2012 Watch: Palin’ Around With Larry King

In addition to blaming some campaign missteps on various unnamed McCain strategists and bashing the media, Gov. Sarah Palin was asked by Larry King tonight about the possibility of running for president in the future.

"If I have to call an audible down the road here and circumstances change, and the door is open for me to do so," Palin said, "I would take that challenge on, that responsibility, if I believed it was in the nation’s best interest."

She added later, when asked again, "if they call an audible on me, if they say they want me in another position, I’m gonna do it. I’m not gonna — especially here, today — tell you what some crystal ball is gonna show me, ’cause we don’t know what that crystal ball has within it. And there again — there again — my hands, my life is in God’s hands. If he’s got doors open for me, that I believe are in our state’s best interests, the nation’s best interests, I’m gonna go through those doors."

A good solid 48% of the country realizes how unfairly and viciously this good woman was treated from our pathetically biased mainstream media from the moment she stepped onto the national stage. The relentless and heartless personal attacks she endured have accrued to her good standing in a remarkable way.
Just look at the unyielding scrutiny paid to the expenses regarding her wardrobe compared to the complete lack of attention given to the millions of dollars collected by the Obama campaign by way of contributions less than $200, received by the Obama campaign due to their disabling of the mechanism which requires verification of the giver’s name. Millions of dollars in donations unaccounted for completely ignored by the mainstream media.

Palin surer is having fun letting this positive press boost her damaged image. Whatever happened to the “mean” and “anti-American” mainstream media?

Palin is stalking America and we want a friggin restraining order.
Can someone please make this woman go away? Uggghhh

Before getting all pious about how unfairly she was treated (which was really the doing of her own campaign), please actually read the transcripts of what she is saying lately. Really, read them. They are ramblings and pieced together mish-mashes of thoughts. She really isn’t saying anything.
If this were Obama talking, the same ‘folks’ loving her would be ridiculing the content. Anyway, I don’t hold any ill will towards her and hope she goes back to Alaska and does a good job there for them. Who knows what the future will bring, but I think she’s wrong to try to rehabilitate her image now as that will only backfire.

Dear Thank God for Karma: Did you READ or LISTEN to the Palin jibberish??? If she’s so “victimized”, why don’t you transcribe that nonsense and tell us what Palin was trying to say! Don’t just sit there and bloviate…tell us what that nonsense actually means.

What happens if her eyesight fails between now and 2012 and she can’t see Russia from Alaska?
What use would she be then?

Isn’t this celebrity DIVA concerned about over exposure.
Give it a rest Palin. Go home and get yourself a coach to see if you can be trained to think and perform at the same time. Don’t come back until you are of stringing together a couple of coherent sentences.
Yes there are a number of uneducated low information people in the United States that aren’t capable of separating facts from propaganda, but fortunately, as a whole, America isn’t a nation of ignorant people. You won’t ever be able to bluff your way into a National position where you could actually do harm to our country.

Someone published books with Quayle’s verbal blunders, and someone published books of “Bushisms.” We might get a book about Palinisms, if someone could figure out what she is even trying to say.

I doubt the Republicans will let her on the ticket. She really put them to shame.

It’s interesting, R Mutt, that you feel fatigue with someone most of the nation didn’t even know until Labor Day–but the continuing Obama-gasms erupting throughout the media both pre and post election apparently don’t perturb you.

If a black man or woman running on the ticket for President/Vice-President spoke in idiomatic Blinglish it would be on par with Palin’s manner of speaking. No one would have thought it charming or refreshing, we would all be yelling about how we can’t have anyone who speaks like that representing us to the world. So maybe some of her fans can understand how unacceptable her chill-billy talk was to a lot of us.

She’s giving interviews now only because no one is asking her tough questions any more. They’re all doing the sympathetic “where did it all go wrong thing”.
And even with these lame interviews half of her sentences are close to unintelligible, and in the ones that aren’t she shows ZERO insight.
Well, she doesn’t have enough to maintain even a desperate media’s interest beyond a few weeks. We won’t have to put up with this for long.

More media time for Sarah!
You Barry bots are funny. You claim she is a has been and yet you are glued to her every move. Get over it. If Barry messes up as badly as I beleive he will then Sarah Palin will be our next president. If that scares you libs then you should have elected and adult instead of an admitted cocaine user. You should have elected someone with a proven track record instead of a stealth candidate that has absolutely no record outside of running for office. You should also have elected someone who seems to be associated with every leftist wing nut in America. All Sarah Palin has to do to win in 2012 is to stand back and let Barry fail.

