The DaPalin Code

Asked by CNN’s Wolf Blitzer if she had any new initiatives to introduce to the Republican Governors’ Association to help the GOP out of its rut, Gov. Sarah Palin yesterday said:

"Sitting here in these chairs that I’m going to be proposing but in working with these governors who again on the front lines are forced to and it’s our privileged obligation to find solutions to the challenges facing our own states every day being held accountable, not being just one of many just casting votes or voting present every once in a while, we don’t get away with that. We have to balance budgets and we’re dealing with multibillion dollar budgets and tens of thousands of employees in our organizations."

What does that mean?

Writing at the American Conservative, Daniel Larson says he’s cracked the Palin code:

"I have concluded that the problem that so many people have in understanding what Palin is saying is that we make the mistake of assuming that all of the words have some reason for being there," Larson writes. "What we have to do instead is decrypt her message by filtering out all of the confusing chatter that keeps her statements encoded and difficult to follow. Let’s take the first sentence, and identify the essential elements in bold:

"Sitting here in these chairs that I’m going to be proposing but in working with these governors who again on the front lines are forced to and it’s our privileged obligation to find solutions to the challenges facing our own states every day being held accountable, not being just one of many just casting votes or voting present every once in a while, we don’t get away with that.

"See? If you just cut out about 60 percent of what she says, it hangs together nicely. By comparison, the second sentence is a piece of cake. Pretty much every word in the second sentence serves a function. Once reporters and voters acquire sufficient training in Palinonics, there should be no more misunderstandings."

Writing in Slate last month, Kitty Burns Florey set out to diagram Palin’s sentences.

She got lost in this one from the Charlie Gibson interview: "I know that John McCain will do that and I, as his vice president, families we are blessed with that vote of the American people and are elected to serve and are sworn in on January 20, that will be our top priority is to defend the American people."

Writes Florey: "To me, it’s not English — it’s a collection of words strung together to elicit a reaction, floating ands and prepositional phrases ("with that vote of the American people") be damned. It requires not a diagram but a selection of push buttons."

Are “ands” better or worse than “uh”? Just curious!
Why still so obsessed with Palin? She must have really gotten under your skin. She is no long a VP candidate, yet I see all these replies in the blogs about Sarah, why all the interest.

I thought being able to communicate clearly was something taught in journalism schools. It’s too bad that colleges can’t recall degrees. The good sisters who taught me in Catholic schools would have a heart attack over such mish mash in sentence structure.

tell this woman and the morons defending her (like the one on here…lol)

Jake can you have your expert translate this BO quote please? Thanks.
“What they’ll say is, “Well it costs too much money,” but you know what? It would cost, about… It — it — it would cost about the same as what we would spend… It… Over the course of 10 years it would cost what it would costs us… (nervous laugh) All right. Okay. We’re going to… It… It would cost us about the same as it would cost for about — hold on one second. I can’t hear myself. But I’m glad you’re fired up, though. I’m glad.”
How many ridiculous things has Biden said?
You obviously have an interest in trying to destroy this woman and her future. What SP said above was clearly not well communicated but is it necessary for you to be waiting in the wings to catch every mistake that she makes and then write a “news” story to fuel the hate towards her? What purpose does this serve other than to advance an agenda?
You don’t do it to BO, you don’t do it to Joe Biden. What’s with the vendetta against Sarah Palin?

The GOP guys are truly sick of the “nutcase” and the ego thing she has going on. However, they created the show and they have to man up and rid themselves of her! I thought the Press conference was soooooooooo funny especially when Perry stepped in….. I guess he said she is not going to destroy the Party any further with “run on sentences and no thought process”… Now that should be a part on “SNL” and the “America’s Funnies Videos”… I would buy… I nearly peeved on myself from laughing so hard and she stood there like a 1st grader not knowing what to do! Still Laughing!

And then the way he physically moved her away from the microphone and said the press conference was over! I guess for fear of looking sexist no one has the guts to just say it like they see it. They had a long meeting after the interviews and decided they had to shut her up…She destoyed the speech they put together… I was laughing too! She is a piece of work… She needs some help mentally! I see why they had her on the leash! The interviews and the media should be a shame of themselves. They knew she would not do well and they wanted to make a fool of her. They did! While suturing a cut on the hand of a 75 year old rancher, who’s hand was caught in the gate while working cattle, the doctor struck up a conversation with the old man. Eventually the topic got around to Palin and her bid.
The old rancher said, “Well, ya know, Palin is a ‘Post Turtle’.”
Not being familiar with the term, the doctor asked him what a ‘Post Turtle’ was.
The old rancher said, “When you’re driving down a country road you come across a fence post with a turtle balanced on top, that’s a ‘Post Turtle’.”
The old rancher saw the puzzled look on the doctor’s face so he continued to explain. “You know she didn’t get up there by herself, she don’t belong up there, she don’t know what to do while she’s up there, and you just wonder what kind of dummy put her up there to begin with.”

Yes, when you look at the sheer bandwidth dedicated to Palin bashing vs trying to figure out exactly how Paulson increasing the leverage will help the economy, you realize that no one has a solution. Palin is a convenient distraction while the experts try to find a rock to toss at the wolves at the door of the American economy.

Anybody who has ever raised a teenager can decipher Palinese. When they are basically telling the truth, they speak in monosyllables, or sometimes even coherent sentences which make sense. When they are either lying or haven’t done what they are supposed to have done (like, say, homework), they fill their sentences with nonsense in an attempt to distract you. It’s not complicated, journalists. You either say: “Nice try, but answer my question. Now.” or you say “You did not answer the question. Is there a reason you’re lying, or do you want one more chance to tell the truth?” Debaters are the worst.

Mr. Larson may have the time to ‘decode’ Palin’s massacred English, but I seriously doubt that the American public does. Is this the English language all Alaskans use, or is this just Palin’s version of Enlish?
Instead of trying to promote herself as possibly the next POTUS [God in heaven please spare us that nightmare], or the next Alaskan Senator, she should be enrolled in school to learn how to speak the English language, civics, geography and vital issues facing all of us, be these subjects current or historical. Until she does that, she will remain as IGNORANT AND LACKING IN KNOWLEDGE as a child. Someone needs to tell her this NOW.
Moreover, she needs to spend some QUALITY TIME with those children of hers. That is a pitiful scene! To see her youngest daughter carry the baby around as though ‘she’ is the mother instead of Palin, is sad. It’s reminescent of a child having a child. It appears that they lack a mom who has time for them, either individually or collectively. No wonder her eldest daughter is pregnant. What a pathetic scenario.

A-hah! I always knew Palin was a ditz head. And this blog of Jake’s trying to decipher her finally proves it. The Dumbing Down of America was a very real event and promulgated by the republicans in order to get by with their corruption. Sarah Palin is merely the consequence of such action and would have served well to the dumbed down population. Thankfully, the American voter realized how foolish and corrupt republicans were and voted them out just in the nick of time. Whoops there it is!!!!!

