Schwarzenegger: Clinton ‘Could Be Great Move’ for Obama Cabinet

Last week I reported that Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., was in the running to become Obama’s secretary of state. Today we learned that the President-elect and his former rival met privately yesterday to discuss the position.

This afternoon I asked California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger what he thought of a possible Secretary Clinton. "I think she is a very very bright woman and very experienced. I think this could be a great move."

But he also said that it’s equally important for the president to have a good working relationship with all the members of his cabinet.

"When it comes to those kinds of positions, what is equally as important, and I know with my cabinet, what is equally as important as who is qualified, is who can you work with. Who can you sit down with and really get in there and start becoming a partner [with], that sees things the way you see it," he said.

"And also that you maybe want to learn from that person and admire that person so much that you want to pick up some pointers and learn from that person, so that they together can go out and do this."

Now that you’ve heard the Governor’s take, what do you think of Clinton for secretary of state?

Leave Hillary alone. She is perfectly fine being a Senator, for now.

Change We Can Believe In. Hillary Clinton no. If we had wanted her to be president we would have voted for her. It is inconceivable that he would even consider her for Secy. of State. Hillary is for Hillary and he would get Bill to. Boy, what a mess. Surely, he has more sense than that, but what does he believe in. If he wants change, Hillary is not it. Can anyone even believe he would consider her??

Obama started the campaing with “Change We Can Believe In”
Now, I see what he lined up for his cabinet. There is NO change! Just SAME OLD SAME OLD.
What happens to change? I want to see some fresh faces!

Obama could present a powerful form of change if he were to appoint the very best people for Cabinet roles, rather than purely rewarding political loyalty. If Clinton is willing to focus on the President’s goals for America, and Obama wants her in the role, she should be appointed. Likewise with Bob Gates, and maybe even Schwarzenegger in a position to promote alternative energy.
Obama previously promised to look at intellect and ability, rather than ideology (a HUGE change from Bush), when appointing his team. These selections would demonstrate that the best way forward is to put America’s finest leaders to work on these massive issues.

Regarding Hilary for Sec. of State: Candidates should be selected on qualifications not political moves. I don’t think Hilary’s strenghts lie in the Sec. of State position. Poor choice.

Selection of Senator Hilary Clinton for Secretary of State, as qualified she is for the position, serves more domestic popular politics than being serious about tackling the current complicated international scene. Condoleeza Rice has served current administration well, and is well suited to serve the next. But it is natural the new administration wishes to signal changes by selecting a new Secretary of State. The US has qualified leaders for this position if they are willing to step forward, which they now should! A Secretary of State does not necessarily have to be a politician.

Posted by: Chris | November 15, 2008, 12:44 pm 12:44 pm

I think that it is both an intelligent move as well as the RIGHT move!
Right because she has the experience including that of a meeting and greeting heads of State during the Billy C tenure in the White House.
Intelligent because this confirms his ideologies: surrounding himself with the best the country has to offer.

Hillary has zero foreign policy experience and I think this is a horrible choice that will reflect badly on Obama’s judgment. Not to mention the DRAMA that always comes with the Clintons.
If he chooses her, next election I absolutely will NOT VOTE FOR HIM – NOT IN A MILLION YEARS.
I am not in the mood for the egos of the Clintons and any more interns etc. Obama has enough Clinton people right now . Soon it will be HRC is the PRESIDENT and Obama will have to beg her for a job.

I think she would be a good choice for Sec of State but we might be better served if she stayed in the Senate working on health care. But I heard Kennedy is leaving no room for her in health care so I think she should have Sec.

You Clintonites are nuts! As if anybody cares what the Ahnold has to say or George Stephanopoulos for that matter. When Obama said change, nobody mean back to 1990. The Clintons need to get off the stage and join the history books where they belong. The Clinton legacy is done, and it includes NAFTA, welfare reform for babies but not corporations, media consolidation, don’t ask/don’t tell, and precious time wasted for a lousy bj.

I don’t think it is wise to give this job to a politician. The position would be better served by a professional who does not have an hidden agenda and too much ego. The country needs someone who can analyze the world situation and advise the President.
Politicians have egos and their own agenda. The greatest secretaries of State that this country knew were professionals.

