Biden Meets Cheney After Countless Jabs on the Campaign Trail

ABC News’ Matthew Jaffe reports: Days after President George W. Bush welcomed President-elect Barack Obama to the White House, the nation’s top surrogate, Dick Cheney, tonight greeted his successor, Joe Biden, in a private meeting at the vice president’s residence, Washington’s Naval Observatory.

The present and future second-in-commands, accompanied by their wives Lynne and Jill, respectively, met behind closed doors for just over 50 minutes after the Bidens, as the senator has done for 36 years, took the Amtrak train down to D.C., arriving on the Acela at Union Station just before 5 pm.

"It was a good visit," read a statement released by Cheney’s office. "The Cheneys enjoyed giving the Bidens a tour of the residence and wished them well as they make it their home in January."

"The Bidens thank the Cheneys for welcoming them into their home and for their gracious hospitality," said Biden spokesperson Elizabeth Alexander.

While the statements on the private meeting were cordial, Biden has already thrown many a public jab at the man he will replace.

"The most dangerous vice president we’ve had" was how Biden described Cheney at the vice presidential debate Oct. 2 in St. Louis.

And again in Bowling Green, Ohio on November 1, the day Cheney endorsed Republican nominee Sen. John McCain. "Dick Cheney has been wrong on everything else the last eight years," Biden said.

In his two and a half months on the campaign trial, the Delaware lawmaker never hesitated in blasting Cheney on the stump. In fact, no sooner had Biden accepted the role of Obama’s running mate then he immediately ripped Cheney in his address to fellow Democrats at the party’s convention Aug. 27 in Denver.

"For every American who is trying to do the right thing, for all those people in government who are honoring their pledge to uphold the law and respect our Constitution, no longer will the eight most dreaded words in the English language be: ‘The vice president’s office is on the phone’."

Especially inflammatory to Biden was Cheney’s claim that the vice presidency does not fall under any executive branch.

"At least I know what the vice president does," quipped Biden in Raleigh, NC, October 23. "Not with Dick Cheney. Not with vice president Cheney, who said he’s not a part of either branch!"

In his Washington University debate with Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, Biden ripped Cheney’s time in office, denouncing him as the most dangerous man ever to serve as the nation’s second-in-command.

"Vice President Cheney has been the most dangerous vice president we’ve had probably in American history,” Biden said. “The idea he doesn’t realize that Article I of the Constitution defines the role of the vice president of the United States – that’s the Executive Branch. He works in the Executive Branch. He should understand that. Everyone should understand that.”

“And the primary role of the vice president of the United States of America is to support the president of the United States of America, give that president his or her best judgment when sought, and as vice president, to preside over the Senate, only in a time when in fact there’s a tie vote. The Constitution is explicit."

From the serious to the silly, Biden took countless shots at Cheney, at one rally even taking over Cheney Stadium, a minor-league ballpark just outside Seattle.

“I want to thank you for…temporarily changing the name from Cheney Stadium to Obama-Biden Stadium for the day,” he said October 19th. “Besides, if it was Cheney Stadium, we’d be at an undisclosed location. You’d never have been able to find us!”

“Who the hell wants to be vice president?” Biden had asked at a San Francisco fundraiser just the day earlier. "We don’t pay attention to vice presidents much. Especially Cheney. So you know, I’ve got a lot to overcome.”

If nothing else, Biden’s meeting gave him a chance to check out his future home, the Naval Observatory in the northwest corner of the Capital City.

On Election Day, Biden said he looked forward to moving there due to its proximity to his son Hunter’s house, which gave Hunter’s daughter Finnegan all the reasons she needed to want her grandfather to take over the Naval Observatory.

"She said it’s a mile and five-tenths, so that was the reason to run for vice president,” Biden joked in an impromptu plane press conference with Finnegan en route to Chicago. “The vice president’s house is a mile and I think it was five-tenths, you said from the house. And her little sister Maisy’s up there. She said, ‘Yeah Pop, it’s got a swimming pool.’ You know, they’re all the reasons, all the good reasons."

