Is it January 20th yet? We need to get Bush out of office before he can do any more damage!

“Tingly leg” Chris Matthews said on Morning Joe today when asked about the
transition and if Emmanuel should have known the answer to the question about Chief of Staff….”Look, it’s our job to making this president a success…not to questions his decision.
I am commited to making this president a success. REALLY??? Is is the job of the press to “make this president a success. Like the selling of the Iraq war. While I am very happy about the new president, we need to take a look at the press – their role in the selling of the president and the extreme bias in this election.
Joe took Chris to task for his statement as did others on the set Watch it for yourself. The media are now just cheerleaders!

Now is the time as the president-elect is setting up the candidate to work on proposals for big and small ticket problems to be solved. Time spent on the Great Get Even is time and resources wasted.
Bottom up systems rely on multiple individuals forming comunities and topics of interest to explore problems and come up with the best alternatives. The illusion of the top is the existence of shared values that enable the goals to be selected and shared.
So it really is time to ease up on the partisanship and get to work. While the electoral victory looks large, the reality of the popular vote is just six points and that is not as large as the landslide of Richard Nixon in 1972 who would go on to be impeached within two years of that day. If we want this presidency to be about change and restoring our image around the world, then instead of trying to fight the big fights, pick the one issue for which you have the most passion and knowledge and work with those who share it.
I’m not sure if this is about change as much as getting back to being the country that works together without the demoralizing mind killing fear and paranoia of the last eight years.
And there is plenty of work to be done.

No the Good Morning America people swooned over which puppy Obama will choose.
I expect nothing negative about Obama and everything positive to come out of GMA. Unlike President Bush where all you did is report the negatvie.
This election was a real eye opener for America. Those in the mainstream media are obvious and have their agendas on their shirt sleeves, injecting bias to formulate opinions.
Notice that this moring on gma, they always called Obama, President-Elect Obama. When they talked about the current President, they called him Bush. Classy Robin, real classy. You are in the media and the spotlight, act like it.
I can’t believe that you were fawnig over Michelle’s dress the way you were. I noticed you mentioned it was from a very expensive designer. You failed to metion just how much it cost. I thought that was now an issue with gma after all of the crowing over someone else’s clothing. Bias? Double Standard?
You better remember just one thing, you have a large, diverse audience. There were over 56 million citizens of this country that voted against Obama. Are you for inclusion and unity? Or would you rather keep dividing. The choice is yours.

It is so sad to see how guilible some people are to think that one man can destroy the economy as much as it is sad to see so many can believe that one man is the answer. It is the men and women we have voted in Senate, Congress and the House of Representatives. Let’s change those people in order to assure every American can live the American Dream. Palosi is going to release the next amount of funds to the American People maybe before Christmas. If both Parties were truely concerned for the well being of us Americans…. why has the relief funds taken so long? Why must we be pawns in this policial game of which party is best. So far I am not impressed by either Party by making the American People suffer one more day than need be. The Media should be fired and replaced by true reporters that report on a non biased bases. I have never seen so much prejudiced reporting. The late show Hosts are only there for comedic entertainment, not for their well know intelligence on politics and therefore should not use their shows to push their policital opinions. Because someone is famous as an actor/actress, talk show host, does not automatically make them an expert on politics nor qualify them as a highly intelligent source of polical correctness. Congrats to the Media for swaying the vote YOUR way….

Did anyone hear that Bush was doing a bunch of deregulation before he leaves? I heard on Rachel Maddow and a couple of other sources that he’s deregulating water and how clean it can be and also deregulating air pollution. So he’s leaving the new president with crap to clean up on purpose! Is that what he really wants his legacy to add up to? It seems really immature. I hope in the coming days that every member that Obama asks to join his administration accepts the invitation. All of the rumored staffers are well-known for the excellence and getting things done and in the coming years we’re going to need that. Just think about it: Caroline Kennedy, Robert Kennedy Jr., possibly Chuck Hagel, Rahm Emmanuel, Colin Powell, and so many more reputable figures. I’m kind of excited to see how things will go on from here, especially if everyone offered jobs takes them.