I thought journalism is Sara’s major. English subject is a requirement when taking journalism. Somebody needs to KICK this woman out of politics, she just DOESN’T HAVE IT. By Sara staying in, she’s lowering the bar for the presidency and vp position. SHE’S MAKING A FOOL OF HERSELF. She should go back to school if she’s to continue to compete for the highest office of the U.S.

YES, the important thing SHOULD BE deciphering Joe Biden who will be one of the “families we are blessed with …to defend the American people”. What did he mean by us driving the Hezbollah out of Lebanon? Wishful thinking, transposition of Syrian military for Hez militia, or what? Why did he think Barack was taking his shotgun which turns out to be a Baretta in the same sentence? Is he right? What exactly did he mean by no coal power in US while 50% of electricity is generated by that source!? Maybe “Sitting here in these chairs that I’m going to be proposing”, we can all find out how Biden will really help Obama or take over for him if necessary.
He can tell the unvarnished truth quite honestly “Watch — we’re going to have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy,” and tell you little inconvienent truths on the likelihood of encountering Indians at the convenience store.
Perhaps “Sitting here in these chairs that I’m going to be proposing”, would be the fitting ending to the plea “Stand up, Chuck. Let them see you! Oh, God love you, what am I talking about?”
God love him, that’s what we should be talking about.

Palin supporters all seem to offer a version of the following message:
You libs are all scared of Sarah. Go, Sarah, go.
Okay, I’m reducing the Palin support message to essentials, but for a point. My question is this, what makes us seem “scared” of Palin? Most anti-Palin posts seem to either express exasperation at her antics or schadenfreude that she is eviscerating the Republican Party from inside. I don’t get where the “scared” is in evidence. But I sincerely believe that a Palin supporter will reply to my post that I’m only saying this because I’m somehow scared.
I think the worst you could say of me is that I’m addicted to Palin and anticipate watching a long, slow, downward spiral, culminating in celebrity television appearances where she wrestles Tonya Harding, long after her political aspirations have been throttled by fiscal conservatives who, if they must have a social conservative at the top of the ticket, will insist on a more predictable one.

samhiguchi, I’ll answer your question as to why all the interest in Palin. It’s because she is trying to rehabilitate her image this week [after the Gibson and especially the Couric interviews she is trying to eradicate]. By continually speaking, she hopes that the electorate will not hold those FIRST IMPRESSION interviews AGAINST her or possibly even forget they even exist. She can then promote herself as our next POTUS [God Almighty have mercy on us] or possibly our next Alaskan Senator.
How would that affect our country? It would be a NIGHTMARE and make FREDDY KRUGER look like a love story!

This is all getting so old. The campaign is over why is she being covered like this> Furthermore, why are people still so surprised by he mind numbing comments and blatant selfishness. There are news reports today that some of the governors at the press conference are unhappy because they thought it was to be a press conference about big issues and turned into a Sarah Palin event. Why are these governors, or anybody else for that matter surprised, she always is out for number one. The campaign is over, she lost. Move on from this pathetic sideshow.

Not that I’m a Sarah Palin fan, except in the looks department, but this is pretty atrociously unfair. That’s a verbal transcript, done by a bad transcriptionist who doesn’t know how to punctuate and more likely than not missed a few words. All it needs is a little tidying up, to wit:
Blitzer: Do you have any new initiatives to introduce to the Republican Governors’ Association to help the GOP out of its rut?
Gov. Sarah Palin:
“[Not while we're s]itting here in these chairs that I’m going to be proposing. But in working with these governors, who again [are] on the front lines [and] are forced to – and it’s our privilege [and] obligation to – find solutions to the challenges facing our own states every day. [It's] being held accountable, not being just one of many just casting votes or voting present every once in a while. We don’t get away with that. We have to balance budgets, and we’re dealing with multibillion dollar budgets and tens of thousands of employees in our organizations.”
Poetry? I don’t think so. But as an extemporaneous answer to a stupid question she had no real answer to it wasn’t so bad. She brought it home into an attack on her opponent while bragging on her own job. A standard politico answer and you see lots of politico answers just as stupid or more so every day. The only reason you folks are ragging on it is because somebody threw it out onto the interwebs with bad punctuation, no ellipses, probably with missed words, etc.

I did not support Hillary in the primary, but she was a good runner-up behind Biden in my view.
Obama-Biden-Clinton — the good picks!

Sure, Palin could be seen as a radically postmodernist politician, deconstructing language while she speaks. Derrida is easy reading compared to a Palin interview.
Camille Paglia on the other hand compared her “style” of talking to bebop. That made me blush, in remembrance of the sheer brilliance of Parker and Gillespie.
I think it’s safe to say that Palin cannot think clearly and therefore cannot construct sentences that grammatically and/or semantically make sense.
I think it’s safe to say that being a mayor of Wasilla was already far above her IQ.
And I still would like to see a medical document that shows us that she herself gave birth to Trig. Journalists, except for Andrew Sullivan at The Atlantic, has let that issue go way too easily. She was NOT pregnant, you know. ALL reports indicate that NOBODY around her noticed anything about her being pregnant, and Palin continued to work and travel, till the very day that Trig – suddenly! – was born.

Posted by: trent | November 13, 2008, 8:32 pm 8:32 pm

The problem is that no one can understand 90% of her comments. She consistently just strings random words togther (occasionally slipping in the word or phrase of the day, i.e. “inside baseball” or “reform” or “maverick” or woefully “real America”). She needs to go away so we can rebuild our party with exceptional leaders. And no more comparing Palin to Gindal – that is wholly unfair to Jindal.
As Charles Krauthaummer said tonight on the Fox News panel, she really needs to go back to Alaska and “read” for two years. She has to develop a vocabulary, be able to speak cogently and COHERENTLY about issues before she says anything else, and it would help if she had a political philosophy that extended beyond being pro-life and chanting “drill, baby, drill.”
And can anyone believe she went back to the Joe the Plumber thing today? Please, please make her stop.

Posted by: Florida Republican | November 13, 2008, 8:33 pm 8:33 pm

Palinonics aren’t too hard to decipher in writing. But to develop an ear for her
embedded meanings would be another matter. What Palin needs is a good dubbing which eliminates the unnecessary words when she speaks, and perhaps adds a connective word, like if, here and there: For instance, this is what’s embedded in her Charlie Gibson interview:
(If) we are blessed with the vote of the American people and elected to serve, our top priority is to defend the American people.
Tipper Gore should have some expertise in Palinonics after her experience in the 90′s of exposing embedded words in music.

I can’t wait Jindal runs. Then we’ll get to pull out all the stories of when he participated in an actual exorcism. These Republicans are great!

Posted by: DJ | November 13, 2008, 8:49 pm 8:49 pm

If the Republicans are truly placing their bets on Palin for future party leadership, do they realize that each day she continues to crash the national stage and consume the limelight unnecessarily, is a day that future voters are repeatedly reminded of her intellectual bankruptcy and a day that reduces the distance between when Palin was stupid way back in 2008 and when Palin was still stupid in, say 2012?
Continuing at this rate and in consideration of any future run for elected office, the portion of the oppo file labeled “substance” is going to be huge, thanks to these little memorialized “gems” by Palin.

