Democrats need to get out the vote to win this thing. Fortunately, Obama’s ground game is fantastic. I was at an Obama campaign office in Howard County Maryland yesterday – this is Maryland, not a battleground state – and the flurry of activity was awesome. People were sitting outside on lawn chairs, making calls to battleground states. Volunteers were organizing to take a canvassing trip to Pennsylvania. There were probably 50 people in and around the office, all of them actively engaged in winning this election. The RNC ads that knock Obama for “never having run anything” are such a laugh. Obama has run his campaign better than perhaps any campaign has ever been run. He outmaneuvered Hillary in the primaries, and his campaign’s discipline and organization makes McCain’s look sick.

Seems to me that McCain also supports Carbon Caps.

Never seen two grown men crave the spotlight more than Biden and Obama.
Ever time they get in trouble and say something stupid it is because of their huge egoes.
Biden has had the same job for 35 years.
Obama has never held a steady job.

Socialism versus Democracy
See what Governor Arnold S. (who fled socialism) has to say about it.
Governor S. praises the opportunities and freedom available in a Democracy.
Guess what, folks. You don’t get to have both
Socialism and Democracy. Socialism takes away FREEDOM.

Seems strange the some of the polls tightened so much, but then I saw the dates the polls were conducted: Tuesday, Oct. 28 – Thursday, Oct. 30, so they are actually lagging a bit. In the last two days, Obama has pulled ahead a bit more, but that may be only in national polls. I wonder what the WSJ poll that will come out tomorrow will say? This is either going to be a nail-biter or a blowout. That seems like too big of a swing to me.

Actually, the M/D state numbers show an improvement for Obama over their last round of polling-not that you’d know it from listening to the dunderheads on NBC and MSNBC babble about how they indicate “tightening” in the states polled.
There may or may not be tightening in these states, but the new M/D numbers do not back up that claim-in fact, they contradict it.
Maybe I’m an unusually demanding news consumer, but I don’t think it’s too much to ask TV “journalists” to check their facts before they run their mouths.

The Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac collapse that spread to the stock market was the direct result of democrats pushing no collateral loans – another spread the wealth scheme.
This time Obama, Pelosi, Reid, and Barney Franks will not be so sloppy. They are going right for the money. The top targets for tax increases keeps dropping, first $250K, then $200K, then $150K. Richardson now says the top is $120K.
There will be no notion of being judged by merit. Your work hard or do something of significance that will be equivalent to watching Letterman.

Just one of the MANY examples of socialistic policies here in the United States, so we ALREADY have both Democracy and socialism. Medicare, Medicaid, food stamps, welfare, highway taxes on fuel, sales taxes, and the big daddy example of them all, 700 billion dollar bail-outs. white males, white females, young, old, Hispanic, blacks males black Females Blue collar, white collar. Green collar , rednecks, southerners, mid west, left cost, east coast, northeast, Texans, rebels,
northwest, etc. we are all being controlled and manipulated by republicans.
They love us being in group so we can hate each other.
That’s the difference, for the last eight years
we be told to hate each other,
we been told that the boogie man was going to kill us,
we been told we are all different,
we been told only certain American where true Americans
Enough!!

For all the polls that have been taken, all the articles I’ve read, I still can’t believe McCain picked Palin as his runningmate. What an astonishing insult to the American public. What a cynical political pander to women, and the supposedly “disaffected Hillary voters” in particular.
1. Palin abused her power as Gov. of Alaska. That is a fact.
2. Palin’s husband was a member of the Alaska Independence Party – a SECESSIONIST organization. So much for “country first.”
3. Palin as mayor ran Wasilla into 20 million in debt. So much for fiscal conservatism.
4. Palin as mayor hired a lobbyist to secure earmarks for Wasilla – to the tune of 27 million.
5. Palin supports “abstinence only” sex education. Enough said.
6. Palin doesn’t believe global warming is man-made. But she would like polar bears taken off the endangered species list.
7. As mayor, Palin had women pay for their own rape examination kits. Real feminist, that Palin.
8. McCain talks about a spending freeze, Palin gives a speech on spending more on special needs children. Who’s lying? Or are they just pandering for votes.
9. Palin has said she doesn’t know what the Vice President does, as recently as this summer. Then, about ten days ago, she told a children’s class the VP is in charge of the Senate. The woman is confused.
10. Palin inquired about banning books from the Wasilla library.
the list goes on and on….

