As we’re closing in on election day – just wondering, Jake, if you’ve noticed how Obama has recaptured his “post racial” appeal having captured the nomination. Mum’s the word ever since – but now pundits are back at it. Just a quick recap:
The Clintons blasted Obama throughout their now infamous losing streak, driving the racial wedge as deep as possible in an attempt to revive their campaign. As Democrats, with Bill continuing to operation under the delusion of the nation’s “first black president”, they were responsible for the only “vetting” allowed by those members of the media who happened to support Hillary’s candidacy.
But once they exited stage left, the media followed along with them, stepping even further left to “impress the world” – yes, America can elect an inexperienced black man to the highest office in the land.
Only if you listen to his campaign, he’s not even black. Apparently, he has completely disowned what the media refers to as the “paternal branch” of his extended family. It’s patently “unfair” to connect him to any person of color who might endanger the metrosexual image he wishes to portray. It appears the only “man of color” who can sustain an Obama connection happens to be Colin Powell.
But the scariest moment of it all, of course, was the attempted character assassination of “Joe the Plumber”, who dared to expose a glimpse of what Obama might ACTUALLY represent, carefully buried deep beneath the prepared and well-rehearsed rhetoric.
And so Pain is thoroughly grilled, rumors run rampant about her children, she’s hung in effigy for a little Halloween fun and games. She’s a woman, she’s not black – so that’s cool, right?
Have no worries, America. Reverse-racism is alive and well. And hey, kudos to Obama for playing it for all it’s worth and then some. Don’t hate the player, hate the game. Apparently, affirmative action can carry him all the way to the oval office.
But hey, if our country can withstand 8 years borderline retarded incompetence, Barack can’t do much worse
Only the media really shouldn’t be patting themselves on the back. As long as the Clintons were still in the game, race-baiting actually returned full force and en vogue for a bit. And it very nearly cost Obama the nomination – and had the die been cast earlier, we’d probably be looking at 8 more years of another tech boom, to stabilize the country throughout 8 more years of Clinton shenanigans.
Would America be better off with McCain? Who knows? But at least we know who McCain is and where he stands.
As for Obama, only he knows best. So the press should obediently jump back aboard the bus, while the future President of the United States runs down the street, apparently frightened by a rogue photographer.
You’d think that image alone would give the public pause – if they’d ever seen it. It probably would have obliterated Dukakis manning his tank.
But let’s not shatter the illusion. We’ll just wait until he gets in office – because academically and theoretically speaking, based entirely on presumptions, Obama is the change we can believe in.
And McCain is simply a senile old white man standing in the way of that historic triumph. So off with his head.
Let’s just all pray Obama wins – or we may find out how much damage rampant racism can actually do to this country.
Sorry to go off-topic – but SNL has sucked for years, plus I’m nodding off for a nap. You seem to be one of the very few who haven’t capitulated to this nonsense.

Sounds like you have been asleep while the rest of America tries to be ONE AMERICA, but guess you missed that part and woke up back in the 60′s in the hateful, spiteful era.
Maybe you can take a nap for the next 8 years, cause it is going to be a GREAT WONDERFUL ride into a BETTER FUTURE than your Republicans and old man McCain, or idiot Palin could have given us… Really is that the best the Republicans can offer?? Nighty Night…

Obama was afraid to do SNL. If he had done the show, people would have seen that THERE IS NOTHING THERE. He could have gone on the show and asked people to help the storm victims, but noooooooooo. It’s going to be funny watching the media get shut out by Obama if the worst happens and he does get elected. God help us all. McCain/Palin 08 for the sake of our country.

What a class act that McCain. His cork up the … opponent wouldn’t do that under the circumstances that McCain finds himself in. In fact, the humorless O-man wouldn’t do it under any circumstances. Good luck, America. You made your choice. Now live with it.

I hope McCain wins. Four years of a rapidly aging Obama, his scripts, and theatrics, as well as the attendant fawning media while he learns on the job — would be too much to take. Please nation, don’t vote Obama out of panic. Things will improve.

One more thing, delusional koolaid drinkers. Obama is MOST DIVISIVE national politician to show up on the American landscape since the founding fathers hammered out the Constitution. Don’t think so? It’s the koolaid. But out of compassion for you, I recommend that you keep feeding your habit. Because if you decide to go cold turkey and forego the magic elixir, you will begin experiencing the nightmare that many of your fellow Americans are already experiencing.

McCain all the way! May God in His mercy kick the likes of Obama to the curb. The man is a puppet with hundreds of advisors. Can you imagine him as President of the United States during a crisis having to gather them all together for advice? By the time there was some sort consenus on what to do in the crisis, the U.S. would have been nuked and buried.

SNL QVC was the best smack down on Obama’s glutten spending, (breaking his campaign spending promise).
The blank commemorative plates for the 10 town hall meetings Obama ran like a chicken from. Priceless.
Do you think the base of Obama is smart enough to understand how sliced , diced, and served up that show left Obama?

Too bad Barack Obama doesn’t have a sense of humor. I guess you’d have had to have a life to have humor. McCain’s had that life and more.