ABC News’ Martha Raddatz, Jon Garcia, Vija Udenans, and Sunlen Miller contributed to this report.

Biden, like Cheney, has a big mouth; but Biden, unlike Cheney, is sane & respects the Constitution. That’ll be a gr8 change.

We watch PBS on Cheney, Biden is correct is has been a very dangerous vice-president. Bush is just cocky and stupid, but Cheney thinks he is a king instead of being elected and does whatever he wants to without asking congress!

The campaign is over. The American tradition is that your opponent is the sleaziest, least competent person to ever hold office. Although that stupidity damages the latter part of a governing term, once the elections are over, it is time to recognize that our system does not allow jerks into office.
So, athough I know it may hurt ratings, for the good of the country, it is a good idea for all of media to cool it with the bombastic hyperbole that marks a “rough and tumble” election campaign. To do otherwise would be using their power in an unpatriotic (hurting our country) way.

I love this renewed sense of bi-partisanship coming from Obama and the Democrats. Nope…nothing negative about the Obama/Biden campaign…just the issues. When I read the comments here from the Democrat postings, I know things are gonna change. Time to “work together” to solve America’s problems. Together, We Can. What a joke! OBAMA – 4, USA – 0

TheBob…
If we did as you suggest we wouldnt have a President-elect or a VP-elect. Those two and their friends are the biggest bunch of criminals and terrorists around. Even the new First “Lady” hates America. They admitted that they stole money from unsuspecting people by not checking credit card donations. Can’t wait to see what they have in store for the IRS to do to us. Their fund raising tactics were just a warm up.

I think Cheney’s a draft dodger, and an oilman two bad things. but he sure makes sense when he talks. Irag war is bad as he tried to win with too few boots on the ground. Bidon is a tool for the trail attorneys. esp the asbestos gang, as is his son. after 4 yrs of Bidon , we all may wish Cheny took him hunting.

Obama didn’t only have credit card donations…they were PREPAID credit cards, which are untraceable. So when Obama says he had 300 million in donations from average americans….I begin to wonder WHO was actually making those donations. Scary…

Biden is dead wrong on this one. The vice president is not part of the executive branch. In fact he is not supposed to be asked anything by the president. That is what the presidents cabinet is for. If the president makes a bad call and is impeached or resigns from office there can be no ties to the vice president. It would undermine our entire system.
The vice president casts a vote in the Senate in the event of a tie. He is briefed daily on the goings on of the president and the world in case something happens to the president. No executive power at all.
Semantically, I suppose he is still under that branch of the gov’t because he is certainly not a legislator or a judge but keep in mind that no decision making power is ever given to him if/until he becomes president.

Dangerous Halliburton Oilman Cheney with his tricky trigger shotgun finger is finally leaving. Of course the news of Cheney having more time for hunting is not good news for the Lawyers out there. Guess someone can make a lot of money to invent a bullet proof Lawyer suit since Cheney with his hunting rifle in hand is being released into the wild.

“The idea he doesn’t realize that Article I of the Constitution defines the role of the vice president of the United States – that’s the Executive Branch. He works in the Executive Branch. He should understand that. Everyone should understand that.”
Of course the author wouldn’t point out the fact that it isn’t Article I that defines the role of the Vice President.
Jim Bob,
Are you saying that you don’t work everyday to become rich? I guess there is no reason to become rich anymore, we’d just have to give someone else a piece of our pie.

I could handle living at the Naval Observatory, and maybe making an occassional overseas junket to attend someone’s funeral. I think that would be okay.
In fact its an ideal job for anyone who isn’t offended by the thought of not being in the news everyday (which pretty much leaves out all politicians).
I’d take it in a second.

All this and Obama isn’t even president yet. It’s just so refreshing that we are again going to have someone in the White House that we can all be proud of. Also with Biden as VP, we can all be proud after suffering thru the worst this country has ever seen. YES WE CAN!!!

Typical Dem leader- doing all they can to tear down their opponents while blaming their opponent of being “divisive” and of course the mainstream press plays right along. And the opponent- Cheney in this case- continues to show the class and responsible action of a true leader- intent on work and not wasting time on the verbal politics, typical of the Repub’s.

