Didn’t Obama meet with Bill Richardson about the Secretary of State job today?

Keep ur friends close and enemies closer…
Hillary if not given a specific tasks will try to be in limelight for every major issue…remember she tried to negotiate a deal on automakers with President Bush the other day even though she is not a committe chir yet

Mrs. Clinton should be President, not this second tier Secretary stuff.

Posted by: young_voter | November 14, 2008, 9:22 pm 9:22 pm

Since Obama met with Bill Richardson on Friday for the Secretary of State job, Obama could end up giving the SoS job to Richardson instead of Hillary.
I think the media is getting ahead of itself with crowing Hillary as the next Secretary of State person.

The Clinton Global initiative will certainly get a big boost with Hillary’s Sec of State clout.
Imagining her as a champion of WORLD health issues does a body good.
Obama is a very intelligent guy who knows how to make the most of what he’s got to work with.
God Bless America again for electing him!

Obama needs to appoint some qualified republicans and independents to his administration to be able to work with republicans in both chambers of congress, to achieve compromises and fast forward a reformed health care, for example.
America has been paralyzed by Republicans and Democrats who can’t stand each other, for decades, and we are their victims.
America deserves to be a much better state.
He is proven, so far, to be too partisan like all politicians. It too shameful that many of us believed his message of change.

un-named sources-
bill’s business dealing
the last time i heard bill clinton
CGI was doing good work all around the globe.
from aids meds
to feeding the hungry.
to education
to stopping child labor abuse
has anyone heard that the clinton global init. was doing anything other
than those listed above?
from what i can tell, and i have read the site
CGI is pretty much picking up the ball in areas around the world that the “SUPERPOWER” USA has dropped.
also i might add, all of these news people reporting this, really have no facts. they should be out trying to get some real news-but i guess they are all just sitting around watching each others tv channels, and spinning the same story a different way.
all you have to put at the beginning of the spin is “high level, and un-named”

I still don’t trust Hillary. She is so devious. Actually, she is the one who dug up Ayers and falsely associated him with Obama. I don’t trust her. She can keep her Senate seat.
Richardson is our man.

Posted by: Lucky Lucy | November 14, 2008, 11:26 pm 11:26 pm

I dont trust Richardson, he is still a Judas.

Posted by: Sandy | November 15, 2008, 12:13 am 12:13 am

I don’t think we need Hilliary Clinton in any form of goverment. We have had enough of the Clintons!

Posted by: Ruth | November 15, 2008, 12:16 am 12:16 am

Hopefully, Hillary will not be our next Secretary of State – her work in the NY Senate should be her 1st priority!!! Richardson is a good choice but don’t stop there! Obama is very intelligent and understands the world is watching and all decisions should reflect some non-partisan (considerations)/choices within his cabinet.

The idea of Clinton being Secretary of State makes my blood run cold.

Posted by: Jack | November 15, 2008, 1:47 am 1:47 am

Every source has indicated its Clintons job if she wants it.
If she was ‘just in the running’ with Bill Richardson and John Kerry, she wouldnt have gone all the way to Chicago for it.She would have turned it down.
I suspect her name was floated with Richardson and Kerry all last week. This is why she kept ditching the issue and ignoring it up until yesterday when all of a sudden she started singing a different tune.
This to me is when Obama told her its hers if she wants it.
Richardson is the back up for if Clinton turns it down.

Of course you can hear the razor blades slicing at MSNBC and Jake Tapper here who looks like he wants to kill himself.
All the left wing freaks are still scared of the democratic moderates AKA clinton democrats.
If you havent noticed, after all his HYPE about change, Obama has simply hired every long term clinton cronie to fill his cabinent. Exactly what Hillary would have done.
One day you guys will start to GET who Obama really is.

Posted by: infoseeking | November 15, 2008, 2:07 am 2:07 am

infoseek:
“If you havent noticed, after all his HYPE about change, Obama has simply hired every long term clinton cronie to fill his cabinent”
infoseek, President-elect Obama has not filled a single cabinet position . . . if you haven’t noticed.

Posted by: pefros | November 15, 2008, 7:57 am 7:57 am

“Cabinet are nominated by the President and then presented to the United States Senate for confirmation or rejection by a simple majority. If approved, they are sworn in and begin their duties. Aside from the Attorney General, and previously, the Postmaster General, they all receive the title Secretary.”

It is very strange, but a smart move,
again, obama outsmarted clinton. he is not smarter than clinton.
i thought he had all of these new brains standing in the wings, waiting with a new brand of how to get things done.
i didn’t know his plan was to outsmart clinton, and then take all of the clinton people also.
the clinton people were always the smartest people in the room.
and now it seems, they still are.
how will obama, match his new “change”
to these career clinton people, who already know how to get things done?
If obama and co. really thought they were smarter than the clintons and their crew, obama should have had his own people. not hire the smartest from the clintons. that just makes the obama’ people still look like
wannabes.
maybe sen. clinton should have been president afterall.

People pay closer attention. Obama did not meet with Richardson he spoke with him(hmm by phone) Hillary flew to Chicago to meet with him. So here it is either he wants her to take it or he wants her to pretend to mull it around and the turn it down so he can bee seen as offering her something but she turns it down. I hope she takes it.

I am glad they are running these speculation articles, it keeps us from having to hear about PALIN!!!!