Does Palin have a dyslexic speaking pattern? Is there such a thing?
This would explain her rambling thoughts and disjointed sentences.
It would also explain her lack of knowledge since she would have trouble reading and understanding the written word.
Where else would you find evidence to corroborate this theory?

It’s wonderful that Sarah Palin has
introduced a new language to the country. PALINESE.

Posted by: Cathy | November 13, 2008, 9:28 pm 9:28 pm

George Orwell had something to say on this topic. This is a problem with ‘new speak’. Florey has it about right, there are some phrases that are familiar to right wingers that she recites and it doesn’t matter what order they are in or if they make sense at all. The functionally fascist will hear what she says, and think ‘she’s saying all the right things’. What does it say about our society that this kind of groupthink gains any adherents at all? There are millions of people who voted for this woman. Scary.

Posted by: Flash Override | November 13, 2008, 9:35 pm 9:35 pm

Sarah hates reading aloud in class. She’s never been a good reader, and even when she recognizes the words on the page, she seems to have trouble saying them correctly. School’s never been her favorite place anyway because her teachers always complain about her writing and her spelling. She often gets discouraged, thinking that she’s not as smart as other students.
Fortunately, Sarah has discovered she has talents that others don’t. She’s great at dreaming up costume and scenery ideas in drama club, and she’s one of the best artists in her school. Sometimes she wonders how she can do so well in some areas of her life and so poorly in others.
What Sarah, her parents, and her teachers don’t realize is that Sarah has dyslexia.
Nah, that’s not it.

Scared of Palin? Sure, when there was a chance this nutcase could be a 72-year-old heartbeat from ruining what Bush is leaving of our country. Now I’m afraid she’ll go away. Beyond the entertainment value, she could be the utter ruination of the right. I can’t wait until she decides to go on a Sunday talk show. I just have one request: please, press corps, start asking her more policy questions. Try, say, regulation of mortgage default swaps or hedge funds. Can you imagine? Who needs Tina Fey when you have the real thing? As to those who say we’re picking on her, she’s doing this to herself. We’re just pointing it out.

Posted by: Nomo Stew | November 13, 2008, 9:47 pm 9:47 pm

The problem with Palin is that she is thinking and answering simultaneously. If she would slow down and think first, she just might be coherent. Also, she doesn’t know when to stop, diarrhea of the mouth.

Trickster,
Thanks so much for trying to talk sense about the Palin transcription. Not that many will listen– they have their cherished belief that the woman is a drooling idiot and they will not allow facts to stand in the way of their preconceptions.
As you pointed out, part of the reason this statement sounds garbled is bad transcription. I saw the interview when it aired and I remember this answer. Wolfe asked her if she had a Palin policy she wanted to outline. She was scheduled to speak the next day at the conference, where she was going to lay out her vision and he was, in effect, asking for a preview. She declined, saying something along the lines, “no, not sitting here in these chairs. That I’ll be proposing…” and then she started talking about what she and the other governors do. She was saying, no, I have nothing to announce here and now, but I will be talking about my proposals later on. The transcript could easily be punctuated to reflect that.
In addition, if you look at the transcript of the entire interview, available, for example, on the Halperin page of the Time website, you will quickly notice that Mr. Tapper helpfully chose the most rambling answer the woman gave. She made tons of easily understood, completely coherent statements, but none of them seem to draw much interest here. I’m not surprised.
Finally, I would point out that this is an interview, and she is not speaking from a script. Therefore it is not surprising that some of her responses do not flow out in complete, perfectly formed, easily diagrammable sentences. That is the nature of extemporaneous speech. I am a college professor, and when I am lecturing, I sometimes wind up starting a sentence going in one direction and wind up moving in some other direction and getting tangled in my words. The students understand what I am saying. But even after decades in the classroom, I do not speak without notes the same way I do when I am wedded to a written text. But overall, my teaching is more effective when I do not stick to a script. So its a trade-off I make. I would hate to think anyone would ever post a transcript of one of my lectures. There would be plenty of sentences that would make me hang my head in shame, even with my degree in English. And yet my students, by and large, love my lectures and learn from me.
I am more interested in the points Palin was making– like the fact that governors have to balance budgets and manage employees. I thought she had useful and thoughtful things to say.

Posted by: moderate | November 13, 2008, 9:48 pm 9:48 pm

Here we go;
“Dyslexia is a language processing disorder, so it can affect all forms of language, either spoken or written.
Some people have milder forms of dyslexia, so they may have less trouble in these other areas of spoken and written language. Some people work around their dyslexia, but it takes a lot of effort and extra work. Dyslexia isn’t something that goes away on its own or that a person outgrows. Fortunately, with proper help, most people with dyslexia learn to read. They often find different ways to learn and use those strategies all their lives.”

Posted by: seemstome | November 13, 2008, 9:53 pm 9:53 pm

Dyslexia would explain why Palin could be intelligent and yet still sound like she has no depth of knowledge on any subject.
It would also explain her rambling speech patterns. The way she talks is really the way she thinks.
How does she deal with her governorship?
Todd Palin helps her. He isn’t called the “shadow governor” for nothing.

Posted by: seemstome | November 13, 2008, 10:02 pm 10:02 pm

moderate:
Hopefully Palin is not a “drooling idiot”, but does she have the vision, insight and intellectual rigor required at the vice-presidential or presidential level?
I hardly think so after the interviews we saw throughout the campaign and now afterwards.
And as much as she may be able to tell us Governors have to balance budgets and manage employees, isn’t that something a good student of civics might also be able to tell us?
Without a doubt, I am biased. I have found the woman annoying, trite and a liar from the very beginning.

I believe Palin needs work to become more polished, including in speaking off the cuff, but was no more unprepared than others who leave one job in government and go to another, although in this case the circumstances of suddenly being the VP candidate made her look bad. There were many mistakes made in presenting her.
A comment on this quote, though:
“She got lost in this one from the Charlie Gibson interview: ‘I know that John McCain will do that and I, as his vice president, families we are blessed with that vote of the American people and are elected to serve and are sworn in on January 20, that will be our top priority is to defend the American people.’”
What if “families” was simply changed to “if.” Then it is still not grammatically perfect, but fluent enough by speaking (versus writing) standards and it also makes sense. I wonder exactly how and why “families” got in there – if it was her shifting thoughts while saying it or a mistaken transcript.

