama. We are the undecideds-the Clinton rollovers. These are the things that Obama should have known about his associates : he should have known that Rev Wright was a Racist, that Rezko was a shady man who raised funds for him. And Ayers, whose
Background about terrorism against America was well known to Obama when they ran around. He has refuted all these associations including Hillary, Bush, and McCain. What America does not know is that Obama will raise taxes on the Middle class once he gets into office. The other thing we found out is that Obama had a sexual relationship with Larry Sinclair in 1999 and did cocaine with him. Obama is for gay marriage and would not put it past him to think that a gay presidency is in his future administration. He does not want to refute the relationship with Larry, because all the gay surrogates working for his campaign Would leave, and that would signal that he is not going to work for their agenda.
We were told that the reason he did not want to work within the campaign
financing and wanted to raise funds on his own. We have knowledge that he is
The richest candidate in the world’s history, and that some of the monies is
by terrorism groups. He knows that there is no way that this could be verified until the election is over. Just as, we cannot verify the voter fraud that is going on by Acorn on his behalf. If Obama wins, we can predict that there will be a race war.

Item three. You McCain fans need to read the articles you post. Even though the headline sounds juicy, if you actually read the story, you might find out that it’s the Governor that’s in hot water with Rezco, not Obama. In fact the story pretty much clears Obama, no smoking gun or anything.

Hillary Supporter for McCain
Davis
We are to believe that the firing of one man in Alaska overshadows Obama’s ties to Ayers, Wright, Rezko, and Acorn. We have BO trying to steal this election through ACORN along with the help of the MSM, the DP, and lots of funds from foreign donors.
Between 5 to 8 million Clinton Democrats will be voting for McCain. Why? BO cheated in the caucuses and bought off super delegates to cross the delegate finish line. The JustSayNo Deal, Pumas, and Clinton Democrat groups are not reflected in the polling data.

Posted by: yoga82 | October 11, 2008, 5:17 pm 5:17 pm

Adam, this article shows the stark contrast of an Obama rally to that of a McCain or Palin rally. Obama represents Americans and American values. His life history is testament to the value that with hard work and determination, you can indeed make it in america, despite the intollerance and hardships placed upon them. American pie, baseball and mom’s home cooking. And while Obama has a clear and well thought out platform for turning the country back in the right direction, McCain and Palin continue to beat their anti-Obama rhetoric and refuse to offer anything more than what would be 4 more years of bush, or worse. Is it no wonder that McCain supporters are unable to defend their own candidates positions, and can only emulate their own candidates attack and smear stance.

Posted by: Concerned American | October 11, 2008, 5:20 pm 5:20 pm

– We are to believe that the firing of one man in Alaska overshadows Obama’s ties to Ayers, Wright, Rezko, and Acorn. –
Yes. Palin was found to have directly violated state ethic laws.
Ayers, Wright, Rezko are simply guilt by association tactics and have no bearing on how Obama feels or thinks (except perhaps in the minds of die-hard anti-Obama fanatics).
ACORN is in no way associated with Obama. When he defended ACORN in 1995, he was on the same side as the US Justice Department and the League of Women Voters. His involvement with them was to help Americans, and his recent contributions were for ‘get out the vote’ efforts. Tenuous connections pale in comparison to McCains direct involvement in covert and subversive activities in the past, which most McCain supporters tend to overlook.

Obama fundraiser, convicted of fraud, spills beans
The Associated Press
By MIKE ROBINSON – 9 hours ago

You need to do better investigative reporting. BO directed taxpayer funds to Rezko to rehabilitate public housing projects that failed. The tenants are still living in squalor and the taxpayers are picking up the bill to finish these projects.
BO has also used the Illinois Pension Fund as an ATM machine for his bundler associates from Rezko, Johnson (Ariel Capital), and others. In the case of Johnson, the pension fund revoked their contract because they were doing a poor job of managing the portfolio.