Ever since the election the libbies have been saying that they wanted to move on beyond all the partisan sniping and bickering [(of course we all know this is just to give their guy the best chance to succeed, and preempt as much criticism of him as possible – and especially stop the conservatives from revealing as much of Obama’s inconsistencies as possible.- All of this so he can install as many of his social programmies as possible.)] They say republicans should just be big and accept Obama’s win, yet that is not what they did with Bush. They started sniping from day one even though Bush won ‘three’ recounts. Also, remember when the outgoing Clinton people took the ‘W’ of the keyboards (that wasn’t very mature and accepting of the democratic outcome was it), and the libbie-libs did not stop sniping for 8 years. Now they expect us to just give their guy a free hand. WHAT HYPOCRISY !!
I might have somewhat let up on Obama if it was not for what I am seeing now……. With McCain on Leno (the’ Skunk Haired’ Man with his non-stop jokes about McCain and few about Obama) the other night I am seeing the ‘Same Old Liberal Hypocrisy’ and sniping at McCain, and now Cheney…….. So much for their kinder, gentler compassionate-liberal mindset (liberals are just as full of HATE & BIGOTRY as anyone but they just get called on it SO much less often because the Liberal Media is in their back left pocket).
Liberals are not more compassionate and humanitarian than anyone else. They will Lie, Cheat, & Backstab more than anyone when they don’t get their way. All so they can continue to promote themselves as compassionate while they spew Hate to create a society just for themselves. They substantially get away with it because the Media lets them (which shows the Media’s Hypocrisy)…… The ‘Media’s Bigotry’ really showed in this election, and this Bias (along with their Kissing Cousin, Hollywood’s) really influenced many susceptible young minds. Obama was made to look hip while McCain was criticized at every turn (this is why myself and others think we have a MEDIA INDUCED PRESIDENT).
Also, since the outgoing Clintonians took the W’s of the keyboards maybe the Republicans should take the O’s off the keyboards, or maybe the B, H & O’s off. After all if the Libbies never get called on their antics they feel encouraged to continue (so much for their maturity level). When children don’t get spanked they grow up to be like the spoiled brats the Libbie-O’libs are today (especially with the media having their back like it does Obama’s).
No, with what I am seeing today I will not let up on Obama. I will continue to point out his, and the Media’s Hypocrisy, and point out why I think he IS a ‘Media Induced President’ who just got the “Biggest Dose of Affirmative Action Ever”………..

Can we start an email blitz to congress and demand they take a 25% paycut and give up their generous retirement and insurance packages? In the emails, also insist that the crooks on Wall Street be PROSECUTED. Congress and these crooks need to feel our pain….that won’t happen until they lose a little of what the rest of us have lost…our retirement savings, college funds for our children, and for many more their homes. For God’s sakes, the insanity has to stop………and we need to band together and quit this stupid partisanship bickering. There are bigger problems besides Biden/Cheney hooking up in a photo-op. I want everyone to band together and demand justice, not get on this blog and bash each other’s candidates. Stop the insanity, please. Put your energy where it will be useful: keep the pressure up on Congress to step to the plate, make some hard decisions, and take care of America.

Obama’s choice of Biden for VP was neither hastily done nor lacking, Biden has considerable talents and can step into any role necessary for Obama. Biden brings to the table his ability to speak knowledgeably about issues ranging from foreign policy to the country’s domestic, having held two of the most important jobs in Washington — chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee and chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. His presence in Obama administration is reassuring. Many appropriately tout Joe’s raw honesty, intelligence, loyalty and integrity…not just friends… and millions of Americans love this man. He has given much to this great country, and will give even more as VP. Does Joe sometimes say things in an interesting fashion? Yes, but it’s always with candid honesty. Does he have passion? You bet he does, and I for one am grateful for it. Joe Biden is a breath of fresh political air…he is standup, bright, and respected. Obama hit the ball out of the park with Biden. I say utilize this rare man and his considerable talents. And BTW, the media is remiss, if not tiring, when they highlight any minor Biden misspeak as “real news”…most of us accepted Joe Biden just as he is a long, time ago, I suggest media and others do the same. Cheney was a dangerous VP; saddly, historically, he will be remembered as such.