“”I heard on Rachel Maddow…”"
That is as far as I got with that post.
If you have not had the pleasure to watch her, try it. Have a puke bucket handy, you’ll never make it to the toilet in time.
Is there any wonder that MSNBC is nolonger a credible news source. They have been proven with fact that they were the most biased in reporting. To the liberals disdain, FOX the most balanced.

It’s your volley…I agree with you 100%. I don’t even want to watch GMA anymore because it’s sickening. How does the network allow the “reporters” to be soo biased???? No matter what your own beliefs are and how you feel about McCain, Obama or President Bush, we, as their audience, should not be able to ascertain what Robin or Diane’s policical beliefs are. It’s in poor taste and especially how Robin is referring to Obama compared to our current president…PRESIDENT BUSH…I will admit I am not a big fan of his right now but Robin…have some respect!

I will quit my job
deny my citizenship
get pregnant
in result….
be fed,

treated,
I can now…. have my cable, my car, and my home without having to pay for it all thanks to Obama.
Screw the people who actually work for what they have…that’s what is in store under the Obama Regime. God Bless the Hard Working Americans!!! We need god’s help to get us through the next 4 years.

Unfortunately, the rumors of the death of the mainstream news media are true. GMA, dead. MSNBC, a corpse. CNN, on life support. Fox, coming up in the ratings and fawning. CBS, long dead.
The media will now be the public’s whipping dog for any missteps of the new administration. The truth is they lost too much cred during Bush I and this attempt to engraciate themselves with his replacement is too transparent.
They did it to themselves. No sympathy for this. Some willies though; we need to get on with it but Obama is still a mystery and an objective media is fundamental to the truth.
How we will get news is anyone’s guess. We’re on our own.

Whoopi Goldberg was just talking about the transition. She said that he is going in completely blind and alone. Saying how hard it will be and it will take a very long time to “know” everything. Of course the rest of the liberals on the view were nodding their heads agreeing with her.
Amazing.
Maybe they can replay the video of them blabbing about how Bush knew all about alqaida befoe he went in. Ofcourse they won’t. Gotta protect our liberal stronghold on the tv to formulate opinion.
Whoopi you are a hack.
Do I think the country is in trouble today with the economy crisis, the war, etc. YES! Do I put all the blame on one person….NO!!! If you do, then you are not very educated as to how the United States government works and have just turned on your TV to listen to all the bias information you get there. Instead…go to the library or go to reliable websites and learn about who actually has the authority over our economy and maybe you will be surprised. As for President Bush…he has not been the greatest President the country has ever seen but he hasn’t been the worst. Also…DKNY and Angie….please tell me factual things as to why Obama is going to make a great leader and great president. You seem to hold him on this pedestal (along with many of the country) but he has not done one thing to warrant this so please enlighten me because I must have missed this information about him when I was doing my research on him. Please….give me examples to prove to me and everyone (and yourself) why he is such a great leader and will be a great president. Thanks!

