Obama’s popular vote total was 63.7 million, the most ever received by a presidential candidate. There are still millions of votes left to be counted, so Obama’s vote total will increase.
I would say people are very happy that he was elected. Sorry no idiots here.
I think Obama will be a tough president – much stronger than many of his opponents expect him to be. And he will eventually win over even his strongest critics.
He’s got a monumental challenge ahead of him, but I believe he’s prepared and will excel!

I didn’t think I would have had to say this anymore, but tree-of-life still doesn’t get it.
President Bush’s term is up. You and your “120 million” didn’t “overthrow” anything. Meaning that America had to elect a NEW president.
If you want unity, act like it. This is nothing other than a new boss, same as the old boss. Quit trying to make it into something more.
Obama was elected for his personality and charisma. All day long every news station was trying to decide how or what he will do. They all admitted they know nothing about him. Pretty scary when you think of it.
Boxcar almost nobody supports Bush. His approval rating is below 30% and has been for a long time. I would suspect Cheney’s approval rating is even lower.
Along came Sarah…we love her …
For all of the Sarah Palin fans who don’t think she was a big reason for McCain’s loss, I just heard the following from FOX news. Apparently this was all known during the campaign but it was “off the record” until after the election.
Palin did not know which countries are in NAFTA
Palin did not know that Africa was a continent
Palin refused to be “coached” (for lack of a better word) before the Couric interview.
Apparently it was the Couric interview that gave Obama the lead in the polls and he never lost the lead after that.
FOX news questioned if she was properly vetted and the answer was that it was all done so quickly and that they needed something to bring excitement to the ticket so they went for the “hail mary pass”.

Your evening news coverage was excellent but be careful that you interview more than African-americans about this historic election. I know it’s a big day for them but they aren’t the reason Obama won. You’ve been very carefully repeating that race was not much of an issue in this election so let’s hear from other races–whites, hispanics, native americans, Asian-americans, etc., all of whom voted for this man and enabled him to achieve success. I’d like to hear how they feel about this important milestone, too.

The media is not objective? Really? Wow, what a revelation.
Somehow, however, I doubt those complaining about media bias cared much when they gave Bush/Cheney a pass in pushing the phony war in Iraq.
The election of one man does not make much difference, government is a reflection of us and we are the ones who need to make a difference not politicians in D.C. If Obama can inspire even 1% of his supporters to do good works, then his election will be truly successful. So, to me, it doesn’t matter if you voted for him or not – you should go about being a good American and a good citizen. I truly hope he is as non-partisan as he aspires to be for, as he noted, he has not yet earned the vote of almost half of voting Americans.

Yes, and how about someone trying to inspire others to believe in God and learn some moral values friend? I will never vote democrat, especially after the most horrific things that this party and your candidate did to Bill Clinton. Don’t you have any sense of shame? No, you are too busy thinking about hallucinations that Obama has poisoned your minds on; a bunch of hot air in your tires. hhhahhahahhahaha
If it was so important to regulate the mortgage and loan industries, and it the Republicans were so committed to it – why didn’t the Republicans do it when they had control of the White House, the Congress and the Senate for SIX YEARS?
It is not the job of the President to make people believe in God, that is for your preacher. Your Church, your family and your friends should teach you morals.
And you speak of morals and Bill Clinton in the same sentence? No, I’m sorry, but I still believe in personal responsibility (did you even read my post?) Perhaps you don’t and want to blame government for your problems.
For some……who believe that the President is o blame for the hell that we are in need to learn politics 101 and go back to college. Congress holds the power, thus, the failures that we are in are do to the dems that are in Congress,,,,,aka Pelosi and your howard deans…..thanks for the hell and thanks for burning the rest of us smart people now with Ospotless and the rest of his senseless crew in office. Remaining Republicans and the ‘far right’ will do everything they can to inhibit progress in the Obama administration. I would hope that they would at least wait and see what Obama actually tries to do, but, in my heart I know they won’t.
Republicans are reduced to many states that are sparsely populated. Obama & Dems will have to reach out to ‘them’ but I fear no matter what the Dems say…… it will be a hard sell.
After all this time of ‘demonizing’ Obama, Republicans will not change their tune quickly if at all.

During 6 years of Republican power over the White House, Congress and the Senate . . . they rang up RECORD government DEFICITS and record government debt.
Five hundred billion dollars of deficit each year for four of those years the Republicans held all 3 levels of power!
%500,000,000,000 per year – of government overspending by the Republicans!

Let’s unite and support each other no matter what country we belong. Peace, unity, cooperation and equality are some essentials to make world at one. Isn’t it nice to see people around the globe reuniting and helping in times of crisis. I think blessings will be poured and even nature would be grateful:) Were overwhelmed to Obama’s victory, so let’s join hands and help him in his advocacy concerning for a good cause and let’s pray that he would be guided by our Lord to make right decisions that every one in all nations could benefit. Hope that he will be an instrument that could motivate our leaders in every nation to do what is right and help people that are suffering from hunger, discrimination, abuse, tortured, injustice and worsed WAR. No to gay marriage and abortion! Let us live, through the will of God and not by ridiculous will of man.

WHAT: “pefros, your ”flawless” candidate has given countless of speeches about being pro-partial birth abortion.”
Quote one.
Obama has never been pro-partial birth abortion. That myth came out of a vote he made in the Illinois state senate: “In 1997, Obama voted against SB 230, which would have turned doctors into felons by banning so-called partial-birth abortion, & against a 2000 bill banning state funding. Although these bills included an exception to save the life of the mother, they didn’t include anything about abortions necessary to protect the health of the mother. The legislation defined a fetus as a person, & could have criminalized virtually all abortion.”
Voting against a bad law to do a good thing doesn’t mean someone’s against the good thing; it just means they’re against the bad law.
Obama’s on record as saying: “On an issue like partial birth abortion, I strongly believe that the state can properly restrict late-term abortions. I have said so repeatedly.”

Biased -
ABC has no obligation to print offensive or insulting drool.
If you want to invoke your free speech rights, go out in the street and start talking. That would involve taking some personal responsibility. You wouldn’t be able to hide behind the anonymity of the internet.