Sarah Palin has had to put up with more attacks than any other politican, with the possible exception of Reagan. But like Reagan, she continues to have a sunny personality, she continues to hold to her ideals, and continues to drive the libs into full out rage. I love it – so will America as they get to see her in more interviews like Greta’s, Matt’s, and this one.

Posted by: James | November 13, 2008, 12:11 am 12:11 am

Is it just my imagination or does it seem like the leftist who are attacking Sarah Palin are acting like they lost the election? There just does not seem to be in joy in the liberal hive over Barry O’s election. Why? Where is the happy talk of all the things Barry is going to give you? Where is all the wide-eyed optimism over how Barry will get rolled, er, I mean, cooperate with other nations? Where is the joy? Have you been locked up in your parents basement for so long you no longer no what sunshine looks like, or what birds sounds like? Where o’ where is the joy?
If you guys are this uptight about you guy alreasy that you still feel you need to atack potential opponents then you are in for a very long four years.

I like her. Her interviews so far have shown she is excited for Obama and I think she supports him completely.
In every campaign I have lived through, it is the job of the VP candidate to campaign against the opponent and to try to point out the flaws. It is just politics. Biden did it with McCain. Too many voters loyal to Obama are taking it personally.

I have actually had the chance to meet Goernor Palin. She is just such a down home, genuine, decent person. I was nervous at first and I think she realized this. She started to ask me questions about my family and we ended up talking for nearly five minutes. She took the time to make me comfortable and answered my questions. If what I saw was the real Sarah Palin, then I would LOVE to see her in the white house. I just don’t think it is possible to sit and talk with this woman and say the mean, nasty things some on this blog have said. Once again, we see that Sarah cannot utter a single sentence without butchering the English language. She sounds more like a fourteen year old with pimples rather than a forty four year old governor of an American state. There is no thought or maturity in a thing she says, just like Dubya! Her delusions of being president some day and joining the ranks of Washington, Jefferson, Madison and Lincoln make my skin crawl with disgust. So, she’s in God’s hands? May God wash his hands of her.

Blue, if this optimism and hope is out there then why does it not show up on any of these blogs? The Barry bots are attacking Sarah, they are not vouching for their guy. This is weird. Why does Sarah have a greater hold on you guys than the ideas of your own candidate. There just seems to be a bunker mentality that drives the Barry supporters to continue to lash out at Sarah instead of giving your love to your dear leader. Strange indeed….

Sarah Palin is the return of Ronald Reagan’s “morning in america”. She brings hope that one day we will return to common sense conservatism. She is the happy warrior that fights so all can visualize and bring into focus that shining city on the hill. With Obama everything seems to be a zero sum gain. He promises to “spread the wealth” instead of fostering the creation of wealth. He has replace “American Exceptionalism” with a blame America first creedo. Sarah Palin will never hold the dire, doom and gloom atttitude of America that Barry exudes.

I’m still trying to figure how you declare a winner when 3 states had closed there polls five mins. before the declaration?? Do our votes actually count or did I waste my time? The media needs to act a little more unbiased in my opinion and then maybe we can stand to listen to them again…

Sarah told Wolfe that she would be happy to help in the Obama administration.
My friends, this Sarah Palin is not a woman who sees America as you see it and how I see America.
Someone who sees America, it seems, as being so imperfect that she is palling around a guy who would pall with terrorists who would target their own country.
Someone who sees America as so imperfect, that she would be willing to help a SOCIALIST in government, that, being a government representative would mean voting in socialists all the time.
I don’t think it’s mean-spirited to call her out on this. I question her judgment and associations on this one. She thinks Americans are imperfect enough that she would pal around with a socialist and a terrorist’s pal.

More votes to be counted tomorrow and possibly Friday.
The remaining votes come from Begich-friendly districts. Mark Begich is now an overwhelming favorite to win the Alaska Senate seat.

So, less than 20 percent of whole population…. She will not get any independent or DEm vote… Gop, don’t make mistake on 2012, Choose better candidate… you have Bobby, Mitt, Tom… If Palin get nomination of GOP, you will get less than 45 percent of the popular vote on any presidential election.

I don’t think Sarah has any chance on Senate this time.
Beigh will win.
The rest uncounted votes are from Beigh friendly districts. And already Beigh is leading 800 votes.
So, Sarah, wake up from dream of coming to Washington. You will stay in Alaska where you belong.

Posted by: Rudy | November 13, 2008, 2:38 am 2:38 am

Sarah has been mavericky this week with the word “progress.”
With Greta:
…we had to be able to put up with that and take that in order to progress the message.
…somebody very, very committed to policies that I believe will progress this country in the right direction.
With Matt:
…we tried to articulate, that we were the true change that would progress this nation.
With Wolf:
…seize this opportunity that we have to progress this nation together, a united front.
… make sure that all of us are doing all that we can to progress this nation.
Now is the time to move forward together, start progressing America.
Now With Larry:
…reaching out to Barack Obama, in order to progress this nation.
…work in bipartisan manners in order to progress this nation.
…I will do anything and everything that I can to progress the great state of Alaska.