Doris, the majority of us who did not vote for Bush gave him the benefit of the doubt when he was elected. We accepted him as our President and it wasn’t until he destroyed our trust, by lying to us, did we lose all respect for him.
The Bush Admin. inherited a good economy from Pres. Clinton. They destroyed our economy through pre-emptive unnecessary war with Iraq, they tortured against Geneva Conventions, they spied on Americans, they took away Constitutional rights,
shipped jobs overseas, deregulated Wall Street causing the financial collapse there. Now in Bush’s last days, he seems intent on destroying what is left of America.
President-elect Obama has a hugh task on his hands and is willing to work across party lines and with the American people to try to get our country back to prosperity, peace and respect internationally. All Americans should want America to be the way it was again and should be patriotic enough to help this new president bring our nation back to by the people and for the people. There is nothing partisan about recovering our great country from this despair we are now facing.
The angry McCain/Palin people need to get onboard and support this new president who was elected by an overwhelming majority of the voters. He got twice as many electoral votes as McCain and won 9 red states. Americans want hope for our future again. President Obama has committed to working for us and with us to achieve greatness in America and restore our name with the international community.
As a McCain supporter, I want to say that many of us are bitter, and if you read some columns by a lot of pundits, they are pretty humble about the loss.
Some of us were disappointed that he saw the need to shift to the right for the “base,” but couldn’t say that too loud during the campaign.
I bet Obama moves more to the middle…
All I know is that if he lost, I think the complaining of the “stolen” election would have driven me crazy, so I am really glad he won…
It’s just like after the superbowl. One team won, won lost…it was close but no cigar…
Now it is time to allow the other side to enjoy their victory.
Save your complaints for specific differences with regard to policy, and do it in a respectful and principled way.
Obama has not been sworn in as president yet. President Bush is still our President so for those that say that we need to support Obama and not be negative towards him since he is going to be our president…how about supporting President Bush and not being so negative towards him…huh??? He is our President and has been for the past 8 years but it doesn’t work that way for you, does it? I will respect Obama when he does take office (he better place his hand on the bible and sing the National Anthem…but he probably wont and that will probably be ok with most of you….UNBELIEVEABLE!) but until then….GOD HELP US ALL!!!

The election is over. Obama has promised to listen to everyone, the left and the right. He has vowed to also be president for the people who did not vote for him.
We, Americans, have lots to fix in this country. It is not longer about handouts, or making the most in the stock market with ridiculous gambles, but about what we can do to fix it.
We have to work together to fix our country, divided we will fall because we will be distracted by things that don’t matter, while the things that demand our attention drag us down.
Obama is the president-elect, that discussion is done. Now, let’s roll up our sleeves, and see what we can do. We have the environment, healthcare, education, the wars to start addressing.
To start, we can change our light bulbs, pump up our tires, tutor the kids, fund the schools, and reach out to each other, we’re in this together. There are things that we can all work on, together, rather than fighting about things we can’t change.
It’s pretty ugly, some of the infighting among Republicans. Palin supporters blaming McCain’s outdated sense of honor… and McCain supporters blaming Palin’s ignorance… And I wish it weren’t happening.
Anytime a campaign loses, you see this kind of blame-game as people scramble to protect their reputations and put their failures on a scapegoat….
But even if this finger-pointing is even partially true… America avoided a major disaster by choosing Obama.
I think even people who voted for McCain are thanking their lucky stars for the wisdom of the electorate in making this decision.
Jenn, you have a point, but it doesn’t help to repeat the level of attack that has been given to Bush since day one.
Bush himself seems like he is not going to follow the path of Clinton’s staff, who I remember trashed the white house offices on exit.
I agree, Bush has never been respected by the left, but it just becomes a cycle of animosity when it is your guy sucks all the time, oh yeah, your guy sucks 100% too.
Let’s show them that McCain supporters can be part of a principled opposition, maybe not compromising in principles, but changing the tone of discussion, just as Bush promoted…(did he succeed? I don’t think anyone can get that one going)
bonnetteblj….if this is what you think…”The Bush Admin. inherited a good economy from Pres. Clinton.” Why wouldn’t the statement that Clinton just inherited a good economy from Bush Senior????? Think about it? Yes, President Bush and his administration made some poor choices which have hurt the country but if you are saying that President Bush destroyed an economy that Clinton created, you are mislead. Clinton’s terms were remnants from the Reagan and Bush Senior adminstrations. Get your facts straight.

CORRECTED POST!!!
As a McCain supporter, I want to say that many of us are NOT! bitter, and if you read some columns by a lot of pundits, they are pretty humble about the loss.