Can you imagine JFK on SNL? FDR? Ike? Didn’t Richard Nixon start this national tv dumbing down of the President?
It is incredible to think of it, but we will probably be electing the most powerful leader in the world based on what? Guest shots on comedy shows? Maybe Chris Rock’s got a write-in shot.

Jack, if I acknowledge your argument that McCain/Palin is the ticket with substance and Obama/Biden have none, then I’d think that McCain and Palin would focus and truthfully campaign more on the issues Americans care about to truly differentiate themselves from Obama and the Democrats, and also GW Bush. Jack, you’ve missed it…the last 8 years haven’t been so great for our country, our economy, or our national confidence. We’ve been transformed into a nation of cynics, and now Obama is asking us to once again hope. McCain, entirely missing the point, is trying to scare people about what might happen if Obama is elected…he’s a muslim…he’s a terrorist…he’s a socialist and he’s gonna take away your 401k…he’s going to raise middle class taxes. All the while, people are hearing Obama talk about what Obama is going to do. And you say he lacks substance? If he lacks any substance, McCain should worry less about Obama and more about impressing Americans about his vision for the future. So you maintain your loyalty to a man who is relying on the same Rove-ian tactics he was once humiliated by, and can only focus on fear. Me, and many others choose hope.

But back to the subject at hand: McCain’s “performance” just served as a reminder that men his age should be in bed dreaming of the good old days, long before the air-time of shows like SNL! I give him credit for actually participating (contrary to the stand-in act that Sarah Palin did) but no wonder SNL had to draft Tina Fey, once again, to save the skit! McCain isn’t funny, not when he’s trying to be, and especially not when he’s trying to win the post of Commander-in-Chief in real life with a dufus like Palin at his side.

Wow. Look at all the sour grapes from you McCain people? Looks like a wine maker’s convention. Just shut your yaps and vote. Whoever wins, wins. but calling Obama “hitler” or positing that he’ll appoint himself Emperor is ridiculous – look up the definition of “Radical” and you’ll see why all of these psyche games are getting you labeled the “Radical Right.”
I guess the most amusing thing out of that camp so far though is accusing Obama of being divisive. Need I recall confused republicans accusing Obama of being a Muslim or “Paling around with Terrorist?” What about the free ride McCain has gotten with some of his ‘associations’?

the mccain ‘fine gold’ bit was brilliant, especially with cindy as the model! that being said, it did not change my belief about whether or not sen. mccain should lead this country. it’s nice to see that he has a sense of humor about the campaign, but that doesn’t make him the leader this country needs.
on the other hand, perhaps he and cindy have a future on qvc…?

We’re certainly going to get what we deserve in this election. We’ve systematically reduced our willingness (and with union-weakened schools’ help, our ability) to think critically. So now we mindlessly gobble up whatever the network activists decide to spoon feed us – as long as there are clips and sound bites that look and sound presidential and make us feel good. Well, for those of you not drooling on yourselves, please think about how many brave people have fought and sacrificed for hundreds of years to give us the rights we enjoy. They will be charmingly be taken from us, but they will be gone nonetheless. And if by some wild stroke of luck this country is not offered up entirely to the third world on the platter of the UN, it will take us decades to figure out how such a noble cause rotted so quickly into the most expensive lotto ticket we ever bet on – and lost. Please think. Surely, this country has tough challenges before it. But we can’t spend our way out them… and we certainly can’t afford to gamble on an eloquent talking head who looks and sounds good, but who’s biggest accomplishment (with the media’s substantial help) is not stepping in any political poop… yet.

Brenda: Are you talking about Bush?
“CIVILIAN Security Force?”
Look at the huge number of civilian security contractors used in Iraq.
“People he doesn’t agree with kicked out of press conferences?”
Bush has pretty much appointed yes men to every office he can, rather than people who actually look at what’s going on and make an informed decision.
“Digging into people’s personal records to find dirt?”
See the whole Bush CIA leak thing. Also the leak of Obama’s aunt’s immigration status, which wasn’t a matter of public record.
“Allowing illegals to take residence in and welfare from this country?”
Certainly been a lot of illegals living in this country over the last 8 years. No one’s had more power to change this than Bush. Not doing so is basically allowing it, no?
“Saying ‘I can change the world?’”
I’d say declaring war on “terror” across the world is an attempt to change it, no?

The name calling posters must be under the age 12. As they don’t seem to understand that in America we can disagree without being called names. However, they are the perfect example of WHY Obama is not right for this country. As Obama has incited this country into hate with his directive to argue and get into peoples faces if they dare to disagree with him. Sounds like the Marxist he is.

The tactic was obvious. It didn’t have anything to do with having a sense of humor, etc. The SNL viewership is primarily liberal, and MaCain had nothing to lose and something quite real to gain. It is clear that the only reason Obama would be on SNL is to block McCain, but one can construe that as either good sportsmanship on Obama’s part or his realization that McCain’s political ploy was a act of desperation. Hopefully the majority of SNL viewers see it this way too. As for me, it seemed a little pathetic for McCain, in the face of early returns, to deem it necessary to put on a comic’s mask in order to appeal to those who form their poliical/moral philosophy via SNL.