Palin uses a disarming personality to promote a radical philosophy. She claims God belongs in government.
If her thoughts seem confusing to people it’s because she’s dyslexic.
If her philosophy seems dangerous it’s because it’s a threat to freedom.
All of this will become more apparent

Andrew Sullivan, the libertarian conservative, summed it up best about Palin:
Given this, Andrew Sullivan had a very compelling item explaining why Palin may be history, but “she is history that matters.”
Let’s be real in a way the national media seems incapable of: this person should never have been placed on a national ticket in a mature democracy. She was incapable of running a town in Alaska competently. The impulsive, unvetted selection of a total unknown, with no knowledge of or interest in the wider world, as a replacement president remains one of the most disturbing events in modern American history. That the press felt required to maintain a facade of normalcy for two months — and not to declare the whole thing a farce from start to finish — is a sign of their total loss of nerve. That the Palin absurdity should follow the two-term presidency of another individual utterly out of his depth in national government is particularly troubling. 46 percent of Americans voted for the possibility of this blank slate as president because she somehow echoed their own sense of religious or cultural “identity”. Until we figure out how this happened, we will not be able to prevent it from happening again. And we have to find a way to prevent this from recurring. [...]
This deluded and delusional woman still doesn’t understand what happened to her; still has no self-awareness; and has never been forced to accept her obvious limitations. She cannot keep even the most trivial story straight; she repeats untruths with a ferocity and calm that is reserved only to the clinically unhinged; she has the educational level of a high school drop-out; and regards ignorance as some kind of achievement. It is excruciating to watch her — but more excruciating to watch those who feel obliged to defend her.
It’s not quite that we “don’t seem to be able to get enough of Sarah Palin”; it’s that we were the victim of a painful and consequential practical joke. We haven’t quite come to terms with what’s transpired.

Posted by: devilkev | November 14, 2008, 1:12 am 1:12 am

I used the suggested decoding method on one of Palin’s infamous responses from the Couric interview. I’ve set off the only meaningful words in capital letters:
“That’s why I say I, like every American **I’M** speaking with, we’re ill about this position that we have been put in. Where it is the taxpayers looking to bail out. But ultimately, what the bailout does is help those who are concerned about the health care reform that is needed to help shore up our economy. Um, helping, oh, it’s got to be about job creation, too. Shoring up our economy, and putting it back on the right track. So health care reform and reducing taxes and reining in spending has got to accompany tax reductions, and tax relief for Americans, and trade – we have got to see trade as opportunity, not as, uh, competitive, um, **SCARY** thing, but one in five jobs created in the trade sector today. We’ve got to look at that as more opportunity. All of those things under the umbrella of job creation.”

I don’t put much stock into what Palin says, which is often contradictory:
1. Today Palin said to the Republican governors “Let us resolve not to be the negative party,” but she’s clearly the smear expert and queen fearmonger. Just yesterday she attacked Obama about Bill Ayers again!
2. She also said “The campaign is over, let us look to the future,” but at her keynote speech went back over her campaign adventures (including Joe the Plumber), sounding like a broken recording of her campaign speeches.
3. She’s clearly plotting to run for president or VP or senator, but all the while saying “I’m going to serve the people of Alaska best by being governor!”
4. Many times after bitter complaints about media maltreatment she’ll turn right around, “And I say that not complaining about it, just facing reality the way that it was on the trail and the treatment by the media. And I’m not complaining about it.”
Sarah Palin is an oxymoron, with delusions of grandeur. She thinks she’s God’s gift to America.

If the Republican base is okay with her disjointed sentences, it only shows that the so-called base consists of illetrates and semi-literates who are no better.

Now that the people of Alaska knows how dumb and stupid their governor is, they won’t vote for her again if she runs for a position.Never ever!!! She has to shut up her big mouth and just take care of her kids and her first dude.

Jon… Thank GOD for the Voting Rights Act of 1964, Desegregation and the constitutional amendments which ended slavery, granted citizenship to African Americans, and also prohibited race for being a barrier to vote. Stop being a bitter racist!! Plus, no one is preventing you from leaving!!

During the CNN interview, Wolf Blitzer read off a string of questions from viewers who voted for Obama.
Unable to handle the pressure, Palin asked,”Got any questions from anybody who voted for McCain?” (Read: Wolf, I’d like to use one of my lifelines.)

Thanks Jake for bringing this up. I know my husband and I were sitting at the dinner table watching CNN and shaking our heads. Even after all the recent interviews she has given she still doesn’t make any sense. I’m an Independent, so I have no blind loyalty to either party, but if the Republicans continue to use her to represent them they will continue to lose elections. Crist, Jindal, Pawlenty, or even Romney would be much better ambassadors for their party.

Sarah Palin is now the face of the GOP.
An ignorant and intellectually challenged woman is now the face of the Republican Party.
Each time she talks, she gets me confused. Its always as if I am listening to latin or greek.
You know, as they say,”in the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king. Isn’t that ridiculous?

SEO Links, this is what the American peoples need enough cheapest oil supply from their daily needs.
During the oil hike price reaching more than 100 US$ per barrel, what happened to you bro. and to all Obamanians supporters?
Blaming Pres. Bush? You’re quietly misled by imagination coz’ OPEC is the one who dictated the world yah!
So, Gov. Palin is quietly right to invest exploring their resources to help not only Alaskan but the rest of states.
Now, tell us why you are not convince in her gutz to lead the American people?
Coz’she is not known or everybody afraid in her strong conviction to put the OVAL office in the right direction.

I just read the transcript of an Eisenhower press conference. Not only did he answer more than two dozen questions as compared to Palin’s 4 or 5, he answered in English. He used little to no empty wording. I found no resemblance between Palin and Eisenhower.

Ahhhh…it’s so cute when liberals attack. They get so excited they start to drool a little bit. Unfortunatley for you, Obama will be a fundamentally flawed president and the Republicans will be able to nominate anyone and win in 2012. Your attacks on her show that you understand this and you are now trying to shape WHO the Republicans will nominate to get another faux (read liberal) Republican. It won’t work, we will nominate a strong, conservative, woman – Sarah Palin. The continuing attacks on Sarah Palin come down to this; the libs know that she is conservative and simply does not care whether she gets your praise. She will not be coaxed into moving to the left just to get along with the media. This is the real basis for these attacks they will mean nothing when Barry O takes the economy from recession to depression, invites terrorist attacks on our cities by undoing our surveillance cpabilities, and allows oil thugs to lead us around by the short hairs because he opposes energy development here in America.

I cannot understand the press coverage this woman gets. I guess it’s true that good looking people get ahead faster than others just because of their looks. She is out for herself…she has had a taste of Washington and wants to get back. Her opinion of herself is so inflated that she even thinks she should lead the republican party. Wow what an ego. There are many others there who are far more qualified and should be considered. She cannot even come up with any new ideas. She thinks the way she campaigned is the way of the future….well she is wrong. If people wanted her for v.p. they would have voted for her. People could see through her and her weakness on policy and knowledge of the Constitution became so apparent that people turned off on her. Let’s get past this person who professes such strong family values but cannot spend on week with her family after the election. She will go on any show that will have her.

Gov. Sarah speak loudly and clearly based on her experiences and desire of her heart to explain in layman’s word the truth of her vision and conviction to serve the people.
But knowingly, several people doesn’t like her coz’they are worried to have a lady President to be or either VP in this generation. In short, lack of trust to women capability and leadership.
Remember, Iron Lady and Golda Meir legacy!