I think Hillary would make a great Sec. of State, the question now is ‘will she want it?’ She would have to forgo her favored domestic policy issues such as health care to focus strictly on foreign policy.

Janice there is change and then there is change. Do you recall when Clinton arrived in DC he brought all NEW people? Well they had no clue how things were done and as a result there was chaos for months. It makes sense to chose some who know the ropes. I believe you will see change in policies and ideas and the focus of this administration. Hang on for a while, give him a chance and they weigh in.

Hillary would be better as Secretary of Defense to avoid any conflict of interest with Bill’s dealing with foreign countries in seeking supportfor his charities etc. However, she would make a great secretary of state.

As a well-informed Obama supporter, I have to say that I think it would be really problematic to have her as the head of the State Dept. for the same reasons why I don’t think she would have made a good VP selection. I trust Obama as I have all along so in the end I suppose I’d be willing to give him the benefit of the doubt — something she never did for him throughout the primaries.

Please no more Hillary Clinton. Look at the drama that has occurred just rumors about Hillary for SOS and look at her coy response. George- Stop being a tool for the Clintons. I have never and will never forgive you for those stupid debate questions you gave Barack. Give it up. Hillary and her fans need to realize that she is best qualifed to be a senator. She ran a terrible campaign and is a terrible executive. You need to be a good executive to be a SOS. She is so labor intensive and needs too many people to help her get the her own job done and it is still always about her and not the needs of our country. It took 6 speech writers to get her convention speech done. And the convention was so over the top drama because of her. And her foreign policy experience- have we forgtten about Bosnia already? Richardson has more executive and foreign policy experience and he hasn’t gotten his cronies out promoting him like Hillary has gotten you qand her DNC cronies to leak all of this out George. Times are too serious for this kind of high school drama.

Fact is that Clinton is admired and trusted among world leaders. She will make a great Secretary of State. The only person who came close to Middle East peace was Bill and I think Hillary is smarter than Bill. She will get the job done. Go Obama! I trust your judgement.

Political debt is what will matter. Richardson dissed the Clintons to support Obama…for what?
The Clintons went against their beliefs and values and campaigned with Obama, for Obama.
Now which carries a heavier weight? Qualifications will have nothing to do with the choice, only who Obama feels more indebted to.

It would be great to know how many of W.’s administration had a basic Constitutional Law class (NOT TAUGHT AT A BIBLE SCHOOL).
The 30+ Neo-Con nightmare is almost over. Sweet revenge for your TV viewing experience expected.
I wonder if the new administration could find a place for Thom Hartman. A void existing in our Nation. It’s left from the absence of intellect, humanism and just plane heart, missing since FDR, that came about from Capitalism on steroids.

NO to Hillary!! Anyone that says they would annihilate Iran should not be considered for SOS. It’s completely opposite to Barack’s point of view. Too much drama — too much baggage — and I don’t think the Clinton finances would be able to stand up to the vetting process. And, that’s only if they would allow it. I can’t stand the thought of Bill being anywhere near the Government again and although Hillary is bright, let’s not forget how she mismanaged her own campaign — especially with the ‘help’ of Bill. They both feel entitled and as far as I’m concerned, the only thing they are entitled to is to get out of the limelight. They’ve had their day and then some. Now it’s time to retire. The most she should be given is something to do with the Health department and for heaven sake keep Bill out of it completely. He’s a walking disaster. Biggest male diva I have ever seen. Richardson for SOS and Powell for Secretary of Defense.

Wasn’t it Obama who said simply having tea and cookies with foreign leaders does not make one a foreign policy expert? I think Obama is misguided in his “Team of Rivals” quest. We’ve had enough dissention to last a lifetime. What we need is a team of folks who can get things done.
Frankly, I’m very dissappointed in Obama. I’ve been with Obama since day one. I donated a lot of money to his campaign which I’ve never done before. Never before have I thought a politician was worth even a dime of my hard earned money, but Obama got 26,000 dimes from me because I believe in him. Selection of Clinton has shaken my belief. I’m so tired of the Clintons and their chaos and drama. No one could possibly believe Clinton is more qualified than Kerry, Hagel, or Rice. Kerry is the best choice. He has all the foreign policy cred and he speaks several languages. Wouldn’t it be nice to have a top diplomat who can communicate with other countries in their language?
Obama’s strategy of rewarding enemies and rivals and giving the boot to loyal supporters is not a winning strategy in my book.