Yes, Cheney is a very Dangerous, to Terrorists (and even Liberal’s Propagandist Politics).
It was Cheney who understood the lessons of the First Gulf War (in the early 90’s). Back then almost all of the “So Called Experts” (Many from the UN) said Saddam Hussein was at least 3 years from a Nuclear weapon, but probably more like 5-6 years away. After Hussein was defeated and the Weapons Inspectors got a look at his program it was discovered that in fact he was only 9-18 MONTHS away (This Point Is HUGE).
Cheney understood that the only way we were going to know about Hussein’s weapons program with the SECOND Gulf War was to have American Boots on the Ground that could go ‘Where They Chose, When They Chose’ and Inspect (since Hussein had run interference on the UN inspectors all during the Mid-90’s and in effect kicked them out in 1998). Cheney understood this better than anyone, and the fact that we had to ‘Err on the Side of Safety’……… Most of the ‘World is Clueless’ about this point (especially supposedly well informed ‘Old Europe’, and American Liberals).
When was the last time our Grand Illustrious Media has reminded people of this point. This point is ‘So Overwhelmingly Huge’ that if the Media was Really doing it’s job everyone would know it well. It would be repeated (by our Grand Illustrious Media) often enough for it to be ingrained in peoples minds, just like they did with Cheney’s Hunting accident (you know ‘On the Hour, Every Hour’ for 10-14 days). This ‘REPITEOUS MEDIA PROPOGANDIZING’ is why many of us feel that we have a MEDIA INDUCED PRESIDENT in OBAMA.
Lets look at Cheney’s Hunting Accident and how it was reported.
-He accidentally shot a friend [not a Demi-Dem or a member of the Media (although the media almost seemed to want that kind of Drama)]. After three days we found out his friend was not really hurt that badly (although the media played it for all it was worth). His friend said that he did not think Cheney meant to shoot him and he admitted that he had left the group and was out of place where Cheney would not have expected him to be. Yet the media kept it in the news for at least 10 days, often on the hour and sometimes the half hour. All of this and yet in no way did the accident affect National, or International Policy.
However, about the same time, when Saddam Hussein admitted that he was trying to make the world think he had WMD (to scare of Israel, Iran & the US) it stayed in the news maybe two days at best, and was reported a couple times per day at best.
Do we have an objective media, ‘Only In a Child’s Mind’ !!!!!!!!

It is the local and state government that are supposed to act first. Nagan didn’t have a clue and Blanco didn’t either. Bush ordered FEMA to act and they didn’t. It was well documented that the blame fell on Michael Brown. However, since FEMA is a Federal Agency, Bush took responsibility.

NB Stewart – VERY well said. I think Sen Biden was a great choice, for many reasons. His foreign affairs experience alone is really impressive. There are no words to express how happy I was on election night… how happy the entire civilized world was.. on election night. We would not have survived much more of Bush/Cheney. Eight years of the most corrupt administration in history has finally come to a close. No more ill-managed wars, no more KBR and Halliburton no-bid contracts. No more bumbling idiocy, no more dark & evil guidance from the VP to the idiot. Obama & Biden will truly be a breath of fresh air.

Joe Biden is a complete idiot. First, he DOESN’T KNOW WHAT A VP IS AND DOESN’T KNOW WHERE IN THE CONSTITUTION TO FIND THE POWERS. DUH! For two lawyers, Biden and Obama really don’t understand the Constitution AT ALL! Poor Joe, Cheney was right, the responsibilities FALL under the legistlative branch. Gosh, if I got $5 for every Biden gaffe, I’d probably be a millionaire by now. For someone who said that FDR talked to the American people on t.v needs some physcological evaluation. Joe Biden’s criticism of Cheney is PURE JEALOUSY! And Joe knows it. He doesn’t like Bush and Cheney letting this government be a republic instead of a socialistic one. One thing is for sure, the States of Delaware and Illinois are finally free of two idiots. Now, if we can just survive till 2012, we won’t have to look at them anymore!