Pat Napolitano Marietta. Ga.,
The press coverage of Sarah Palin comes from her beliefs. She is a conservative woman and that is a real threat to the libs world order. Women, in their view, should be happy to vote for their liberal candidates every four years and then just go away. Sarah Palin exposes this charade. For libs, it is either destroy or be destroyed.
Not too terribly difficult to understand.

demayumo,
Thanks for the clarification.
But I wish to defer in your adulation of Sarah Palin.
Her eventual rejection by the Womenfolk, who had initially warmed up to her, was as a result of their discovery of her shallow knowledge of both Domestic and International Affairs.
The only tuft she was seen to be comfortable in was discussions that center on Alaska and Energy Independence, bridge to no where, pitbull, lipstick, Joe the Plumber, Palling around with Terrorists, thanks but no thanks.
She couldn’t think outside the box, she couldn’t think on her feet and the good and Intelligent American women, who were in need of another strong contender after Hillary Clinton’s loss of the Dems Primaries, were disappointed with her nomination.
Can you imagine an ignorant “President Sarah Palin” in a discussion with Vladmir Putin or President Medvedev?

BREAKING NEWS!!! When the President fails, the whole nation fails; so becareful what you wish for.
GWB’s last seven years is an example of a failed leadership and I don’t think any sane Citizen of the World, would wish for such an experience in the next four years.
Campaigns are over; the Presidential election is over; A winner has emerged and he will, in the next four years, determine the fate of Americans, be you Reublican or Democrat.
The least anyone can do is to pray for his success so that the world could succeed.

Yes, I can. She is a strong leader who has a set of core principles that guide her actions. I cannot however imagine Barry Obama because he lacks that foundation. He was brought up in the Saul Alinsky school of blame America first and cave into the bullies of the world or the might be mean to us. Well, the thugs of the world that want America to fail are going to be “mean” to no matter what we do. I would rather have someone in the white House who understands this and leads accordingly. The world loved Jimmy Carter but how well did that turn out for us? Foreign nations that compete with us will always love a week-kneed president – they got their guy when we elected Barry O.

Posted by: Mitch | November 14, 2008, 11:04 am 11:04 am

Mitch,
Does a President have monopoly of knowledge? Is a President expected to be super human?
The answer to this question is NO!
But is it sine quanon for a President to have a good grasp of issues? Is it necessary for a President to have good judgement? Is it necessary for a President to possess the wisdom to decipher between a good advise and a bad advise? Is it necessary for the President to earn the respect of his Team?
Answer to these questions is YES!!!
Now be the judge, can you in good conscience, say that Sarah Palin, the same woman that couldn’t earn the respect of her handlers in the McCain Campaign, the woman who has been so vilified by the same Campaign that thrust the Veepee post on her few weeks ago, can earn the respect of her Secretaries and Advisors, if the McCain ticket had won?

Posted by: Dare Nigeria | November 14, 2008, 11:16 am 11:16 am

Sarah Palin has said nothing that was racist, nor unfair. She has said nothing that cannot be supported by evidence or by genuine disagreement. You want to define any political opposition to Barry O as racist which is in itself racist. If the opposition cannot criticize the ideas, associations, and core beliefs of a black president then we are doomed as a nation. NO ONE is above criticism, especially our political leaders. The fact that you would try to quell political dissent by falsly charging racism is pathetic.

Posted by: Mitch | November 14, 2008, 11:17 am 11:17 am

Unfortunately, people don’t understand that someone’s ability to articulate is unrelated to their ability to think and lead. Palin has clearly shown that she can perform well with the latter, earning the favor of the vast majority of Alaskans. The way I see it, she thinks a lot, but she needs to slow down and spit out one thought at a time. Personally, I prefer to be led by someone who’s brian works at 100 mph instead of just a smooth talker. From my experience, people who talk a good talk usually fail to deliver.

The beauty of democracy is that not everyone is expected to vote for the Winner but once a winner has emerged, everyone is expcted to jettison all their differencies to give the winner all the support he would need to succeed.

Sometimes HATE produces the real issue in knowing the TRUTH of a person innerself and secret alibi to mislead others.
In this world of politics, several peoples dragged to commit mistakes against their fellow man.
Gossips and judging a person without basis is not acceptable in a democratic society.
This is what happened to Gov. Sarah Palin. Her opponents invented an out of context issues just to mislead us. A character assassination in a real sense, but a damageable to Gov. Sarah’s character and personality.
What else!

How tough will maverick Sarah Palin be with those nasty foreign leaders? Let’s look at the story, as told by her spokesperson Meg Stapleton, of how Sarah stood up to campaign officials.
Sarah was kept locked away in a tower hotel room with limited phone privileges, and was only allowed out to accompany John McCain at rallies. She managed to sneak in the odd phone call to Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity, but when the McCain camp found out, they were not happy campers. Then Sarah was presented with a $3,500 jacket by her stylist. She protested, “No, no, no, no, no. I would never wear this at home, I would never wear this outside of home. This is too much, this isn’t me.” But campaign officials told her she should wear the jacket. Sarah said okay and asked for a Diet Dr. Pepper. The End.

the Republican party will lose as long as they don’t admit that ‘they’, don’t look like and address the issues of America in 2008….
Repubs will always reach back to Reagan, their mythological ‘holy man’ as a guide point, without realizing that politics and the country are not a static……
…… at some point voters will choose a combination of ideas that make sense, which will lead to ‘sane & rational’ politicians getting electedregardless of party affiliation…..

Finally, we find out that the whole supposed attack on Palin from within the McCain campaign was a lie. For the open minded out there, what does this tell you. The media establishment has gone out of their way to attack this woman with things they had to have known were lies. They quoted bloggers as a source in questioning whether her own child was REALLY hers. Now they admint that someone who purposely set out to make fools of the media by startign false rumours about Governor Palin succeeded because the media WANTED the falsehood to be true. Compare this to the fawning treatment Baryy O has received. To the Barry supporters, do you really feel comfortable with a media that is become so biased? Is that really good for our country? Is it even good for you supported candidate if he feels he can now get away with anything and the press will cover for him?
A lot of people owe Governor Palin an apology, starting with Jake Tapper.

jennie, I agree our country is in trouble however now is not the time to stop questioning our leaders. Now more that ever, we as citizens need to speek up. We need to stop bad policies, whether from Democrats or Republicans. That is the motive behind critical statements made agaist Mr. Obama. I think the Palin supporters are simply looking for a little bit of balance in how their candidate is treated. If we are to pull ourselves out of the difficult situation we find ourselves in then we will need proven leadership such as that provided by Governor Palin in the state of Alaska.
There is a real question mark around Mr. Obama because the press did not properly vet him. They followed up on every possible negative comment against Sarah Palin but ignored or openly tried to defend Mr. Obama against any throrough inspection. This has caused a lot of concern over how he will govern and what he truly believes.