Appointing Hillary Rodham Clinton as the Secretary of State will be a very wise move for President Elect Obama. Hillary Clinton will be a huge asset to Obama administration. Her tenacity, her political skills, her strength besides her huge popularity right here at home and abroad would serve America very well. I never seen any other contempeory politician, not even Bill Clinton can speak with such conviction, knowledge of issues, intellectual clarity, passion and purpose. She has spent her life in service of our country. Her stamina and shinning intelligence is an inspiration to all. Hillary Clinton will bring huge credibility and strength to our government. I don’t see any other politician Democratic or Republican who can hold a candle to Hillary Rodham Clinton.

People didn’t vote for Hillary, they voted for Obama and CHANGE he promised.
Mr., Obama , election is over., YOU WON. You don’t owe Hillary ANYTHING. She owes us Obama supporters for you paying off her campaign bills to trash you and us for months.

I think we’re very negative in our time. Negativism are reflecting in our every act. We can see in the political stage where hate is the potential act of our expression. We hate Obama, hate his all actions- these type of rediculus menatality is a proof of our emptyness. If Hilary Clinton can serve her country with Obama administration, what’s wrong with that? Obama beat her in a election. There was nothing wrong with Obama competency, this is a democratic process. As a civilize nation, we need to respect our own democracy. We claim our greatness by what?
We need to think about our attitudes which is reflection of our negativity.

Bush had a tendency to make decisions based on either the politics of the moment – or narrow understandings of what was really going on.He was closed minded and unwilling to admit mistakes (of which there were many). Obama and Clinton have a more common sense and pragmatic way of looking at the world. What’s the right thing to do and how do we get there. They both want to right the wrongs of the last eight years – and clearly there is no where to go but up.

Posted by: jburke | November 15, 2008, 7:41 pm 7:41 pm

Hillary Clinton should be offered two jobs – one as secretary of state and the other health. She has already known and met most world leaders. And she was the first woman to be the Senate Armed Forces Relations Committee. She is intelligent and has shown she can set aside any differences and work with Obama. She lost the nomination and yet asked her 18 million suppporters to back Obama and she went across the nation to ask her supporters to vote for Obama. Truly she deserves a high post in Obama administration. Let Bill Clinton continue with his work. His foundation does good work by providing cheap aid drugs to those suffering in Africa. I think people can accept his speaking assignments and other means to raise funds for the foundation. I hope that Hillary has been offered a high profile post and that she does accept it. I hope that Obama just didn’t call Hillary all the way to Chicago just to seek her advice on whom he should pick for his cabinet. I was a Hillary fan and supporter. I would be very disappointed if she is offered the job and does not take it.Or if Obama interviewed her and then he goes and picks someone else. Bill Richardson should be considered but for something else and so also Kerry who also supported Obama.

As a lifelong Democrat but one who was very skeptical of a rookie Senator as President, I am getting more reassured now that Pres.-Elect Obama is reaching out to the proven talent of the Clinton administration, including the possibility of Hillary Clinton as SOS. Hillary would be an excellent choice- with gravitas, poise, and a “rock star” reputation in all world capitals and among world leaders.
Bill Clinton remains the reason that the electorate identified the Democrats as the brand of good economic stewardship and fiscal competence- Obama benefited from that brand identification.

Obama needs a Secretary of State who can “flesh-0ut” his vision of foreign policy, and then enthusiastically implement it. Clinton and Obama do not share the same vision. Furthermore, there are others who are eminently more qualified in Middle East affairs than Sen. Clinton.

Posted by: John DeYulia | November 15, 2008, 8:34 pm 8:34 pm

I believe this has been set up to give Hillary the opportunity to turn down the position and “dedicate herself to her work in the Senate.” It’s make-up for leaving her out of the VP vetting process.
I hope I’m right, because I am currently one of the many disappointed Obama-maniacs who thought CHANGE meant change, not the resurrection of the Clinton administration! We need new faces and opinions.