Posted by: Jwench | November 15, 2008, 9:01 am 9:01 am

I think Clinton is a great choice for Obama.
The single biggest issue in long-term his US foreign policy success is negotiating peace between Palestine and Israel.
Can anyone think of a better person to accomplish this win-win goal for President Obama and the world at large than the completely incompetent Sec. Condi Rice’s replacement — the ever-competent Hillary Rodham Clinton?
It would give kudos to everyone, and once again prove how much BushCo missed the mark with his invasion of Iraq.
We all can acknowledge that all kinds of nations want to help Sec Clinton solve the original MidEast crisis, while President Obama solves the world economic crisis and Chuck Hagel helps him resolve the War on Terrorism.
I truly HOPE President-elect Obama has the guts to do this (despite or in spite of the Clinton-hating Wing of his political base).

Hillary would be perfect for this job. Why waste a smart, national treasure like Hillary Clinton? This country is in tough shape, why not pick our most talented public servants to solve tough problems? Hillary has demonstrated that she can rise above politics.

Obama’s election proves it is time to bury AFFIRMATIVE actions of all kinds, get rid of quotas of all sorts and base it purely on MERIT and ECONOMICS based. Any comments….

Posted by: vick | November 15, 2008, 10:15 am 10:15 am

I am searching high and low but cannot find it — the reason Hillary has suddenly become the Glinda the Good Witch. Wasn’t it only last week that she was Hillary the Liar, Hillary Who Voted for the War, Hillary the Whiner, Hillary the (dare I say it?) “Clinton”?
Is it too much to ask for the Obamacons to be consistent? Either you hate and despise Hillary, or you do not. She has not been magically transformed.
Or has she?
She went to Chicago, she was in the presence of Him, perhaps he touched her, (perhaps she got a thrill up her leg), and perhaps he cast out the evil spirits within her.
Is that it? Has The One sent forth the message to his minions: “She is one of us, now. Praise be to Me!”???

We need to abandon the fringes of both parties including Hillary, Obama, Jindal, Steele and unite!

Posted by: Michael | November 15, 2008, 10:52 am 10:52 am

All of these are just speculations. I will wait for President elect Obama to announce it.

By the way, isn’t it interesting how, when it was clear Hillary would lose the nomination, the MSM felt free to trash her; but now that she may have an important job in the O-Man’s administration the MSM is extolling her virtues. Could it be that they are now worried about gaining access to her?

Vick, and Moline,
Can we now say there is an end to Racism?
don’t hold your breathe,

David @ 12:04
I wouldn’t say Hillary Clinton’s virtues are being extolled, but that there is more objectivity apparently being shown. I think, if she actually becomes SoS, that she’ll certainly show graciousness towards some of her detractors.

Posted by: kat | November 15, 2008, 12:18 pm 12:18 pm

Too bad David @ 12:04 got edited a bit.

Posted by: kat | November 15, 2008, 12:24 pm 12:24 pm

So be it!
This is President Elect Obama’s most important appointment and Senator Hillary Clinton is his best choice.
She will bring balance, gravitas, experience, wisdom, courage, commitment and the solid security of a team player!
I hope Hillary says yes! :)

It means it is time for those welfare cheats especially among the minorities to start working and not make excuses.
END ALL QUOTAS NOW !!!!!!!! should be the rallying slogan for the republicans

The opinion of Hillary to most democrats is she proved that she has some class by campaigning for Obama. She did what she needed to do for a Democrat win. You will still have the haters but the majority saw Hillary a bit differently toward the end of the primaries and afterward.

Posted by: Jwench | November 15, 2008, 12:47 pm 12:47 pm

Dear God in Heaven help us. Help the WORLD!
Does he still not understand the Clinton 2 for the price of 1 deal?
Bill can hardly wait to use Hillary as a crowbar to take down Obama from the inside.

Posted by: Dana | November 15, 2008, 2:45 pm 2:45 pm

Hillary Clinton is qualified to be the secretary of garbage. Every time she speaks only crap comes out.

Posted by: CHARLIE | November 15, 2008, 6:01 pm 6:01 pm

so vick,
what about the poor white people in appla. and in the ozarks? and in all of the rural areas across this country?
what shall we do with them?
what will be the Republican rallying cry for them?
you see that is why the rep. party is disappearing.
there are more Whites on welfare than minorities.
the thing of it is vick.
there are poor and needy people of all colors in this country, in need of help.
you need to go back and look at some of hillary’ campaign commercials. where she talked to poor whites in kentucky and other rural areas
athe only difference between a poor white person in rural america on welfare, and a poor minority in the inner city on welfare is the color of their skin.

She’s not good enough to be VP, but Secretary of State is ok? Make sure you find places for Bill and Al Gore so we can continue change.

Hilary is a very smart person. She is one of the most intelligent person I have seen. I think Obama is great yto put the Country first and get the best brains to work with him.

Posted by: asha | November 15, 2008, 11:22 pm 11:22 pm

I don’t trust Hilary Clinton. While I think she may be smart enough to do some good in the world as Secretary of State, the question is will she? Or will she and her husband use it as an opportunity to further their causes, which is namely themselves!

Posted by: Taylor | November 16, 2008, 1:10 pm 1:10 pm

Politics is all water down with many lies and many compromises. God doesn’t compromise, so why do so many people expect that God will bless Obama or those who voted for him. People have water down their own faith’s that they have forgotten the word of God. The atheist know more about God then most who claim to be Christians.