Someone has serious case of Palin-envy.
You can’t find anything else (that’s not made-up), so now you’re ripping her for the way she talks? Why not make fun of the accent why you’re at it?
For all the journalism majors out there, there is a distinct difference between the way people talk and how things are supposed to be written…the clue should have been the word “journalism”.
We should all have our answers prepared for us so they can be read off a teleprompter. Or, are the words “uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh” supposed to be used when speaking in public?
There is one part of her statement that you refused to look at: “not being just one of many just casting votes or voting present every once in a while, we don’t get away with that.” What she is trying to say is: Governors make touugh decisions and are held accountable. Senators and community organizers can pick an choose which items they want to address, and aren’t held accountable. Obama’s talking points and rhetoric won’t get him very far.

Matt Lauer asked Sarah Palin if her confidence was shaken after watching clips of the Couric interview. Palin’s confident answer:
“No, no, because uh, you know I’m sure that some of my impatience showed through in that uh, in that interview, um, I think it also showed though that certainly as a Washington outsider and as somebody not um, not uh, one to just, uh, I guess kinda play even the, the campaigning media game that is played in, in just repeating perhaps memorized lines in a, in an interview. That’s not me.”

In reply to the comment by Mariann Pepitone “seemstome: Obama is handicapped himself because he is a know nothing, do nothing and says nothing. Any time he reads a script he is reading the words of RFK or JFK and adding additional wording of his own. I wonder what he thought of William Ayers interview since they are excellent friends.”
JFK and RFK were good American men, patriots. They may have never faught in a war, but remember who handled the Cuban Missile Crisis. A Republican? Oh wait, that’s right. They were both DEMOCRATS! Remember who lead our country to ruin? Oh, that’s right, the Republican. Bush. I feel sorry for Lincoln, the greatest Republican to ever live. As for all these attacks on Obama about being a terrorist… DO YOU BELIEVE EVERYTHING THE REPUBLICAN PARTY SPOON FEEDS YOU? Palin aside, in debates, all McCain did was point fingers at Obama, at least Obama can answer the question at hand! I refuse to ever call the Republican party the GOP until they get someone who is articulate. Yes, obama said “uh” a lot when speaking off the top of his head. HE WAS SPEAKING FOR OVER A MILLION PEOPLE TO HEAR HIM!! If you could speak off script to all of America and not say “uh” once, I would gladly vote Republican the rest fo my life. The problem is that the last say, oh I don’t know, 4 Republicans placed in the spotlight have all either had articulation problems, or shot their buddy on “accident”.
George W. Bush has muttered his way into disgrace.
John McCain (the Republican for whom I hold the utmost respect for as a soldier to a veteran) could hardly keep a train of thought going, due in part to his age. He also pointed fingers the entire time. God Bless McCain, but notice how the Republican party posted commercials trying to attack Obama’s charcter, while the Democrat comemrcials were about Obama’s stance on the issues. He used his position as a veteran to ensure no attacks could be made on his character, somehow I doubt the Democrats would have.
Finally…Palin. What to say about this woman? Firstly, she is an embarassment. If that is what all Alaskans are like, the Army can forget about stationing me there. You would think Alaskans, especially one as conservative as Palin, would want to preserve the natural beauty of the state. Isn’t she like…Pentacostal or some other legalistic denomination? They don’t believe in dinosaurs. She votes against gay rights for the reason of “the bible says it’s a sin.” Well guess what, Palin? When God said that man held domain over the beasts of the earth, he meant to TAKE CARE OF THEM! Surely, if she is so legalistic then she would want to PROTECT the beautiful things her God has created. She speaks a bunch of fluff. I watched the VP debates, and all that came out of her mouth was a bunch of fluff bunnies.
Mariann Pepitone, how ignorant can you be? You gladly point fingers at the President Elect, but remember that every time you point a finger at the other party, three more point back to you. Your own party has done nothing but ruin our nation and it’s economy. The Nations of the world are laughing at us, but not anymore. The laughing has stopped, change has come. If you don’t like that, no one’s asking you to stay.

Ok, let’s rip her for the way she lies.

Posted by: Rudy | November 14, 2008, 1:22 pm 1:22 pm

Republicans are “morons for supporting her”.
Let’s see: Palin is the Governor of Alaska. She has cleaned-up corruption in her state and has made deals with foriegn contries. She is an expert in domestic energy. However, the MSM, bloggers, and “anonymous” McCain insiders fabricate stories about Palin’s family, her clothes, and not knowing countries in Africa and North America. Liberals only believe the stories and call her an idiot.
Joe Biden, in his only debate, tells at least 15 blantant lies. He claims to have watched video (presumably beta) of FDR from 1929, and likes to eat in a Wilmington restaurant that’s been closed for over 20 years. He voted for the Iraq war, but claims that he never thought Bush would actually do it. His plan (The Biden Plan) was to carve up Iraq into 3 distinct and separate nations. Liberals support Biden, calling him an expert in foreign policy.
So you tell me: who are the morons?

The media need only roll tape to expose Gov. Palin’s ineptitude. It might only be ADD and there are meds for that. She should look into it. But the steams of consciousness that spill from her face betray far more than a cognitive disorder. The political touch stones to which she variously refers and randomly blurts out are all without exception superficial television references. No one other than that 27% of Bush dead enders believes she reads anything. She has no understanding of America’s current condition or it’s history let alone the wider world’s. She represents her constituency well.

Hard facts: she raised taxes, spending, and debt as Mayor of Wasilla.
As governor, she raised taxes on business (oil industry) and redistributed money to voters (Alaskans get an annual check based on oil extraction). She gave a contract for a natural gas pipe line to a Canadian firm instead of an American firm.
Her support of the Alaskan Independent Party, whose goal is to separate from the U.S. with the option of re-joining under its own terms, and whose founder publicly professed his “hatred for the American government” and “her damn flag”.
She routinely talks about Obama and Ayers in a way that implies that Obama seeks to destroy our country. That’s why people at her rallies shout, “Off with his head!” and “Terrorist!” and “Kill him!”. She is bearing false witness, the fruit of which is whipping people into a state of irrational hatred and violence.
I was taught, “By their fruits ye shall know them” in order to distinguish which master a person serves.
Now, I’m in favor of regular citizens (PTA moms for example) getting involved in civics and leadership–but not this one.

So I believe that what Congress is going to do also is not to allow the export bans to such a degree that it’s Americans who get stuck holding the bag without the energy source that is produced here, pumped here; it’s gotta flow into our domestic markets first.”

Your hard facts are bull Karen.
She reduced property taxes in Wasilla by 60%. She never supported the Alaskan independence party and the Secret Service PROVED that nobody said “Kill Him” at her rallies and the reporter who claimed they did was a liar.
Nice try from another minion of Obama.

Gov Sarah Palin is no liar.
She believes that government should work for the people and not the other way around way like it is now. We work for our government and this will get even worsen when Socialist Obama takes office.
Enough with the negative comments! What has she ever done to you and why do you still worry about her? What are you afraid of exactly?

And I look forward to her successful leadership!
The Republicans will get their act together with this happy, gracious, honest, strong, courageous and likeable charismatic who has a record of authentic reform! :)
Remember Obama’s ah – ah – ah – ah and his early gaffes and naive statements. He has improved since he started to use the teleprompter.
Sarah’s speech yesterday was excellent because she stuck to her script/notes!
But you democrats/liberals need to keep your eye on Obama! His application criterion is so rigid no one could possibly pass it – not even him, and he owes a great many people! :)
This Independent/conservative is enjoying the show!