Posted by: Patrick Cleary | November 15, 2008, 8:48 pm 8:48 pm

Great idea and I think she would do a phenomenal job. The only question is, does she want to give up her job as a Senator. I mean after leaving the State Department she’d be known as a “Former Secretary of State.” What kind of jobs to former Secretaries of State get besides speaking engagements? What’s with all the animosity towards Bill Clinton by the way? So many people argue that she would bring him along as excess baggage. Excess baggage?! Really, a former President who’s hugely popular and even more intelligent?! If I were Obama, I’d want his advice and Obama being the intelligent man that he is, probably wants his advice as well!

Everyone is missing the point. Change ooesn’t necessarily mean all new faces. Its means that the people who have the experience to make the change happen (think policies) are the best choices. We will have change. It just may be that in some instances the change will be brought to us by familiar people who are finally able to fulfill their promise and ours.

As a long time Obama supporter I think he would be wise to offer her the SecState. In spite of all the things I didn’t like about her campaign, there is no denying her intellect and experience. I can picture her, and Biden with Obama in the Oval office during a crisis. Obama has the final word, and I trust him. Their voices would differ, but the options would be clear. After 8 years of the idiots, this is a team I could believe in.

Having Hilary Clinton as Sec. of State would be the best thing this Admin. could do. I truly think when the Clintons were in the White House it was Hilary who ran this country. I think she was telling Bill what to do. I truly wished she would have won over Obama in the primaries. If she would have won I think she would have gone all the way to the top. She is very intelligent and seems to be a very straight shooter(and I don’t mean moose shootin)LOL. So,hopefully she will except this invitation and we can get the ball rolling in the right direction again.

US is 41st in the world in life expectancy and 40 in infant mortality. These are important measurements of our true standing in the world! US is obviously in now in steady decline. If you read Kevin Philips books will open your eyes. US owes 14.5 trillion debt to foreigners! While we are spending 700 Billion in Iraq, while our own home is utter disarray; our roads and bridges, transportation, schools and housing situation is shambles, homelessness is spreading. (Remember Ronald Reagan’s “No Regulations” “No taxes” “Small government” politics started us down this road) We can’t go to any public place any more without been haunted by these helpless people, like in pre-revolutionary Russia!) Our banks and financial institutions have collapsed, food prices shooting up, energy shortage looming, our power grid falling apart. America has a huge national and international debt. Nearly 50 million of our citizens have no health insurance and health care costs going higher and higher, obesity and diabetes is now epidemic, nearly 50 million on disability payments, 45 million on food stamps, pensions and social security, illicit immigration out of control and Most people in our country have no access to health care. Our healthcare system is rated 37th in the world! Meanwhile US have the highest prison population in the world, most people incarcerated and crime, murder and gun violence rampant. We are unhealthy, eating processed food, with too many addictives, and hormones. We are more religious than ever, too fat and disable, poorly educated, taking more pharmaceutical dugs and flushing everything down to our water table. We are brainwashed by TV commercials. We are trashing, consuming and polluting. The drug epidemic, HIV in the black community and in the gay community, the crime is rampant in inner city communities and in everywhere in US southern states. HIV and AIDS among African Americans and Gay men are exploding. Washington D.C has a higher HIV and AIDS rate than Haiti! US now quickly falling apart─ it will be a huge task to put all of it back together, back to the way it was before George Bush became president! We graduate less than 60,000 engineers a year, and that is lower than a small country in Asia like South Korea. China, Russia, India– graduates many times more engineers and scientists than we do! Our auto industry is has collapsed already, just like the banks, credit cards, prime, near prime, sub- prime mortgages, student loans, commercial real estate, home equity, Corporate bonds, state and municipal borrowing; the entire American financial system has collapsed! There’s no real surprise that once “almighty US dollar” is collapsing. For example, when Ronald Reagan became president there was 360 Yen per 1 US dollar. Today it is about 100 Yen per 1 dollar! The media talking heads tell you “oh, this is great for our exports!” Really, what exports? For last thirty years dollar collapsed continued against Yen. On the contrary we import lot from Japan, and China. We import 700 billion dollars worth of goods we can’t pay for. We save more than 10% of our income in the seventies. Today it’s down to less than 0.3%. Along with our economic collapse our place in the world as a world power, prestige and influence is quickly sinking. WE have huge clunking, army, navy and an air force, just like the Soviet Union did when it collapsed! My friends in Europe refer to US as ‘the richest third world country in the world.’ If you have dollars in your pocket and traveling in Europe or in Japan as an American you will feel that you are from a poor country! It was Ronal Regan is the one who got us really started on the road to decline, with all his good intentions. He brought a whole generation of very close minded and provincial people who had been running out country; who had been waging a war against science and good education that would have kept us competitive in the world. Today, we can’t go anyplace in America without risking some sort harassment; a young woman can’t walk down a public any street of this “great country” of ours without being, insulated, assaulted or murdered! Meanwhile the Republican party using the “tax” issue as a threat successfully held on to the power for past few decades but they are squarely responsible for most of this decline of American is now facing. They have brought us most ignorant, incompetent and corrupt administration from Ronald Reagan to George W. Bush who took us down this past of spectacular self undoing. And Republicans did all these damage to America, to sound of military trumpets and while waving of starts and stripes in the background. We all know about the foolish talk on TV with flag-pin glinting on the lapels. The Republican congress and their polices have done much to got us into this a huge mess. They have disabled or dismantled all government means of managing the country. Over the years we saw how America was destroyed. Only Bill Clinton succeeded reversing the decline and made significant progress as a nation. We were prosperous with a surplus with a nearly a half a trillion and popular and well respected around the world. American power and prosperity was at its zenith! What our country desperately need is something like “Clinton Model” back. It would have been wonderful for the sake of our country to have a Clinton in the White House, to save us very urgently for our country’s sake, and for the sake of the world. But now since that is not possible let’s have at least one Clinton back in the government to save us from sliding over the existential edge!

