Coming Up on ‘This Week’
He was the Republican Party’s biggest star — before Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin came along. Join us this Sunday morning for an exclusive interview with California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger. As wildfires ravage parts of his state, Schwarzenegger is struggling to contain his state’s runaway deficit of nearly $28 billion. With the nation’s economy spiraling, the Republican Governor is proposing some politically risky solutions including tax increases and spending cuts. We’ll ask him about his state’s billion-dollar deficit, the Proposition 8 same-sex marriage ban, and his thoughts on the future of the Republican Party. Plus, the This Week Roundtable with ABC News’ Sam Donaldson, Cokie Roberts, George Will, and the New York Times’ columnist and Nobel prize winning economist Paul Krugman on who will make up President-elect Barack Obama’s cabinet, the financial crisis, and next week’s hearings on Capitol Hill on a potential bailout for automakers. See you Sunday morning on This Week with George Stephanopoulos. –George Stephanopoulos

TO: ABC News: This week with George Stephanopoulos
FROM: Steven A. Pierce
SUBJECT: A hot topic for this weeks November 23, 2008 program.
TO WHOM IT CONCERNS,
I have a suggestion for the addition of a timely and related topic for inclusion in your Sunday-This week with George Stephanopoulos show airing on November 23, 2008. It involves the prospect of an early departure of the Bush Administration and transfer of power early to President-elect Obama before the preplanned January 20, 2009 inauguration date.
I wrote a proposal outlining the advantages of President Bush stepping-down early allowing President-elect Obama to take office early but, can’t find a way to deliver it to the offices of both administrations. If there’s any way you could either include my suggestion in your round table discussion and/or forward my proposal to the offices of the respective parties I would appreciate any help you could provide. I will be happy to forward you a copy of my proposal letter upon your request.
In conclusion, this Nation can’t afford to sit idly by under the leadership of an invisible presidency knowing that inaction could have catastrophic consequences. Each day the economic news around the world seems to get worse and now some experts are predicting the possibility of a global financial collapse in the absence of immediate well-planned counter-measures.
While the current administration winds-down its final 60 days in office, the Obama-Biden Administration can not take action to help until then. That is, unless President Bush agrees to step-down early. The point is we need to take action right now, not in 60 days from now. Just yesterday in the news with just a rumor of Hillary Clinton heading the new post as Security of State was enthusiasm enough for the stock market to respond with a huge upward adjustment.
Sincerely,