Save your complaints for specific differences with regard to policy, and do it in a respectful and principled way.
As a Democrat, I am very happy. As an american, I am extatic. As a person, It really depends what is going to happen in the next days.
I gave my vote to a president whom I think is the best for the circumstances we are in.
However, I have already seen the grumpy ignorant bush bunch at work. They are calling all the networks to complain and point fingers. I hope for our country that the supporters of Obama, those who didn’t support him but have some sense of what they mean by “Country First”, and those who are not ignorant, but believe strongly that McCain had something to contribute to this county as a president, All those people should rally behind the next 44 and do the right thing. Help as much as we can.
After all, this is our country and 44 is just one of us. He will be fine no matter what happens to the country. Look at GW. He is fine. no problem there, but look what happens to our couontry.
My invitation will be to all americans to put party politics behind and do the best for our nation.
To those already politicking to squeeze the juice out of our country either way, I say, I will be watching and don’t go telling Obama how to run this country because he has who and why for every position. I have heard that a lot of republicans are calling now to get onboard the new government. It will be them again spoiling everything then blaming Obama.
No excuse for him if he lets the Republican use him to fulfill their own agenda instead of the mandate the people gave him by a more than 300 electoral points.
Keep that in mind buster. Mum!!!
Why bring up negative stuff about Bush? I think he knows that his presidency didn’t turn out the way he’d hoped. I actually feel bad for the guy… He tried to do a good job.
But unfortunately he was reliant on the same sorts of ideas and approaches to government that cost McCain the election. He seems like a good guy who listened to bad advice.
If you’re like me… you’re not mad at Bush. You’re looking forward to Obama.
As long as he doesn’t start another war…. I will wait respectfully and patiently for the changing of the guard.
Hopefully, his transitioning will be done as well as his campaigning. We should all wish him the best for the sake of the country. Gotta go.

Bottom line for me…I want to live in a country where hard work is rewarded and handouts & freebies to those who don’t want to participate in society are done away with. This is my biggest fear and I just hope that Obama does not think this is the direction America should go in. More and more homes are being forclosed on…..to some, it’s not their fault. Maybe they lost their job, illness, etc. but to most, and I will say most, it is their fault…they mismanaged their finances or borrowed more than they could afford and why should they be rewarded. How about me who sacraficed time and time again and worked my butt off so that I can make my mortgage payment and pay my other bills. It is us, these responsible Americans who should reap any rewards if any are given out by the government…..although that will never happen. And it’s a shame. If this “change” is really going to happen, I hope it starts with motivating the American people to want to make something of themselves and not just take the easy way out and collect a check or get bailed out….we will never compete with countries like China, Japan, etc. with more and more of our people just taking the easy road, looking for handouts from the government and not taking responsibility for their actions. Ok, I’m done…lol.

