It's hard not to yawn at the 'right wingers' trotting out their tired old negativity, pre-judgements and prejudice in these comments. It reminds me of dyed in the wool Bolsheviks continuing to spew out their ugly, belligerent dogma, lost in a world that doesn't relate to their rigid mindset.
Doesn't the bile in your mouth get a little bitter to the taste? This country has been left in a nasty mess, time to pull your weight and stop your thumb sucking.

David H,
First of all I disagree that these are the people that got us where we are today. Some of them, yes, but the leadership behind where we are today, the Bush administration, will be gone. That makes a huge difference
Second, Obama never spoke specifically about changing the personel in washington. the change Obama spoke of was to get people working together and healing much of the bipartasanship we've seen in washington. He's already proving he can do that and I imagine he will continue to.
I'm still not sure why people on the right wouldn't be happy about Obama's leadership style so far. I would imagine it's a lot less scary to you than the Muslim, liberal, socialist, image that your talking heads painted of him during the campaign.

The title misspeaks, at least on technicalities. McCain cannot be channeled; because even though he's gone from our sight, he still kicks around on the planet. As an example, it would be technically correct if one said Krugman wishes Obama would channel moore of FDR's boldness.

David H, sorry but no one was conned. We had a choice between a republican and a democrat. With a not so popular republican in the white house for the last 8 years people wanted a change. That change was electing a dem. McCain didn't have a chance.

ObamaCONs -- Did someone say the election is over? Get over it? I think not. If you check your calendars closely you will find that the 2012 campaign began on November 5.
BTW -- The great thing about getting conned is that you will never admit you were conned, because it makes you look foolish. The refusal of his victims to admit they were conned is the best thing a conman has going for him.
Get over it. Admit it. You were conned.

Picking the supposedly smartest people for Executive and Cabinet posts does not guarantee the next administration will solve the problems we are facing. As Franklin Roosevelt pointed out when he was President -- most of what happens in life we cannot know, and so, the only thing to do is try something, and if it doesn't work, try something else. That was the basis of much of the New Deal. I absolutely respect FDR as a President, because although he wasn't always forthcoming with the American people, at least he was more grounded in reality. I am not so sure about our President-Elect's delusions of "the best minds to solve the problems of the day."

He has huh? ......
Hmmm...Farm bill....supported it against Bush's veto, but now wants to do EXACTLY the same thing the Bush veto would have done!
Yep...thats consistent!!!

It is true that though McCain was trying to paint Obama as a socialist, tax and spender, Obama consistently campaigned on a platform of economic growth and fiscal responsibility. Republicans are the ones who open up massive deficits and spend like there's no tomorrow. Dems are the ones who turn deficits into surpluses. Obama has been unrelentingly consistent in his message of fiscal prudence. Government should do what it does well and get out of doing what it does not do well or should not be doing.