I guess this shows that Caribou Barbie can memorize interview answers just fine….as long as it serves her and not anyone else.
How long is she going to use the ‘open door’ thingy? Its boring already. Comeon Palin, entertain us… tell us about the dinosaurs or something!

Posted by: JoeShmoe | November 13, 2008, 3:20 am 3:20 am

To compete in 2012, Palin would have to do, among others, several things. First, she would have to start in 2011. If sufficient support (particularly funds) were there, she would have to compete in the GOP primaries againist a number of well financed and capable opponents in numerous primaries. Then she, if she wins the GOP nomination, would have to compete againist President Obama.
If the first step does not stop her, the second one will. She would never survive the GOP primaries.

I watched about 10 minutes of Palin with Larry King. He’d read a question. She’d run her canned response back at him that I’ve heard stated repeatedly in the media lately. And she just rambles on and on and on and on. Good thing she’s running out her clock now so we see the continued futility of her ambitious political road to nowhere. She is an idiot, we are in agreement on this one, right?

Posted by: C oliver | November 13, 2008, 5:15 am 5:15 am

For those of you who said Palin supports Obama, you haven’t been listening to well. She said she would be glad to help even with ties to his terrorist threats and being a Socialist.
I wouldn’t want her help in anything.
She stays on one subject and I have the feeling she thinks she is always right. OOOh
All of her interviews are the same – babbling on and on, if the doors open and God thinks she should run for president she will charge the door.
She knocks the media – well they are doing their job and if she would listen to herself she might undersand why they are slamming her.

Posted by: smt | November 13, 2008, 6:02 am 6:02 am

I am one television viewer who has begun to change the channel every time I hear that Palin is going to appear on an interview. Way too much time is being spent on her and there seems to be the pretense by the media at large that what Palin has to say is important and valuable. Just can’t take it (or her) any more. The media could well be held responsible in the future for the rise (after the great fall of the past couple of months) of this woman in national politics. Maybe our new slogan should be “stupid people for president in 2012.”

Posted by: counting crows | November 13, 2008, 6:40 am 6:40 am

Begich is now leading Stevens in the Alaska vote. With any luck, he’ll win and this woman can stay home and do the job she was elected to do. Maybe Alaskans have any easier time understanding what the hell she’s talking about than the rest of us.

Let this woman run whatever position she wants to run and if the door is open for her to run for president of the United States give her the chance to run and we’ll see how the american people will trash her out so she will shut up and stood still in her hometown Wasilla, Alaska and just take care of her 5 kids and her first dude.

Enough is enough..if Palin cannot bring herself to admit she does not have the right and full qualifications for high profile political positions then I send a plea to the public and to the media–please don’t pander to her any longer. Clearly, she is loving the publicity and spotlight on her and she doesn’t want it to go away. Her family needs her–we, the public, don’t. If this continues then I am looking forward to NOT hooking up my TV black box in February when TV goes HD–no news is good news!

Also on Larry King:
PALIN: “We need to get away from that and domestic solutions that are at our fingertips. I want to help lead in that area. ALSO, what I can do as a Republican governor is do all that I can in my state and hopefully in the nation ALSO in helping our families who have children with special needs. It’s an issue near and dear to my heart. It resonated well throughout the campaign ALSO, Americans recognizing that this is time that our families who have children and adults with special needs, that America shows its good heart to them ALSO. And we start cherishing every life, I want to help in that arena ALSO.”

I don’t know what presidential campaign most of you watched, but the one I saw had Ms. Palin name-calling 99% of the time about Pres. elect Obama. She was vindictive, snarky, and a woman with a vendetta (not to mention her Palin-McCain ticket). She is sealing her own fate with her negativity towards people in the southern 48 states and the sooner she starts to “take care of her family” instead of trying to drum up support for her own agenda, the sooner I won’t have to change channels when she shows up on tv.

Larry King was so condesending to her. I think things have a way of coming back around. The press, and the DNC, felt they needed to tear this woman down to lift Obama up. And it worked, temporarily, but that’s a shakey foundation to build something on. Karma has a nasty habit of biting you in the arse.