The first amendment is only for the elite left wing liberals. They can lie distort say anything. When the normal people speak it is a hate crime or racist. If they cannot dispute you they call you KKK or nazi.
This is why the left wing media is shrinking and losing money to the point of disappearing. The normal people are voting with their dollars. Obama is so dirty but his $250 million dollars or more from Saudi and Iran to his campaign spreads dollars to advertise at the left wing media.

Tim,
OK, then I’ll tell you why I’m voting for Obama.
(1) He’s intelligent, articulate and open-minded and I believe America needs that now.
(2) I believe that America is in dire need of some social safety nets, especially guaranteed health care.
(3) I believe that conservatives can cut taxes but they’re no better at cutting spending than the Democrats. The end result is huge deficits.
Just look at the Reagan, Bush, Bush, Bush presidencies and see what they did to the federal debt.
(4) McCain is ok but I sincerely believe he’s too old and I don’t want to risk having Palin take over.
(5) I think it’s time a member of a minority group or a woman gets elected president. I wouldn’t want Palin to be the first… unelected woman president.

today,
“Meant to says he is pulling his stock out of the stock market. Good idea if Obama wins. All of the capital will leave this country.”
That is not true. CNN, NY Times and USA today published the facts if you want to look that up. During the periods we had Democratic presidents, the stock market performed far better. CNN analysed the data from 1927 – 1999 and USA’s data was from 1901 to 1995. The NY Times data was examined from 1929 – 2001.
CNN
—
2% gain = Republicans
11% gain = Democrats
USA Today

6.9% gain = Republicans
13.3% gain = Democrats
NY Times

Mason-Dixon has a regular 3+ Republican skew. Same thing for Survey USA. Quinnipiac and PPP generally skew 3+ Democratic. Rasmussen can be a little conservative but it is the most trusted poll by far.His numbers have remained steady for over 35 days. Obama should end up in 330 range of EV’s give or take 25 either way.

2.) i agree to a point. we already HAVE those. unfortunately, government greed has ruined most of them over the years. from BOTH sides, not just one party or the other. what makes you think things will change with an obama presidency?!
3.) absolutely right. the republicans HAVE lost all fiscal hope from me. we need ACTIVISM and accountablilty to change this. its the only thing that will change their actions. they used to be good at it, there is hope WE THE PEOPLE could force them to get back to those policies.
4.) mccain is old. palin is comparable to obama with experience. im guessing its just that you dont agree with her ideas. another pointless reason.
5.) i have no problem with a minority president. but its just not a reason to vote for one. they have to be the RIGHT minority canidate. its not a reason for voting for a canidate.

Tim,
I don’t buy the “just another slick politician” argument. That one can be applied to both sides of the coin.
” im guessing its just that you dont agree with her ideas. another pointless reason.”
I think that not agreeing with someone’s ideas is a pretty good reason not to vote for them.
Also, I think she just lacks the intellect to hold high office, regardless of what her views may be.
I would not want her, say, nominating Supreme Court justices – both from an “idea” standpoint and an “intellect” standpoint.
I would not vote for Obama just because he’s black. In fact, 40 years ago that might have been a reason why I’d have voted against him. Luckily, things have changed and so have I.
I believe this is an historic opportunity to elect a highly talented and qualified black man to the presidency. He’s better than his opposition and the time is right.

well i must have missed your post earlier if you replied to why you are voting for obama, so please post again. im voting for mccain, because obama and the democratic agenda, is not the answer. let me keep it simple, for time saving purposes. I AM NOT A REPUBLICAN. i am an independant. its just that th democratic party, is being taken over by the far left. the pelosi’s, obama’s, reid’s, frank’s, dodd’s, etc. THEY SIMPLY DONT STAND FOR WHAT I, AND MOST AMEICANS, STAND FOR. i dont like the republiccans much more lately, but at least there are still SOME left in congress that have a clue. and with activism, i believe we stand a chance with them. thats why, in a nutshell, im voting for mccain.

wait, so you would rather have obama appointing supreme court justices???!! you want judges who would legislate from the bench, or those who abide by the constitution? thats one of the scariest things about an obama presidency. you dont agree that obama is a slick politician? what history does he have to prove otherwise?! he’s an empty suit at this point. maybe he will do a good job, but he is just words at this point. and, you were the one who said “its time for a minority president” not me. i just said, it shouldnt be a reason for voting for a canidate. if they happen to be a minority, so be it. but you should not list it as a “benefactor” before choosing a canidate. policies trump color, race, or sex. sorry.