So sad to see Americans act like complete and total idiots. When we need to unite to make a better future for our country. When we need to solve our selfish appetite for foreign oil. When we need to unite to produce a better means of transportation. When we forget what we are leaving for our children to cope with. When we need to unite to show the world that somehow democracy and capitalism is the best show on the road to this date. When we need to unite to somehow solve the ecology problems that we face. When we need to come together what do we see? A lot of the garbage above. It is equally divided between the great political parties of our times. The Republicans and Democrats. We need to unite and somehow find a better way than being divisive. Our future demands it. Our children demand it. Selfishness defeats it. Where did all for one and one for all go? We know it is not living in Iceland, or Russia, or does it even survive in America? For the Religious, God bless America. For the atheists, Long Live America. For our children. Somehow I hope we have America in our future.

I am totally baffled and saddened by the stealing of Jesus by the religious right and the loss of reasoning ability of at least half of Americans. The way I was taught in Sunday School was that Jesus preached love and understanding of ALL others. The people I see who rabidly support Palin and McCain are mean and hate-filled. I don’t get it. It is also weird that we say that we want our children educated and then when they are, and especially if they succeed like Obama has, we label them elitist and humor-less.If we step back and look at what our country represents to others in the world right now, I would be grim as well. It is not a time to be handing our country over to folks who are not very intelligent.

Let’s raise taxes on the people who spend the most money, hire the most people, and already pay the most taxes via sales tax. Let’s ignore the personal responsibility everyone has to not buy themselves a BMW, or their kids $200 jeans and couch purses, when they scream that they cannot afford healthcare. Think it’s hard getting a liver, try getting one in France or any other country with socialistic tendencies. Tax the rich, feed the poor is a romantic notion, the only problem is it doesn’t work. If everyone gets a free cell phone, food, education, and shelter, then where is the incentive for anyone to do anything? Socialism/communism doesn’t work people, it’s been proven over and over again. We are supposed to take care of ourselves and each other. The government is supposed to protect our right to do so, not give us hand outs. “Ask not what your country can do for you”, the only problem is that Americans increasingly get this backwards. Welfare and all the other socialist programs were meant to be a temperary fix for the great depression, now it has become something expected by people who can vote, but do not even know the 3 branches of government. Have some personal responsibility. Who doesn’t want a eutopian life/society? I know I do, but I also know this isn’t a fairy tale. Life is cruel and the standards that we have let slip will do us in if people won’t educate themselves and take some personal responsibility to learn about how the world works. With no incentive otherwise, we would all just lay around and get drunk like the Russians and every other sucker who had to live with socialism, which is exactly where we are headed. The country is messed up enough people, let’s not screw it up even more by willingly hopping on the slippery slope of socialism.

What’s wrong with a flat tax? 10-15% of everyone’s income. Why is no one screaming about this? Instead we are going to tax the people who spend the most money and hire the most people. That is not a good idea. Here is a perfect example of how the slippery slope works. Obama taxes all the mean, evil rich people and corporations, they in turn spend less and less money, hire less and less people, and ultimately have tp raise the prices on their services. So, the government has to get even more involved and force them to adjust their prices or something equally as ridiculous. That fixes the problem but creates a new one that the government has to step in to take care of. Less government people, not more. What is the last thing the government ran properly. Now you want them in charge of everything? You want going to the doctor to be like going to the DMV? Do some research, things that sound too good to be true usually are.

I am residing in France right now and must say I know several people, including my baker, who have had transplants even though they could not afford one. I hope for your sake no one you love (including yourself)ever needs one in the us if they don’t have insurance. America we are selfless
Before you vote you need to realize that what we are going through is bigger than any president or party, or America itself. It is called globalization. The world economy is becoming one.
As the economy grows in undeveloped countries (China, India, Brazil and Africa, ¾ of the worlds population) it will shrink in developed countries (US, the EU, Russia.) Over a period of time our wages and cost of living will go down and theirs will go up as it is doing now. Call it leveling the playing field. It has been happening over the last fifteen years and we can not stop it. When it is leveled there will be a demand for us to start to manufacture products again.
We have two choices. We can opt out and let the world go on with out us. That would be a big mistake. Or we can fight it and lose our edge. But it will happen with or without us.
Under Bush the market was driven by credit that keep up our lifestyle. Basically we spent more then we made to keep up our life style. The derivates were the straw that broke the back. This we will recover from in due time.
The blue collar manufacturing class is gone it will not come back until wages level out world wide. As wages decrease the cost of living will too. We can always manufacture a product but we have to have a market that has the money to buy it. As in the past America produces 45% more then it can consume so we need the worlds market.
McCain sees this and Obama doesn’t
McCain wants a freeze on taxes and government services to rein in spending.
Obama wants to isolate us through reducing free trade, tax corporations which slows growth, create social programs, grow government, and let our Children, Grand children, and great grand children to deal with it.
We happen to be the richest market but not the only one. It will happen whether we like it or not. We need to take the hit now. The market will adjust, our life style will change and our children have a better life.