Aliou
Wow are you confused.
Nobody knows “who” is pointing the finger of blame. They are reporting this story based on anonymous sources. Do you understand the meaning of that?
Mandate? I’d be careful with that word. You think that a blue state is a blue state. You are very ignorant. There are states that only got 4 blue counties and 68 red, yet went blue.
You need to look at a county map instead of the state map.
President Obama will show by his actions, a troubled nation, the truth. Please make divisiveness end with YOU! The election is over and we must join together for the good of our country. Stop blaming and fighting and use the opportunity to post messages of unity. Jesus Christ taught us to love one another as we love ourselves. Let such love begin with YOU!
Angie – well you didn’t answer my question but that is what Obama supporters and followers (omg that sounds like a cult…lol) have been doing all along. To the people that think that Bush sent our jobs over seas… NAFTA was from the Clinton Administration… Please do your homework before you go trashing something you know little about. That is how many of the elections turn out badly. Also the War in Iraq…. I guess it would have done us a great service to let Saddam Hussain and any other nut control the oil over there. Even if we were independent from oil, it still would serve the people who want to destroy us and others who seek freedom. There are so many factors in the decission to go to war. The original speech that President Bush made after September 11 has not waivered. The President of Afganistan has stated That he hopes that President Elect Obama will stop killing civilians. Hello, isn’t that what all the people in the World Trade Centers were, cvilians??? And why do we care if other countries hate us??? Who are they and why do they hate us? If they hate us why are were sending money to these countries. Why did we re build their cities after World Wars? These are not cut and dry issues. It is not one man who will save us, it is not one man who destroyed us. Please read about how our government works and who makes the final decissions regarding the issues at hand. Learn from History.. that is how we will pull out of this. Not by one man. Obama is the first African American President Elect… which is to be celebrated… but he is not a god, he is a man who has to answer to Congress, House of Representatives and the Senate and will be limited to what they want him to do. Just like in every other President’s term. They are limited to the amount of power they can declare. As for President Bush trashing America any more in his last days… WAKE up and look at Palosi and those cronies that need to be replaced on their next term. Regardless of how the vote turned out… WE THE PEOPLE are still in trouble.
I just would like to say that I cannot believe that this country voted in a man with no experience to be the commander in chief! The college kids voted for him because it was the “cool” thing to do. 95% of the black voters, voted for him because it was the only thing to do! And everyone else voted for him because they have an emotional love affair with a very eloquent, gifted, attractive black man who promised to change the world! Those qualities do not keep us safe or change our economy! I hope he is a great president because if he fails, we ALL fail! We elected someone with little experience, someone we don’t know, and frankly that scares me. We have the MSM to thank for him being elected!!
“Barack will bring us together”
Actually no. We will bring ourselves together or not at all.
This one was bitter to the bone. There is no magical manna from heaven to change that. We’ll get back to our routines and time does the rest. If the Obama supporters want to make that happen faster, now is the time to drop the stoner rhetoric and get focused on the tasks at hand.
Obama doesn’t have a mandate. He has a clean win of six points. The good news is that stops a repeat of the Bush/Gore let the lawyers decide it debacle. But be smart and realize that a) 47% thought otherwise b) the Democratic blowout of Congress didn’t happen and c) the Republican Party isn’t going away.
Look in your hearts and minds and ask if you really do put country first. If you do, (and I mean all of you), drop the partisan rhetoric and pick up an oar and row.

Obama Bin Laden…. Maybe instead of killing one nut and having several other nuts hatch in unknown places… better to follow the one nut and see where and who he leads us to?? Maybe we might be able to expose these terrorist groups and eliminate them before they kill anyone. President Elect Osama will be over the next 75 days brought into the Security loop. I bet as in all past Presidents going into office, will age about 10 years. What a huge responsibility he is going to be exposed to. No matter the party, I do not envy the information he will know and have to live with the rest of his life. He will lose an innocence that many of us will not have to face in our lifetime. and to put a finer point on it:
“So it turns out that when Plumber Joe was a child, he was on welfare, not once, but twice, and he credits it with helping his family ultimately lead a middle-class life style. He defends having received welfare by saying that he’s subsequently paid into the system.
In other words, well-designed taxpayer-funded social assistance programs are fine because ultimately they will pay for themselves.
Suddenly we have Joe The Reasonable, right? Well, not exactly. Plumber Joe has got something of a tax dodging problem. In the end, he’s just another typical Republican hypocrite.

If I sit around waiting for some free giveaway…. how would that make the country better. These economic problems we are having are very, very serious. We aren’t talking about the fortunes of political parties here… we are talking about the future of our entire country!
Why waste time on bitterness… when there is real work to be done… and a page has been turned!
Concerned….
Don’t be so gloomy.
In many ways, Bush did a bad job as President… but we didn’t all die because of it. We just elected a different leader with a different plan.
Sure, there is lots of stuff that needs to be fixed. And if Obama doesn’t do a great job (and if we don’t help out), we will see dark days ahead…. but even then it will not be the end of the world. In four years, we’ll be able to look at Obama’s presidency… and if he seems to be another Bush… well, we’ll elect someone else!
Sure, our government can move pretty slowly sometimes. But it is very strong and very stable. Our people are strong and committed to our country. And as long as we can change the country, like we did on November 4th, we will be OK!!!
If I were a Republican… I would go to the Impeach Obama websites that were started yesterday and tell them to get a life.
He hasn’t even been in office… and they are already claiming that he needs to be impeached.
If you want to do something good for our country… I would talk to these people who are hoping for failure and disaster and suffering… to salve their own egos.
These people need to get some sense.
Re: I just would like to say that I cannot believe that this country voted in a man with no experience to be the commander in chief! The college kids voted for him because it was the “cool” thing to do.
Are you serious? My 2 college kids, in debt up to their neck in student loans voted for Obama because it was cool? Did Colin Powell vote for him because it was cool or because he is black. If that is the case, then Will Smith could have been elected. This is beginning to sound like a nasty divorce. It’s over. The republicans will get their chance again. McCain (a great man) was very gracious in his concession speech and asked his supporters to support the new President as has President Bush. Please, lets begin the healing process.
this is awesome how the gop politics were rejected… there were many bad things that happened over the last 8 years… perhaps not all of them were Bush’s fault… but the buck stops right there and the GOP paid the price… this is how our politcal system SHOULD work… this is how it DOES work…. if you fail horribly.. you are gone….. and someone else gets a chance to succeed where you failed..