They once called Senator Barack Obama a dreamer, but the dreamer, I predict shall will be a winner on the day after polls close. I can’t be wrong. This is because Senator Barack Obama is already a winner. I thank Senator Barack Obama for inviting so many young, old, and long absent Americans back into the election process. Our country will be going forward a much better democracy because more Americans will be paying attention to the process. If Senator Barack Obama wins the election, I am confident, he will be an excellent American president. As it seems to me, so many people on the other side (McCain/Palin)are driven by fear of this and that, just a reminder, it was hope, faith, and dreams that created this great country, the USA. The founding American fathers were risk takers. It is the fear and division that threaten or seeks to destroy faith, hope, and dreams in America. The purveyors of fear favor more of the same failed Bush/McCain/Palin policies.
Will America be lead by fear or lead by hope? Even Republicans are crossing over to vote for hope by voting Obama. Go vote in haste for Obama/Biden 08, the
positive change you too can believe in!
God bless the United States of America.

I don’t not dislike john mccain as a man
i am proud of his service to this country.
I have not called anyont a terroist,
or accused anyone of hiding anything.
so i will now leave for church, ask god to forgive me for my sins,
and pray for our country and the world.
and pray that our national nightmare is almost over. and with obama as president we will have a better day coming.
that is what hope is all about.
mccain has given me no hope. just a promise of more of the same.

–Jake, it only seems closer if you disregard that mason-dixon has consistently had the race closer than most other polls.
–Yes, Pelosi is a liberal, but the idea that Reid is a liberal is just a Republican non-reality based talking point. Liberal democrats were upset when Reid was selected because he’s moderate, centrist.

lol wow, thanks. what do you want to hear? i cnt stand obamas ideas. they are against what most americans believe. or used to believe anyways. i already told you that i hate the republican party. i cant stand that bush pushed for the ridiculous bailout. i think deregulation has hurt our economic sector. i think he was a puppet early on with decisions on the war. there are ALOT of things that i disagree with. why are you assuming that i am “pro mccain” so much?! honestly, im just saying that there isnt one thing obamas ideas that impress me. i think he’s charming, thoughtful, a guy i would like to shoot some hoops with, but that dosent mae him a good leader to me. i know its a hate word lately, but his ideas are too socialist for me.

Obama’s Plan To Bankrupt New Coal Plants
This is another gem uncovered by Naked Emperor News. It’s from an interview Obama gave to the San Francisco Chronicle in which he speaks of his approach to global warming and cap-and-trade systems. It’s an approach I’m not sure the bitter gun clingers of Pennsylvania would appreciate

I am still stunned that a man who is a media creation (and it continues with being on the cover of the current GQ magazine) and has the most leftist voting record in the Senate (which he served in for less than a half year before starting his run for president) may be ruling this country in a few months. Meanwhile a man like John McCain (check out his amazing bio, folks) would lose to him. I wouldn’t believe it if it were a book or movie, but here it may come to be.
But this thing isn’t over yet, so lets not get ahead of ourselves. There is still time. Two full days for people to stop and think: Who is this guy, Obama?
Tha fat lady has not sung just yet. Any web search on President Dewey would tell you that.

Did you know Obam’s economic and social program is identical to the communist party usa. Go to their web sight and be shocked, The truth will set you free. The media has been bought out by Obama’s 600 million dollar add buy. They sold out for a lie. That is why they are sinking. Wake up Obama wants a 150, ooo man national police force armed and equipped as well as the milatary. Brown shirts Gestapo secret police KGB, sounds familiar Wake up. I am a retired FBI counter terror agent. The justice dept is paralyzed by the racism charges when we question this.

Do as I say not as I do. The first tenet of a phoney. (Fact: Joe Biden has donated less than two tenths of one percent of his handsome income to charity over the last ten years.)
John McCain, on the other hand, says country first and has proved it in a way very few could ever do. I can’t imagine putting myself through the sacrifice for country that he willingly put himself through. John and Cindy McCain believe in a adoption but it isn’t just words — they adopted a child. John McCain believes in working across tha aisle to get things done and has done so many countless times.
Yes, there is an inspirational candidate in this race. But it is not the one the media tells you it is. I’m voting for the candidate who inspires by being doer, not just by being a fancy orator