McCain’s appearance on SNL was extremely disturbing. Obviously, 18-29 year olds make up the core audience. They are expected to turn out in record numbers to vote overwhelmingly for Obama.
McCain did not give them reasons to vote for himself, instead he tried to make politics itself look ridiculous. The aim was to get millions of young people not to vote. Why bother going to the polls and spending three hours waiting in line if politics is just a silly game and everybody involved just laughs about it no matter who wins?
Obama’s message is that we have to take politics seriously and it does matter who wins. McCain’s message is just the opposite, who cares who wins, just go out and smoke another joint.
The skit was based on the lie that McCain’s campaign is poor and Obama’s is rich. While his campaign is legally limited to spending $82,000,000, he has been given uncounted millions from the Republican Party and other Special Intererest Groups like the NRA and anti-abortion groups who are targeting Obama
I have been receiving four or five pieces of full colored, slick advertisements in the mail everyday this week labeling Obama as a terrorist, socialist and tax raiser. This is an extremely expensive advertising. He has outspent Obama in this. He has also done expensive, disgusting low-road robo-calling campaigns in every state where he is competitive.
Conservative SNL which attacked Obama constantly during the primaries and helped Hillary Clinton win several of them also had on skits vicously attacking (without any apparent satire)two shows, “The View” and “Countdown,” two shows that have been critical of Obama. It is sad that rich Lorne Michaels, the super wealthy owner of SNL is allowed to use SNL to help the McCaine campaign with millions of dollars of free publicity.

This whole comedy series began because of the many easy opportunities presented by Sarah Palin for humor, and her resemblance to the very talented Tina Fey. Then the McCain camp, via Palin, asked to come on SNL. This culmunated last night with Senator McCain’s appearance.
Consistently, throughout this comedy series, the humor has been directed towards Palin, until McCain brought himself in.
Although Obama may have enjoyed this comedy series, as many Americans did, he had no role to play in it. There was no reason for SNL to invite him on the show, and certainly no reason for Obama to invite himself.
Indeed, writing in Palin was hard enough, and I thought that was the worst segment of this highly impromptu, but excellent, series.

Excuse the typo in my previous post. “The View” and “Countdown” have been critical of McCain and that is why Lorne Michael’s SNL witlessly and bitterly attacked them last night.

However, I’m taxed more than I can believe right now and if B.O. gets in even more of my pay will be eaten up. Why? So he can give to those who choose not to work or choose not to train for a better career or those who continue to have kids in order to receive more welfare money. Guess what? I didn’t spend 5 years of my life in school while raising a child on my own and pull more all nighters than I care to remember just so I can feed everyone else! I do believe that everyone should have the same opportunities as the next person and they are out there. The obstacles may be greater for some than others but when you want something you will do whatever it takes to get it. Its a cop out to hear “I’m a single mom” or “I don’t have the money,” blah, blah, blah. I’m almost 200,000 in debt from my education. I didn’t have any handouts. Not one. That’s what America is looking for: a handout. And all these great plans for “change?” Wait till we are in more debt than we already are. How does B.O. plan to do all that? Raise taxes! He is so indecisive it makes me sick. He changes his agenda depending on what group he is talking to. Make up your mind! He sure does know a lot about change..that’s all he does within that small mind of his! If you care about this country DON’T BELIEVE THE HYPE. B.O. IS JUST WHAT HIS NAME SUGGESTS: HE STINKS! And don’t forget that this country’s woes are not only Bush’s fault. There are other branches of government that contribute to the laws and governing of our country. B.O. HAS NO EXPERIENCE. 4 years as a senator and 2 of those spent campaigning. FOR ALL OF YOU UNDECIDED: VOTE MCCAIN!!!!!

I sure wish we had someone like Davy Crockett to vote for – just read his story about his stand on gov’t handouts and compare it to the 700b bailout
Horatio Bunce we could sure use more of you today…

The tactic was obvious. It didn’t have anything to do with having a sense of humor, etc. The SNL viewership is primarily liberal, and McCain had nothing to lose and something quite real to gain. It is clear that the only reason Obama would be on SNL is to block McCain, but one can construe his absence as either good sportsmanship or his realization that McCain’s political ploy was just an act of desperation. Hopefully the majority of SNL viewers see it this way too. As for me, it seemed a little pathetic for McCain, in the face of early returns, to deem it necessary to put on a comic’s mask in order to appeal to those who form their political/moral philosophy via SNL.