Why is it that when someone defends Sarah Palin by using the same tactics that her detractors use the posts get deleted? Did we just elect a dictator that is above criticism? If I have to choose between someone like Sarah who has taken everything the left can throw at her and someone like Barry that sends his goons in the media to go after a private citizen that just asked a question, then I will gladly support Sarah?
Really, why is there such a one sided environment in the press? Does anyone really believe that denying the opposition a voice is good for our nation?

I’m afraid if she keeps up this behavior she will have to be sent to the pound.

Posted by: seemstome | November 13, 2008, 10:29 am 10:29 am

The election is over but Palin is still running strong. What the hell is going on back in Alaska? Who knows? Certainly not Palin. Todd must be in charge of the store. Meanwhile Palin is trying to take charge of the republican party.
Going further right is the wrong move for them now so if she succeeds I say excellent choice!
When the cold, stark reality of collapsed oil prices hits home back in Juneau, Palin will not look so much like the Golden Girl of the Permanent fund dividend check anymore. The pit-bull with lipstick will lose her aura with voters. All that will be left are her tics and her fleas.

Posted by: seemstome | November 13, 2008, 10:47 am 10:47 am

seemstome, or to the White House perhaps.
Sarah Palin continues to draw attention because she is a leader. One small example; with the price of oil skyrocketing the state of Alaska saw some very large budget surpluses earlier this year. Did Governor Palin spend this money on foolish social programs that have consistently failed? No. Did she throw the money at the special interest groups that could help her politically? No. Governor Palin took that money and “pre-bought” goods and services that the government of Alaska provides for their citizens and returned the rest to her citizens to help them pay for higher priced gas. She did not choose the politically expedient route and the people of Alaska are better prepared now to face the national down turn in the economy. Can you imagine any scenario where Barry Obama would act in a similar, positive fashion? I wish we had more politicians like Governor Palin in Washington.
You might argue that Governor Palin’s successful political choices are dictated by “instinctual” understanding of governance instead of a “studied” understanding. That is fine. She is new on the national scene and her political beliefs will gain that depth. However, do not ignore the fact that her instinct are right on. They point to a set of governing principles that will serve her well as she moves up to take on bigger challenges. There are many politicians who will never understand good governance either through study nor through instinct. I believe we elected someone who is lacking both routes to success in Barry Obama. If it is not too late, maybe we can send Barry to Alaska to learn the basics of governance from Sarah Palin before he brings harm to our nation.

When we need a witch hunter with a religiously bigoted social engineering infiltration program, we’ll let her know. Maybe for the Halloween Parade in West Hollywood? Better, the Carnaval party in Rio. I am sure the military junta can find a job for her … torturing college students maybe? At least she has experience doing that!

If Sarah Palin had no chance of gettign elected you would be ignoring her. But you are here, still trying to destroy her. As they say, “actions speak louder than words”.
Sarah Palin will have an opportunity to speak directly to the American people. Like Reagan, they will like what she has to say when it comes to her governing principles. Good governance will beat out the ability to speak in quick sound bites every time.

She brings a freshness to the conservative party that has been unseen since Reagan. We all need to give her a chance and not have our minds made up due to media bias. So what if Africa statement is true or untrue, Obama said we had 57 states in our union., true or untrue who cares. Your on the road constantly campaigning you are bound to say blunders we are all human.
If us conservatives do not regroup and send some fresh energy into the white house we will never turn around this sinking ship filled with liberals.

This is why Sarah Palin is not fit to govern: she is a religious hypocrite.
Her behavior has encouraged evil, she did it knowingly and by design. She thereby became evil herself.
“Secret Service agents say Palin’s attacks ignited a rise in death threats against the now US president-elect.
The US Secret Service blames Alaska Governor Sarah Palin for causing a spike in pre-election death threats against Senator Barack Obama.
“Secret Service agents revealed during the final weeks of the campaign that Palin’s attacks on Obama’s patriotism unintentionally encouraged a rise in death threats against the then Democratic candidate, the Daily Telegraph reported.
The former Republican vice presidential candidate accused Obama of ‘palling around with terrorists’ for his association with the sixties radical William Ayers.
Although Palin drew widespread criticism for the remarks by critics and opponents, the attacks created such an atmosphere at her rallies where supporters frequently yelled ‘terrorist’ and ‘kill him’.
The McCain camp was then forced to order her to tone down the rhetoric.
According to the Telegraph report, the Secret Service warned the Obama family in mid October that there was a dramatic increase in the number of threats against the Democratic candidate, coinciding with Palin’s attacks.
Two white supremacists, Daniel Cowart and Paul Schlesselman, were arrested in late October for plotting to assassinate the now president-elect Obama.”
McCain aides, who blame the Alaska governor for losing the Nov. 4 elections, claim that Palin chose to question Obama’s patriotism before clearing the approach by Senator McCain.