Concerned American,
You need to do your homework!
BO donated $800,000 to a group connected to Acorn to run his GOTV drive. In addition, when BO sat on a board with a $50 million dollar fund raised by Ayers, Obama directed those funds to many groups including Acorn.
Do you recall at the last debate where Obama said education would be one of his three priorities? Ayers and Obama are two peas in a pod. They want to radicalize the education system. Ayers is the equivalent of a 60s Timothy McVeigh.
Getting back to Acorn, they have been part of his GOTV drive for at least 3 campaigns including this one.
Rezko – Obama has numerous ties to Rezko. BO worked for a law firm called Davis, Miner, Barnhill & Galland. Davis was also a business partner with Rezko in a Joint Venture called Kenwood LLC. Obama wrote a letter to the Chicago Commissioners to secure a $14 million dollar loan for Rezko and Davis to privatize 15 public housing buildings in Chicago. These projects failed.

Well said! The anger is also directed at the MSM that has failed to investigate Obama. They are functioning as a propaganda machine for BO. Don’t worry, the polls are wrong.
I am attaching an excerpt from Ani:
Well, perhaps because organizations like Gallup don’t admit that 80% of the people they call are hanging up on them this year. A Gallup pollster being interviewed on Michael Medved’s radio show the other day said that usually, the number of hang-ups hovers around 40%-50%, so there are a lot of people not willing to talk about their voting preferences. This begs the question – who is left? Who are the Gallup people, for example, actually talking to and are their polls representative of the actual electorate.
The Obama campaign has been playing the race card since January. The media happily played along and now the DNC is openly using it as a campaign strategy. I, and millions like me, who are not guilty of race bias are furious – in fact, apoplectic – at being accused of a horrible sin we are not in the least guilty of. Is it any wonder someone would not want to share their voting preferences with a pollster when to say you do not support Obama is, according to the media, tantamount to saying you are a racist.

SO HERE WE ARE TALKING ABOUT OBAMA’S “PIE IN THE SKY’

Posted by: TJ, THE CLINTONITE | October 11, 2008, 6:29 pm 6:29 pm

– ITS ALL ABOUT THE OBAMA “PIE” IN THE SKY –
Simply a comparison to how McCain and Palin are conducting their rallies.. exactly the opposite as Obama.
– WHERE IS THE ACORN SCANDAL? –
All over the news, but has no relationship to Obama, so is not presented in that fashion.
– REZKO IS BACK IN THE NEWS SPILLING HIS GUTS ABOUT CHICAGO POLITICS –
Indeed, and yet again, even GOP supporters are saying that there is no smoking gun and Obama is in no way being implicated in any of it..
–WHAT HAS OBAMA DONE AS A MAN TO DESERVE THE PRESIDENTIAL SEAL YOU ALL HAVE VIRTUALLY HANDED TO HIM. –
He has worked his whole life trying to make America better.. civil rights, housing, health care, environmental concerns, veterans, closing the enron loophole, ethics reform, energy independence and increased American participation in government to name a few.
His tax plan, his health plan, his foreign policy stance, his energy plan and his intelligence would be far better than what McCain has to offer, and his constitutional law expertise would be a huge plus, compared to the two in office now who I seriously believe have never read the Constitution.
Care to explain why anyone would vote for McCain? Nobody seems to be able to yet, and can simply point fingers and attack Obama rather than address issues.

The Boston Herald
It is what it is: Obama allied with scoundrels
Saturday, October 11, 2008
In the best tradition of Bill Clinton’s declaration that the answer to the question of whether he was having an affair depended on “what the definition of is is,” Sen. Barack Obama was clearly concealing the truth when he said that William Ayers was “just a guy who lives in my neighborhood.”
The Ayers-Obama connection was, in fact, an intimate collaboration that it led to the only executive or administrative experience in Obama’s life.
After Walter Annenberg’s foundation offered several hundred million dollars to American public schools in the mid-’90s, Ayers applied for $50 million for Chicago. His purpose was to “raise political consciousness” in schools.
After he won the grant, Ayers’ group chose Obama to distribute the $50 million, and the future senator raised another $60 million from other civic groups to augment it. In doing so, he was following Ayers’ admonition to grant the funds to “external” organizations, like American Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN), to pair with schools and conduct programs to radicalize and politicize the students.
Reading, math and science achievement tests counted for little in the grants, but the school’s success in preaching a radical agenda determined how much money it got.
Obama should have run screaming at the sight of Ayers and his wife, Bernardine Dohrn. Ayers has admitted bombing the U.S. Capitol and the Pentagon, and his wife was imprisoned for failing to cooperate in solving the robbery of a Brink’s car in which two police were killed. Far from remorse, Ayers told The New York Times [NYT], in September 2001, that he wished he “could have done more.” Ayers only avoided conviction when the evidence against him turned out to be contained in illegal wiretaps. He was, in fact, guilty as sin.
So let’s sum up Obama’s Chicago connections. His chief financial supporter was Tony Rezko, now on his way to prison. His spiritual adviser was the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, of “God damn America” fame. And the guy who got him his only administrative job is former terrorist Ayers.
Not a good recommendation for a president.