Calipari writes, “What’s wrong with a flat tax? 10-15% of everyone’s income. Why is no one screaming about this?”
====================================
I don’t see any problem with it as long as all other tax “breaks” are equal. Simply put, those who earn more won’t get ONE tax break more than those who earn less. (We’ll see how long it takes before they start screaming about how they provide jobs and are STILL paying more taxes 15%)
Calipari writes, “Instead we are going to tax the people who spend the most money and hire the most people. That is not a good idea.”
===============================
It sounds like you believe these people and corporations should be REWARDED for providing jobs when the fact is the EMPLOYEES they hire are the fuel to the machine they created. At the end of the day PROFITS are made, shareholders are paid and the EMPLOYEES are giving whopping 3% pay increases regardless of PROFITS earned. Yes, they should pay MORE in order to EARN those profits. A perfect example would be Exxon. Billions of dollars in profits and I’d bet the average employee got NOTHING in terms of a raise, etc. When they talk about TRICKLE down economics they mean it LITERALLY.
Calipari writes, “Here is a perfect example of how the slippery slope works. Obama taxes all the mean, evil rich people and corporations, they in turn spend less and less money, hire less and less people, and ultimately have tp raise the prices on their services.”
===============================
People have been trying to SELL that nonsense for decades. Jobs are lost due to companies trying to become more efficicent, not tax dollars. So your example ISN’T perfect at all. As proof I offer the following. Take the Pharmaceutical industry. Right now they are laying off thousands of sales people despite profits and financial standing. Why is that? As you can see, it has NOTHING to do with the example you profided as a “perfect” example.
Calipari writes, “So, the government has to get even more involved and force them to adjust their prices or something equally as ridiculous.”
================================
What is with you faux-conservatives. The government can’t tell anyone what they can charge for anything UNLESS the entity received government dollars. If you want to government dollar, you accept what they pay. Ask a physician if you have any doubts.
Calipari writes, “Less government people, not more.”
===========================
Typical conservative mumbo jumbo. It’s all talk. Maybe you would like to take a stab at DEFINING less government. I’m always tickled by folks who toss that out without ever DEFINING it.

Typical mumbo jumbo by uniformed faux-conservatives. What’s a faux-conservative? Folks who vote Republican who can’t actually AFFORD to be one.
By the way, your information is incorrect. Like many uninformed faux-conservatives, you seem to forget Obama was a State Legistlator for the state of Illinois for 7+ years before becoming a U.S. Senator. You folks would be a car with one wheel if the Republicans told you it would get better gas mileage. (lol)

Sarah Palin is a model for our daughters. She has achieved what women proclaim to have been fighting for since the 60s. She is accomplished, a working mother, governor, and most of all, a woman who despite being beautiful, does not rely on sex appeal to make her case. She has graciously fended off her attackers, and empowers all girls to know that they can do anything.
In response to the liver statement- My brother lived in Paris, and died in Paris waiting for a liver. My 65 year-old mother received a liver within 6 months here in the States. Talk about what you have experienced with facts, not what you think you observed while visiting France, and don’t accuse people of having a “wicked vision” of the world or whatever you said. Here’s another reality based on facts; A review of Obama’s short voting record in the Senate reveals the most liberal Senator in history, Biden is right behind him. They are both extreme liberals, Palin is an extreme conservative. The most moderate person on either ticket is John McCain. You cannot mix greed with socialism. The banks were pressured to give loans to people who did not qualify, then the interests rates were raised. This is why one should be required to qualify for loans, because people are greedy. With capitalism, greed polices itself which is why one should be required to “qualify”. With socialism there is no way to police greed, which makes for an explosive mixture, and is the reason that it will not benefit America as we know it.
Less Government means less involvement on their part in every phase of our lives. Obama wants exactly the opposite, he wants the Government to provide health care, and to “resdistribute the wealth”, which is an exact Marxist quote from his manifesto. Other liberals suggest putting a cap on Capitalism, I don’t believe the Government should be able to tell Fred Smith that in their opinion he has made enough money and we are going to arbitrarily “re-distribute” what we deem as excess. These corporations should be given incentives to do what Fred Smith does. He provides great health care and pays for employees college education. He doesn’t have to do this, he shouldn’t be forced to do this. He does it because he can and wants to, and others should be given reason to follow suit. You can accomplish, through capitalism, anything you can through socialism, and more.

Sarah Palin is a liar.
The Troopergate Report found she abused the power of her public office repeatedly in attempts to get her ex-brother-in-law fired.
Palin consistently lied and said the report cleared her of any abuse of power. Direct lie.
Someone with this thin a grip on reality and such ease with obvious lying is not the change we need.
Yawn… just awoke from my nap. Uhm… looks like I woke up in Obama’s Hooville with the ONE AMERICA comment. Here’s to hoping McGrinch doesn’t steal the star off your li’l belly there on Tuesday. Back to enjoying my Sunday. I could care less who wins – it’s all the same either way – just disturbed by Li’l Bo Bama and the silly little sheep. But again, after 8 years of Bush – can’t get any worse – then there’s Jimmy Kotta. But oh well – back to work. I gotta get back to lazing around so the folks what work can spread that wealth around to me and my merry men.

This was fun, it was my first time blogging or chatting or whatever. This is what makes America great, we can sit here and express our opinions. It is cliche, but cliche’s are cliche’s because they are true. You cannot do this in a large part of our planet. It was fun and interesting bludgeoning you over the head with my opinion and being bludgeoned by yours, but it is now time for football! Ask not, what your Country can do for you…..cliche, but cliche’s are cliche’s becauahhhh, laters.
It was fun, and I allways respect the McCain of the 2000 campaign.
But politics is a serious matter. To quote some famous word:
“With great power comes great responsibility”
His VP pick and his tax cuts are the most irresponsible act in American history. Nothing against Palin, but the though of having her as President is just to scary.
Oh, John Grisham served in the MS congress (senator or representative, not sure, who cares) – he wrote a few books, too – but a bit more entertaining than Obama’s. Maybe he should run for prez. I think his political leanings are pretty liberal, so the press should love him. But he’s not a black man who disowns other blacks at the drop of a hat – so guess he wouldn’t have the same appeal.