JKep – Bush also kept America safe for the last 8 years. If Clinton had done more, we might not have had 9/11. Bush had to do what Clinton would not.

In the article, Biden is quoted as saying, “…to preside over the Senate, only in a time when in fact there’s a tie vote. The Constitution is explicit’.”
Biden has been a Senator for 28 years yet still does not know what the Constitution says about the VPs duties?
Article I, Section 3: “The Vice President of the United States shall be President of the Senate, but shall have no vote, unless they be equally divided.”
The VP presides over the Senate at all times but only has a vote in case of a tie. The Senate’s President pro tem presides when the VPs not there.
I hope somebody explains to Biden why he’s still going to be showing up at Senate sessions.

I hope Biden can find his way to the Senate sessions. Hangovers can be very nasty to deal with.

All I can say is that the late night comedians are going to have enough laughs at Biden’s expense that they won’t have to come up with any other material.

Diane, are you serious.. Kept us safe.. Tax cuts for the his rich oil buddies.. Trying (and FAILING) to finish his daddies war.. Bush had all of the informaition available to him in JAN after Clinton left office, thats 9 months to do something, evidently Bush didn’t want to do anything either.. National debt trippled in 8 yrs in office.. Wiretapping on American citizens.. Approval of torture methods.. How many more examples do ya want, please show some intelligence and stop being a Bush appologist, we all know he will go down as the worst president to sit in the Oval office.

JKep – it’s pretty odd then that during his first four years he had the highest approval rating ever. But this recession that the democrats brought on–SNL skit – with Pelosi, Reid, and Frank
Do you have a job? NO
Are you an American citizen? NO
Are you a democrat? YES

have now resulted in a low approval rating. How fickle the American public are. But let’s blame Bush for this too. Why don’t you check out the approval rating for Congress? Last time I checked it was hovering around 17%.

Cheney, Rumsfeild and Bush should be tried for war crimes on January 20th, 2009. It is truly the sorriest years of any presidential administration. I have gain a new respect for Carter and Ford after this last 8 years.

Posted by: Temple62 | November 13, 2008, 4:19 pm 4:19 pm

Diane, neither Nixon nor Clinton was impeached, Nixion resigned and the investigators could not come up with enough evidence to conduct a formal impeachment process, an investigation was all that happened. Funny that you blame congress for the morgage loans, it all comes down to the fact that people don’t know how to say NO when they can’t afford it. By the way I was a regestered republican since I turned 18 in 1988, and Bush is the reason that I change to Democrat, what he has done to the Republican party will take YEARS to fix.

Posted by: Jkep | November 13, 2008, 4:28 pm 4:28 pm

Maybe all in Congress that voted for the war should be tried for war crimes. John Kerry, John Edwards, Hillary Clinton please step forward.

Posted by: Diane | November 13, 2008, 4:28 pm 4:28 pm

JKep, please get your history straight. I wasn’t talking about Nixon, I was talking about Andrew Jackson. Take History 101.

and Bill Clinton was impeached by the House but aquitted by the Senate.

JKep – Funny that you blame congress for the morgage loans, it all comes down to the fact that people don’t know how to say NO when they can’t afford it.———– So now it is Bush’s fault that people don’t know how to say NO. Wow! Why didn’t I think of that!!

We need to forgive, but that does not
mean we need to forget.
Call Bush and Cheney whatever you want, but did the Clintons and Gore demonstrate grace like this when they moved out?
No the Clintons behaved inmature! Remmember!!

I am truly saddened by the comments of most of you, no matter what your political persuasion. You seem uninformed and emotional. Take the time to learn more about both sides, and read about the issues that have been addressed by the last three presidents and compare their policies and their effectiveness, both economic and foreign policy based. None is perfect.
Then make a truly informed decision about how this country has been run for the last 24 years and why most people would demand a change in policy through a change in party. Leave your personal moral issues at the door, and look dispassionately at how the world and our economy fared under each president.
We are not allowed to be an isolationist nation. What we do affects the entire world. And we needed to bring that awareness with us to the ballot box. I love this country, but I know how we affect the world markets (watch the news) and how our policies have been reviled in some enormous sectors of the world, and not just by the extremist/terrorist sector.
It is time for a thoughtful man to take the presidency.