When McCain is asked about Palin. He immediately goes back to his canned reply.
She’s wonderful
She a great mother
Her husband is great. He drives a snow machine
She has a wonderful family.
Nice things but not the first thing you want to hear when describing someone who is a heartbeat away the leader of the free world.
When will Palin go away. This is getting to be a bit nauseating.

Since McCain introduced Palin on the national scene, she has proven in EVERY way that she is NOT qualified for the Presidency.
And if she does finally go and learn something about the U.S. Government it’s quite obvious to know that some high school student knows more than she does about leading the country.
See you in 8 to ten year Palin. Then the obvious reason why everyone is soooo gaga over you will be gone. Hint: it is not her intellect.

Since they are on the verge of re-electing a covicted felon for the Senate it is quite obvious that Alaska has deep seeded problems.
Can the succeed from the union PLEASE. Then Palin could be the wacky leader of Lower Russia.

Posted by: Oval Office Upgrade | November 14, 2008, 4:29 pm 4:29 pm

Facts are stubborn things.
Before Palin became mayor, Wassila had no debt, no taxes on food, and spending was restrained. Palin enacted:
- TAX ON FOOD (only 15 states tax food)
- Increased SPENDING
- Increased DEBT (millions for the small town)
- and, as governor she raised taxes on BUSINESS.
Yes, in Wasilla, she campaigned on decreasing property taxes and did cut that tax. But the rising cost of taxes on groceries along with the cost of paying off debt will likely be a net increase in taxes for Wasilla residents. Yes she is charismatic and strong. But one can’t be expected to ignore her record.
The Secret Service did confirm threats went up when she inferred her oppenent approved of violent acts against his own country. Her opponent never once pointed out her record on taxing and spending, incurring massive debt, or association with the angry AIP group.
Now we’re learning that the contractors that helped her husband build her house for free are the same ones that later got the contract to build the Wasilla sports complex. Stevens was just convicted for a strikingly similar freebie.
Personally, I would have liked to see her as a great competitor. But, an examination of her record makes me think, “practice what you preach” and “when you point the finger of blame at another, you have three fingers pointing back at you”.
I think she has been good for Alaska in many ways though she cannot be expected to be perfect.

It is incredible any reasonably intelligent person would buy Palin’s rhetoric. If we are silly enough to elect Palin to lead America, we are too daft to keep America in the position as world leader. Let’s keep smart people in charge of America. Was Bush not enough of an example to show us we need to elect brains, not just personality?

Posted by: rwrsok | November 14, 2008, 4:52 pm 4:52 pm

rwrsok: I agree. In these times, a politician has to ‘bring it’ in terms of BRAIN POWER. It’s okay to have charisma but the stakes are too high to forego an above average intellect.

Sarah Palin is very eloquent when speaking HATE, CRITICISING, CONDEMING etc. It is when she has to deal with other stuff that she is short on coherence. Such is the true sign of a BIGOT. Why? Because ignorance breed prejudice and prejudice produces ignorance. Remember people are at their best when they are passionate…HATE is a profound passion albeit Negative passion. The Republican Party needs to do some Spring cleaning or the Klan and other such extremists will become their base and structure of the party and the Nation could become like Lebanon, Bosnia, Iraq or worse…non productive but immersed in self-destructive racial and civil conflict.

It amazes me that people in this blogg are still critic of Sara Palin even after they perceived won election. What gives anyone the right to call this woman names and an “Idiot” cos she expresses her views and holding to her believes. As a non-citizen of united states i used to admire americans prior to these election but knowning what i know now about the Democrats and the far left liberals, i have lost all my respect and admiration of what i knew that americans once represent. Those of you that hide under the liberal bloggs and kajole Palin, can any of you sincerely compare what this woman has acheived in her short life with what any member of your family does acheive not even to talk about your own mother. ” You that point one finger on another person, should not forget the fact that the remaining four fingers are pointing against you” I know american has lost their way with the good help of the extrem and biased far left media and the truth is in time to come, you people will realised the hole you dug urselves in, through allowing the far left media to help you determine your leader. Good luck to you people for you new president and thank God you all got what you wish for and in couple of years to come i wait to see who next to blame and hopefully it will not be Bush.

I don’t doubt that Palin has charm. That has been proven. But the trick to understanding why she is scary to so many is to read her quotes, not listen to her. I think David Brooks got it right – Palin is a cancer to true conservatism. Her speaking is meant to emote not provoke thought or ideas. Peggy Noonan was right… she says things, but doesn’t actually say anything. I really hope the Republicans find a thoughtful, introspective, eloquent person to fight the Dems. They need a worthy opponent. It sharpens both parties and makes them better for our country.

Atleast Sara Palin shows her herself as been human in terms of not been roboted by telepromter when expressing her views, honest and realistic opinion. However, i personally believe that what is going on in american and the world over is the fulfilment of the word of God that says ” In the last days people will intend to believe on lies than the truth” and thats why is not a supprise to me that the wrong candidate was elected even when his lies where so obvious.

Mitch:
re: ” do you really feel comfortable with a media that is become so biased? Is that really good for our country?”
to me it simply comes down to this….
Gov. Palin may have done some good things in Alaska and her home town of Wasilla, however when I listen to her speak, I can give her props for her ‘celebrity, ‘down home’ charm and ‘populist’ appeal but as far as any kind of ‘gravitas’ and deep understanding of issues, I just don’t get that from her.
on the other hand……
If you have ever bothered to really listen to Obama’s speeches, like the speech last summer on ‘race’ in Philadelphia,
you would have heard (IMHO) a very deep and substantial discussion full of nuance and understanding of many perspectives… and a reasoned analysis.
sometimes, you have to actually listen to what’s being said…… it’s not sports.

Sal I don’t know how you point your finger, but when I point my finger there are only three pointing back at me, not four. And if you were an American I would say that you must be one that clings to your guns and your god in times of sorrow.
As far Palin (whom I can’t stomach) gets it more so than you. This woman is on a power trip. She came out of the gate orally excreting the diatribe that she had been fed. If she wants to run with the big dogs, then she has to take it as well as give it. And she damn well was given it. Too bad for her, she and her first dud are not qualified for the highest office of the US.

Being able to communicate clearly is something that we as Americans should look for in our leaders. Palin speaks with a lot of words that really have no place in the sentences she is forming, her thoughts are so abstract at times. As an American English speaker, I have a hard time following what she is saying and I am sure that a foriegn leader would have a double hard time because this person would have learned proper English, jargon and slang is not included. She needs to really hit the books for the next two, three years and then come back and see if she can present a better package. I have nothing against her, she just needs to learn a few things before she jumps back on a national stage. ;-).