I find it amazing that the Obama supporters ignore all the truth and write it as they want it to be. Yes, Obama served 7 years in the State Legislature. Though he himself did nothing. Voted present. If you don’t look at the facts and the records now you will be singing the blues before the end of next year. There are too many questions aroung Obama that he refuses to answer and this is the biggest factor in showing just how deceiving he is. How can Americans close their eyes to these truths. Living in the land of denial will not make your lives better.
Awesome John McCain. He is the right president elect for America. He is responsible and going to move the country in the right direction.
You are the man and Sarah is the woman. She is no idiot at all. She is wise beyond her years. If she is an idiot so is Obama.

“I find it amazing that the Obama supporters ignore all the truth and write it as they want it to be. ”
No. It’s McCain who ignore the truth. The truth is the economic mess we are in.
McCain failed the test during the crisis. Obama reacted calm and consulted with his advisers. McCain yelled something new each day.
We need a conservative fiscal program, we can’t afford irresponsible tax cuts, even his chief economic adviser is against any tax cuts.
Obama is a wolf in sheeps clothing just waiting to devour each of us for his own personal gain. He has done nothing for this country in all of his life and he now intends to rule over us??????? Please all you Obama supporters out there name one thing SPECIFICALLY that he has done other than give speeches.
Oh, I am not a sefish person, and I give more than my fair share. I in fact have given more to those in need than Obama or Biden and I make MAYBE 1/3 of what they make. So please don’t make a virtue out of spreading the wealth. We have what we need in this country to go further than any other country. We have the resources, yet if we don’t seek them out we have no one to blame but ourselves. Oh, by the way George Bush didn’t ask or make anyone take out loans, gather credit cards and get any of us into debt. WE THE PEOPLE DID THAT ON OUR OWN. If you must blame someone then blame the DEMS as they pushed this and deceived the AMERICAN PEOPLE. Do any of you realize that when Pelosi took the Speaker seat she and her DEM friends voted themselves a pay raise and payed for it by raising our taxes and causeing taxes to be raised on those who receive SS and MEDICARE, by 150.00 more a month. NOW THAT IS WHAT YOU HAVE TO LOOK FORWARD TO. GET REAL AMERICA YOU ARE ACCEPTING THE BIGGEST SNOW JOB IN HISTORY if you belive Obama and Biden really care about you or this country.
Great McCain. You are entertaining and so wise. You aren’t Bush and aren’t hard right, you are middle of the line, able to work with the congress. This is just what America needs. Obama is hard left and his voting record shows it. He is less than a world leader with a major lack in experience. We are in for a depression is Obama gets in so everyone support McCain on November 4th.
McCain/Palin 2008!!!
Posted by: James | November 2, 2008, 1:31 pm 1:31 pm
CLabs, you are so wrong about the chief advisory for McCain. It sounds as though you watch those who suppress the truth and call the lies the truth. As I said rewriting the truth to fit themselves. Biggest snow job in our history.
Obama is not one forth the man McCain is…never will be..President or not. He can keep his fake seal, fake presidential set, trying to buy the election or have Acorn steal it. What a desperate man. All just to get a foot in the White House..once he’s there (God forbid and help us all if he’s elected)He will be his true self. Radical, anti American, extreme left, continue his associations and milk everyone for money. Very dangerous in sheeps clothing. No one has anyone to blame except for themselves. Think people–vote for a true American and hero. John Sydney McCain…not Barack Hussein Obama!
Ray, You are so right in what you say! It is one of the most intelligent comments I’ve seen on a political blog this week. Might I add …it is to our gain to vote for McCain.
Mature
Courageous
Conservative
American Veteran
Integrity
National Security
McCain is mature enough to be a father figure to someone Obama’s age, by nearly a quarter century. When McCain was entering his forties, Obama was only a teenager of 16. When the inexperienced are elevated too high and too fast, pride can overcome good judgment. Silver haired wisdom is more equipped to lead and protect the security of our national interest.
In contrast:
Other Priorities
Bogus
Another Agenda
Mixed Message
A Risk
It’s safer to stay in the right lane with McCain
Faithful,
I’m a hardworking person, I don’t believe government can’t fix all problems. But my problems with voting for McCain is expressed precisely in the the Economist’s endorsement for Obama.
“If only the real John McCain had been running
That, however, was Senator McCain; the Candidate McCain of the past six months has too often seemed the victim of political sorcery, his good features magically inverted, his bad ones exaggerated. The fiscal conservative who once tackled Mr Bush over his unaffordable tax cuts now proposes not just to keep the cuts, but to deepen them. The man who denounced the religious right as “agents of intolerance” now embraces theocratic culture warriors. The campaigner against ethanol subsidies (who had a better record on global warming than most Democrats) came out in favour of a petrol-tax holiday. It has not all disappeared: his support for free trade has never wavered. Yet rather than heading towards the centre after he won the nomination, Mr McCain moved to the right.”
Yeah, that’s all it was…a INFOMERCIAL! Dont waste your time listening to McCain’s CRAP!!
Obama/Biden 2008!!! For a BETTER America!