Cheney said the VP had a foot in both the Legislative and Executive branch………
People (liberals & the press) cried out…………
Then Cheney reminded them (or told those that didn’t know) that:
–The VP’s paycheck came from the Legislative Branch.
–The VP did not have an office in the White House until JFK’s administration.
–That executive power had been eroding roughly since JFK (and others backed that up, even a few in the press).
–Many VP responsibilities were outside the Executive Branch.
(even Biden was made to look like a fool on these points)
Cheney simply calmly backed up his contentions with facts, as he has SO often done, and in so doing blew the liberals and the liberal media away (they sat there dumbfounded).
He did not need emotionalistic drama & theatre to prove his point. Liberals can’t stand (or comprehend) someone who dispenses with emotionalism and replaces it with facts. Such is beyond their ‘Pay Grade’ to comprehend.
That is one of the reasons they hate him so much (but I thought they were above Hate & Bigotry), he doesn’t engage in their type of emotionalism, (and he does not let them get to him) or emotion based irrationalism.

Liberal Dems have zero class…Biden is proof.

Posted by: Tim Daniels | November 13, 2008, 4:45 pm 4:45 pm

Jkep – You need to read the Constitution. Bush DID call the Governor of Louisiana if she needed any help and she TURNED HIM DOWN! Ralph Nagin was guilty of derriliction of duty. To blame Bush on the whole Katina mess is just absurd. NO WHERE does it say they are responsible. You have believed in the democrats mantra that the federal government is responsible for you!

Posted by: justrighttoo | November 13, 2008, 4:46 pm 4:46 pm

Joe Biden is a BUFFOON!

Posted by: TexasBetsy | November 13, 2008, 5:00 pm 5:00 pm

Biden is such a loser. Leave it to him to still try to sling mud when he should be trying to learn as much as possible during this transition. It doesn’t matter, though, because all Biden is going to do is move his lips when Obama the leftist illuminati dictator pulls his strings.

Posted by: Jeff | November 13, 2008, 5:05 pm 5:05 pm

Isn’t it interesting that Article 1 IS actually about the Legislature. Say what you will about Cheney’s stance, Biden doesn’t seem to know what defines his current job as a Senator, or future job as a VP. Glad you numb nuts out there elected him.

Posted by: Owen | November 13, 2008, 5:19 pm 5:19 pm

“A mile and five-tenths”?
He IS the dumbest idiot in the Senate, and that’s saying a lot, considering that there’s another Senator who thinks that there are 57 states. (Plus Biden claimed to have talked to his constituents in Wilmington at a restaurant that’s been closed for 20 years in a location that is two blocks from where it used to exist. In fact, I don’t think he got a single fact RIGHT in that one debate with Gov. Palin.)
I swear, maybe Bush forced Cheney to open the house to Biden, but if I were Cheney I wouldn’t give the guy the time of day and I certainly wouldn’t let him step foot into my house until Inauguration Day.

Posted by: Eagle in NYC | November 13, 2008, 5:22 pm 5:22 pm

The US to remain strong needs more of the Cheneys and less of the Bidens.
The dangerous ones are those likely to sit down and talk with the enemy.

Posted by: Kottaras | November 13, 2008, 6:09 pm 6:09 pm

There is no comparison between Cheney and Biden.
I would rather Cheney as President Than Obama or Biden.

Posted by: Kottaras | November 13, 2008, 6:20 pm 6:20 pm

You bet Cheney is Dangerous…. to the Terrorists who are bent on destroying America. Obama/Biden will just have them come meet in their offices and tell them America is Wrong! Sorry excuses for America’s elected officials. Neither one will do any more than Bush/Cheney to protect America or our Constitution.
After 4Years of a mealy mouthed appeaser, we will have to elect a real person of courage and integrity to the office again. That of course could only be a Republican.