Concerned American
If you want to understand how Obama would govern look at Illinois and the mess that he has left.
Obama has used the poor of Chicago to further his political career. Obama directed government funds into private projects for wealthy backers. He also defrauded the Illinois pension fund for these programs.
This is how the program operated. Obama and other politicians changed the way contracts were approved through the city board. The rule was changed to just secure 6 Board votes.
Rezko would approach firms stating that he could secure contracts, handle finder’s fees, and funnel straw political donations.
Only 30% of the public housing units are completed. Guess who picks up the tab? The Federal Government is responsible for completing these projects due to finish in 2015.
Obama’s Tax Plan – He would only tax citizens earning $250,000 and above. What he doesn’t tell you is that 30% of American taxpayers do not pay any type of income tax. They might pay a SS Tax or a state tax, but not income taxes. It is basically a tax credit welfare plan.
Obama is lying when he says small business owners would not be affected. They will. Who do you think creates the jobs or pays for health care for their employees?
Gun control – Another present vote by BO. When this vote came up, he was in Hawaii.
How can he pay for these programs including his health care plan with the $700 billion dollar bailout/rescue plan? Where is the money coming from?

Obama would be a great film star…
(Btw, he is the one running for President – not Satah Palin!)
1. Yes, Sarah Palin is being drug around in the dirt because she is a Republican woman and how dare the person call Sarah a Caribou Barbie! That is one of the most sexist comments, yet. Also, for the one who called her “trailer trash” that just shows to me that it is not the Republicans who are elitists but the Democrats. This should be very offensive to those whose homes are trailers and who don’t make a six figure income.
2.It keeps coming up about the Bridge to Nowhere. Obama has ALSO been in favor of MANY things and then changed his mind….Israel/Pakistan…Russian/Georgia, etc. but NO-ONE dwells on that. In fact, he can’t make a decision; he just goes with the flow after asking dozens of advisors. He is charmismatic, I will give him that but charisma isn’t what we need. Some of you mentioned that McCain’s heroism doesn’t qualify him for the White House…well, okay then…neither does being a charismatic celebrity. Obama would be a great film star. He loves the spotlight. He’s an eloquent speaker. I’ve heard that John McCain is not. Hmmm…someone who’s become good at smoothly eloquent speaking probably has learned to make words work for him and twist them when necessary and people won’t even notice.
3. I’ve noticed that some are comparing Palin’s lack of experience and background to Obama. How come they are not doing the same comparison on McCain and Obama? Why is Joe Biden not the one that is being compared to her? At least, I have not seen much to that;maybe someone can fill me in on somewhere I could see this.
4. It seems Palin has so many sins in her life and McCain, too. Then,I guess the Democrats are without sin. They are presenting themselves as perfect. Too bad the voters are not nearly as perfect as Obama. In the Bible, there was a story about an adulteress that was getting ready to be stoned to death. Jesus told them “Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.” The Dems have done a great job of casting the stones and hitting Palin.
And, let’s not forget the Democrat who was President, and even though I’m not a Democrat, he did a decent job of the duties in office, yet he was an adulterer while in the office that he was elected to, disappointing Americans, but in this whole election,no one, not even the Republicans (except this one) has brought that up;(which is right thing NOT to do)maybe, it is because we all have skeletons in our closet. Have you ever thought what would come out if you ran for office?
5. The newstands are full of articles tearing Palin down, but I’ve yet to see the faces of Obama (the liberal media’s little darling) or Joe Biden on the covers presented in a negative way. I agree with one blogger who said that these publications are only ruining themselves. Let’s do real journalistic reporting…report the facts, Jack on both sides, both negative and positive and let the readers decide. I would absolutely LOVE to see an article in a mag that compares Obama to McCain and in the same mag Palin to Biden, side by side on issues, skeletons in the closets, biographies, awards and honors….maybe in the form of resumes so the American public could compare and then at the polls hire the ticket they think would be the best for the job.
6. Finally, and then, I’m through. I understand it may be good to understand the candidates’ views based on their faith but it is a little undeserving to undermine one for “praying” that God’s will be done. Our country was founded on a faith in the One True God, The Creator and our laws and values were built upon the Christian faith, but now, it’s not politically correct to be a Christian,no one must renounce their deep beliefs in order to please everyone. I couldn’t see one bit of hatred in the video that has been circulating where she spoke at her church in Alaska. Praying for someone does not cause hatred or racism or sexism. Their beliefs in their faith did not say they hated gays, only that they would be praying for them. And, in the privacy of a church building, they may do whatever (within the law) that they believe. Now that Obama has disowned his pastor, no one has mentioned anymore about how that church shaped his views. They are afraid to because of the venomous rhetoric that came from the pastor’s mouth. Does anyone know what Biden believes;have they gone to a church he attends or does he attend one? What about McCain? What are his religious values? So, then, why does that play into the equation with Palin? I could understand if she were part of an anti-government,hate religion. The most she could be convicted of in her faith is saying that she believes in praying to God, asking His will for the country. Go back in history to other presidents; many were men who prayed or sought God’s will. At least, the great ones did.
Thank you, both Republicans and Democrats for letting me air my feelings. How, sometimes I wish we didn’t have parties. I can’t stand the division and hatred that ensues. Especially when we say “United we stand, Divided we fall.” Let’s just let each other vote our consciences or faith or whatever standard and quit yelling at each other. I really hope that people in other countries don’t read our comments because it will show the United States are not so united after all. And…I will be praying for this election, that God will put in the candidates He wants (and, although I will vote Republican which is voting based on my faith) I know that whichever party gets in will be because God put them there “for such a time as this” and I will relax and support the Preident of the United States and respect the office.