clabs, you are right Government can’t fix all the problems, and it isn’t suppose to. As for McCain, he isn’t soft on his values or his positions. Thsy have strengthened during this campaign and have been more defined. You mention his faith, well if you are a faith person, then be assured that after meeting with Billy Graham that it was found that he sound in his faith. Unlike Obama who no response on his faith was given. I don’t know if you are ignoring the facts or hoping they will change. Obama is not who respresents and you only need to listen to his constant changing of his mind to realize how untruthful he is. McCain may not be all things to all people, but he is the stronger of the two and will not put his own interest before his country. Never has, Never will. He isn’t soft, He has the strength of character and the strength of experience and record, which Obama does not. Are you aware that questions remain about Obama’s birth certificate?? Too much unanswered, too much hidden, too many lies. Though you may feel McCain is soft, he is not a deceiver. Are you saying you would rather believe a deception/lie rather than trust and have faith in a man who has proven himself? Are you ready to be deceived and not regret it? Are you ready to give up your constitutional right to freedom of speech? Are you inclined to support those who chose not to work because they can get free money? Answer those questions before Tuesday, with truth in mind and not the propaganda of Obama. Remember, even Biden said Obama is a fraud before he became the running mate. Hillary said the same. Ignore the truth and you will be deceived.
Faithfull,
Yes, I think every person is responsible for his or her own future.
But what I really dislike are these right-winged bible belt NeoCon “God is on our side” BS. It’s a pity that McCain cave in to these nutcases.
Yes, I’m going to vote for Obama. He is liberal, but anything except another 4 more years of the same..
clab,
you can bash the Bible believers all you want, yet at least we know where we stand and don’t fall for those who seek to deceive us. And as for McCain, he didn’t cave, he chose to stand firm in his faith and belife’s. Which ofcourse the double talking Obama can’t.
Again, you have been deceived and will blame others when it doesn’t go your way.
I am proud to be a Jesus believer and follower. As it keeps me standing firm and my integrity in tact.
Good luck in your decision and I do pray that you do not get what you want.
Have a great day and at least pray before you submit your vote. God Bless you
I would really like to have seen SNL expose the swiss bank accounts of Obama and his estate holdings in France.
The Ojet will be off in a whiff.
Everyone is going to have to have a safe place to go, when they roll over the border into Mexico from South America.
That would be a funny funny exposure of the real ObamaNation we will live in.
To Sad Sharon Porter, you are generalizing about politics and religion, and apparently biblically baffled also. Your Sunday School Jesus has not been stolen as you claim. And, your unreasonably mean comment about McCain being unintelligent reveals your own elitism and lack of understanding. Tough love to you in Jesus, Cheer up :-)
Not bad. Not bad. And talking about comedy, have you heard that the Canadian comedy duo who pranked Sarah will be interviewed on the CBS morning show. Should be good. I’d like to hear how they pulled it off.
Thanks editoiLori, I appreciate you.
For all you Obamanites here:
Remember that an unknown con artist is running for the presidency, one who hides and denies the truth at every turn. Your Mesiah, you say, well He is a radical and the facts will not under any circumstance change that fact. As an old saying goes: He speaks with a fork tongue. You may want to be fooled, but most of don’t.
As for the war in Iraq, it is better to have victory than lose, as lose will be seen as weakness aroung the world. We can not afford that.
Too much immaturity, too much blindness.
I would rather die for my country than for it to be given over to those who seek to harm us. Did you forget that WE were attacked????? How short the memory of those who are losers.
GO MAC.
How can you vote for someone who thinks they are God or maybe better?
Obama has button that is a large penny with Obama on it instead of Lincoln and the words ‘In Obama We Trust’. He replaces himself for GOD. Christian people would not do that.
why is this world so filled with hate? everthing i read about Mccain supporters left a very bad taste in my mouth. cant you understand that with mccain in office there will be another 4 years of the same? don’t we deserve better, don’t our children deserve better? yes i am a Obama supporter and i have never been prouder. we want to act like this race is not about race but, we all no better. if Obama was a white man mccain would have had to droped out of the race a long time ago. and thats the honest truth.

Let’s see what Obama does not know about …
He did not know that his Auntie, Zeituni Onyango, was in the United States illegally or even what her immigration status is. A smart lawyer like him?
He did not know that his pastor and personal & family mentor, Rev. Jerimiah Wright, hated white people and the United States of America and spewed hate speech about both from the pulpit in the church he attended for 20 years. A smart church-going man like him?
He did not know that the person that hosted a political party for him, William Ayers, was a unrepentant terrorist, and 60′s radical that is now working the educational system from the inside, brainwashing our children in his socialistic, middle-class hating ways. A well-read man like him?
He does not know that “spreading the wealth” means socialism, and socialism has not worked anywhere it has been tried … at any time. Really? … a smart man like him?
He does not know that allowing the existing tax cuts to expire in 2010 means tax increases. Oh, he know this all right … he’s just playing word games.
He does not know that having the government take over our entire country’s health care system will be a disaster, and that the quality and availablilty of health care will get much, much worse. A smart, well-read “citizen of the world” like him?
He does not know that raising taxes in a reccession is the worst possible thing you can do for an economy. The economic master-mind he is?
He does not know that worst thing you can do is heavily tax the people that hire other people for jobs in their businesses, both large & small. Somebody has to hire people and pay them wages. We can not all get checks from the government for not working. Somebody’s got to actually go to work Monday through Friday, and actually contribute those hard-earned tax dollars he just wants to spread around. A smart man like him does not know this?
He does not know just how many “Joe the Plumbers” there are out here in America that are going to vote for John McCain on Tuesday (but he’s going to find out).
If he is so smart, how come he doesn’t know these things?

