Why take the huge gamble that Obama is not like his associates? McCain is a very solid choice. A very good man. Aside from 30 years in the Navy and 25 years in the senate he has an Asian daughter he adopted, spent 5 1/2 years as a POW while Ayers was bombing America, and has never taken an earmark. Sometime today we are going to have a new president. It may be Barack Obama or it might be John McCain. Whether one or the other there will be celebrating by the winner and bitterness by the defeated. Whether you are for one or the other candidate it has been a very polarizing election.
This has already been a historic election and will most certainly be a turning point one way or another for America. I hope that better judgment is used by both parties and this turning point is that it brings together more of us than tears apart.

Keith Richardson (above) makes a valid point. Tomorrow, one or the other is going to have to do a lot of bridge building to try and get the US back on the rails.

-Divorced first wife after she was disfigured in car accident-cheated on her first.
-Not a good pilot, plane he was shot down in was not the first he lost.
-Many veterans don’t trust him because of confused story of his captivity,& callous treatment of veterans & families over benefits.

Taken strictly as music? Abyssmal. Based on an English drinking song, it apparently was composed in an era when drunken Englishmen had a much greater range than modern voices. The lyrics of the first verse are stirring enough, with a theme of defiance and endurance, but the second verse is so bad nobody ever performs it, devolving quickly from defense into the bloody manifest destiny of conquest.
I think the Australians had the right idea. It’s much harder to get stirred into a jingoistic fervor to the strains of “Waltzing Matilda”.

actually Paul new man, we’re both right. There is a picture of Junior and Wallace in the book Living Proof, Juniors autobiography (which he didn’t write) and he gave him money, and appeared with him in campaign appearances.