Why aren’t you reporting the fraudulent action of ACORN? This is a group of people that are trying to steal the election for OBAMA. Why isn’t any one reporting that the Obama’s campaign donated $800,000 to ACORN? He was their LAWYER in 1994 and he wanted us to believe he didn’t who they were. This country is really going down hill fast. It seems that the media is so preoccupied with getting Obama elected that they are willing to conceal the truth. If Obama gets elected with control of a democratic congress we are going to be repentant. In my opinion many in the media should be arrested for treason to this country. The Obama campaign is crying racism, this is the way they avoid the truth, when is AMERICA going to wake up. Obama is a fraud!!!.

Oh, how sweet. Obama likes pie. Well, we must vote for him, then.
Who cares that his campaign took in millions in illegal contributions under the guise of ‘small donors,’ his excuse for opting out of public financing? Who cares that ACORN, the community activist group with whom he has long been associated, is under fire in several states and people are taking a fresh look at Obama’s connections to them? (Since Obama paid ACORN over 800,000 to run voter registration drives during primary season, I would say that we need to take a closer look at #1, his fiscal sense and #2, the raves he got for registering record numbers of new Democratic voters,)
Who cares that John McCain is making pragmatic economic proposals to get us out of our current mess– including stabilizing home prices by refinancing loans for homeowners in trouble at fixed rates adjusting the principal to existing home values and, in an excellent new idea, suspending the rules requiring seniors to cash out a percentage of their IRAs every year until the markets recover. John McCain is not afraid to propose specific solutions to our problems? Who Cares? Obama likes pie!

Obama = Jimmy Carter
His tax plan will sink the economy. You cannot boost income taxes, payroll taxes and corporate taxes, along with Capital gains taxes without consequences. The economy needs to get back on its feet after liberal policies have forced the US government to spend $1 trillion in supports.
His health care will bankrupt the country. First, the reason insurance companies do not cover pre-existing conditions is because people will only get insurance when they get sick. Insurance companies will not voluntarily cover pre-existing conditions without government support. But after spending said $1 trillion, the government will not be able to pay for the health insurance of 40 million americans including 12 million illegals.
His foreign policy will make US weak and look like fools. If he pull out of Iraq, as he claims he will, Iraq will become teh next Afghanistan. Just as the Taliban filled the vacuum when we left Afghanistan after teh Russians pulled out, Iram or some other bad group with fill in teh vacuum in Iraq. Our enemies will be dancing in the streets just as they did when they took our embassy employees hostage in Iran. We will look week and it will harm the morale of the country.
Jimmy Carter was supposedly a smart guy too. Yet he was by far the worst president the US has ever had. Obama will match Carter for incompetence.