Posted by: Francheska | November 14, 2008, 9:28 pm 9:28 pm

She reminds me of my ex wife who, in reading her book to me, was absolutely awesome. Pure genius, the likes of which I’d never heard before or since.
But the book itself was absolutely terrible. Unreadable. No typos or bad grammar, just BAD written flow.
Sarah is obviously that type. In transcripting her speech you encoded it, Jake.
That act is taking it out of context and any journalist should have more integrity than stooping to devicive listening.
You may notice that some languages have spoken and written versions that have nearly NOTHING in common!
There is written English and spoken, and theyre compatible from written to spoken, but ALMOST NEVER vice versa!
Come on, Jake, ABC doesn’t even deserve your talent and decent, intelligent opinions. This story was beneath you.

Posted by: zak | November 14, 2008, 10:22 pm 10:22 pm

Jake, you didn’t put in the pauses or punctuation of her conversational flow. Try this: “Sitting here in these chairs, I’m going to be proposing: In working with these governors who, on the front lines are forced–and it’s our privileged obligation–to find solutions to the challenges facing our own states every day, being held accountable (not being just one of many casting votes or voting present every once in a while–we don’t get away with that). We have to balance budgets, and we’re dealing with multibillion dollar budgets and tens of thousands of employees in our organizations.”

the real decoding about Palin communication skills is that she speaks in tongue. Not heavenly ones mind you. Unless we get an interpreter from her world to explain her out. we, the people, have just to continue to suffer her ranting. I have a 5 year old ask me once “what language does she speak? my rsponse: “that is what makes us great as a country”. To have her seize air time on national TV while we are striving to get our children to be better readers and improve on their communication skills here comes miss Parrot Palin. It’s called buccal diarrhea: running one’s mouth without thinking of or about the words spoken. All I know is that I am grateful that I was not her English teacher. “It would be my honor to assist and support our new president and the new administration, yes. And I speak for other Republicans, other Republican governors also, they being willing also to, again, seize this opportunity that we have to progress this nation together, a united front.”

So, all of you that voted for this excuse for a “lady”, please take an introspective view for once and look at yourselves. Ask yourself why you would have ever elect someone as blatently stupid as this woman. It’s not that the media is being “cruel, or unfair” or even “sexist”.
If Hillary for example, started talking like this, I would have been worried of her suffering brain injuries, because no one with an IQ higher than 110 and a college degree should speak like this.

Just to refresh your memory of backgrounds since there seems to be Obamaphobia out there, McCain graduated 895th out of 899 naval students. BARE BOTTOM OF CLASS. To me,. Sarah Palin represents someone who has a complete lack of knowledge that is obvious to everyone but herself. When she answers a questions, she dazzles the person asking the question with so many words that the person becomes lost in the words and does not realize that she HAS NOT ANSWERED the question. That is not showing knowledge, that is showing that you know how to BS your way around anything. Most of the questions that Palin has been asked by reporters can be answered in one sentence and she runs off this whole charade of BS that winds up being nonsense when you actually READ what she said as an answer to the question.

You know DeAndria Mitchell, i’m not a partisan but i’m only curious about how the print and mass media practitioners had been so obsessed to Sarah Palin.
You know what i mean, they can fabricate things out of context and put it in a front page newsbulletin so those ordinary folks can read it clearly.
In fairness to Sarah, her critics and mongering minds still alive and kicking in order to destroy her innerself and dignity.
Of course, those concerned who loves and believe with Gov. Sarah still and have faith with her longing. Her vision to put the Oval Office in a prosperous and respected household of around 301,139,947M (July 2007 estimate)Americans is a dream come true.
2012 is a reckoning day to her destiny and legacy to rule the broken-hearted and less fortunate fellow man!

Sove the problems DaveM,
Witch-hunters are roaming around in and out in the world wide web to discredit Gov. Sarah and hyperlink superhighway http continuously surfing an up-to-date out of context issues against her innocence.
McAfee, Norton, Kaspersky 2009 are one of the best code-breaker to stop cognitive bias judgment and obsess immaturity.

She received her reckoning day to her destiny and legacy on Nov 4, 2008, so she does not have to wait until 2012. In four years, there is no telling who will the be the front runner for the GOP. Who would have thought in 2004 that an African-American would be elected President? Did you? Time goes on and time is not going to wait on Sarah Palin to get educated enough to speak in complete sentences. ;-)

seansatx: Every word that Sarah Palin said about Obama associating with thugs like Bill Ayers and Louis Farakkhan is true! It’s also true that he sat and listened to his racist pastor Jeremiah Wright every Sunday for 20 years and claims he didn’t hear his sermons! So exactly what did Sarah Palin say that wasn’t true? And as far as all of us Sarah Palin supporters being idiots, according to you, we are not! My own IQ is 129! I am no genius, and I don’t claim to be, but I am above average and not a idiot! I also carried a B GPA in high school and an A in college!

Sarah Palin blessed the secessionists and slept with an AIP member for 7 years.

The woman can ramble on and on without ever answering the question.
BLITZER: Should the U.S. government, the federal government bail out the Detroit — the big three automakers?
PALIN: Oh, that is the discussion of the day. And there is going to come a point here where absolutely the federal government must play an appropriate role in shoring up some of these industries that are hurting and will ultimately hurt our entire economy and the world’s economy if there aren’t some better decisions being made.
But we also have to start shifting some debate here in our country and start talking about personal responsibility and responsibility of management in some of these corporations and companies so that from henceforth it’s not assumed that the federal government is going to be bailing out everybody who is going to soon line up, Wolf, for more taxpayer assistance.
And I’m talking about personal responsibility too in terms of homeowners and in terms of folks who maybe have extended their own credit. Sure, predatory lenders are to blame in all of this also, but we have got to make sure, for instance, we’re not talked into buying a $300,000 house, because really we know we can only afford a $100,000 house.
And we’ve got to start living those lessons that we try to teach our children in terms of not living beyond our means and extending our own personal credit to the point of not being able to pay our monthly bills and then expecting government to grow and be the answer.
BLITZER: So, sorry, I’m still waiting for the answer, should the government bail out the big three automakers?

I think that before Obama’s term is over Sarah Palin will seem like a genius to you Obama supporters after he has raided your 401ks and your IRAs and deposited your money in a government fund and left you nothing for your retirement and not done half of the things that he promised! You’ll regret voting for him and turn on him and start calling for his impeachment! Your love affair with him and your honeymoon with him will definitely be over and you’ll be BEGGING Sarah Palin to run for president in 2012!

News flash, George Bush did that already. That’s why the majority of Americans are begging Obama to take over.

Correct carlyonsue,
Let’s see and wait on how he can hocus-focus the current economic downturn and high inflation rate this coming year of his inauguration.
Flattering words can not and will not resolve the bankruptcy of poor capitalists who mismanaged their investment due to high competition against cheapest Chinese products and other third world countries.

Stringer you think it’s bad now but it’s nothing compared to what it’s going to be when Obama implements his spread the wealth program! You won’t have anything left at all for your retirement! It’ll all be in Obama’s government fund and everyone’s 401ks and IRAs will be cleaned out and the accounts closed! 401ks and IRAs will be things of the past!
