Rahm Reaches Out

Following up on his boss’s meeting with former rival John McCain, Rahm Emanuel will be meeting with the Senate Republican Leadership tomorrow.

A meeting with the House GOP Leadership couldn’t be worked out for now, but is likely to happen in December.

This is the change we wanted.
Working across the aile to get things done.
Where are those dingos who were chastising President-elect Obama for selecting a few good old hands?

Steve_NJ…no I am happy to see some work being done period! But look, even though this is a bad scenario for our President_elect, this is probably the best things that could have happen because everyone is under the microscope right now, so the incoming administration knows that they are being held to an even higher standard, which is requiring them all to perform their best for “us”

Yeah, he’s reaching across the aisle to tell them that they won’t get anything they want passed, and that they should just vote with Obama on everything.
Pardon me for being a realist, but I am having an extremely difficult time believing that a man with absolutely no history of ever “reaching across the aisle” is going to start now… especially with what is looking to be a filibuster proof Democrat majority.
Only time will tell.

Question: Will the rightwing “Christian” GOP senators countenence Rahm’s infamous F-
Bomb? Or will they be sharing their own? Then again, the real nutbag GOPers are mostly in the House.

northlite: when Cheney, as President of the Senate, unloaded with the f-bomb on the Senate floor I don’t recall any disapproval from the Republican side of the aisle. So I think they’ll care more about Rahm’s agenda than his expletives.
Besides, the “Christian Right” is an albatross around the Republican Party’s neck right now… even though it’s a self-imposed burden.

President-elect promised change, picking insiders (AP)
AP – President-elect Barack Obama promised the voters change but has started his Cabinet selection process by naming several Washington insiders to top posts.

Didn’t that wolf ‘reach out” to Little Red Ridding Hood claiming to be her sweet little grandma

McCain, Obama… neither one of them can straighten this mess out. Dems and Reps and Independents and Liberals and Conservatives… all these words make me gag. Unless or until people, just plain ordinary people come to their sense and follow the Golden Rule (uh, oh for those who don’t know, it is “do unto others as you would have them do unto to you” or treat each other like you’d like to be treated), we’ll NEVER get out of this mess. Politics and filth, tell me, what’s the difference?
When will common sense and a willingness to come together for the betterment of all ever be the focal point in our lives? What a sorry state of affairs we’ve come to realize. It’s gonna take someone with other-worldly powers to effect real change. Common decency, politeness, courtesy, generousity, and kindness simply are crushed under the feet of arrogance, greed, avarice, egomania, haughtiness, unthankful, disloyal, slanderers without self-control, fierce without love of goodness, having a form of godly devotion but proving false to its power… And you wonder why we’re in the “pickle” we’re in. Like Homer Simpson would utter: “Duh!”

So, one of the most partisan politicans in history selects another rabidly partisan politican to go out and work with the “other side?” Come on! EVERY president does this kind of thing and, unlike Obama, some of them actually meant it.

The fanatical Zionist son of an unrepentant terrorist reaches out to the other faction of American Likud…big news!  I was an enthusiastic supporter of Obama and continue to like him but was beginning to have doubts. Then in comes Hillary.
Well, maybe their promises of violence and injustice are just talk. Hope springs eternal & Charlie Brown still kicks at that footfall.

Mr. Stephanopolous, is it true that you, Mr. Emanuel, Mr. Carville and Mr. Begala communicate on a daily basis and have for over fifteen years? http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0109/18011.html If so, how can you possibly claim a lack of bias? I respectfully ask you to excuse yourself from any reporting involving any of these four gentlemen or their offices.