He didn’t.. he paid them for a ‘get out the vote’ promotion during the preliminaries, and hasn’t had any dealings with them since. Plus, it was ACORN who first identified the problems and reported them, identified the individuals responsible and terminated their employment.

WASHINGTON — Having tried without success to unlock frozen credit markets, the Treasury Department is considering taking ownership stakes in many United States banks to try to restore confidence in the financial system, according to government officials.

Rupubicans, you voted in the current moron. Please, please stop whining. Stop slinging mud and telling lies. What is it about McCain that is appealing? Although he is an honored hero, he still crashed 3 planes before he ever flew a combat mission. Of course he crashed over Hanoi. How could he not? None the less, he served his country with all he could muster. Unfortunately, his herosim cannot in and of itself make him a good leader. He has been a Washington insider for nearly 30 years and has led nothing. He has never been a leader. You morons dismissed several strong candidates that could have beat Obama so shut up and take your medicine. Thompson or Huckabee, just to name a couple would have stomped Obama. Somewhere along the line you people decided that communication skiils were not important. Whatever.
Now, bend over and take it.

Mike, McCain won in cross over states when dems did their own version of “operation chaos.” He was NOT OUR CHOICE. However, this does not mean that he would not be STELLAR compared to a lying fraud of a shadow-man, Obama…DANGEROUS doesn’t even begin to describe it.

You know, whenever I hear one of the left wing loons say “McSame” or “McBush”, I immediately write off the person saying those words as an absolute moron.
And these are the same idiots who cry foul when someone uses Barack’s middle name.
I think you will find that if Obama gets elected, a great many people are going to be extremely disappointed when they discover that he has NO CLUE on how run a government.

Thanks.. that just shows that they are not. Only mention about Obama- $800K given for a ‘get out the vote’ campaign, and neglecting to mention the fact that was back in the primaries for an election that has already taken place, and no association with them since. Other mention, Obama represented them against the State of Illinois in a voter discrimination charge. Backed by the US Justice Department and the League of Women voters, they and Obama won the case. Complete failure to mention that it was ACORN themselves that found the registration problems and reported them to officials, identified the employees responsible and have since terminated them.

He’s got some damn nerve! Farrakhan on a video on You Tube can be seen and heard using his name Hussein “Barack Hussein Obama an agent FOR US!!!.” For us the he says, the Nation of Islam!!! Is anyone getting this? They live together in the same Kenwood neighborhood. Farrakhan is banned from entering the UK — the UK! The most multi-culture western country on earth and they won’t have him there for fear of inciting hate and racism. He hates the Jewish people, and along with the group(NBPP) The New Black Panthers Party talk openly about exterminating the whites and especially the Jewish people! But yet if a white person uses his name Hussein we are called inciting and inferring associations to Muslims. This must be the only man on this planet that seems to have numerous associations but no firm relationships. Sat in a church for 20 years and didn’t hear one hatred filled diatribe abouth America from Rev Wright. Another association that is okay. We will be inviting a whole load of trouble when he gets in. We have every frigging right to be worried, who the hell are these people to tell us not to be worried? He is a liar and a phony. He cheated the poor, black people in Chicago out of all he promised. He used the position of community organizer to meet his contacts, his sleazy Chicago associations that seem to not be investigated by anyone. If that were you and I we wouldn’t be able to even get a job with his dubious, past associations. We are are being duped folks and we have the media to thank for it. Not one so called journalists has researched into his college days — we know nothing about this man who is going to steal the election. But what’s ironic out of all this is that his father is from Kenya and his mother was white. He knows nothing about the slavery or the way the African-Americans were treated in this country. The pain and suffering they have endured! His father received a prestigious education as did he, yet he is flying under the auspices of being African American, it’s an absolute joke all of it!