Is this the no tax crowd, the flat tax crowd, or the no progressive tax crowd?
Where are you folks coming from? Why are folks taking about socialism? We don’t practice unchecked capitalism in America, do we? We have progressive taxation in America. Are you wanting to give up all your benefit packages? Are you giving up vacation, sick pay, child care, housing deductions ect.. Is your grandmother benefiting from social security or medicare? Under unchecked capitalism some succeed, while others fail. Failure to provide health care means death to some of our most vulnerable citizens. We in America decided that the children, old, sick, and disabled she not fail unto death, when they are unable to compete. Has that changed? Maybe the American people have changed their minds. Does anyone remember or have you read about poverty after the market crash in 1929? Do you know how people lived in America early in the century? Do you understand that deregulation killed the current market? Where do you think the money went? Lots of people lost lots of money. Who benefited from that money, real, and phony money? Without regulation capitalism unchecked leads to just what recently happened in the markets. Recent unchecked and unregulated greed, lead to American business failures the likes not seen since the great depression. So what are you saying. Hwant to understand. No regulations. No taxes, no change, what? More of the same. I think Barack Obama presents the case well for responsibility, reasoned regulation, business support in a challenged economic time, a strong defense, and educating our young for a successful future. I want to pay reasonable taxes, preserving business and opportunities for wealth, but do my part to advance the future of my country. Have you got a better idea?
Posted by: bll | November 2, 2008, 1:05 pm 1:05 pm
Six of the 10 new national releases show nominal shifts to Obama and three show no change in margin since their last non-overlapping sample — none show any improvement for McCain.

bll: Do you know where the legislation that allowed this to happen came from? The original legislation was passed in 1977 during the Carter Administration, in 1993 the legislation was modified during the Clinton administration both facts are undeniable. Look at the information regarding home sales to low income borrower and you will see that it skyrocked in the 1990′s. Lenders were coerced to make bad loans and willingly did so because these loans were bought up by the GSE’s, Government Sponsored Corps. Lenders believed the loans were the governments problem and willingly made them, but they would not have and didn’t previous to the passage of this legislation. I agree that the Republicans did little to cure the problem during the 90′s and early 2000′s. However since 2003 when it became apparent that the situation was unsustainable attempts to change the regulations were blocked by Democrats in the Senate.

Posted by: Richard | November 2, 2008, 2:05 pm 2:05 pm
No sir, I don’t know the source of the specific legislation you refer to, but republicans have been in charge for the last eight years. I will look up your assertions, this will take more time? Certainly, there is enough blame to go around. I have no real understanding of the world of the wealthy. In the trenches of life, business and government policies have real impact on workers. What I understand is that there is a constant push and pull between capitalism and social interventions in America. I went to wiki pedia for a quick review of capitalism and socialism. We are a capitalist country, with a social support system. I wasn’t born in the 1930′s, but I’ve seen and read about life in America before those social supports existed. Poverty then was deep and far reaching. Few finished grade school, or high school, or went to college, most food and work came from local farm labor. We didn’t live very long. Industrial jobs led to large migrations of people, for better lives. Only struggles between business and labor resulted in better lives. Modern deregulation has allowed capitalism to exceed reasonable business practices. Unreasonable business practices right now are abusing consumers, taking their homes, and exacting usury fees for services. In health care, some cost based decisions are a life and death matters. Average Americans are pushing back even if they don’t know why. Americans know life is out of balance. The young are buying what they are being sold. I am not arguing for more social support. I am saying particularly deregulation has injured this country. We need a different point of view. It is time to modernize, reinvest, and invest in America, and in our children. I am born and raised in America. I love my country. I am arguing for common sense, respect, and citizenship. Just as the pendulum is shifting left because of government and business abuses, it will also shift back to the right. Obama is arguing for responsibility, common sense, sacrifice, and good citizenship. America is the greatest nation in the world. Our greatness will be preserved by educating our young, through personal and citizen responsibility. Obama’s plan for America is reasonable. Thank you for the challenge to think about what I believe and why? I’ll get back later on the other topic.

As a former Republican, I just want to say that the GOp let me down when the best they could come up with was Bush, born with a silver spoon and rode his daddy’s coat tails his whole life.
With that aside, don’t you Republicans realize that with every myth, (Obama is going to create a Gestapo police force, he is going to send checks to people that don’t work, he is a socialist, communist, marxist, he didn’t help his poor aunt, his poor aunt is an illegal who voted and is on welfare…ad nauseum, you just prove the point that you haven’t done your homework, but people start looking for the truth and find out that 99.9% of it is lies and see what a great candidate he is.