Great speech Arnold to McCain’s rally a couple weeks ago. Thanks but no thanks to your anemic advice. Obama and his smart advisors should know better in picking their future cabinet members.
Now focus more on the fires and current financial deficit that’s occuring in our state of California.

Does anyone really think Hillary will accept any cabinet position? She still wants to run for president and will probably run in 2012 when Obama’s tax increases send more jobs overseas and decreases American jobs further. Sorry, she isn’t that stupid, she has decided to wait until Obama runs us into the ground and sends all jobs to other countries before she decides anything. She will not be in an Obama cabinet at all.

One can only admire President Elect Obama. He really does always attempt to reach across to others. But can he trusts her? Something tells me, no, not a chance. She is bitter and many of her supporters are too! Isn’t that why the very obvious Rothschild publically supported McCain? If you think that the Clintons had nothing to do with that, then I am a white alien from Pluto!!!!!!!!!

We all have a right to our opinions.
Some may not see Hillary as best choice for SOS and state that if we wanted her for POTUS we would have voted for her.
Well, not to worry SOS is 4th on the list to become president if something happens to the ones before her.
SOS is mainly involved with our diplomatic relations with other countries; I keep it good faith that whomever Obama chooses will be the best person for the job.

Dave said: “WHAT THE HECK IS GREAT ABOUT HILLARY?!?! NAME “ONE” THING THIS WOMAN HAS DONE FOR OUR COUNTRY OR THE STATE SHE’S A JR. SENATOR IN. SHE’S BILL’S WIFE AND THAT’S IT! WHAT A JOKE!”
Go look up her accomplishments yourself, she has plenty of them. More than Obama, frankly, he was only in the Senate a year and a half before he started campaigning! What exactly has Obama accomplished besides writing two books?!
While HRC’s more than qualified and I would feel more safe knowing she was SoS, I have mixed feelings on it. She would have less of a pathway to run against Obama in 2012 if he is a mess. On the other hand, if Obama does a great job then HRC could be SoS for 2 years and then run for Governor of NY in 2010. Should be interesting either way.

To those that do misunderstand the frase change. Change has come to Washington, by removing the party actualy governing the country with a different one, been the democratic party the change. So now is the President-elect’s choice to name the best players to his team to afford him the best opportunities to make the policy changes needed to move the country to the stature it once had in the world. By electing him, the first Black Presidednt of the USA, is a big enough change. If those looking for other type of change, like turning the table upside down, that’s not the change the American people is looking for. He is on the right track, and God willing he will become the best President ever, he talking unity, not division, together, not separate, because togather as a Nation, we can be triumphant and respected, not like today, that we are hated and alianated from the rest of the world. Something we were not so many years back. Lets walk together towards our future and the future of the world as the standard.