Zero-bama is brilliant, indeed.
He has leveled the poor and rich by 50% in just one year, by tanking the stock market nearly 50%. Equality is half way under Zero-bama, before he is even elected.
0bama is directly responsible for the stock market crash because the leadership in the Congress, in supporting this Affirmative Action candidate’s approach of giving voters cash, ignored the correct solution proposed by Hillary Clinton and McCain to target the financial sectors.
Had the leadership of the Congress and Mr. Zero-bama put the country first, and made the correct judgment to use the $300 billion to rescue the financial sectors ONE full year ago, perhaps, JUST PERHAPS, the stock market would have not tanked 50%.
What we know for sure is that Zero-bama has made yet another bad judgment, a completely boneheaded mistake, to give money to individuals, which did nothing to “stimulate” the economy except continued down-slide, and this approach has failed evidenced by tanking the stockmarket by 50%.
Karl Marx would have been proud of His Nothingness for leveling the field of rich and poor by 50%, with the exchange of your retirement accounts 50% less.
Perhaps, after Zero-bama took over the country, it will be a perfect world of “From each according to his ability, to each according to his need”, such that you do not need your retirement accounts.

I must say I find this all hard to believe…That democrats are so so very desperate to get a dem in the white house that they will overlook all the underlying questions that Obama just sweeps under the rug…Let me give you all facts…Obama is friends with bill Ayers who is a known domestic terrorist..Was involved with Tony Rezco a convicted Felon which also helped Obama do some shady dealing to get his big fancy house in Hyde Park who just happens to be in the same neighborhood as Ayers Rezco Wright who was Obamas Pastor for 20 years who preached words of hate and louis Farrakhan who and I quote called Obama the Messiah…Have ya ever noticed that the only time Obama denounces any one is when it could hurt his political career??? Are you democrats that desperate to have control ? I am neither a Rep. Or Dem. I vote the best choice. And clearly McCain in this case is the best choice. You see if Obama can show such poor judgement in choosing his friends such as Ayers, Wright, Rezco who would he choose to be friends with if he were President??? Obama says he thought Ayers was rehabilated (sp) is he gonna think Bin Laden and the Taliban are too?? And I am sick of the democrats calling The Race Card anytime someone questions Obama there is nothing racial about asking questions and wanting REAL ANSWERS>not half truths as Obama is famous for telling. And the latest shady thing in his background is ACORN …Voter fraud…at first Obama camp said he had nothing to do with Acorn then as Media learned He was once a lawyer for Acorn Trained for Acorn and his Campaign gave them 800,000… all he does is lie it is sick and you all believe it…ask a chicago person when he was running for office there he promised lower taxes THEY GOT HIGHER TAXES .Think about it all then make your choice .I just hope you all wake up befor it is too late. I will take McCains record anyday at least when the Keating thing happened he was TRUTHFUL and by the way was cleared of any wrong doing by a Democrat.Obama is not truthful and to me that says alot….

When I read the title, I was hoping that it had something to do with Obama finally shutting his ‘pie hole’.
Ever notice how he (and his supporters here on other forums) shout and yell so dang much?
I guess if you’re louder, that just automatically makes you smarter and simply right about issues.

Oh MY!!! An article critical of Obama!
Don’t be so hard on him!
The only thing worse than biased reporting is veiled biased reporting.
How would it have been reported if McCain had spoken these words.
“Do you believe it! Not once did McCain mention apple pie! How un-American of him. He is so out of touch with the middle class. Talking about pie! Do you believe it! `He’s avoiding the issues! He thinks sweet potato pie will sweet talk the voters into loving him. Well it won’t work John McCain, we know how negative you really are.”
But it was Obama – the press’ sweetie pie.