I will quit my job
deny my citizenship
get pregnant
in result….
be fed,
housed,
treated,
I can now…. have my cable, my car, and my home without having to pay for it all thanks to Obama.

Posted by: Liz | November 6, 2008, 12:03 pm 12:03 pm

He is our President and has been for the past 8 years but it doesn’t work that way for you, does it?

Posted by: Blip | November 6, 2008, 12:14 pm 12:14 pm
Posted by: Wade | November 6, 2008, 12:15 pm 12:15 pm
bonnetteblj….if this is what you think…”The Bush Admin. inherited a good economy from Pres.

If you do, (and I mean all of you), drop the partisan rhetoric and pick up an oar and row.

re: “have you forgotten about Sept. 11th???? ”
only Bush & Cheney have…..
that’s why Bin Laden is still around, I’m sure you remember ‘W’ saying.. ‘dead or alive’….then it was ‘mission accomplished’…. Republicans talk a good ‘American show’ but they are not good at actually doing things in a strategic and effective way.

wow….. Republicans, after the last 8 years of doing things their way, now want to be ‘reasonable’ after ruining the country.
Guess we’ll see…… I doubt it tho’.

How easy to judge a President when you’re safe at home with only the knowledge the Media feeds us.

“Also….have you forgotten about Sept. 11th???? Did you want our government just to say to the world…ok, you can do this terrible thing to us and we aren’t going to do anything about it….come back and destroy and kill more Americans…..get real!!!”
The world is responsible for 9/11?
The delusions of the right wing grow with each day the realization that their reign of power is over sinks in.

Obama doesn’t have a mandate? Bush won by 2.7 points in 2004 and he DOES have a mandate? 6 points is a landslide in recent elections. North Carolina is Obama’s bringing him to 364 electoral votes.

CORECTION ON POSTING

Ryan C. – Sorry….I should have known that people would pick each word I typed apart. What I meant was….
“Also….have you forgotten about Sept. 11th???? Did you want our government just to say to the world…ok, anyone or any country can do this terrible thing to us and we aren’t going to do anything about it….come back and destroy and kill more Americans…..get real!!!”

ask ‘Joe the plumber’, the republican minister of finance…… he’s the ‘right-wing’ expert on the economy….

and to put a finer point on it:
“So it turns out that when Plumber Joe was a child, he was on welfare, not once, but twice, and he credits it with helping his family ultimately lead a middle-class life style. He defends having received welfare by saying that he’s subsequently paid into the system.
In other words, well-designed taxpayer-funded social assistance programs are fine because ultimately they will pay for themselves.
Suddenly we have Joe The Reasonable, right? Well, not exactly. Plumber Joe has got something of a tax dodging problem. In the end, he’s just another typical Republican hypocrite.

To: Blue: I corrected myself, did you not see that? Thanks Doreen

Jenn… I’m not expecting 1000 dollars from Obama.
In fact, I am looking forward to working hard to help my employers, my community, my co-workers, and country make it through the difficult days ahead!!!