People,,
Get over it, Barack Obama, is the next President of the USA, it means he is the President of all Americans, to those that have a different view, now there is nothing they can do but get behind their Commander in Chief and lend a hand to get the US economy out of the mess we are in right now. It is not time to start putting blame, the elections ara over and the people spoke. So again lets unite behind our President to start a new era, to start the recontruction of the economy. Creating jobs for the unemployed, working to get more energy efficient, lowering golbal warming, getting healthcare reform available to all, getting us out of Irak, hunting down Osama Bin Laden, and doing the appropriate with him, improving the no child left behind, our education system
so that the American Dream once againg can be within our grasp if you wish for
it and work for it as hard as you can. That is what America has been about and will continue to be only if we are together for the same cause, not for division and petty stuff, we are in the treshhold of the 21rst century, we are moving forward, not backwards. Of course you may disagree, but once the score is settled, move on in cooperation for the better view and wisdoom. Yes, wisdom, which means good sound decision making for the benefit of all not just a few. By been bitter you miss the opportunity to be part of the progress to gain by the wise actions of our Government.

Some people here don’t make sens. They keep singing the song that President Obama, will raise taxes. To those hard to hear, let me say this. OBAMA, WILL RAISE TAXES TO THOSE EARNING MORE THAN $250,000.00 a year. Did you listen to him. to those earnig this amount, not more their taxes will decrease to taxes paid under Bill Clinton’s era. More than 95% of middle class workers will not be paying any tax. Small businesses will get a tax break for job creation and will not be paying capital gain taxes. Industries that do not, repeat, do not outsourse jobs, will be given an incentive of tax break, if you make $50,000.00 or less a year, you will not, again I repeat, will not be paying any taxes at all. If you are deaf I do not expect you to hear, but if you can read, I cannot comprehend why you do not or cannot understand this premise as clear as it is. Is it maybe that you are another of those that has gone into negation, because a Black American was elected to be President and you cannot swallow him for the color of his skin? To you I say grow up, and move forward, the world has begun to change, we are leaving the 18 hundreds and 19 and 20th century ethnic feeling way behind. If you want to stay back in those dark years, so be it, but let progresive people do what they most, that is progress and move to a better world living conditions. That can be accoplished more easyly if we come together, if otherwise it will be a little harderd but nevertheless we will survive to all of the negative bumps that might be on the way, this is not new to the American people, we have done it before and will yet do it again, and again, and again, and again.

Now is the time for unity. Let’s leave partisan aside and work for a better America. We will be the product of our deeds, be them good or bad. If the choice is this, then lets pick the good.
Have a nice day you all.

As far as foreign policy goes, I believe Bill Richardson’s US Abassador to the UN gives him an edge over Hillary, though she has travelled all over the world and met with many different leaders. Richardson still has an edge on her as far as world leaders way of thinking and excecuting their policies by knowing first hand of the way they think and have expressed their government views on matters concerning the differnet policies discussed at the UN. If that is not good sound foreign policy baggage, I sure don’t know what is. Besides foreign policy, there is local policy, the hispanic constituency are calling for Richardson’s electability to the SOS spot, but I also think he is a grade A-1 on Energy Policy, he’s been and advocate for green energy for a long time and I believe that is also a slot that he can have much success in. He has been a cabinet member and that gives him some insight of how to go about getting things done, getting good end results.

To NYDem12, and Tom,,
Though you strike me no boubt as been the same person. Your language is a little offbeat, you may disagree on Richarson’s choice, certainly he is not a bafume, and women hating bitches? is language that should not be admitted in this space, regardless of first, second ammendments. We all can disagree without been disagreeable, further anyone that expresses himself as thou art, brings shame to himself and his peers. Like I said, you may disagree, without been disagreeable, and you are that, disagreeable. Pitty, you lack manners and respect for others of a different view and thoughts. You act like where you live and roam, ertainly not in a civil and peaceloving neighborhood, is sounds more like a small area of Washington Heights, or Dekalb Ave. Brooklyn and or late Fort Apache in the area of Simpson St.Southern Boulevard and Kelly St. and Intervale Ave., that’s the kind of lingo they are acustom to garner. That is been ugly.