Lou-NH asked “Is there any good reason to put a republician in office after the last 8 years?”
Who’s fault is the sub prime mortgage disaster?
9 years ago—this one is priceless and worth the read- right out of New York Times
September 30, 1999
Fannie Mae
Eases Credit To Aid Mortgage Lending
By STEVEN
A. HOLMES
In a move that could help increase home ownership rates among minorities and low-income consumers, the Fannie Mae Corporation is easing the credit requirements on loans that it will purchase from banks and other lenders.
The action, which will begin as a pilot program involving 24 banks in 15 markets — including the New York metropolitan region — will encourage t hose banks to extend home mortgages to individuals whose credit is generally not good enough to qualify for conventional loans. Fannie Mae officials say they
hope to make it a nationwide program by next spring.
Fannie Mae, the nation’s biggest underwriter of home mortgages, has been under increasing pressure from the Clinton Administration to expand mortgage loans among low and moderate income people and felt pressure from stock holders to maintain its phenomenal growth in profits.
In addition, banks, thrift institutions and mortgage companies have been pressing Fannie Mae to help them make more loans to so-called subprime borrowers. These borrowers whose incomes, credit ratings and savings are not good enough to qualify for conventional loans, can only get loans from finance companies that charge much higher interest rates — anywhere from three to four percentage points higher than conventional loans.
”Fannie Mae has expanded home ownership for millions of families in the 1990′s by reducing down payment requirements,” said Franklin D. Raines, Fannie Mae’s chairman and chief executive officer. ”Yet there remain too many borrowers whose credit is just a notch below what our underwriting has required who have been relegated to paying significantly higher mortgage rates in the so-called subprime market.”
Demographic information on these borrowers is sketchy. But at least one study indicates that 18 percent of the loans in the subprime market went to black borrowers, compared to 5 per cent of loans in the conventional loan market.
In moving, even tentatively, into this new area of lending, Fannie Mae is taking on significantly more risk, which may not pose any difficulties during flush economic times. But the government-subsidized corporation may run into trouble in an economic downturn, prompting a government rescue similar to
that of the savings and loan industry in the 1980′s.
”From the perspective of many people, including me, this is another thrift industry growing up around us,” said Peter Wallison a resident fellow at the
American Enterprise Institute. ”If they fail, the government will have to step up and bail them out the way it stepped up and bailed out the thrift industry.”
Under Fannie Mae’s pilot program, consumers who qualify can secure a mortgage with an interest rate one percentage point above that of a conventional,
30-year fixed rate mortgage of less than $240,000 — a rate that currently averages about 7.76 per cent. If the borrower makes his or her monthly payments on time for two years, the one percentage point premium is dropped.
Fannie Mae, the nation’s biggest underwriter of home mortgages, does not lend money directly to consumers. Instead, it purchases loans that banks make on what is called the secondary market. By ex pan ding the type of loans that it will buy, Fannie Mae is hoping to spur banks to make more loans to people with less-than-stellar credit ratings.
HERE IS WHAT BILL CLINTON HAS TO SAY:
Bill Clinton knows who is responsible for this NATIONAL CRISIS!
PRESIDENT BILL CLINTON: “I think the responsibility that the Democrats have may rest more in resisting any efforts by Republicans in the Congress or by me when I was President to put some standards and tighten up a little on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.”
You’re right, Mr. President. It didn’t have to happen
If you’d like more:
Issues and solutions:
CHANGE:
McCain has challenged both the Republican and Democratic Machines. Obama has NEVER voted against the Democratic political line. Obama wants to change from the Republican political machine to the Democratic political machine.
TRUTH:
McCain is honest about challenges and sacrifice needed for what is best for the nation. But who wants to vote for that.
Obama doesn’t lie. Obama makes “political promises” of free stuff, subsidies, and lower taxes. Free and/or subsidized: health care, education, mortgage payments, and every thing else you think he said. Who wouldn’t vote for that?
In the last debate he now wants to subsidize the economies of the former USSR satellites!
ECONOMY and ECONOMICS:
To pay for this he wants to increase capital gains taxes. Doesn’t he know the 401k’s have lost money big time? There are no capital gains to tax! He wants to increase taxes on big business. Doesn’t he know many are LOSING money or going bankrupt? Where are the profits to tax? I know he didn’t major in math or business or economics, neither did I, but even I know this just doesn’t add up!
WAR AND MILITARY:
He also wants to reduce military spending. He expects free national security? But he expects the military to be ready and able to go into Pakistan and get Binladen. Plus be ready to go into any country where there is injustice like genocide or what ever. Should they use rowboats and sling shots?
AND he wants ALL young Americans, not just the poor, to either serve in the military, or government foreign service or peace corp. How does he expect to pay for this? Volunteer labor? Forced free labor??
EXPERIENCE:
Palin does not have enough experience to be VP. But as VP she can learn on the job. Obama has more experience than… than… er… ahh… Oh Ya! Palin! (Except of course when it comes to an actual leadership position making actual decisions; and writing actual legislation… but what an autobiographer!). I really don’t want my president learning on the job. (Oh I learned I have to increase taxes. Oh I learned when I reduced the military we couldn’t stop the terrorists from attacking. Oh I learned that it was actually the Democrats that caused the sub prime mess that took down the US economy.)
If you vote for free stuff and lower taxes then you are as dumb as Obama thinks you are.