Posted by: Wayne Cook | November 13, 2008, 6:52 pm 6:52 pm

Biden would love to be president. All he could manage was second fiddle.

Posted by: LongT | November 13, 2008, 6:58 pm 6:58 pm

Cheney ought to be up on charges for crimes against humanity. And in jail for surcumventing the constitution. Sadly, too many in congress and the senate fell for his lies. Ted Kennedy was right again. And good luck Joe- given the car crash left to fix.

Posted by: brian iron | November 13, 2008, 7:21 pm 7:21 pm

Can someone tell me what Cheney has done to deserve the comments posted here? I heard liar, corrupt, etc and that he should be taken to prison but not a word about specific issues. I here that we should support Obama and Biden because they are going to run the country do why can you not support the president and VP now?

Posted by: Help | November 13, 2008, 7:24 pm 7:24 pm

Did he arrest him?

Posted by: Thea | November 13, 2008, 7:58 pm 7:58 pm

How many times did the Republicans call Obama ‘a socialist’ and a ‘terrorist’ and how many times did they call Biden “corrupt”? So if Biden ripped into Cheney, what’s wrong with that? The press makes it look like Cheney is all innocent and Biden was mean spirited. That is really slanted coverage.

Posted by: gutsy_betsy | November 13, 2008, 8:57 pm 8:57 pm

The foolishness and ignorance of those who demonized Bush and Cheney will be one of the great curiosities of human history…right behind snake handling cults and human sacrifice.

Posted by: stmichrick | November 13, 2008, 10:02 pm 10:02 pm

Bush/Cheney were detrimental adminstrators for this country – Machiavellian leadership at its finest -an economy in the dumps, people losing homes and jobs, our Constitution torn to shreds, personal freedoms lost, wiretapping innocent Americans AND our soldiers at war overseas and then distributing and laughing about those tapes, torture practices, Hilliburton, Blackwater, and on and on. Why do people demonize Bush and Cheney – because they deserve it!

Posted by: sandy | November 13, 2008, 11:48 pm 11:48 pm

LET’S JUST SAY THAT IMPEACHMENT SHOULD HAVE OCURRED, BUT THE GOP BLOCKED IT.

President Bush and Vice President Cheney
thank you for keeping our country safe after 9/11. You will be missed because you had the courage to take to the enemies of America. My concerns are know we have men of weak character with no balls running this nation 1/09.

Posted by: Hippie Smasher | November 14, 2008, 12:55 am 12:55 am

Cheney was speaking on Veterans Day; a day set aside for our veterans and he rambled on about how safe we were now. It was more of a political statement than directed at veterans. The president of “Afghanistan and Iraq veterans of America” didn’t appreciate it and said it was not appropriate on a day we honor our veterans. Typical Cheney!!!

I’d argue with the Biden supporters, but you know what they say about arguing with fools.

Posted by: Leonard | November 14, 2008, 11:53 am 11:53 am

Biden’s probably going to run stright to OBammmy the leftistleader and tell him everything Cheney said so they can blast it to the liberal MSM to make themselves look better.

Posted by: Jeff | November 14, 2008, 4:27 pm 4:27 pm

In a few short months we will be begging for GWB to be back. This is a nightmare in the making right now. As for Biden and his stupid comments directed at Cheney its just typical for him. He has no class whatsoever. Before throwing those remarks at someone you better look in the mirror. The liberal media is coddling both obama and biden. This next 4 years are gonna be a nigthmare.

Sarah Falin cost mccain votes but not the election. He was doomed from the beginning. If he would of picked someone else as a running mate he wouldnt of embarrassed himself as bad. What 1st class upstanding professional woman can relate to Falin. Those women like to dress nice and have fun, unlike Falin who idea of a good time is a moosehunt and a backyard weenie-roast. The new clothes that the RNC bought for her looked no different than those $20.00 Pentecostal jumpsuits that she already had. FAILIN-PALIN