Everyone knows Obama doesn’t want either clinton near his administration, so why are we hyping the whole hillary as secretary of state thing? He’s going to pick either Kerry or Richardson. This whole discussion is probably being pushed by lanny davis who wants to see hillary in the administration…
Either way, its not the right position for her. she’d be better handling domestic issues.

Posted by: michelle | November 16, 2008, 8:31 pm 8:31 pm

Whatever happens, obama owes hillary something if not a position in the administration. she worked her ass off campaigning for him even though it probably killed her the whole time thinking how close she got. She did more than any other party rival candidate has ever done in the past despite the media bitching that she wasn’t doing enough. He should help pay off her debt or something..

I am laughing hysterically here. Obama is nothing more than a Clinton wannabee. A Clinton-Lite. I’d take Bill and Hillary any day over this joke. He has surrounded himself with all the old Clintonistas, and hopes he can recreate the 1990′s booming economy, leaving a budget surplus and create millions of jobs, but he will never do it, not even by putting the old Clinton team back together. He doesn’t have the experience Bill Clinton had in governing a state for 8 years, no budget experience, no vision, no policies except those he stole from Hillary during the primaries, he has NOTHING except the old hope-a-dope slogan here. Of course he wants Hillary. That way when someone asks him a question which he of course won’t know unless old David Axlerod scripts it for him, he can just buzz Hillary and say, uh, uh, Hillary, uh, what do you think I should do here? You people that voted for him are about to have one helluva hangover from all that Kool Aid you’ve been drinking. And I’m loving it.

Richard Rodriguez, let me tell you something about Obama and raising taxes. While US Senator, he voted for a bill that didn’t pass, thankfully, that would have raised taxes for anyone making more than $46,000. That’s right, $46,000 not $250,000. They kept changing that figure after Obama used it and if you really think he is a man of his word, you will find out the truth eventually. I guess you do have the right to believe any lies you want to. That is what makes this America. Good luck to you when he raises taxes for everyone.

Below is my open letter to President Obama & VP Biden. I appreciate if you share this with others.
================
One of the penalties for refusing to participate in politics is that you end up being governed by your inferiors.
–Plato–
================
Dear President Obama & VP Biden,
Re. Secretary of State Selection vs. Senator H. Clinton:
We helped during campaign & voted for you both, all the way from primary to final election not because how you look like but because your ideas & policies (including foreign policy); and not only because YOUR ideas & policies but also because we DID NOT like other candidates ideas & policies; like H. Clinton, J. McCain, and J. Lieberman. But you are bringing the same people that we opposed to, back to the game – to your team.
It’s good to reach across the aisle but not shifting to the other side of the aisle. Plus, reaching across the aisle shouldn’t have more priority than selecting the right candidate with the same vision & policy ideas as you for the job. After all, that’s what we voted for you both, otherwise we’d voted for them. Is there a “Reach-Across-Aisle” competition or noble prize somewhere that you are going for and we’ve missed?  What is next? Bringing McCain, Lieberman, Bush, and Cheney to the board too? Is this the big CHANGE you were talking about? You are bringing the same old stuff – same old failed policies that Senator Clinton has supported and screamed about over & over during her campaign, which you yourself were oppose to. If you think by doing this you’ll gain some more votes from people, please let me remind you (in case if it hasn’t sank for you yet): Mr. Obama & Biden, election is already over, you got elected, you don’t need more votes from people; now you need more votes from House & Senate; so, Mrs. Clinton is better off to be in Senate to support and vote for your policies.
Your campaign supporter & volunteer,
Tim W.

I think selecting Hiliary for Secretary of State is a dangerous choice because frankly she’s not too terribly honest but what “polician” is? She’s learned the game, (game I certainly would want to play) but President-elect Obama better watch his back. There are so few women that can handle power positions and I’m a woman with a very strong opinion. The vary day after Bill Clinton was sworn into office she tried to take charge and has had rough roads on the trail ever since. Arrogance is a weakness, not a strength.