I believe that there is great wisdom and common sense to be found in the following words (which I already know were not said by A. Lincoln, but are wise nonetheless):
You cannot bring prosperity by discouraging thrift.
You cannot help small men by tearing down big men.
You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.
You cannot lift the wage earner by pulling down the wage payer.
You cannot help the poor man by destroying the rich.
You cannot keep out of trouble by spending more than your income.
You cannot further brotherhood of men by inciting class hatred.
You cannot establish security on borrowed money.
You cannot build character and courage by taking away man’s initiative and independence.
You cannot help men permanently by doing for them what they could and should do for themselves.

I laughed a lot during this SNL.
-I thought the the comments we make are about the SNL BUT I see that a lot of people have gotten off subject and started to purge propaganda that has be drilled into heads.
I am a christian but I still don’t feel confident in McCain or Obama. The lesser of two evils is who I will pick.
-I feel that vets are entitled to better care that the VA is incompetent to do and I feel that All Americans should be entitled to healthcare insurance. what does religion have to do with that? -I am a Contract employee of the Naval Medical Center in VA and I work closely with returning warriors that are not able to leave the battle in the battlefield..When will we know that the war was won… somethings has go to give. If military spending is frozen or cut I am looking at unemployment and home foreclosure. I pray daily but the lord gave us free will so lets acknowledge that our issues are not to big for us to handle,
As we’re closing in on election day – just wondering, Jake, if you’ve noticed how Obama has recaptured his “post racial” appeal having captured the nomination.

Obama and his camp is like walking into a restaurant and seeing an odd , tacky, ostentacious, dresser who really believes they look good.
Remember the image of the the crazed guy in the last scene in scarface? The cocaine all over his face, is like money all over Obama.
Seeing Auntie’s legs sticking out from under the bus leaves more great material for SNL.
Dems are proud of this representative race card……I mean really proud of their candidate….Kennedy with the 57 state speech candidate pie all over his face…….Priceless.

Bush 41 was a liberal (4 years)
Clinton was a liberal (8 years) and
Bush 43 is a liberal (8 years).
Its time for a conservative in the White House … but wait we don’t have one on the ballot do we.

the mccain ‘fine gold’ bit was brilliant, especially with cindy as the model! that being said, it did not change my belief about whether or not sen. mccain should lead this country. it’s nice to see that he has a sense of humor about the campaign, but that doesn’t make him the leader this country needs.
on the other hand, perhaps he and cindy have a future on qvc…?

And what has that done to the middle class? McCain does, he’s on record – and it has destroyed and gutted this country. Why did we invade Iraq again?

Interesting comment about “getting a liver transplant” in France. I am residing in France right now and must say I know several people, including my baker, who have had transplants even though they could not afford one. I hope for your sake no one you love (including yourself)ever needs one in the us if they don’t have insurance. My wife was kicked out of the hospital still bleeding from kidney stone operation, in a wheel chair, because her insurance refused to pay for a room.

I just received a master’s degree this year, am a health professional, and make a great income.

Calipari writes, “What’s wrong with a flat tax? 10-15% of everyone’s income. Why is no one screaming about this?”
====================================
===============================
===============================
================================
What is with you faux-conservatives. The government can’t tell anyone what they can charge for anything UNLESS the entity received government dollars. If you want to government dollar, you accept what they pay. Ask a physician if you have any doubts.
Calipari writes, “Less government people, not more.”

Typical conservative mumbo jumbo. It’s all talk. Maybe you would like to take a stab at DEFINING less government. I’m always tickled by folks who toss that out without ever DEFINING it.

Brooke2808 writes, “B.O. HAS NO EXPERIENCE. 4 years as a senator and 2 of those spent campaigning. FOR ALL OF YOU UNDECIDED: VOTE MCCAIN!!!!!”
================================

Posted by: Faithful | November 2, 2008, 1:28 pm 1:28 pm
Great McCain. You are entertaining and so wise. You aren’t Bush and aren’t hard right, you are middle of the line, able to work with the congress. This is just what America needs. Obama is hard left and his voting record shows it. He is less than a world leader with a major lack in experience. We are in for a depression is Obama gets in so everyone support McCain on November 4th.
McCain/Palin 2008!!!

Yet rather than heading towards the centre after he won the nomination, Mr McCain moved to the right.”

clabs, you are right Government can’t fix all the problems, and it isn’t suppose to.
